It's Hump Day, Sesame Street Day and the World Science Day for Peace and Development. Happy 61st to Neil Gaiman! What fragrance are you wearing?
I went with Tauer Perfumes Sundowner.
Reminder: on 11/12 we're doing Dealer's Choice, edition 5...propose a theme for a Friday community project, and wear a fragrance that fits your theme.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2021, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Mugler Aura body lotion, which is so strongly scented it might as well be EDP: I can’t imagine slathering it on — I just use a couple of dabs at a time (I transferred the commercial sample into a little jar). I keep teetering on whether I should buy a bottle when I run out: I’ll never come close to using it up and I have a zillion scents already, but it’s *so good* and so interesting — it’s unlike anything else I own, which I think we expect from Mugler.
Ah, interesting. Wish they made an Angel Muse lotion.
I’d buy that in a heartbeat.
I find many Mugler body products are strongly scented. I have the Angel body oil and it’s nuclear-strength if I don’t cut it with lotion. It is glorious stuff though…
I say buy it if it is unlike anything else you own and it’s satisfyingly “good”. And Aura is interesting, and a bit of a shape shifter.
I slept much better last night, hope you did too Robin! What do you think of Sundowner?
I’m in Eau Premiere. Today is the second anniversary of my beloved granny’s passing.? Although my sadness is not nearly as raw as those first few weeks, those were rough, I still miss her dearly. My brain sometimes plays tricks on me and I forget that she’s not here. Usually it’s when I see something that reminds me of her. I’ll think to myself “oh! I should get that for my gramma, she would love it” and then I remember that she’s not here. I would imagine this is true for a lot of people.
Sending love today <3
Thanks Dorsey.
Big hugs.
Thanks ringthing, big hugs accepted.☺️
I still do that with my grandfather, although he passed away 8 years ago. Not so much seeing things I’d buy, but saying things he’d say. He had a lot of colourful sayings that sometime just fit the moment perfectly.
Hugs!
Thanks ockeghem. Yes, my gramma had some real classics too, lol, and I am passing them down to my kids.?
It’s strange to me, the sayings that come out of my mouth sometimes. My dad passed close to three years ago, and I find myself saying things that he said eons ago. It’s all still on the “hard drive”. ?
Gentle hugs mtg, as you remember your gramma.
Thanks Nancyleandros. Yes, I think we are hardwired to do that. I sometimes use phrases that my mom would say and then my kids will be like “ok, nana.”?
I got 7 hours, so an improvement!
I like Sundowner, it’s very Tauer.
Condolences to you. I still think of things I want to tell my sister, all the time, and she’s been gone since 2010.
Thanks Robin, and Happy Birthday!?
Sending big love and hugs to you. It’s so difficult, especially around the holidays. Be gentle with yourself.
I do much the same with remembering my grandmother. Sometimes, in the twilight between sleep and waking up, I still hear her voice, and I can smell her perfume.
☺️ I heard my gramma’s voice in a dream once. I saved many of her voicemails on my phone. I knew that someday she’d be gone, and I couldn’t bear the thought of never hearing her voice again. Some of them are quite hilarious. It’s very bittersweet listening to them.
This.
I still have the last voicemail I got from my Mom on my cell phone. I can’t let it go.
Aww, I would imagine you’ll keep it forever.?
Oh, but she is here, she lives on in you and in your ❤️ and in your remembrance.
Today’s serendipitous quote from the Native American spiritual guidebook I refer to daily: “The Creator made it to be this way. An old woman shall be as a child again and her grandchildren shall care for her. For only because she is, they are.” – Handsome Lake, Seneca, c. 1735-1815
?
I love this quote! Thanks for sharing.
You are so right Laila! Thank you for that quote.❤️
Madtowngirl, my gran’s been gone for nearly 30 years, and I still imagine sharing things, places, and mostly people with her (she would have LOVED my husband). Sending hugs.
Thanks OF, hugs back.
Hugs to you.
Thanks cazaubon, hugs back to you.☺️
Hi Madtowngirl, I hope your day goes gently and well.
I can’t recall the exact words but there’s a John Donne poem I like ( The anniversary)
Only our love hath no decay
This no tomorrow hath, nor yesterday
Running, it never runs from us away
But truly keeps its first, last, everlasting day
https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/50336/the-anniversary-56d22d56d635f
Found it
Beautiful.☺️ Thanks Kanuka.
May her memory be a blessing.
Thanks missionista, it truly is. I was lucky to have her for as long as I did.
Sending hugs, love and peace to you today. ?
Thanks pl67.?
Yes, I think it’s true. I had my parents for a good long while, for which I’m exceedingly grateful. It’s been 5 years for my mom and 3 for my Dad. In some respects, I miss them even more today than I did right after their passing.
I can understand that.?
I still sometimes think that I should give my Mom a phone call. Can’t do it anymore, though. ?
Oh Jalpeno, I’m so sorry.?
That’s Jalapeno. Oy, double sorry.
Eh, no worries! Hugs to you on missing your loved one.
Hugs back.☺️
I hope you managed to find comfort and joy in your memories of your grandmother today. Sending you lots of hugs!
Thanks tulipani!
Good morning.
Sotd is Nightingale. Drinking Japanese Hojicha and eating a toasted blueberry bagel with cream cheese.
Oh yum! I miss the blueberry bagels in Montreal.
I’m wearing Sycomore, but I’m not sure which version. It is from one of those tiny mini bottles from Chanel. I think they are 4ml. Anyway this is my first wearing, and it is already in the running for one of my top three vetiver scents.
I love Sycomore. Really the only vetiver fragrance that I love.
Sycomore is lovely and you smell wonderful.
Such a pretty sunset pic!
SOTD is 19-69 Chinese Tobacco. For when you’re at work and don’t wanna blow the place up with a BIG tobacco. It’s got a ginger twist that I really like.
I have tried that one and liked it a lot. Definitely twisty.
Hi all, SOTD is Vintage Chanel No. 5 EdC topped with the extrait. Today just felt like a Chanel day. Matching makeup is Chanel foundation and Winter Delights eye palette. 🙂
Mazel Tov to Malala Yousafzai who recently got married!
I am so happy for Malala! I read about it this morning in the news paper.
Your Chanel pairing of perfume and makeup sound so beautiful.
I am sporting a milk mustache from my cappuccino, and that is all I have done this morning..Need to get moving!
I want back in bed! Truthfully, I also want to stay in my jammies all day, I splurged on a cashmere PJ set from Quince and it’s super soft and snuggly.
I need to get going for my walk. Today’s an easy day for workouts.
A cashmere pj set sounds sooo nice. I’ve seen Quince advertised, but have never bought from them. Their cashmere is nice?
I think for the price, it’s pretty good! I bought my set deeply discounted, I don’t think I’d pay full price.
I am very happy for Malala, such an extraordinary and courageous young woman.
Also, have to share a cute moment from yesterday’s walk. I pass by a Catholic elementary school on the way to the gym. Three boys (probably third or fourth grade??), invited me to have tea and cookies with them. It was very sweet and they were absolutely adorable. It kinda made my day. 🙂
♥
That’s lovely.
How sweet!
?☕?!
Oh my, you smell great ?
Yes, long life and happiness to Malala and her husband! The photos she released are just beautiful.
I had some fun this morning, after reading the story, imagining what a wedding announcement for them in The NY Times Style section would look like — once you’ve written “the bride, a recent graduate of Oxford, is also a Nobel Laureate,” you’ve kind of won. (In my eyes, at least.)
Yes, that’s a mike-drop line!
SOTD = Amber Oud by Killian. I get much more Amber than Oud in this perfume. It is one of my favorites.
Drinking a large mug of some free trade organic “sweet espresso” coffee, with my collagen and MCT oil, and it tastes great with my mid morning piece of mincemeat pie… 🙂 Gonna have to go for a long walk after work today!
Happy Autumn, everyone…
Amber Oud is a nice one! I’ve been adding MCT Creamer from Sprouts to my coffee, it is super rich and creamy..
I love mincemeat, my mom used to make it every holiday. It’s delicious stuff.
This is one of my favorite ambers aa well (and I don’t get much “Oud” either, which is good 🙂 ).
Oh mincemeat pie, my Dad’s favorite. He used to make “hard sauce” for the top (butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, brandy-rum-or whiskey…).
Yes! Thanks for mentioning it SP, I couldn’t remember the name of the sauce.
Pure sugar but oh well…
My calendar says it’s a special day for you, Robin. So, from one Scorpio to another, Happy Birthday!???? and thank you for providing us with this lovely place (and community) to visit we affectionately call NST???.
To celebrate you ?, I’m wearing Theorema today, which I know is a favorite of yours. Wishing you all the best life has to offer in the coming year ahead. ?
Best wishes, Robin!
Oh, happy happy, Robin!
Oh my. What a clever calendar! Joining in the birthday well wishes!
Happy Birthday, Robin!
Happy Birthday, Robin! And I am scent twins with Laila, in Fendi Theorema.
My calendar said the same, but I was looking through comments thinking whether it remembered it correctly 🙂
Happy Birthday, Robin! I hope your loved ones will make you feel special (also wishing health to you and them).
Thank you for keeping the lights on in this cozy corner of Perfumeland!
Happy birthday Robin!
Happy Birthday Robin!!
Happy birthday, Robin!! May you enjoy lots of cake and love and many years to come!
Happy birthday Robin! Thank you so much for providing this wonderful place of community and perfume fun.
Hey, happy birthday to both of us…and thank you everyone.
I will put on some Theorema later. Luckily it is warm enough here that we’re eating out tonight.
Adding my happy birthday wishes! ?
Happy birthday Robin!!! Hope you had a fun night out to celebrate.
Happy Birthday Robin!
Happy birthday, Robin, Queen of the Fumies!
Happy birthday, Robin! May the year ahead be sweet in every way!
Happy Birthday, Robin! Hope you are having a lovely day.
Joining in the the happy birthday wishes!
Happy birthday, Robin! Have a great dinner!
Happy happy birthday, Robin! Enjoy your dinner out tonight! ?
Today I asked for Wazamba but my direction of “round bottle, left side near the front” resulted in Bottega Veneta instead. Turns out to be the perfect choice, it’s one of those perfumes that always makes me wonder why I don’t wear it all the time, it smells so good. Happy hump day everyone.
Isn’t it great? You smell fab.
Hm… Why don’t I wear it all the time?.. 🙂
You smell good!
Good stuff, that BV!
You smelled really, really good today! ?
Commando so far. Getting the test today. 48 hours till results?
No fever, which is great.
Good luck! Fingers crossed.
Thank you.
I missed it but whatever it is, hope the results come out to whatever you want it to be.
Covid.
No appointments today, so I wait till tomorrow.
Do I absolutely need a test if I really don’t go anywhere?
Might be nice to know.
If you’re curious, it would be useful – knowing you had it already might be reassuring if the test is positive.
Good luck with the test
Good luck, Annie. Praying for a negative result. ?
Hoping you continue to feel well and the test outcome is a good one.
Fingers crossed for the results you want. ?
SOTD = Lazarus Rose 1845
I just had to have a bottle. Enablers pin goes to tulipani ? ?
Lots of rose and patchouli and some grounding tonka bean and benzoin!
https://www.instagram.com/p/CWGdEeUL0SO/?utm_medium=copy_link
In other news, I had my booster yesterday. Thank you for all the well wishes. I had no issues getting my J&J booster but those that needed Moderna had a bit of a wait because they RAN out! You have to have an appointment so it boggles my mind how they can run out? Anyway, there was a line outside but it wasn’t bad. Once I got in and was processed, I got on another line. I was asked no fewer than 5 times which vaccine I was getting! They really should give us a colored tag or a Post-It note that identifies which vaccine we need to be funneled through. Side effects – other than pain at the injection site (and mostly gone for now), so far so good.
That would be Lazarus Douvos (better than leaving it as blah blah ?).
Glad to hear you are not having side effects! ?
Thank you. Since this is technically my 2nd shot even though only 1 is required, I didn’t know what to expect.
When I was getting my second shot, the clerk who processed my information, sent me to the wrong line. I discovered that before getting to the nurse, came back, and she corrected it on my card without even saying “sorry” or being upset about making that mistake. I wonder: would have the nurse noticed it before administering the dose?
I’m glad you didn’t have side effects.
Thank you. I definitely wanted to get the J&J booster but had there been a mistake, I would have been angry but by then, it would be too late.
Good they have a system of checking though. Whenever I get a shot (vaccine or otherwise) at Walgreens, I always ask the pharmacist to verify, and to allow me to also look at the bottle.
Sometimes, mistakes happen, a double-check never hurts anyone.
Yes! There were too many hops and a good number of workers just waiting for the next batch of Moderna vaccine.
Crazy system! Just glad you are feeling well and smelling good.
Thank you. It is crazy! They had cops helping.
Glad you’re feeling good!
Thank you!
Glad you got boosted! We had no choice of vaccine down here which I guess simplified things (Pfizer)
That keeps it simple for sure!
Congrats on the booster
Thank you. Makes me wonder if I should have waited. Who knows how many more jabs we’re all in for!
There was a looong line at the pharmacy here too, but it wasn’t for vaccinations or boosters. I got my Moderna booster and no ill effects except a bit of tenderness at the injection site that I don’t even notice unless there is direct pressure on it.
I think the pharmacy’s issue here was they didn’t have enough staff to work the drive through, so it was closed…
Oy! I somehow can’t imagine doing drive through pharmacy stuff!
Glad there were no ill effects for you, too!
Glad you got the booster, all aggravations worth it in the end.
Thank you. I really hope so!
Happy to hear that you aren’t feeling any major side effects!
Thank you, jalapeño! It makes me wonder again if my body is cranking out the antibodies.
Glad to hear the booster went well with minimal side effects! And I’m so happy to hear your good news from yesterday too, about the negative Covid tests.
That full bottle of Rose 1845 is looking good!
Thank you, tulipani. I always get myself hyped up and I suppose it’s better than being surprised. I’m so glad my sister and BIL tested negative and my nephew’s symptoms were pretty mild.
That Rose 1845 is ???.
I missed your news yesterday — happy to hear the tests came back negative. And congrats on your booster! Getting the brand you want, with short lines and minimal side effects is basically the Booster Jackpot ? ? ?
I’m happily back in my floral comfort zone after going to the sweet side yesterday. SOTD is Byredo Flowerhead.
Happy birthday to you, Robin!
Thanks irisjasmine, and you do smell great!
Dealer’s choice today is a perfume that gets no love on NST. Pssst. I’m in Santal 33.
I think I am the only one here who enjoys wearing Santal 33!
Well, its you and me against the world of NST! 😉
We will survive! ?
(Raising my fist to sky defiantly!)
Love it?
?
I have never smelt it, ever! ( or any Le Labo scents). I bet it’s nice though
I have some Santal 33 soap…
I like that idea! Though I think my contribution would be tiny niche lines that never get mentioned here.
I didn’t like it at first, but now I really do. I think you smell great!
I smelled it (finally) a couple of years ago and thought it was all right.
SOTD Petit Cherie
Joining SmokeyT in some fun makeup. TF eye shadow and Lisa Eldrige lippy
You smell great!
Is it one of her velvet lipsticks? Which one?
SOTD = Hiris. So glad I finally bought a bottle.
Sunshine and cooler-but-still-unseasonably-warm here today. Have to go back to campus for a meeting this afternoon — this committee has been meeting only on Zoom but today we are bidding farewell to one member, who is retiring and will be very much missed.
Congratulations on your new bottle! I haven’t tried it in a long while, so I wonder how much it changed in this reincarnation.
You smell great!
Happy, happy, happy Birthday, Robin!???
Wearing Lush Jilted Elf from the splitmeet. Such a fun, festive scent! The opening is pretty strong, but after a while it becomes a nice, almost skin scent on me that I am enjoying.
Thanks to Kanuka and Mtg for the chocolate body products recs. I purchased the Lush Posh Chocolate body wash, Demeter Chocolate Mint body wash and Evil,’s food body lotion and the Marvis Black Forest toothpaste. I will be adding other items, like lip balms, tea, organic dark chocolate bars, etc. It is a fun project and I am sure my friend will have fun and enjoy her present.
On my third cup of coffee and almost ready to go out for a walk. Glad tomorrow is a holiday and I will be home to rest.
Happy Wednesday! ?
Glad you’re enjoying Jilted Elf! Sounds like you’re having fun assembling your chocolate basket.
Jilted Elf is a cheerful scent! Thanks for hosting the split!
Not easy to get chocolate body products, that’s why I am adding edible items too, including a small bottle of chocolate liquor. At this point I am getting tempted to keep the basket for myself! ?
What cool presents! Can I be your friend?
Absolutely! Sending you that basket any time you want! ??
You are so sweet! I think my dogs would attack and eat me and then die from chocolate overdose if you did.
Yay! Please report back on how your friend enjoys her gift! It sounds like a chocolate lovers dream.
I will!!
That sounds like such a wonderful chocolate-y gift, you are a terrific friend!
Thank you! I hope she likes it!
Here’s a link for one of the best chocolate teas I have come across:
https://www.spiceandtea.com/teas/black-tea/black-chocolate-tea.html
The Republic of Tea has an entire section of chocolate flavored teas on their website, too.
Thanks for coming the chocolate tea rescue! Off to check and place an order. I will report back! ?
Oh no! I did not know this. And to find out now, just after I finally got the tea cabinet organized…
Just doused myself in Ormaie 28° from the Splitmeet…sweet, peppery citrus so far.
Going to the dentist for a teeth cleaning this afternoon. I have mostly kept up w/ cleanings during Covid but my brother sadly did not. I made him call for an appointment and he had a cleaning last week and also needs a deep cleaning.?
Yikes! I’ve never heard of needing a deep cleaning. I hope it goes smoothly for him, and hope your appointment went smoothly too.
Ouch! Mr. Jalapeno has had to have a couple of deep cleanings. Not pleasant.
NR Musc for Her (Oil) from 2007 today. I think I will always love this one. Maybe a CP idea? Wear a perfume that you loved from the first sniff and has remained a love through many years. As this version is discontinued, I’ll eke out the last drops some day.
That would be Rochas Byzance for me.
Aedes de Venustas Signature – Rhubarb and Tomato Leaf heaven!
Great cp idea!
I like that idea too!
Continuing from yesterday, today is Begins with B (perfume name edition) so I’m sampling Beulah from Pomare’s Stolen Perfume which is so far a warm fruity floral.
Heeley Eau Sacrée today, I enjoy the coca cola note on the incense. Would not mind a bottle of this.
And Happy Birthday, Robin! I hope you have a fine day!
You smell great, love Eau Sacrée.
It was quite nice and we had a lovely dinner…ate myself to exhaustion and will be in bed soon 🙂 Thanks!

Happy Birthday Robin! Here’s a song for your perfume and day, (not necessarily appropriate for either). Thank you for another great year of perfume talk and for bringing us all together. to chat, share and make our days better and brighter. I hope the next twelve months bring lots of good times.
Today I’m wearing the slightly ugly/ weird/ interesting A Drop (Issey). Definitely not a crowd pleaser. After the first fifteen minutes I get quite a lot of spice if the temps are warm and also a green ( non identifiable). In some ways it reminds me of Aura with touches of Feu d’Issey, but I need to try it some more. Readers, I bought it.
I was just listening to this song the other day. It’s so great!
How many times do you think he’s had to sing it?
Perfect song, thanks!
Feu d’Issey is one of my regrets (didn’t try it until after it was virtually unobtainable) so I should try Drop before it’s too late!
I’m wearing UNUM Rosa Nigra today.
My bottle of Unum Reliqvia just arrived on the doorstep, what a coincidence!
Ha! Very nice. I don’t even know how that one smells.
Thank you all *so much* for your supportive comments yesterday! I am feeling better after a good night’s sleep, listening to the Sharon Salzberg meditation, and spending a good hour sitting this morning at dawn. As I sat there, I remembered a quote from a Buddhist meditation teacher:
The bad news is you are falling through space without a parachute. The good news is there is no ground.
So I allowed myself to sink into the groundless nature of life.
Wearing SL Bois et Musc.
I am sorry the world is weighing heavily on you at the moment and I wish I was there to give you a big warm hug.
Thank you Kanuka. My troubles are slight compared to what you are going through. Sending warm hugs to you across the Pacific.
I don’t know if you’re into poetry but there is a really nice anthology called Good Poems for Hard Times (Ed. Garrison Keillor, 2005) . I like dipping into poetry when I am down.
https://pcplblog.wordpress.com/2016/10/07/good-poems-for-hard-times/
Thank you! I love a good poem.
Caz, glad to hear you are feeling a bit better today.
Love that quote! Wishing you steady sailing as you work your way through tempestuous seas! ?
Missed your post yesterday but sending you a ?. What comforts me and gives me perspective when I’m down is my yoga teacher’s favorite advice: Be grateful for what you have . . . and be grateful for what you’ve missed.
I’ve heard another version, somewhat similar: If you can’t be grateful for what you’ve got, at least be grateful for what you escape. 😉
Here’s a song for you today: https://youtu.be/s5FyfQDO5g0
That’s a wonderful quote, thanks so much for sharing! Sending you lots of hugs, remember to be kind to yourself.
Glad you were able to sleep well and are feeling a bit better today. Good sleep is so important for a clear mind.
So glad it was a better day! One foot in front of the other, right?
A vanilla day today: Vanille Insensée on one arm and Vanille Galante on the other. It’s not actually raining at the moment, always a win this time of year…
Vanilla + no rain sounds like a good day!
Happy birthday Robyn!
Our run of warmer weather continues, I love being able to wear lighter dresses. Waking up to sunshine makes the whole world look better. I’ve decided on Rose Alexandrie today.
Update on the garage door – we got the company that installed it to get it open so that I could take the car for its service yesterday. The power is now back on, so we need to get the company back to reconnect the door motor.
Thank you — and glad you finally got your car out!
I was looking for something else and saw my old bottle of Guerlain Insolence, the sort of space-ship one, and thought “Why not?” Well I’m sort of regretting that. It’s really too candy-sweet for my taste, though I do love it in moments where the powdery violet-musk rises to the top. It does really remind me then of L’heure Bleue.
I love Insolence. I’m in Black Perfecto and was realizing there’s some crossover between the 2 reading your description.
Wearing Alahine from the splitmeet today. Or is it Alahiiiiiiiiine? Nice in the beginning, but it has dried down to a sort of unremarkable amber on my skin.
That one didn’t work for me either. ??♀️
Bummer. I recall that the reform on that one was not true to the original, which was a rich floral-heavy amber on me.
I’m wearing Shalimar MVP by default since I’m wearing the same shirt as yesterday. Will probably refresh after cleaning up breakfast mess.
I love omelettes more than just about anything, so I made an egg eater omelette with baby spinach, turkey sausage crumbles and cheese- mouthwatering! Now sipping coffee and catching up on comments.
Happy Hump Day!
You should try the egg on the go. No mess.
So true! I’m eating eggs twice a week now!
Happy Birthday, Robin! Thank you so much for NST. One of the nicest places on the internet.
I’m wearing Chanel Gardenia today. I didn’t like it initially, but it has grown on me.
Thank you!
Wearing FM Une Rose because I remember Robin saying she likes this one. Happy birthday again!
Yep, you smell great allo!
Philosophy Fresh Cream Soft Suede, which has basically faded away since I put it on this morning. Ready to try another scent.
No enabler pins for anyone. I was in the local TJ Maxx today and saw Nirvana Rose de Mai, L’Air du Temps, EL Pleasures, Aura and CK One Shock just to mention a few. Didn’t buy anything. I was tempted by the Calvin Klein only because someone on a perfume site mentioned it favorably…I’d never heard of it. I did, however, buy a Lipstick Queen lippy. They had tons of Mac lipsticks also.
We have YouTubeTV instead of cable, and I admit I’ve been missing the cheesy Hallmark Channel Christmas movies. Well…lo and behold, they just added Hallmark to my lineup. So I indulged last night. And it definitely made me start to get into Christmas mode. Then today in TJ Maxx there were all sorts of holiday items. Again, no purchases. In the car, one of our local radio stations was playing Christmas music. My goodness! It’s official. Like a switch was flipped that bypassed Thanksgiving….
The Christmas stuff was out a few weeks before Halloween. I saw Lipstick Queen 3-pack lippies and I was about to buy the pack then realized I don’t wear lipstick!
Busy day in a warm cloud of L’Impacte de Pour un Homme.
Good late afternoon to everybody! I’m in Shay & Blue Blood Oranges from a lovely freebie box from a very kind NSTer. This might very well be the elusive orange fragrance I’ve been searching for. It’s a vivid orange to start with, and gets a little spicymusky in the drydown. Love this!
I have a pot of bolognese simmering on the stove, but I started it late. It’s supposed to simmer for 3 hours. Not sure I’ve ever made a traditional bolognese, so should probably not cut corners. Maybe I’ll put it in the slow cooker on warm and crack the lid a bit? The Wild One needs to RUN at the dog park.
Oohh… I have wondered how orangey it really is. Good to know!
Happy Scented Birthday Robin! I hope that you do/did something nice to mark the occasion.
Another productive day with nice sunny weather for me. Not quite as busy as yesterday was, and I am good with that!
SOTD = moar Agent Provocateur!
You and AP, perfect together!
I’m definitely on another one of my perfume monogamy streaks!
I was able to see some sun earlier today too. Tomorrow though looks like a different story.
Friday will be my yucky weather day… then it gets COLD here! Glad I pulled out some flannel PJ pants today.
Thanks Jalapeno!
Happy happy birthday Robin! Echoing many comments today thanking you for this wonderful space.
SOTD is Jersey, because someone here wore it recently.
I’m having a bit of an off kilter week due to scheduling. It’s parent teacher conference week for my son and he also is off for Veterans day tomorrow, so I’m having to shift which days I work from home.
That’s tough. I like a schedule and I’ve been regularly going in on Fridays. My extra other day has gone by the wayside because it is hard to get up so early on an “off” day.
Wishing you the happiest of birthdays Robin!
Joining everyone else in thanking you for the lovely space that is NST.
Thanks adanst!
SOTD was Chanel No. 22, as I had an actual ladies’ luncheon to attend! No. 22 was perfect for this sunny fall day.
22 is perfect for a lady who lunches!
I agree! I’ve written this before in comments, but No. 22 was the first Chanel I ever bought for myself, when I was in my early 20s. Portia said I was precocious, lol!
Well, I survived the dentist. I go back next week for the permanent crown. I wore my new Ilio hair mist to the appointment. Thanks again to generous Pixel. I love it! It smells like summer, similar to Soliel Blanc but more of a skin scent.
R.I.P. Dean Stockwell. I loved him in everything he did, and had a big crush on his character Al in Quantum Leap.
The Happiest of Birthdays to you Robin!
Yay for surviving the dentist and having only a week with the temporary crown!
I really liked Quantum Leap back in the day.
Thank you!
Wore Oeillet Bengale and Aedes Signature today after getting their email that their house line was finally back. I have samples of each from 2016 that somehow have evaporated yet. Oeillet Bengale is interesting because, based on the description, It should not work for me —- cinnamon is especially difficult for me — but it somehow works and smells so good! And the rhubarb tomato-leaf thing in Signature is fantastic.
Drank a strong and spicy assam-chai blend today to keep me alert after staying up way too late to finish The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest (10 years after the rest of the world).
