I smelled it the other day and I was bored out of my mind
Same.
I did not smell it, but just the idea that they keep changing it and using the same name, and calling it new, is enough information for me.
I saw a commercial for this last night and LOLed at the “new” Miss Dior marketing angle. Not new!
The original version seems better suited to that song – and the images are an odd mix of ’70’s nature girl and urban “empowered” 2000’s girl who visits almost every perfume ad in the last decade. But Ms. Portman is very lovely and gives it her all.
Agree with all of that! In general, Janis Joplin singing Cry Baby is a really odd choice with these visuals.
I guess I’m in a bit of a bad mood when it comes to Dior. I found a sample of Dior Joy in my stash and sprayed a bit on my shoulder yesterday. Bad idea. Sample went in the trash immediately.
It’s odd that they are using this song to market to people that hate all things old.
That too.
Wonder if they even know it’s old? I have to agree, it’s an odd choice of song for the ad. Imagine teleporting this target market back to a concert in the early 70s… patchouli oil, cigarette smoke, incense, sweat, dirty hair, stale beer, skunky pot… they’d all run screaming from the venue!
You would have to take their phones and give them Bic lighters, lol.
Yes, how many times will they redo this? Sad.
Until they get it right?
then i am looking forward to a version number ∞featuring ms Portman’s grown-up children
🙂
I guess they are trying to make it an all time blockbuster, but, really?
If it were an all time block buster, they wouldn’t be changing it all the time, would they?
Hard to say. I have no idea why it gets reformulated so often. I have no idea if their customers even notice.
