I get the giggles every time I hear the name out loud. This video did not cure me!
Without thinking I first wrote the intro as “Tom Ford talks about his new Rose Prick”, and then I really laughed out loud.
Someone should have tried harder to talk Ford out of narrating his own ad, because he is not good at it.
I like insane masses of roses in a scent but I am going to guess that this is wayyyyyyy above my price point. Doesn’t mean I won’t try it.
Agreed – rose de mai… ouch. You’d think he’d have a coach help him.
It just doesn’t work – and the voice is distracting from the visuals.
Will give it a try too though, out of curiosity… not because of the silly name…I don’t think the market is 8 year-old boys, but I’m pretty sure they tested this in focus groups. Doesn’t mean Mr. Ford listened.
For all TFs posturing, I suspect he’s a rather conventional guy. With a rose garden. Really don’t like the brand, because I feel it’s overpriced, overhyped, and at the end of the day, gauche and common.
I agree — he has narrated many of his ads, and he just sounds bored.
Forget narrating — someone needs to talk Tom Ford out of naming his own scents, because his attempts at being provocative just provoke eye rolls now.
