Zoologist Snowy Owl ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 31 December 2020 9 Comments

Indie Canadian line Zoologist will launch Snowy Owl, a new unisex fragrance.

A thick carpet of silver envelops the landscape, untouched but for the dazzling reflection of the sun. Snow stretches as far as the eye can see, while a bitter wind rolls silently across the sky, its hush barely broken by the powerful beat of an ivory wing. Despite the stillness of the arctic, the snowy owl senses a flutter beneath the icy crust far below. Through snowy tunnels voles scamper, oblivious to their fate. A warm glow stirs within the breast of the majestic bird as it dives, confident in its mastery over the frigid kingdom.

Zoologist Snowy Owl glides on with a minty opening, while the gentle warmth of musk combines with beautiful hints of snowdrops, lily of the valley and iris. Sweet coconut and woody vanilla swoop in to surprise and entice. Snowy Owl merges cool vitality with exquisite softness in a captivating scent, ideal for those who aren't afraid to take what they desire.

Snowy Owl was developed by perfumer Dawn Spencer Hurwitz. Additional notes include snow accord, mint, rose, mate, frankincense, galbanum, ambrette, cedar, civet, musks, oakmoss and tonka bean.

Zoologist Snowy Owl will be available in 60 ml Extrait de Parfum; samples are available now for $8 each.

So am I, what an interesting combination of notes: mint, coconut, lily of the valley…. Plus they did the coldness of Musk Deer so well. I especially love the illustration on this bottle too!

Me three. Like Lov, love Iris and coconut. The mint sound like a wonderful counterpoint and a cool breath of wind. Will order a sample of this for sure.

Agree. This one has a curious mix.

I’m several releases behind in my sampling of Zoologist. Will need to place an order. This is a very prolific house!

The notes don’t particularly appeal to me, but I LOVE owls, so I might have to try it out!

Something about this is enticing to me. Like something you would wear at home, but not every day or out and about. I’m not a minty person, but if it’s in the open and then fades to something less cold, it sounds really interesting. May need a sample.

Snowdrops & lily of the valley – both appeal, will have to have a sniff at Bloom Perfumery when I’m next in London. I bought Trish McEvoy’s Snowdrop & Crystal flowers at a ‘mini’ Neiman Marcus in Forth Worth some years ago & really liked it, so this is definitely worth a try.
