Niche line Byredo launched Deep Viola earlier this summer. Deep Viola is currently exclusive to Harrods in the UK.
“A violet is the youth of primary nature,” Shakespeare wrote in Hamlet, igniting an endless love for the purple flower among generations of women to come. Capturing the plant’s effervescent spirit in a bottle, Byredo presents Deep Viola, layering the central namesake note with saffron on top and incense on the base to produce a truly exquisite eau de parfum.
Additional notes include bergamot, angelica seed, leather accord, agar wood and vanilla.
Byredo Deep Viola is £170 for 100 ml Eau de Parfum at Harrods.

I really like the name and from the notes it looks like something I would like to try.
Guessing it will be in wider distribution next year.
I need this. Violet and incense, throw in Saffron. I’ll work overtime and stop buying cheap thrills to save up.
It had me until I read the oud note. I don’t mind oud sometimes but most times, doesn’t jive with me.
I thought the same thing, but I don’t mind oud sometimes. This sounds pretty good to me.
I wonder if it will compete with Vivacious for the place of new favorite violet scent…looking forward to trying it.
