It's Monday and World Industrial Design Day. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm trying to wake up in Annick Goutal Mandragore. It's a struggle today.
Reminder: on 7/3, wear a perfume with ylang ylang, if you have one.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2020, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Buongiorno-
Yesterday we had our first dining out experience in NYC, at a Turkish resturant . Interesting experience.
SOTD Guerlain Mahora
cappuccino made at home with almond milk
I’m goofy enough to want to go and sit at a table in a parking spot.
You smell nice.
It was really nice to be served, I will say that much.
Mahora is nice and has ylang ylang for the CP
Love to hear more about your dining out experience, do share!
My daughter and I dined out on Saturday and agree that it was nice to be served. And not cook!?
And even nicer not do have to do the dishes either! ??
I’m living vicariously through you. My sister and I discussed eating out but ultimately decided we’re not yet comfortable with the notion.
One thing I liked about the Turkish place is that they had glass screens in between each table and the tables were not close together. That felt safer to me, as an extra precaution.
Ohhh, Mahora is glorious stuff. *sigh*
Indeed! I must get my bottle out!
Did that discontinue this scent?
sorry they, as in Guerlain
L2SM – I couldn’t find it on Neiman Markups or the Guerlain website.
I may have a few ideas if you’re interested in a bottle.
Let me know your ideas..
I see some on evil bay
L2SG – Ebay is an option, I’ve purchased a few hard to find Guerlains at the Guerlain Boutique at the Breaker’s in Palm Beach, FL (561) 653-6383. They usually have a few bottles of the hard to find stuff.
There’s a store in St Helena CA called Brav, owner’s name is Jola. Phone number is (707) 963-4057. She has a lot of vintage/specialty perfumes, and a huge amount of Guerlains, Patou, and Amouage perfumes. I purchased my vintage Jicky PdT from her for $90.
The Yelp reviews aren’t positive, but my experiences were good, I’ve purchased from her several times, both clothing and perfumes, I never had issues.
She’s like Andre’ from Jacquelline Perfumery on Geary St, she’s a little brusque until you get to know her.
Pretty sure that Mahora is discontinued. Guerlain “re-issued” it as Mayotte, but although they smell similar, they are not the same to my nose.
I love Turkish food! So nice you could go out! Things are safer in NYC now, sadly, more so than here.
Turkish food!!!! You have excellent taste, I am jealous.
Sample testing -right arm, half a sample vial of California Reverie, just to make sure I get the full experience! Left arm, same overdose of Azemour. Initial comparison, CR very pretty, Aze heavier, not sure it’s a summer scent. 2 hours- CR sort of sharp, I am not liking it so much now. Aze now more floral spicy and rich, I like this very much. 3.5 hours, both mellowing, both OB. Cr is OB with leaves and twigs, Aze is OB with spicy soapiness. Both very nice, I suspect they are complementing one another. I will have to wear them separately to clarify which each one smells like on its own.
Contemplating my ylang ylang options for later in the week…
I have never smelled Azemour but have a decant of CR.
Sounds like you have had a great testing day
So interesting how perfumes behave differently on different people’s skin. I get leaves and twigs (and orange rind, and dirt, and tree bark) from Azemour, and no soapiness at all!
I love love love Azemour, but I do not classify it in my mind as a summer citrus/hot weather perfume. It feels more like a proper perfume that works as well for a dinner out on a fall evening as it does for a meeting with colleagues in a linen suit.
But also the perfect perfume to put on in winter to pretend it’s summer 🙂
California Reverie is all about jasmine on me. Azemour is more orange / citrus fruits than floral and it has body to stand up to even the hottest day. Interesting about all the different takes on the same perfume!
Thank you all for the interesting comments! The art is perfumery is displayed in all the different reactions to these two well done perfumes.
Just applied a drop of 24 Faubourg to get in the Ylang Ylang mood.
Oh, I did not realize 24 Faubourg has ylang. You smell fabulous!
I didn’t know either.
I loved your response to my beehive comment! Very poetic!
At the vet now with my dog. I am wearing the remnants of Lyric. Truth be told, I just want to get the results and treatment plan and get Jake home. I will be wearing a small dab of Courtesan when I shower.
Good luck with the results.
Best wishes for your pup!
Hope the vet’s visit goes fine.
More good wishes for your dog!
Good luck with he dog!
Hope your dog gets better soon
I hope that the vet visit went well and that you both are now home.
I hope everything went well at the vets.
Grès Cabochard edp — not the really dirty pre-nineties formulation but still leathery and no-nonsense. It’s a glum overcast day and this is perfect for it.
I’m a Cabochard fan. I like it more than Jolie Madame, which sometimes goes shrill on me. In both perfumes I have the older formulation, but sadly not vintage.
Starting ylang week in d’Erje by Rance 1795. It smells like a less sweet and less loud version of J’Adore. Very pretty in a quiet way. Ylang is listed, but I do not really notice it. I think it just makes this scent more ‘tropical’.
House twins: in Elise de Rance 1795 ?
Nice! Rance 1795 does not appear often in the comments.
Looking at the comments, I realized that there are more perfumes with ylang in my wardrobe than I thought.
The list of options I prepared before the start of this week:
Chanel No. 5 & L’Eau
Lush Jungle
Le Labo Ylang 49
Amouage Beloved
Rance 1795 d’Erje
Guerlain Samsara
Guerlain Terracotta
L’Artisan Oeillet Sauvage
Clinic Aromatics Elixir
I thought No. 22 and Liu had ylang but not according to Chanel and Guerlain websites. ?
Versed Keep it Supple body oil. Reasonably priced and has a very nice Ylang note.
In Jungle l’Elephant. Usually I get lots of cumin and tart mango. Today it went sweet very quickly, with lots of amber and I can even imagine that I am smelling the ylang and heliotrope listed in the notes.
Go ?!
Love this little elephant!
Love the Elephant. You smell great.
The Elephant is definitely on my must-try list!
Finishing my decant of Armani Prive Iris Celadon. I wore it almost every day late in the afternoons for the last couple of weeks and I enjoyed it immensely.
Having my second cup of coffee with few drops of almond extract.
Beautiful sunny, warm, breezy day!
Happy Monday! ?
Iris Celadon is ?.
I’ve been drinking my coffee with cardamom…without it, it feels naked.
Agree! I add a pinch of cardamom to my coffee everyday. Sometimes I add some extras like saffron, extracts, or a bit of rose or orange blossom water, but I always add cardamom! Enjoy! ☕
I tried Splendiris over the weekend. It was pretty but disappeared fast. Trying Iris Celadon next.
Beautiful weather twins today! Wasn’t it great? ???
It was gorgeous! Warm, not humid, breezy. It rained pretty hard this afternoon for about 20 minutes and then the sun came out again. Hope tomorrow is as great as it was today. ?????
I wanted something to offset a hot and muggy day, and reached for 4711 AC Lemon & Ginger. It went on like lemon pledge, and is almost completely gone 45 minutes in. Time to find something in my drawer at work.
I’m now wearing Montale Dark Purple.
Could not think of what AC was, but you mean 4711 Acqua Colonia I am sure?
Yes, that’s it. I rarely wear the Acqua Colonia line, although I have several. I don’t think I’ve worn the Lemon & Ginger in years. My favorite is the Rhubarb & Clary Sage, which smell good and lasts on my skin.
Nearly all the Acqua Colonias have the life span of a soap bubble: I think they’re definitely intended to be reapplied often. Of course this is also true of the original 4711.
Good morning NST!
I had such a good time yesterday reading Angela’s new book, Secret of the Blue Lily. What an engaging story! I could not put it down. It did not hurt of course that it was set in Paris, where I’m always happy to be transported. I wore L’Ame Perdue while reading it.
Today back to reality in Chanel Paris-Deauville.
I need to seek this book out! I read one other book of hers and really enjoyed it.
Am slogging through a recently released political memoir and it is killing me–literally, I feel light headed and nauseous every time I stop listening (I’m listening to it on Audible). Next on my book list is definitely Angela’s new book. Looking forward to it!!!! Women, Paris, a mystery that will be solved? Sounds lovely.
beautiful scent! I’m just starting Angela’s first book and love it, looking forward to reading the others!
I think Paris-Deauville was my favorite of the first 3 Chanel Les Eaux. I haven’t sniffed the others yet, but am not in a hurry. I have plenty of goodies in my sample stash.
A cool overcast Monday, wearing 4160 Tuesdays Centrepiece parfum honey edition.
Ah-ha! I’ve got my ylang-ylang on and did not plan this.
SOTD: Aqua Vitae Forte
We went from 90+ yesterday to 72 this morn. Do appreciate the drop in humidity but want those 90 temps for almost July!
You can have my 90 F temps any day. And I’ll take your 72 F ?
Regarding your comment above, I wholeheartedly recommend the book.
Cap Neroli. Who knew I was participating in CP until I checked notes after spraying…. I get more of what ElisaP describes as a parsley note, is that the rosemary? This is herbaceous to me…not white flowers. Maybe I just don’t know Neroli as a note well enough.
Had to retrieve an acorn twice this morning for Agnes. She got one out of the bowl and was chasing it around until I heard loud, complaining meowing. Generally means she’s lost the thing or can’t get at it.
Have a call today to provide a reference for a friend/former colleague. Via Zoom. Really? Now I have to put on makeup and look presentable. I’ve gotten used to no makeup because of masks. Wish this was just a regular phone call, but it’s important so I’ll play along.
I’ve not heard of doing a reference check via a Zoom call — how odd!
The no make-up look was working for me as well but lately, I’ve started back to doing my eyes and eyebrows a bit. Lipstick, which I love, I’ve not worn since March — what’s the point! I tried once and my husband said all he could smell on the mask even after washing was lipstick. So there’s that!
Eyebrows is the one thing I’ve continued to do fairly regularly. Mascara rarely. Lipstick never.
I miss lipstick! It makes a bigger difference than any other makeup and now I only wear it on Zoom.
I wonder what kind of a hit lipstick sales has taken the past 3 months.
I get a ton of parsley and no sweetness at all. I really love this scent, but my family doesn’t like it at all and one friend said it “didn’t really smell like perfume” to her – and this is my most polite friend!
Yay, ylang–can do this all week. Eau Premiere today.
Hey twin! We smell great!?
Maybe you can share some ylang ylang recommendations? I fear my collection is thin on the ground with ylang ylang ?
The no 5 iterations, Moonbloom, AdP Profumo, Alahine, Carnal Flower…will have to peruse my stash, no doubt there are many more from which to choose. It helps to have no aversion to BWFs!
Thank! I have a sample of Alahine somwhere…
Adding Alahine to my list! It’s another one I forgot.
Carnal Flower does not have ylang though (according to FM’s website)… But it does have ylanglike tropical accord.
Yeah, one can just wear all Chanel No. 5 flankers all week for this CP (plus Chanel no. 22).
Hi, please help me remember who did the limited edition release of a ylang ylang perfume titled something like :
“YY” or’ Y+Y’ or some such iteration. It was a square bottle, orange/yellow colored juice -was it Bogue? I have searched, I can’t find it but a well known NST’er has worn it and liked it.
I’m in Eau Premiere, which according to Fragrantica does have ylang ylang.
I slept like a rock last night! Man, did it feel good. It’s always hard to come back to work on a Monday after a fun weekend, especially in the summer.?But! Such is life.
Another one I can wear! I already have what I’m wearing for the week kinda sorta planned out but I am also taking inspiration from the comments!
I have a surprising number of fragrances with ylang ylang, although not necessarily front and center in the compositions.
SOTD = Lush Yog Nog Body Spray
Since it’s in an industrial cleaner bottle, I only wore 4 sprays ?. You have to like creamy sweet to like this and I do!
Home Goods opened up and it looked like the entire town showed up. Not really, but I waited 15 minutes to get in. I missed the place! The smaller aisles had one way signs but most people ignored them. Pretty much everyone had a mask on. The cashiers though mostly had their nose uncovered. And people who stood in line for the cashier also thought it meant you can pull down your mask (No – COVIDIOTS!). The woman in front of me also reached down inside the back of her pants and I almost lost it when the crack of her pasty b-tt came thisclose to being in view. As if this was not bad enough, she and her companion were picking up or touching stuff along the way – YUCK.
Happy Monday!
Mr. Spicebomb and I went into an estate sale yesterday afternoon and saw similar behavior. The sign outside said they would be enforcing social distancing, but we didn’t see it. I was heading downstairs and a guy began to walk right behind me. I thrust my arm out to force him to keep at least THAT much distance. I felt like I was in a pool of piranhas looking for meat.
That would irritate me to no end. Seriously people!
Yeah. I think it means we won’t be going to further estate sales. Not worth the risk or anxiety.
No indoor restaurant dining for either of us for a while. NJ’s governor has put that on pause indefinitely, thanks to what he called “knucklehead behavior”.
Okay, I’m in Unum Ennui Noir, and this is possibly the worst sample I’ve ever tried. It started out like a high school shower stall In desperate need of a cleaning. Seriously. As it blooms on my skin, it’s worse! It’s full on mildew. I’m giving it another half hour or so, maybe, but I think this one is a scrubber.
If anyone likes this, please tell me what my skin is doing wrong?!? I’m scared to try anything else by Unum. ?
I always sniff the Unums when I see then in a shop. Never been tempted. But loads of folks here love their Lavs…
I read up on Lavs, and it does sound lovely. EN went through a skin scent phase for a few minutes, but smells like plastic now. Ah well…..
Lavs is the Vatican one? I did NOT like it. But I think that many incense scents are not my thing at all, especially if they get too close to the church pew.
Luckyscent notes indicate it’s use on holy vestments of two popes…
I got nauseated reading your description. Worse than ennui…looks like it was out to get you!
Well, I got it right back when I sprayed MdO Nuit Noire over it. Three sprays did the trick. ?
That sounds awful! I will keep in mind to stay away from it.
I am a fan of Unum Symphonie Passion. It is a refreshing, spicy vetiver. It may not be for everyone, but I find it very interesting and enjoyable.
I’ll make a note of that one! I went through a vetiver phase a couple of years ago and collected …. ahem …. several vetiver-centric perfumes.
Nancy, you say that like it’s a bad thing!
Wow I actually a big fan of that one.
It’s entirely possible the sample has gone south. It has a store label on it, but I’m not sure when it came to me.
What is it like on your skin?
I love Opus 1144, which is called the big Diva of the line, and the Shalimar equivalent. I don’t get that, necessarily, but deep rich floral that lingers I do get. Nothing untoward or out of place- I like it from beginning to drift off hours later. I hate the clunky masculine looking bottle that has nothing to do with the juice, which is the only reason I haven’t already bought a FB of this.
High school shower stall? Mildew? Gads NO!!!
Testing Dame Chilihead this morning thanks to perfumista generosity. Getting mostly a fresh cologne type scent so far, maybe a bit more unisex than most. It’s not really greasing my gears, but I don’t hate it.
Tried Black Flower, the vanilla scent yesterday. It gets points for tenacity! Lasted all day and into bedtime. But it smelled like a dupe of the vanilla sandalwood essential oil I bought at a new age shop 25 years ago and still wear from time to time. I think it cost $7, so I’ll stick with the cheap thrill version for now.
We are leading parallel sampling lives w/ BFMV 😉 …did you try the oil or EDP? I didn’t get great projection or lasting from the oil.
It’s the EDP. I’m a pretty generous sampler, though, so that might be part of it. I try to replicate the application from a sprayer by more-or-less pouring some of the vial directly onto me in a few places. Not as good as a spritz, but better than a little dip and dab. Didn’t project big, but it was noticeable most of the day.
Thanks! That’s good intel.
Thanks for killing off a potential lemming for Chilihead. Fresh + cologne usually doesn’t work well for me.
No ylang for me today – the hand went straight to the little decant of SMN Eva, my favorite orange blossom scent. Bracing myself for a busy work week.
Yep, you smell fantastic. I really like Eva.
In Mémoires de Mustique, which is the equivalent of drinking dry California sparkling wine on a shabby chic set of rattan and linen garden chairs looking out on a pretty garden on a warm day. No awards for originality, but entirely pleasant.
That sounds blissful, actually.
Sounds like a great holiday
How are your poor feet? Nothing is more painful than PF. You might need some of those extra thick and spongy shoes, like the Hoka Ones?
Well, I’ve been walking 3 to 6 miles a day during this lock down, and I must have done something to irritate my foot. It took me almost four years to recover from the last time I got PF–and that reduced my walking to almost zero. So I am icing regularly, taking loads of ibuprofen, wearing very spongy shoes, and praying and burning incense to the goddesses of Marathon. Me and my poor feet are dialoguing daily. I am listening, and keeping and open mind, and trying to be super responsive. (That’s NOT a breeze. That’s me genuflecting toward the temple that is my body (at least that is what I am hoping is going on!))
Still faintly scented from this morning’s bath with C&E Nantucket Briar soap. I especially love the soap and shower gel in this scent and regret not stocking up before it was discontinued.
Hope everyone is well. My get-up-and-go got up and disappeared sometime last Thursday night, and hasn’t been seen since…
Ha, mine left early this morning and is off cavorting with yours 🙂
j/k, I think I am just tired today. I want to lie in a hammock somewhere and read.
Oh lying in a hammock all day just reading and dozing sounds delightful….
Doesn’t it? Instead I was on my feet doing things all day and it is almost 11 pm and I’m just getting back here. Maybe tomorrow!
Just blasted myself w/ Ylang 49 goodness from an older decant from the lovely Laura I believe and the atomizer has held up amazingly with no evaporation/discoloration by the neck as far as I can. Laura, if you happen to read this would love to know atomizer brand if you remember. 🙂
I bought some samples from Dame a few weeks ago and like the Black Mexican Flower Vanilla oil but I don’t get great sillage or longevity from it and wondered if the EDP has better oomph please? They only sell oil samples on the website but if anyone wants to swap for a decant of the EDP or I’d be happy to do PayPal as well…trying to avoid buying a FB of the EDP before I test it. I am much more a sprayer than a dabber.
That Ylang 49 is one I tend to wear when it is cold outside, but I do love it!
Cartier Carat, which I guess has some ylang, but it just smells like pretty, gauzy flowers to me.
Enjoying summer and life with the 3-yr-old so much more now that school is out!
Yay!
I am wearing Aqua Allegoria Ginger Piccante and drinking my second cup of Wild Pu’erh tea.
I am drinking my evening mix of ginger and lemongrass 🙂
I’m wearing Chanel Paris – Venise today from a sample that I’ve been doling out carefully. It’s not my usual sort of thing, but we’ve got a problematic and unresolved smell situation in the house these days (I know – gross! I’m working on it!), and Venise gives my nose something completely different to settle on. An olfactory break, if you will. I’m kind of wanting a bottle – I like the scent, the bottle design, and the misty spray is fantastic.
I saw the 50mL bottle for the first time on Saturday — it is super adorable ?
It is!
Luck with your mystery smell. Ours last year turned out to be rats in the walls. ?
GAH!
Sorry.
Oh, no, that’s ok. I’m sorry you encountered rats, though!
Urghhj
Ewwwwwww! ??
SotD = Geisha Vanilla Hinoki
GVH feels comforting today, must be the lavender + vanilla. The hinoki wood helps too, the smell of cypress trees makes me breathe deep and say, “aaaaaaahhhhhh.”
Looking forward to lots of ylang perfume ideas, I love that flower. 😉
Happy Schmunday to everyone, hope your re-entry into this week is an easy one.
Comforting + Monday = perfect! Even if it is a Schmunday kinda one.
yay! that’s good math. 😉
Hi everyone, my SOTD is Vanilia by L’Artisan Parfumeur with ylang-ylang, vanilla and sandalwood. Beautiful sexy, creamy ylang ylang.
I am looking forward to this week’s CP, I have several ylang ylang perfumes, including a 25 year old bottle of pure ylang ylang oil. I may mix this with a dab of sandalwood or patchouli (or both?).
The weekend reader’s poll was wonderful! I added several new books to my ‘must read’ list! *happy dance*
We had a wonderful weekend, hiked with friends, about to head out on a walk on lunch break, gotta get these pounds off!
Yes, I added one to my list from the reading poll and I am thinking of just buying it
Nice! I try to make good use of these polls. I’ll take book recommendations anywhere and everywhere I can. 🙂
I keep checking the NYPL website and our branch doesn’t seem to be opening soon..
The Twisted Lily ad is annoying me with all the flashy graphics. I couldn’t look away fast enough. My eyeballs may have been somewhat damaged.
Just when I thought I was going to stay too grumpy to post today, you made me LOL ?
Sorry about your eyeballs!
Oh, I *hate* those kinds of ad animations!
In Escentric Molecule 02, trying to decide whether just a decant will do…
They do make a 30 ml, if that helps.
participating in Chanel Gabrielle…very pretty, I think I smell ginger but it’s not listed…
2 questions:
1) can perfume loose it’s scent? I decanted Pamplelune about 2 years ago, and couldn’t smell anything when I sprayed it – I checked the original bottle and I could smell that scent…
2) anyone else very sensative to Eugenol? In Alien, Aqua Allegoria and Jasmin Marzipan I smell an overdose of cloves, but I don’t see anyone mentioning this on fragrantica. I have heard of jasmin described as banana or corn, but not cloves…anyone?
Sometimes I can get a whiff of cloves in a jasmine perfume. Just a little bit. Not all jasmines do that, though, so for me it is composition specific.
Interesting… Thanks jalapeño!
Bois Farine – didn’t read up on the CP before spraying. Since I have various iterations of No.5, I’m ready for this week! Another one with ylang is Sacrebleu, I believe.
Applied for a job/project last week that I was under the impression was mine to get if only I applied and have not heard back. It was one of those “we need to start this project yesterday!” situations and I’m now thinking I completely read the signals wrong. But how would you interpret “I think you would be great for this job”? 🙂 Oh well. It would have been quite well paid, but also boring and daunting at the same time.
I have noticed that most very well paid jobs tend toward daunting and boring…must be why Zi sm not very well paid- I have a very low tolerance for boring, even is it is interesting, let alone boring and daunting!
I’m accidentally CP-compliant because I had applied St. Clair Scents Eve before sitting down to read today’s posts. That really was a great poll this weekend. I’m very impressed that so many of you are such serious readers. I used to be but have been weirdly affected by the pandemic. My two activities are watching TV series and cooking up new food with new ingredients every day. Yesterday I went to a house with local farm-grown produce and bought fresh organic okra, red-leafed sorrel, tomatillos, eggplant, peppers, and radishes. Lots to explore here. Only three customers and we all wore masked and stayed at a distance and were outdoors, so I hope it was safe. We’re having another family members Zoom meeting this afternoon with the director of Mom’s place and I look forward to updates.
Keep us posted on your Mom. Thinking of you
What beautiful vegetables and produce. It’s all cauliflowers, pumpkins and parsnips here! I hope you get reassuring news from your mother’s home.
Calypso, I think we all end up with our own preferred distractions! I ordered all sorts of things for baking and ice cream making and etc, and then lost interest right away.
And hope the meeting went well!
Coriandre in the morning for greeting in the mood for doing my taxes.
Later my parcel with 4160Tuesdays What I did on my holidays arrived, so I am wearing this. This is a funny one, I smell like a humbug mint and vanilla bonbon….
Taxes, ugh, hope the Coriandre helped!
It was 31*C yesterday…
Today it was 18*C for most of the day. And raining.
Prada Purple Rain started this week for me.
Did you get a chance to listen to the CMBYN soundtrack?
Not yet but it’s on my list!
I listened to the soundtrack last evening. It’s a great one, but also so many songs in ‘disco italiano’ style 😉
Robin, I love the cornflowers. One of the nice things about the beach the other day were all the wallflowers growing on the seacliffs. They are made of sturdier stuff than me. I almost missed being CP compliant today because it involved getting out of my warm bed to walk across the room for ylang ylang heaven, Eau Moheli. I don’t seem to have warmed up since the weekend but at least I smell tropical. Lacking energy today, maybe it’s a winter thing and I just need sun and light.
And so they are blooming even in winter?
I’m with Kanuka on suffering a lack of sunshine, we’ve had very dull weather over the last couple of weeks.
I changed my hair colour from red to a more purplish red – my hairdresser calls it magenta. That calls for clothes in pinky tones, and appropriate perfumes. I’m thinking of Plum today.
Your magenta hair makes me think of Waterdragon and her red boots. Do you or Kabul’s ever hear from her?
No Ylang Ylang today for me but I am wearing a BWF. Gardénia Passion, which is a lovely and very wearable tuberose.
I was running late for work today, so just grabbed from the purse stash. Sotd is Grand Bal. I’m pretty sure it has ylang in it.
It must, it has everything else in it 🙂 You smell fabulous, darling!
Thanks!
Ah, short work weeks, how nice. I have Thursday & Friday off this week.
SOTD is something from the sample pile, not working for me, I will not embarrass it by naming it.
I have a perfume conundrum: yesterday I sampled something that was ‘not me’. Not bad, but not me. But my husband, who rarely comments on my perfume (wise man) made a point of telling me how much he liked it! So, should I get it since *he* likes it?? Hmm.
Oooooof. How uncomfortable were you in yesterday’s perfume sample?
Is it something HE can wear?
Well, it’s a BWF (MWF? not huge but not small either) which is not my jam. Teo Cabanel Lace Garden. It’s kinda fun in a tropical-ish way, but…
And no, fer darn sure, he won’t be wearing any such thing himself 🙂
Just hold on to the sample and wear it every now and then when your together. It sounds like something I would like.
Late reply for what it’s worth. My husband likes Daim Blonde. Which is a bit too sweet for me and also not really “me”. But EVERY single time I wear it, he says “that’s the one I like”. So I bought a bottle when I found it cheaply. He has to put up with so many things that he is impartial to, I guess I can wear this one for him. Somehow he HATES FdD (ELdO), though he kinda likes Shalimar.
A gorgeous summer day here, but I also have a case of ? butt. I did a lot of tasks yesterday, so as a result I am a little wiped out today.
SOTD = Heeley Eau Sacree Extrait de Parfum, from the sample stash. Smells great! ?
LOL – I say take as many breaks as you want to!
Off-project today in Silver Iris. Looking forward to seeing everyone’s choices so I can see what I have with ylang. So far, only No 5. I have EL Amber YY, but it’s too hot for it.
No perfume for me lately. The flower picture at the top of the post is pretty, though. 🙂
