It's Monday, and in the UK, Heritage Treasures Day. Birthdays include Alice Paul and Clarence Clemons. What fragrance are you wearing?
For some beauty and cheer on a grey Monday morning, I went with Neela Vermeire Créations Pichola.
Reminder: on 1/15, wear a fragrance to match Ultimate Gray and/or Illuminating, Pantone's colors of the year for 2021.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2021, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: the You Are Not Alone mural in Bushwick, by Jason Naylor, found via Pantone at Facebook, is part of the You Are Not Alone Murals project. Read more in All About The “You Are Not Alone” Murals Popping Up Around NYC.
I’m working on those samples with Dark Horse. Thunk!
Hurrah on the thunk!
I need to do more thunking as well. My sample collection is not shrinking. ?
My sample collection is getting so big it’s growing its own samples.
?
Ha! Same here. They’re like tribbles.
My perfume related New Year’s Resolution was to use up my samples!
Yay for a sample thunk!
SotD is Opium
A few drops of the vintage perfume, and two sprays of a newer version edp.
Last week i experienced one of those “ifyoudontlikeit, itwillbeextrahardtogetridof”events.
I tried Aqua Universalis on friday morning ( a very fancy mini came with one of my orders).
Its not bad, but totally not my cup of tea. So i scrubbed it off. 36 hours and a shower later i could still detect it ? geesz
At least you get longevity for your money ?
Oh, you smell fantastic! I adore Opium. Amazing how ‘oily’ and thick the vintage Opium perfume is.
Why is it the *scrubber* perfumes seem to have nuclear strength??
Thank you!
Yes the vintage perfume is so smooth and that drydown is something the new edp cannot replicate.
Scrubbers having nuclear strength is the Unwritten rule of perfumista life ?
“When a perfume is not to your liking, it will last at least two earth rotations til it slowly disappears” ?
There…it wrote it down ?
Love it!
This is true.
Soooo true!
Too funny, and too true.
Good morning Y’all,
I’ve been rediscovering some older Scentbird samples the past few days, and found a long forgotten Chloe Love Story sample. Going with that today, and enjoying a fresh neroli vibe this morning!
You smell great! I have one month left of my fragrance.net subscription…decisions decisions
I’m now doing Scentbird, Royalty Scents, and FragranceNet! Ridiculous amount of fragrance, but it’s my favorite way to try scents at a good value. I have a lot…..A LOT…..of decants to get thru! 🙂
I haven’t heard of Royalty Scents, I’ll check it out – I did use the Canadian site you recommended and they were great, just had to keep remembering the difference between Canadian & US dollars.
I’ve been eyeballing the one from FrangranceNet. Has everyone who’s tried it had good experiences? No leaking, etc?
Have you considered Scented, the sampling subscription from Indigo? It’s very reasonably priced, you get 3 atomizer samples and get a chance to guess the mystery fragrance for a chance to win a FB of that fragrance. The feature of the month is 20% off. Ask me how I know ?
Luckyscent did a “mystery fragrance” game way back when with Chandler Burr, I seem to recall. It was fun.
What is the feature of the month? 🙂
Morning everyone! My SOTD is Absolu by Rochas (from a decant) – I am normally not a huge fan of orange blossom, and especially Lily (it can be throat-clenching). The Benzoin, Balsam, Labdanum dry down, is so delicious and powdery.
Having fun planning meals around what’s in our cupboards to avoid moving heavy canned goods. I’m thinking it’s Eggs in Purgatory for supper tonight. I found this recipe for Shashuka, which also looks delicious. 😀
https://www.bobsredmill.com/recipes/how-to-make/shakshuka [ed note: shortened link]
Both your sotd and that dish sound great!
I dont think i ever knowingly smelt a Rochas, but I think my mother had a small bottle on her vanity in the 80s, the blue one (must have been Byzance)
Oh, thank you! I am a fan of eggs (all forms, poached, fried, egg salad).
I wore the Byzance perfume, and that blue bottle is soooo pretty! Helps that cobalt blue is a favorite color of mine. Tama wore one of the Rochas perfumes, it smelled so gorgeous and velvety on her. I think it was Femme?
Here’s my cheese grits with an egg and hot sauce.
No cholesterol here! Nope… 😀

Thanks, i started following you on Instagram.
The Hansel and Gretel pic had me LOL ???
I copied you the next morning and made my own grits with eggs! Yummy!
Sweet! It’s problematic, but I could easily eat my body weight in grits.
A favorite is shrimp with grits or fried catfish with grits.
I have Celiac, instead of regular breading, I use a mix of corn starch and rice flour for my fried chicken or fish. It has a satisfying, crispy crunch.
I avoid using GF flour blend substitutes like cup 4 cup for frying, they have dairy which affects texture.
Those are both excellent meal choices!
Shakshuka is my favorite dish- perfect for lunch or dinner in addition to breakfast!
I don’t think I’ve had farro before. What is it like?
I have Celiac and can’t eat Farro, but it’s a grain much like wheat berry. It has a chewy/nutty flavor.
For recipes like this, I typically use quinoa or millet as a base.
Oh, you’ve gotta do a Shakshuka at some point – it’s delicious, and very adaptable to different flavor profiles.
I definitely will!
What exactly is “Eggs in Purgatory”? I’ve never heard of it.
Ciao!
Inspired by SmokeyT and Springpansy I decided to really work out this morning. I did weights and some planks. I am exhausted. Am I still allowed to indulge in my morning ritual of toast? lol
We had a beautiful sunrise this morning, I posted some photos on my social media. It was very very pink and pretty. A beautiful start to a Monday.
I am still sampling the JM scents, today is blackberry bay
I love this pilates workout video, it really worked! Have two slices of toast, I’ll join you.
https://youtu.be/9cRNbqJIUmY
Yay—great job and definitely toast. 45 min yoga will be my morning workout and 15 min abs will be the afternoon.
you smell very nice & well done on the workout! I feel like I need to lose a few pounds before I even exercise with vigor.
You absolutely get to have toast!
My mom wears Blackberry and Bay and smells amazing. The one time I tried it she asked me to please never wear it again because “I like that scent and your skin makes it smell like a litter box”. Thanks mom.
Your Mom, I love her already..
She sounds like a hoot!
Good for you for starting off the day with positive movement.
Smelling great In Rochas Absolu. I have not reached for my bottle in a long time.
On my second cup of coffee with some turkish pistachio cookies. I need energy on this grey, cloudy, busy day.
Happy Monday, everyone!?
Scent twins!
Your Turkish cookies sound yummy….
Hello twin! We smell great! And the cookies are amazing! The recipe is below on my answer to LTSG.
Oh my, those cookies sound good. In other pistachio news, the new pistachio latte from Starbucks is pretty darn good. I always do half the pumps to cut the sugar.
I have not tried the pistachio latte yet. I need to take a walk to Starbucks sometime this week.
The cookies are delicious. I have a weakness for Turkish and Persian sweets. I have to thanks my ex mother-in-law for it. I either make them or get them in the bakeries. I have some more of those sweets waiting for me in the kitchen!
Found this flourless lemon almond cake recipe. It’s next on my ‘must make’ list.
https://www.thekitchn.com/flourless-lemon-almond-cake-recipe-23012458?fbclid=IwAR3D9aIyO5sg2fJ_MfK0Ym0nSWiSo311yxXZC2SqvwJR9-KrdwrqNYufxqk
Thank you! To my make list is going too. It sounds delish!
Wow, this looks delicious, and perfect for my gluten-sensitive husband. Definitely adding this to the bake list, thanks for sharing!
Let me know if you want any recipes, I’m happy to share. 🙂
I also have a few GF recipes like banana nut bread and coconut macaroons that are delicious. I’m happy to share.
I can be reached at ldetrich at the land of yodeling dot com.
Will do! I’m trying to cut back on the baked goods at the moment, but I’m sure I’ll cave before too long.
I recently tried using my regular banana bread recipe and subbing about 50% almond flour and 50% Trader Joe’s gluten free flour blend, and it turned out surprisingly fine! I thought the whole middle would collapse but it didn’t.
Did you make those cookies? Recipe?
Below the recipe. I make them in very small sizes and not too thick. They melt in your mouth. So delicious!
https://ye-mek.net/recipe/pistachio-cookie-recipe
Thank you!
On a taste-related front, I have just discovered pistachio butter. Where has this been all my life?
Oh no! I was not aware of it. Now I need to look for it!
Pistachio butter sounds dangerously delicious!
Seriously. I never had any until 2020 and I am on my 3rd jar.
This is an good CP week for me since I just got a small batch of samples featuring narcissus last week! The ones with the yellow centres really scream Illuminating, and grey is actually my favorite color.
SOTD Bruno Fazzolari Au Delà Narcisse. This one is very cold, mossy and unisex to me. I think it really captures the Narcissus who would have bluntly rejected Echo and sat mesmerized by his own reflection at the bank of an icy-cold river fed by mountain water!
I love Au Dela Narcisse. It’s on my full bottle list. Will be curious to read how the rest of Narcissus week goes!
Ooh, you smell great! Funny, I would consider Au Dela N to be very feminine, but I’m not the most femmey woman out there, so maybe I’m not a good judge?! 😀
You smell fantastic. I need to wear that one again soon!
I’m on day 6 of Lost Cherry. I feel like cm8 with Assam of India, or ltsg with Songes.
We have a resident opossum that we’ve seen at night several times over the past year that we’ve lived in this house. I didn’t even know opossums hung out in suburbia; they feel like mountain woodland/marshy creatures to me. Anyway, this morning we had quite a surprise when we saw our weird little friend hanging out on the fence…in daytime. (Technically it was before sunrise, at ~7am, but still.) Quite a surprise. The Internet suggests they can come out in daytime without necessarily being rabid. I certainly hope that’s the case! In the meantime, when I go to the backyard, I will be a bit careful.
Yes, we apparently have lots here in Seattle. I’ve seen them a couple of times in the morning. They scuttle, that’s the only word for it.
Scuttle, yes! Very apt description 🙂
you smell great! I grew up on Oregon, one time i found a momma opossum nursing her babies in our shed, I was pretty freaked out.
Ok I would totally be freaked out too but on the other hand, eeeeee that sounds super cute!
Possums look like aliens to me. Be careful!
Ahahaha. I think they’re kind of cute from a distance, but also super duper weird. Like giant pointy rats!
Yes! Exactly. Super duper weird pointy rats.
When I worked on the horse farm, I saw oppossums all the time, at all hours.
Oh wow that’s good to know. Until today, I’d only ever seen ours at night. Were your opossums friends (uh, not-enemies) with your horses?
I am going to wear Songes for Friday for the CP
Of course 🙂
We have them right here around our townhomes in central Houston! I think they’re cute. A few times they’ve come around to eat some cat food when I left some on the porch. They are marvelous at eating things like ticks. Valuable little creatures.
Yes, possums are great for eating bugs and ticks. Despite looking like a fierce alien, they are harmless and don’t carry rabies.
Oh awesome, that’s a real comfort.
I’m surprised that they hang out in the downtown of a major city! In that case, their presence in my neighborhood makes more sense. They are kinda cute, and they’ve never bothered me; I just can’t get a read on them and don’t understand their motivations.
Plenty of possums in the NJ suburbs!
Thinking of the week’s theme, I went with SL Gris Clair… but it isn’t really grey, is it? It’s more a dusty lavender. (At least the version I have, probably fifteen years old, not less than ten, based on cyclomethicone rather than alcohol, as is common with rollerballs. No telling what it smells like these days.)
You smell divine!
I agree with dusty lavendar, but there’s something about certain shades of grey that can veer into purple terretory, so I think it fits!
It’s a challenge to come up with a truly gray perfume. The color they’re showing is not a misty gray, it’s a solid gray. Hmmm.
You smell wonderful, that’s my choice for Friday.
Angelique Noire today. Ugh Monday. Why can’t I sleep well Sunday nights?
Right there with you! Wishing you better sleep tonight.
It may be the Sunday Meanies as my brother and I call them. 😉 ehaeheh Stress/anxiety on Sunday before the work week. No affiliation to the Atlantic.
https://www.theatlantic.com/family/archive/2020/02/sunday-scaries-anxiety-workweek/606289/
..but you smell so so good!
True. That’s worth something!
Hi all!
I’m warning up in Absolue pour le Soir, after wearing it yesterday and the night before. I pulled it off the shelf and was heart-striken thinking it had turned, but it must have just been what was left in the atomizer tube. Smells seductive and warm as ever. I’m so sad this one didn’t sell well.
Stay safe all!
I have a tiny decant, it’s great for a winter evening.
I think they still make a few bottles a year of this? I found them on MFK website late in 2020 but once they are gone, you have to wait until they make it again.
Watched bits and pieces of the Browns and Steelers game last night. I don’t think that the Steelers expected to lose. Wearing Hedonist Cassis today.
I am so happy that the Browns won!! And the beginning of the game was actually quite humorous in a slapstick way.
It was, after the Steelers talking so much crap during the week.
That game last night was so surreal, especially the first quarter.
I am trying out Fleurs and Alleurs by the Different Company, which I got for practically free, a blind buy based on may admiration for some of the companies’ other offerings and that it was a Celine Ellana creation.
It seems like a granddaughter of some of the turn of the (last) century Guerlain’s particularly Eau D’ Imperial: You know the one who does not have the originality or depth of the founder’s, and is hip to the latest trends but is still trying to work within the heritage.*.Alleurs and Fleurs is a light floral cologne with an anise base. The floral includes a sheer tuberose, which was probably super chic when the fragrance was developed and represents the granddaughter’s modernizing trend.
The notes allegedly include black elder flower, which I have never heard of, white neroli, tuberose and white musk. White musks often give me migraines, but I have not detected it yer. I do get the tuberose and anise. There is also a lime/linden scent which some have complained creates an off putting sharpness. I would say “crisp” rather than sharp, which will probably be very welcome in the summer.
Assuming that musk does not appear or is not the migraine inducing molecule which I find uncomfortable, this will be a nice everyday cologne for my collection.
Wishing a calm week to everyone!
Monday SOTD is Ormaie L’Ovree Bleue.
A calm week would be wonderful.
Join you in wishing for lots of calm! I need a mental break.
We need both a mental and emotional break. Hang in there, Robin, and everybody.
A calm week would feel so good now.
Wearing Chergui for the first time in over a year, and why did I wait so long? This was my first niche purchase and one I loved at first sniff. Though sometimes the tobacco seems to drone on and on, today it feels perfect.
Chergui took me a while to warm to: it did seem dismayingly one-note at first. And I really have to be in the mood for it, but when I’m in that mood, it’s perfect.
Chergui is such a difficult scent for me, it just doesn’t seem to work on my skin. I love it on others though.
I’m the same. I should give my bottle away.
It wears me, I gave it some trying, but no.
Good morning, all. Today’s scent will be, I believe, Ambre Narguile. Unless I change my mind at the last minute. I don’t think I get any “thunks” for it, because the lettering is pink, but I always love a good amber, especially on a grey day like today.
Gategirl, just in case there is a misunderstanding, thunk is when you drain something — a sample or bottle.
SOTD is Angel. I’m more of an Alien gal, but I found a decant of Angel Muse over the weekend that I forgot I had, so I’m in the mood. This is a good Monday scent – nobody gets too close 😀
Ha! Hope it worked out for you. I think you smell great.
I wouldn’t mind smelling your scent trail at all!
It’s the official start to the semester, and I am wearing the office-friendly Dia in my “office”.
Dear me, “Ultimate Gray”? What is Pantone thinking of for 2021? I like a nice, neutral grey, but it seems a pretty dreary pick for a year desperately needing some cheer.
house twins! and agree about grey, but i guess that’s why they picked the yellow
Same, I don’t think I would like it on its own, but the two tones go well together.
It’s a good color combination, feels sophisticated right now at least to me.
I generally like gray, but I especially like it in combo with brighter colors, like yellow. It works so well with hello, orange, pink.
I often find their choices puzzling, and totally agree with you about the gray, even though it is the color of a huge % of my clothing.
But I also can’t believe how upset some people get! Some of the comments on their FB page are a little overwrought. They’re just colors!
That’s definitely a case of “people with too much time on their hands”.
Glad to hear that I am not the only person who thought that grey was kinda gloomy.
Amouage Reflection Woman….totally unintentional GREY bottle, yay 🙂
🙂
I love that mural. Wearing No. 5 L’Eau today for some easy going class.
I do too!
I love grey, but not a fan of that yellow. And it’s a really flat grey. We painted our interiors Benjamin Moore Wickham Gray and Metropolitan, a grey with blue undertones. Perhaps we overdid the grey, lol.
SoTD is Shalimar, 1990-ish formulation. I’m frozen and thought it would feel warm. Not yet!
Enjoy the day.
you smell good, you can come sit next to me with your 90s Shalimar and I will keep you warm with some Shalimar tea…
That sounds lovely, be right there!
We just painted the interior of our small house with *a lot* of greys — Benjamin Moore Classic Gray in some rooms, Stonington Gray in the living room, cabinets in Beacon Gray, which is really more blue than gray, and doors in Beacon Gray and FlowerBox. Oyster white for trim and ceilings. It is super light and super cheerful. The one room that *didn’t* work was the one where we tried yellow. Going to have to repaint it!
At one point I must have had twenty-five different grays on the wall to pick, so I am sure that Wickham was in the mix! The they we were crazy at the hardware store!
Our old house’s exterior was painted Stonington Gray. I made some poor color choices in interior rooms there (e.g., lavender bath), so my son said I’m not allowed to pick out paint colors unaided again!
We moved here in February and decided we wanted clean and bright. We painted samples on poster board and moved them all around the house for days. I wanted a Hale Navy accent wall but was voted down. Just as well – this feels perfect.
Hey, I did my living room and dining room in Wickham Gray this year. It’s perfect for those rooms, because they have lots of windows but the front windows look onto a porch so aren’t as bright as they might be. The WG really helped make those rooms brighter and bigger…
Seville a l ‘Aube, because I haven’t worn it in a while.
Lovely ❤️
Testing Bogue’s Maai, and for am moment there I thought I was in trouble again, specifically Douleur trouble. Blue cheese! But I calmed down, and the perfume calmed down. . . and now we are somewhere in DSH’s Chinchilla world, which is totally fine by me.
Sounds interesting.
I didn’t like Maai
Good luck!
Have you sniffed Chinchilla? My guess it that it wouldn’t work for you either—but, who knows?
Monday!
1) SOTD: Boucheron, and a top off after my strength workout this morning.
2) Rainy and grey, as is expected for winter!
3) Getting prepared for the last round of InfoSec certs in March – a very long 13 weeks await me!
my father wore the mens Boucheron. It smelled so so good
Put on Eau Duelle from a decant. This feels like the golden vanilla is drowned in a greyish incense smoke. It’s not bad, but I still kind of dislike it. The same happened with Vanille Insensée. Funnily I like incense, but definitely in another style.
Read an article in the paper about a charity, that transports terminally ill patients, that cannot be transported sitting to a place they want to visit one last time. One wanted to see a concert, others a soccer game or see the sea. I was moved and gave some money to their charity. Such a great idea!
Have you tried Jo Malone Vetiver and Golden Vanilla?
No, I will try it if I ever go shopping again
Wearing Absolute Aphrodisiac again from a kind NSTer which is wonderful. I get a sweet, spicy vanilla w/ some amber and incense.
And have a therapist appointment for my daughter this afternoon to help w/ stress and anxiety.♥️ So grateful for telehealth.
Yay, hope the appt helps!
SOTD = Imaginary Authors A Whiff of Waffle Cone
Gray!
Burnt caramel and vanilla ?
https://www.instagram.com/p/CJ6ecnqhl75/?igshid=16pol97cqs9w7
I will try to do the CP everyday, all visual because I have no color association feelings with perfume.
I love waffle cones..if it smells like them..call me lemmoned. If that even makes sense haha. Nothing like a waffle cone with a scoop or two of pistachio.
It smells more like the inside of an ice cream shop while making waffle cones and the oven door just opened.
I have been wondering about that scent from IA.How do you like it?
So I love burnt smelling things (although not ashtray) in the form of caramel and vanilla. This is a great combo and I love it. I suggest trying it first though as there are divergent views!
Thank you! I know it was created for Salt and Straw ice cream and I love the way their shops smell, just not sure I want to smell like it.
Do you have any yellow owls yet?
No yellow 3D owls but I am sure I have yellow ones on some ACEO cards. Now I have to look sometime this week!
I’m in Dryad today, for some computer work this morning and a pilates zoom session later on. I took down the last of the Christmas decorations yesterday and Mr. G is sad about that … but he’ll get over it, and I won’t go insane with the need to declutter. 🙂
I love Dryad so much. You smell amazing. Have you had any trouble with it evaporating? My bottle went from a significant bit left to nothing without me spraying it! I have a lot of the Papillon perfumes and this seems to happen with them. The bottles maybe?
No … so far anyway. I’ll keep an eye on it! One thing that I have noticed is that the sprayer is fussy about the amount of pressure – if I press with my index finger, the spray is weak and kind of a single stream, whereas if I hold it so that I can spray with my thumb, supporting the bottom of the bottle with the rest of my fingers, the spray is much stronger and more diffuse. I wonder if the neck crimp lets air in or something (which might contribute to both issues). I might try wrapping the neck with plyofilm where it joins the bottle and see if that works any magic on the spray head.
We really need to take our stuff down too but my girls have been resistant. Maybe this weekend.
I was sad to lose my tree, but it was surely becoming a fire hazard.
Looks like my neighbors took down their outdoor Xmas decor over this past weekend. It’s so dark outside right now as a result.
I’m in Le Labo Bergamote 22, which is my birthday perfume. I bought this for myself 3 years ago already. Wow, time flies. I don’t usually work on my birthday because I try to take a whole week of vacation, lol, but new job means very little vacation time earned so it’s at work I am.
Happy birthday, madtowngirl. I often end up working on my birthday, too, unfortunately, but you celebrate you anyway!!
Thanks springpansy!
You smell great. That was a real gateway perfume for me. It and the Neroli from Le Labo.
Thanks, I have a soft spot for Le Labo, I really like many from them.
Oooh Happy Birthday from one January gal to another!!! ?
I treated myself to this place called Crumbl Cookies on my b-day. I got the Birthday Cake one.
This is their video..warning, this video may cause drooling and/or intense sugar cravings:
https://crumblcookies.com/
Man they have a lemon one now? Shoot. I may have to go back!
Thanks! Omg there’s one of those coming to my neighborhood!?
Many happy returns.
Thanks Aurora!
Happy Birthday! ?????
Thanks pl67!
Happy Birthday!
I snuck a peek at your IG and saw that Loverboy vinyl.. loved it! Keep on a rockin!?
Ha! You know it!? Are you on Instagram?
Thanks!
I’m not, but I saw you mention yours the other day and thought I would check it out. Your Midwest looks much nicer than mine. Lol
Lol. I only take pictures when it’s pretty out.?
Happy Scented Birthday madtowngirl! ?????
Thanks Jalapeño!
A very happy birthday!! Hope you will have some fun today despite work.
Thanks Robin!
Happy birthday!
Thanks cazaubon!
Happy birthday mtg!
Thanks hajusuuri!
That was my first FB after I fell down the rabbit hole! You smell great. Happy birthday!
Thanks!
I’ll be doing Amouages this week. Tried Journey yesterday. It’s one of the Ines I really don’t like. Today’s choice is Memoir Woman. Good but I don’t need a bottle.
Amouage Sunshine would be an obvious choice for that yellow color of the year, but I truly loathe it! Except the bottle is pretty. Isn’t there another bright yellow Amouage? Of course, associating the scent with the color of the bottle is probably not the idea for our CP….
That’s what I’m doing – literal colors of the packaging.
Mimosa? Which did very little for me either.
I kind of like Memoir. The first hour or so is a bit rough but it gets better over time, unlike this pandemic.
SOTM No. 19. I’m green not grey.
Makes me think we should have a CP called “It’s not easy being green!”
And green can be big like an ocean
Or important like a mountain
Or tall like a tree
When green is all there is to be
It could make you wonder why
But why wonder, why wonder?
I am green and it’ll do fine
It’s beautiful
And I think it’s what I want to be
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRZ-IxZ46ng
We could “scent” the Muppets. Miss Piggy is easy to scent. Gonzo could be trickier. Is there a chicken-y scent?!
Haha. Love that!
Oh I could easily do a full week of that!
Rainy and dreary here so I’m wearing Orange Sanguine for a citrus pick-me-up.
Dreary here, too.
Replica By the Fireplace. I’m moving from “like” to “love” with this one, it smells so good! Got my house cleaned today so I’m just going to sit here with a book and enjoy it for awhile, and let my perfume waft. Cozy!
This is my favorite almost all of the year, but it shines during fall and winter.I love to wear it to bed.
I have a travel spray from Sephora!
Wearing Iris Poudre today. Grey, and also matching the sky.
Nice and the drydown is out of this world!
Thank you! Yes, that drydown is fantastic!
I’m wearing the dreaded Prada Infusion d’Iris, simply because it seems like a gray scent. I say dreaded, because I’ve never really liked this blind buy. Too powdery to my nose and taste. But…I’m liking it better today.
Trying to be patient in my husband’s foot-dragging on taking down the tree. I took down all the felted and soft ornaments. We just need to do the breakables and lights.
The sun was out today, and 8 or 9C, it was much colder last week
Wearing vintage Oriental Lumpur with all the spices I like, lots of saffron, cinnamon but no dreaded cumin.
Glad to hear that your weather has warmed up!
Thank you, it positively boosted my mood. Nothing like sunshine ?
I wanted to like this because I love saffron, but it was just a spicy amber to my nose….
Ah, the mysteries of perfume ?
I haven’t spritzed anything yet today because I had a mild migraine this morning and was scared to make it worse. Thankfully it’s mostly gone now.
I am expecting a long-awaited, long saved-for bottle of Bois des Iles in the mail this evening (fingers crossed), so I will eagerly spray that this evening!
Sorry to hear that you were dealing with a migraine today. Yuck.
Enjoy your long awaited bottle!
Thank you! And happy birthday to you!!
Thanks!
Did you receive it today? EDT or EDP or parfum?
It’s finally here! I’m pretty sure I’m the last stop for UPS.
I got a giant bottle of the EDP. I had been nursing an old small decant for a long time, I don’t even know what concentration it was, I think a pre-Exclusifs EDT or EDP. I finally got to try the new EDP and decided it’s worthy. So I snapped up a very full pre-owned bottle. 😀
More errands done today! Spooky kitty’s annual vet appointment has been made. She will not like it one bit. ?
SOTD = commando today, but I am wearing Pacifica’s Persian Rose body butter on my shins today. Almost thunked that tube of lotion, but have one last portion in it.
Woo hoo for errands. I don’t know what happened to this mornings sun but it sure was chilly damp!
I didn’t see any sun at all. Just clouds, and more clouds.
Spritzed a bunch of things today, but the last one was Agonist Arctic Jade so I’m declaring that my SOTD.
I wore Agonist Isis today because to me it’s definitely a “yellow” scent. I have a total conviction that ylang-Ylang is a yellow fragrance. This is gorgeous. It got cold here! I can’t believe that, as a Michigan native, I now find 43 degrees nearly impossible to bear! Just found out my office building at the university had a fire from someone’s space heater (not allowed). The fire triggered sprinklers and three floors of offices were flooded! OMG! People can’t go in to check and are scared about losing books, mementos, diplomas, notes, records, etc. It’s so awful! I’m not in there anymore but feel sad.
Ylang-ylang does have yellow flowers, so I’d call it a yellow scent. Particularly if it has a hint of banana to it, as some ylang does.
I had also thought to wear some ylang ylang perfumes this week, as they are assuredly yellow in my mind. Ditto mimosa.
That’s terrible about the flooding in your old university office building! So many books and important things in those offices.
