Mona di Orio Alinea Collection ~ new fragrances

Niche line Mona di Orio has introduced the Alinea Collection, with 8 new luxury fragrances.

Intended for those in search of the rare and beautiful, the Alinea Collection captures the spirit and true luxury of Maison MONA DI ORIO, the ability to change something into emotions.

Café Simien ~ "An ode to Ethiopian Coffee. Plum, Coffee c02, Aged Patchouly."

Four Thieves ~ "A medieval herbal concoction reimagined. Marjoram, Green Lavender Absolute, Tolu Balsam, Narcisse Absolute, Orris Butter and Raspberry leaf Absolute."

Mellifera ~ "An imaginary beehive. Lavender Absolute, Heather, Dark Honey, Beeswax Absolute."

Rose Concrete ~ "A single rose in a room of stone. May Rose from Grasse, Stone Accord."

Sainte Blanche ~ "Fog and dewy flowers surrounding Maison Sainte Blanche. Jasmine from Grasse, Honey Suckle, Orange Blossom, Petrichor Accord."

Semper Augustus ~ "Tulip mania. Flower, Stalk, Leaves."

Tabaceau ~ "A study on burning tobacco. White thyme, Tobacco Absolute, Vanilla c02, Liatrix Absolute, Oak Absolute."

Vermilion Wood ~ "Dark wood coloured vermilion red. Pomegranate, Black Prune, Geranium Absolute, Oud Laos, Opoponax."

The Mona di Orio Alinea Collection fragrances were developed by perfumer Fredrik Dalman, and are €420 each for 50 ml Eau de Parfum Intense.

        I agree that some of them are appealing, but how the heck will they even sell enough of these for that price? I can’t imagine this is sustainable for them – it would take a lot of perfumistas to support this new collection and I don’t think this house is well known enough to mainstream folks to capture enough of their interest…

          I don’t know much about how much you’d have to sell for it to be worth it. Plus don’t know the distribution arrangements, and also don’t know if their regular fragrances sell all that well…

    I’m kinda over Mona. The signature and Nombre d’Or collections were all that we needed. Then came the monogram which could be seen as a free themed collaboration with other artists. But this one is pushing it over… bring back full sizes of the first releases please!
