Christian Louboutin Loubiworld ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 30 October 2020 26 Comments

French luxury footwear brand Christian Louboutin has launched Loubiworld, a new collection of 7 fragrances: Loubicroc, Loubicrown, Loubidoo, Loubifunk, Loubikiss, Loubiraj and Loubirouge.

“We will travel the world through my mind and experience seven unique fragrances where I have bottled my dreams, fantasies and imagination” - Christian Louboutin.

Loubicroc ~ "Christian Louboutin invited Daphné Bugey to create a potent Spicy Oriental. The crocodile is the guardian of the secrets of the pyramids and of this intense elixir created with myrrh, cypriol and sandalwood. Mystery ... and seduction."

Loubicrown ~ "A Woody Oriental imagined by Christophe Raynaud. Roll out the red carpet! The aristocratic nobility of cedar is shaken up with an irreverent patchouli and tonka bean accord. To crown you in confidence."

Loubidoo ~ "Daphné Bugey built with Christian Louboutin a Floral Fruity lucky charm. What good luck, wherever you are this lucky cat will bring you great fortune! Tip-toeing on velvet paws, it blends the direct simplicity of strawberry with the opulence of rose and cedar. A fragrance that’s high on mischief."

Loubifunk ~ "Christian Louboutin entrusted Nicolas Beaulieu with the creation of this exuberant Floral Rose. The signature Christian Louboutin red sole stilettos crown this pineapple with a festive spirit. A carnival of rose, blackcurrant and patchouli, an invitation to dance and celebrate the sheer joy of living, something very dear to our creator. Samba!"

Loubikiss ~ Woody floral. "Daphné Bugey creates here an ode to eternal love. This calavera skull crowned with white flowers is composed as a bouquet of jasmine, tuberose and musk. A bewitching and magical kiss that leaves as its trail a memory that is eternal. Hypnotic!"

Loubiraj ~ "Majestic and wild, Leather Woody is a creation by Daphné Bugey. This Leather Woody roars intensely as a full-bodied blend of suede, cedar and pink pepper. One thing is certain: in its footsteps, the magic sings, dances and leaves a powerful trail."

Loubirouge ~ "An Oriental Spicy cabaret of the senses choreographed by Marie Salamagne. High heels, a cabaret and a sensual wake of cardamom, iris and vanilla. Follow the red soles into the glamorous Paris that has always inspired Christian Louboutin. A spectacle for the senses!"

Christian Louboutin LoubiWorld Loubicroc, Loubicrown, Loubidoo, Loubifunk, Loubikiss, Loubiraj and Loubirouge are $300 each for 90 ml Eau de Parfum.

And I was cracking up at Lubifunk, since funk has of course changed meanings over the years but still can mean a bad odor in American English.

That’s the first thing I thought of, too. Louboutin x Croc, the latest collaboration! ? Stealing from Sports Illustrated, I’m going to say that this is 2020’s Latest Sign of the Apocalypse.

I would love to know how these do. I would suspect they would appeal to a group that does not pay $300 for 90 ml.

Also would suspect Mr. L has not made a killing on his first fragrance trio.

But as always I know nothing :-)

Nice to see Daphne Bugey is keeping busy, but the bottles are even tackier than the Penhaligons animal caps & I dislike the baby-speak names.

In total agreement with you re the hideous Penhaligon bottle tops. A once classy British company now gone to pot!

      “Loubi-doobie-doo, where are you?
In stores where they charge a packet
      Loubie-doobie-doo, oh how could you?
I’m better off buying a jacket”

(sung to the Scoobie-Doo theme song, of course)

    THESE ARE COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE.

The names, the hideous caps, the fact that there are seven of them all at once, the ridiculous price….

Of course they’ll sell like hotcakes. Of course they will.

Most of the bottle caps creep me out. Loubirouge is the one I want to sniff…

These remind me of many of the ornaments, statuettes and lucky charms that I saw in the windows of jewelry shops in Hong Kong. Despite the immediate resemblance, the underlying aesthetic is quite different to Penhaligon’s anthropomorphic animal heads. Seems the artist is French but of Vietnamese heritage, Helene Tran.

Seems the launch will be in Singapore so I think these are meant for the Far East?

None of these sound good, especially for that price. I find the caps to be hideous but the bottles themselves look ok.
