The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 14 November 2019 24 Comments

Chanel No. 19 bar soap. I congratulate whomever came up with that perfect shade of green. "A luxurious bath soap scented with the floral, woody and green notes of N°19. A perfect balance between the vibrant, green notes of Galbanum and the soft, powdery notes of Iris." $26.

I keep debating on if I should get a bar or two of this one. Maybe I should bite the bullet and just get it.

You should get it, you’ll be wishing you did otherwise.

If I had more time I would check the price per gram between this and other luxury soaps, like FM or Diptyque. This price struck me as not that bad, even though of course it is expensive soap.

This soap is wonderful and the scent last a bit on skin after the shower (and your bathroom smells amazing).

The best part of fancy soap is smelling it in the hallway :-)

Compared to the Amouage body stuff, this is dirt cheap.

And I usually put it in a drawer for a while first.

I’m debating another bar of Tauer’s Majestic Tuberose but I know I’ll give in. That bar is heaven, and will perfume my entire new apartment!

That is the color I had my room painted as a teen. I had dark wood shutters, and I made myself a comforter cover in a Chinese print. I love that pale celadon!

A friend gifted me with a bar of No 19 soap a few years ago. It was wonderful, although, not this lovely shade of green.

Wait, what? I thought they discontinued this, can’t find it anywhere. Is it back in the line up?

I remember back in the 70’s, when they released #19, they had bath powder tinted this color. Also pink for #5, and lavender for #22.

Anyone is on the fence about this, just get it! I thought it was d/c’d, at least it became a holy grail in Canada. I got 2 bars from The Bay about 2 months ago.

lol. Yes, it was me! I tried online, but my order didn’t go thru even tho it showed inventory. The sales rep at the store found them in inventory and had them shipped to my house. Kind of like buying on-line, but at the store!
