It's Monday, National Sangria Day and International Human Solidarity Day. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm commando for a doctor's appointment later today, and have Fendi Theorema ready and waiting on my desk for when I get back.
Reminder: 12/24 is Christmas Eve. We won't have a community project but there will be a poll starting on the 23rd, so if you're around, do tell us what fragrance you're wearing.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2021, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Lovely photo!
I’ve worked all night and will be up all day. I prepared by wearing Montalé Arabians Tonka, which will last through the end of times and beyond.
Covid hospitalizations are picking up speed here, so stay vigilant Perfume Peeps?
I hope you have tonight off!?
How do you even do that?! I would just fall over somewhere.
I hope you have lots of coffee at the ready!
Thank you for all your hard work, Deva! Sending you tons of coffee and hoping you can get some rest soon!
I hope you get some sleep soon!
Stay safe! I hope you get a good rest.
Ugh. I’m glad you have a good scent to keep you company!
I will stay vigilant! Please take care and get much deserved rest!
Yay for coffee and perfumes like Montale that get going when the tough do, to fracture a phrase. I will be careful but I did shop this week.
Mr. Jalapeno and I are scheduled for boosters later on this week.
My project for the year was to get to the end of my shoebox of samples, and I’ve done pretty well! I have a small metal box packed with rarities I’m not ready to use up just yet (vintage things like Aromatics Elixir, Bel Ami, and Halston), and I’m down to four vials that I mean to be done with by the 31st. So today I’m wearing OJ Zizan, not something I’d need to own but a well-made vetiver.
Wow! Good job! I’ve often thought about working my way through my samples, but it would mean every weekend for a very long time. I wouldn’t want to risk sampling on a workday and then to be stuck with something unpleasant all day! And then there’s the “maybe I should wait and retry in summer” pile and the “maybe I should try it when the weather’s cooler” pile. . .
I’m fairly sure that my three shoe boxes full of tired samples are simply going to serve as a drawer freshener for the next decade (I keep them in a dresser drawer). Granted, the drawer smells amazing. I just can’t get through the samples, I rarely use them or even open the drawer, but I also cannot bring myself to toss them.
I admire your commitment and follow through, pyramus!
I’ve started throwing a sample in the bathtub each time I take a bath. It makes the water smell amazing, and my pile is getting smaller.
Very inspiring. Have divested yourself of samples, are you going to start on working through decants, or seek out some new samples? I am down to about 35 samples in a little box, and I vacillate between ripping through them and ordering some more – my list of new things to try is growing…
Very impressive with The Great Sample Thunking Project success!
I’m trying to wear things that I’ve not worn in a long while, or at all. Today its Krazy Krizia. I forget how much I really like this one. Perfect for a cool day in Texas.
Good idea, and I keep swearing I will do the same but I never do!
Cheerful photo! Love it!
Wearing Cartier La Panthere on this sunny but very cold day.
On my second cup of coffee with a splash of cinnamon toast crunch creamer and a slice of chocolate panettone.
Happy Monday! ?
Thank you for introducing me to the concept of Cinnamon Toast Crunch creamer! Now I need to try it.
Lol! It is quite tasty!
I swear your stores must have every flavor of creamer, oreos and peeps ever made!
Lol! You need to move to NY then! ?
Wasn’t it great to see the sun after a gloomy weekend?
It was so uplifting! ?
Yes, a lovely photo!
very chilly start here in SoCal, wearing JM Orange Bitters for a start to a short holiday work week and I am 100% heeding Deva’s advice.
Yay for a short week! This day was so long I feel like it should be Wednesday already.
Hello from the east coast, where I am visiting my mother! This morning, it was 21 degF, which is not a temperature I associate with life anymore; what a namby-pamby Californian I’ve become. As usual out here, my perfume options are limited, but I’ve gone for l’Arlésienne today. It’s probably the most floral/feminine perfume I love, which is a bit of a shame as it seems to have been discontinued.
I’m pretty proud of a project my husband encouraged me to undertake: Twelve Days of Christmas Carols! I’ve been posting a carol (for some definition of carol) on FB/Insta for twelve days up to Christmas (yes, I know those aren’t the technical twelve days of Christmas). If you’re interested, go take a listen on my Insta, where I’ve posted six videos so far! (handle: koyelx) Or, just watch this one of me + husband, which is probably the best one, even though it required the least preparation: https://www.instagram.com/p/CXh92sgvbZl/
In other news, I’m finally resuming the job search I put on hold almost two years ago, at the start of the pandemic. I have my first onsite interview the first week of January, and in advance of the technical talk I will need to give at it, I am reviewing my PhD defense. It’s very intimidating; I haven’t thought about any of that in over four years! Anyway, if you all have any leads on chemistry or battery/fuel cell engineering-related positions in the Bay Area, hit me up!
Oh my gosh your husband had me cracking up! I love him!
You sing beautifully Koyel!
I can’t help on the job front, but I wish you the best of luck. Have a great visit with your mom!
I could never hold a straight face that long! I can’t believe he didn’t crack!
Oh, he was SO PROUD of himself for being able to hold a straight face for that long! (So was I, especially through all my poking!)
I picked a good one, didn’t I? 🙂 I love him, too!
And thank you!
Loved the video!
Thank you, irisjasmine! 🙂
You are a great singer! Enjoy the visit with your mother, and good luck with the job search!
Thank you on all counts, mtg 🙂
Good luck, and enjoy the east coast!
Thank you, sistine!
Thanks for sharing the video, it was delightful and you have a beautiful voice!
Enjoy your trip!
Thank you very much, tulipani <3
I love the videos and you are so talented with the keyboard / piano!
Awww, thank you, hajusuuri! <3
Loved your video! Best of luck for your job search.
Thank you on both counts, OF!
That was just great! Good luck on the job search! I’ll tell adorable hubby I know someone working on fuel cells. THat is a little pet project of his. He wants us to have a fuel cell powered house… 🙂
Thank you!
Oh fun! I hope he makes that work. Fuel cells are the future 🙂 (near future, anyway)
Wow – loved the videos. I had no idea you were such a talented singer! Best of luck with the job. You are super-talented in many ways. ♥
Thank you, springpansy <3 so kind!
I loved the videos! What a beautiful voice you have! Thank you for sharing!
Enjoy your trip!
Thanks for both, pl67! 🙂
Loved your video. You seem multi-talented – baking, painting, singing. You looked so happy on your wedding photo. Congratulations!
That’s so sweet of you <3 thank you, Amyitis!
Koyel, what a delight, thank you. Will listen to the rest after dinner, and already looking forward to it.
Aww thank you <3 I’m so glad you’re enjoying them!
Thanks for such an upbeat post! Lucky the company that will (soon, I hope) get you for an employee!
Thank you, MossyBerry, fingers crossed!
Welcome back to this end of the US Koyel!
You are a multi-hyphenate in the making.
Thank you, Jalapeno! It’s so cold on this end.
Heh, that’s very sweet of you, but I think I might be too old to be an anything in the making 🙂
PFFFFFFFFFFFFT! Georgia O’Keefe was painting well into her, what, 80’s? Age does not limit artistry.
Thanks for this 🙂
That was so cute!!
Good morning.
I agree, lovely photo!
Sotd is BR540 Extrait. I find the almond more pronounced in this one and the caramel comes through later compared to the edp. I can’t decide which one I like better.
Currently drinking orange blossom latte.
I found the extrait just a wee bit too nutty- but I really like the EDP. I love the dupe, however.
AH geez, gonna have to break down and try this.
I used up and enjoyed a sample of BR 540 edp. Yesterday I saw and smelled it being frequently sprayed for testing at a busy perfume counter where I was lurking. The huge sillage was delightful. It is not quite me; but I may place another sample or even a travel spray in my shopping cart some day!
Hmmmmmm, I don’t recall getting any almond in the BR540 EdP. Will pay more attention the next time I sniff it.
In Frapin Paradis Perdu, a lovely woody aromatic that I happened upon cheaply, otherwise I never would have known its charms. It’s rather fleeting so I’m in full on 8 spray mode.
I have a fairly full work week until Thursday when I’m off at 2pm and then back to the office after the new year. I’m so excited for the break:)
Enjoy your break!
Thank you! You too!
Smelling wonderful! Have a lovely break.
Thank you! And maybe we’ll have snow to enjoy during our breaks….
Theorema is lovely and might wear that Christmas Eve. Currently in Happy and might spend the week in it. Not looking forward to a week of craziness at work.
Hope work is not too crazy!
The week before winter break—when every day feels like a week in and of itself! I’m telling my students winter jokes to take the edge off.
I’m wearing Iris Poudre because some of you wore it last week. I also realized how terribly low my travel spray is getting, so my perfume resolution might be to stop sampling as much and invest in a few things I know I don’t want to be without.
I think that’s a great resolution, and good luck getting through the week!
Wearing Amouage Interlude Woman. It always smells (to me) like a perfume wrapped in a perfume, the gingerbread is revealed when the gauze wrappings fall away. I can’t describe it, really. Anyway, I am glad I found my decant, it smells wonderful.
Perfume twins today. It’s such a shape shifting perfume, never predictable.
I’m in Molecule 01 for a back to work Monday. The sun is out today but I’m feeling just a little sad this morning for reasons I can’t quite put my finger on. I have so much to be grateful for. Maybe it’s because this is the second year in a row I won’t be with my parents for Christmas.? Who knows, this too shall pass.
Two more days and the days start getting longer!? That means spring is right around the corner!?
I’m sorry, mtg 🙁 that’s hard. Hope you’ll be able to see your parents again soon <3
Thanks Koyel. The plan is March and I really hope nothing changes that plan!?
Hugs to you, fellow not seeing our parents club member .
Aww, hugs back sistine. I saw your post this weekend. That is such a bummer. I hope your break is restorative for you.
Sending hugs Mtg!
Looking forward eagerly for the approaching longer days! Spring is in the air! ??????
Thanks pl67! I will be so happy for longer days!?
I hope you find some brightness in your day today. Waving to you from a warm day down here!
Thanks Kanuka!?
Sending a virtual hug, a huge cuppa of hot cocoa, and a sample of some desired perfume lovely, your way. Holidays are full of ups and downs.
Thanks OF, they sure are. Feeling so happy that all my kiddos will be home this year.☺️
Spring is around the corner! I’ve already seen Spring colors in the store??
Home Goods had some Valentine’s Day decor out weekend before last…a tentative display.
GAH! NO NO NO NO NO! Too soon for hearts & Cupids!
They disguised the real nature with gnomes.
Awesome! I’m ready!???
Hugs madtowngirl. I’ve had a couple of mornings like that lately.
Thanks Jalapeno, hugs back.☺️
I’m in Kaye Sucre et Fleurs this morning. Started out just straight sweet, but morphed into a nutty, honeyed floral after a bit. It would be great in early spring when you want something lighter but still like the snuggly, sweeter perfumes of winter.
I baked Congo bars last night and mixed up sweet corn cookie dough also. The bars will slice cleaner after an overnight rest, so will present better. The cookie dough is better after aging a little in the fridge too. Neighbor gifts will be distributed this afternoon! ??
I”ve never heard of sweet corn cookies before!
Here’s the recipe from KA:
https://www.kingarthurbaking.com/recipes/sweet-corn-cookies-recipe
Very simple to make, easy to roll in colored sugar to gussy them up. ?
Oh don’t those look delicious!
Thanks! They are so easy to make.
That should be Kyse, not Kaye. Thanks, spellcheck.
What are Congo bars? That’s a new one to me!
They are bar cookies with whatever you want added to them. I used mini M&Ms, chopped walnuts, almonds and salted peanuts, flaked coconut, white and mini chocolate chips and butterscotch chips. Can you tell I was cleaning out the baking stash? Anyway, here’s my base recipe:
https://www.kingarthurbaking.com/recipes/chewy-chocolate-chip-cookie-bars-recipe
Not affiliated with KA, I just really dig their recipes.
I’m wearing Gris Clair today. It’s turned cold here, so it’s perfect weather for it. Did a bit of work for after winter break to do a favour for my future self. Also did a little retail therapy at Heretic Perfume and finally got a travel spray of Smudge.
Hope everyone’s say is going well.
Mmm. You smell delicious! My favorite lavender, I think.
Those Heretic travel sprays are the perfect size, I have one in Scandalwood.
Whoo hoo for doing your future self a solid!
SOTD: Amouage Memoir. I don’t love the cold, wet weather we’re having, but it’s perfect for this heavy-hitter.
I am on winter break and the only holiday plans so far is Christmas Eve dinner with the in-laws. My SIL is currently dairy free, and I’m in charge of dessert, so I’m poking around my cookbooks for a festive holiday dessert I can modify without butter or milk. I’ve found a few cookies for a cookie platter, but I feel like that’s a back-up plan. I’d love to have more of a proper centerpiece dessert! Butter is such a wonderful flavor, though, and so important chemically in baking.
I know it’s the wrong time of the year but it does has good visuals, and might work with frozen fruit or apple/plums. Plus, it’s easy and dairy free.
https://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/fruit-recipes/summer-pudding/
Thank you for the suggestion! Looks pretty!
I suggest vegan yorkshire pudding. I’ve never mad them myself and I want to try the bake mode of my air fryer / convection oven and this seems to be “easy enough” for me as a non-baker. I know they are supposed to be for part of the main meal but I say you can have 2 different dips to satisfy both palates.
I’ve never had Yorkshire pudding. The look of them reminds me of my late step-mother’s popovers (which were saturated in butter!).
You can substitute smartly, I’m sure. But because dessert …
My son has a milk allergy, so I always have to get creative, too! I made a chocolate mouse with coconut milk one year; dressed with raspberries and mint, it looked festive and tasted great.
I’ve had success subbing coconut milk for dairy in the past, too. I made caramels with coconut milk and honey one year and they were divine! Somehow, though, homemade caramels don’t seem like “dessert” to me. Some kind of chocolate dessert would be fabulous! I might go digging for some dairy-free semi-sweet chocolate at the grocery store. If I find that, then chocolate will definitely be on the menu.
My mom also makes a ridiculously good chocolate bourbon pecan pie, which she makes dairy free so my son can eat it by using dairy-free chocolate and plant-based butter. I’m sure you’ll land on something great!
Lots of cakes can use oil instead of butter as the fat source! If you just search for, like, olive oil chocolate cake recipe (or whatever oil/cake type you want), you should be able to find some good recipes 🙂
Would a pavlova or other meringue dessert work?
Just been watching the full moon set behind the hills. Up here the foehn wind has been blasting all night ( up to 120km/ph) and there is a steady roar in the forest nearby. The smaller birds are being cautious but the seagulls above the valley are braving the gusts and soaring, banking and almost stalling before racing back with the wind. Yesterday my son mentioned that he’s been invited to his girlfriend’s for Christmas so our low key day ( I think we were making pizzas) has dropped down a peg…it will involve champagne and something, something, something ( to be decided on the day). Joining ringthing in interlude and then off to the hospital for a bit more prodding.
Low key with champagne sounds pretty good to me! Good luck with the prodding — hope everything goes well.
Low key with Champagne sounds perfect!
Blergh re the hospital and prodding. I hope you get happy news and can forget hospitals for a while. As for your low key Christmas, champagne is a really good choice. I find it has a surprising number of recuperative benefits, and coupled with favorite music and beautiful views, can make for a perfect day. Here’s to “something, something, something!”
Good luck with the prodding.
Good luck with your hospital appointment. Watched The Power of the Dog last night and thought of you and how you said it was filmed near you. Beautiful scenery.
Ditto when I watched it. One of the best movies I’ve seen in months.
Hope that this bout of prodding will be your last for a while, and that good news comes of it.
I’m wearing Erik Kormann Eau de Fröhliche #2 again today, to help with getting into the holiday spirit. I still have a week of work to go, so it really doesn’t feel like the holidays just yet.
Thanks to everyone for the sympathy about Ockeghem Tween’s test on Saturday; just diving back in now and seeing it. In answer to some of the questions, she’s applying to both public and private schools, and they all use different tests and applications (3 separate tests, 4 applications). The public programs require them because she’s applying to mini schools (I think those are called magnet schools in the US?). She wants to go to a school with a music program, and most of the public schools in the city don’t offer it, so we’re applying to some of the stronger schools that do. If all else fails, our catchment school is decent, if not outstanding. It will all be okay (just have to keep reminding myself of that!).
National sangria day! I’ll celebrate by having a Glühwein at the Christmas market downtown late this afternoon (it’s just hot sangria, right?).
I hope you get a good music fit and the tests go well. Gluhwein sounds like a great way to end the afternoon.
Good luck to ocktween!
Wow. I don’t remember that much drama when I was entering high school. My mom might have had to fill out some paperwork and provide proof of vaccination, but that was it.
Good luck to you and ockeghemtween in getting thru it all!
First day of Winter break for me and my son, and it’s a chore-filled day. Already went to the doctor’s this morning for my son’s flu shot, and I’ll be back there again later this morning for a check-up. It’s been tough getting appointments, so I’m taking what I can get. Luckily it’s not very far from home.
I’m wearing a little spritz of Rubikona from a sample.
Days off always seem like workdays with errands and what not!
You smell fabulous! I hope that post-doctor appointments you have a relaxing break.
Only two more days work this year! I’ve decided on Lubin’s Idole for today. It’s quite boozy to my nose, and I haven’t worn it to work for fear people will think I’ve been surreptitiously hitting the rum at my desk. That doesn’t seem quite so bad so close to Christmas 🙂
A hahaha ?. This is why I don’t wear Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille to work.
You mean hitting the rum at your desk is a BAD thing? Yikes!
I am wearing L’Artisan Bucoliques de Provence on this cold and rainy day here. It is matching perfectly with my midday snack: a brownie with raisins and cup of black tea.
I love, love love Bucoliques, you smell great!
Plus, perfect snack.
Happy Monday before Christmas!
1) SOTD is Gucci Memoire.
2) SOTD candle is Beauty Pie’s Hot Chocolate — this is a very sexy chocolate- not a sugar sweet gourmand. It’s gorgeous. I will order another one to have for February,
3) Short work week- just until Wednesday, then off until Tuesday morning. But it will be an intense few days!
4) How are you?
Oh, that sounds like a candle I might need…
2 more days til break!
It really is a wonderful, wonderful candle-just this rich, rich chocolate with a sandlewood/butter/vanilla base, with an airy incredible peppermint. Not sweet, just lush and sexy.
And yes- just gotta get through these two days!
Today I’m in Starlit Mandarin & Honey from Jo Malone. Because tis the season.
When is your holiday break Lucasai?
Began the day in a modest application of Promenade des Anglais for a dentist appointment. Needed some brief but unpleasant work done and wanted some scent to lift me through it. My dentist (who I do like) is probably 15 years younger than I. She has a young son–I am guessing he is about 8 now. Anyway, she loves to tell me all about her worries about him–his ADHD, bathroom issues, hygiene struggles, her husband’s relying entirely on her to deal with the problems. . . I was so stressed out and concerned by the end of the appt, I barely noticed the work she did. A crown re-attached and chip filled later, I fled her offices!
For those following She-Ra’s and my Twisted Lily advent calendar adventures, today was a tube of Juliette Has a Gun hand cream–Not a Hand Cream. Nice product that I am happy to own, but I’d never pay $24 for this one ounce wonder myself.
Oh my, that is one way to pass the time while in the dentist chair. Sounds like she has a lot going on!
There’s only one hand cream I’d pay that much to own (and it’s not *quite* that expensive), and that’s First Aid Beauty’s ultra repair cream. But sounds like a nice advent calendar gift!
I have a male dentist my age who is resolutely cheerful, calls me “Missy” and treats me as though I’m five years old. Must say I think I prefer him over yours. At least being in the dentist’s chair you couldn’t talk to counsel this woman.
I used to get my legs waxed by a woman who loved to regale me with her woes. I have since gotten myself an epilator and do it myself–not as good a job, but so much less stressful.
So glad that my female dentist always comes in singing or humming a favorite song of hers!
I had planned to wear Histoires de Parfums 1725 (Casanova, the lavender anise combination) and had put on almond scented body cream to go with it. All set, or so I thought.
I got to the drawer with my HdP’s (4 in total) and took one out put it on, thinking this is odd, this does not smell like lavender at all. Still, it had been a while since I had worn it, so you know, things might have changed in that time. It took me all of three hours to realise that of course the spicy rose I was wearing was not 1725 but in actual fact the Mata Hari 1876 HdP. Sometimes I wonder how my brain works, make that most of the time. Anyway, I do smell good, allthough different from what I had planned.
Glad that you still smelled great even with your perfumed mis-spray.
SOTD = DSH Oeillets Rouges, so I smell richly floral in my chilly house.
I am desperately trying to avoid holiday blooming, so I am munching alternating snacks of nuts (pistachios today) and fruits, probably a few frozen raspberries are next, and drinking lots of water…That picture of those lovely Christmas cookies the other day was divine, Robin.
Stay safe and healthy – there is much to be thankful for, in spite of whatever issues challenge us this season…
I’m in the same boat regarding Christmas foods. I saw a dietician after the bad covid episode, as I used to think I’m “fat and fit” and covid changed my mind. The dietician (female) is almost 6 feet tall and muscular in that gym bunny/ not a spare inch of fat way. She’s been brutal in assessing my eating habits, so it is a no alcohol, no sweets WHATSOEVER Christmas for me. I felt so desperate for a treat today, I went to a health store and bought some protein bars that meet her stringent requirements. I’m actually feeling very sorry for myself!
Sugar addiction sounds like a big joke until you actually try a totally no sugar lifestyle….for me, if I am successful in resisting any processed carbs for about 5 days, then the cravings go way down. But for me it takes careful concentration, since so many things have little bits of flour and sugar in them. I really just try to stick to pieces of fresh fish, fresh poultry, fresh meat, fresh vegies, and low hypoglycemic index fresh or frozen fruit, like cherries and raspberries, grapefruit and star fruit. The less processed what I eat is, the longer I go between slips. No bannanas or pineapple or peaches… my husband has various protein and keto bars he eats, but they don’t appeal much to me… Good luck with your project! Encouragment, encouragement!
Are the bars keto? Let’s just say thank God I only bought one to try.
“Holiday blooming” is such a lovely name for it!
Not sure about falling asleep tonight (sigh) but I was wearing Jean Patou Que sais-je today, still detectable and tonight I am in Jasmins Marzipane.
Aurora, I sure hope you can sleep well soon.
Thank you Lillyjo, I try to be philosophical about it.
Oh yuck! Another sleepless night? BOO!
I’m not sure what’s going on, I have sleeping ? tablets but only use them sparingly.
Understandable. I have Melatonin around for the same purpose, and I try not to use it if I don’t have to. I have noticed an improvement in my sleep quality since I started taking a magnesium supplement.
I have pushed up the thermostat to a “theoretically” comfortable 72F/22C. I say “theoretically” because I am still freezing while wearing a turtleneck and a sweater. I might take a hot shower, too. I had a medical appointment today (like a few of us) and now I am wafting Une Crime Exotique. I smell like gingerbread.
It is just TOO cold today. And it was freezing in the doctor’s office…they should provide electric blankets, honestly.
An aggravating Monday afternoon spent attempting to figure out why the @#$% printer and my @#$% laptop won’t communicate. Got Mr. Jalapeno involved, and it took him 90 minutes of poking around to figure it out.
We should have started by turning the @#$% printer off and back on again. Technology. It’s great when it works, but an utter pain in the tuckus when it doesn’t.
SOTD = SSS Incense Pure, from my BUB. My travel spray thunked itself. Not sure how much I lost due to evaporation.
I am right there with you — countless frustrating hours spent a week ago trying to print Chrismas card envelopes, printer and laptop were not communicating.
It seems that “smart devices” are “user hostile” sometimes!
Glad you got it figured out!
Mr. Jalapeno gets the credit for this time. I would have just said “Bleep it”.
You smell wonderful. I still have not figured out why my newer laptop is not communicating with my printer but since my older laptop is still functioning, I used it.
Thanks! I was very happy to have that 15mL BUB handy! I’d forgotten how calming Incense Pure is.
Ummagumma today – thunked the sample. I’ve added it to the “Buy” list which holds a small number of fragrances that hope to join my collection. It may or may not ever happen.
Long day of meetings so I’m off for a walk. I’ve made progress on my Christmas stress (all my own fault), but I’m not there yet.
Ummagumma is very nice!
Sotd is Angel Muse again. I was running late for work tonight and it was still handy.
My SIL is quite the baker, and my brother dropped off a bunch of Christmas goodies. Yay for bakers!
Especially for bakers in your immediate family! ?
Nice! You smell nice!
MossyBerry’s fragrant shopping escapade: I have been risk-tolerant during the COVID pandemic. I do follow our local mandates and I’ve always been close to an OCD case about hand washing and not touching my face. Having been vaccinated and boosted, I packed my purse with “Wet-Ones” and went to a large city 70 miles away to an actual mall to spray and test actual perfumes, soaps and other scented goodies for three hours. It was very crowded by the time I left. The mall’s rule was mask-optional for the vaccinated. One store specifically asked customers to wear masks so I did. Social distancing was do-able out in the mall, but I was in close quarters in one boutique store. I want to mention that this was the first time ever since falling down the rabbit hole that I entered a major department store’s perfume counter to collect test cards. It was very rewarding: many latest and greatest bottles were out and one could test at will – Creed, Diptyque, Chanel (thought it was just the regular line), Tom Ford, Sisley, Bond, MFK, Killian, Dior, Jo Malone and more. The understaffing issue was obvious, but the SA’s there were all very cheerful and helpful when you sought attention. My goal was to test perfumes and to buy luxury scented body creams. Alas, Guerlain products of any kind were unavailable in-store; and SA’s at two stores told me their store did not get much of a selection of any body products by Chanel. I bought Allure body lotion. SotD Allure body lotion, which is not as perfumed as I hoped but nicely moisturizing. (I wonder now if I should have got the Coco Noir body cream, but I was too worried about the grapefruit note.) Off to read comments – hope everyone’s week will be shorter for extra time off!
Sounds like you had fun!
Wow, it has been so long since I’ve done that that I can hardly remember the feeling! Hope you had a ball.

How does “Embers” sound for your owl?
That’s certainly a candidate!
Day 20 already! This month is flying by!
I know, right? Time flew!
