Interesting commercial.
My favorite no 5 commercial is the one with Audrey Tautou on the train..so romantic and beautiful.
Agree, that one was the best.
For anyone who never saw it:

I really like this. Cotillard is a treasure. And even if the dance is a bit silly it is quite beautiful.
Agree though, Tautou had the best no 5 commercial of my lifetime.
Kidman of course had the absolute worst: “I LOVE to dance!” ?
It is less of a story than the last 2 big ads, that’s my only complaint. The “director’s cut” spots for the last 2 were like short films, this is like a commercial.
This ad does not inspire me nor does the actress, I will agree on the train (good) and the Kidman (hokey) short films. But wasn’t there also an ad featuring Kidman in a black cape with a wolf? That one I quite liked.
wasn’t there one with Brad Pitt!?

yes! I will have to watch that again after lunch.
I think it was rather awkward, but Brad is easy on the eyes
Just watched this. Agreed – very awkward indeed.
I kept waiting for the revelation (admission?) that Brad wears No. 5 himself — dude could probably pull it off. Alas, a marketing breakthrough missed!
Agreed there’s something oddly stilted about it.
I watched it when it came out and just clicked back. Couldn’t re-watch – it was excruciating the first time. Maybe I should try it with the sound off!
I liked the SNL version of it: https://youtu.be/pd_BOTXkr18
But wasn’t it one of the mostly discussed ad post here? I bet also many people who were normally not interested in perfumes watched it just to see BP 🙂
The spoof is great!
Marion is exquisite!
Mixed feelings about the commercial, but it’s cute!
in a less than joyful year, seeing this yesterday made me insanely happy for a while.
It had the same effect on me 😀 Actually the dance reminds me of Pulp Fiction.
Interesting to watch, but that moon desert has nothing to do with what No. 5 smells like to me….no inspiration to dig out my bottle and wear it. Oh well, still interesting to watch…
Straight out love from me! I would say the train ad is a bit retro and this one a bit futuristic (and the Brad Pitt one just an unmitigated disaster.) I think incorporating a little futurism is a good idea as the challenge is about making something old new again. No 5 is a bit of a paradox in that it’s opulent but also aloof. Maybe they’ve captured some of that in the austere but glittering landscape. Most impressively though, they’ve lent a little humour and lightness to what many might consider a stiff and overly formal fragrance (don’t shoot me – I love Eau Premiere!)
My absolute favorite one is the one with the swimming pool and the airplane. Ridley Scott directed that one.
Sent to my sister, who wears No. 5 as her only scent. It goes with her Birkenstocks.
That is fabulous. I bet your sister is fabulous, too.
