Happy Hump Day! Also: Let It Go Day (working on it!) and United Nations Public Service Day. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm in Ormonde Jayne Isfarkand, for what looks to be a perfect weather day: sunny, not too hot, not too cold.
Reminder: on 6/25, we're marking Anthony Bourdain's birthday. Wear a fragrance that you think of as adventurous, or interpret this project in any way you like.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2021, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

I am determined to use up a bunch of things before I even consider buying anything more: it’s about time. Today I’m in Molyneux Fête, one of those ubiquitous floral chypres from the sixties: my bottle dates from some time in the seventies and is still in perfect shape — seamless oakmoss from top to bottom, fruit and wood and an indistinct, abstract cloud of flowers. It’s basically a nicer, friendlier Mitsouko, and it is fantastic. I have maybe two millilitres left out of a 30-mL bottle and I mean to enjoy every drop. (I didn’t use up the whole bottle myself: I’m not really capable of that. My mom’s signature scent for decades had been Jolie Madame, and she was hugely disappointed when it was reformulated into irrelevance. I poured her a big spray decant of Fête and the old-school chypre-ness of it made her so happy.)
You smell fabulous! And yes! Enjoy every drop! I love that you shared some Fête with your mom. I bet she is really enjoying it!
That’s a lovely scent connection with your mom!
You smell lovely and it is so sweet of you to share with your mom.
That was a great gift for your mom!
You smell FABULOUS.
I’m wearing the Dior Jasmin today, it’s nice enough as a lot of the Diors in the Collection Privée are, but I doubt I will ever replace any of the minis I got with a larger bottle. Tea was a good Assam Halmari, and I will take a little time to consider what the next one will be.
I had a nice cup of Assam this morning and followed that up with a nice iced latte 🙂
I ended up making some Lavender oolong from le Palais des thés. A good evening beverage 🙂
The Jasmin des Anges? Me too. Astounding. My decant just arrived in my inbox (curtesy of Royalty Scents ) and I applied it just as I began skimming NST. And boom, you’re comment was right at the top! Kismet!! The perfume breaks no new ground, but it is very pretty. I get something akin to honey in the scent, but some jasmines go that way for me. I wouldn’t dream of getting one Dior’s massive bottles, but will enjoy this decant.
Jasmin des anges it is, and I agree with you, very pretty indeed.
Wearing my Scentbox choice this month, Vetyverio, and watching the weekend temperature forecast climb up to 109! ?
Ugh. Stock up on ice cubes, and I hope the heatwave is brief!
Great choice! Vetiver always feels cool to me. Take care of yourself, Dorsey. May the heatwave pass earlier than predicted!
Ouch! Stay cool and hydrated.
*cries in Portland OR* Same here!
Solidarity! I’m right across the river in Vancouver.
Oh my.
Blargh! ??
I wanted something that I rarely wear and reached for Anisia Bella. The reason I rarely wear it is because anise (licorice) is one of my least favorite scents, along with vanilla and fig. And yet, when I do wear this very anise forward scent, I quite enjoy it.
Anisia Bella is a terrific hot-weather scent because it’s so breezy. It might actually be my favourite licorice/anise scent. So even if you don’t love anise, you smell great!
Oh, I love that one.
I actually remembered it because you wore it sometime in the last month or so.
🙂
Inspired by Pyramus, today’s SOTD is an old-school chypre, Coriandre by Jean Couturier.
Trying my best to ‘let it go’, always a work in progress. I was out of sorts, which a visit to the gym yesterday didn’t fix, “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” was in my playlist. It’s something I definitely need to work on!
Enjoying a double espresso today, courtesy of Cafe Bustelo.
I am just out of a 75 minute zoom yoga class, I suppose I let a little bit of it go in the process?
Nice! I hope the class was enjoyable. 🙂
A double espresso is a great fixer-upper for the spirit! Hope today’s mood is better.
It hit the spot! Mood is better, I did a little reading last night (All The Ways We Said Goodbye by Beatriz Williams) – it perked up my mood.
I’ll head to the gym in a moment, which should also help.
That entire album from Bobby McFerrin is a great mood lifter. Glad to hear your mood is better!
Gearing up for the sort of day that calls for No.19, but I’m in the mood for something softer so went with Le Lion instead. I’ll be in the field half the day with a consultant who spent most of Monday verbally bullying me — talking over me every time I tried to ask a question, sneering and talking down to me as if he was trying to make me look puny in front of the other guys present, and generally being condescending and sabotage-y. If you ever want to see me get my feminist hackles up, do that! Not looking forward to a rerun and hoping I can keep my irritation in check (also: PMS). Fortunately, after that there are flats of heirloom peaches and a reunion with my son to look forward to, and pasta bolognese for dinner.
During a recent so-called conversation with a constant interrupter the phrase “I was speaking” seemed to work, eventually.
THIS.
I also use the phrases “To come back to WHAT I saying ” or “As I WAS SAYING” in a slightly louder tone. I have also muted the person if I was doing a Teams presentation (I have admin rights for my section).
Can you interrupt him every time he tries to speak?
Grrr, that’s also a huge peeve of mine. I hope your interaction with him is as brief as possible. Hooray for a reunion with your son!!!
Good advice already, so will just say Go Isabella!
GO-GO Gadget Feminist Hackles! Hope that you manage to either keep your cool or put him in his place if you hit your limit for tolerating stupidity for the day!
THIS. All of it.
Verbal bullying and mansplaining is annoying. “I was speaking” or “Let’s circle back” usually works. I try to have a handful of replies at the ready for these types of situations.
You’ve got something to look forward to, peaches, a meet up with your son, and pasta Bolognese for supper sound wonderful! 🙂
I’ve used “You don’t have the floor right now” to shut down interrupters in the past.
Love that! I shut him down a few times on Monday with phrases like “Let me finish what I’m saying” coupled with lots of sternness, and he must have gotten the point because he was way more polite today. Sometimes things work out (or Chanel fixes it all) — the Interrupter stood down, I was just in time to scoop up the last flat of white peaches at the peach farm, I had a nice 1-hour break alone in the secret back garden of a nearby general store, drinking ginger ale and reading Henry Miller and Anais Nin’s correspondence, and then a joyful reunion with my little one. Not at all a bad day after all!
Wonderful!!
I was glad to read that the next day went better! What a frustrating experience, and one I’ve had too. Chanel magic!
Absolutely a Chanel No. 19 day! Coco herself was watching over you today, I’m sure!
Heatwave! Already spritzing AG Nuit Etoilee and Mangdragore from the fridge. For some reason I wear both at the same time – not playing favourites? they don’t seem that different? One per arm, as if they are siblings
Ooh — if I can find my Mandragore sample, I have to try that!
I, too, prefer to “layer” by putting a different one on each wrist, rather than literally.
Mandragore has been getting a *lot* of love here lately — I’m going to have to try it!
Today’s sample from countries I’d like to go explore is Tauer’s When We Cuddle…..(Switzerland). My interview went well yesterday and I’ve got two interviews today with practical. I feel like I should have a job lined up by Monday
Good luck! ☘️
Yay for your interviews and almost new job!??
Crossing fingers for you!
Yay for the good interview vibes! You smell great.
Awesome!?
That’s wonderful! I’m thrilled for you.
Congrats on the first interview and best of luck on the next ones!
good going!!
YES! That’s awesome news- and you smell GREAT!
I will need that luck VERY soon!
Good luck!
Adding more luck ? wishes.
You smell wonderful. I love that Tauer. Congrats on your interview!
w00t w00t for a good interview yesterday! Hope the ones today go as well for you.
Sounds like things went very well with your interviews! Best of luck!
Fingers crossed!
Yes! Sounds like you have some great momentum going!
Trying Narciso Rodriguez Musc Noir based on mentions in the Fragrantica Best of 2021 so far article below. Notes Plum, Musk, Heliotrope and Suede. Got the the 10 ml travel spray on sale from Macy’s which, we all know, makes it perfume math free! 😉
Quite nice. Many on Fragrantica voting it reminds them of old school Poison Eau de Cologne, which I happen to have in the Closet of Shame ? , and will do a proper comparison soon.
https://www.fragrantica.com/news/Good-Start-of-Perfume-2021-Best-Launches-15021.html
Ooh, I loved original Poison! Do let us know how it measures up.
I have a sample of Musc Noir. It’s a good one. I will retest to see if I get any Poison similarity. I hope I do.
Ooh, that sounds quite nice.
Definitely looking forward to that comparison!
Not perfume, but this ad, from the (relatively) inexpensive French watch micro-brand Baltic, is genius:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNLRyDGo1XA
And it’s one that fits with the Anthony Bourdain poll.
I don’t know if anyone has commented previously on what Anthony Bourdain actually wore. I like to think he would have enjoyed a classic vintage vetiver like Guerlain or Annick Goutal.
More adventurous would be L’AP Timbuktu, Andy Tauer’s L’Air du Desert Marocain, or Bruno Fazzolari Lampblack, or you could go minimalist with Escentric Molecules Molecule 03.
Is anyone else thinking vetiver for Anthony, or are you going with gourmand, unconventional, or what?
Vetiver, for sure! He may have gone full-on with MPG Route du Vetiver maybe?
Ah, yes! ?
I’ve been thinking Sel de Vetiver for him, since he wrote of his family spending time on the beach in France when he was a child. Salty, French, screams Bourdain!
Ah, yes — and I love that scent! I knew I was leaving out something important!
Bourbon and tobacco in the mix… he mentioned smelling of these two at one point. Plus depending on the m
…menu you tend to pick up the scents prevalent in the kitchen.
(Sorry my phone
Is being uncooperative) Argh!
Time for tea and books I think, lol.
My iPhone hates me, lol!
Great points!
I think unconventional, boozy, or classic fragrances could all have their place at Bourdain’s table!
? And bon appetit!
That’s awesome! Good luck!
Oops, don’t know why my comment appeared here.. 😯
I think Anthony Bourdain would wear a boozy or tobacco scent. I found an interview with Anthony B. and Eric Lipert – Pappy Van Winkle gets a LOT of love. Youtube video below.
PVW bourbon is pretty good, but not for that price tag…
https://youtu.be/3roOz8g8JHE
Can’t wait to watch this!
Oh, wow — such great responses, everyone!!!
SOTD is from the archives = JM Black Vetyver Cafe.
Thank you for the lovely picture, Robin. Shiraz is quite beautiful although I cannot recommend it in the summer.
I had three marriage certificates. One in English at the US Embassy, one in French at a small church north of Teheran and one beautiful Persian marriage book with edging such as the one in the picture.
I have never been but the images are certainly lovely! Your marriage book must be so wonderful…I just have a dull piece of paper from Pennsylvania.
How wonderful!
Sotd (at least morning) is Iris Nobile and I am really enjoying the iris/star anise combo.
Ohhhh yesss Iris Nobile is a beautiful perfume – I am thinking of Acqua di Parma is the brand – You smell fabulous!!
Thank you and happy belated birthday!
Happy belated birthday! I think I missed it.
Wow, my favorites are coming up today – old-school chypres and vetivers! I’m so tempted, but I had myself set on CdG Kyoto, which will be adventurous for me, since I have never tried it in the summer. For some reason, I think of incense frags as cold-weather wear.
I’ve always wanted to go to Kyoto, too. Maybe someday I’ll make it.
Incense in the summer can be very cooling! Think I’ll join you in Kyoto today.
Wonderful!
You both smell great!
Kyoto is beautiful and there is so much to see there. If you do get a chance, try staying at a Ryokan (traditional inn) and enjoying a kaiseki (seasonal multiple mini course meal).
I will, thank you Kinuknits.
I think of incense as cold weather too, but I find Kyoto on the dry, not sweet side and I think it would work well in the summer. Either way, you smell great!
I am a Jaisalmer fan, and I find it very cooling on a hot day, so I think Kyoto could have the same effect. Hot or cold, you will smell great.
Kyoto is gorgeous! 🙂
Kyoto is a great incense pick for warm/hot weather.
A big storm passed through Poznań yesterday and the entire city was paralyzed and damaged. It took me 2 hours to get back home from work and it’s only 10 kms distance!
Luckily today it has calmed down. I’m in Eau de Neroli Dore.
Glad to hear you’re OK.
Likewise, I think the storm is here now but it has calmed down somewhat. Impressive rain though. Our lawn might turn green again?
That’s scary! I’m glad you made it home safely!
That sounds very frightening! I’m glad you made it home safely. Did the storm cool things down at all?
Wow. 2nding sistine — hope it cooled things off.
Thank goodness you are okay- and you smell great! I hope the storm cooled things off!
Wearing Penhaligon’s Gardenia today, for some BWF energy on a not very hot day. I htink I’ve only got 1-2 more uses in this 5mL. Gotta use it up…
yep, use it up before it evaporates!
I’m wearing Chergui and taking points – Chergui is an adventure in a bottle, no?
Today looks lovely – high of 73, but Sunday, oh dear. Seattle may hit 100. And many of us with no AC. I may have to eat ice cream and play in the water all day.
It smells so good! I especially love it in summer.
Yikes! Ice cream and water sports sound like the ideal plan.
Portland will hit 107- down from the 118F that was originally forecast. It’s ice water and plunging into the cold Pacific for me!
Let It Go Day sounds good ?
I am wearing Spellbound. I love it so much! Weather forecast today is breezy and a little cloudy. I don’t mind it since it will be a nice break from the heat.
I am not an emoji person but I ❤️ Spellbound SO MUCH and you smell so so good.
It’s one of Sophia Grojsman’s greatest achievements. I was almost personally offended when Tania Sanchez gave it such a blistering review. My ancient bottle has started to go sort of weird, but I still wear it every now and then and try to fight through the weirdness to remember what it used to be like.
I had an old bottle that went weird too and I just couldn’t bear it anymore so I got a new bottle. Also I guess buying shows EL that people are still into it so don’t stop production! Haha.
Is the newest revision any good? I just stopped smelling old beloved things because of what was being done to them, but some of the Lauder reformulations were actually not that bad — I think they kept White Linen in good shape, at least the last time I tried it.
SOTD is CdG Grace. I have a few more drops after today to decide if I want to go for a FB. I have so many roses already that I don’t really need it, and could probably get a decant that would last my lifetime, but on the other hand, all of my other roses are Rose + X, but Grace is a straight-forward, no makeup, no filter, pretty rose. And that cat bottle! <3
I happened upon a tester of Ariana Grande's Cloud body spray yesterday at TJMaxx. If it were half as sweet it would be such a great cheapie for me. If only layering it with a salty frag would cut the impact of the sugar like it would in a dessert, but I don't think scents works that way…
Enjoying open windows and low-humidity fresh air today, with a pot of chocolate puer.
Oooh, chocolate puer sounds amazing!
That bottle for CdG Grace is a tempting one! ?
I have a bottle of Grace, and it’s one of the best rose fragrances to have for summer. It’s great for when you get sick of citrusy stuff, but it’s still hot. Go for it! ?
Nancy’s out here making a play for an enabler pin ? (and will probably get it – but not until after my next confession to Donatella)
Yeah, that was pretty transparent, wasn’t it? ?
Wore no 5 edp this morning and now in Coco Mademoiselle Intense. My dogs would rather me stay home and I’d would rather stay home bit need to go to work.
I can totally relate! Hope work goes quickly!
I am wearing Rosa Nobile. Beautiful rose with icy hiss, just perfect for the suffocating weather. So happy I revisited this before tossing it to the sales basket:)
That’s a great hot day fragrance. I impulse bought the little 20ml bottle in a set with Peonia Nobile and Magnolia Nobile. Serving me well!
All of the Acqua Parma ‘nobile’ line is JUST wonderful.
I’m in Clean Reserve Skin from a sephora sample. Ever on the quest for the perfect skin scent.
I was up early and took my car for an oil change and met an old colleague for coffee. It is so nice to be doing social things again.
Taking both my girls for their pre-camp physicals today. The count down is on and they are getting excited.? I’m excited for them! No camp last summer was so disappointing for both of them.
I remember how disappointed they were last summer. What a wonderful contrast to be able to go this year!
Yeah that was crushing. But! time marches on and they are super excited to be going back this year. Older daughter as employee, younger as camper. I wish I could be a fly on the wall for those 3 weeks. They come back with such great stories.
So glad they can go this year!
Thanks lillyjo! Me too!?
Another warm sunny day, only 3 more weeks until I am reunited with more of my perfumes. 🙂 Wearing Cartier VII L’Heure Défendue. Love the iris/cocoa/patchouli vibe.
Such a long wait, though!
It’s already been 3 months since I left home, 3 more weeks is short! Going to be really happy to unpack and settle in.
Are you moving into your new home in 3 weeks?
I thought it was August?
It was, but we got lucky and the sellers moved the closing date up to July 14th. Woohoo!
I wore Dame Perfumery’s Cactus Orchid from a sample because it’s a perfect “clean, can’t offend anyone” scent and I was going to a CPR class. (I realize that doesn’t sound very exciting but I actually think it’s a great scent. Sometimes you need a good crowd-pleaser! A bottle will probably be in my future when the temperatures drop in fall.)
I don’t know if any of you remember when my parents forgot my birthday in April, but today I received an envelope with a money order and a sticky note that said “We’re so sorry we forgot your birthday!” Better late than never, eh?
Let’s hope it was a “this past year was just a muddle of all kinds of weirdness” incident, rather than them forgetting in the long term the anniversary of your birth. 🙂
That was a nice gesture. 🙂
Totally! However, they could have just called. I guess the money will go towards a perfume purchase in Vegas.
Better late than never but I hope next year they remember!
Glad to hear that your parents did send you something for your B-Day after all.
I thought of you the other day when my siblings forgot my birthday. I finally texted them at eleven o’clock and said there’s still time!
Awww! That was nice of them.
And have fun in Vegas!
I’m in SMN Eva again today. Heading off to the paint store to pick up yet more sample chips — just can’t seem to find the right colors for upstairs, although the nice lady at Benj Moore found their version of the color I’ve chosen for the fireplace surround, plus one more that might even be better!
I find choosing the color to be the most difficult part of the whole painting process. I would happily do all of the cutting in around fiddly trim, power through the numb arms of painting the ceiling, and even do a refresh coat every few years, if only a fairy godmother would find the perfect shade for me.
We’d make a good team then — I kind of like hunting down the perfect shade, but nothing on earth could make me paint a ceiling! ?
Ooh, paint colors! I love choosing them. I have plenty of scope this summer since we’re repainting half our house! If I’m using a color that’s new to me, I try to narrow down to two options then get sample pots. The real paint samples have saved me from wrong choices in three rooms!
H U M P D A Y!
1) I am in something delightfully silly and uplifting: BBW Sunshine Mimosa. The mist is basically a diluted baby sister of La Vie est Belle, but with more sweet citrus in the opening.
Bourdain would have HAAAAAATED it- ‘girly’ *, frivolous and fruity.
2) Miscalculated on the island countertop- so I had to order a custom one! *cries* I had to order a custom one- an extra expense, but worth it.
2a) Plumbers are booked out 10- 14 days in advance. IN ADVANCE. Great for plumbers, who deserve to have space and time to do their jobs and be compensated; not so great for DIYers who need help like me. If it can be coordinated with the arrival of the arrival of the countertop GREAT. If not- your girl will on the case!
3) The HEAT this weekend. Lord help us, the heat!
*fragrance is not gendered and this fruity florally sweet gourmand would actually smell great on a guy or emby type person. I Have in fact smelled richer and sweeter on a number of men.
Well who knows, maybe he would have loved it!
But so sorry about your counter, what a drag.
Have you tried Task Rabbit or see of anyone from Lowe’s or Home Depot is willing to do it?
Well, it is dependent on the arrival of the countertop. Once that is here, I can ony then make a plumbing appointment of any kind. And I would want a plumber-my experience with Task Rabbit has been that I should have done it myself in the first place.
So far, have applied Wulong Cha and Fig Tea. Both enjoyable, both are entirely faded; time to grab something else.
You are living up to your user name 🙂
Good afternoon! I’m layering my tea like I sometimes layer fragrance: Numi aged Earl Grey and Stash Spice Dragon Red Chai. The chai is a nice rooibos.
SOTD is ELDO Cologne on wrists plus Fazzolari Five on my left shoulder and Au Dela Narcisse on my right. Living in reeksville today!
Hey, nice to see you posting!
Thanks Jalapeno! It’s nice to be back. ?
Reeksville, lol ?
Nice to see you!
Thanks! Happy belated birthday to you! ? ? ? ?
Thank you!
SotD = Luci ed Ombre
incense + white florals = delight
I woke up thinking of this perfume. I wondered why it came to my mind. Then I remembered I saw Luci ed Ombre yesterday, when I reached into the perfume cupboard for Iris Ukiyoe.
Let it Go Day — it’s a good reminder for me. It’s no use holding on to old hurts and regrets for too long. There are too many things to smile about each day. I smell something beautiful. A happy song is playing on the radio, I have eaten a healthy breakfast. So why hold grudges at the little annoyances in life? Well, because I’m human, that’s why, but I will do better. 😉
Thank you, Robin, for the bonus reading! I enjoy Mr. Bourdain’s writing.
And you wore a favorite perfume today. That’s gotta count for something.
Glad you enjoyed! I was a long time waitress when I read Kitchen Confidential, snickering with agreement throughout. I would NEVER have guessed that Bourdain would end up the widely loved figure that he was when he died.
I usually start the day on a good note, bit sometimes, what I jear from others make me want to #%@&*.
Untitled L Eau. Maybe Bourdain would approve, such a nice green with a bit of incense smoke.
I can imagine that he would approve whole-heartedly. 🙂
SmokeyToes wore Jour d’Hermes yesterday and I am wearing it today. I finished an excellent biography of Mike Nichols by Mark Harris yesterday, now on to a book about another failed Antarctic exploration that I hope will keep me cool during a “historic heat wave” as the WaPo calls it. It looks like salads and sandwiches until next week,it will be too hot to cook.
stay cool, ST! 🙂 You smell wonderful.
I just finished reading the review of that book in the NYer (I’m on the Feb issues still, sigh) and it looks wonderful! Glad to hear it is a good read.
In Aoud Bleu Intense (a copy of the exorbitantly-priced Fragrance du Bois scent) for a picture-perfect moderate temperature summer day.
And at least 5ml of my second coffee, which I managed to splash all over my face while attempting to force an oversized ice cube into my travel mug before running out the door for a meeting ?
It’s Hump Day for sure!
I hope you’re ok!
Oh yes, perfectly fine except my dignity – the easiest thing to bruise, lol!
Friday’s coming! Hang in there!
Dune for me today — love this one!
Hope to get out later today for a long walk and enjoy this weather.
In the meantime nothin’ but work.
Sorry about the work but hope you did manage the walk!
So sadly, Anthony Bourdain “succeeded” in the ultimate Let It Go.
SOTD = D’Orsay Vouloir etre Ailleurs
Like, not love, from a decant: sweet, bitter, soapy floral glue. Became a skin scent pretty quickly. I will wear more next time to see if I will like it more!

In the contrarian spirit – We are returning to the office part time. Our intranet has a bunch of articles regarding updated technology, etc. and employees can leave comments. One employee complained that her new headset only works half of the time. And to emphasize her point, she said even IT could not figure out why they only work 10% of the time. ?
Ew, a glue note does not sound appealing at all!
To be fair, it smelled better on my walk so thinking slight heat and a little wind actually helped!
Lol at the employee comment!
That was not even the most head-scratching comment.
Gallivant Bukhara – happy with my blind buy of this, something I don’t do very often.
Had to get another blood draw for my thyroid this morning, still not quite right, pounding heart and agitated sometimes, and really tired at the same time, and not sleeping. No fun. Probably still too much.
But being on call and getting waked up at 4 in the morning isn’t helping. Be glad when Friday rolls around….
I hope you start to feel better soon!
I’m glad you like your blind buy.
What a pain — hope they get you better adjusted!
Jo Malone Mimosa & Cardamom
Song of the Day: https://youtu.be/tMDFv5m18Pw
Y’all know why I picked this one. ????
On the plus side, it is a truly gorgeous early summer day for me. I’d love to have a couple weeks of this!
SOTD = Guerlain Mahora EdP, from the decant stash. Wish I’d grabbed a bottle of it when I saw it about 10 years ago at a perfume kiosk in a local mall.
My folks got Mr. Vee the Black Sabbath guitar tab book for Christmas last year. It must have been on his Amazon wish list. The image of my mom looking at that ominous picture of Ozzy on the cover and wondering “what is this nonesense?” as she wrapped it up in shiny paper makes me lol every time I think about it.
Awesome back story on that gift!
Lucky you on the weather. Silly me wished for rain, and it keeps coming back every day.
It won’t last. I think your rain is supposed to head in my direction later on this week. ☔
It was indeed beautiful. I was stuck inside until 630ish and I managed to eke out a walk!
Hi, all, I’m wearing MFK APOM for women today. It’s something I wear when I want pretty, simple, and upbeat. I have had various errands to do and some frustrations, such as the fact my surgery got postponed with no reason given for more than a month, from this Tuesday to July 27. Ugh. I’ll be pretty peeved if I have to return to my own GP to get all my bloodwork run again. I’m getting conflicting messages on that. My poor kitty Willow who has the bad bite wounds and abscesses managed to hid both yesterday morning and today to avoid the regular vet trip to have her wounds flushed out and K-lasered. I finally collected her at about 2 pm and took her to the vet where she will stay the night so that she can see the doctor first thing tomorrow morning. Take that, naughty kitty!
Since I was feeling sorry for myself, a friend suggested to do some splurges to feel nicer. I went to a fancy fish market and bought some fresh grouper for dinner (a kind of sea bass, delicious) at $25/pound! –eek–and then to the grocery store where I bought a pint of Haagen Dasz dolce e leche ice cream. (Spellcheck wants to make that leech, no thank you!). So my evening meal will be pleasant!
Is anyone else hooked on Line of Duty? British show, so if you’ve watched this season over in the UK don’t offer any spoilers here! Last night was the next to the last episode on Netflix in the US, and the suspense is killing me. I have serious anxiety about what I fear might be revealed in the final episode next Tuesday night.
Hope that your sweet kitty comes thru her procedure with flying colors.
You smell great! Glad kitty was able to get hustled to the vet for her treatment despite her best efforts otherwise. What a bummer that yours has been delayed – your treats sound amazing and well deserved!
So much yuck! Hope the nice dinner & ice cream helped, Calypso.
Sending good thoughts for Willow and sorry about your postponed surgery. Glad you were able to treat yourself!
Oy with Willow. I hope she comes through the sleepover! As to your postponed surgery, I wonder if it has to do with the blood shortage?
Oh no! I’m sorry your surgery was postponed. Maybe you need to treat yourself to some perfume next Tuesday. ?
Sotd was vanilla flash from the purse stash. If anyone ever snatches my purse, they will be sorely disappointed, lol. They will smell good, of course!
I would probably forget I had perfume in my purse if I kept it there.
LOL. I don’t think I have ever knowingly carried perfume inside my purse.
Very late to chime in but I wore Hiram Green from 2 samples on each wrist – Moon Bloom and Shangri-la. I liked S-l more than MB but I probably won’t need any more of either.
Mind you, it was very hot here again so they may need another wearing. Like a few others, the temps are to be over 100 degrees this weekend!
Mmm, time to get out my Moon Bloom for the season — it’s a favorite of mine!
SOTD is Vetiver Oriental after reading some of the Boudain/vetiver chatter yesterday. I always thought of this as a cold-weather only fragrance, but it’s working very well today in the mild heat.
