Lazy weekend poll ~ Easter basket, episode 8

Posted by Robin on 11 April 2020 323 Comments

Happy Easter, everyone! It's time to fill your (fantasy) Easter basket:

1. You can pick one perfume, new or old: what is it?

2. And you can have one other scented product (a candle, a body lotion, anything): what is it?

3. Your favorite candy?

4. And any random present you'd like the Easter bunny to bring you.

(5. And an extra, pandemic-related question: what is the first thing you are looking forward to doing when this is all over?)

PSA that N-M has a small selection of Claus Porto and Molton Brown on sale. The Easter bunny treated me to a Voga hand cream and guest soap set this morning!
Fave chocolate at the moment is Chocolove organic 73% dark, or the much more easily found rich dark 65%.

Not to long ago NM had 25 percent off of almost all fragrances. And then SAKs did the same. Wonder what’s going on?

Saks has 15% off for some beauty and fragrance until Sunday.

Until these strange times, the first time I saw %off this category in NM in the end of last year.

Neiman is apparently preparing to file bankruptcy. They almost did last year but restructured their debt, but with their stores closed, they are in deep trouble now.

Ooh, that reminds me that a bunch of Chocolove bars are in the boxes that were just delivered to my door.

I read a ridiculous article in WaPo about how to go about shopping for 2 weeks of groceries. The dumb-dumb advice was to forgo TREATS like chocolate and chips and candy and cookies.

(It also said to not buy things like strawberries because they won’t last the full 2 weeks. THAT’S HOW STRAWBERRIES ARE UNDER NON-PANDEMIC CONDITIONS. Are we supposed to stop buying them in July at the farmer’s market, too?? wth)

Listen, in this time of pandemic I say GO BIG!! Not saving anything anymore!
Yesterday I did four sprays behind each ear every 15 minutes for three sessions before I left the house.
Today , it was five sprays on each wrist and behind both ears. I am tired of using things sparingly. If not today, then when? Right?

They are a small, cruelty-free makeup company based in CA and I have been admiring their swatches on Temptalia for a while but haven’t ordered anything yet. They consistently get A reviews on Temptalia and are very inexpensive.

I love Temptalia b/c she reviews high-end, smaller independent brands and drugstore brands and applies the same criteria to all her reviews. I love high-end makeup too but w/ low-priced brands like ColourPop coming out (another CA based brand I have tried that’s very good) that are very high-quality and cheap…it has made me wonder why I should be giving extra money to Guerlain/LVMH…? 😉

No affiliation to any of these sites or brands but here are some reviews for Sydney Grace and ColourPop on Temptalia.

    1. Vintage Shalimar parfum

    2. Parfums De Nicolai Candle, I read in the paper this morning Gucci has incense so some of those too

    3. Dark, dark , dark Chocolate

    4. I am missing having a cat during these times, so maybe some Easter bunny cuddles

    5. what is the first thing you are looking forward to doing when this is all over? Hmmm..
If I were single I think I would just grab some random stranger and kiss them and frolic in the street in the buff. With a glass of Prosecco in hand. I am using my imagination here.
But if you want an honest answer, I think being able to touch and hug someone without justifying if you are healthy or not.

#4- my feline granddaughter gives you a virtual kitty hug! We are taking care of her in our own home because my daughter is too busy with work at her hospital and her roommate left so it’s rare that someone is home now to give food and affection to her cat. My fur baby is keeping us all sane and we all love having her visit Chez Marzipan!

    1. Pick one perfume: I think it would have to be Camel!

    2. One other scented product: There was this wonderful rose/tea scented diffuser at the Cafe Royal hotel in London that I loved. I have the name written down somewhere; I’ve always wanted that.

    3. Your favorite candy: Toughie! Maybe some nice dark chocolate. Maybe from Criollo.

    4. Random present: A job offer from the company I was interviewing with, who decided to freeze hiring because of the Coronavirus pandemic 🙁

    5. First thing you are looking forward to doing: Walking around fearlessly on crowded trails! In-person drinks in bars with friends! Fancy dinners at restaurants! Grocery shopping without a mask, gloves, and terror! That’s four things, but I want them all.

    Fun!!

1- Jo Malone white jasmine and mint. Dying for this actually. If there wasn’t a pandemic and there was normal eBay listings, I would have bought a partial eBay bottle this week. I’m not a Jo Malone fan girl but that simple, clean and optimistic green scent really hits the spot during this stressful time.
2 – maybe a citrus bar soap of some sort
    3 – cadburry mini eggs
4- I’m fairly content, EB. Let’s pay it forward to the frontlines instead.
5- going home. I’m staying with my in laws on a farm (long story but we decided to come here for health reasons for my son, who has had some unexplained issues). I love my family, but I miss my house, privacy, and peacefulness a bit. Or maybe eating sushi or Thai food in a restaurant? Hanging out with friends in person and listening to music with wine? Hugging my parents? So much. But still, I know I’m blessed with having a very easy time of it at the moment. We have our jobs, I’m one of the only people at my company approved to work from home, everyone I love is safe. And I have all of you!! I’m lucky and I know it.

Stay safe and be well y’all!

Easter basket filled with one perfume? Black Vines

    A licorice candle to match

My favorite candy..isn’t it obvious? (Black licorice ?)

I would also like a few Cadbury Eggs thrown in my basket

A random present from Bunny…a winning lotto ticket or Lost Cherry ? or a new couch..or a good guy lol. Easter Bunny can pick randomly from those options.

    First thing I wanna do?
Go downtown and hug random ppl but because of germs will likely just grab Krispy Kreme and hit a movie theater.

Good morning everybody! I made chocolate chip pancakes this morning and am drinking milky tea. So, I’m in a hazy bubble of the perfect combo of carbs and caffeine.

I’m in L’Occitane Herbae from a sample, I believe from pixel. Very nice citrusy herby thing, for the morning walk.

    1. A bottle of Arte Profumi Bois Sacre if you please.
    2. A tub of Musc Ravageur body cream would be lovely.
    3. Favorite candy? I would have no idea how to pick a favorite. Discovered Maltesers a few months ago, and am still trying to forget about them.
    4. EB, could you please try to fit a refrigerator in my basket, so I won’t have to leave my house as often?!? If that’s not feasible, I’ll take an old style apron, you know, the ones with the ruffles, made with fabric that looks like any of the Easter eggs in the photo up top. Many thanks!

I can’t tell you how much time I’ve spent over the past few weeks thinking about what I’m going to do with my hair. Getting it cut was my last pre-pandemic outing, but I have a pixie cut which is going to start looking seriously bedraggled (and start curling around my neck and into my ears and face, which I cannot abide) very very soon. Having curly hair just adds another dimension of complication.

Then there’s the gloves conundrum. Do I save some to dye my hair and risk potentially not having any left for going out in public?

    1. Paris, YSL

    2. Carnal Flower Body Butter or a Guerlain soap, or Shalimar powder.

    3. Dropjes (zout), salty liquorice.

    4. More common sense to get us out of this mess

    (5. Visiting my friends and going to France, not much into hugging people anyway, so I don’t miss that, but just being able to be free to go anywhere and that need not be far.)

It’s not as cheap in my little country, but I’ve seen some good offers none the less. I will probably want both, greedy person that I am. I do adore Shalimar, so that will be my justification. Have you got either of the Shalimar body products?

Hope you are keeping well. You are inspiring me to wear LOADS of perfume. ?

My girlfriend in Canada tells me Shalimar body butter is amazing! And Walmart was selling it for $25USD. I was going to buy it for my birthday at the end of the month but with finances being what they are I am sticking to my no buy and “shopping” my basement.

I make my own Shalimar oil. I use a mix of (fractionated) coconut oil plus a bit of shea, then very liberal sprays of Shalimar and shake everything up in a squeeze bottle. The body products always sounded so luxurious and lush – then I realized I could just make my own.

Happy Easter to those who celebrate! ????????

    1. Chanel 28 La Pausa EdT.

    2. A Bath & Body Works Fresh Cut Lilacs candle.

    3. Béquet Celtic Sea Salt Chewy Caramels.

    4. A full bottle of either Honoré des Prés I Love les Carottes or Heeley Eau Sacree.

    5. Be around my twin baby nieces again. Last time I saw them physically was one month ago.
And also take my mother to her cancelled medical procedures that are urgently needed.

SOTM Mancera Paris Gold Incense. Not incense at all. Just a gourmand vanilla scent that almost knocked me out when I dabbed it on my wrists.
Now I am wearing Serge Lutens Le Profundis. Always comforting and peaceful on me!

Second Omega’s suggestion for Confession Ultra Slim refillable lipstick from Hourglass. Also like their Girl Stylo in Icon. Shiseido’s VisionAiry Gel lipstick isn’t drying.
Much as the bulky, unwieldy, too-heavy packaging annoys me, Guerlain’s Rouge G never irritates my lips.

      Red lipstick? ?

Rouge d’Armani, 400 is a great red. I have the matte version (though its not extremely matte). I wear it quite often, its not drying. It was not cheap but i dont regret buying this one. Armani also offers other finishes in that colour (more glossy and more sheer).

If you like sheer and shiny, YSL rouge volupté offers some weareable reds. They are quite comfi.

If you can find it discounted or feel like splurging, Tom Ford Lips & Boys Dominic is a very nice, darker red with a satin finish.

    3. Dark chocolate for me, anytime.
    4. I’m supposed to have my Carnal Flower body oil delivered today. After the fiasco with my Saks order (they emailed me 3 weeks later to let me know they canceled the order due to product unavailability) I caught another deal (on NM this time) and sprung for it.

    2. Astier Villate Naples candle. (Kevin reviewed it here: https://nstperfume.com/2011/11/23/astier-de-villatte-naples-candle-home-fragrance-review/ )
but I’d also be happy with some Blood Orange hand sanitizer from Grove Collaborative.

    3. Taza Chocolate Discs – any of them.

    4. A new carpet for our 2nd floor bedroom area.

    5. I’d just like to go to the store and get the things I want (that used to be there in abundance) without any nervousness. But if I can ask for more, I’d also like to go hang out at my favorite microbreweries with friends.

I feel worse for poor T-Rex who is HIGHLY sociable and is sick and tired of seeing my face. She hugs everyone who will let her and she really misses her trips out and about to Lowe’s, Marshall’s and other dog friendly establishments, as well as parks and trails.

Yeah, exactly! I think people really lack the vocabulary and scent experience to accurately define what they’re smelling. And I’m among those people, because many times I just think to myself “Oh, that smells GOOD!”

But, it’s always nice to hear good feedback, even if it’s “fresh.”

      Happy Easter Lucas!
You may get your #5 wish granted soon. I read in the NYT today that the Czech Republic is planning on allowing people to play tennis and return to swimming after Easter. I know you are in Poland but it looks like there may be some movement to ease some of the restrictions in that part of the world (for better or worse).

    2. Weleda Sea Buckthorn body oil. Lovely, and will help to balance the Bunny’s budget after #1.

    3. Probably really good toffee (butter crunch). See’s is likely the best I’ve had that is not homemade.

    4. Oh, heck, I’d love to have the yarn for a sweater I’ve been wanting to knit for a while. I have a number of other projects queued up, but this one would be fun, fast, and ideal for WFH (for the knitters, it’s Jen Geigley’s Main Squeeze Cardigan).

SOTM has been Ummagumma to keep me company while doing laundry and crossword puzzles. It’s supposed to be sunny this afternoon, and I have big plans to go outside and battle the weeds some more. There’s a never-ending supply of them. 🙂

    My poll answers:

    1. You can pick one perfume, new or old: what is it?

    Vintage Diorling, any formulation.

    2. And you can have one other scented product (a candle, a body lotion, anything): what is it?

Ooh, not sure – maybe a Cire Trudon candle. I’ve never owned one.

    3. Your favorite candy?

Rolos. Or Heath bars. Tough to choose between those two.

    4. And any random present you’d like the Easter bunny to bring you.

    A cure for covid.

As I think about what things will be like when this is all over and life returns to whatever “normal” turns out to be going forward, the thing I am most looking forward to is hugging people again. My hair stylist. My pilates coach. Friends and neighbors. My family – one niece had her first baby a couple of weeks ago, and another niece just had to postpone her wedding that had been scheduled in mid-June. The unhugged hugs are building up, and it will feel REALLY good when they’re possible again.

    4) new lilac bush for my garden. Bunny is bringing this one! President Lincoln, a deep purple.
    5) have brunch with my friends! I miss laughing around a table, Zoom doesn’t cut it.

Our Prime Minister has declared the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy to be essential workers 🙂 . However, I forgot how close Easter was when I ventured to the supermarket, so we’ve had a chocolate free Easter. I did manage to get flour, so made some hot cross buns. I was too lazy to put crosses on them, so I guess we’ve been eating hot buns!

Perfume-wise, I should focus on what I’ve got, rather than drool over new things. We’re being asked not to order things from overseas in order to save freight capacity for essentials, and I am trying to do all the right things at this time. My choice for my basket this year will be Jubilation 25.

I mentioned to a friend that I was out of flour. She texted to say I should look on my porch. She’d left me a big container full of flour so I can bake cookies. Her husband bought a FIFTY pound bag of flour because that’s all he could find.

    1. My easter basket would have Apres L’Ondee. Doesn’t get any more easter-y than that.

    2. A bar of Claus Porto Iyria soap

    3. Sophie’s Choice, but I did look at Fran’s Chocolates recently to see if I could get some chocolate covered apricots sent my way. They are otherworldly, and the answer was: No, I Cannot. I’d have taken some Oolong Truffles, too, but I cannot have those either.

Will take consolation from the Robin’s Eggs and pastel-colored almond M & Ms that I do have.

    4. A visit from my sister and her 2 children who were have supposed to have spent this holiday weekend with us.

    5. Traveling! I’ve cancelled 3 trips that we’d planned (not to mention the above visit that isn’t happening). I’m guessing the Labor Day trip we still have reservations for isn’t going to happen either, but we did snap up some verrry inexpensive RT tickets to Puerto Rico for January 2021. Fingers crossed on that one, too, frankly.

    Also: a haircut!

Wearing Eau de Shalimar and spent a good chunk of the day cooking. It’s a delicate balance, trying to figure out just how many groceries to buy & how long they’ll last, then fitting them and all the food I feel compelled to make into our very-small-by-modern-standards refrigerator & freezer. Making a grocery list was never so taxing.

    1. Gobin-Daude Nuit au Desert. Just one bottle. It would make me so happy.

    2. Probably a candle. I’m not a fan of scented creams or lotions – I dislike having lingering scent on my fingers and hands. Any candle from the Cire Trudon line would be welcome; I really like their combinations of notes, and I am rarely in the mood to spend that much money on a candle for myself (I save that for perfume).

    3. Home made caramels. A little fleur de sel sprinkled on top is always wonderful, but more importantly, they’ve got to have some tooth. No soft and squishy cubes for me.

    4. I’d like the Easter Bunny to bring me a Golden Handshake, so I can retire early. Now would be good.

    5. Girls’ Night. It’s just not the same via Zoom.

Woke up to some nice surprises from my boyfriend, and he’s going to cook my favorite meal tonight, which is shrimp, cheesy grits, and collard greens. I had a nice call with one of my friends this morning and have also talked to my mom and my dad. Boyfriend made waffles with peanut butter and banana this morning, and we’ll take a walk in a little bit. Wearing Ostara, my lovely and cheerful companion for the day. Oh, and my coworker had tulips delivered to me yesterday day! They’re local from the fields where the tulip festival typically takes place every year about 45 min north of Seattle.

I have doused myself, a la Chocolatemarzipan-style, in Bois de Ascese. Down to the bottom quarter of my bottle, I had been using it sparingly. But an incredibly kind and generous NSTer sent me a nearly full bottle she wasn’t using and I am suddenly, literally, awash in smokey amber and whiskey. My husband’s comment after sniffing the air, “Mmmm, I smell Irish Leather!” Oh well. He gets an A for effort. 🙂

    As for my Easter Basket:

    1. Not sure. If I could pick anything–maybe VP’s Kiki.

    2. A body butter from Frederic Malle.

    3. Too many to name. But a favorite at this time of year is See’s Mayfair eggs in dark chocolate. (None this year, of course… )

    4. A long luxurious, and safe pedicure. And world peace. 😉

    5. Hosting dinner parties, and cocktails out on our back deck, and hugging everyone who walks in the door.

When I first started thinking about number 5, some annoyances came to mind, like struggling with online grocery shopping and the constant shortages — yeah, I would like to be done with all that. Or not even wanting to think how long it will be before I could possibly travel to New York again and spend days in the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Brooklyn Museum. I could go on.

But more profoundly, what I really want is not to be worried about everyone all the time in this needlessly chaotic situation. It would be an absolute out of body experience to not be weighed down by all of that.

    SotD = Sigil Hand Spray

It smells of sagebrush, fresh ginger, and lime.

    1. Masque Milano Luci ed Ombre
    2. A bunch of fresh cut daffodils, their delicate scent is a favorite.
    3. I’d love a dark chocolate bunny. I always eat the ears first. Lindt or Ghirardelli, please.
    4. I would like my garage to be magically de-junked, de-cluttered, dry-walled, painted, organized, and turned into a cute place to enjoy.
    5. Going back to school to see my students, teaching piano lessons, and most of all, spending time with my family members who live in other places.

There is something magical about smelling the bread as it toasts then consuming the toast with the scent still in the air…soooo very satisfying to the senses. 🙂 We are all scent-obsessed and rightfully so!

I’m wearing > 15 sprays of Ubar which is more than I will ever want to wear again. I’m kind of waiting for it to settle down somewhat. And this from someone who would wear 10 sprays of Paris edp daily!

Interesting that you should know about schoolkrijt licorice. I thought it was only a Dutch thing.

My favourite Dutch licorice is the really, really salty ones like these:

Oh, I’ve tried those! They’ll give you a double whammy hypertension. Schoolkrijt is my husband’s favourite candy, so I guess it’s not just a Dutch thing. We get the Venco brand here and it is quite ubiquitous.

Anyway..Happy Easter ?. I am drooling over the Ethel M chocolate website and so want to try them..a bit expensive though. They are donating a dollar to a food bank with every purchase. I wonder how these compare to Sees.

    Those easter eggs are beautiful

    pick one perfume
    Borneo 1834 bell jar.

    other scented product
I don’t know, I covet a really expensive scented candle, but I need to sniff them to know which I’d really like so never mind.

    Favorite candy
72% Ghirardelli chocolate; Aussie black licorice for non-chocolate candy. Otherwise I’m not really a candy fan. Oh, actually, I like a good toffee too.

    Random present
    a guitar

    Look forward to after social-distancing:
Hugging my family and friends. Hanging out at my favorite coffee shop. Going to a concert. Traveling to CA to visit my cousin; I was planning to do that this month but obviously had to cancel.

question: is it ok to send decanted perfume presents out? Surrender to Chance is still delivering, so presumably I could send things too. I just need to disinfect the outside of the sprayers, but perfume looks like it has enough alcohol in it to kill anything, right?

Or you could just advise the receiver of your parcel to not touch it for at least a week, Covid does not live on inanimate surfaces forever. I don’t know how long it survives on objects but definitely not forever. I highly doubt it could survive inside perfume for very long, but that has not been studied.

    1. Might as well go with my SOTD, which is FM Lys Mediteranee, which I always associate with Easter because of Luca Turin’s review in The Guide.
    2. I was going to say Cire Trudon Solis Rex spray or candle, but in these days of constant hand washing, must go with cream. Hmm, maybe my Amouage Lyric Woman cream.
    3. SQUISH Honey Maracuja or Watermelon Chili gummies. Soma Chocolate-covered Harissa Corn nuts. And for something a little more sophisticated, Calissons. I am proud of myself, because I am a salty snack person and did not think I could come up many candies favourites.
    4. Heck, the Easter Bunny will not come through, but let’s say a Hermessence sample set with Agar Ebene, Cedre Sambac, Myrrhe Eglantine and Epice Marine.
    5. My daughter suggested a blend of our perfect days, hers and mine: start at the aquarium, have a vegetarian lunch at Fresh, spend the afternoon at the reference library reading room, Ramen Isshin for dinner and then a nature documentary at the Hot Docs cinema.
    4.

Here’s the chocolate harissa corn nut link (they look like little cow patties or something, but they’re addictive): https://www.somachocolate.com/products/toasted-corn-nuts-tossed-in-harissa-spice?variant=32552294797 I think SQUISH is a Canada-only candy store, started in Montreal. The gummies remind me of the kind you can get in Europe, with more juice and booze flavours in them. My son S’s fave kind is Cuba Libre, which always makes me wonder if I should worry.

Have you ever read anything by Mark Epstein? I’ve read a couple of his books and really enjoyed his work. He is a psychotherapist that incorporates Buddhism in his practice. I especially recommend this one-

I read it years ago and found it to be very useful as I was going through a really rough patch emotionally. It’s stayed with me, which speaks to its impact on me.

    1. You can pick one perfume, new or old: what is it? Crabtree & Evelyn Mysore Sandalwood. I am pea green with envy over Kanuka’s bottle.

    2. And you can have one other scented product (a candle, a body lotion, anything): what is it? Nothing really. I have enough candles, incense, etc. I don’t use them very often.

    3. Your favorite candy? Good milk chocolate, any kind. I think dark chocolate is for baking!

    4. And any random present you’d like the Easter bunny to bring you. I’d like to drive a fancy car, like a Maserati or a Lamborghini, just for a day, somewhere I could speed.

    (5. What is the first thing you are looking forward to doing when this is all over?) Hiking to a waterfall on a hot day in the Columbia River Gorge and letting myself get drenched.

SOTD is La Fille de Berlin. With so much time on my hands, I am using a password manager to convert all my easy-to-guess, old, hacked, or duplicated passwords to randomly generated ones. Yesterday I worked for seven hours and I think I’m about half done.

Ok, now to answer the poll questions:

    1. Diptyque Volutes EDP, which will probably be my exit perfume purchase.

    2. Astier de Villatte Grand Chalet candle. I love the perfume enough that I know the candle would be perfect for spring.

    3. I’m trying to think of a special candy, but even though I buy them for myself all the time, I’d be happy with some Justin’s Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups.

    4. If the EB wants to pick out the perfect couch or mattress for me, I’d be delighted.

    5. Oh gosh, I can’t wait to go to work in the office again, which on its own seems like the weirdest statement ever. But also, going out for brunch and not being paranoid about being too close to other people are high on my list. I’d like to go see a movie in the theater too.

Speaking of movie theaters, has anyone else done any “virtual screening” to support their local independent movie theater? I don’t know what other theaters across the country are making available to stream at home, but three Seattle theaters are doing that right now- SIFF, Northwest Film Forum, and Grand Illusion. Many of these are genre, foreign, or documentary films. I think we’re going to stream The Perfect Nanny (French) tonight from NWFF for $12, and last Sunday we watched Extra Ordinary (horror comedy with Will Forte) for the same price through Grand Illusion. I read The Perfect Nanny when it came out last year and thought it was very good, so I’m looking forward to the film. I’m so worried about some of our great movie theaters not surviving this, so we’re trying to support them as much as we can.

I put on Füm Ariose last night and can still smell it his morning.

    1. I’m going to pass on the bottle of perfume. I am just not feeling the urge for anything right now.

    2. I would like Korres to please bring back their Jasmine shower gel and body butter.

    3. Favorite candy? Since I gave up all my favorite salty snacks for Lent this year, what I am really craving right now are some chips! Fortunately, I bought a couple bags of Herr’s Kettle Cooked Sea Salt and Cracked Black Pepper chips on my last trip to the grocery store. I used a LOT of willpower and didn’t get into them until today.

    4. A dishwasher that doesn’t leak, please. And for Mr. Jalapeno’s foot to keep healing without incident.

    5. I miss being able to hang out with my friends and family. And eating a nice meal out on occasion. And not having to wear a mask when I go outside.

I have Green tea body lotion coming, so I guess I’d choose scented lotions…

My favorite candy is LOOK candy bars. Thin nougat bar covered in dark chocolate.

As many know, the Nellis AFB is in Las Vegas..and the Thunderbirds flew over the city as a shout out to first responders, health care workers and to give locals a reason to look up. Here’s a link if anyone wants to watch:) I love these jets!

I saw footage of the Las Vegas flyby and thought it was an awesome thing.

I’ve been dreaming of carrot cake or sticky/toffee pudding. Just the thing I shouldn’t be enjoying…

        And back at you! 🙂
One Easter, I made a coconut cake decorated with spice gum drops. I loved how colorful (and very tasty) it was..

I’m late to the survey, but here goes.
    1. St. Clair Scents Casablanca
    2. Archipelago candle in scent Stonehenge.
    3. I can’t believe I am the first person to mention Reese’s peanut butter cups! Their Easter egg peanut butter cups are even better! So creamy! I was given a big Reese’s peanut butter cup bunny by my very sweet and caring neighbour who also put four bags of cat treats into the package for my “family,” ha ha!
    4. Some nice discreet (but not tiny) emerald earrings!
    5. Visiting my dear mom and hugging her and chatting like normal times, and not worrying all the time about her. It’s natural to worry about her becoming ill, although the place is apparently taking all of the required precautions and more, but I also worry about her mental state deteriorating. Also, going out for Tex-Mex and a big frozen margarita (with salt).
SOTD is Parfums MDCI Nuit Andalouse, pretty potent and gorgeous, just dabbed on from my tiny sample. I can’t imagine having a bottle and trying this by the spray method. It might be divine and it might be noxious.

One of my very favorite scents in the entire world is that of a Casablanca lily. Is the St. Clair Casablanca anything like that?

I haven’t smelled that lily, but I doubt it. It’s an orang blossom and white floral scent. Here’s one review—it has earned many raves, another one at great length from Kafkaesque. And I agree. I had a small bottle and used it up.

I grabbed and sprayed D.S. & Durga Debaser as my SOTD as we were heading out for a walk on this gorgeous sunny day. Now I’ve got the song Debaser in my head every time I think of my perfume. It’s a nice perfume but not my favorite fig. Doing lots of sprays and resprayed lately to take advantage of the staying at home and try to use up more of my decants.

I’m enjoying the huge vase full of tulips right now plus the productivity of washing dishes and peeling vegetables for the pork stew my boyfriend is making. We actually broke routine for the first time and didn’t go to the store for groceries today. I will take a break from work and go by myself tomorrow, which will hopefully be a not-busy time to go.

Pretty eggs! My brain isn’t up to a poll now, but I’ll try to answer in the next few days. Take care!
