Guerlain has launched Shalimar Millésime Vanilla Planifolia, a new fragrance for women. Shalimar Millésime Vanilla Planifolia is a limited edition flanker to 1925's Shalimar, and follows 2020's Shalimar Philtre de Parfum.
The cornerstone of Shalimar’s revolutionary sillage, vanilla has now inspired an extraordinary Millésime edition. Guerlain’s loving tribute to one of the most iconic and luxurious essences in its palette. Overdosed in the composition, Guerlain’s signature vanilla tincture reveals all its facets and enhances the sillage of the iconic oriental scent.
Part tribute, part innovation, Shalimar Millésime Vanilla Planifolia adopts the graphic codes of the bottle on a pedestal created by Raymond Guerlain in 1925. The famous “bat” label is paired with typography in Art Deco-inspired geometric lines. A leather tie encircles the neck: an evocation of the fragrance notes of the Vanilla Planifolia tincture that distinguishes this unique composition.

Guerlain is one of the rare Perfume Houses to manufacture its own tincture of vanilla. This ancestral process is passed on to perfumers from generation to generation. Entirely produced in the factories of the House, the vanilla tincture is made from pods from organic farming of exceptional quality. Coming from Madagascar, these are received fresh at the Orphin factory and then manually cut using a cutter - a tool that Jacques Guerlain was already using at the time of Shalimar's creation ... Finally, they are macerated in alcohol from organic wheat farming for several months. This process allows them to develop the absolutely unique richness of their aromas.
Guerlain Shalimar Millésime Vanilla Planifolia is available in 50 ml Eau de Parfum, €106.

Wow. I am very interested!
I am sure you are not alone 🙂
I am not interested at all 😉
They also released a video on the Guerlain website.
I wonder if this will be similar to beloved Madagascar vanille flanker
Guerlain keeps doing this don’t they- reissuing old perfumes with different name and bottle.
Late to Shalimar appreciation and very late to the Shalimar flankers! Reading how many nsters have loved this one I always wanted to try it..
plus liking the idea of vanilla overdose.
I would say I haven’t met a Shalimar flanker I didn’t like, but I love the Madagascar flanker. I would say, honestly speaking, I prefer it over the original.
I haven’t really been keeping tabs, but I’m thrilled that Guerlain is doing Shalimar flankers again – rather than flankers of flankers (Souffles and Initials, etc.) I will be trying this as well as the Philtre, which I have yet to sniff.
I thought the Philtre was just OK. I have to re-smell again. But do try and let me know what you think.
I didn’t love the Philtre either.. do love Shalimar EDT and EDP.
Me too.
Major major major want 🙂
😉
I know the feeling ?
Split! 😀
Now this is a major want.
Just when I thought my lemming was going settle down…*rushes off to delightful Philtre FB to distract*
I am still mad at Guerlain lol. 50 Shalimar and LPRN flankers and discontinue some gems. Just my taste here but no Shalimar flanker has been a must have to me..except the Souffle which the bottle had lots to do with it lol.
I am mad at them too, but still love any Shalimar that comes my way
