It's Tuesday, plus the third day of Kwanzaa (Ujima: collective work and responsibility) and the fourth day of Christmas (4 calling birds). Birthdays: Earl Hines, Pops Staples, Maggie Smith. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm wearing Hermès Vetiver Tonka.
Reminder: 12/31 is New Year's Eve. Do what you were going to do anyway...wear the perfect fragrance to celebrate, share joy and look forward to 2022.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2021, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: shown are 2 items from London-based design duo Thornback & Peel. At left, a Blackbird & Bramble Tea Towel, £12. At right, a Teacup Apron, £25.
A very early start of the day with YR Orange Melting shower gel followed by Jo Malone Orange Bitter & Chocolate.
I regret my purchase of YR products just before the holidays, when I was supposed to wait for the 70% sale going on now. Not sure if I should restock on some favorites, but still I have enough to last me for a while.
On my second cup of coffee with a thick slice of vanilla panettone and ready for my next zoom meeting. I decided to work remotely for the rest of the week. Later this afternoon I will take my mother to a doctor’s appointment. The surgeon has already started to talk about reversing the ileostomy next month. We’ll see.
Happy Tuesday, everyone! ?
How’s the YR? It *sounds* like the Orange Chocolat from 2010, but I haven’t even smelled it yet. Now that Christmas is over, I assume it’ll be going on clearance here in Canada….
I never tried the Orange Chocolat. This one smells like candied oranges with a hint of chocolate. It is very a very pleasant scent and it doesn’t foam much. The hand cream is more chocolaty. They are now 60 and 70% off, so I may order a couple of the Christmas limited edition candles and bath products before they are gone.
Yep, I would say that if you liked 2010’s Orange Chocolate you’d like this year’s melty chocolate. I too bought pre-sale YR items, in order to have them it time, and I too will dither over buying more items now that they’re on sale.
If you have a favorite of the seasonal items (and it’s on sale now), I would stock up. I’ve seen things go out of stock, never to be seen again. Kicked myself a few times!
Your combo sounds fantastic!
Enabler pin! ? I will order the limited edition candles and body products. As you said, they may not come back again.
?
It’s hard to navigate what’s going to be on sale and when now. You risk your item’s being out of stock if you wait.
Good luck to your mom today!
Thank you, Lillyjo! We are waiting now for mom to be seen.
I ordered a couple of candles, shower gels and hand creams. Those prices can’t be beaten!
enabler pin activated!
Lol!?
Lol! Super! ?
PL67, you get an enabler pin from me. I’m definitely making some purchases at YR…
Great! I’m so glad I am not alone! ?
Glad to hear that you decided to work remotely for the rest of this week!
Thank you, Jalapeno. Better safe than sorry. We know how bad the situation is outside to be exposed unnecessarily.
Wearing MFK’s Baccarat 540 for some post-Christmas decadence, with a touch of Papillon’s Spell 125 on my wrists to keep the woodiness from getting too sweet.
Friday I’m planning to wear Parfum d’Empire’s Le Cri de la Lumiere, a perfect crystal bell-like scent to usher in a newer, better year.
Hi and welcome emilyraw!
I have not even got a plan for Friday yet, but love your choice.
I love your perfume choice for Friday!
Hiya emilyraw, and welcome!
I’m wearing Tea for Two. I’m going to switch to something else tomorrow though, since this weather is too warm for the amber and spice fragrances that I’ve been wearing.
Jealous of your weather then!
A little spritz of vintage Chanel Antaeus to ward off the chill.
That should do the trick!
Oh, you smell wonderful.
Sprayed myself with Both Sides of Clouds this morning.
Don’t know it, but I like the name!
It’s by 4160 Tuesdays! Just a lovely scent; I was tipped off by a few wonderful NST’ers! There is orris, citrus and a touch of vanilla.
Sounds perfect. I should dig through my samples, maybe I have some.
I always sing the song when I see this perfume mentioned. Then I think of one of the best scenes of Mad Men. I have not tried the perfume but hope to.
https://youtu.be/Tm3yrjwaRLo
Wasn’t Mad Men such a great show? I binge-watched it!
Hope you get to try BSOC sometime!
You smell fab! I wore Clouds yesterday.
Currently in Demeter Dandelion. Going low longevity, as my daughter will be dropping off her perfume-hating cat for a few days. Why yes, I am (kind of) pandering to this cat.
Enjoying some Root candles, which is probably every bit as bad from the cat’s perspective. My willingness to sacrifice has limits.
Other: bathroom remodel is stalled, due to our contractor catching Covid. The chaos is real.
Cats seem to require being pandered too, don’t they? I gave our cat three pieces of kibble at an unauthorized time — he was being such a pest and I was trying to get work done. Not stupid, that one.
“Pandered TO”
I read ” enjoying some root canals” ! Lol. For a second I thought you were a dentist checking the bank account!
Oh no, so sorry about the bathroom! Hope the contractor is ok. I am in a bit of shock over the number of covid cases I’ve personally heard about in the past week — it is big.
(I know the numbers in the news are already big, but we knew / knew of almost nobody who caught covid during the whole pandemic, now I do feel surrounded.)
Me too. It’s everywhere. My cleaning lady came down with it and tested herself–on Christmas. Sad. She wears a mask at my house, and so far (after one week) I’ve not come down with any symptoms. Omicron supposedly only incubates for 3 days and so I hope I am all right–and every more earnestly hope that my mother is, since I visited on Christmas. Fortunately, the people I know have only got cold-like symptoms and seem basically ok. Hope that is true of your friends, too.
So far, yes. And hope you don’t get anything at all!
My son woke up with a sore throat this morning so keeping my fingers crossed — we did spend Sunday with a large group of family. If he gets any other symptoms I will test him tomorrow.
This is what I just heard from a friend in Australia – 3 day incubation, standard cold symptoms.
Yikes! Hoping that your son doesn’t have it, Robin!
I don’t think he does because nobody else is ill…but now if you even wake up with a sore throat, it’s worrisome.
You are so sweet to the cat! Sorry for the disappointing news about the bathroom. I hope your contractor recovers soon.
For a dark and rainy morning with errands to run, Tauer Sundowner. I love this one: it lingers, and changes, and is very cozy. I love the bottle, too. I got a sample of Phi with it and now the lemmings are dancing again. Down, you little scamps, down! On a related fragrant topic, I tried a liquor called Fernet-Branca. Totally bought it because of the label design and the idea of an herbal liquor. Well, the first sip was “eww, toothpaste.” Added to the fact that I dislike mint as a flavor in all but a very few cases (tabouli is a notable exception). But funny to say, I went to their website and read about it. It actually warned the taster to wait for the flavors developed. Mr. and Mossy and a friend for whom I made ginger beer cocktails liked it that way. Have I mentioned ginger is another flavor that is low on my list? But, having confronted many challenging perfumes over the years, I did not give up. I read that F-B with of all things Coca-Cola is very popular in Argentina. So, I tried mixing it with Cheerwine (which I happened to try, but it is not usual for me). The first impression was: “this is like drinking the scent of patchouli.” That was so weird that I just accepted it and added some more ice. 😀 Shout out, any Fernet-Branca lovers!
In my “fine dining” days, nearly everyone on staff would do shots of Fernet Branca since it was so thrifty. (Some people would do them on shift but that wasn’t my style.) I admit, I love the full-throated flavor. It’s quite a punch! I would be curious to try it with Cola.
After the first minty shock, I did notice it had quite a bit going on.
We love it — but I have always had a weird penchant for bitter and strongly herbal flavors.
I like bitter, too. But more in the spicy rather than leafy direction, it seems. 😀
I have a relative who swears by it as an digestif after a big meal.
Medicinal is what I mostly get, but the sweet cola mixer did make it seem more like a treat to me.
I drink mostly bitter / amaro / herbal / etc, but FB is my alcohol Mitsouko: respect it, don’t like it.
Very interesting to find some fans. The fact that I got it at Kroger suggests it is not too obscure, but I never noticed it up there on the “top shelf” until recently. Cheers, all.
My day(s?) of trying out alcohol went poof when I tried raki. I should have stopped on the first sip, but I wanted to get the whole experience …
LOL. That sounds like when I first tasted aquavit. It was at a friend’s dinner party. They served it and said you drank down the little glass and followed it up with a beer chaser. I liked it so much, I missed out on the dinner. ;-). Fortunately, they were good friends who forgave me.
I don’t like beer to begin with but alcohol with a chaser of more alcohol would knock me out!
I had that in Turkey and confess I rather liked it!
Have you been to St. Petersburg? I went on a tour. As part of the tour there were a few stops at fancy gift shops selling furs, amber, caviar in jars, gorgeous stacking dolls, and those beautiful orange little boxes they make and decorate. The moment you go inside, they greet you at the door with trays of vodka.. Aha, now let’s shop! In fact, at my hotel, they even had trays of vodka glasses set out in the vast and lavish breakfast buffet!
Raki is another one I’d never heard of, but a quick trip over to Google said it has an anise seed flavor. I am afraid that would be too much for me as well.
And it’s double or triple distilled. It’s a very innocent-looking milky white but oh lordie!
I’ve been to St. Petersburg and we did not have the vodka experience. I probably would have declined it anyway because I am a light-weight!
I love Fernet Branca, but like skalolazka I also love all things bitter/herbal/weird/old-timey, including horehound candy and Chartreuse.
I love the taste of Chartreuse and that color!
A storied concoction –
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/12/17/business/chartreuse-monks-coronavirus.html
I have heard of Chartreuse but have not tasted it. I will check this out – thank you 🙂
“Tastes like how patchouli smells” has definitely piqued my curiosity!
Hello all!
Back to my isolating days, mostly staying in and back to my KN95s. Luckily I can find them easily but unluckily they are MUCH more expensive than the surgical masks.
A nearby antique mall I frequent is moving, so every booth is having a crazy sale! I picked up a few perfumes I’d been eyeing literally the 9 years I’ve been going but at a cool 50% off their (high) prices. Today I’m in Jacomo Anthracite (the woman’s one) which has a synthetic vibe that reminds me of the original Donna Karan. I’m really enjoying it.
Stay safe everyone!
Congrats on the perfume score! Stay safe.
Thanks, you too!
Yay for 50% off!
Are they moving close by?
Not particularly but it’s not that close either way! I am sorry all the vendors have to move 9 years worth of stuff though
I’m with you on the KN95 masks. I do find them less comfortable, something about how the ear strings grab my ears. Are you going to give a girl a break and tell us where this antique mall is? I can promise not to buy perfumes there–but would love to see what else they might have on hand! Lamps, pretty glass pieces, other odd things?
I think they fit a bit better but the ear straps are not comfy at all!
It’s Thompson Antique Emporium (90% sure) where the old northwest mall was, on Hempstead. 12/31 is their last day though! I don’t mind if you buy the perfumes either!!
Oh, that is thrilling – I need to pop over to our fun Antique Mall!
In the before times, I used to go to this one once a week!
Great buys!
Thank you! I’m pretty pleased
I’d love to hear more about some of the other perfumed goodies you got at that sale!
I was very naughty and ended up with five. The other four are:
A sealed Chant d’Aromes cologne in the darling clock bottles
A bottle of 80’s Azuree cologne
A full tester of the original Anne Klein
A full bottle of Habit Rouge Eau de Cologne in the old red plastic casing bottle
And that’s the list!
Joins in perfumed happy dance! Please give yourself a big blast of Azuree for me!
Wearing Happy Heart today and cashed in some lotto tickets today. Grand total was $30 and that’s earmarked for some groceries. I am starting to resent grocery prices no matter where I shop.
Grocery prices have me furious! I also noticed that coupons are harder to find.
I had the same thought this morning, except in an even wider arena (I was paying bills) — every darn thing seems to be three times more expensive than it was a few years back.
Grocery prices are a trip- I cannot imagine trying to feed children a balance diet with treats with current prices, never mind a proper Christmas dinner with desserts!
BUT.
That makes me extra vigilant in terms of not wasting ANY food, shopping carefully & mindfully, and remembering my fellow workers who are doing their best to get food out to us.
I used the bonus points on my bank card for a Kroger gift certificate!
I got sticker shock on some items the last time I went grocery shopping. Might have to cut back on some things in the future.
Commando. Trying to get everything ready for our trip, including a detailed written info sheet for our house/cat-sitter. At least the sun is shining here — I think I’ll give myself one hour after lunch to keep working, and then an hour off for a walk.
Good luck getting it all done skalolazka!
Yay for taking an hour walk – it rained all day here and I used it as an excuse not to walk.
SOTD is Mizensir Bois de Mysore.
I have zero anything of interest to report.
I hope you have a good day apsara!
thank you lillyjo!
Cleef and Arpels First EdT, its a bit cooler and Soapier than the EdP, but a great choice for the office.
Hope the day is going well tannina!
Guess who’s avoiding housework? You guessed it.. it’s me!
I’m wearing Bon Bon and waiting for the weather service to figure out how much snow I am getting on New Year’s Day.
At least you smell good while procrastinating ???
Hey twin!
LOL! I really *should* fire up the new vacuum cleaner I got for Christmas. Haven’t done so yet.
Pulled my HD North Face fleece over my head this morning and was delighted with a lovely melange of scents. Added to the mix with Tauer’s Au Coeur Du Desért and now I am perfection personified! ?
Hope everyone is surviving the holidays and the weather (if you’re having bad weather) in good spirits! We were able to get out of the parking lot today and the roads in town are not bad. I’m able to get some errands done, so that’s a big plus for us.
Stay well, y’all! ?
Oh, so glad!
Oh, how I love the smell of well mingled perfume on a scarf or sweater! You smell WONDERFUL.
I’m in Copal Azur today, which is striking me as just perfect. I love it when my anticipated pleasure in a scent is fulfilled. I’m sticking to two sprays, because I have to go out of the house today, and I don’t want to drown other folks in my scent. On the other hand, if I go all hajusuuri, maybe that will serve as a sufficient people-repellent, and I won’t have to give anybody the stink-eye for getting too close to me…..
Due to a head full of frizzy, curly hair, I’m wearing a little wire headband today. As with most hair accessories, I’m only going to be able to stand it for as long as I’m out running some errands. I seem to be particularly sensitive to anything that places tension on my scalp — ponytail bands, buffs, clips, etc. Anybody else out there with the same condition? It seems like even a little pulling or tugging on my hair or scalp gets really uncomfortable after about 30 minutes.
I’m the same way — curls that would benefit from a headband to rein in the frizzies, but anything squinching my head drives me nuts. I can do a messy bun (my standard hairdo these days) with those little boing-boing spiral elastics that look like phone cords, though.
Copal Azur is lovely stuff — you smell great!
I am back to 8 sprays today! Last 2 days were 2 spritzes each. As to anything bothering my head / scalp, I will say that my hair is so straight and smooth that almost everything just slide off.
This is why I wear box braids and cornrows to a minimum- I have never liked how it pulled on my hair- it really can get itchy and irritated.
With so many people wearing masks, I think it is fine to spray a little extra. They probably can’t smell you, and if you blast the nostrils of the inconsiderate person not wearing a mask, that’s OK!
You smell great! I have the same hair accessory problem. Also have to be careful about eyeglasses that squeeze me.
Wish I could help with the hair conundrum. My hair is (mostly) straight and fine, with a few wild hairs scattered in here and there. Most things just fall out for me.
Inspired by Perfumelover67 yesterday, I can still smell last night’s Anima Dulcis on my clothes this morning, lovely.
I have made a fearful mess in the living room. I started sorting out scraps of lining fabric last night (you never know when you might need a tiny piece of lining 🙂 ), the cat has been having a lovely time and my little piles of matching scraps are all over the floor.
The first activity of the day is supermarket shopping, to be followed by some sewing – it is nice to be on holiday.
I’m thinking of Chamade for the morning.
Cats seem to be misbehaving a lot today ?
I have my sweet gray tabby boy Hugo next to me now and he’s being a very good kitty!
Oh, it sounds blissful, enjoy.
We joined the gray tabby team a few months ago – Checkers and I send scritches to Hugo. My boy is only 8 months old and wild zoomies are the norm. However he will play chase with me, which makes me burst out laughing as he leaps in the air to “get me.”
Team Bronze Tabby here. That’s Teflon kitty’s markings. She was snuggling with me this afternoon before the heat kicked on.
Sewing is the best! What are you making?
Happy Tuesday/4th day of Christmas/3rd day of Kwanzaa.
Am in a combo of Ambery Saffron (540 dupe) and Warm Vanilla Sugar Body spray.
Snow came to Portland, bringing that beautiful snow quiet that I love. I need to shovel the driveway but it’s not too bad!
I am going to make a Japanese style curry for today- honeynut squash, potato, garden collard greens, onion, chicken- perfect for a cold, snowy day.
Would you make curry ahead of time and freeze it?
I make batches of it- enough for 4 servings- one for today and tomorrow, another two serves in the freezer for next week! I try to do that with winter meals like soups and stews.
Your curry sounds delicious!
Having a serve right, with both rice *and* a mashed potato (snowy days call for carbs) and it’s so good! I am going to need a nap afterwards!
Snow quiet is wonderful. We live on a busy street and when the storm windows go up, I enjoy the extra quiet but add snow -we’re in the midst of our first snowfall – and it’s even better.
I also live near and on a bsuy street- and the respite a snow day brings is so peaceful.
I’m wearing Frau Tonis’ Munchen from a travel spray that I fear is evaporating. Currently at the eye doctor waiting for my pupils to dilate.
I spent none of my FSA money this year, so it’s new specs and sunglasses for me! I just hope I don’t choose frames poorly like last time.
Good luck with your glasses! I take selfies of myself wearing each possibility then study them carefully at home before deciding.
That’s a great idea. I love my current glasses, but my hair gets stuck in the fancy hinges at front and that has been annoying me for 3 years now.
I was thinking about your response as to why you’re trying out a career / life coach. All the best with the consultation. I am not a career or life coach but will suggest, if you haven’t done so already, to think about the non-skills demographics of the job you are seeking. What is it about your current job that you wish you could change? Will you trade an hour commute for 10-20%+ increase in pay (or what increase in pay will you accept to commute x-hours, unless pay is a consideration lower down in your priorities)? Do you want to be told what to do or do you want flexibility in achieving your goals? Etc.
Those are all great questions, and I just wrote them down. I’m super fortunate to be getting the chance to start over, so I want to make sure I do it well!
Happy birthday Maggie Smith! I watched The Missionary recently, starring her and Michael Palin, and basically wept with laughter through the whole thing.
Commando today as the migraine woes are back — there’ve only been three or four pain-free days this past month and my nerves and spirits are really starting to fray.
That sounds like an awful amount of time, get better soon.
I am so sorry about your migraines, hope you get a prolonged break soon.
Isabella, have you been able to try any of the newer migraine meds that are available?
Sorry to hear this, Isabella. Hope you have space to rest and recover.
So sorry for your migraines, Isabella.
Yuck. That sounds terrible. Wishing you relief from that painful slog.
Very gentle hugs to you. I hope your migraines abate soon..
I have a headache just reading your post ?. Hope you find more lasting relief soon!
Oh dear, that’s awful. I wish I had anything helpful to add…just hope you are better soon.
It’s kind of you to do cat-sitting for your daughter, hope it will be fun.
Sorry, wrong place.
Thank you to everyone for your kind words about my mom and nephew. Mom is doing much better, meds are kicking in, and she was not admitted to the hospital, just given the meds and sent on her way.
Wearing Ta’if today, and it is glorious on a cool grey day.
I’ve had 2 end of year fragrance related discoveries that are making me really happy:
1) I have an Ajmal coffret, but was never able to identify which sets were which. So I didn’t wear them very often. But due to the magiv of the internet, I’ve found names for each! I can start wearing these more now, as I will be able to keep track of them better!
2) For Christmas this year, Mr. Missionista (who likes to cook) made duck a l’orange. He made it to some complicated recipe which called for bigarade, or bitter oranges. Of course, I knew the term from perfumery, but had thought that these were harder than hen’s teeth to find in the U.S. Turns out, they are a major component of Dominican and other Carribbean cuisine, as well as of this classic French dish. Due to the demographics of my neighborhood, they are readily available at my local supermarket! They smell SO GOOD! And now I can juice them and add them to various things, like gin and tonics, for example. OMG, mind blown!
#2 It’s nice to have a versatile ingredient!
#2 – How nice! I don’t think I have ever seen them. And now I want duck a l’orange!
I wore Diptyque Fleur de Peau all day, but now it’s the turn of Rouge Nocturne.
Fleur de Peau is so nice 🙂
Isn’t it, and was reminded how long-lasting it is.
I love Rouge Nocturne.
So glad you love it, sniffing my wrist and coming to the conclusion it is my best rose/patch.
Oooooh, an excellent rose/patch perfume is great for so many occasions.
Happy Tuesday!
Still kinda hooked on YSL Kouros,so that’s my SOTD!
Today was my last workday of 2021!!Back on the 4th,doing it all,all over again!Lol!
Being a natural pessimist,I “want” to believe 2022 will be better.
For now, just a 6-day recharge, sorting out some stuff between my storage units and the apartment.Main goal;NOT MOVING HOUSE WITH ANYTHING I DO NOT ABSOLUTELY ADORE.And that stretches from my closet to my pantry.
XO
Happy new year holidays! I totally understand about the move. Last move I told myself I would be leaving with a suitcase.
What an excellent task to tackle before the New Year .
Enjoy your time off. The purging gets easier as you do it.
Yay for having a 6 day break from the workday grind!
I followed that rule when we moved in September 2020 and it has made me so much happier here. Everything has been unpacked, and I only unpacked things I loved or absolutely needed. It made such a difference in how I viewed our new home.
Enjoy your break!
Commando, since that time of the month always makes me nauseous … but it’s been days now and i haven’t gotten to try any of my Christmas treats! Got myself a sampler of 8 Imaginary Authors scents, 4 Hermessences, a Mainson Marigula travel size Falling Leaves, and a lovely Jo Malone Silver Birch & Lavendar from my sweet mama. So far I was able to wear the Jo Malone (really pretty, and I don’t often go for lavender) on Christmas Day. I actually like how fleeting her scents are, since you get to spray more frequently.
Here’s hoping tomorrow I can go spray crazy!
Fingers crossed that “Aunt Flo” leaves you alone soon.
I’m home from visiting my parents, it went okay. Some humorous moments and some sad moments. Such is life with elderly parents. I am glad to be back in San Diego.
Wearing my sample of Atélier Materi Cacao Porcelana. It has chocolate and patchouli but is quite different from Bornéo 1834.
Glad that your parental visit went OK!
I miss my parents in ways I didn’t know possible when they were alive.
I am glad you were able to visit them, w/ the sad and the funny combined.
I understand those mixed feelings and bet you smell great, we’re patch cousins.
I am thinking you smell wonderful! I have a sample too, even only sniffing the little ampule brought a big smile. I am glad you were with your parents, and I am sure they were glad you were there, too.
I’m so glad you see the humor when dealing with elderly parents. My sense of humor has saved me over the long haul of caretaking and my father’s death at 92.
The name of your perfume made me think of this
https://youtu.be/unKpaWOfrCI
Oh my gosh I am getting old!
I am glad you had a good visit and that you are home now.
I know it’s sad for you, and I am sorry.
Do you like it? Glad you had your visit with the parents.
I do like Cacao Porcelana, but I’m wondering how much I would reach for it. I don’t seem to wear a lot of chocolate lately.
Bleah. A stupidly late night last night… had trouble falling asleep. Another grey day here, so no energy to be had from the sun’s shining face. No ambition to do anything at all. At least things were boring here.
SOTD = Divine EdP, from the sample stash. Roses were definitely called for today. ?
Wishing you a Good long night of sleep and hope rose will make everything better.
Thanks Aurora. I used a sleep mantra last night that did eventually get me to drop off, but it took a long time. But it’s a nice trick to have when you need it.
Cool, what’s your sleep mantra?
Yucky day but I managed a walk!
For sure! Leaden weather, leaden spirits.
Ugh, I’m so sorry. Similar situation here — sky like wet concrete, sleep elusive at both ends of the night, everything rather bleurghy. May we all sleep like baby bunnies tonight and wake to at least metaphorical sunshine, if not the real deal.
I slept thru the trash truck banging and clanging thru my neighborhood this morning, but it isn’t a substitute for those wee hours of the morning Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzs.
I hope it’s a better night for you.
Thanks lillyjo. Me too!
SOTD = The American Perfumer Tapestry by Sarah Horowitz-Thran
What a mouthful! Regardless, it’s a wonderful fragrance and I can only describe the drydown of soft amber vanilla.

For what it’s worth, I am concerned about the shorter quarantine / isolation period in some parts of the world where other parts have doubled down and increased the time. Was it based on science, as we have all been conditioned to believe? ? Who or which organization can we believe these days? Whatever the case, I am glad I am boosted but there are so many buts …
Glad I got my booster when I did. It’s gonna be stupid after New Year’s… just have a sinking feeling about it.
I was trying to get as much done as possible but things have a way of not cooperating…
I am with you on the questions.
Sadly, no answers…
I was scared off by the dill note listed in Tapestry. Do you smell it?
I meant to go for Anima Dulcis to extend a kind of NST mini-trend, but when I looked into my dark perfume cabinet (a light needs a battery in there), reaching for that chubby round little bottle, my hand came out instead with CdG Daphne, and I felt compelled to spray it on — lavishly. That meant I would waft it around elegantly as I went over to the nearest grocery store for wine and cat litter (essentials here). I did find the Anima Dulcis bottle right next to this one just afterward, and am keeping that one out for tomorrow. Gloomy day here and we still have very mild weather–air conditioner weather. A potentially contentious movie recommendation: I found Don’t Look Up on Netflix hilarious. It’s a star-studded political satire that is very heavy-handed. It might offend some people but I really laughed and laughed at it. Mark Rylance (he of the eyebrows and Cromwell fame) was terrific in it (and almost unrecognizable), and Meryl Streep was obviously having a blast in her role.
Oh good, I want to see that!
I’m late today but I love reading everyone’s comments. Physical therapy kicked my butt think morning and my foot was swollen double size by the time I got home, so I chose to elevate my pj’s and mood with vintage Chanel No 5. It’s snowed wet and heavy all afternoon.
Ouch! Your poor foot! Good call to chill out metaphorically with vintage Chanel.
Ugh. It will be worth it I’m sure, but meantime, ugh.
