Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who is celebrating today!
Whether you’re celebrating or not, feel free to talk about anything you like: what fragrance you’re wearing today, what perfume you're especially thankful for, what you’re going to cook or eat today...whatever you like, so long as it doesn’t conflict with our comment policy.

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving to my U.S. friends! I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday.
There will be just three of us going out to dinner later on this evening, I may even wear a spritz of Night Magic by Avon; that is the only perfume I have that is not in my regular rotation and only use for special occasions.
Enjoy a lovely dinner out! I love not doing the dishes and cleanup on a holiday!
Wearing Hermes Ambre Narguile.
I am so grateful for this wonderful community that I couldn’t let the day pass without stopping by.
I have been MIA because of my mother’s health situation. Perfumes, especially at night time, have been of great comfort and support lately. I am glad they are part of my life.
We are not gathering this year to celebrate Thanksgiving, but my two sisters, without their families, will stop by later to have a slice of pumpkin pie and coffee at my mother’s bedside. Despite the difficulties, we are very grateful not only for the good but also for the bad moments in our lives. So much to be thankful for!
I am wishing you all a happy, healthy and blessed Thanksgiving! Hope to be back here soon! ????
Sending you fragrant hugs P67.
Take care pl67, thinking of you.
Happy Thanksgiving pl67.
Thinking of you and your Mother.
Happy Thanksgiving! Glad to hear you and your mother will be able to celebrate with family.
You smell wonderful, pl67. I’m sorry you have been going through this, but so glad you and your sisters will be able to spend some time together today <3
Thinking of you and your family!
Sending you love and hugs! I’m so sorry you’re going through this difficult time, but glad you and your mother will be able to spend some quality time with family.
Sending gentle hugs to you today, pl67.
Sending hugs and gratitude for you:)
you smell wonderful in AN!
have a lovely day, i hope you find many happy moments.
Sending you and your family hugs.
Hope you will have a comforting moment with your sisters at your mother’s bedside. Ambre Narguilé seems like a Good one to wear today.
Thinking about you PL67.
Thanks for checking in and letting us know how you’re doing. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. I’m glad to hear that scents are bringing you comforts these days!
We are grateful for *you* PL67! Your grace, compassion and optimism are inspiring. Wishing you a happy thanksgiving.
So glad you and your sisters will spend time together with your mother. Hugs to you all.
I’m glad you are all finding comfort in the little things, sending hugs.
Hugs to you and your family, especially to your mom.
Sending you hugs. I’m glad that you and your sisters are getting together this evening.
So glad you could all be together for pie and coffee! Stay strong pl67.
Thank you, Robin!
I hope the pie and coffee were peaceful and delicious! Always good to see your comments.
Thank you for updating us, and I hope you, your mother, and sisters enjoy the pie and coffee.
Great big hugs to you, PL67.
Happy Thanksgiving and Indigenous People’s Day to folks who celebrate either. We are having Thanksgiving here at our place this year, at the request of my mother-in-law. Fine with me. I like to host! I get a quiet morning and then must bustle about as folks are arriving. Never have figured out another way to do it with Thanksgiving–can’t make the mashed potatoes or gravy in advance, so they’re always being done while people are wanting to meet-and-greet. Not exactly a problem in our current house, there’s room in the kitchen for folks to say hi and stay out of my way, mostly.
I haven’t settled on a perfume for the day, yet. I’ve been wearing Akro Dark and Arielle Shoshana Sunday a lot this week, as they are new purchases. But both are so gourmande. Not sure I want to distract from the lovely turkey smells that much. Maybe I’ll dig out the Tea for Two, which is still foody, but more smoke and spices, which sounds like a better compliment to the smells of the kitchen.
The timing of everything getting done is where it gets tricky for me. Tea for Two sounds perfect! We will be L’ Artisan twins.
Hello house twin!
I have about 20 years of notes piled up and folded inside my cookbook at this point, with turkey weights and cook times and all the other details. A few years ago, I summarized it onto one sheet, and it’s my Thanksgiving lifesaver. Without it, my timings would all be a guess, but with it, I get close enough. This year, 21# turkey, I can expect 6-6.5 hours to roast. Helps make everything else go to plan (or good enough). The challenge for me is how to negotiate gravy, mashed potatoes, and yams, when they all need *something* at about the same time, and it’s just when everyone arrives and wants to chat with me! Oh well, they can see I’m cooking.
ooooh, I could imagine Sunday going well…

Pl67 if it’s ok, I will dibs.
Absolutely! It is yours! No need to email me! ?
I’ll be wearing Safran Troublant today. Those spices seem very turkey day appropriate.
This year I’m most thankful that my three kiddos are all home, and healthy and happy. Last night they all sat together at the dining room table and played cards. I just sat and watched, it made me so happy.☺️ Thinking of the families just sixty miles away whose hearts are breaking. I’m sure many of you have seen the news from my state. Senseless and tragic.?
This year I decided to try the life hack of cooking my turkey ahead of time. I made it last Sunday along with the gravy and will reheat it today and just make all the sides. I sliced my thumb open pretty bad when I was carving it. I probably should have gotten stitches because it keeps trying to re-open. I’m using it as my excuse to stay out of the kitchen as much as possible today. lol
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. I hope your thumb will be ok.
I am very sad for those families. I keep thinking how the holidays are forever changed for them now. So very sad.
My thoughts too. Just horrible.
Oof, hope that heals quickly and safely!
I almost reached for Safran Troublant today — it’s a perfect Thanksgiving accompaniment!
I shamelessly stole your idea and am wearing Safran Troublant. I’m thrilled to hear that all the madtownkids are home.
Wisconsin has had a rough week. Sending good vibes in your direction.
Gladyou have all your children with you this year. Ouch for your thumb, hope it will heal quickly in spite of not getting stitches.
Happy Thanksgiving to the reunited family!
Hope your finger heals ok.
Ouch, be careful with that finger! We still talk about the year my mom sliced hers with the mandoline doing scalloped potato and refused to go for stitches until after dinner 🙂
I hope your thumb heals quickly!
Happy Thanksgiving, Friendsgiving, and Indigenous People’s Day to folks who celebrate. My SOTD is the original Fendi vintage extrait. Makeup is Chanel, and I’m wearing a vintage Ugo Correani necklace (multi-colored resin pebbles).
We are headed over to a friend’s house for supper and a celebration, they just purchased a house. I’m bringing a roasted butternut squash and brussels sprouts w/ cranberries salad (link to recipe posted yesterday). I tweaked the recipe, I added a touch of orange rind and Pomegranate Molasses to add zing.
I’m thankful for the lovely NST community, a roof over my head, and Family & Friends who love me. My class started last night, it should be fun! It’s my final class and them I’m DONE! I’m thankful for that also.
Coffee consumed and I’m headed to the gym for a quick workout. 🙂
Everyone have a lovely day today!
I admire your commitment to the gym. This being the laziest of the holidays. ( for the people not cooking, lol)
Your sprouts dish sounds great! I finally got a bottle of pomegranate molasses, and it’s sitting unloved in the pantry. Must fix that situation. ?
As a fan of tart and sweet, pomegranate molasses is soooo delicious! I use it in all sorts of dishes and sauces.
squash, sprouts, and cranberries! sounds delicious, I love them all.
hope the gym was good for you, you’ve inspired me to get out of the house and on my bike for a gentle ride, so here! I! go! 🙂
I just got back, the gym was packed!
Here’s the recipe. 🙂
https://juliasalbum.com/maple-butternut-squash-roasted-brussels-sprouts-pumpkin-seeds-and-cranberries/?fbclid=IwAR2VkZMMOTSqEtpDXIkxgDzFnLCgEd_t-J00rUE0a2ngge1QqiAqgW86lvs
yum, thank you for the recipe. 🙂
my neighborhood bike path was packed,
everyone is working up a good appetite!
I put the turkey in the oven about an hour ago. Then I looked way up at my giant son and said I love you more than anything but I cannot make another turkey ever. If you want next year you can try and make it yourself. He looked down at me and said ” can we have ham?” LOL, yes! We can have ham. My sotd is Cuir de Lancome from a generous nster.
I am so thankful for my family, my home, and the people of NST.
Love it! Definitely ham going forward. 🙂 Ockeghem Tween did exactly what I predicted yesterday — came home, saw all the stuff on the counter, and when she found out I was cooking Thanksgiving dinner today, she said “Don’t bother with chicken or anything, we can just eat stuffing!”
The stuffing is my favorite part of the meal, too. Yum!
Lol! My daughter feels the same way. Stuffing and rolls!
I’m an adult and so do I!
Ha, great story. Ham it is for next year!
And for Christmas!
Oh, your son spoke the magic words! Ham is much easier than turkey! ?
I’m all about the pre-cooked! Lol. Takes away the accidental poisoning worry! Plus I don’t have to stick my hand in anything!
Your son is fantastic.
Aww.. thanks!?
Good luck ? with the turkey ? Lillyjo, think of next year, yay to ham.
It turned out pretty good!
Can’t say the same for the pumpkin pie lol
I feel the same way about turkey. Our oven is too small and 10 days of leftovers is too long. Have a happy day with your kids!
Thank you!
Happy Thanksgiving Lillyjo!
P.S. I bought cooked ham this year for the same reason.
Happy Thanksgiving!
LOL! This is my husband’s preference too – a ham from Costco. 🙂
I should probably get a membership.
Or get a courtesy pass – not sure if you get a big box discount.
Ohh, their hams are yummy! And the bone for lentil soup after is the best.
I honestly don’t know how I can still talk about food. I ate an insane amount of food tonight. I don’t know where I put it all.
Your turkey should be about done now ?. Happy Thanksgiving!
Lol!
Ironically, this is probably the best turkey I have ever cooked! ( it’s trying to get on my good side)
Happy Thanksgiving!
Glad it turned out well!
SotD Guerlain’s Epices Volees from a set of samples sent by a generous NST’er (is there any other kind?) so a bit of perfumed thankfulness since I would not have sought this one and am having a lot of fun with it. Menu Chez Mossy will be roast beef with roast vegetables, mashed potatoes, green peas (I must eat them on Thanksgiving Day), deviled eggs, olives, cheese, of course dessert-o-rama: pecan and pumpkin pies and a wild blackberry tart. Coffee to stay awake for a movie later. We like turkey, but a small roast is easier! Will try to pop in to read everyone’s comments as the day rolls on. I am thankful for NST (and so much else) and I hope everyone has the day off and don’t toil in the kitchen TOO much.
Your menu sounds great. Happy Thanksgiving MB!
I would much rather have roast beef than turkey, but husband insists on turkey! Oh well. We spatchcock ours (serious eats recipe) so it isn’t really much bother and it cooks in about 80 minutes, and for the last couple years, I’ve been picking up gravy at a local bistro so we don’t have that last minute bother.
No SOTD yet, but some remnants of Jubilation 25 from yesterday.
We’re having our second Not Thanksgiving of the year. (We always visit my dad in the US over Canadian Thanksgiving, and then have US Thanksgiving dinner in Canada.) The pumpkin pie ice cream is churning now, I’m about to start on the apple pie, and then on to starting the cloverleaf rolls and toasting the bread for stuffing. The chicken is in a buttermilk brine, and I’m trying a new way of making mashed potatoes this year (steaming the potatoes). Needless to say, I’ve taken today off of work!
Happy Thanksgiving / Indigenous People’s Day to everyone celebrating! I’m thankful for a healthy family and a kitchen that is functional (if still not finished after 7 months), as well as this community of lovely people!
This meal sounds ?, hope you will have time to enjoy it.
We do the same – Canadian thanksgiving in the US, as it avoids the travel nightmare of trying to do it on US thanksgiving.
Happy Thanksgiving and Indigenous People’s Day – I will be celebrating both in Theorema.
A little lower key here than usual – only 3 of us and son is helping to cook – I did an early morning weights class offered by the university where I work and now making my green bean salad.
Thanks to Robin for NST and to all of you for being part of NST and sharing all the joy that perfume brings!
Excellent fragrance choice — you smell wonderful!
Thank you for being part of the community 🙂
Hope the low key Thanksgiving was lovely!
Happy Thanksgiving, although it’s no thing here in Germany.
I grabbed my bottle of Bottega Veneta this morning, because I was in a hurry and it was in the front row. Got a CATscan yesterday and a lung function test today, nothing pathological found. But I developed a slight contrast allergy, so got a strong antihistamines and cortison and was nearly knocked out the rest of the day. But today I’m fine again.
Now making a huge pot of minestrone for dinner.
You are always cooking something delicious, tannina!
Sorry to hear about your reaction and the effects of the antihistamines, but that’s great news about your test results! Enjoy your minestrone; it’s a popular item around here (and the best way I’ve found to get a certain small person to eat lots of dark leafy greens).
So happy your scan came back negative! I’m wishing you a steady recovery and hope you’re able to get back to your baseline soon. Sorry to hear about the contrast reaction. That can be pretty dang unnerving.
Your minestrone soup sounds like just the thing! Maybe I’ll stop by for a bowl..?
You smell great! Glad the test results were good. I love minestrone. 🙂
You smell great but boo hiss on the reaction.
Glad for those good health results!
Wishing everyone in the U.S a Happy Thanksgiving.
I’m wearing Encens Suave from Matiere Premiere today.
Thanks lucasai!
I don’t know the perfume but I will at some point!
Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate! We’re having grilled pork loin, Hasselback potatoes, cooked carrots, Brussels sprouts, cornbread and pumpkin cake for dessert. I have a cajun inspired bean dip in the oven to nibble on with tortilla chips until everyone arrives. Im not making all of this; we have talented cooks in the family!
I’m in Chanel Eau de Cologne. I couldn’t make up my mind this morning, and EdC goes with pretty much anything.
I’m very thankful for NST and this wonderful community of folks all over the world. ❤️
you win in Chanel EdC, it’s the perfect choice.
I’m on Team Brussels sprouts, but nobody else in my family will eat them, so more for me. 🙂
My husband brought me around to joining team Brussels sprouts . The ones I ate as a child were horrible, but when he makes them they’re not only edible, but downright tasty!
yay! it’s all in the method. 🙂 I like sprouts just about any way they can be cooked, my favorite is to toss them with herbs and olive oil then bake on a sheet pan.
Happy Thanksgiving Nancy!
Happy Thanksgiving to you too adanst!
Happy Thanksgiving, nancyleandros!
Happy Thanksgiving hajusuuri! I’m impressed with your advent calendar skills!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving lillyjo! I’m glad your turkey turned out well. ?
Hasselback potatoes, I’ll be right over!
My stepmother did a lovely brussel sprout salad with raisins and toasted walnuts.
Oh yum, our sprouts were roasted and topped with walnuts!
Happy day to all, whatever you’re celebrating! I’m so thankful for this community and for all the perfume knowledge, generosity, and kindness that gets passed around daily. I’m in Paestum Rose today, simply because rose perfumes make me happy. Little Biscuit and I are making an and apple and quince pie for our afternoon snack, and lasagna bolognese for dinner — I made use of my early-morning caffeine buzz to get the pasta dough, béchamel, and pie crust made and stashed in the refrigerator for later, and we made a meat sauce a few days ago so our lasagna components are all ready to go. Now we’re heading out into the sunshine and melting frost for a little romp before we build our pie. I always let my son decide what we draw on the top crust with the point of my paring knife — we tend to have a lot of pies with fire engines carved on top. 🙂
The only conundrum of the day is, do I open a bottle of champagne even though we’ll have no guests? I think so, yes?
Yes to champagne, always! ? Have a lovely day with your Little Biscuit today!
i love the smell of quince. Your pie will be delicious!
Champagne heck yeah!
I’m pretty sure that’s the motto on our family coat of arms!
Pleasure without champagne is purely artificial.
Oscar Wilde.
LOL! Good old Oscar Wilde.
Wonderful!
❤️!
lol at fire engine pie crust. It’s always a good time for Champagne imo.
You smell wonderful — one of my favourites!
I love the fire engine pie crust! And definitely champagne to accompany it.
He opted for a bicycle for this particular pie, and I did a reasonably good job, but every time I’m asked to draw a bike I get nervous and think of these 3D renderings of peoples’ attempts to recall what a bike frame looks like: https://www.fastcompany.com/3059056/you-cant-draw-a-bike-and-we-can-prove-it
Sounds like a perfect day planned, definitely top it off with some champagne!
A strong YES! to opening the champagne! ?
Your son has such an awesome mom! Happy Thanksgiving to you both!
Aw shucks, thank you!
Another vote yes for ?!
Seems unanimous, so it would be downright undemocratic for me to do otherwise than pop that bottle open…
A big belated champagne yes! Hope you and your son had a lovely Thanksgiving.
Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate and a lovely regular day to those who don’t!
My partner G and I are going to his parents’ house for dinner (they live in the same city). My mother-in-law (I call G’s family my in-laws because they might as well be!) is a phenomenal cook and is making roast chicken, veggies, and an assortment of desserts. I’m almost more excited that they have a stash of original recipe Coke Zero! I haven’t been able to find it anywhere, and the new formulation is awful IMO. Our kitten Momo will be receiving a pureed tuna tube as his T-Day treat when we get home.
Like others on this thread, my SOTD is L’Artisan Tea for Two.
can I join you? 🙂 you had me at assortment of desserts! I would skip the turkey (if my family would let me) and just eat sweets all day.
I eat a token amount of vegetables so I can eat all the desserts in good conscience. 🙂
ha! same here, and I count the sugary sweet potatoe casserole as a veggie. 🙂
You smell wonderful.
I read from bottom up and saw tuna tube and decided it must be a THING until I read through your entire post and realized it’s a treat for your cat ?.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you at NST and fellow readers on the blog 🙂
I’m wearing Byredo’s 1996…perfect warm scent for a cold day here in Denmark 🙂
stay warm! you smell wonderful. 🙂
Indeed✨?✨
Enjoy your pies ?
Super jealous here (no stores in Denmark-at least in my town have amazing pies ??
That’s a great scent. You smell fabulous.
Thank you guys ?
Stay warm was well ?
It is a wonderful perfume indeed and one of the few from Byredo that I truly love ? (for me 1996 is the colour purple…it just makes sense to me)
You smell great!
SotD = SDV!!!
I’ve been wearing Spiritueuse Double Vanille several times every week since the split. It’s delicious without smelling like food, my favorite kind of perfume. I keep the decant in my purse so I can top up often. Thank you to the wonderful cazaubon for bringing this lovely scent into my life. I’ve wanted to try it for years.
Today will be quiet. My extended family is at my parents’ golf condo for the week. I had to work on Monday and Tuesday so stayed home. Had my covid booster plus flu shot on Tuesday and ended up needing a lot of rest to recover, so it was good to sleep in my own bed.
Dinnertime will be spent with my sweetie and a few close friends. I make a game out of trying not to eat too much all day long so that I have room for pumpkin pie and apple pie late tonight. Pies are my favorite treat.
Wishing everyone a day full of sweetness. I’m thankful for all of you!
Double pie twins – all your good food will build up your strength after the booster shot. 😀
yes! pumpkin pie is full of vitamin A 🙂
Hope you are stuffed full of pie by now tiffanie! We had chocolate pecan pie plus my favorite thing, pumpkin flan. With whipped cream, even better.
yup, stuffed! I’m always full of food even before we sit down to Thanksgiving dinner. All those little bites during cooking add up.
Very jealous of your pumpkin flan! I adore pumpkin desserts and love a good flan, together they sound heavenly.
I forgot to buy whipped cream so we had to make do with vanilla ice cream on everything. 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving everyone…a day set aside for gratitude. And I am thankful. We are having light snow, which has been nice to watch. I’m chopping up the Brussels sprouts and about to start peeling potatoes.
Unsure on scent choice today. Under consideration: Cuir de Lancôme (my go-to special occasion scent), Kiss Me Intense, Shalimar MVP and Bengale Rouge. All are so very good. Such an abundance!
I like brussels sprouts any old way, but I had them once in a gastropub in Seattle where they’d prepared them by cutting them into ribbons and sautéeing them with green onions and quite a lot of butter, and it was heavenly.
Oooh. I bet that was delicious. Mine are just tossed with olive oil and garlic and roasted. I thought about adding bacon but forgot to buy it.
I’m in vintage Cabochard this morning thanks to the lovely and generous lillyjo. And like lillyjo, I’m not crazy about turkey — in fact, I’ve never liked stuffing either! Mr. G is the chef around here, and we’re hosting only the elder Jr. G for Thanksgiving this year, so we’re having a ribeye roast (Mr. G’s favorite) with pan-roasted new potatoes (my contribution) and sauteed asparagus. Very simple and laid back. And wine. Not sure what dessert will be, but I see a pineapple on the kitchen island so Mr. G must have something in mind. Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate, and Happy Friday Eve to those who don’t. ?
Smelling great! Happy Thanksgiving!
Your dinner sounds lovely, and I will always vote for simple and laid back 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving! Had to finish up some cleaning projects and now leaving to pick up a family member for Thanksgiving dinner. In Eau Premiere with no 5 body products.
Happy Thanksgiving Dawn!
Oh you smell lovely
Sending hugs and happy cooking vibes to everyone wrestling with ovens today. I hope your day is happy. Thank you all for your company and chat! I am in yesterday’s spritz of CDG Rouge on one wrist and Kaws on the other , sprayed in store. Mirror is very powdery and has a hint of laundry. Rouge is more identifiably CDG and reminds me a little of one of their older scents, maybe White ( not sure) but with an earthier/root opening. Anyway, I bought a summer skirt instead. Kind of regret that already as I always feel a bit awkward in skirts and dresses but the fabric has a 50s floral curtains vibe, and, worst case scenario would make great cushion covers.
You could pull a reverse Scarlet O’Hara and make home decor out of your clothing!
Hugs back to you, Kanuka. Love your plan B for the summer skirt ?
I’m going to recommend:
https://www.darngoodyarn.com/collections/skirts/products/sari-silk-wrap-skirts
These skirts are recycled from saris that have been discarded. They are so beautiful and colorful! Very forgiving size-wise as they are wrap skirts. I have two and absolutely love them!
Hope you have a great day ?
Thank you so much for the report on Kaws, if there is a hint of laundry I will put it right out of my mind. (It was probably going to leave my mind of its own accord anyway, but this will hasten its departure.)
Skirt sounds fun, but I buy them and don’t wear them too so you were smart to buy one that would make good pillow covers.
I’m in Safran Troublant today, which I copied from madtowngirl.
The menu is roast chicken, stuffing, mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts, cranberry sauce (homemade), a tart and a pie. For two people.
I am so thankful for health, my family and friends, and this great community of warm, kind souls. Thank you all for your grace, kindness and humour.
You smell great and your menu sounds wonderful Sistine! Happy Thanksgiving!
Perfect dinner!
Happy time off day! My SOTD is DSH’s Omelets Rouges, carnations by any other name still smell fabulous, right? My holiday plans includes Marie Callendar chicken pot pies for dinner today- adorable hubby regards these as a huge treat, bless him!’ Many naps and more or less dulsatory housecleaning while catching up on TV viewing is the agenda for the rest of the weekend. We were headed to family’s house, but someone there came down sick, so we have a splendid chance to stay home, not spend money and relax. I do have a 13 lb Turkey defrosting- I will stick an apple and an onion in it and cook it in one of those roasting bags Sunday and cut it up for sandwiches and all the non-sandwich ready bits will go to curried Turkey stroganoff. That’s my plan and I am sticking to it. Happy long weekend, everyone!
Turkey Stroganoff sounds delicious and creative use of the turkey.
Curried stroganoff — what an interesting idea!
Apples, onions, mushrooms sautéed in butter with curry powder, a little garlic. Add chopped up Turkey, a little splash of apple juice or dry white wine if it needs juices, sour cream or Greek yogurt, heat till all bubbly, serve on noodles or rice, or toasted buns, yum yum.
Happy Thanksgiving American friends. It’s great fun to read what everyone is preparing meanwhile I made crêpes and having them for dinner with melted swiss cheese for savoury and apricot jam for sweet.
I wore Laura Mercier Vanille during the day and tonight it’s Weil Suki Essence, it’s one of the joys of the perfume universe that something incredibly affordable smells incredibly good.
Yum, I love crepes!
Yum to crepes!
That sound delicious! The US needs a holiday that involves crepes.
Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate!
I’m feeling very grateful for many things: family, health, jobs, and always lively and fragrant chatter on NST! My sister is doing most of the cooking today, and I’m definitely very thankful for that too.
I need to go on a walk soon before ALL the food. ? I will wear Aedes de Venustas when I get back; feeling like something zingy and it’s one of the travel sprays I brought with me.
I love the original AdV. It’s the only one that works well for me.
Happy Thanksgiving/Indigenous Day to all in the US. Hope everyone has a spectacular day with family and friends, pets, or solo if you prefer to dig in and avoid all the family get together nonsense.
We are having a quiet one with a long walk and some tasty chicken skin for the doggo.
I started shopping early with a massive order from Paula’s Choice. Great savings and nice couple of GWP.
I’m in MVP and smelling fine! ?
Happy Thanksgiving Deva and T-rex!
Thank you! And right back at you and to your whole family! Hope your bird turned out okay!
Happy Thanksgiving to my US friends! I’m going to my SIL’s for supper. Since I’m the baker, I always bring the buns and pie.
Perfume today is Ummagumma. Busy plotting my purchases for tomorrow. 🙂
Enjoy your dinner with your SIL, I bet the pie will be spectacular.
Have a great day! Please let us know how your plotting turns out. I love hearing what fragrances folks buy!
Happy Thanksgiving Cazaubon!
Have fun! Are there any good perfume discounts tomorrow?
So many! Fragrancebuy.ca, Indigo Perfumery, Beverly Hills Perfumery, Max Aroma, Niche Essence, and many more.
Thanks! Off to check those out.
Thank you all for your beautiful messages. They are deeply appreciated! It has been very cheerful to read all your dinner preparations and how you are spending the day, even if you do not celebrate. Hugs!
❤??
♥
Holiday greetings to all who are celebrating! Our take-out dinner from the local restaurant (picked up yesterday, reheated today) was outstanding. I shocked myself by enjoying the marshmallow-topped butternut squash — the marshmallows were made at the restaurant, so I think that helps. (I love squash; not so keen on marshmallow.) Our “feast for four” could easily have fed eight. My husband just got back from driving our guest back home (we ate early in the afternoon); we sent her off with a sizable care package and yet we still have leftovers for probably three meals. Everything was delicious!
SOTD is Winter Palace. 🙂
Thanksgiving is even more fantastic when you don’t have to cook it yourself!
I have never made marshmallows but can believe they are very different from store bought.
Happy Thanksgiving to all my perfume people ob NST plus Their Families!!
There is a lot to be thankful for this year for me. Wonderful and supportive family and friends, lovely daughter and… this wonderful blog full of wonderful people!!
Thanks to a WONDERFUL NSTer I discovered the House of Sillage which I would have never really try otherwise. The “problem” with this house is that I have by now sampled A LOT of their offerings and the DNA or something about this house attracts me helplessly.
I have ordered 2 more packages from them. Honestly at first sight I fell in love with Cherry Garden only to later completely fall in love with Nouez Moi. So here we go. Just purchased that one while it is still on sale (luckily Nouez Moi is the less popular or otherwise it would have been sold out already).
SotD = Trend no. 1 from the House of Sillage. Comes in a cute travel spray and bought at a bargain directly from the site. Notes are: Peony, White Tea and Seaweed. Lovely, lovely and lovely!!
I just realized some of my most favorite perfumes (The Vagabond Prince Swan Princess, Cacharel Noa) have peony in them. It is why I purchased Trend no. 1. Also thought the White Tea and Seaweed were genius.
Happy Thanksgiving!
I’ve heard HoS does huge sales sometimes. I hope you have been able to get in on some discounts.
Lilyjo I got every single order at a discount which is great. I just won’t stay away from their website ?
Happy Thanksgiving to those celebrating. We went to my stepdaughter’s this year. First year without my mother so it was very different, but still nice. I used to cook the entire meal. Just had to make a few things this year – green bean casserole, cranberries, yams and pumpkin bars. My stepson, his wife and the two grandkids came from North Carolina so we were able to pick them up at the airport.
SOTD has been Jo Malone Orange Blossom body cream and Blackberry and Bay Cologne.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Glad it was still a nice holiday despite missing your mom, Kris!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

SOTD = Mix:Bar Vanilla Bourbon + a spritz of Theo Kalotinis Coffee Addict
I had Thanksgiving Dinner at lunchtime with my 2 sisters, brothers-in-law and nephew at Seasons 52. We got the earlier seating and indeed, we did it right. The main dining room was crowded so I’m glad we were seated in the overflow / function rooms and we were the only ones there for the first 20 minutes. The meal was delicious and the company was wonderful. We had our mini pumpkin pie indulgence to go and had it with coffee at my sister’s place. I am having the leftovers for dinner in a little bit.
I made up a perfume advent calendar to go alongside my other 2.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Glad to read that you saved the chocolate for later indulgence ??
Except I now only have 3 pieces left ?. It’s actually 11 calories per piece and I would be flabbergasted if they used adult RDA on an item that is supposed to be for kids. OK, I just looked and it is based on a 2,000 calorie diet. What little kid eats 2,000 calories a day? % wise, each piece would have been a larger portion of a child’s diet. But anyway, Christmas calories don’t count…
Earlier is always better on the holidays. Sounds like a great get together. Happy Thanksgiving to you! ?
Thanks Deva. And we’ve tentatively planned our Christmas get-together already!
Also wearing Nouez Moi on my wrists, and later Holiday on my elbow LOL. Nouez Moi I just wanted to make sure I did good (and I did) by ordering it today and Holiday to feel bad I didn’t choose that one… Holiday is so pretty!! It smells like a christmas tree… ok like an interpretation of a christmas tree with all it’s ornaments and LIGHTS on. The mandarin and citruses smell like magic in this one… smell like juicy fruits of christmas!! If I still have the funds available and it still costs a lot less than reg. on the website – I might splurge and order that one too.
Also Nouez Moi and Holiday smell great together but some distance away from each other.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I’m thankful for this nice, welcoming community and its collective humor and wisdom, so generously shared. Also thankful for having our kids nearby, and home for the holiday; and for my husband’s successful knee surgery and good recovery (ongoing).
Fragrance-wise, I’ve been enjoying the 2019 version of Cabochard, it really suits the cool weather we’ve had lately. I took advantage of a recent sale at Saks Off Fifth and got Guerlain’s AA Ginger Piccante. I’ll be buying gifts this weekend for our church’s “giving tree”, for disabled and medically fragile children in need. I won’t venture far from home, though — Black Friday is too overwhelming. Some gifted independent perfumers are having special sales this weekend, and I’ll post a bit about those on my blog.
Have a lovely weekend, NST!
I just did a raid on 4160 Tuesdays. 🙂
I saw that too … will check it out!
Hello to everyone celebrating today. We are in Massachusetts with family and friends, and eating a feast! Thankful for so much, including the aforementioned family, friends, feast, and of course the wonderful NST community!
