It's Tuesday and Willa Cather’s birthday. What fragrance are you wearing?
I am heading home from out of town today. Meanwhile I'm taking community project points for the fresh grasses in yesterday's Luctor et Emergo, and then more points for the iris in today's Imaginary Authors O, Unknown.
Reminder: on 12/10, for Emily Dickinson's birthday, wear a fragrance with a note she mentioned in one of her poems (helpful lists here, here, here).
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2021, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: shown is the "William Morris Anemone Large Teapot" — "a lovely large tea pot which holds 6 cups. A family size earthenware tea pot. Slip cast earthenware, handmade and decorated in the traditional manner in Stoke on Trent." £35 at The Great British Shop.
Good morning!
Sotd is Ballerina no.5. Points for roses today.
Currently drinking hojicha, roasted green tea.
You smell lovely! I have a sample of Ballerina No. 5 and quite like it.
now that is some teapot!
still in bathrobe wafting many scents while working.
post shower MM Petra.
They need better photographers, but agree it’s a lovely pot!
I decided to do chypres all week because Dickinson mentioned moss (yeah, it’s a stretch), so today I’m in 1991-vintage Boucheron Pour Homme EDP, one of those kitchen-sinky things they used to do with a little of everything in it, including a bunch of citrus at the top, a bunch of florals in the middle, and oakmoss running throughout. Does it smell old-fashioned or old-man to modern noses? Maybe. I don’t have a modern nose. But oh is it ever good!
Stretch away – my favourite part of any CP is people’s creativity.
Same here!
That sounds great.
I could do a chypre week any time, just wearing one today
Looking forward to hearing what else you will have for a Chypre Week!
DSH Red Carnations today – I suppose that somewhere in those 1000+ poems there might be mention of carnation or dianthus or clove pink…. if not, at least I am CP adjacent, because this scent is a flower bomb in the best possible sense. 🙂 Pretty flowers, cold frosty day… winter is upon us. Happy Winter, everyone, I hope your holiday preparations are going smoothly…
And now I need a William Morris teapot. Who knew? LOL. That thing is just cute. Cute, cute, cute.
I’ve been window shopping on Etsy, looking at men’s ties in Liberty of London textiles (lots of William Morris and William Morris-like designs). I might need one of those soon.
I love Liberty textiles! Gorgeous designs but the feel of their Egyptian cotton lawn — oh, my! I’m always on the prowl for boys’ shirts made from their fabric, since my son loves flowers and our culture, sadly, has largely decreed that boys shall not wear flowers. Thankfully, I’ve found a couple.
I have some gorgeous Liberty of London fabric that I’ve been “meaning to” make something from for YEARS. Maybe I’ll actually do it in 2022.
We should not mind so small a flower —
Except it quiet bring
Our little garden that we lost
Back to the Lawn again.
So spicy her Carnations nod-
So drunken, reel her Bees-
So silver steal a hundred flutes
From out a hundred trees-
That whoso sees this little flower
By faith may clear behold
The Bobolinks around the throne
And Dandelions gold.
We’re going to be relying on you all week for this, pyramus, just FYI. 🙂
Agreed! I know what to wear on Friday thanks to this ?
What a great poem! Thanks! And it uses that favorite word I noticed yesterday: bobolink!
OH, thank you so much! I knew they had to be in the body of work somewhere!
I’m continuing on with my supermarket scents in Old Spice. Yum!
Yum indeed! Supermarket/drugstore scents don’t get enough love. Some of them are fantastic.
Yep, plus, you get ED points too — carnation.
Safe travels home Robin! I love the colors on that teapot.
Drinking Harney Earl Grey on this cool, cloudy morning. I was in Curium by One of Those yesterday morning when it was muggy and warm. The front pushed through, so I added Baiser Vole Essence, which was just as cuddly and soft to wear as the Curium. Still in the Baiser Vole this morning.
Happy Tuesday, everybody!
Ah well, you had me there a moment with your drinking Horny Earl Grey. Then I reread your post. 😉
??
That front came through fast yesterday!
It really did, and it was quite windy! We didn’t get any rain out of it though.
Long day but I am home safe and sound, and got a decent cup of Earl Grey at a rest stop today 🙂
In CdG Avignon and enjoying my second cup of coffee on another busy, busy day at work.
Happy Tuesday! ?
You smell good!!!
Thank you! ?
Happy Tuesday pl67!?
Thank you, Mtg! ?
Happy Tuesday ladybug! You’re ready for anything; Avignon will keep you centered.
Thank you, Nancy! Avignon is keeping me in good shape today! ?
You smell great! Belatedly, I’m glad your booster shot didn’t keep you down yesterday 🙂
Thank you, Koyel! ?
Incense for the win!
Always! ?
Never got around to posting yesterday, but I was CP-compliant in a cloud of CBIHP A Room with a View. Violet and hay seemed like it would work for Emily Dickinson’s garden.
Not sure if I’ll stay with the violet theme today, or maybe shift to iris. I’ll have to figure something out soon, though — I have to shower and get ready for a long day of company-wide meetings at work. Robin, you may be inspiring me to pull out O, Unknown!
Good luck with your day of meetings!
A Room With a View is one of my favorite of CBs scents — thanks for reminding me about it!
O, Unknown seems perfect for a meeting actually!
I’m in VCA Bois d’Iris. Another decant that is suffering from evaporation. This one makes the cut for full bottle when it’s gone though, I love it.
We are late to the Ted Lasso party. We started watching it last week, a couple episodes at a time. Not only is it lol funny at times, but it leaves one with that warm and fuzzy good feeling. I’d give it 2 thumbs up.
I have still not seen it, but hard to believe I won’t succumb eventually 🙂
Making it easy on myself and piggybacking on Robin’s cp points in
O, Unknown!
On a separate note, and forgive me if this is fragrance blasphemy but I did some layering this weekend with Profumum Patchouly and O, Unknown! for a “Sticky Fingers” effect (also asking forgiveness from Francesca Bianchi).
The Patchouly is beautiful but sometimes too much of one thing and the iris in O, Unknown! softens it beautifully.
No forgiveness needed in these parts! Enjoy your layering – it’s fragrant creativity in my book. ?
🙂
I always love hearing about a good layering combo, thanks for sharing!
Hey twin!
Hello from a very stormy day here-it began with frost but now it’s fiercely wet and windy. I’m wearing Perris Monte Carlo Jasmin de Pays, drinking my third espresso of the day and pretending I’m somewhere else!
Keep cosy and enjoy Monte Carlo!
Thank you! It’s quite a nice place to be!
That’s a gorgeous jasmine!
I’m wearing Lolita Lempicka for another chilly, rainy day. I’m about to load Dapper into his carrier for a vaccination trip to the vet. Poor guy, he gets two jabs today.
Hope that Dapper’s Bogus Journey to the vet was a smooth one.
Heard from a family member on Sunday that my aunt’s sister had passed away. I wasn’t close to her and mostly saw her at Christmas or Thanksgiving at best. Have to talk to my manager today to take off Saturday for the funeral. Tried out Prada Candy yesterday and this morning. It’s more of along the lines of Infusion d’Iris. Wearing vintage no 19 edp today.
Sorry to hear about your aunt’s sister’s passing. I hope you get Saturday off with no drama.
Ach, this is sad news, sorry to hear it Dawn.
My sympathies on the passing of your family member.
I’ve finished the sample of Shalimar MVP sent to me by a generous NSTer. It is pretty, but I prefer the Jicky/Boy iterations of Guerlain’s great vanillas–both of those are more tinged with lavender.
This month I am the recipient of perfume bounty and adventure sent to me by people who did not really ask for anything in return. In perfume karma, that leaves things out of synch. In the name of Nefertum, therefore, I want to pass along my travel-sized bottle of (15 mls originally, but there are probably only 11 or 12 left) of Nicolai’s Angelys Pear.
If you would like it, are a regular contributor here on NST, and live in the CONUS, please email me at ann dottie eisenberg attagirl comcast dottie net.
There must be several perfumes named for Nefertum, the beautiful boy god of flowers and perfume.
Angelys Pear has a new home.
Teone Reinthal has a very lovely Nefertum perfume.
So I learned something new today, thanks to you. Had to look up Nefertum after I read your post!
Aerin Lilac Path for “It Will be summer—eventually”, which perfectly suits my aversion to the cold this year. This is a solid lilac, though much too expensive for what it is.
We’ve reached the point in December at which my son needs to talk about what Santa might be up to each day. His excitement makes everything more fun!
Oh, that’s adorable! My son arched his eyebrow at me earlier this year and said, “Santa is… kind of a concept, really?” so we haven’t been playing up the make-believe of it all, but maybe I should try harder…
I like your son’s response! I think you might have a budding philosopher in your midst…..
Smart cookie!
My son’s theory is that God (though we’re not very religious) employs Santa, the Easter Bunny, and maybe the Tooth Fairy to “look out for kids”.
That is so sweet!
They’re totally God’s subcontractors!
I always had my boys leave out a treat for Santa (from treats for his reindeer to a shot of whisky). One very hellish year when my younger son was quite ill, I told them I was a little worried about Santa getting down the chimney flue as ours was small and, well, Santa was reputedly not. So we left out carrots as well as milk and cookies. That night, after the boys went to bed, I made muddy hoof prints from the fireplace to the treats, and left tooth marks in one of the cookies, and took away all of the carrots except for little chewed up bits. The next morning I explained that obviously Santa had sent down one of his reindeer in his stead. He must have been worried about getting stuck in our chimney. Oh goodness the boys inspected and inspected those hoof prints! My younger son was out of his mind with excitement. He was six, but a young six.
That is fantastic. What a wonderful mother you are.
It’s so nice you did that. I still remember the Easter that us kids found a big bow on the front walk outside the house. We were sure the Easter Bunny had dropped it, but I know now that my parents put it there. Good memories.
Oh, thank you for telling us this story. Lovely!
This reminds me of Ron Carlson’s The H Street Sledding Record and how the narrator tosses manure on his roof and lawn to simulate reindeer poop on Christmas Eve for his kid. Great short story.
What a wonderful story <3
Oh, how magical! We do the half-eaten cookies and carrots, too, and last year, my husband set up new soccer shoes in our basement soccer goal with a note from Santa, claiming they were magic shoes—a fact my son should keep secret from other kids. He was delighted almost to the point of terror! He’s five this year, so I do sort of hope wonder lasts a bit longer.
I absolutely love that. Love it!!!
Enjoy it while you can!
I remember one year where Mr. Jalapeno played the part of Santa in a phone call to his nephews when they were little. He totally got into character for it!
I’m in Carthusia 1681 for its lovely herbal iris over a base of soft sandalwood.
That’s a nice one 🙂
I dug out a long-forgotten bottle of DSH Winter White. It’s so sweet and cozy – perfect for today’s bone-chilling weather.
She does so many great winter scents.
CP compliant today in Jacinthe de Saphir, although Wet Garden would have fit the day better. Still grey, but the grey is at least a slightly different texture after a bit of rain in the night, though still hugging the earth. I’m attending an in-person workshop this afternoon and don’t think I’ll bother trying to do anything professional with my hair — the swirling damps will just turn it into fuzz in two minutes. Booked solid for the workday until 7pm and feeling none too thrilled about that, but I’ll soldier through it, at least smelling good.
You mentioned a sweet grass the other day when Epidor was mentioned (hierochloe odorants or orientale, I think). I thought you might be interested that Sweet grass, Karetu, was one of the native grasses used here in Maori perfumes, as the bases of the Grand Maori Perfume, or worn as a plaited belt or necklace. Like your grass it doesn’t really smell of much when you first pick it ( and it just looks like long, weedy grass) but after an hour or so the coumarin comes through and once it dries a few blades can scent a whole room ( vanilla, almond, hay)
https://maoriplantuse.landcareresearch.co.nz/WebForms/PeoplePlantsDetails.aspx?PKey=b53d7c7f-206b-4685-94ea-e20528adb6b9
Have fun today!
Thanks for the link! Same genus as our native one, so probably quite similar. I haven’t tried drying any, but I do always carry it around in my pockets when I find it in the woods.
I’m in Diptyque Volutes for some comfy warmth and wisps of tobacco smoke.
It’s a delightful scent for winter.
It sounds so good. I like tobacco and might need this!
We’re twins, one day apart!

I was doing not very much yesterday so started tidying my bookshelves ( earthquake hazard is an understatement; everything is stacked and toppling and arranged in a system where my favourite books and poetry are at eye level and everything else takes it’s chances). Discovered a few Emily D titbits but no sign of a biography I can recommend by Lyndall Gordon Lives like Loaded Guns with examines the family relationships and feuds concerning Emily, her brother Austin, his wife and his mistress. It also raises the topic of her epilepsy.
https://www.theguardian.com/books/2010/feb/13/emily-dickinson-lyndall-gordon?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
Anyway, Emily D was a keen baker, liked making bread and puddings. One of her recipes is for gingerbread ( lots of molasses) and this recipe is for Black Cake , a rich fruit cake. So I’m going spicy today in Bapteme du Feu. This link tells you how to make it and has a pretty cat, too.
https://blogs.harvard.edu/houghton/baking-with-emily-d/
https://www.emilydickinsonmuseum.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Emily_Dickinsons_Gingerbread.pdf
The gingerbread recipe. It looks quite simple, and no sugar ( just molasses)
Yay! And you just helped me get CP points.
What an interesting recipe, for today’s standards! No-sugar for gingerbread just would not fly these days. I’m curious if tastes have really changed, or if back then, they would have served it with sugary accompaniments. Thanks for sharing!
I’d say the developed world’s use of sugar and salt would make folks in ED’s time have a stroke.
The recipe didn’t sound good up me but I had to check out the cat. Cute!
I think she also like coconut, for coconut cakes. She bought fresh coconuts ( same source as the molasses, I’m guessing).
Oh, thank you for all of this! I had decided on an SL perfume for Friday already but now tempted to change that to Baptême. Hmm. Also, I have read Gordon’s biography of Mary Wollstonecraft and that was good enough to make me want to read something else by her. Also, have you seen the recent-ish biopic by Terence Davies called A Quiet Passion? Cynthia Dixon plays Emily Dickinson and she’s really good-it feels like a proper film on its own terms, not just a biographical story. Maybe others have seen it and liked it too…it’s a good way in to her world if reading her poems doesn’t appeal!
I love Bapteme de Feu and gingerbread and molasses! Thank you for the recipe 🙂
Started with a spritz of SL Bas de Soie, which was not the best match for the morning’s chill rain. Put some JM Velvet Rose and Oud on the other arm and that is pretty warming.
I remember rather liking Velvet Rose and Oud when I tried a few of the “black bottle” Jo Malones a while back.
I’m hoping the rain has stopped after a couple of cold and wet days. I’ve decided on Stephane Humbert Lucas’s Taklamakan. It’s named after a desert, so I’m giving the rain a hint to stay away 🙂
Good thinking Gaynor!
Points for DSH American Beauty. A dear friend brought me a beautiful miniature rose plant yesterday, the flowers are red and white. Then another friend came over after her doctor’s appointment this morning and stayed well over an hour….in these days of Zoom and staying in, it’s been lovely to have time to visit irl.
Yay for having quality time IRL with good friends!
I thunked my sample of Lubin Kismet today. This one has grown on me. Or perhaps it is just better suited to colder weather. I last wore this in July and in my notes from then, I described it as a powdery vanilla marshmallow, but for some reason I don’t understand today, I wasn’t into that? The description holds for today’s wearing, and yes please I do want powdery vanilla marshmallows. I also get a dark chewy vanilla underneath it – perhaps from the labdanum? I would be very happy in a cloud of this and a cozy sweater.
Getting back on track with my F&M tea advent calendar; having the Rose Pouchong this afternoon. Has a definite rose aroma, but only a hint of rose flavor against the tea leaves, which is exactly how I like floral black teas. Had the Glenmaicha tea last night. The flavor was excellent, but the roasty aroma of Glenmaicha always seems too strong to me given the delicate flavor of the tea. I should probably drink them out of travel mugs with the lid on rather than from tea cups.
I can see that “powdery vanilla marshmallow” could be weather dependent. Sounds pretty good to me right now — we have had flurries off and on all day, but no accumulation.
That Rose Pouchong tea sounds rather interesting!
Their must have been a compost heap in Dickinson s garden, so I am wearing Chypre Mousse….
Oh, I love it! Poor CM gets a bad rap, but it’s so lovely and full of life! You smell fabulous ?
That’s an excellent choice for this CP!
Smelling gorgeous in my Nouez Moi. Coffee is plain black cafe bustello, sugar no milk. Yum!!
Thanks to Kanuka’s post, I will claim CP points for SL 5 O’clock au gingembre.
I got an estimate from UPS for shipping a 55-pound box from the US to Ireland. $396. Although that is comparable to the one “luxury” baggage shipping service I priced, it is more than twice the price of two others. (All get similar ratings.) It would be less expensive to pay for an extra checked bag on Aer Lingus, but the convenience of not having to schlep it around the airport — or on the bus from Dublin to Galway — may win.
On the up side, the news about Omicron seems to be getting slightly more optimistic, which improves the chances of the trip actually happening.
Forgot to say — I love that teapot. Just finished my second doppio espresso, and will switch to Upton’s organic peppermint for my next hot cuppa.
Yes that tea pot is gorgeous!
I really want to put william morris wallpaper somewhere in the house and am trying to convince Mr. Vee that wallpaper in a guest bathroom won’t get damaged by steam because that shower is used maybe monthly and not daily. A.S. Byatt’s The Children’s Book sent me down a william morris rabbit hole.
Oh my, that is steep!!!
Another incredibly busy work week, but I’m definitely procrastinating on NST right now. Much needed!
I’m wearing Nahema, from a most generous NSTer. It’s definitely wonderfully older Guerlain to me, and reminds me a bit of Samsara.
You smell all rosy goodness.
Wonderful SOTD! ???
La Chasse aux Papillons because Two Butterflies went out at Noon.
Not really a scent for a day that started out and 7 and is now a balmy 14 degrees (F), but it’s cheery. The husband brought home more lights for the tree last night because the ones we had wouldn’t stop twinkling. After I thought I was done, he pointed out small bare spots, etc. From the couch, I might add. I added another strand this morning and will allow no more critique. Ornaments next, and then set up of the village at the bottom of the tree.
Next door neighbor’s dog is barking intermittently, which only bothers because I was hoping for a repeat visit by the group of whitetail deer in our backyard. They were gathered yesterday afternoon to snack on the smashed pumpkins we placed back there. Great fun watching them.
I still remember being a kid of about five watching deer at a salt lick at Brown County State Park in Indiana! My mom was sitting in a chair, I was standing between her knees as she hugged me while we both watched without saying a thing. I find deer just magical! One of my best childhood memories. ☺️
Agree! Great memory.
That is probably why the dog is barking, the deer are probably lurking in the bushes, but he knows they are there…
SOTD is Tauer’s Sundowner. This is the first solo wearing since it arrived. The last time I tested with a bunch of other stuff that may have muddied the waters a bit. The mini bottle is adorable but the cap is a bit finicky. 3 swipes and I’m good to go. Lots of nice tobacco up front so we shall see what the dry down brings.
Happy Tuesday to all and ADORABLE teapot! I’m glad I don’t really drink much hot tea because I can imagine a teapot obsession brewing (get it?! ?) which would not go well with my limited space!
You smell wonderful!
Hi, twin – Sundowner is becoming a favorite Chez Mossy – Mr. Mossy even commented how nice it was!
I love doing teapot tuesday because I have 3 pots and won’t let myself get another until one breaks, so of course they never do!
Wearing Queen of the Night, putting this on I always want a full bottle but once it gets to the dry down I always change my mind because it is so similar to Ann Gerards Ciel d’Opale (which I do have a full bottle of). Anyway I smell gorgeous even though I say so myself.
You smell great! Found my bottle of Queen of the Night when I was rummaging around yesterday.
Hey money saved!
I put on Fragonard Deima this morning, copious amounts, but it’s so weak I can’t smell it any more. So I’ve put on the two most recent Jorum samples, Elegy and Pentimento. Elegy smells powdery and floral, mostly rose and bergamot to my nose. Pentimento is a slightly sweet floral, apparently with tonka, tiaré and broom. Both pleasant, but Pentimento is more to my taste.
What pretty names these two perfumes have.
Elegy was not available even as a sample when I ordered. Pentimento is wonderful!
CP points for me, for the iris in Tiffany & Co. It’s such a classic, elegant scent. I went into the office in person today and it was just perfect. I love the William Morris teapot! Actually, I love almost anything with William Morris designs. I’ve just hung new lace curtain panels in our restored living room and dining room that are made in his Cherwell pattern, but in off-white lace. I’m so pleased with how they look!
I’m thinking I have the original too somewhere here. Have you tried the Rose Gold. I have a sample which I have to try again because I don’t remember what it smelled like. I think there’s grapefruit?
Oh, jealous of your curtains! That is such a great pattern. They would not really go in my house but I do love them.
The pedigree of Honey
By Emily Dickinson
The pedigree of Honey
Does not concern the bee;
A clover, any time, to him
Is aristocracy.
CP compliant today in an indie perfume from Death & Floral. It’s called Autumn Honey, it may not be the most complex but it’s pleasant, and it gets points from me because it has lasted for over 6 hours!
Lovely poetry quote from you today!
2nd that, thanks Adrihazel.
Thanks to both Kanuka and skalolazka, I am taking cp points in what I was already wearing: SL Five o’clock au gingembre. I go back and forth on this one (and only recently complained to allo about how I sometimes think it smells aftershave-y, but I so wanted to own a bottle of SL that even though I have decants of a few of his others, I bought the 5 o’clock even with misgivings). Maybe I can learn to love it.
Sadly, I can’t handle caffeine very well, so my two favorite teas of the moment are: Equal Exchange Organic Rooibos which I look forward to every afternoon (with just a bit of half and half) and Tazo Dream (lavender, valerian, chamomile and almond) which I look forward to most evenings in the cooler weather. Love today’s teapot!
Rooibos with cream is so delicious!
I am in another oil perfume that I brought down with me; today it is Royal Apothic Green Tea. I’m slathering it on in hopes of making some dents.
I received my 2 pairs of glasses today. These are ‘extras’ so I just went for basic lenses, no transition coloring or coating either. Years ago when we were in Mexico I lost my glasses in the ocean on day 2 of a 10 day trip. Yup, that happened! I ordered these online and they seem great!
Ugh, I ought to get a new pair of glasses, since my RX changed. It’s on the “To Do” list, taunting me…
Spent the day in Cartier Baiser Volé essence de parfum with its dominant vanilla and it is still going strong but tonight I have applied Hugo Boss Deep Red so I’m thinking of Jalapeno who loves this warming, cosy scent.
We both were in a mood for cozy & warming today!
Yes? we’re twins for the mood we wanted in our perfumes.
Deep Red is a real gem.
It really is special isn’t it, so grateful Jalapeno made me discover it.
Chilly today! The salt trucks were doing their thing over in Philadelphia this afternoon. Maybe we will get some flurries tomorrow; maybe not. I am glad that last night’s wind is long gone!
I found a couple more dregs samples while poking around in The Sample Stash earlier today. Added them to the Sample Queue.
SOTD = Papillon Artisan Bengale Rouge, from the sample stash. Wanted something warm and cozy today.
Great choice! And I’m sure Emily Dickinson had something to say about cats …
Thanks OH!
House twins!
Great minds and all that… ???
Indubitably! ?
You smell veddy veddy good!
Thank you veddy much! ?
Salt truck drivers are my heroes!
I think this is the first time here this fall/winter that they were called out.
Going to Zoo Lights tonight so I’m wearing Slinky Carnation for its animalics
What is Zoo lights?
The Denver Zoo has lots of Christmas lights, some shaped like animals. I liked it better than the lights at the Botanic Gardens which I saw last week
I had to go commando today so just applied my dregs of Anubis. I have the feeling this will keep me up into the wee hours, which is fitting.
You smell nice!
Thank you!
It’s a bluetiful teapot!
SOTD = Atelier Cologne Emeraude Agar
I can’t remember the last time I wore this! It’s an oldie but goodie with spicy woud roses and pepper pepper pepper!
https://www.instagram.com/hajusuuri/p/CXM4AAsuNFP/?utm_medium=copy_link
And the wooden owl card pictured is from our very own MossyBerry. I want to know how she knew I’m an owl person ???!
Well my Mommy and Daddy were very smart, so likely ’cause that! I know you smell wonderful, because I never met an Atelier I did not like! 😀
Thank you!
You picked a good SOTD for our chilly weather today! And what a cool card! ?
The card is really cool. It was between Emeraude Agar and Rose Anonyme!
The card and bottle are a perfect match!
I think so too!
SotD – again – Sundowner. A fun day with one of my oldest friends shopping for basics but picking up a few holiday treats as well. I love Emily Dickinson’s poems – and wonder if she was not a “recluse” – but maybe – someone who was grateful that she had a place in the world that she loved and was sustaining to her and she did not care to venture beyond. That is something we all can achieve.
You smell wonderful!
That is a lovely way to look at it!
It was 17 degrees when I woke up. Now it is 23! Thankfully it will be warmer tomorrow.
I wore Narciso White Cube for a very long day. I can still smell it on my sweater sleeve.
ZOMG! The Real Feel temp around here this morning was 27, which you didn’t even get up to. I’m gonna quit kvetching about my weather for a while!
It’s not even officially winter yet! Ugh..
That is cold! How are you feeling?
I am feeling better this week. Thank you for asking.
Today had a playdate with my dear friend and Her daughter, along my daughter of course. I gave them their christmas presents a little early I guess they opened them a little early and loved the gifts.
And me? I am already thinking of getting a BUB of Nouez Moi. Crazy thing is I fell in love with it from a bag of samples from the most generous NSTer, I really just went nuts with it. Nuts with the House of Sillage in general but this Nouez Moi is the only perfume I even want to wear anymore… So raw, so perfect. Just I am happy when I smell Nouez Moi. I already made a dent in my bottle. The best stuff!!
It’s always great to smell something that feels like “you”
