It’s Tuesday and the International Day for Tolerance. Birthdays: WC Handy, Chinua Achebe, Diana Krall, Lisa Bonet. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm in Sonoma Scent Studio Vintage Rose. Tea at the moment is Colombian Tippy Black organic with a splash of milk and a little shave of nutmeg.
Reminder: Early on 11/19 (some of us will be sleeping) we'll see a Partial Lunar Eclipse of the Micro Beaver Moon. Wear what you think fits.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2021, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

PSA: Shalimar MVP is back up on the website! Get ‘em while they’re hot.?
(No affiliation)
??
dang – gone already
Wow! That was quick!
Bummer!
They still have it listed on the site50 ml for $117.00, but there is no order button. 🙁
Yeah, I see that now it says to email when it’s available but this morning that button let me purchase. I did get a confirmation email so we shall see.
I’m in JD Dame Vanille Farfelue. Trying to use up some of my evaporating decants. I’m tempted to swap out my perfume tray for all decants and use some of them up.
In non perfume related news, I ordered a knitting kit from We Are Kniiters. Am I a knitter? No I am not, but I’m going to try! It’s a beginner scarf kit. Wish me luck.
Knitting can be therapeutic, according to all my family members who knit 🙂
Ha! Yes, I know people that can knit for hours.
Good luck knitting!
I have attempted knitting quite a few times but my clumsy hands just don’t seem to be able to work the needles. I crochet though! I am currently on an ombré turquoise scarf.
I’ve tried once before. I took a class for “beginners” but everyone else in the class already knew how to knit so I fell behind really quickly and then just quit going.?
Good luck with the knitting! It looks like a wonderful creative outlet. I don’t knit, but I do sew a bit and used to embroider.
I also sew and did cross-stitch for years. I’ll see how this goes.?
Good luck! I never could get comfortable with knitting, but I do crochet now and then. Am just finishing up a scarf that I’ve been working on for many years — found three skeins of the yarn in about 2008 and took a few years deciding what to do with it. It’s a lovely alpaca and silk blend in a dark maroon sort of ombre color, and a nice light-medium weight.
Thanks! Your yarn sounds lovely.
Enjoy the knitting!
Thanks!
If anyone has had trouble knitting, be sure to try both the English and the Continental styles. I learned from a Swiss friend so she showed me Continental. I eventually learned to knit both ways, but as beginner, for me, the Continental method was easier.
Oh yikes, I didn’t even know there were different styles.?Is there a beginner style???
Good luck with the knitting!
Thanks!
My mom enrolled me in knitting classes when I was an agitated pre-teen. It was really fun, but of course I was a brat and never continued it because my mom made me do it. (See agitated pre-teen.)
I hope you enjoy it!
Lol. My college daughter learned when she was in Girl Scouts and she made it look so easy.
Thanks!
Good luck! I love knitting!
Tea Pleine Lune, can I get CP points for my tea 😉
Chanel makeup
Of course!!
Love that teapot & the color, and the Colombian tea–need to try it with nutmeg.
Robin, did you see the email from the Tea Trekker gentleman who retired, and recommended other sites? Ordered a couple of tins from Grace Rare Tea–looking forward to trying Winey Keemun.
In Iris Cendre today, wanted to revisit since I didn’t think it was warm weather appropriate. Has anyone tried both Iris Cendre and Feu Secret? Would be interested in hearing if there’s any overlap.
I saw the email but admit I did not look at the other stores. I really liked their store but did not order from them often. They had the best oolongs and green teas. Over the years I have realized the quality of my black teas isn’t as important to me: I like them hearty and I add milk and other stuff (spices, cacao husks) anyway.
So please report back on Grace Rare Tea, which I have never heard of!
I’m in Phlur Moab today, looking for something dry and arid (or do I mean aromatic?) Anyway, it fits the bill, and I’m working through discovery sets and samples. I feel that I really need to go through some things I’ve had for years that have gone unworn for years.
Me too, so many untested samples I spent good money on, need to give them a sniff.
I really liked Moab.
I’m toasty warm in Ummagumma, and headed “home” after four looong shifts in a row on a cooold morning with a freeze warning in effect.
Read an interesting article in The Atlantic about the exodus of healthcare workers out of field. Oh, hits so close to home for me! Linked for anyone in that field that may be interested.
Happy Tuesday! I’m off for four days and thinking about what kind of trouble I can get into! ?
https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2021/11/the-mass-exodus-of-americas-health-care-workers/620713/
Enjoy the time off! And thanks for linking the article. I know a few of my UCSF nurses have retired early. I’ll miss them dearly but don’t blame them one bit.
Thanks! I remember the days when most nurses were graduates of 3 year programs in which they lived in dorm at the hospital and their education was both book and on the floor training. Those nurses knew their stuff. I remember one time I asked one of these nurses about CHF and man! She LAUNCHED into a lecture that I’ll never forget! The knowledge she had under her belt was so incredibly extensive, I’m still amazed. And grateful she took the time to really help me understand a complicated disease process. She was a fantastic nurse! I hope your nurse friends are thoroughly enjoying retirement!
My mother was a graduate of a 3 year program, at a NYC Catholic nursing school. I think it no longer exists. She had book and practicum training. Her first job was at a hospital in Brooklyn in the 1960s. Her ED stories were both horrific and entertaining.
Before she passed, she gifted me with her nursing pin. I treasure it.
My mom was one of those nurses, graduated from a Catholic nursing hospital in northern Saskatchewan. They didn’t even have latex gloves back then, did stuff bare-handed. Squick. Tough cookie my mom! She ended up specializing in diabetes and hypertension education but had some pretty funny stories from her hospital days.
Enjoy your four days, hope you find just enough trouble to make it fun.
Thank you! I do my best to behave, but honestly, its highly overrated! ?
I know someone who is just entering nursing school, as she sees a strong demand for the skills in years to come.
If her goal is bedside nursing and job security is her priority, she won the jackpot! There always has been and always will be a high demand for bedside nurses. That in itself begs the question “why?” The average new nurse stays at the bedside 2-5 years, according to most statistics. There are few experienced nurses of greater than 10 years at the bedside for a whole host of factors. I usually work cardiac step-down these days, but got floated twice to ICU over the weekend. On my usual unit there was a charge nurse and 4 new grads just off orientation. There was a code both nights. In the ICU there was a charge and eight nurses, all of which had less than five years experience, except myself and the charge. I’d be interested to see how many nurses that comment here are still actually at the bedside…?
Just left a year ago after 15 years at the bedside. I’m now in the ambulatory setting.
Ambulatory is a great option. I did it for 4 years and really enjoyed it. I hope the change is working well for you!
That’s astonishing. I had no idea.
Most people don’t. ??♀️
My niece just graduated and started nursing last year, she’s looking forward to the end of the pandemic and a long career due to being in demand.
See above ??
My mother worked 20 years bedside before transitioning to patient education.
That was an insightful article.
Boy, I’d love to pick your brain.
I know you wear Ummmmmagummmmmma a lot, but I’ve never sniffed. What’s it like?
Hope that Deva doesn’t mind me butting in about Ummagumma. It’s SPICY! Lots and lots of spices. There’s some smoke or incense in there too. It doesn’t resemble any other spicy perfume that I have smelled, so it’s a unique beast.
Enjoy your 4 days! I will definitely read that article.?
Thanks! Happy you scored a BUB of MVP! ?
It’s so cold out today we considered turning on the baseboard heaters, but we resisted. (Our apartment is unexpectedly well-insulated — we never turn on the heat in the bedroom, even in the depths of a Canadian winter.) Anyway, I’m cozy in a couple healthy spritzes of SL Jeux de Peaux, which I love immoderately.
My apt was the same – never needed to heat the bedroom. Just snuggle under the duvet.
We had no heat for years in our NYC apt. Had them turn the valve off – ambient heat worked just fine,
You smell amazing!!! Jeux de Peaux is one of the two scents I hoard for extra special occasions. I’m glad your apartment is so warm.
Good morning!
Sotd is BR540. Went a bit heavy handed but I am liking it.
Currently drinking rose latte, lightly sweetened.
Rose latte sounds like something I want 🙂
Good morning all! From pyramus’ SOTD yesterday, I’m wearing Chopard Cašmir, dabbed. I adore the warm vanilla, benzoin, tonka, opoponax, and amber notes.
Also, thanks to Pyramus, I ordered a few of Deciem’s room sprays (named Room), a few for hostess gifts and one for myself. Those notes are right up my alley.
Presently, no coffee or food, I’m headed out for fasting bloodwork fasting and my physical. I’ve prepped a triple espresso for the car for when I’m completed with this.
Good luck with your blood work and enjoy that espresso
Your perfume is making me crave vanilla. I still have to pick my SOTD
I’m craving vanilla too, particularly Dior Addict. I hope I can describe the bottle well enough that my husband can find it.
Although sadly reformulated …
Yes, it is reformulated for sure.
I may wear Dior’s Addict tomorrow! It’s either that or Shalimar Souffle Intense. 🙂
Triple espresso sounds so good…
The blood work and exam are done (YaY!). I wouldn’t recommend having a double espresso on an empty stomach. I could run a marathon right now.
I felt bad for the medical assistant. He’s new, and I have scar tissue from all the blood draws. It took a few tries to get the vein. Fortunately, needles don’t bother me, I reminded him that everyone has an off day, and it was okay. It takes a lot to rattle me.
I’m sure your great attitude will help him become more comfortable. Hope the rocket fuel espresso has tamed down!
Well I had a fully-fueled workout today! Zoomie-zoom zoom!
Hi everyone!! I have one million samples to try because of the nicest NSTer, so far I know I don’t love Amouage style as I expected I would. I did not expect for the House of Sillage to be anything interesting – their gorgeous, crystal studded bottles made me believe the juice wouldn’t have to be anything special. Turns out I have tried only two out of the discovery set, and fell in love with them!! So yesterday (thanks to that House of Sillage discovery set that was part of my package full of samples) I immediately placed my first order with The House of Sillage!! I am working now but will post later which fragrances took my heart by the storm!!
Which House of Sillage did you order?
Cherry Garden and a lil surprise with notes of: orange flower, black tea and sugar called Trend no. 3. Not only Trend no. 3 has perfect notes for me but it’s Sakura design will match the Cherry Garden too. I also want to order Love is in the Air. I am scared to start sampling the rest of the THoS samples…
How wonderful! I have Chevaux d’Or and Passion de l’Amour.
Thaaaaanks You Cazaubon!! It is all because of YOU ????
Oh this is lovely to see! What a generous gift from Cazaubon and how great you have already found some favourites!
I have to say that Diana Krall and Lisa Bonet sharing a birthday could almost make me believe in astrology. ☀️ ? Also, the teapot in the background of today’s photo is gorgeous.
I’m in LVDP Tabac today for another run at yesterday’s errands – one of them was to pick up a new set of checks that had supposedly arrived and that need to get to my mom before the end of the month, but the two (only two!) people on duty at the bank couldn’t find them. I’m hoping someone knows what happened to them and will call me. After that, a somewhat belated visit to the dentist. I expect a lecture from them about the bite guard I haven’t been using. ?
And I was wondering if Diana Krall knew, as she was growing up and getting interested in music, that she was born on the same day as WC Handy 🙂
LOL!
Robin, you smell wonderful. I’m in LAROMATICA Kulfi Rose today. I got my COVID booster on Sunday and had to take yesterday off work, and I am still feeling a bit under the weather today :-/ but at least I’m well enough to wear perfume! Now I can’t wait to go back to dining indoors, which is great as the cold weather approaches.
Hi Koyel, glad you are feeling better.
Glad you are on the upswing!
Ouch, still feeling bad on day 2! I am sorry. But yay for being boosted.
Yay for the booster – and hoping you’ll be better tomorrow. I think I can get my booster this week, but I am waiting until after an overdue eye exam on Thursday just in case I have a reaction.
I’m glad you got your booster and hope you are fully recovered tomorrow.
Wearing Coco edp today because it’s what my husband chose, so we’re both happy. Breakfast was a homemade sausage and egg taquito with this iced tea that he makes, a green/mint combo. It’s delicious 🙂
Yay for everybody being happy!
I am still in Eau Premiere and expecting tons of packages today. Being really lazy right now and haven’t showered yet. Will be making a Costco run. Hate going to Costco and dealing with crowds. Thinking of either Lyric or no 5 edt after my shower.
Good luck making it through Costco, Dawn!
It’s still 59 degrees in my office, and I am swathed in wool head to toe, including an Icelandic wool sweater, the warmest single garment I own. All I can think of is warm soup. Wearing MPG Cuir Fetiche, as it is warm and wintery.
Ack! Space heater!
E-freaking-gads! That’s miserable!
Yikes! Bundle up and stay comfy.
59? That must be an OSHA violation, need a space heater stat!
Want. Those mooncake and tea. Seriously, want. Anyone know what is the green one?
In very random scents this AM. Library of Flowers perfumed cream Willow and Water. Nothing like either willows or water, this perfume is like a simple, green tilting tuberose on me. It was part of a gift from friends, so I love it. To round it out, I applied a spritz or two of Bal d’Afrique hair mist.
My best guess is either matcha or pandan flavor, as both tend to be presented in shades of green. Could be pandan, as I associate that more with Singapore, Malaysia, other places with a large ethnic Chinese population.
I bet you are right about pandan! My father splits his time between Singapore and Panang–when the kids were younger, we’d get bags of pandan candies–those wonderful, sticky coconut milk triangles wrapped in cellophane.
Same here; I am stopping at our Asian market to look out for some special moon cakes if any.
Trying Patchouli Ardent today from a generous NSTer also known for her number of sprays 😉 …beautiful so far w/ a surprising amount of rose after the initial blast of patchouli.
Patchouli is second only to my beloved vanilla…♥️
My brother is flying down from SF tomorrow for a long holiday stay!!!? ?
Enjoy your visit!
Yes, enjoy!
What a wonderful treat! Enjoy the visit with your brother.
Yay for a visit from your brother!
Nice! Enjoy your brother’s visit. Will you see your sister as well?
My sister is in CT so will not see her for the holidays except via Facetime but hoping to see her in the spring.
My week of movies continues. So much fun to be out ( our town is still COVID free which helps) and so great to be a heritage movie theatre, sitting still for a couple of hours watching a big screen without any distractions . The Power of the Dog was terrific on the big screen and the performances were so solid. I thought Kirsten Dunst was superb in her misery and trying to hold it together against the constant undermining and bullying of Cumberpatch’s character. . The soundtrack was brilliant too ( a member of Radiohead) . One thing I found a little disconcerting personally was the very familiar Otago countryside ( locations I have walked, biked, driven on) standing in for Montana ( I think one of the locations with the rock tors was also in Lord of the Rings) but that didn’t take away from the movie at all. Today is One Second (Zhang Yimou , who did Raise the Red Lantern).
Forgot the perfume, duh. Journey…because it’s cold and blustery outside.
The Power of the Dog goes on the list…sounds compelling.
If you have access to past American tv shows, check out season 2 of the Fargo series. Dunst is great in that too.
Yes, and the way Jesse Plemons plays George in Power of the Dog is quite similar to the way he plays the husband in Fargo
Ooh, I loved Raise the Red Lantern. Canada gets used a lot as a stand-in for major US cities, it’s fun to spot things you recognize.
I loved that movie also.
Among the many things I found disconcerting about Nine Perfect Strangers: I have read that in the book the story unfolds in Australia. But in the tv film, the events are supposed to be taking place in Northern California. However, it was filmed in Australia and the banyan tree shots among other settings were very distracting (but honestly, the entire show was pretty annoying, so there is that!) –grumpy California native
The item I found most disconcerting was a shot in which I noticed the overly large size of Nicole Kidman’s earlobes, and then I couldn’t unsee that for the remainder of the series.
?
You know I have to look now, right?
Wait’ll you see them — they’ll be all you can think about for a good 15 minutes.
It’s funny how distracting it can all be, even when you are happy to be immersed in the story. I also found Benedict Cumberbatch a bit distracting because he seemed to be Benedict Cumberbatch playing a ranch owner/cowboy in Power of the Dog ( though he did it very well, and gave a good performance ) rather than just a cowboy. I think Paul Dano was originally down for the role.
Hmm not really a fan of BC at all and think I know what you mean even without having seen him in this film: he seems quite mannered in all the roles I’ve seen him in. I have been quite disturbed by Paul Dano’s characters in so many films that the thought of him would also put me off, but now you say it, he would be wonderful in this kind of role…he is never not compelling. And his own film, Wildfire, is wonderful.
Yeah, what does Benedict C. know about cowboying?
Thank you for this excellent review! I love Westerns in general for nostalgic reasons (my dad) but more recent ones can be so interesting and use the genre so well…there’s a fantastic, recent-ish, western-inspired Austrian (I think) film called Western, which uses so many of the conventions but makes it very strange and moving. I love Jane Campion and Kristen Dunst so had wanted to see this anyway, but now am very keen indeed!
A lovely sunny morning here, but the weather has been very changeable so who knows how long it will last? I go everywhere with both sunglasses and an umbrella.
I’m wearing a dress with a pattern of abstract blobby flowers. They could be roses or carnations, so I’ve decided on a carnation scent, Billet Doux from Fragonard.
I wish our weather was changeable but it’s mostly cold now 🙂
I will always vote for carnations! But have never tried the Fragonard.
The days of brilliant sun have ended and the fog rolled back in last night. I’m wearing Love Don’t Be Shy Extreme.
Cazaubon, you are brilliant!
You are too sweet LOL. 🙂
Mr. AnniePerfumes would disagree.?
You gave me courage today.
You smell wonderful!
Baiser de Russie – I wanted that blast of chilly pine. Not too long after I sprayed it, my husband came home from his various outings and asked if I had been burning a candle. He commented it smelled good inside…it’s me!
Need to pop out to find a baby shower gift. If I’d been paying attention, I would have knit a little blanket for the car/stroller. Don’t think I have time to finish it now.
Baiser de Russie is so good!
It’s Le Lion de Chanel kind of day.
The perfume is not really for me but I’ll use up my decant eventually.
(I haven’t smelled it but )what is it that makes the perfume not for you?
It was rather animalic and butch on me.
It wasn’t for me either. Plenty of other Chanels to love though.
Wearing lots of sprays of Natori today. Its colder out, so it’s performing well in the cooler temps. I’m drinking the rest of my cold-brew coffee, warmed up to hot coffee levels. It’s much smoother than regular coffee but I think I like the “extra” flavor in my usual daily brew.
We had a pretty big wind storm blow through yesterday afternoon which took out the power for 10 hours. There was also a thunderstorm at the same time (and we never get those, much to my dismay). It looked like a scene from The Wizard of Oz outside. Glad to see the sun today!
You smell wonderful!
Thank you, MossyBerry! I can still get a few whiffs now and then. Very glad to have this under-rated gem in my stash.
This time of year, the sun is definitely a welcome companion.
It sure is! I’ve become quite a wimp in the last few years so any warmth is good.
You smell lovely! Hope you didn’t sustain any damage.
Pierre Guillaume Myrrhiad today which I can see wearing for the beaver moon or any kind of moon (for its magical black tea, myrrh, licorice, vanilla mixture).
Breakfast (long gone) was coffee, oats, berries and chia seeds
Lunch is smoothie with spinach and TOAST and egg.
Mr. SP not feeling well. 🙁
Myrrhiad sounds wonderful. I hope Mr. SP feels better soon. Spinach is so good this time of year. I found some BOGO bags and made a quick cream of spinach soup that turned out great; basically just slow-cooked some onions in butter, added whole milk, chicken broth, S&P and spinach.
Thanks, MB!
Sorry, SP, hope he feels better soon <3
Thanks, Koyel!
Oh no, hope he feels better soon!
Thanks, MTGirl!
Healthy vibes to Mr. SP!
Thanks, Sistine!
Hope that Mr. SP is feeling set to rights tomorrow!
Healing vibes to Mr. SP.
Ok, Cazaubon. I’ll be brave.
My #1 medical condition is epilepsy.
November is Epilepsy Awareness Month. Purple is the color of choice.
No ‘fumes yet, but it will be one or two from some wonderful NSTers splits that I desperately need to thank.
Very brave! And thanks for noting that this is Epilepsy Awareness month. Hugs!
Bravery pin goes to cazaubon. ?
I had no clue there was such a month, either. ?
Hugs!
Taking them!
I had a friend who also had epilepsy. We lost touch ages ago, but I still remember how scared she was to tell people.
You’re braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.☺️ More hugs.
You are wayyyy too kind. But, I’ll tell my drs that! Always taking more hugs.
Shame it’s not an international month. I think there is an international day though in February.
It is a shame. And I do think there is a day in February. I’m just learning about them!
Big hugs to you, AnniePerfumes.
Thanks, H.?
AnniePerfumes, serious question, because I am just uninformed…is it hard to tell people? That is, is there still some stigma attached to having epilepsy?
O gosh, yeah, Robin. I lost my job, friends, family. People are terrified of seeing that. So they leave your life. Huge stigma.
And because I don’t announce it, I do hear the jokes.
Wouldn’t mind if the people were laughing with me, though!?
Consider the source when you hear a joke. Kind, sensitive people will laugh with you.
mean people just are not funny, and should be ignored, and fined. I think all mean people should pay extra taxes!? (if only!)
Bravo! I’m glad I could be an inspiration for you. My cousin has epilepsy as well as a college friend. My friend’s condition was so severe she had to have a partial lobotomy. Sending you lots of fragrant hugs!
Very happy SOME of my creed samples arrived. Was going to def try Love in Black first…
Had to put that to the side for now. I have that House of Sillage discovery set that just is really DRAINING my soul… I just put on Nouiez Moi… Now for the last several minutes I have been repeating: “Oh my God, oh my God” because it is breathtakingly gorgeous!! I can tell this perfume house has it’s own DNA by the 3 scents tried so far each more beautiful than the other… And the other more beautiful than the other… Like some sort of a magical fairy tale. I am smitten, I LOVE the DNA of this house!! I am crazy in love with all 3 of their frags I just tried… Why not so many people mention this house? It seems very underrated considering SUPERB quality of their scents…
I have decants of 10 from this house from a lovely perfumista who had been quite busy. Sounds like I need to haul them out to sample!
Howdy, Fragrant Fellows! I’ve been missing all the NST latest but am back from two wonderful weeks in Florida. Yes, it’s cooler there this time of year, but I swam in the gulf almost every day because the sky was clear and the sun was warm. I thought I was careful about which perfumes I took, but as I do I packed in a rush and messed up one thing. I wanted to try Embruns d’Ylang in a seaside setting, but found I had taken Cruel Gardenia instead. Huh. The surprise was how well Fille de Berlin worked in that setting. It and Rogue’s Jasmin Antique were my most worn. On the last day, Mr. Mossy revealed that Jasmin Antique was one that he hoped I’d not wear again, LOL! I was about to tink my sample anyway. Off to read comments.
Heh. I just got a decant of Sundowner from a lovely NSTer. I put it on and loved it immediately, while my husband turned on the whole house fan to get that smell away from himself. Mr Mossy seems more tolerant.
😀
The whole house fan!! That is funny.
Oy! Maybe he’ll have another business trip ✈️
LOL. Another one to save for when he’s not home.
Lucky you MossyBerry, so glad it was wonderful!
I’m wearing Chanel Gardenia again today. It has grown on me.
🙂
Another chilly day here, but a lot less windy and bright sun for most of the day. The cats still prefer the heat vent to the sunny bay window at this time of year. ??
SOTD = Vetiverissimo, from the sample stash. It’s a good “Get ‘Er Done!” scent.
My senior kitty has staked out the spot next to a heater vent that *also* gets afternoon sun. She just blissfully winks her eyes when I pet and sweet-talk to her. The kitten took over her chair in the sunny spot!
One of the cats got bored, and moved herself to the kitty cat hot pad. Rough life they’re having today.
Nice chilly day today…I eked out a 1.75 mile walk before coming back in to continue working…
It was downright cold when I went outside to look for Jupiter and Saturn earlier tonight! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr! ?
Cats are so darn cute. And they know a good sunspot!
I wore Lake today and finished my travel spray. I really liked it, so I may buy a bigger bottle in the future.
My mom just announced that she was changing het birthday from November 19 to August 19. Her logic was “I’m 75 and I know my birthday should be on August 19. If my parents got it wrong it’s their problem.”
Are we allowed to do that???!
I don’t care about changing the date, but I’d love to change the year! 2001 sounds good to me.
Oh. Boy.
Insert your favorite cartoon wild take of a character’s jaw hitting the floor.
I say go for it…it is Coco Chanel’s birthday ?
If we are allowed, I am moving my birthday to summer. I’ve always hated having my birthday in November.
I’d prefer a summer birthday too. I always get snow for my birthday.
Evening everyone (well it’s the middle of the night here and yes I know that going online is not the answer but sometimes being in perfumeland is a real balm). Got muddled today and put on both Chanel Paris-Edimbourg AND Hermès Rhubarbe – what was I thinking? But it was a cheerful combination. This evening I was in town and sprayed testers of Atelier Cologne Rose Anonyme, and Chanel Le Lion (interesting to see the comments above). They pair very well…RA reminds me a lot of AC Café Tuberosa, but softer and fuller (nicer! But I already own some CT) and despite hating Le Lion when I tried it first over the summer, I loved it this evening. Definitely need to try it again…oh and I bought one of the Christmas bottles of No. 5 in the white bottle box. Quite the Chanel day. Ah well
Glad it is a balm, and hey, glad those 2 worked layers because would not have guessed.
And congrats on your spiffy new No. 5!
Thank you Robin!
That Atelier is beautiful and rose is one note I have trouble with.
Congratulations on the cool bottle!
Very late to the party!
SOTD = Chris Rusak Leaves My Body Extrait
Previously, I smelled smoke, maple and immortelle. Today, I got the smoke and the maple and something vaguely floral, and also got something animalic and slight doll’s head. I love the ride!

I am so hoping my purchases arrive on Thursday because I will be in the office on Friday and I would hate for the packages to just sit outside all day!
Love your photo! Sending you some package mojo.
Packages for Thursday!!!?
