It's Monday, and the Monday after #FallBack to boot. It's also National Cappuccino Day. Birthdays: Bram Stoker, Minnie Riperton, Bonnie Raitt, Kazuo Ishiguro, Rickie Lee Jones. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm in Zoologist Panda, the newer version.
Reminder: on 11/12 we're doing Dealer's Choice, edition 5...propose a theme for a Friday community project, and wear a fragrance that fits your theme.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2021, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Mon…day already!? Good morning.
Sotd is EL’s new Sensuous Stars.
Iris is evident from the get go along with sour plum candy. I don’t detect the promised lavender which is disappointing because it’s the main reason I blind purchased it.
Scent is linear and doesn’t change much. Wears close to the skin.
I love the original Sensuous and Noir, I haven’t tried this one.
It’s in that new luxury collection. Don’t think it’s related to the original Sensuous, it didn’t sound like it.
It’s Monday (Ugh, so soon!), and happy National Cappuccino Day! I’ll have a double… My SOTD is Niki de st Phalle, from the Gemini bottle, more than a few spritzes. I forget how much I love this green beauty.
I’m a little sore from yesterday’s workout. I grabbed what I thought was a 12-lb kettleball, it was a 12-kg kettleball. 😯 Obviously, I need to wear my glasses to the gym…. I’ll do some yoga and foam roller exercises for recovery. For now, sneakers on and I’m out the door.
Happy Birthday to Bonnie Raitt!
You smell great! I was looking at NdSP on eBay over the weekend and I’m saddened by how pricey it’s become. As if I need more perfume!
Me too, it used to be as cheap as chips! Buggers…
Wow, those are some eye-popping prices!
Aren’t they? It’s a little shocking.
I am impressed with your workouts, I am too lazy. And I love your scent choice too
Thank you! 🙂
I am a little freaked out that Bonnie Raitt is 72.
I know, me too! Time has flown far too quickly…
I posted on another blog about Sales Associates calling their customers with sales information and a young-bee piped up “that only works if you answer your phone!” Another sign of the times…. 😯
Your workouts sounds great!
Thank you! I need to do more flexibility work! Yoga and Barre are perfect….
So what did you do? Did you go ahead with the very heavy kettlebell, or swap it out? 🙂
I’m wearing Zoologist Koala, from a discovery set.
How is it?
I am not loving Panda.
I wish I liked Zoologist more that I do as I love the bottles and the idea of wearing animal inspired scents. But so far none I have tried agreed with me – except Bee.
Have you tried Elephant? That one grew and grew on me. I still haven’t ordered a bottle yet, though. Many people have enjoyed Camel, Musk Deer, and/or Snowy Owl. I think the new Chipmunk sounds interesting too.
Thanks Calypso! I have a sample of Camel somewhere but never got Elephant. I will try to find it as I cannot remember how it smelled (not love at first impression but was not a dislike either). I was disappointed by Chameleon, Nightingale and Dragonfly which seemed right up my alley but could not enjoy. I have been curious about Chipmunk, loving the sound of the notes.
I love Chipmunk! Hummingbird was a blind buy fail.
Thanks.
I think that I would love Koala if I could really spritz it. My discovery set is not aging well, with many of the fragrances evaporating, or the sprayers malfunctioning. Koala sounds right up my alley, and I liked what I could smell, but it stayed very close to the skin, and I couldn’t really enjoy it.
Housemates in Bee 🙂 Sorry to hear you’re having troubles with the discovery set though!
Late breaking news related to last weeks CP (or was it the week before?)
RE: SWINTON!
Twitter says, and I quote, ” Tilda Swinton remains the only true Queen of the British Isles – #Uchtred of #Northumbria is her 29th Great Grandfather .” Just thought people might find that interesting. 🙂
My SOTD is my tuberose Durga, my precious…
Oh what fun! Thank you, that’s almost certainly the funnest news I will hear today 🙂
More interesting news from the ancient world regarding perfume – this looks like a very interesting class. Apparently a woman chemist/perfumer is referenced in a Babylonian tablet from 1200 BC, making her the oldest known perfumer, as well as the oldest named chemist in the more or less western sphere of influence. Wish I could attend. Maybe someone can?

Huh, didn’t capture the link but if you google that that title you will find it. No affiliation of any kind, just seems really interesting.
That sounds like a great class, and the teacher seems really interesting based on the bio as well.
Very interesting! She does seem very noble.?
Sampling Hindu Kush this morning, and liking it a lot (the La Via Del Profumo one). A little 15 ml bottle is in my LS cart already. ?
15 mls is such a great size! Wish all perfumes came in that size.
Me too! My collection would be so much more manageable. ?
10 or 15mLs is ideal! We can keep hoping.
I’m in the last vestiges of Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille. I’ll probably re-up later this morning. It’s lovely, but I think I like Tonka Imperial a smidge better.
Today is my Friday and I’m thrilled! Four days off to recover from this looong weekend that included a 13+ hour shift on Saturday night/Sunday morning. Got to the van and realized I forgot to return my Vocera and thought “I am NOT going back in the building!” At least not until my next shift on Friday…?
I haven’t opened my Shalimar MVP yet. I don’t know why. I feel like I should keep it pristine. ?
I’ve already decided that when this contract is over in the beginning of January, I’m going to head to Arizona again. BUT, I’m going to schedule a nice weekend stop over (or two weekdays) in Vegas so I can get to all the perfume boutiques in the Bellagio. To hell with gambling, alcohol, and shows- I want Dior, Chanel, and Guerlain! This is probably old hat to many of you, but I’d love to visit those boutiques before I kick the bucket.
Arizona sounds nice and warm and dry! Believe it or not, I’ve never been to Vegas…I’m probably the only person who hasn’t. 😀 But thinking of it as a perfume destination would probably get me closer to going.
Enjoy the down time this week!
We’re “Never been to Vegas” twins! ?♀️
The only thing drawing me is potential perfume shopping and I’d love to see the fountain show thingy. I’m so gauche I’ll stick out like a sore thumb amidst all that glittery sophistication, but that’s ok because I’ll be smelling fabulous! ?
There is really good food in Vegas, too. Also lots of bad food.
I definitely don’t need food- good or bad. I’ve gotten a wee bit fluffy over here. ☹️ (Since there’s no emoji with a double chin, this will have to do.)
I doubt you’ll stick out. LV is such a broad mix of people. I have only been once – deliberately scheduled a long layover between flights from LA to NYC so I could cab to the Strip and wander a bit. I regret not visiting the boutiques you mention, but it was a long time ago. And…you need to meet your Guerlain SA!
I’m quite sure he’ll have NO idea who I am but I’d love to thank him in person. He really was a treat to deal with. ?
Nope! I’ve never been, either.
I’ve only been to Vegas once, but that was plenty!
The fountains were one of the highlights, for sure. I also enjoyed visiting the Hoover Dam and Red Rocks park as a way to get off the strip and all the chaos. And the Neon Museum was a lot of fun. The perfume boutiques sound like some of the best possible things you could do in Vegas, though.
You must be peeking into my brain! Lots of wonderful free camping near Vegas and January is about the only time of year it will be cool enough for me. I wanted to stop when I was headed north to Washington this year, but it was already too hot to be comfortable. Never heard of the Neon Museum, I’ll have to research it. Thanks for the suggestions.
Sounds like a plan and that doesn’t sound like fantasy either. I’ve only been to Vegas as part of a business trip so I don’t believe that counts. That said, do also stop by Louis Vuitton!
I’m not big on name brand handbags or fashion, so I’ll skip LV. Besides, if they see me walk into the store in my baggy mom jeans, battered t-shirt, and faded flannel shirt they’d probably have security tailing me the entire time. ??
Hey, even the frumpily-dressed can win big and spend big.
I read an article about Birkin Bags, and they noted how a customer’s clothing has much less influence on SA service in LV boutiques than in, say, Paris boutiques, precisely because 1) they never know who just hit a huge jackpot and is looking to spend it; and 2) people who might dress in head-to-toe designer on a typical day where they live might be in more casual clothes while on vacation or want to be more incognito while in LV.
Enjoy your stretch off! I’ve never been to Vegas either. Can I join you?? Perfume shopping sounds like more than gambling to me too. Have fun.
Thank you, and of course join me! We can sniff until our noses fall off. ??
Had a great time in Vegas at a friend’s wedding (they were married by an Elvis impersonator, with two showgirls as witnesses!!) I am sure that the perfume boutiques are worth the majority of your time, but the Bellagio fountains and glass sculpture ceilings are great for a visit. As someone else said, there is great food–and if it is still playing, a very old school Vegas show JUBILEE has it all–topless showgirls, battle scenes, and a sinking ship. Don’t miss it!
I was thinking of staying at the Bellagio for a few reasons: 1) SO convenient to the big three boutiques! 2) The Fountains!
3) If I get the cheapest room, it’ll still be a very enjoyable splurge for me.
Maybe you can ask for the healthcare discount?
Is there such a thing? I never knew…
Unless you ask, you wouldn’t know. Also AAA or AARP provides discounts as well.
Ride the monorail in Vegas! It’s a great way to navigate long distances up and down The Strip.
And no, you won’t stand out. The sidewalks in Las Vegas are crammed with everyone you can imagine, and a couple of things you will have to see to believe.
None of the SAs there will make any judgements about how you are dressed should you visit a boutique. Sometimes dressing up is an invite for trouble.
I agree with the other posters who have said that Vegas is a wonderful foodie destination. I had some of the best meals in my life there. Also plenty of edible dreck (avoid that!).
Oh, no clue there was a monorail there! Clearly I need to do some research. I wonder if doggos are allowed on the monorail..? I already checked the Bellagio and they’re fine with four-leggeds. She just loves to go anywhere and everywhere and she charms the pants off everyone she meets, so I like to take her with me as much as possible. I wish I had half her personality! ?
And that last line in your comment I initially read as “edible crack,” which wouldn’t surprise me at all. ?
No idea if dogs are allowed on the Monorail or not. I found out about it purely by chance: there was a station right at the hotel I was staying at. Don’t remember the stops or if it was free to casino guests. Been almost 10 years…
Oh, a trip to LV sounds great! I used to travel there frequently for business, I disliked the smoking in the casinos, but I loved the food, shows, and shopping. 🙂
I love Vegas. Don’t forget the le labo and diptyque boutiques!
I’ve been to Vegas at least 15 times since 2001. And I am a heavily tattooed woman who until recently could not afford to dress very well. Every time I’ve gone I’ve always been treated extremely well in all the luxury boutiques. The last time I was there (in July) I wandered into Hermes wearing a 20 year old Rancid t-shirt and jean shorts from Target and was treated with absolute courtesy. I think they’ve seen everyone and everything.
You are my people! ? I need to probably google all the fragrance stores there so I don’t miss anything. Thanks for the heads up about le labo, Diptyque, and Hermès. Didn’t even know they had boutiques there…
I would agree with this…in Vegas they don’t seem to make the same assumptions about who is a viable customer that they do on the East Coast. Or they’re just nicer, who knows.
Have a wonderful time there! I have never been brave enough to go into those boutiques. I think I’ll try it the next time I go 🙂
Great plan! I’ve only been to Las Vegas once, and it was fun for a weekend, but I would only go back for two reasons: the perfume boutiques, and to see Cirque du Soleil’s show The Beatles LOVE again, at the Mirage. It was simply wonderful, especially if you’re a lifelong Beatles fan like me and my husband. Highly recommend!
Wearing Helena Rubenstein Heaven Scent from a freebie from CobraRose. It’s vintage and smells like I remember but couldn’t have told you when I was in jr high, an Aqua Net hairspray open and heliotrope dry down. It’s been on a couple of hours and is almost gone, nice trip down memory lane.
Oh, what fun!
Spending Monday in a cloud of powdery vanilla yumminess, Oriental Express.
Mmm I love that stuff. I bought my husband a bottle. Turns out he’s not crazy about it, but wears it because I adore it on him.
Tell him he can send it my way 😀
Your SOTD is fabulous!
Commando so far. I’m going to head upstairs to ride my bike for a little while before plunging into today.
The good news is that the upholsterer is supposed to be showing up today with a bench for the dining room. And last week, the painter turned up to fix the things he did wrong (although he didn’t fix all of them, but I’ll just do them myself at this point). With that, we’ll be almost done with the reno, though there’s no end in sight for the pieces left (waiting on IKEA to get stock, as we have been for months). I’m in my seventh month with this reno, and I’m SO over it.
At this stage, it seems much faster to gestate a baby than finishing your reno. Supply chain issues much?
Oh gosh, how frustrating! Renovations just make you feel off kilter until they’re finally completed. Hope the Ikea shipper hops to it!
7 months?!? ARGH!
I can only imagine how frustrating that is. Pouting a glass of red wine for you!
Fille en Aiguilles today for another cool and grey workday. I hate winter season.
Will make a big pot of Poulet en riz now, hope this improves my mood.
If it works, then I need to do a big pot of Poulet en riz 😉
Utterly off-season in AG Le Chevrefeuille. Haircut later. Sunny weather, high of 65F today, so just lovely. I plan to enjoy it while it lasts.
I am also going to the hair salon
Haircut triplets!
The Japanese honeysuckle that grows wild is just beginning to flower down here, it smells so deliciously sweet.
I love how they smell. I wish their flowering season lasted longer around here.
We had that honeysuckle (or something very similar) when I was a kid. I moved away as an adult, but when I’m back and it’s in bloom, it stops me in my tracks!
Someone say cappuccino day???
I am dressing up and going out for the first time in 2 years.. I am really anxious. Will I be able to walk in heels? Fit into my dress?
I am thinking for this evening either 5th Avenue by Fragrance du Bois, which is a amber/rosey/spicy or Rose Prick rose with pachouli. In the mood for Rose for some reason…
Have fun! I’m sure you’ll look great! Hopefully walking in heels will be just like riding a bike.?
Have a lovely time!
Good luck! I had similar challenges first time I went out (and the answers were No and No ?). But I’m sure you will look and smell glamorous !
Thanks! I am off to the hair salon..
Have a wonderful time!
Enjoy!
Enjoy! I am sure you will not only rock it with the outfit but smell fabulous!
Have a lovely evening. I hope it turns out to be relaxing and fun
Have a great time!
Roses for a special event, for sure! I hope you have a wonderful time getting ready and then a wonderful evening being out!
Have a wonderful time!
Have fun! If you aren’t feeling the dress and heels, glamourous lipstick and sparkly earrings along with your blow out will convey dressed up, and whichever rose you go with will seal the deal.
It’s like you read my mind, got a blow out and borrowing kitten heels from a friend
Rose is always a good choice–I go with amber, but it’s all wonderful!
The kids smelled both and went with the amber Perfume du Bois scent. You are right on point
A hair appointment is a great start to feeling fabulous! Enjoy!
Oh, have fun! I miss wearing heels…
That sounds fun! Have a great time.
How wonderful, have a great time 🙂
I slept horribly Saturday night with the time change, but luckily slept better last night.
I’m in a Touch of Dame New Musk perfume oil.
My son flew home yesterday morning. For keeps! I’m so excited to have him back home and happy that we will all be together for the holidays. Watching he and madtownteen talk and laugh with each yesterday made my heart happy.☺️
Ugh, same. I was so excited to wake up Sunday morning and see 5:54 on my watch. Until I realized it said 3:54 ?
You smell yummy. That musk is great in both formats.
Oof. That’s early.
Thanks! This is a great musk and I had such high hopes for his JD Musc but I am completely anosmic to that one.
So was I!
I had the oddly opposite reaction Sat night. Went to bed after 12:30 am and didn’t get up till 9:30, which was really 10:30 to my body. I never do that.
Sounds like the hours my 16 year old keeps. Maybe you are a teenager at heart.?
I’m so happy for you that Johnny is home!
If it’s alright with you Mrs.C, I am changing his name to Ritchie now. Lol. ( I crack me up ?)
Lol, you crack me up too.?
Thanks lillyjo!
Great news that your son is back!
Thanks Jalapeno, it is!?
You smell amazing, and I’m so happy to hear your son is home! What a great early November gift.
Thanks sistine! Yes, I’m so happy that he’s back.?
Enjoy those kids! It is such fun to see the siblings enjoying each other, and nowadays I also get the pleasure of seeing them interact with their cousins, now that age differences matter less.
Wore Coco Mademoiselle Intense this morning and now in Happy Heart. Just waiting for my uniform to dry so I can get ready for work. Can’t wait for the Sephora sale to start for me tomorrow. Plan to get a full bottle of Happy Heart and a lotion set for my mother.
Every time Sephora has this twice yearly sale, the stuff I have waiting for me in my cart has sold out. And doesn’t get restocked until AFTER the sale is done. I’m so annoyed by this, that I shop more and more at Ulta. And whatever happened to Marc Jacobs?! His eye pencils were the BEST!
I get that problem too but always have alternatives. If I don’t, I will see if Ulta has it.
I heard that Marc Jacob’s beauty line was being discontinued.
Oh heck! I thought it was just a pause to “re-brand.” I think the product line was a good seller, so I’m wondering (and crying at the loss of those pencils!) why it was discontinued? ?
I know! Its always something you love and hard to replace. I’ve heard good things about Victoria Beckham’s line but have never tried anything from it.
https://www.beautyreviewsdaily.com/marc-jacobs-beauty-is-closing-down/
Agreed-those pencils are incredible.
Same here. I am immensely ridiculously annoyed that the stuff I wanted to get in the Sephora sale is already out of stock. On principle, I won’t be buying it from Sephora even when it comes back in stock.
Yes! Those eye pencils were the best! I was so annoyed to find that Sephora doesn’t have them any longer.
That said, I bought a Pat McGrath eye pencil as a replacement that is quite good.
Those pencils are fabulous.
Pretty sure that what I want at Sephora will be sold out by the time I can use my discount.
Unburied my 3-4 samples of the brand and put on Ibitira today inspired by Xerjoff wearing NSTers. I can’t believe I didn’t give this more attention before (I think it’s because it’s not a spray but a dabber sample). It’s a really lovely iris.
A lovely iris is always a good thing 🙂
Trying Ormaie L’ivree Bleue today from the Splitmeet…powdery floral vanilla w/ some chocolate so far.
Having a tough morning w/ some IT issues and have been on hold waiting for our help desk for 45 minutes…??
In happy news, my rock star sister is having her 11th of 12 chemo treatments today.??She lost a little more weight in the last couple weeks and some hair around hairline…though still has the large majority of her hair. She is working to power through the final two sessions. She will be done before Thanksgiving!!! Feeling grateful.♥️
Your sister is a rock star. I hope thanksgiving will bring your sister some relief
Best wishes to your sister. She is a total rock star!
It’s nice to hear your sister is doing great!
Happy to hear she’s almost done! ??
Glad your rock star sister is almost done!!
Light at the end of the tunnel – your sister has done a great job!
Great to hear your sister is almost done with chemo.
Yay!
Yay for your sister!
❤️sending all best wishes to your sister and you❤️
Happy to hear she is doing will and almost done. Sending positive energy for those last two sessions.
Nothing but love and good wishes for your amazing sister…..rock on!!
So glad to hear she’s almost done and doing well!
Hoping that your sister continues to power thru what has to be a difficult chemo schedule. She’s kicking it!
Your sister is a total rock star! I’m so glad to hear she’s nearing the end of her series of treatments.
That’s good news — best wishes to your sister!
Such wonderful news about your sister. 🙂
Heading out to my first dental cleaning in 3.5 years (!) in Elie Saab Gardenia. I got some in the swapmeet and am head over heels for it.
I went to the dentist a few weeks ago for the preliminary exam & imaging and was bracing myself for a horrid and $$$$ prognosis requiring gum replacement or a root canal or something awful.
Instead he said “you have very good teeth and healthy gums.” I was stunned and speechless as my previous dentist had me on a rigorous schedule of periomaintenance under constant threat of expensive work that needed to be, or had already been, done.
I don’t really know what to make of this situation but my pocketbook appreciates the break.
Dentists are a challenge. I had one who insisted on doing a lot of work. And then one in NYC who was conservative – I really miss him and his office. Need to find a dentist in my new home.
Maybe you have your previous dentist to thank for the good report!
Good dentists are difficult to find! My previous experiences have been that the least inclined to invasive interventions may be more honest and reliable. And in doubt look for a second opinion! I spared myself an unnecessary root canal a few months ago- diagnosed with irreversible pulpitis by one, refuted by another and the pain went away in a week- my tooth has been totally fine since ?
Wow! Good news for you! That’s awesome.
I don’t understand how dentists can be so different. I had a coworker tell me the story recently of how her husband developed 6 cavities in between regular visits, got a second opinion who said his teeth were fine.?♀️It came up because we see the same dentist.
Yeah, my dentist here always went on about how great my teeth are because I grew up in the U.S., where water is fluoridated. He retired, though, and the new dentist seems to have far more “watch areas” than the old one. Hmm.
YAY for a good dental checkup! And yeah, a dentist you can trust seems to be absurdly difficult to find.
I need to find a new dentist. Your story gives me hope!
That ES Gardenia wasn’t getting much love from me so it makes me happy to hear how it is living its best life with you!
Saw that I had a sample of Gucci Guilty, which I’ve never tried. Read about it in Fragrantica and decided to go for something else. (Would appreciate NST thoughts on this one.)
So, I did hajuusuri-level spraying of Narciso white cube. Goes beautifully with my flannel shirt and jeans.
Love White Cube and it lasts a long time on me. You smell lovely!
I like Gucci Guilty. I used to have the Black version.
I recall Gucci Guilty as being inoffensive.
Nice!
Wearing Moonlight in Chiang Mai from the splitmeet. This is the splitmeet winner so far! It’s wonderful–sweet, sour, spicy, woody, unusual. It fills a similar space in my scent wardrobe as the beloved Fils de Dieu. But it smells totally different. I love it!
I am wearing Chypre Mousse for Bram Stoker. There is a really good novel based on Stoker’s ( real life) time running the Lyceum theatre in London and his relationship with two leading Victorian actors Ellen Tracy and Henry Irving while he is making notes and working on gathering material, and writing Dracula. It’s like a gothic novel within a novel. The book is called Shadowplay by Joseph O’Connor
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/16/books/review/joseph-oconnor-shadowplay.html
Warm here, heading to 20C and the gardens hereabouts smell of mowed grass and roses. Have a good week.
You smell great and that’s a fascinating sounding novel.
I just added that book to my “Read this” list! Thanks.
Rodin Bis today. I’m pretty much annoyed by everything today – work and people and especially work – but trying to stay low key so that no one will notice (and working from home certainly helps with that). I need to get out for a walk but I have soooo many meetings.
Sorry you’re having a rubbish work day. I hope you can leave it all behind this evening.
Thanks, Kanuka. It’s partly just Monday and time change, etc. I will soldier on!
Time change Monday is awful. Drivers get discombobulated…there had been a good number of accidents around here and they happened while it was light out!
Our weather has been all over the map – Saturday was really cold and we all wondered when we’d ever see summer and, lo and behold, summer arrived on Sunday.
Guerlain’s Vol de Nuit for me today.
Did you get the garage door open?
Aaah, Vol de Nuit! So gorgeous. You smell great!
Thunked my mini decant of MFK Oud Silk Mood.
Not really gonna miss it to be honest.
Tried a spritz of this again over the weekend and it was close to a scrubber…
Sampling Juxtaposition from TSVGA today which I am so far liking but probably not enough to buy. This tends to be the case with many things I sample lately–It’s hard to be wowed when I have such a good collection
Yes, this!
Hmm, everything was irritating me at work today but as if I had suspected as much in advance, I chose a newish bottle of a very old favourite-Armani She. I wore this a lot as a student and it seemed comforting at the time, almost woolly. It was certainly a good choice today so I am glad I gave into nostalgia last year and bought this little canister (it’s nearly always on offer at the chemist here). The dry down smells very nice on my cardigan (also a relic from my student days)-yep, woolly is the word for it! Wishing you all a god week with only minor irritations ?
Hope the rest of your week improves. Woolly sounds good (as long as it’s not wet wool).
Thank you Kanuka! And no, it is definitely dry and soft rather than wet ?
A good week, apologies for the typo!
Depending on the deity involved, a god week might be something nice, too. ? I wish my typos were that nice.
You guys.. I have to whisper this.
I just got some good news. ( I don’t want any bad news to hear me) To celebrate I want to send out a big ole bag of mystery samples to a regular U.S nster. You can call dibs here and email me at gm razoog in the village of yahoo’s (no spaces)
I am trying out Jubilation 25. It’s not really working for me though and will switch to something else after dinner.
Thanks to everyone that sent me good luck last week!
Yay for the good news!
Hey! Delighted to hear this! You broke a tooth and brought yourself good luck!
Congrats on the good news!
Dibs!! Is it ok to say dibs if it doesn’t look like anyone has done so yet? Thanks
It’s yours!
Squeeeeeeeeeeeee on the good news! That’s awesome. ?
I will look up the manufacture date on that bottle of Peace Lone & Juicy. I know that particular perfume was d/c’ed a while back.
If it came with the bracelet attached it’s older. The newest ones just have a string tassel.
I have a website that can tell me month and year of manufacture as long as I find the code. Pretty sure the bottle I have has the bracelet and tassels.
ARGH! That should say “Peace LOVE and Juicy”! I need new glasses.
Hooray for the good news (I whisper along with you)!!
Thanks for the whisper. I am really nervous my car might find out something good happened… lol
So happy you were the recipient of GOOD NEWS! Yay! I hope it just keeps snowballing! ?
(whispering): hurray for good news!
Woo hoo on the good news!
Yay for good news, lillyjo!
Whispering yay for good news!
Yay for your good news!
Yesterday was my birthday, so we went out! to! dinner! Something we have barely done in the past eon. We tried a restaurant that was new to us; enjoyed it a lot, we’ll be going back there. My scent for dinner was Armani Prive Bois d’Encens, and I smelled fabulous 🙂
Wish me luck, I am about to start cleaning out my attic. Yikes. No scent yet — it’ll be dust and cobwebs, soon…
Happy belated birthday, pixel! Glad that you enjoyed your dinner out.
Sorry you have to battle the attic today.
Happy Birthday!
I am sending you my extra good luck for the attic!
Happy birthday, and have a wonderful year. Good luck with the cleaning …ugh.
Happy Belated Birthday! Sounds like you enjoyed your celebration very much. ????
Happy birthday! You smelled amazing!
Very happy birthday wishes! I hope for a year of health and happiness ahead for you.
Happy Birthday, pixel! Anything more about the roadworks?
Happy birthday pixel! So glad you went out and ate something wonderful 🙂
Happy belated birthday!
It was time to bring out Wrappings today. I’ve missed this one!
Is it that time already? It seems like it wasn’t that long ago everyone was getting the gift sets.
It is time! I have a backup gift set..
I never put my bottle of Wrappings away!
Great idea! I bet it’s really good in summer too!
To me, it sure is. Sometimes I like it even better in the heat of summer than I do in cooler weather.
SotD – Masque Milano’s Russian Tea, my latest arrival today. Ummmm it smells… exactly as I imagined it to smell given the list of notes. As a tea lover it is a must have. It is this exact kind of tea my Grandpa in Poland used to make and drink: really strong black tea with sweet raspberry marmalade. Yummi!!
What a wonderful description, thank you for this. Hope you enjoy it as much every time you wear it!
oooo, that sounds yummy.
Happy Birthday to Bram Stoker, creator of one of the best villains of all time!
Just as there are many iterations of the aforesaid Count in the movies, so are there many iterations of rose + oud in perfume. Today I’m wearing one of my favorites of these, By Kilian’s Rose Oud. I smell luscious and kind of moldy….. yes Count please kiss my neck, ahhh, swoon!
Did you see the 2020 BBC series with Claes Bang? I enjoyed his performance in the first episode ( I didn’t see the third episode )
No, but I’ll have to look for it!
SOTD is Bois D’Armenie from the split meet. This is take-a-deep-sniff-while-my-eyes-roll-back-in-my-head fantastic. Benzoin can sometimes be headache inducing for me when it is syrupy or sweet, but benzoin like this – with incense and wood hits of iris and pepper is just perfect. I do wish it projected more on me. I went hajusuuri level with the sprays this morning, and it has lasted, but it was a skin scent from the jump.
Drinking Clipper Ship’s enchanted forest tea today and trying to decide if I like it better with or without milk.
Woo hoo on hajusuuri-level sprays!
In Jo Malone Oat & Cornflower. JM often means business when something it limited edition, and it was good luck/good timing to find it a couple of years later in a Cosmetics Company.
That’s my favourite from that collection. A little like a toasted coconut/ oat biscuit

Going with a cover this time, although I do enjoy the original very much, too.
I’ve been limping around today due to a VERY sore knee. Not quite sure what happened. I just woke up and it was achy and upset. I don’t think that a big weather front passed thru overnight? ?
SOTD = back in Agent Provocateur.
Maybe your knee is predicting weather for a future date!
I hope it feels better tomorrow.
Great song, I like this version best.
Maybe one of the cats slept on my knee? They do enjoy the human bed when they have a chance!
Thanks! I hope that my knee gives me a break tomorrow. If not, I know where the Advil is…
I hope your knee feels better soon!
Thank you sistine!
Ouch on the sore knee, pun absolutely intended. You could have slept on it without realizing it. I hope it’s better.
That’s also a possibility (sleeping weird on it). I changed up my sleeping setup over the weekend a bit, and am now using two pillows instead of one to prop up my head. Does wonders for my sinuses in the a.m.
Ugh, hope the knee is better tomorrow! There is nothing worse than waking up with aches and pains you did not have the night before.
I had a similar mysteriously painful knee – all gone now just like yours!
In Capsule Parfumerie Legion, a beautiful anise, leather, oakmoss and caramel concoction.
Oh, that does sound interesting.
I think you’d like it 🙂
Second that. What a collection of notes!
In Lake today. I think I have about 5 more days worth before I finish the travel spray.
Today I resolved to take better care of my physical self – so I am upping the yoga, veggies, water and vitamins and lowering the negative inner voice, red wine and inertia. My body has been a freaking trooper for 45 years and it really deserves a period of being looked after for once. I may even book a massage!
This sounds like a great plan! I am cheering for you!??
Excellent plan for some Zen and the Art of Human Maintenance! ??
Good on you!
SOTD = Commando Eau de Nada
I had my haircut at an awkward time (1pm) so decided to not wear any perfume. That said, I decanted everything I needed to for the latest split and two swaps AND dropped off the packages at the post office. I am working on another swap plus a freebie.
My nephew has breakthrough COVID! He’s feeling OK. My sister thinks he got it at a party he attended on October 30th. He and another roommate have it. My sister and BIL had lunch with him last Sunday, so I think they are considered exposed. In hindsight, I’m glad I changed my mind and did not go! My sister and BIL are awaiting their PCR test results.
In other news, I made an appointment for my booster tomorrow. I was actually shocked that I can have it tomorrow as I thought they only have booster clinics on Thursdays and Sundays. Not complaining and I’m glad once I’m boosted! Wish me luck!
I hope your sister and her family will all be ok, and that your nephew recovery is full and quick. Wishing you very good luck with your booster tomorrow!
Thank you, lillyjo!
Oh boy, best wishes to your nephew & family. Glad it was easy to find a booster appt.
Thank you, galbanumgal. I wanted to be sure to get the J&J booster.
You are the best! Got my package today — thank you!! I’m glad you’ve been able to line up your booster; my husband and I are planning to go get ours on Wednesday. I hope yours is uneventful and highly effective!
Enjoy the package! Good luck to you and your husband!
I hope everyone affected recovers quickly. Glad you are getting your booster tomorrow!
Thanks, Gail!
ZOMG! Sorry to hear about your nephew’s breakthrough case. I hope that everyone in your family who has been affected will recover quickly, or else test negative. Sounds like you had a guardian angel looking out for you on that.
Good luck on your booster tomorrow!
Thanks, jalapeño. You’re right about the guardian angel.
Hoping your nephew and the roommate have the mildest of symptoms and that your sister and BIL avoid it all together. If they saw him less than 24 hours after he was exposed, then hopefully his body wasn’t shedding much of the virus yet.
Congrats on getting your booster tomorrow! Seems like a good reason to celebrate/reward yourself with a fragrant treat. ?
Hoping your nephew recovers quickly. And everyone else is negative.
Glad to hear your nephew is not too sick and your sister and BIL are in the clear!
I am in Bill Blass Nude. Remembering I got this freebie at my first NST meetup in Manhattan. Thanks all for the memories! You all thought it smelled good on me, so I happily took the bottle home (I cannot remember who owned it originally.)
Yesterday was likely our last mild day where just a fleece vest will do. We took an afternoon hike in the nearby state park. Managed to get turned around a bit, which led to some Blair Witch jokes. Got back on track and stopped at a waterside parking area to enjoy the sunset. Just gorgeous.
