Happy Almost-Friday and happy International Dance Day! It's also Duke Ellington’s birthday, plus happy 88th to Willie Nelson! What fragrance are you wearing?
Me: still out of town, still commando.
Reminder: April showers bring May flowers...whatever the weather, wear a spring floral on 4/30.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2021, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Good Morning. Robin, starting early this morning?.. the early bird gets the worm. Hope you are enjoying your trip.
Sipping some tea this morning, this sample has some chocolate flavor to it.
Sampling Arancia Di Sicilia by Perris Monte Carlo
I would love this more if had more projection. Maybe because I am dabbing its very soft on my skin
You are right about Arancia; dabbing isn’t getting the job done. I got out my sample, after I saw your post, put some on, and it’s nose-to-arm time. Shame, because I’m craving a good dose of mandarin. Then again, it’s competing with a dab of Akro Smoke, which is not messing around.
I have found orange notes to often be soft or to become soft very quickly. There must be something about the aromachemicals being volatile. I’ve noticed the same with carnation. I’m lucky if I can smell it after 20 or 30 minutes.
it is soft, but I am enjoying it. Its last more than 30 minutes but after that I have to put my nose to my wrist.
I think maybe sprayed I could smell this one more. I do love it though, regardless. At first when I tried it I thought it was too masculine, but now I find it sweet.
Having a lovely time, thank you!
I’m just awake, but thinking of wearing Carven Le Parfum.
I ended up being in a hurry, so I grabbed my bottle of La Fille de Berlin. This is my first Serge Lutens full bottle, and I bought it unsniffed. At first I thought it was a rather simple rose fragrance, but I think I undersprayed. Today I sprayed the heck out of it, and it is much more interesting.
It is such a great scent, glad you are liking it!
Yes, early! I am still waking up, myself (I slept until 7:30 and it felt especially decadent).
M/T I went floral-adjacent (in my head, that means “green”) with Un Jardin sur le Toit and Cristalle Eau Verte. Yesterday I planned to be on topic by thunking my decant of Hiris, only to discover that it was already well and truly thunked. Instead, I went for SL Bois de Violette, a nearly thunked decant.
Today we have rain all day in the forecast. I have something this afternoon that is not fragrance-friendly, so will delay my fragrance choice until this evening.
Meanwhile, our cat is being put on a very slightly reduced food regimen so that he can lose about half a pound, and he is NOT HAPPY. Running around wailing as if alerting us to a catastrophe (to him, of course, a little less kibble is THE catastrophe).
Have a lovely Thursday, everyone!
Skalolazka, it’s so hard to hear wailing kitties. Hugs. Jill
Your cat has my sympathy!
Running around should help him shed the weight ?
?
Oh, yes. And he is very playful, anyway, and loves running. I am trying to increase his daily playtime, but sometimes I do have to work. 🙂
Poor kitty!!! My sympathies, it’s hard to hear them “suffering.” I find increasing playtime and more frequent/smaller feedings can alleviate some of their anguish (and thus your own) but still… It’s so hard to have your little furry ones giving you the big eyes and the “But… I’m HUNGRY” meows!
Yes, he is quite dramatic when he feels aggrieved. We do have a timed feeder and a puzzle feeder for him; our vet has said that our feeding regime is on target, and she is not terribly concerned about the weight gain. We just need to give him a tiny bit less.
What a wonderful selection of spring florals!
If only someone would put me on a diet too. Sadly I can open the fridge….
My big kitty has an automatic feeder that spits out premeasured foods at certain times. Maybe we can rig something to the fridge? 10am. . . pthhththth. . . 1 cup grapes and an ounce of cheese. 😀
Ha! Not a bad idea.
Sounds like my orange tabby… though he acts hard-done-by when a normal amount of food is just late!
Ours is a red tabby. Sounds like they are kindred spirits!
I adore red tabby cats, they are loaded with personality!
We had a rag doll (Rocky) who was abandoned and never recovered from going hungry. We had cat slippers as soon as we woke up in the morning!
SmokeyToes is patient for only so long and then a bite comes, much to Mr. ST’s dismay.
Good luck with the weight loss program. It was easier for ST once we switched to wet food and found a brand he liked.
Sending sympathy and strength to endure the kitty cries. I have one who needs to gain weight and one who needs to lose 1 lb. The hurt look of “why are you giving my sister extra food and not me?” breaks my heart a little each day. Especially bc the heavier one is such a gentle, sweetheart of a cat.
The red laser pointer toy helps to distract her and, like hajusuuri said, the exercise hopefully helps with weight loss.
You smell great!
My beloved cat tortured me with those cries. When she was given her very healthy diet, she protested, and not peacefully, lol.
My dog is doing the same thing. Dogs whimper for food, too! And howl. And smush their faces in your face to alert you, as if you didn’t know.
So many kitty lovers here! I have conveyed your empathy to our little fluffy guy, and he appreciates it. I think the morning is the worst, especially when we are at the breakfast table in the kitchen — right by the kibble stash — and he KNOWS that we could just lean over and give him more, if we were not such heartless humans.
One of my cats thinks that I ought to be feeding her every single time I set foot in the kitchen! And she is not shy about expressing that opinion.
Wearing Atelier Cologne Iris Rebelle.
Very busy day. Back to read comments later.
Happy almost Friday! ?
You smell good! I was going to join you in IR, but found that my sample had evaporated. Oops…
Thank you! I am working heavily on samples now. I have found that many just evaporated! ?
I am not too keen on iris, but I liked this. You smell nice
Thank you, Tannina! Iris Rebelle is a simple and very easy to wear iris scent.
Samples! Keeping them in one place has not worked out.
Good for you for making the attempt!
Happy Friday!
Lol! Keep trying!
Good morning Y’all,
Doing the soft and cozy thing with Gucci Mémoire d’une Odeur. Only problem is it’s making me a little bit sleepy…..LOL Maybe I just need a hit of caffeine?
passing you a cup of espresso..
I got a very late birthday gift last weekend, a very nice coffee grinder. So I can grind you coffee and then make an espresso.. who needs Starbucks when you have cafe Lovestosmellgood?
Thank you so much! Next time I’ll bring the scones and jam, and we’ll have breakfast too! 🙂
Mmm. Scones.
I am totally craving for almond scones now. I think I have a GF recipe that I should make over the weekend.
I’m on a 6 AM call, but have no role–so am, errrrr, multitasking! In a small spritz of Izia (Sisley)-testing. Smells like a bathing product you’d get gratis at a mid-range hotel.
I felt the same. It was nice to sample, but moved on quickly!
Ha! If it weren’t for (off-camera) team meetings, I’d never get my grocery/chores lists done!
6AM call? 😯
How uncivilized…
Agree! I’m assuming it was a time zone thing, but the scheduler should try harder. I’m on east coast time and have calls with Europe a lot, but we all try to be respectful of each other’s standard work hours and fit the calls into the windows of overlap. Sleepy people don’t make good decisions.
Exactly. But in our case, I am the outlier on the West Coast. We have Malaysia, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Brazil London, and Washington DC. it is always painful for me.
🙁
Wearing Iris Prima for a warm, sunny day.
Love Iris Prima! You smell great!
I have got to do some dancing! So good for the soul 😉
SOTD: Rose 31 body lotion; just easy… and a girl can’t too much moisture
I’ve just started doing another dance workout series, and it always lifts my mood!
That’s wonderful! I remember doing Jazzercise with my mom and it was so much fun.
Rose 31 is gorgeous stuff. I love the perfume oil and massage oil.
I’d like to try those too.
This has become my go to scent.
I cut my Rose 31 lotion with unscented Dove, and even at a 50/50 mix, the Rose 31 is so strong I can wear that alone and get great projection and longevity. The lotion ends up being a good deal that way.
I love that it’s so strong! But smart of you as that’s a hefty savings.
I also really like the lotion consistency. It’s more watery and easy to use.
I’m trying out Akro Smoke today. Luckyscent lists the notes as Balkans Tobacco Leaves, Nicotine, Cade, Benjoin, Tonka Bean. It’s a good scent, heavy on the tobacco, but less smoke than I expected. I would be happy to encounter it on someone in my vicinity. My scent-devouring skin may have just about finished it off.
It is rather Nice! Have you tried any of the other Akro scents?
I’ve just finished sampling the Galivant travel set (my favourites being Amsterdam & Bukhara). Today I’m wearing Heeley’s Iris de Nuit, one of my favourite spring florals.
You smell wonderfully irisy! Bukhara is also one of my favorites.
Sampling this morning from the EldO set my bestie gave me, and excited to have a schedule that’s finally settling down and going to let me check in on NST more regularly!
(Don’t Get Me Wrong Baby) Yes I Do: instant scrubber for me. Lily-of-the-valley + aldehydes is always too much for my nose.
Divin’Enfant: surprisingly enjoying its upscale artisanal marshmallow vibe.
Les Fleurs du Déchets: smells like apple cider that’s starting to go slightly off.
Etat Libre d’Orange is batting only 1/3 this morning.
I haven’t found any ELdO scents that I need. Artisanal marshmallow sounds fun, though! I’m sure I’ve sniffed that one, but it has left my brain.
I really like ELdO’s Vraie Blonde and Like This.
Like This is great. I also fell for Fils de Dieu – it’s unusual but good unusual to my nose.
Yes, those are two of are my favorites so far from the sample set. I also really liked Fin du Monde and Palma de Rossy Eau de Protection.
I also have a FB of Vierges et Toreros, which isn’t a popular one for the house, but it’s my unicorn, sole tuberose scent that doesn’t go bubblegummy on me.
I have a 30mL bottle of Fat Electrician. I keep thinking about getting 30mL of Fils de Dieu, and possibly Jasmin et Cigarette. However, I’ve heard rumors of reformulation on the J et C.
I actually thought the J&C sample was beautiful but I just 100% don’t have the personality to pull it off! Lasted forever on me with one spray.
Another wonderful bird pic. My sister’s scan didn’t show anything suspicious/new and she is scheduled for surgery for this Weds for the whipple procedure which will remove precancerous lesion too. Feeling hopeful and nervous. I am rereading Pema Chodron’s When Things Fall Apart…each time I read it I marvel at all her wisdom like it’s the first time or I am Bill Murray in Groundhog’s Day. 😉
Comparing some pre reformulation Kilian Love from a kind NSTer w/ the current version today and will weigh in later w/ thoughts!?
Good news on the scan! Continuing to send virtual hugs to you and your sister.
Thank you, Vee! 🙂
Best wishes for an uneventful surgery to your sister, the scan is such good news.
Thanks, Aurora!
Pema Chodran is excellent!
Let us know what you think about your SOTD
She is quite good. 🙂
The original formula projects better and has civet in the base…don’t detect civet/anything animalic in the current version. I actually prefer Love Extreme to the current version of Love methinks.
Thank you for sharing the good news about the scan results. Sending healing thoughts for the entire process.
Thanks, allo! 🙂
Yay for good scan news, and fingers crossed for your sister’s surgery. ????
Thank you, Jalapeno!
I am a huge fan of Pema. Just listening to her voice can create a sense of deep calm.
Good, glad she is getting the surgery done soon.
Still under the weather from Tuesday’s 2nd shot but still going to work. Wearing Theorema for comfort today.
Don’t you have sick days or actually, does your company give you time for taking the vaccine?
They give us the day after the vaccine but no sick days.
I started my day with a fresh new bar of soap! Lilac by Rileyville on Etsy. A brand new bar always makes me happy. Then I had toast made with croissant bread, a local bakery makes loaves of sandwich bread using croissant dough, it’s divine. AND they sell whole or HALF loaves!
Being just 2 of us I appreciate the smaller size. So toast with Irish butter and jasmine green tea. THREE slices! I’m so bad?
It look like you absolutely started the day off right!
Lilac soap and croissant toast sounds like a really perfect day.
SOTD was Le Labo Fleur d’Oranger, my favorite orange blossom for the first 30 minutes. It’s almost completely gone now; I should have packed a sample for later!
I could swear that it used to last longer than that!
It hangs on faintly for a few hours, but I really have to press my nose to my arm!
Lilac of the day is Couer D’Ete from Miller Harris. So pretty
I’m in Heeley Poudre Blanc.
Yesterday afternoon I could hear the university marching band practice. I haven’t heard it for months, and I was so happy to hear it again.
Awe… yay!
P.S.- got any sun to spare??
Yes, I’ll send some your way!? Although it did rain for about 5 minutes on my way home from work, I won’t send that!?
p.s. did you get my email?
I got one on the 27th and emailed back. I will try again here in a minute.
?sorry! I just found it! It got buried in between the bazillion junk emails I get.
Just sent you one.
I’m still not feeling super well so I decided to have a covid test done. Waiting for my results and until then I’m on quarantine. As soon as the results are available it will be either lifted or changed for home self-isolation. I’m a bit scared… For over a year I managed to well avoid the virus and getting it now that I just got a date of my first vaccine would be a vert unfortunate turn of events.
Keeping you in my prayers, Lucasai.
Hope it’s just a cold. My covid infection was not nice and quick.
Fingers cross that the test comes back negative!! And I hope you start to feel better soon.
I’m glad you’re getting tested, lucasai! I hope whatever the results, you feel better quickly!
Hoping whatever it is passes quickly.
Hopefully, whatever it turns out to be (although hopefully it is negative), your Shot #1 date won’t really matter because if you have it, you will have antibodies and you just need to reschedule it.
Best wishes for your test.
I hope you feel better soon!
Fingers crossed for you lucasai!
ugh! Hope you have a good outcome
Fingers crossed!
Adding to the fingers being crossed and warm wishes being sent 🙂
Yikes. Hopefully your test results will be negative.
Hoping for the best, lucasai!
I hope you have a negative test! I’m sending out good thoughts for you.
Do report back, we all have our fingers crossed for you!
Crossing my fingers and holding my thumbs…covering multiple cultures. 😀
Just a few small sprays of Hermes Eau d’Orange Verte for me today. I am packing my things to stay with my parents today and overnight. My Mom broke her leg on Easter Sunday morning, and then got a UTI. A really bad one. She was in the hospital for over a week. I have been dividing up my time there with my two sisters because my parents cannot be left alone, between my Mom’s health issues and my Dad, who has dementia.
The reason I put a few small sprays is that earlier this week, I wore Estee Lauder Modern Muse, and my poor Mom keep sniffling whenever I would go around her. No more heavy hitters while I am with them.
Oh no, that’s a lot to deal with. I’m very sorry about your mom’s health problems. I hope your being there will at least in part be enjoyable despite the worries.
Sorry for all that you are going through. Your family seems to work together nicely, which is a big bonus.
Those UTI’s are no joke.
? coming!
Yikes! Wishing your mom well! I’m glad you and your sisters are rotating.
Sorry about your mother’s health problem. I’m sure having you there will make a difference.
That’s a lot on your plate Barqs. Sending the best wishes to you and your family.
So sorry to hear this! I hope her health improves.
Hugs Barqs. That is a lot to be dealing with. Sending speedy healing thoughts to your mom.
I’m sorry you’re having to deal with all that, it’s a lot. Hope the road to recovery is as smooth as possible.
Wishing your mom a speedy recovery. Sending hugs!
Sending healing thoughts for your Mom.
Glad you have the 3 of you to deal with this. Good luck.
Oh, hope your mom gets better soon! That’s a lot to deal with. Sending good thoughts your way!
Ouf, poor mom! Props to you for helping to look after your parents AND being so considerate of your mom’s nose. Hoping things start to look better for them soon.
Thank you all so much for the good thoughts, hugs and well wishes. This has been rough, and I am fortunate to have my sisters.
Started the day with Azurée and topped up with Scherrer, still can’t decide which I like more.
Just tomorrow and then I have a week off. Those are the last vacation days from last year, but we can’t go anywhere sadly.
Wow, you must smell great! Scherrer 1 or 2?
The No1
Azuree is wonderful!
No flowers for me today. SOTD is SSS Fig Tree, my favorite fig scent.
Today is my first day in nearly a week with zero appointments or necessary chores. Trying to keep it that way! I do want to go out to the garage and do some lifting and take a walk later. It’s already 60 degrees and only 10am, so I’m sure it will be a warm day!
I’ve reached an age that my freckles are starting to become age spots. Trying to decide if I give in and wear a big floppy hat, even though I feel stupid in hats, or just keep trying to remember to put sun screen on. With the pandemic, I’ve completely stopped wearing make-up, and I’ve lost the limited sun protection that those products provided. I don’t miss make-up, and won’t go back to that option.
I would do both.
Wear SPF moisturizer is my advice, every day. You don’t need to wear makeup.
I bet you look cute in a hat.
Wear both sunscreen and wide brimmed hats if you can. Especially if you garden.
I have dark skin and still wear sunscreen- melanoma is no joke!
Definitely do sunscreen and a hat! If you can get some of those long sleeved, lightweight T-shirts with built in sun protection, don those as well.
I made the mistake of trying to buy products that would get rid of the two sunspots I have. Don’t bother. None of them work. I’ve tried them all for everyone. 🙂 Go with the hat.
What a gorgeous photo today, Robin. I hope your trip is going well!
I’m in Chant d’Aromes today. It’s hitting the spot on this sunny day. I feel like I’m really craving Spring scents this year, which is really unusual for me. I’m normally happy to be in my warmer/cozy/woody scents year round. Maybe it’s the pandemic!
It’s such a lovely scent, an often forgotten Guerlain, you smell great.
Thank you! I’m getting quite a No 19 vibe from it today.
You smell great! A perfume that sings – so spritzy and springy.
I definitely need to retry my sample of that soon, based on your description.
It is, thanks!
SOTD is Mugler’s Angel Sunessence Bleu Lagon. It’s Angel ‘light’ but with an aquatic note. It’s gorgeous in warm weather.
Sipping on mint green tea (Teavana), I really love this over ice with a squirt of lime. Very refreshing! Berries are in season, we enjoyed a mixture of strawberries, raspberries and blackberries over vanilla ice cream with reduced balsamic vinegar drizzled on top. Simple and delicious.
I’ll be over for dessert tonight.
Come on over! There’s plenty more! I’m not much for dessert, but a piece of good dark chocolate or a small serving of berries over ice cream is perfect. 🙂
I’m wearing Amarige Harvest Mimosa 2009 today, it’s so good in spring. I woke yesterday with a pain in my left foot that’s making it hard to walk. I haven’t changed anything in my routine so I’m not sure what has happened. I hope it gets better soon, walking is what has kept me sane during the pandemic.
Did you ever get your shed?
Yes, just a day late.
You smell lovely. I am sorry you are having pain. Try massaging your leg and foot- nerves and circulation sometimes go wonky!
That’s such a pretty scent! Ouch on the foot pain. I hope things improve…
Hopefully your foot pain isn’t plantar fasciitis. That can come out of nowhere and hurt like Hades.
Yep. I can always tell when I’m due for new work shoes- which are really running shoes- when my left heel starts to hurt.
Hope it is better tonight foxbins!
Wearing RdF Shells. It is a subtle contract to Waves from the same collection. Both a have a strong beach/sea salt center, but this one has wood (driftwood?) note and a delicate fruity&floral note, whereas Waves had an aquatic note and a fresh green/dew note.
Drinking Vadham Vanilla Chai with lots of milk. There is a scone and clotted cream left over from my parent’s visit this weekend calling my name for lunch.
You smell very cuddly and nice! I like beach scents.
Hello all! Robin, I hope your trip is going well!
1) SOTD: Am in Petals by Beauty Pie. Its gonna be in the 80s today, and it’s a lovely skin scent for the heat surge today!
2) So, am redoing the kitchen – yes, again- but for real this time. Instead of the minor fixes from a couple of years ago and new appliances I bought last year, THIS TIME, the kitchen cabinets & counters will be replaced. I will recycle the uppers and turn them into garage storage. I am of course keeping the appliances and services will remain where they are. But the new cabinets will have improved functionality- drawers! shelving! wipe clean lacquer! lighting!- and the counters will NOT be tile in which I obsess about cleaning the grout, which now looks foul.
It’s an IKEA kitchen- for the price and quality, I had to agree. Comparable from HD were 2x the price (not including labor, but preassembled) and I simply did not get any call back quotes from the kitchen shops in town when I told them my budget was $10K.
I will be doing the majority of the work myself, as per usual, Partially because I CAN do it (thanks Ma& Papa for showing me how to use both a sewing machine and shop tools) and partially because all the tradespeople and handymen are BOOKED UP. Sometimes they are triple booked!
I will start a blog so I can bore you all with the details and such and not take up time on Robin’s!
You go girl! My father taught me about shop tools at a very early age and I have been eternally grateful. Mom taught me to operate a sewing machine AND gave me her machine – it’s older than me and still works perfectly. Of course, it’s avocado green and weighs a ton, but still. ?
Those old school, heavy Singers are amazing. My mom had one that was secondhand to her and it was great! It had it’s own table and all you really needed to do was replace the rubber and oil the gears a couple of times a year.
I don’t have a complete set of tools- you can rent what you need these days – but a drill driver, manual tools and a circular saw does SO MUCH.
My mom had one of those Singers in the cabinet too! You pulled on the wooden flap on the top of the cabinet, lift the machine and then settle it. I’m torn about getting rid of it, but it doesn’t have the drop thingie that makes sleeves so much easier, and that’s kind of a deal breaker for me. ?
My mom did too! And now I have it, only mine is Husqvarna. I believe it’s from the early ‘70’s. Works like a charm, and frankly I find the manual dials easier than the new sewing machines that are like computers!
Wow, I’m so impressed! We’re in the third quarter of house restoration ourselves, after the fall/winter plumbing disaster and subsequent demolition. I couldn’t bring myself to keep any kind of journal about it, it was so demoralizing. But now that plumbing has been replaced, plaster ceilings and walls have been repaired, tile floors and baseboards have been replaced, I can see the end in sight this summer. I’m getting serious about picking paint colors. What a long, strange trip it’s been.
*hugs* Plumbing disaster? Demolition! God almighty, that’s a lot!
What I am doing, while messy and potentially exhausting, is not that major: all services will stay in place and there are no walls to remove. But I wish to show to myself and others that this sort of project *can* be done, especially if you are a singleton like myself.
Oh good for you! Do start a blog, I can’t wait to see how it turns out.
Lucky — IKEA is costing us much more than $10k for cabinets, for redoing a small galley kitchen. Sigh. Turns out I had a custom quote for less but didn’t like the designer so didn’t move ahead…should maybe have gone with that, I don’t know. It’s just not good when a designer new to you walks into your (not that small for a normal person in a city that’s one of the most expensive in the world) house and says “Oh, it is really small.” That pretty much ended it right there with her.
1) I can see an IKEA kitchen going up to 10k VERY easily- it really does depend on configurations and whether you go with their countertops, fixtures and appliances. I went with the appliances from IKEA (Electrolux and Whirlpool manufacturers with a built in 5 year warranty) last year and am now doing the cabinets & countertop this year, thus splitting the cost of the renovation.
2) From a native Brooklynite with a big mouth: people really, REALLY need to learn to keep their utterances to themselves. Most normal people work really hard to have what a designer may perceived as ‘small’ and they need to remember that!
YES for being a DIY champion! Looking forward to seeing your blog and being able to follow along.
Thank you! Gonna devote this evening to FINALLY setting up the blog and email!
The hand went straight to the bottle of Thé Pour un Été, so I’m in a jasmine tea fog. Heading outside to plant some hosta rhizomes that arrived over the weekend, and then … aaarrrrggggh … pull weeds. Where do they all come from, and why do they grow so fast??
I like how weeds grow faster than the plants you actually want! LOL
I want to be in your fog
The rain stopped last night but there will be more in a few days. Wearing Houbigant/Parquet Chantilly edt, I recently acquired a 2 fl.oz. edp to complete my collection, and Chantilly is so distinctive, on Fragrantica it is compared to Shalimar but I don’t get that, Chantilly is way more floral.
I always felt that Chantilly was much closer to Emeraude.
Ah, thank you Lillyjo, I actually have a vintage Emeraude edt, I will compare them. Chantilly is now powdery and very unlike Shalimar, I like them both equally but for different reasons.
Friday here – yay! And yet another sunny autumn day, we’ve had a fabulous April. Le Galion Sortilège for today, it’s a very reliable perfume for when I want to feel organised and focused.
A sunny Friday in autumn sounds not bad at all 🙂
Wearing Lutens’ La Vierge de Fer today. Pleasant spring floral with white lily and pear. I only smell a metallic note if I really think about it, which almost certainly means I’m trying too hard!
I’m in VC&A today. California Reverie on the left and Bois d’Iris on the right. Both are very pretty, but there’s a sweetness to both that just doesn’t work for me. I know lots of people love these, though.
Neither one worked for me either. I was bummed because I sooo wanted an excuse to get one of those nice bottles, lol.
Aren’t they classy looking? They remind me of the Serge bottles – easy to store.
I haven’t tried California Reverie but I love Bois d’Iris. And I can see what you mean about the sweetness.
If you like jasmine, you’ll like California Reverie.
I love Bois d’Iris in the fall, but it feels to sweet for warm weather to me. I don’t find CR very sweet, but I guess I’m alone there!
Too*
I love both of them, but they are quite sweet.
It’s funny, I love IA Saint Julep, and it’s very sweet. Somehow it works on my skin. It’s just unabashedly sweet, but the mint lifts it so nicely.
I have a very, very sweet tooth when it comes to perfume.
Good to know about those VC&A’s! I find that my tolerance for sweet perfumes has been decreasing lately. Some I still like, but others make me grit my teeth.
Wearing Bombay Bling, the sunniest of the Vermeires. When I first started teying the NV’s I wasn’t that emittent to be honest, of course I kept trying until I was. Still not sure whether that was a good idea. I now own five of them ?
Emittent = smitten. Teying =Trying
I so detest autocorrect ?
I didn’t even catch the teying, interesting how the brain just sees what it wants to sometimes.
You smell great! I’ve only sampled Bombay Bling but found it just enchanting.
Disgustingly humid today, with some scattered rain. Blergh. Too early for soupy air!
SOTD = Tilting At Windmills Cologne again. Getting closer to a sample thunk!
Sorry about the disgusting weather, I remember it for having lived twelve years in NYC, in the UK there is rainy weather but rarely that humidity, heavy factor.
I like the name of your perfume.
Thanks! You might be able to tell that I am not quite ready for summer weather.
It’s really humid here, too, and we’re just getting started. ?
Yuck! I miss dry desert air!
I’ll send you my dry desert air, as much as you want!
I sure wouldn’t mind a week or two of it!
I leaned out to unlock the mailbox and popped back in again. No walk!
Yeah, it was grody out there! ?
I’m not ready for the humidity yet. It makes it too hard to sleep.
That’s why I sometimes run the A/C, to drop the humidity down to tolerable levels.
Same.
Sotd is Le Parfum de Therese.
I started to pay more attention to fragrance when FM came on to the scene. I know that some people don’t like the melon opening but it works for me and I’m sure that the story behind the fragrance, that Edmond Roudnitska created it for his wife, helped seal the deal.
On a side note, the SA at Barneys accidentally included the travel case with my purchase of 3 travel refills. I don’t think Frederic would have approved…pas du tout!
Not a GWP?
Pretty sure not because it retailed for $120 back in 2000 when I bought the travel sprays.
Wearing vintage Dune again, I feel as if I just can’t smell it enough! I want to roll around like a dog with my nose in my arms. Sorry for the visual lol! Dune has broom in it, is that a spring flower? Because I might have to wear this again tomorrow.
Dune is SO good!
LOL. Broom smells like thin vanilla – I love it! I saw it in Italy in abundance in late spring.
Broom smells like immortelle/maple syrup for me with a little extra spicy something.
SOTD = Les Infusions de Paradis Oeillet
Woohoo! Powdery spicy carnation. So good!

In my tax return saga, I have to get motivated to get it done. I am not all done yet with the computer setup (no customization), just installing software and also making a final decision if I should keep or return the Magic Mouse 2. I may end up filing for an extension.
Holy mackerel with the auto correct! You all know I meant Prada, right?
Wow, that was a fancy autocorrect!
Lol, I didn’t even notice. My eye’s read Prada.
Is tomorrow the deadline? Good luck!
I think May 17 is the deadline for federal and most state taxes. We haven’t filed yet. ?
I love that one! You smell awesome!!!
Sotd is And the World is Yours. I’m not sure what I will wear tomorrow. I’ve just been going on feeling this week.
By feeling and with feeling! I have a decant of this one but don’t recall wearing it. I bet you smell great!
Yeah, I really like it. Coumarin, and others have compared it to Alien, I don’t get it though.
Going by feel is a pretty good way to end up happy with your SOTD.
Very late today. I wore Chanel Paris-Riviera, about 10 sprays worth.
Had a quick chat with my neighbor, she and her hubby are getting vaxed next week. My coworker friend got hers today. It’s a good feeling that it’s actually happening to people that I know!
It’s a hopeful sign, isn’t it?
Late to join today. Gabrielle Essence. Love it.
Had to head down to the big city today (Green Bay ??) because an airbag light came on in our new car. Lo and behold, they need to order a new part, so we have a loaner Outback for a week. (I think the car and our range hood are in cahoots.)
