Coty’s touch-less fragrance tester is a digital innovation that gives customers the ultimate control over fragrance discovery in store. While spray testers oversaturate the air, overwhelming the senses and surrounding environment, this device delivers a single droplet of liquid directly to an arm or a blotter, offering customers a less invasive testing experience. It also uses data to allow Coty, in partnership with retailers, to optimize the placement of the testers and the customer experience by ensuring beauty advisors are on the spot when needed.

I find this exciting – the miasma of men’s colognes hanging in the air when I walk through Macy’s or Dillard’s has always been off-putting. I’m looking forward to trying scents on my actual skin without having to hunt down a sales associate.
It seems awfully late in the game given how department stores are dwindling, but better late than never, maybe?
You have a very good point. I can’t see this sort of thing taking off at Harrod’s or Bergdorf or other high-end retailers since it wouldn’t be the right kind of experience to that kind of customer…
I want to buy their apparatus, so I can apply a single drop of Portrait of a Lady and not overwhelm the environment.
🙂
Goodbye to the spritz chicks…
