Vetiver, the zesty scent that [David Bowie] wore the day they met and every day after, is balanced with hints of bergamot and blackberry, which bring to mind the Italian countryside where they were married. “Florence was on my mind so much throughout the process of formulating the fragrance because the sunset upstate reminded me of the times we spent in Tuscany,” says Iman... “All the memories came flooding back,” she continues, noting that the packaging is printed with a distinctive sunset scene she painted herself. There’s a trace of rose as well, a tribute to Bowie’s British heritage. “You know, he always wanted to go back to England,” she says.

Cool packaging for the perfume.
I’ve never shopped at HSN. It is a very boring site visually. Isn’t it a tv show? Definitely does not match the aesthetic I associate with Iman. But maybe the kids don’t know who she is?
It’s a shopping channel on cable. The kids don’t even know what cable is, right?
Guessing Iman is not a big enough (or young enough) celebrity to get a licensing deal with one of the bigger fragrance companies….but she’s big enough to get a spread in Vogue.
Which is ridiculous or heartbreaking or both. She is stunning, she is a barrier breaker, and I would think that any smart beauty/fragrance company would be grateful to have her on board. Silly (youth-fixated) executives. Missed opportunity for them, good job for HSN. Also: are Iman and DVF buds? If so, that may explain the HSN connection (Iman-DVF-Barry Diller).
I don’t know a whole lot about her but I certainly agree she is stunning. But from what I can see, the celebrity market is very different from what it used to be. I am dubious as to whether even Elizabeth Taylor could do it now…I suspect the only consumers still interested in celebrity scents are very young.
