Lo and behold, Friday. (Also, World Ranger Day.) Our community project for today is best of summer...wear the perfume you're reaching for the most this summer. (If it's winter where you are, wear the perfume you're reaching for the most this winter.)
What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.
I have two oldie but goodie favorites this summer. One is Carthusia Mediterraneo, which I tend to spray on in the late afternoon, and which tends to disappear by dinner. Then, at bed time, my trusty stress reliever, Aftelier Ancient Resins.
Reminder: 8/7 we're doing Playlist Friday, again...name a favorite song, and wear a perfume that fits the song. (We did this project twice in 2017.)
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2020, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

I have been *obsessed* with roses all summer: my shower gel is YR Argan Rose boosted with Lush Rose Jam body spray, my hand soap is Method Rosewater (a cheap flashy synthetic fun rose), and I’ve been wearing a lot of SL La Fille de Berlin but even more Atelier Cologne Rose Anonyme, which is dark and growly and just exactly what I need, for some reason. It is a mystery!
I think it’s so interesting how certain scents speak to us at times! Sounds like rose notes are really resonating for you right now–how fun is that?! Did you stick with products you already knew, or have you done some rose-scented product exploration along the way?
I bought the Lutens earlier this year but I’ve had a real thing for roses for years now: another longtime favourite is Etat Libre d’Orange Rossy de Palma, which is a *very* dark rose. But this summer it’s just been all roses all the time for some reason. Can’t keep my hands off ’em.
Absolutely love Rossy. Haunted flea bay until I found the price I was looking for.
Oh, I like that one a lot! Have you ever tried Calligraphy Rose, by Aramis?
I’m loving my rose scented goat milk bar soap. And when I wear Stella, I’m reminded of how nice roses smell. It’s just a straightforward rose. Not jammy or lush. I love those too. So, you smell great!
I agree, rose is just such a great note! And so many ways it can be used as well!
I love, love, love the scent of roses – irl, in soaps, etc. – but on my skin, rose just kind of sits and grates. Maybe I need to try more varieties of rose!
Yay for roses!
I did a “Roses de Mai” marathon on my blog in May, when I posted about a different rose fragrance every day! It was lots of fun, and I rediscovered some of my many rose-centric fragrances. Such a great fragrance note for summer. I enjoyed Rose Anonyme, it reminded me of Carmen Sandiego (yes, the heroine of the animated series). I think one of the best rose fragrances (and values) around is Tauerville’s Rose Flash, have you tried it?
I think it is my turn to feel grumpy today… But I just do not want to talk about the things that made me grumpy.
Anyway, it is a cool day, and the sun appeared only in the afternoon. I guess it is another reason why I wanted to wear something sunny and floral, to make me feel better. So I am finishing a glass of champagne, wearing California Reverie and humming California Dreamin’.
Have a good Friday everyone!
When I’m grumpy, I rarely want to talk about it! Let me go brood alone for a while! Hope you get what you need and feel beter later.
Thank you. It looks like my day is finally getting better. At least the work part should be over by now.
I have found that, if one is able, wallowing in grumpiness can be an okay thing. If I slide into it, I eventually get bored with it.
Agreed. Embracing my feelings almost always works better than denying them.
I agree with you both. Suppressing only makes it worse.
I have been alternately sad and grumpy myself. Enjoy your champagne. I may have some later today myself. Big hugs and happy Friday!
Thank you and the same to you!
You smell great. Hope the grumpies left you. Hugs.
I’m wearing Trudon Bruma from a new decant. This would be better in the cooler weather, I think.
Really? I thought that one was pretty seasonless. But not sure I tried it in high summer.
Interesting, I am enjoying Bruma in the heat, it feels cool and refreshing.
Wearing Chanel Paris- Deauville, the perfume I have worn the most this summer. I have also been reaching a lot for Guerlain AA Herba Herba Fresca, O de Lancome and Chanel Cristalle EdT.
Happy Friday! ?
Scent twin today! Paris-Deauville is my most worn this summer. Atelier Pacific Lime is probably my #2.
I really love Pacific Lime
Hi twin! We smell great! Paris-Deauville is my summer favorite from Les Eaux. I love Paris-Venise, but I wear it more on cooler temps. The body lotions and shower gels are also really good.
You smell great. Love Deauville and Herba Fresca. I recently tried Dame Minty Man which is citrus, mint and mate and has become a favorite you might want to try…reminds me of Herba Fresca.
Oh Shera, thanks for the tip about Minty Man! I have not tried it yet, but if it is similar to Herba Fresca I have to order a decant then!
You have some great “greenies” on your list!
I love green scents. Two days ago, inspired by you I tried Wrapping and it bloomed beautifully in the extreme heat. I think it works better for me as a summer scent than in cold temps.
You smell perfect! Love that one!
Thank you, KellyC! You also smell fantastic in Bronze Goddess!
Commando so far but eyeing Shalimar bottle lotion.
Yesterday I met some friend in Central Park, and if this is even possible I think I had a bit of heat exhaustion. We were outside for a long time and then I walked home. When I got home I had a headache and felt nauseous, realizing I had only had coffee with them at the park and no water. It got worse and I had to call my husband to come home to help with the kids. I literally laid down at 4pm and didn’t get out of bed until 6am this morning. I could barely keep down the water, I felt like everything was going to come back up..TMI! I know! Sorry…
So I think Shalimar lotion would be the obvious choice for summer because I don’t want another headache. I feel like its still lingering.
My other favorites for summer are Songes, Frangipani, Cristalle…the Souffle flanker could be up there on the list..I also like some winter fragrances in summer like Encens Mythique
Ugh! That sounds like dehydration to me. It can be truly awful! That has happened bad enough to me that I needed IV fluids. I hope you are ok keeping liquids down now, yes? If you can’t keep them down, that’s when other means are necessary. Be extra nice to yourself today–lots of cool water, no heavy physical exertion if you can avoid it, etc.
Agreed. I keep pedialyte in fridge for that having spent a few times getting IV fluids
Yes to all of this. So sorry, LTSG – it’s extra hard with little ones. Sometimes a little dry toast or cracker will help settle your stomach and then you can get some liquids in afterwards. Hugs!
I have no problems with toast, but of course, everyone has eaten all the bread 🙁
It was SO HOT around NYC yesterday…I definitely would have had heat exhaustion and/or dehydration if I’d gone any further than our yard area. Aw. Take care of yourself!!
I hope you feel better soon. It looks like Marjorie Rose is right. Rest, liquids etc.
Yep, as others said, that sounds like dehydration. I suffered from headaches as a kid through young adulthood. Finally figured out most of them were low-grade dehydration. Gatorade or similar does help…more than just water. Just try to rehydrate today. Watermelon works!
These are good suggestions! Watermelon is a great way to rehydrate! I think I was like you, LizzieB, as kid, too. I bet half of my early migraines were really dehydration.
The heat has been oppressive. I too was in the park yesterday, but pushed it to 7:30pm due to the heat. Even so, I was a sweaty mess when I got home.
Hope you’re feeling much better today!
Oh no! I really hope you’ll feel a lot better soon. Drink fluids, maybe buy some Gatorade?
Oh no!!! That’s defo heat exhaustion. Seconding everyone that’s recommended rest and Pedialyte/Gatorade etc.
FWIW I buy some electrolyte tablets or packets (Hydrolyte is what’s most commonly available in Canada at drugstores but Nuun is super popular in the USA) and put – not a full dose – but one tablet in each large bottle of water I drink when it’s summer or I’m exercising a lot.
Those tablets are super portable and a lifesaver!
Feel better soon!
LTSG I hope you feel better! It sounds like you need a lovely visit from your FIL and some delicious chai& biscuits.
Sending you a hug. Zoom
Him!
Agree w/ others…definitely dehydration. It can make you feel like you’re dying. Drink plenty of fluids and even Pedialyte or things w/ electrolytes. Big hugs and hope you feel better.
Yikes, dehydration is no fun, I hope you feel better! But I find when I’m out and wandering about in SF, I drink less water, for some reason! Pedialyte works quite well for me.
Hope you can rest and rehydrate and feel better soon. I sat outside the other day in the heat waiting for my grandkids to arrive and after awhile had to go back inside til they came, couldn’t stand it any longer. Didn’t get sick but I was drained and exhausted after that for the rest of the day.
Thank you for all these suggestions, I am staying in and staying hydrated today
I was going to say that espresso + really hot weather + not enough water does this to me sometimes. So glad you are better!
Thanks Robin.
.yes, laying off the caffeine today. Just one morning cuppa and maybe some herbal tisane later..
Heat exhaustion & dehydration is no joke. Hope that you are feeling better.
I am so sorry to hear you felt so bad!
Lovely image, I’ve been dreaming of the Mediterranean all summer.
Wearing Un Jardin sur le Nil today, a summer staple.
Equally worn in the summer are Paris-Deauville, La Fin d’un Été, Eau des Sens. A new evening into bedtime addition is Bombay Bling.
Happy Friday!
I’ll have to try the bling at bedtime!
Definitely a summer winner! You smell great!
I can’t imagine facing summer without my trusty Eau d’Hadrien edp. It’s been a constant in my collection since 1995 and without a doubt, it’s the scent I’ve repurchased the most. I shudder to think how much money I’ve spent on it in the last 25 years. Sure it’s changed a bit in its time, but to me, it’s still recognizable as Hadrien. Wearing it today, straight from the fridge.
Money well spent. You smell glorious!
You smell super good!
Woke up in no 22 and I am debating on if I want to wear Kyoto or not. It seems like this has been my most reached for perfume this summer. Did a little cleaning before I took a shower and will do more when I get home. After today, I will be on vacation. Nine days that I don’t have to go to work. Either Noontide Petals or Kyoto.
Enjoy those nine days!
Enjoy your time off! Hope it’s restful and fun and all good!
Yay for time off!
No 22 is a lovely way to wake up! Enjoy your break.
Smelling great in 22 and Kyoto (if that’s what you chose!)!
TGIF
Made it
National avocado ? day. I’ll do my part.
Slept and slept
Have reached for Volutes, all the Chanel eaux, le labo the noir and Ta’if.
Went fragrance free a lot until June.
I returned a pair of sneakers that weren’t working for me and now have a credit yikes ? on a card.
St. Clair Eve, here I come!
And I’ll do my part too! Love my avocados!
Yay for avocado day! I had a beauty this morning with breakfast. I get so excited when I get a creamy, green, perfectly ripe unblemished avocado. Feels like some kind of personal victory ?
Thank goodness for Alexa – she tell me every morning what I am to celebrate.
You are going to love Eve! Happy for you.
Yay!! a new fragrance during the horrible terrible year.
And perfect avocados.
I must tell my daughter about avocado day – she’s been making herself avocado/egg toast this week. Thanks for the info!
Yay for sleep and avocados.
I should have picked up avocados when I went to the grocery store.
As I am heading to lift with my trainer later this morning, I think I will choose AdP Blu Mediterraneo Fico di Amalfi for my participation in the CP. I haven’t reached for it more than others this summer, but it is one I like in summer when I’m working out–smells fresh, comes in an enormous size so I can spritz lavishly, and helps create a little, clean bubble of scent when I’m in a crowded gym, when people still did things in crowded gyms.
I wonder how much strength I’ve lost these four months? I’ve continued lifting, but I don’t have anything more than 40lbs (total) other than bodyweight. I don’t LOOK less strong, so fingers crossed all my hard work hasn’t gone *poof*! I know it comes back, but my previous experience with losing strength says, for me, it can be a long process to regain it. And it’s so much fun to feel really strong and capable!
Here here for weightlifting! I’ve been a fan and practitioner of the Les Mills Body Pump classes for the last 20 years and completely agree that feeling strong is a wonderful thing! These classes are geared towards high reps with lower weights than traditional bodybuilding, but I find the synchronization of lifting in time with music really kicks in the endorphins and makes the work so much more enjoyable – and the results are undeniable. Congrats to you getting restarted : )
Thanks, AnnJune! Yes, I’ve been lifting in one way or another for about 6 years now. Stuck doing higher-rep stuff at home, of course, but I like that kind of lifting anyway. I like feeling the pump and looking (kinda, not really, but maybe if you look hard) buff. 🙂 I can totally see how doing it with others, with music, etc, could be really fun!
I started with powerlifting about 6 months before The Pause. I love walking into a gym and putting plates on the bar and going against type. I’d added 40 or 50 pounds to my deadlift in those handful of months, and it felt A-MA-ZING! ??????
That’s wonderful and your weight increase is impressive! I don’t know about you, but I’m leaving middle age behind at a good clip and the benefits of lifting in older age are undeniable. I’m so looking forward to getting on a regular warm yoga schedule also once the vaccine is widely distributed – flexibility and strength feels like a million (been a while since I’ve been there, however). Enjoy your workouts Marjorie Rose!
I agree, strength is essential for aging more gracefully! I’m *only* 42, but I’ve had a lot of health challenges in my life. I feel so privileged that I am well enough to pursue this stuff now and to have some meaningful impact on how my body works going forward. Yoga is great for mobility and a different kind of strength, too! I wish I had time and energy to do it all–and it was safe to venture out and do it. I’m sorry you’re missing your hot yoga sessions! This is such a challenging time–chronic stress and the loss of so many of our options for stress management and self-care.
Hear hear for feeling strong and capable! Our bodies are more resilient and adaptable than we think!
When you can get back to heavier weights you may initially feel less strong for sure, but probably you’ll find it comes back a lot more rapidly than it was gained the first time around!
I’m three weeks back into equipment training (circus rather than weights but same idea, I can finally lift *myself* again) and doing the living room workouts kept me a lot fitter than I had anticipated!
That’s good to hear that you found your living room workouts somewhat effective! Hopefully, I will find the same thing.
Circus training sounds intense! We have groups here in Portland that practice in the parks–walking on tight ropes, hand balancing off a partner, that sort of thing. I think it’s incredible the control they have to maintain.
The control definitely went a little bit! ? I’m planning to take 6-8 weeks minimum to get back to where I was before lockdown, that seems to be the expert consensus on resuming acrobatic activity after a pause this long without an increased injury risk. The hard part is not doing too much at once, because it’s exciting to have the access again. It’s like being a kid in a candy store, only some of the candy will make you pull a muscle reaching for it ?
How did you do? Curious about how you dealt with you face covering issue and what it triggers.
Hello! I wore a face shield instead of a mask, which seems less likely to trigger me. (As an aside, I tried to wear a mask off and on while jogging the other day. I covered my face a few seconds while passing some folks, and according to my watch, my heartrate went from the 130’s to 189bpm in about 10 seconds! Yikes!)
I lifted about 60% of where I was at 4 months ago. I could have gone heavier, but I’m sure my muscles are going to need a little babying before I can push hard again.
Goutal Le Chevrefeuille has been a pretty consistent companion this summer with some spritzes of Mediterraneo (and some sampling) in between. I’ve also enjoyed SSS Winter Woods which chocolatemarzipan recommended that I try in the warm weather and she is right!
Also, unfortunately, I was right yesterday to worry about how I would feel after the second of my two series shingle vaccine. Ugh. I woke up at 1:30 a.m. and didn’t sleep much after – very achy. And that was WITH Advil. Feels fluish but should go away faster. Going to try to work today anyway – as I’m still working from home I can take breaks with the sofa not far away. 🙂 I’m just happy it’s not a three series!
And the “fragrance” I’ve worn the most often is actually: Sun Bum Mineral SPF 50 Sunscreen Lotion with Zinc. It does give me a whitish cast, but it works very well and I prefer mineral sunscreens. The smell is sort of coconut/vanilla, I guess. I’d probably prefer fragrance free, but it’s pretty good and gets better as time goes on. I ordered two tubes without realizing it had so much fragrance so I’m stuck with it for a while!
Oh, I’ve been waffling on sunscreens the last few years! I feel like the mineral kinds are safer, less weird/risky chemicals (maybe just in my head, but whatever), but I don’t like the white, greasiness of them! I keep buying a mineral kind, using it a while and then get tired of feeling like an oil slick and going out to buy a bottle of the chemical stuff the next round.
I think physical sunscreens are supposed to be safer, although they say best of all is to wear protective clothing, find shade, etc. I just looked up the Sun Bum and it wasn’t rated super highly on one website. Oh well! Hard to win.
So sorry to hear this.
Hope you feel better, rest and take it easy today…it’s Friday!?
Hope you feel better soon, glad you don’t have to undergo a third one.
Ugh. Hope you are feeling a bit better by now.
Nuts. Too bad about your response to the shot.
Hope you’re feeling better this evening!
Hurray for the weekend!
This is not the perfume that I’ve been reaching for the most this summer but its among my favorites. I think one more time and my 15 ml decant will be thunked.
L’Artisan Un Air de Bretagne it is today 🙂
This and Les Brumes from Ormaie should really join my collection…
It seems Brumes has really become a favorite for you!
Well, you haven’t bought a birthday perfume, have you? And that was waaay waaay back in February.
Love Mimosa was my late birthday perfume. And also shared with you <3
Wearing Taif from a sample today. Gorgeous rose. Very tempted to buy a bottle, there’s a sale.. but worried with the economical crisis here in Spain so I’ll just stick to all the perfume I’ve got.
Yes!! I’ve gone through a couple samples of Taif….
I was just mulling over a bottle of Ta’if for this fall, as I recently came across a very old sample and had forgotten how much I liked it. Will check out the sale, but I’m in the same boat with work issues here in the US. Maybe a decant to celebrate cooler temps in September.… thanks for the reminder and heads up on the sale!
OJ Ta’if?! Absolutely swoonworthy stuff! I happily own a bottle, have drained a bottle, and now keep a back-up, too. It’s one I don’t want to live without.
You are tempting me!
It’s really lovely sprayed lavishly. It’s nice to have enough. Just sayin. ?
You smell great!
My summer staple is Eau de Rochas, but I’m wearing Iris Cendre today.
Read yesterday’s comments this morning and just have to mention that I also drive a Honda Fit (though it’s called a Honda Jazz here), 2010 model and have not had ANY prolems at all in the ten years that I’ve had it. I once landed up in a flash flood and water came up to my windows, but I just kept my foot on the gas and luckily a couple of good Samaritans helped to get the car quickly onto dry ground. My little warrior just kept going. If you like the fuel economy of the Jazz/Fit, but would like a bit more oomph, the Citroen C4 Cactus would be a good fit.
Happy Eid to those celebrating.
Grew up driving Hondas and Toyotas — best cars ever. You can’t kill ’em.
Yes, my Fit has been exceptionally reliable! I haven’t tried it in a flash flood, though. Yikes!
Not sure that Citroen sells cars in the US anymore. It’s been ages since I’ve even heard of them.
My three heavy-rotation scents this summer have been DSH Beach Roses (finally got a FB after going through samples and a mini bottle), CBIHP A Room with a view (same!), and SMN Roses. Today it’s A Room with a View, which suits the damp post-rain weather and all its soil-y smells!
I would love to be able to try those – just a pity that the DSHs and the CBs are so difficult to get outside the US.
I’m commando by doctor’s orders this morning — scent free and on my way to my minor surgery appointment. I hope to be home by midday and able to shower and spray on something properly summery and rejoiceful of turning *that* particular page.
Definitely under the category “Good to have it over with”
Good luck!
Good luck and big hugs.
Thinking of you this morning, Isabella. May all go well and you heal quickly.
Good luck, hope all goes well and you can enjoy the weekend.
Hope you’re home and resting, Isabella!
Hope that you are home after a successful procedure and enjoying some perfume now.
Well, lemmings everywhere! I want to be on that little boat in the Mediterranean, and I have just spread some love at Mandy Aftel’s site, ordering Ancient Resins and a handful of EDP samples. SOTD (for CP credit!) is Carthusia 1681, definitely my most-visited bottle since this summer officially began. Lavender, iris, bergamot, and something a bit woody – breathing deeply here.
No scent twins for me and yes, more lemmings! I have to do better about really making a list and sticking to it. Cheers on the Afteliers!
Wouldn’t it be nice to be on that boat? Or, really, nearly any boat on nearly any water. I miss water.
SOTD: Couleur Vanille with a dab of Mandarine Basilic which is what I’m reaching for most this summer as my husband loves it! I just wish it didn’t need to be replied every hour.
Joy! it’s Friday! Looking at the weather report for next week, my week off, is kind of depressing as it shows rain, rain, and more rain. Always a possibility it will simply be overcast and maybe even some sun peeking through, but disappointed nonetheless.
Just finished a great book — The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle — so need to figure out what to bring with me should we be stuck inside. Any good mystery recs? Especially enjoy historical mystery 🙂
I read that one recently and had alot of trouble keeping track of what was going on at any given moment! Have you read The Historian? You might like it
Thank you! And it’s available at my library 😉
If you haven’t already discovered and blown through the Phryne Fisher mystery series by Kerry Greenwood, it is highly recommended. They are set in Melbourne AZ in late 1928 (for the most part), and are meticulously researched – every so often there will be a reference to something that I can’t stop myself from looking up to see if it actually existed in 1928, and haven’t discovered a misstep yet.
Will check these out! Thanks.
I recall enjoying “the hangman’s daughter” by Oliver Poetzsch (German author) – it has now become a whole series of murder mysteries! Set in medieval Germany, and was a fun, well-paced read.
For non murder mystery but the same time period, I really enjoyed “Tyll” by Daniel Kehlmann. It’s literary fiction and a bit more complex, with shifting timelines and some magical realism.
Have been wearing No 5 L’Eau to death again this summer, but also have worn quite a bit of Hermes Eau de Neroli Dore and a bit of SMN Melograno, although something in it rubs me the wrong way after a bit of drydown and I often regret it. I’m wondering if the body oil or other scented bath products may give the effect I love without the drydown issue? It is SO lovely for the first 25 minutes or so… any suggestions on something similar?
Also recently tried the BeautyPie fragrances and am enjoying my sample of LOVE as a no-brainer, pretty default day scent.
We intersect on the Neroli Dore 🙂
Summer in a bottle! I just wished it lasted a bit longer.… I may need to spring for the balm to layer.
No. 5 L’Eau is soooo good.
It is!
Oh surprise, I am in Bulgari blue tea again…
??
I have been wearing it almost every day late in the afternoons. You smell wonderful!
This is my top summer favourite too.
My two go-to summer fragrances are Fiori di Capri and OJ Frangipani. I added Replica Beach Walk this year.
But…I’m going to wear Shalimar Cologne again today. It’s a new shiny object in my cabinet so it must be worn.
Heading out to Petco. We need to try a new litter. For some reason the clay clumping stuff is adhering to our little old lady. Poor thing has a cement butt that we have to keep cleaning. Hoping a non-clay new litter will be acceptable to her and Agnes.
In the realm of bad customer service, I called and then sent an email to Erborian. I ordered a product from their website and received a confirmation. I clicked to check the status, since it had been a week. They cancelled the order without notifying me. A phone call revealed it was out of stock…even though it shows in stock. No notification to me. After, I clicked on their customer service email link to send an email complaint. It kicked back as undeliverable! Is there really any excuse for that kind of silliness in technology today? But…$$ saved, so that’s ultimately okay.
Due to my lung issues, I have used the “Feline Pine” cat litter the last 15 years (no dust). It can take a bit for kitties to get used to a different texture of litter (slowly swapping it out), but I have not had problems with it after transitioning. I don’t have super-longhaired kitties, though, so I can’t speak to being an issue or not.
I’d love to move to this. The dust drives me nuts. We will see.
Feline Pine was one of the ones I purchased
I hope you found something that passes the kitty test and improves the situation! They can be so finicky about the weirdest things.
I love Feline Pine – once cats become accustomed to it, it’s worked quite well.
OOO!! Shalimar cologne..which bottle did you get?
It’s the Eau de Cologne bottle. The older looking bottle (the cologne that says 1925 on Fragrantica) I had no idea what the difference (juice-wise) would be between that and the newer 2015 bottle. If there is a difference, I’m happy to continue exploring. I may have fallen down a Shalimar rabbit hole.
You will smell wonderful. Late to the party re: kitties. I am impressed with Arm & Hammer Cloud Control. It really is not dusty, the kitties took to it right away, and it has a faint but pleasant smell. I just could not take the dust of the natural clay litters, and kits didn’t like some of the non-clays we tried. I have no affiliation!
No recommendations for kitty litter, just wishes that your search works out and your old lady kitty no longer has “cement butt”!
Ooh, I just got a sample of Fiori di Capri with my order from Beautyhabit! What do you think of it? Details please!
I like it a lot. Clean, soapy, a bit of carnation spice. It just smells like I would imagine a beach area in Capri would smell.
You smell soooo good.
Actually, I don’t have a summer staple in the usual sense this year. Instead what I have been doing in the last couple of months was to make the best of the virus-induced necessity of working from home and to finally go through all the various samples that awaited testing without having to worry if the scents are office-appropriate. So for today’s community project I decided to just continue in the same vein – with Berdoue’s Bora Bora on the left and Schwarzlose’s Trance on the right.
Any winners today?
… not really. But then over the weeks there have already been way too many scents I put on my wishlist, so I suppose my purse is quite happy with Friday’s results 🙂 .
I know the feeling!
Some Berdoues scents are among my favorites for summer. I didn’t know about Bora Bora. I hope you liked it. 🙂
Hello friends, I’m wearing Camel for my birthday! We are off to eat coffee and bagels in a park to celebrate 🙂
Happy birthday!
Happy bday!!!!
Happy Birthday!
Happy birthday and yay for bagels!
Happy Birthday!
Happy birthday and happy weekend, Koyel!
Happy birthday!’
Happy Birthday!
Many happy returns.
Happy Birthday and best wishes for a wonderful year ahead!
happy birthday! hope your whole day was delicious. 😀
Happy birthday and wishing you a great year ahead.
Happy Birthday!
Happy Scented Birthday! Will you celebrate all weekend? ?????
HBD!
Happy birthday, Koyel!
Yay for your birthday! And you smell super!
Happy day! You smell great!
Belated happy birthday! 🙂 Well, you’ve still got a couple of hours of birthday left. 🙂
Today is the first day of Eid and it’s a tradition to wear perfume to the prayer service so I spritzed on some Coromandel to attend on Zoom – it was my first Zoom religious anything and I have to say I kinda liked it! No jostling for a parking space ?
I got the Big Chop yesterday- went from very very long hair to a very short bob cut. I have never cut my hair short before and was worried I would cry but I love it!
Happy Friday everyone!
Happy hairdo and Happy Eid!
Happy Eid!
Woohoo on the new ‘do! I did that last year and no regrets! It’s lovely to have less hair to manage day to day.
Happy Eid and congrats on loving the Big Chop!
Eid Mubarak!
Eid el Muburak!
And hurray for a new cut- it must feel so nice!
You smell wonderful and enjoy your new bob!
Wow, congrats on being brave enough for a big hair change, and happy Eid!
Thanks all for the Eid and hair wishes!
Happy Eid and enjoy your new hair.
Happy Eid and enjoy your new hair. I admire your bravery in the Big Chop, don’t think I could do it.
Thanks Laila – I did feel brave doing it but now I only wish I had done it earlier. I have had super long hair all my life and am risk-averse when it comes to my tresses but this was definitely a good change for me. I feel like a new yasmina 🙂
Eid Mubarak to you, yasmina, and congratulations on the big chop. I cut my hair to a chin length bob a couple months ago. I love the easiness of it.
oh! I wore Kismet in the evening a few days ago. It’s beautiful. 😀 Thank you for sharing.
I am so glad you are liking Kismet! It never agreed with me in the end – some people call it the Shalimar for those who don’t like Shalimar, but I don’t like Shalimar and still couldn’t get totally on board with it.
Eid Mubarak!
Eid Mubarak, Yasmina, and congrats on the new hair!
Wishing you good health and peace, happy Eid
Eid Mubarak!
Happy Eid and congrats on your new haircut!
Happy Eid, yasmina! I’ve been attending services via livestream so that’s anonymous. Funny you should mention Zoom and religious something…this was how the Rosary Brigade was held. The ex-friend sent a message through a mutual friend that I am “welcome back” to the Rosary Brigade because it is not for her to prevent anyone from participating in prayer because she is just a vessel ?. Thanks, but no thanks: such a faker.
Grrr… At that lady! If she really believed that, she would call and apologize.
I think you should start your own Rosary Brigade!
LOL. I am not Roman Catholic so that would actually be frowned upon ?
Yay for a new ‘do!
Happy Eid and yay to short haircuts. Been rocking my pixie from my 40s through my 60s.
My “summer” groove has been wearing fall/winter wonders. At 58 degrees outside (AND it is gray) I’m warming up in the last of Hajusuuri’s Coromandel edt. I smell lovely in my hooded sweater, thick socks, and long jeans. Brrrrr….
Where has summer gone?!! I’m sorry – I would be so mad
No kidding. I bought two fancy, tall fans in May, ready for when I would start to fling open all the doors and windows first thing in the morning. The fan in my office is now shoved into a corner next to a bookcase, almost totally unused! Sniff!
We have had lovely, sunny afternoons for walks, etc. And given the, well you know, PANDEMIC, it is a bit shallow to whine about the weather… but my summer favorite perfumes are languishing!
It always okay to whine about the weather imho….I certainly do alot of whining in the winter!
Coromandel is lovely.
I haven’t yet tried the newer, edp, but the edt sparkles!
Keep warm! How’s the writing goimg? Did you catch up?
Working on a fun project for my real job but feeling a little put out by my moonlighting. I have to interview doctors . . . and so far no one has responded to my outreach!
Are you working on a new novel? Adventures of hill bunnies?
If it’s OK for me to gripe about heat & humidity, then it’s OK for you to grouse about unseasonably cool (cold?) summer weather!
You can give me the 58 degrees anytime. Glad you enjoyed the Coromandel EDT!
I was inspired by Bois de Jasmin’s summer favorites to give EL Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia another try.
I love the dry-down, the opening is a little “bright”(?) for me. I tend to like tuberoses with more chew… Moon Bloom is a favorite.
TGIF!
Have you tried Paul Kiler’s TNT? Tuberose with a capital T!
Haven’t tried it but it sounds fabulous!
I’m wearing Mure and Musc today because it just felt right. Kind of a bright happy fragrance. My most worn this summer has been St Clair Eve but I wanted a change today. I’m on Facebook and every day it’s been bringing up memories and I’ve been getting images from my trips to Australia, Cracow, Seville, and Korea. No travel this July, alas. And I was scheduled to be visiting the ranch of a very generous friend in Oregon starting today. But I am healthy with plenty of food and an air-conditioned house, with a pretty ginger kitty on my lap. Things are fine.
I am so sorry you won’t be visiting your friend this summer- ranches in Oregon can be glorious places. But I am happy you are safe and well, with a kitty.
We have no great plans for this summer but a “staycation” in the state of NY..
I’ve been very thankful for A/C and kitties, too! My summer has been rather swampy.
What Jalapeno said, including kittehs (my Billy Bob 2.0 and the 2 as uet unnamed kittehs).
Will there be a naming contest for these kittehs?
Diptyque Vetyverio
You smell great. One of my friends wears it a lot, so i also have a lovely association with it ?
Funnily my most worn scent this summer is Roma, so I wore it again today. It’s such a nice no brainer. Second and third most worn scents are Terracotta and Untitled L’Eau.
Came home to a dinner of Cole slaw, broccoli salad with bacon and Hummus, now I am waiting for the wine to get cold…
Have a nice weekend!
Yum…that’s a perfect summer evening dinner.
I´m wearing the ultimate tropical escape perfume, and escape to the real tropics that is. The wonderful and strange Manoumalia. I love it so much and it´s great in the heat.
You smell lovely and yes i get such tropical vibes from it. It makes me long for an exotic cocktail and a hammock ?
Just peace and quiet and no Covid would be nice!
The beautifully strange Manoumalia…have a wonderful weekend Austenfan!
Thanks, you too!
I want to look it up. It sounds terrific. Have a happy weekend.
It’s supposed to smell of fragrea a flower that grows in Nouméa. And you are a lot closer to that place than I am.
I don’t know if it can still be bought, the LesNez is still functioning though.
Just checked and it’s fagrea. I’ve also found you some links to a couple of reviews:

Hope you have a good weekend as well!
Its hot today!!! 34 C 93F
I am in Alsace, France right now for a long weekend getaway.
I wore Eau des Merveilles this morning. I just had a shower and now I am wearing Shaal Nur!
Two of my summer favourites.
I love the Alsace region, whereabouts are you?
Did you happen to drive through Antwerp province? If so were there any checks at the border?
I am in Barr!
No there were no checks at the Belgian border near Antwerp ?
Good, I’m heading to Luxemburg next week for a brief visit.
I can’t remember ever visiting Barr, but I know the area quite well. It’s lovely and very much its own thing. I love Kaisersberg and once spent a wonderful week in Bergheim. There used to be an excellent jam maker there. And for really good eaux-de-vie Steige is the place to visit. Oh and another excellent jam producer is in Ranrupt, confitures de Climont.
Thanks!
Kaysersberg is lovely. Will go there again tomorrow, to revisit a winery.
But that jam sounds appealing as well.
Such a wonderful area, also love the castle ruins you can bump into when you go for a good long walk.
Eau de Merveilles is lovely. Have a nice weekend in Alsace
Thank you! ?
Been all over the place trying to go through some my samples and decants this summer, with mixed results! Favorite go-to for the summer has been Yosh Sottile so far, and EldO Vierges et Toreros.
Today, wearing some of a decant of Be Layered F@ck Me which is a terrible, terrible name for a fragrance but I like it despite that. The vanilla does not pummel everything else into submission 10 minutes after being on my skin but is actually a base note, which for me is a win!
Happy Friday!
I agree with you, that IS a terrible perfume name.
Apparently it’s a near clone of Paco Rabanne Olympea, which I didn’t know when the decant was available. At that rate I’ll just give Olympea a test for any full bottle consideration… I have a sailor’s mouth, but don’t particularly feel the need to support chauvinistic branding in perfumery, and that perfume name just cuts a little too close to that line for me…
This brand has a ton of reviews on YouTube. Apparently they are a clone house, but also have a few originals. I agree with you on the name. It’s discusting marketing.
It’s Friday!
1) Am again in Cap Neroli- and I will be receiving my third bottle from Beauty habit in a few days. I know some of you did not like that mint/menthol note, but that is what make this perfect, especially in baking hot heat. I was going to go to France to visit friends and enjoy the hot summer; I have this scent & my health instead, and that is fine.
2) Taking Mama Cat to Banfield and will simply pay out of pocket. It’s so much easier. And they told me that they will cut a notch in one of the Mama Cat’s ears to let others know she has been spayed. Did you know that cats, like other mammals, can get pregnant while nursing and healing from childbirth? I didn’t!
So generous of you to do this!
It was just the thing to do! And it will be good for the neighborhood.
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/02/science/wallabies-kangaroos-pregnant.html
Did you know that kangaroos/wallabies have two uteruses? So they can get pregnant straight after giving birth or in some cases be continously pregnant. Amazing eh?
Female ducks have multiple vaginas, so they can choose whose sperm actually impregnates their eggs. Sorry if that comment is NSFW. . .
It all seems so exhausting…why can’t they just have a nice cup of tea and a cuddle? Would breakfast in bed once a year be too much to ask???!!!
THIS!
Well, multiple vaginas? Wow. That is mind blowing!
That comment is not safe for anyplace 😉
*blinks meme*
WOWZERS! I did not know that! But that must take a toll on the mom!
I can see the evolutionary advantages of this- Australia, after all, but WHEW.
Feeling your — pain? melancholy? on the canceled trip to France! I just posted in my blog that I had taken advantage of the recent Beautyhabit discount to buy two scents I had hoped to buy in Paris this summer: Nicolai’s Week-End in Normandy, and Les Parfums de Rosine’s le Muguet de Rosine. I’m delighted with them, and they will have to do until I can travel again. You smell wonderful in Cap Neroli!
I need to check your blog, and also check out Weekend in Normandy!
It’s really wonderful what you did for the mother cat, catching her and paying for the vet. She’ll have a much better life.
SOTD = Chanel No.19 EDP
If you predicted this will be my pick, you win ?.

Shout out to enabler lillyjo who let me know that Hermès L’Ombre des Merveilles is now available at a popular online site. A bottle is on its way to me and it is perfumath free with the discount code!
In other news, when I went to check out of Life is Good, the payment section included a line item for an extra $5 donation to some organization. I didn’t want to donate, come to find out that the drop down box did not have a zero or thanks, but no thanks option. I contacted them online, got an acknowledgement and waited and waited for an answer. Several days later, there was an email from the CEO saying they were overwhelmed with orders and if I got a message saying the order is processing, it is indeed in-progress and will be fulfilled. ?. That was so far off as an even remote answer to my question so you basically just told me my inquiry was not important enough to be reviewed and answered appropriately. In any case, there was a discount code for 25% off…maybe I’ll take advantage of it…
For those on the path of Hurricane Isaias, stay safe!
I really liked my sample of L’Ombre! Enabler!
Mine will be a large sample ?.
Oh, I missed the release of L’Ombre des Merveilles (and that name is not great for search engine optimization, hah!) I have and love the original, plus Eau Claire and L’Ambre, so I’ll have to sample this.
I love the entire line. The bottles look very nice as well!
I haven’t heard of this Hermes, but I like L’ambre
Me neither until our shopfrance friend mentioned it.
Looking forward to seeing the bottle on IG! You should line them all up!
Ha! Maybe…they are different sizes thOugh. I may still get the smaller one when Sephora has a sale.
No. 19 EdP is probably the closest you get to a signature scent, isn’t it?
Yes it is. I actually don’t have one that I wore the most because of the different projects, both NST’s and my own.
You smell amazing!
Kilian blah blah blah Princess today…ginger, green tea and marshmallow.
Sincere thanks for all the supportive comments yesterday…I come for the perfume chit-chat but I stay for love.?You all are amazing.
?
Smellin’ like a blah blah blah princess!! Must be good!!
I should have named my SOTM “blah blah blah Fico di Amalfi!” The names can be just way too long.
LOL “blah, blah” names! I don’t know who thinks those names are “cool.” Maybe it is to make a scent flanker-proof?
I hope that you are feeling a bit better about things today, She-ra.
That’s the royal title I now want! “Blah blah blah Princess”. Has a nice ring to it!
Summer favs include AG Eau d’Hadrien; AG Eau di Sud; PDE
Corsica Furiosa ;Heretic Dirty Lemon.
I’m clearly not following the CP; wearing Chambre Noire. What a cuddly, musky vanillic thing! Summer weight comfort scent. I don’t remember thinking much of this one on the sniffa in January with Calypso, but it evidently blooms better in the heat!
Well, I totaled up what I wore in July, and it’s no wonder I don’t have a go-to summer scent. I used up 39 samples, 3 decants and a full bottle body spray. Seven samples caught my attention and made me want more, and only one of those was a traditional summer scent. I’ve known that winter/heavier fragrances bloom well in the hot months, but I keep relearning this, it seems!
After the shower, I’ll chime in with you wonderful people and wear No. 5 L’Eau. It may be awhile as I’m still enjoying the drydown of CN! ❤️
I have a bottle of Chambre Noir and must try it now in the heat!
I am in awe of your “sample disposal program”!
I also have a bottle of Chambre Noir…I may be calypso’s twin tomorrow!
In Freschiiissimo from Hilde Solianil. Haven’t been wearing much perfume this summer because of mask wearing but this has been a summer fave for years
I’ve been wearing a lot of Guerlain Homme lately. Not that it’s my favorite for the summer, just that I’ve been reaching for it.
Nice choice.
SotD = Atelier Grand Neroli
from a sample, my fourth or fifth sample at least.
I think Grand Neroli is the scent from this line I would most likely buy in full bottle form. It’s great in the heat and wonderful all year round.
I love Bois Blonds, Cedrat Enivrant, and Orange Sanguine too. But, alas, when I finally decided to go FB, I found that the woody base used in these had been changed and no longer agreed with my skin. Boo. I dream of finding old original formula bottles from Atelier Colognes at a yard sale someday.
Also wearing a lot of Berdoues Assam of India, Le Couvent des Minimes Eau des Minimes, and original 4711 or the Lavender &Thyme flanker. Refreshing! All of these I reach for without much thought or effort, a lovely habit.
Looking forward to reading everyone’s summer/winter favorites. Happy FriYAY, y’all!
Nice summer choices! I have the same issue with Atelier Cologne – I don’t like the woody base on me, and I find it prominent in almost every scent I’ve tried.
we have similar noses 😀 the old Atelier Cologne base was subtly different, it was smoother for me. I had old and new samples for comparison and the difference was pretty consistent.
I still like the current Trefle Pur, Oolong Infini, and Vanille Insensee. They didn’t seem to change as much.
happy FriYAY
for sure! hope your Saturday gives you some yays too. 🙂
Interesting about the Atelier Cologne scents. Do you have a guess as to when the reformulation happened?
I think it might have been when they were bought or taken over by one of the big beauty brands, maybe L’Oreal? It was at least three or four years ago.
Smelling great this summer!
thank u, KellyC! summer is a lovely time for fragrance. 🙂
Chanel Paris-Venise. I think it’s a great hot summer scent! Other favorites are Bulgari au the noir, Jardin sur le Nil, and of course L’artisan the pour un ete. Also la chasse! Some of my hot summer scents, alas, are also tied to my work (Nil and Bulgari), and since my work (or non work) has been such a roller coaster this summer (lost the job, told it was gone forever, enrolled in grad school, now being told they need us after all, but just as one-off, and with much lower pay, etc. etc.) – some of those scents I’m steering clear of for the time being. Happy Friday!!
I’m so sorry you’re being put through the wringer by your former employer. Hopefully you are enjoying grad school! ?
What a mess this year has been ! Sending you my best wishes and of course, you smell wonderful ?
Those Chanel Paris scents are so good. You reminded me I’ve neglected my decant of Paris-Riviera. It’s now on my desk for tomorrow.
Sorry about the employment situation, everything seems complicated these days. I’m waiting to hear from my school, not sure what I’ll be doing in the fall, but I should know more in a couple weeks. Sigh.
Oh no – I am so sorry about the job!! That’s terrible. It’s such an uncertain time although methinks that there is also some manufactured austerity when it comes to certain sectors, like mine in higher education – “never let a crisis go to waste” and all that….
“manufactured austerity!” Indeed.
for sure – our institution upped everyone’s teaching load citing the pandemic but this was clearly an excuse. In the meantime, they eliminated our little cohort.
Here’s hoping for clarity for job situations – I hope yours will be soon!
Thanks for all the kind comments – I’ll find out more Monday or Tuesday, I suppose. Hopefully, the fact that there’s not a lot of time before the semester begins gives us some leverage!
Sorry to hear about your job situation… that bites!
Boo hiss on the job situation.
All of those are some good ones!
Super late but smelling great in Cuir de Lancôme, another refrigerator rescue!
https://instagram.com/stories/vantasticviews/2365421598886297192?utm_source=ig_story_item_share&igshid=tm9vc6t5fudz
I would love to visit your fridge!
you have the best fridge ever
Sounds like it was a cool choice 😉 ;P
Yes, you do smell great!
Hello everyone, late to the party! My SOTD is Coco body lotion with a dab of the extrait.
I went on a four-mile walk, met a lovely neighbor walking her newly adopted dog Luna. Shy pup but Luna apparently liked me, she promptly plunked her tuchus on my feet and leaned in. There’s nothing better than furry baby hugs! 😀
Happy Friday everyone!
Awww, how sweet! I love dogs a bunch, but the leaners, well, they are super precious. ❤️❤️??❤️❤️
Well, I was carrying deli meats, so she might have been petitioning for a snack!
😯
Nawwww . . . 😉
Aww!
I admire your daily walks.
When I lived in SF I missed the cool air walking through the presidio, all foggy and crisp.
I started late, but I really needed a walk today. It cleared the cobwebs out of my brain.
You smell wonderful. Maybe the pup liked the lunch meat and the Coco?
I’m thinking yes, she did!
She was VERY sweet. Her owner was shocked how calm she was around me.
Eau Claire des Merveilles and Eau de Rochas, I’m wearing both and expect to wear more of them as summer unfolds further.
another yay for Merveilles! You smell beautiful. 😀
I often smelled Eau de Rochas during a hot summer visit to Paris. It is lovely and distinctive. Beautiful bottle too.
Thank you Tiffane?
I’m half-french my love for Eau de Rochas started in Paris too.
I’ve never smelled the Eau Claire, I don’t think.
It’s very pretty, a touch of powderiness, oranges, woody amber, more discreet than the other Merveilles. I love them all.
My choice for today’s cp is Hermes Eau des Merveilles. I’ve loved this fragrance from the first time I tried it and it’s one of my top 5 favorites, not just a summer favorite. I’ve tried it a la Robin (layered with Eau Claire des Merveilles) but I greatly prefer the notes I love in the original EdM – orange/green/woody/salty amber – straight without the powdery floral of the Claire, which I do wear occasionally on its own. I do love all of the Merveilles series and have one for each season.
The July heat has finally left us and we’re in for a stretch of reasonable 80 degree temps and reasonable humidity. Highlights of my week were a visit from my son and grandkids ❤️and several ‘outdoor’ (enjoyed from our screened porch) virtual livestream concerts. Looking forward this weekend to a local pond walk – finally a ‘real’ event we can enjoy (with masks and social distancing) since it’s outdoors. Happy weekend to all!
yay for Merveilles! you smell wonderful. I adore EdM 😀
Ha twin! ?
I just ordered a sample of Elixir – looking forward to compare it with edm and ambre!
My summer scents have been the usuals–California Reverie, Mediterraneo, Mandarine Basilic, Rhubarb Ecarlate. Today I grabbed on of last summer’s favorites that I haven’t worn much this season, Songes. I am coming to the end of my little black bottle but I have a backup.
After refusing his breakfast yesterday, Bertie threw up and a few minutes later was meowing because he was hungry, now I’m sorry I thought he was being fussy. All is well today.
I also have a little black bottle of songs
Songes
Little black bottle of songs actually sounds pretty cool!
i hope Bertie manages to meep his food down today. Poor thing.
Poor Bertie! Hope that he kept his food down today.
All great summer picks!
I’m wearing Reem Acra today – I really enjoy this one, particularly for the first hour. It’s a little like Casmir in that regard. Yummy, but recedes into the background after a little bit.
Glad you mentioned it. I am going to try Reem Acra again! First time I tried it, it seemed to just disappear; second time I liked it but didn’t give it a real test. The bottle is so pretty.
https://www.odt.co.nz/news/dunedin/albatross-chick-need-name
It’s Saturday and August and drizzly and warm so instead of gardening I am planning to go to the beach and check out the albatrosses and seals ( music Peter Green/Fleetwood Mac Albatross) One of the chicks needs a name before she takes off ( they fly to the ocean below South America and don’t return to land for 4 years, I think) and so if you fancy entering the ‘name the albatross’ competition go for it. Winter hasn’t been very dramatic this year in terms of snow or frost and the perfumes I have worn most often are Copper, sherbert cinnamon, Tauer Sotto la Luna Tuberose and Songes. Kind of sunny, uplifting scents rather than cosy, comforting ones.
R.I.P Peter Green.
Yay for a non dramatic winter!
Happy Friday, everyone – so many fragrant ideas! Submitted for (partial since I didn’t wear it today?) CP points: Mon Guerlain Florale. It and EL Intuition were the only scents I’d worn more than twice according to my not too careful records. Since MGF got a rare co-worker compliment, that tipped the scales.
My sotd is Carven L’eau de toilette.
It’s green and watery. I bought this last winter with spring and summer in mind. I’ve worn it quite a bit.
I got the air conditioning bill today, holy cow! Can’t say I wasn’t expecting it but dang, I can’t wait to turn it off. My favorite time of year is when it’s too cool for AC and too hot for the furnace ?
So thankful for A/C right now! I had thunderstorms late last night again, and was hoping we wouldn’t lose power!
OMG, the thunderstorm was fierce…I don’t even know how I fell asleep with that racket!
Ours was definitely up too! Got ours yesterday.
Third rainy Friday in a row. However, unlike the previous 2 Fridays. the rain did NOT stick around all day! Mr. Sun has graced my neighborhood with his presence after all. ?
SOTD = Rock Crystal by Olivier Durbano. I have been using incense samples quite a bit this summer, and decided to pick one that I had been enjoying recently. So my best of Summer 2020 is “Incense”. More incense samples are on deck!
It’s hard for me to imagine incense working in high heat, but I trust you!
I find them cooling in a way when it’s hot. But incense is a 4-season note for me… I can find one for almost any kind of weather.
That’s so interesting. I never reach for them in the summer but now I ant to give them a try.
Have you tried Chris Rusak Io?
No I haven’t.
Bronze Goddess of course! I wear it at least once a week, usually on weekends/pool days. Happy Friday, friends!
Enjoy your weekend KellyC!
Bronze Goddess and TF Noir de Noir are scents I associate with you, KellyC.
If I had to pick one, it would be that classic, Jicky EDT. I find it very soothing and comforting, but also fresh. I wore tons of rose-focused perfumes in May, when I did a daily post on “Roses de Mai”, and I did enjoy that very much, but June and July have been more eclectic and varied. Jicky EDT has been a constant, though! A runner-up would be Cartier’s Carat, another fresh floral. I wore Amouage Beach Hut Woman a lot on our one-week beach trip; you can read all about that on my blog!
I haven’t been able to wear perfumes much this summer, but my bedtime scent last night was Hermes Eau de Pamplemousse Rose. If I were able to wear perfumes whenever I wanted, I’d likely be going for citrus-scented fragrances a lot of the time this summer.
I was glad it rained so that today I didn’t need to water my plants that are outside in pots. Not that the rain cut the humidity…oof, that felt tropical.
