Happy Almost-Friday! It’s also Data Privacy Day, International Lego Day and Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette’s birthday. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm in Thierry Mugler Cologne (vintage version).
Reminder: on 1/29, wear a fragrance by (Thierry) Mugler, if you have one.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2021, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: the Thierry Mugler Centipede glasses are from 1997.
I love those glasses! Wish I had a fabulous enough life to wear them.
In the “oddest thing that’s happened to me in a while” department, today I am not teaching because we have a snow day. Why is this odd? 1) All students in our district are virtually learning. 2) It snowed 1 inch. Ah, life in North Carolina is a lot different than winter in Alberta or Minnesota. I’m not complaining though – I painted my nails, and am enjoying jasmine tea while listening to NPR.
My SOTD is Resonance by Provision Scents, layered over their Manifest body oil.
Mr L grew up in New Brunswick Canada has lots of comments when schools close for snow in NYC…you can imagine what these comments are.
I live in Moncton, New Brunswick, and I feel so bad for the people who emigrate here, often from French-speaking African countries — they can’t possibly have any idea what they’re in for. In 2015 we had I think eleven feet of snow over the winter: there was nowhere to put it so downtown they just kept ploughing through the sidewalks and streets until there were walls of snow well over my head, like being in a maze.
I cannot even imagine that much snow.
I have such compassion for all the Somali and Thai or Cambodian refugees we had in the Twin Cities. Welcome to the US! It’s gonna be -20 degrees F!
That winter was insane! We live in Boston and had close to that much snow – our four-car driveway was down to one spot towards the end of winter. We have about three inches now, and it’s been spitting snow all morning, but it’s a minor detail.
Sistine, that is hysterical — a virtual snow day! Enjoy the rest of your day off.
It is hysterical!
Lol! Enjoy your day off! ☃️
We received an email from our principal that there would be no snow days this year for exactly the reason you mention! I think the reasoning is while it will be a hardship for teachers who rely upon the technology and bandwidth in their buildings, kids are all stuck at home anyway.
Western Oregon ALWAYS shuts down with an inch of snow! To be fair, there’s like one snow plow for all of the Portland Metro area. Life comes to a standstill when we get accumulation.
A virtual snow day! What a treat!
In all fairness though, if you don’t have snow tires, snow IS a very different proposition.
In my Canadian province, cars are mandated to have them between December and mid-March!
Wow. Interesting. Do people get fined or ticketed if they don’t?
No idea, really! I imagine it mostly comes up as an issue if you’re involved in an accident.
I had a car for one brief half-year of living here, but parking restrictions during the non-winter season are labyrinthine, and I decided it just wasn’t worth it versus using public transit.
When I lived in DC it was the same way. One little snowflake and the municipal services when into a full on panic. Now that I am back in northern California, I personally have a tizzy if the temp drops below 50–so I guess I’m now the snowflake!
To be fair (speaking as someone who grew up in the DC area), snow in DC nearly always starts as freezing rain. So there’s a layer of ice under the snow.
When I went to college in St Louis, I recall heading off to classes on the first day of snow with my two roommates from Denver. I put on hiking boots, they put on cowboy boots. I thought that was an odd choice, but hey, Denver, they know snow, right? Both of them went splat on their butts immediately, not being familiar with the ice-under-snow thing. I didn’t know it was possible NOT to have ice under the snow.
Yup. I grew up in Baltimore. Black ice was a constant worry, along with the ice-under-snow biz.
When I lived in DC they had not insulated the Metro tracks, which ran above as well underground. I guess they thought that DC had a “Southern Culture” and so did not need to protect against the snow which came at least every two years?
So, upon the first flurries, the first thing they would do is cancel or limit the Metro. The second thing they would do is let out the Federal Workers, ALL AT ONCE. So guess what the tens of thousands of federal workers would do- run for the Metro lines, or get into their cars, causing massive traffic and public transit jams.
Then they would demand no cars park on the street, but most houses did not have driveways, so there was nowhere else to park.
A strange snow day indeed! 🙂
Enjoy your virtual snow day! Jasmine tea + NPR + groomed nails = very relaxing day.
That is so funny. Of course we Canadians know about real snow. 🙂
But not if you’re in Vancouver ?
True! But as a kid in Saskatchewan and lately in Quebec, I’ve seen plenty of snow. 🙂
Yup!! And we got snow again overnight and today!
OMG truth ? Lived there 7 years and it was panic at the disco every major snowstorm!
Yay for a virtual snow day anyway! It sounded like a much needed break.
Buongiorno
I do not have any Thierry Mugler perfumes so days of Annick Goutal.
Feeling beautiful in Heure Exquise on this cold day..
This is such a gorgeous perfume.
Tea is MF French breakfast, several pots. Enjoying my mimosa flowers.
I need to develop a relationship with a local florist — bet your flowers are lovely.
I know, right? No one calls ME when the first spray of mimosas shows up for the season.
Ha! Me neither. I have never smelled mimosa flowers. Now I really want to
Ah, then you should come to the Bay Area! They’re common out here. They were a pleasant scent every spring on much of the four-mile campus loop around Stanford that I used to run. I’ve been known to cut a few branches to scent my humble grad apartment. Honestly, maybe I should do it again this year–the campus is probably pretty empty.
Your flowers sound absolutely amazing! I just read about them.
Twins in Heure Exquise!
In TM Angel Muse today. I am not a big fan of Angel and its flankers, but it is always nice to revisit a scent I barely reach for. I will eventually rehome this one, but for now it is keeping me awake.
On my second cup of coffee and ready to take a walk outside before my next meeting.
Happy almost Friday, everyone! ?
Muse! You smell beautiful.
That’s the scent I’ve been trying to remember this morning. I know I have some, it’s probably under a pile of perfume around here somewhere. 😉
Thank you, Tiffanie! ?
I hope you find your Muse. Sometimes, I feel I am going to get drowned in the so many bottles of perfumes I also have! ?
Mugler, Day 4: A*Men Pure Coffee, which takes the coffee note from the original and dials it up to 11. It’s so good.
It is! I wore that yesterday, can still sniff the dregs of it on my wrist today.
You smell great!
I have made a half hearted effort of find my sample. May try again later today.
Coromandel for me today.
Missed this one!
Haven’t been out of the apt for 2 straight days due to very busy work & life stuff. Today I’m getting out! Also looking forward to my afternoon coffee at Blue Bottle, yum!
You smell marvelous! Enjoy getting out and having a coffee.
You smell great
Been doing my own CP this week. It’s the Great Kindness Challenge week at my school, and each day has a spirit day coordinated with one of the colors of the rainbow. Today is Blue, so I’m being literal, wearing L’Heure Bleue along with my blue cashmere sweater.
Anyway, if we haven’t done a “rainbow” community project theme, might be fun sometime.
That IS a nice idea!
Thanks!
I’ve been pretty literal in my interpretations of the colors most of the week. I can’t recall what I wore for Monday (red) but Tuesday was yellow, and I wore Zeta (a linden scent, and linden blossoms are creamy yellow). Wednesday was green, and I started in Fig Tree but ended up in L’eau d’hiver, which I think of as white. Today, blue in L’heure bleue. Fun and stress-free pairings! 🙂
Rainbow is one of my favorite colors. 😀 Colors are associatedwith many perfumes for me, sometimes it’s a scent-color connection, sometimes it’s because of the packaging.
My school is observing kindness week too. Today is dress up like a superhero day. I’m wearing my Wonder Woman shirt and cape, it’s all I’ve got. Some kids dressed as doctors, nurses, and emergency responders. Made me smile.
I agree, Tiffanie! I have found it very easy to match fragrances with the colors of the week.
I LOVE your costume! Super Woman is great. 🙂
So cool the kids are showing their appreciation, too.
I love that!
I think that’s my favorite spirit week idea ever!
Wore Tobacco Vanille this morning and now in no 5 edp. Tired of all the on and off snow and wish spring would hurry up and come.
TV then No. 5 sounds heavenly. Must try this someday, perhaps on Saturday morning and afternoon. 🙂
I honestly did not realize those were glasses until I read the description.
No perfume, but I’ve brought my little IKEA/Ben Gorham Tobacco & Honey candle into the study with me. We burned it for ~30 min or so yesterday, and it’s been scenting up a storm ever since! Anyway, when I do put on perfume, it’ll be something that plays nice with this candle.
I mentioned on here recently that, to my horror, I didn’t have a travel spray of Iris Ukiyoe (I loooove the Hermessence travel sprays, and have nearly all of the ones that came out through 2017ish). Then, yesterday, someone said that Osmanthe Yunnan was no longer available in travel spray, so I pootled over to the Hermes site this morning and discovered that…they aren’t doing IU in travel spray format anymore either!!!!!!!! I’m hoping this is merely temporary. I will be so sad if I have missed my chance to get a IU travel spray. My beautiful row of other Hermessence travel sprays will be sad, too.
They take items off the website completely when they are out of stock, and then they reappear when they are available. That happened to me with Cuir d’Ange. Nearly gave me a heart attack.
Exactly. Chances are it will be back. Not always quickly though.
Oh phew, what a relief! Thanks!
I ALSO didn’t realise until I read the description! I thought it was some kind of antimatter/latex infinity sign. Fabulous!
I thought it was a bustier/ bra type thing!
Lol. Yes! It totally looks like that. Like something cat woman would have worn.
Something else Mugler really might have designed!
Me too Lillyjo! No way would I wear ‘centipede’ anything.
That was my thought – some type of futuristic torture-device bra.
That’s what I thought too!
Koyel, you are really making me want those candles sooo bad.?I have tried to add them to my cart online and can’t get them to ship either. Sadly, my ikea is 76 miles away.
Aww I’m sorry mtg 🙁 I do hope you get to try them eventually!
I love Iris Ukiyoe. Fear not, those travel bottles are never in stock all at once. One time I think they only had six of the twelve (twelve? Too lazy to count) listed.
I thought the picture was a coffee table. ?
That’s such a relief; I have never tracked the website closely enough to notice it, and the ones I wanted to buy have always been around in the past. Thanks!
Oh, the urge to check, and therefore probably end up buying something…
I love Iris Ukiyoe. 🙂
Shop France on ebay might have it!
Fils de Dieu as a pick me up scent. My colleague lost his sense of smell and taste today. I feels a bit sluggish, but managed to cut out two pinafore dresses and managed a bit of sewing.
Glad you still have some energy – and wishing you a VERY mild case!
I was just catching up on yesterday’s comments this morning and want to wish you well. I hope your symptoms stay mild. You do smell great today and did yesterday too!
Hoping for a mild case. My son, a bartender, contracted the virus from one of his co-workers. He had a mild case but is still tired after two weeks.
Big hugs to you, tannina. I missed your comment yesterday too. Also hoping for mild symptoms. Please rest and take good care of yourself.
Hope your symptoms stay mild!
Sewing is excellent therapy. 🙂 I hope you are able to rest in both body and mind.
Hoping for the best for you! My daughter lost her senses of smell and taste in the fall when she had COVID but regained them in just a few weeks. I wish you a rapid recovery.
Fingers still crossed for you tannina.
I hope you will do ok and it’s so scary to read about people who lose their senses of taste and smell. Hope your colleague gets better soon too.
I hope symptoms wont get worse.
?
I hope your do not have bad symptoms and recover quickly!!!! You smell gorgeous.
I missed this news yesterday and send best wishes for mild symptoms.
Today I am testing Ellis Brooklyn Fawn. It’s lovely, but I can’t truly appreciate it because it reminds me so much of another fragrance and I can’t put my finger on it!
What is it like? The name makes me think it would be a delicate fragrance.
I’m getting coconut milk with a salty accord. I have a couple of other coconut and/or salty fragrances but none of them smell like this one.
Ahhh. Vintage Thierry Mugler Cologne is one of my all time favorites. I’ve been contemplating ordering a bottle of Come Together since the original seems to be disappearing. I’m afraid there will be differences between Come Together and the original that I, of course, won’t like.
Michael, It is one of mine too. I am very glad I have enough to last me.
Santa Eulalia Albis from the sample stash. Someone on fragrantica compared this to fancy face powder and I would have to agree. Lucky for me, I like fancy face powder.
Today is the last day that my older daughter and I both have off work before she heads back to school next Monday. I’m taking her to get a much needed haircut and then I think we’ll hit Sephora or Ulta, or maybe both, lol. I’ve loved having her home for these past few weeks. It’s the best Christmas and birthday present all rolled into one she could have given me.☺️
Awww, I’m glad you had this extended time with her, too. Enjoy your shopping day! ?
yay! for mother-daughter outings. 😀 Enjoy!
Aww! Enjoy your time
Have a fabulous day with your sweet girl.
I’m wearing Alien Essence Absolue thanks to a swap with lillyjo. Very nice stuff and perfect to combat the cold, rainy morning we’re having.
We are having a nice sunny day (cold, but I’m not going out so I don’t care) for once, so you have my sympathies.
Alien Fusion for me today. I have the original Alien (although it’s not a favorite). The ginger and cinnamon in this version make it interesting but I sheepishly admit to buying this one mostly for the red bottle.
A red bottle of perfume is a thing of beauty forever. 😉
I bought Aura for the green bottle.
I bought Flora Futura for the pink one…
I want Angel Eau Croisière for the bottle, among others.
I bought Fruity Fair for the blue bottle.
That red Alien bottle is rather cute…
Haven’t really been following the CP, Mugler-free household. I don’t have the energy or time to look at the local TJ Maxx to look for anything. Enjoying all the comments. SoTD is Fate.
There is never any need to follow the CP, of course, much less do it all week!
Wearing Gallagher Wicked Good and burning a B&BW Sugared Snickerdoodle candle.
Will indulge in a quick read of comments then must get a project done today for work. Feeling stressed but will take deep breaths and sniffs.??♥️
Understand the stress. I have a list of things today also! Time to git ‘em done!
Wicked Good! That name makes me smile every time. 🙂
And it really is wicked good ?
Wishing you a productive day and the chance to relax later!
In Boston ‘wicked good’ is a superlative. 🙂
SOTD is Alien!
Excitement of the day is attending the (virtual) Sundance Film Festival, something that under normal circumstances I would be priced out of/elbowed out of access to the exciting stuff by industry folks. Gonna try to see everything scary!
You smell wonderful! I can. Not. Deal. with scary movies! But I hope you see something fun!
I have a horror movie and a documentary for day one so I’m keeping my diet balanced 🙂
What fun!!! Do tell us later what we need to see when it’s generally available.
Of course!
SOTD is Mugler Naughty Fruity, one of the Les Exceptions line. Boozy sugar plums. I wish the Les Exceptions were easier to find samples of! Wonder why Mugler makes it so hard to try these. It’s almost impossible to avoid samples of the Alien/Angel variants (no matter how many I give away THEY KEEP COMING).
It rained buckets again overnight; we have had 6.5″ of rain since the beginning of the week. No mudslides yet though, fingers crossed for all the folks in the burn zones. Most of them were ordered to evacuate days ago.
Wow, that’s so much rain! I hope everyone can stay safe.
Naught Fruity is a perfume name that just makes me smile.
Happy Birthday, Colette! Wearing some Muscs Koublai Khan (from an original-release bottle) in her honor…and am trying to get my hands on a bouquet of mimosa (they sometimes appear in florist shops here this time of year).
I love MKK — I like cumin as a note in general, and MKK is just warm and cozy on me. Maybe I’ll go put some on (mine is a split, not sure of the age).
I figured you would be celebrating her birthday!
I wonder if I can get mimosa here. Lovestosmellgood got a bunch yesterday.
I love Colette! Guess I’ll wear the HdP scent on her honor today! 1873!
Copying ltsg, in Heure Exquise. Getting a whiff of hair spray initially, so I guess I should start using this up! ?
Gorgeous, brisk weather here, the Wild One will get more that one walk today. That will suit her just fine.
I’m participating in a Zoom cook-along this evening, and I’m kind of excited about it. We’re making fettuccine with tomato sauce, mushrooms and zucchini. ?
Oh no! I assumed HE and Songes edp would not be as liable to spoil as the more delicate Goutals. How old is your bottle?
I just ran the batch number on check cosmetics, and got an error message, so I don’t know. ? I think I purchased it on ebay. It’s been lovely up until today’s wearing.
Don’t despair! It could be that a little got caught in the atomiser and the rest is fine?
I sprayed about 8 sprays on a paper towel, and I think it helped. I need to go through my AGs and see how they’re doing. Thanks for the reminder! ?
I’ve had such bad luck with Goutals going bad on me, so yes, use yours up soon!
I’ve kept a couple old bottles for sentimental reasons, fully not expecting them to still smell good. I think Grand Amour might still be ok, but any of the citrus ones are definitely short-lived.
Just stick them in the fridge and they will be fine.
Hey twin, we smell so good.
Sorry about your hairspray opening
Enjoying Chyprissime for CP points. I usually wait until Fridays for the CP but this has been a good way to make me try the sample hoard. Like yesterday’s Oriental Express, I seem already to have some FB’s that hit the spot Chyprissime does, but I bet Mugler fans like this one. I’m thinking it’s like Azuree and some other more masculine, non-piney green scents. Just took a nice walk in our cold but clear blue sky day. It was a real mood-lifter; and the cold was forgotten after the first 10 minutes of brisk walking. Off to read everyone’s comments….Happy Thursday!
I don’t know why, but I can’t seem to make myself walk in the cold this year. Perhaps I am getting *too* used to semi-quarantine.
SOTD is Thierry Mugler’s Supra Floral, one of Les Exceptions. The good news: I like it much, much better than the Angel Muse I thought I would wear for this week’s CP. The bad news: I REALLY like it, and it’s hard to come by! It’s hard to be a perfumista, lol.
Yeah, that is a good one.
It’s out of stock on the website and Nordstrom only has two at the moment and Supra Floral is not one of them.
SotD = L’air du Temps EdT
Hi friends! I visited with my mom for the first time in weeks yesterday. It was so good to see her, and of course she smelled faintly of vintage LdT, which she doesn’t like to wear on skin anymore, she only uses essential oils these days. But she does sometimes spray the perfume into the air when she is at her dressing table in the morning doing her hair and makeup.
Mom needed some help with some banking paperwork and related online shenanigans. Technology gives her the heebie-jeebies, so she asked me to walk her through it so she wouldn’t have to go to the bank in person. I sat at a card table in her two-car garage with the big door open for fresh air, while she stood (more than) six feet away trying to see what I was doing on her tablet computer. Both of us were double masked so we had to raise our voices at one another, something we are not in the habit of doing. We are a softspoken tribe. It felt weird, almost laughable, and definitely memorable.
And last night I woke up from a bizarre dream in which I was watching (or was I perhaps inside?) the video of Thomas Dolby’s She Blinded Me with Science. But it was not quite right. Thomas had been replaced by another gentleman in spectacles and carefully combed light grey hair. I ate breakfast, had some tea and dark chocolate, then woke up enough to realize it was Dr. Fauci in my dream.
Truly hope everyone who is feeling under the weather can rest, and recuperate, and feel in your heart that better days are on the way. Hugs to everyone.
Yay for you and your mom
😀 thank you, ltsg!
I’m glad to hear you got to see your mom! Hugs back to you.
hugs to you, sistine 🙂
What a nice comment to read. My mother’s signature is LdT. And the Dr Fauci dream is hilarious.
LdT is the perfect “mom perfume” 😀
it was such a weird dream!
Did you finish what she needed to do? My dad was always the money person and after he passed, it was easier, among other things, for me to help her and transact on her behalf.
yes, we did finish what Mom needed online. You’re right, it is easier to help her than to stress her out.
Hurray for being able to see your mom, and help her out. ? Your dream sounds like something that would come up on YouTube!
oh, goodness, yes! someone needs to make that Dolby-Fauci video happen. 🙂
Angel, again. And again, I am thinking that my sample has just lost its oomph. So I will now, inspired by Kevin’s comment, top it with a spritz of Muscs Koublai Khan (possibly misspelled).
Robin, does the scent of the day indicate that you are feeling better? I hope so!
I am better, but still low energy. Hoping I will be totally back to normal tomorrow. Thanks for asking!
SOTD for a very rainy day is Alaïa.
We are renewing our lease for our apartment today. Rent is down 15% from last year, I am so pleased! I’d like to think it’s more money for perfumes, but we’re saving to buy a place. It’s quite an unrewarding endeavor though, since home prices in the Bay Area remain extremely high.
Robin, glad you’re feeling up for a fragrance today!
How is Alaia? I tried it on in the department stores a couple years ago because of Turin’s enthusiastic review but don’t remember….
Alaia is a tough one to pin down. I bought it discounted online and have no regrets, but I wouldn’t say I love it. On my skin, it’s rosey-y, leathery, and very musky. And very airy, but I can’t figure out if it’s a cold air or warm air! The leather note is nice, and I’m usually very finicky about leather. Ooh, and the bottle is terrific! I don’t usually care too much about bottles but this one is beautiful in person.
Thanks! The airy note might not be my thing….good to know! I agree re. the bottle, I remember it looked pretty.
Alaia is one perfume that smells much better to me in hot weather. Not sure why, but it seems to bloom and become its best self then.
Thank you!
In Olfactive Studio Leather Shot today. Cumin and a coffee-like note make it a no-go for me. I’ll pass.
Sounds like I can save this until last. Could it be a Shot version of Puredistance M, which I really like and am contemplating a 17.5mL bottle purchase.
Not at all! I love M from Puredistance
Cumin and coffee together sounds like a not very good combo
Like cigarette butts, ashes and coffee – ?
Rogue Chypre Siam for a rough school day. A student who tested positive last week returned to school today and sat in my first class until admin realized he was still supposed to be in quarantine. My classes were relocated and classroom fogged. I need a nap, but at least I smell good.
What is up with people being so darned inconsiderate/irresponsible!? Glad the scent is being some consolation.
Oh my goodness! Where are the parents? Reminds me of my ex-friend whom I heard had a student whose father tested positive and whose mom just started showing symptoms and brought the child in to school. The family apparently lived in a crowded situation where it’s virtually impossible to isolate.
Where are the parents was my thought exactly
Oh irisjasmine, I’m so sorry to hear you had to deal with that! It’s always such a wrench when you have to relocate. Were you able to continue teaching or did you have to leave?
I taught from the auditorium. In the moment, I just went with it, but I will admit that I was rattled, and I’m not sure why. I wasn’t really afraid—I guess it’s all just so surreal.
Wearing Angel Innocent so much easier than Angel proper I find.
IMHO *all* the flankers were easier to wear!
Ah, so true.
Such a good one. I’m still tempted to blind buy the current version if I ever see it cheap enough.
My bottle is not vintage and it is really good (I got a BUB not long ago which I probably didn’t need, oh well), hope you will find a a great sale price.
Interesting news item.

Great article, thanks! Will post a blurb tomorrow for anyone who missed it.
Oh, Colette, one of my lifelong literary heroes! I’m wearing Jicky in her honour…
Perfect choice.
Wearing a big cloud of Mademoiselle Guerlain today, trying to calm my tension. Things are not any worse than usual, so I don’t know why I’ve had tension headaches so frequently. I guess there is a lot of stuff running in the background.
In the last few years nearly every time I have got a headache I look up ‘yogawithadriene upper back and shoulders’ on youtube. It has dispelled it almost every time! Of course this is because mine are coming from tension in those areas but I really never knew that before. Hope yours departs soon!
Thanks, I’ll try it!
My friend also complain of tension headaches
fingers crossed they will go soon! So hard to figure out headaches.
There is so much background tension right now. I hope you feel better soon.
Thank you. I’m sure a lot of it has to with our upcoming move in April and all the logistical and financial issues associated with it. As the date inches closer the panic is rising.
I can so relate to this. Hang in there it will pass!
Thanks! I just booked our Airbnb for the first 3 weeks, there is nothing more I can do now but wait.
I’m already crossing my fingers for you that it all goes smoothly. I think it will! You and I are alike in that we advance worry, so I get the tension.
Yep, worry wart. I am not good with uncertainty and imagine every way things could go wrong. Thank you for your kind thoughts.
I hope you can do something to ease your headache a bit. An upcoming move would definitely bring it on for me, moving is such a stressful thing!
So far it’s been aspirin with codeine, but I was hoping it would kindly depart on its own. Looks like more meditation and yoga is in order.
Hope that you were able to ease some of those tension aches and pains.
It’s Bombay Bling today, a guaranteed mood-lifter, although my mood was pretty good before. I just finished reading A Royal Affair, the second book in the Bainbridge and Sparks series. These books are excellent. Set in post-WWII London, two ladies start a marriage bureau. The writing is crisp and the jokes are smart and funny. If Jacqueline Winspear is a little too sober for you, these are a great alternative.
Do you need to read the first book first?
Not necessarily, though the first one tells how the two meet and start the business.
Then I will read the first one first. Thanks for the recommendation!
SOTD = Mugler Les Exceptions Cuir Impertinent
Semi-sweet lightly minty spicy tobacco amber leather ?.
https://www.instagram.com/p/CKmbf2LBBK3/?igshid=1leto8zxespsa
I have a first world situation ?. Did I mention that I very recently got a check for $15 and change from the State of New York? It is supposed to be interest on a tax refund that now I am not sure if I ever got, considering that I am quite positive I did not have direct deposit instructions. I suppose it is better than payment penalty overage refund ??♀️. I need to dig back and check!
Wah! Taxes. I need to start looking into doing ours soon. Hope you can figure it out.
Mystery solved – I found the ACH credit 2 weeks after I filed which means bow I don’t understand why I’m owed the $15; I won’t complain though as it is not worth the time (mine and theirs).
Omg, taxes, the bane of my existence. Doing them often makes me long for death.
I can imagine yours must be really complex given your residency arrangements!
You smell swoonworthy ?
I made an appointment today for my taxes. I can’t get in until March.
Are you using the same company / person?
I have to buy a new computer to do my own. I should purchase it for pick up one Monday in February.
Nice little surprise for you, with that check! Maybe it’s a reward for good karma?
Jovoy Boisee – it’s supposed to be related to Feminite du Bois, and I mostly put it on because I still had remnants of Olympic Orchid’s Woodcut on last night and figured I better stay with woody scents. Not quite hitting the spot for me, though.
To tomorrow then!
Snow days – my best snow day ever was the first day of registration for college at the University of Wyoming, 1971 – there was a freak snowstorm, drifts up to the second story windows on some dorms, and my room mate was a sweet girl from Hawaii who had come to Wyoming with 4 mumus, a sweater and two pair of flip flops. The roads were closed, the school was closed, registration was postponed for several days until the students could actually get to town. It was great. 🙂
Oh your poor roommate, talk about culture shock!
I’ve had an irritating day. Lot’s of phone calls and a bad customer experience. I’m officially not recommending Menards.
I’m wearing Alien Cuir. I don’t get any leather, but a very smooth soft Alien.
Last night I organised my daughter’s perfume collection. It consists mainly of celebrity perfume, and some fun one’s of mine. It looks really nice. I’m going to tackle mine tonight.
Aww that’s sweet about organizing your daughters collection. Mine is only 3 and I’m tempted to get her the Mustela or L’occitane baby ones to start her own collection
She really likes her collection. I asked her if there was any she wanted to get rid of, and she said no. She’s mostly into beauty products and the perfume fits right in.
I’ve never even heard of Menards and just looked them up. Thanks for the feedback!
It’s said that if a customer has a good experience, they will tell one person. If it’s bad they tell ten. They are lucky I’m not a social media person. I will be sending an email to corporate once I figure out how to compose my thoughts. I tried calling and was told they don’t communicate by phone, which just angered me more.
Truth! Sometimes a phone call is much easier. However I’ve been known to spend extra time on an email to properly get my point across. My co-worker calls them a ‘stinger’!
They must have ticked you off royally!
It never ceases to amaze me how many businesses claim to be all about customer service, but fail to actually follow thru on it.
No perfume today. I have been packing and cleaning since morning in preparation for the drive back up north.
I’m so sad to leave Texas. I love it here — the food, the weather, but most of all the friends we podded with. Those three things made pandemic living so much easier!
It seems like your stay there went by fast. Have a safe drive back!
Have a safe drive back! Did you arrange for podding beforehand or got along with the pod-set after first meeting them in Texas?
It was with my best friend from college — she is the reason I chose TX in the first place!
Safe travels!
Those glasses are the epitome of Cyberpunk style! Thierry Mugler should have been consulted for the first edition rulebook for the tabletop RPG.
Another cold and windy day here, plus a couple rounds of cleaning up cat barf. Sigh.
SOTD = Mugler Les Exceptions Oriental Express EdP, from the sample stash and Hajusuuri. It’s a better fit for the weather than yesterday’s Supra Floral was, yet I think I like the Supra Floral more.
I love Oriental Express!
It is a great scent for cold weather.
You’re wearing my tomorrow today! You smell good!
? Thanks!
Those cats owe you a bottle of perfume (at least) for being so attentive!
I wish that they got the memo! I will settle for a day where they are well-behaved.
You smell great jalapeno!
Sounds like your kitty is having a rough week.
Both cats did the dirty deed today. Every vet we have had says that cats throw up more than either humans or dogs.
Chanel Misia which I am rather enjoying. It’s not as much fun as Drole de Rose or as warm and enveloping as YSL Paris, but it is very pretty.
Interesting, Paris always felt cool and crisp to me. Now I want to smell it again.
The first time I smelled YSL Paris, it shocked me a little bit. I wasn’t expecting it to be as BIG as it was!
It is massive!
In Diptyque Eau Lente and had forgotten how much I enjoy it.
Have not smelled that in ages!
Ended up wearing Yves Rocher Vanille Bourbon. It’s not complex but got me through a snowy day.
Sometimes, whatever perfume works is the right one!
