Monday all over again. It's also Hammock Day and Mango Day, and Susan Eloise Hinton's birthday. What fragrance are you wearing?
It's still a wee bit too hot for Hammock Day here, so I'm celebrating Mango Day with my very old bottle of Parfums de Nicolaï Eau Exotique.
Reminder: on 7/26 we're doing Gone In Sixty Seconds...wear the shortest-lived fragrance you own. Bonus points for reapplying all day long. Suggested by pyramus.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2019, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Good morning! Rose Ikebana for me, so beautiful and fleeting. It’s a good gym fragrance.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday! ???
Note twin in Lustre. Reminds me very much of one of the SSS rose fragrances. Laurie was a master with roses.
That was my association as well!
??
Ohhh, I loved Laurie’s rose scents and I’m so ‘not’ a rose person so that’s saying something!
No one did roses like Laurie. They were all exquisite.
Aw, that makes me sad that I missed trying them, then.
I love rose scents but have never tried hers so you’re really making me want to!
You smell lovely in Lustre! And I’ve not tried any of the SSS roses; looks like I’ll be trying to swap for some when September rolls around. ?
Or better yet get some samples when the new owner reopens SSS. Hopefully soon!!!
I tried that in the little rose soliflore sample set I got from Luckyscent and it just didn’t stand out. Interesting to hear how many people love it. I do like the Malik al’Taif a lot. I will be interested in following your rose exploration, chocolate marzipan8.
You too
Okay, having Hammock Day on a Monday is just cruel. 🙂 I’m in Jour d’Hermes again today after enjoying it so much over the weekend. Still in the grapefruit-y phase now, but looking forward to its development over the day.
You smell great.
Agreed! I’m looking forward to celebrating a belated hammock day this weekend 🙂
Seriously unhammocklike behavior! It should be the 2nd Sunday in June.
You smell wonderful Robin, I’ve got a bottle of that stashed away somewhere.
I’m wearing my brand new Patchouli 24 perfume oil that I bought at a very steep discount. I happened upon it completely by chance and am very pleased. It’s a great rendition and very long lasting.
Has anyone here tried any Atkinson’s perfumes? While browsing the perfume aisles in the Bijenkorf I was introduced to two of that line. The SA was clearly very fond of them and I though they were crap. Which I didn’t tell her in those words 😉
I agree with you on the Atkinson’s.
Good! 🙂
It was just one of those hilarious conversations that I love. She had little to no knowledge of perfume but was very helpful and enthusiastic.
Me 3, although I have not tried most of them.
Every time I hear/see the brand’s name, I think about the similar sounding diet – and it spoils perfume for me even before I smell it.
I hadn’t even thought of that, still it’s an unfortunate association.
I tried their lavender which didn’t seem to contain any lavender and their oud, which didn’t seem to smell of any oud.
I have no qualms about saying something is crap, even to an enthusiastic SA ?, classic example at Barneys (and this was where Lucas and I did not have the same like$ -Dipryque Oud Palao smelled like vomit and I told the SA exactly that..

Woo hoo! Looking and smelling great!
Oh, I do love a good lippie!
How is your kitty doing, Ltsg?
we are spoiling him rotten while he is still with us
Aw, I’m sure he’s loving that.
Do you have a prognosis for him, or treatment plan?
My Pacifica scents (Tahitian Gardenia and Waikiki Pikake) arrived. I promised holyneroli to review Waikiki Pikake. It’s not what I expected. I thought it was going to be a jasmine-centric perfume, but to me it does not smell like jasmine at all, at least not the jasmine I know. It’s a tropical, beachy fragrance that smells of white flowers and overripe tropical fruits. Maybe it’s how Hawaiian jasmine smells. Anyway, I do not like it so far, and I will probably get rid of it. At least it cost less than 10$.
Many thanks for the mini-review, Glannys, even if it’s not what you (or I) had hoped. Have you ever tried Kuumba Made perfume oils? I just bought one called Pikake Lei and it’s how I would’ve wanted the Pacifica to smell! Jasmine-y, with a hint of clean musk in the base.
No, I have not tried anything by Kuumba Made. I do not think I have ever tried anything Pikake-scented, actually. So unfortunately I cannot think of anything I can compare WP with.
Let me include a little plant nerd moment here. Pikake is actually Jasminum Sambac, native to the Eastern Himalayas, Bhutan and other far flung places. It will naturalize anywhere it does not freeze and has done so all over South East Asia and many Pacific Rim countries, it is the national flower of the Phillipines. It is flourishing in Hawaii and leis are often made from this flower. If you are addicted to Monoi oil, as I am, I order the one that has a Pikake flower in the bottle. I find it less indolic and camphorous than other jasmines, not that there is anything wrong with either of those qualities. I think it is fresher and more tea like and I wear Pacifica Waikiki Pikake in the depths of winter and in weather like we are having now. White florals sing in the heat, for me, anyway. It is a soliflore and a simple one at that but I layer it with Mugler Cologne and other fresh and green fragrances. I am really disappointed that Pacifica stopped making it’s excellent soaps and shower gels and candles.
Thanks, stinker_kit!
I find it confusing that Pacifica described the notes as “Hawaiian jasmine and sandalwood”, not “jasmine sambac and sandalwood” or “pikake and sandalwood”. WP doesn’t smell at all like, for example, Hermes Cedre Sambac to me. Probably some other notes they did not mention.
They discontinued their soaps? How sad. They had a long-lasting scent, lathered well and were quite gentle on skin, as far as I remember.
“Notes” are not ingredients…there might not be any real jasmine or sandalwood at all. Cedre Sambac might not have any jasmine either, or it might have some funky molecular fraction of jasmine. And 99% of perfumes have other notes they did not mention 🙂
Robin, I know that and agree with all that.
I meant something quite different though:
Me: Hawaiian jasmine note? No idea what it is or how it smells like.
stinker_kit’s reply: Pikake is actually Jasminum Sambac etc.
Me: Oh, do you mean that Hawaiian jasmine is Pikake? How strange that they call it that in the notes.
Of course, I might have jumped to concluion and misunderstood stinker_kit’s reply.
I know that the scent may be called Violet and have no violet note in the description (this is just a random example I came up with). But I would be surprised to see a scent named French lavender with notes mentioning English lavender, but not French lavender. That would be a bit strange.
Gotcha.
I just figure if I see “Hawaiian jasmine” or “jasmine sambac” or “pikake” or “sampaguita” or “Arabian jasmine” or whatever, it might all be the same synthetic jasmine note. Jasmine absolute is expensive.
I would not assume there was much truth in the list even if it was an expensive perfume, and here, even more…seems highly unlikely that anybody produced and then shipped jasmine sambac absolute from Hawaii to make this $24 perfume. More likely it came out of a lab in New Jersey.
Companies frequently mention geographic sources in note lists — “Indian sandalwood”, “English lavender”, “Calabrian bergamot” — and I pretty much ignore those. It’s all PR, and they can say whatever they want, there are no laws preventing you from buying a lavender absolute from France, calling your fragrance “English lavender” and then using “English lavender” in your note list. And in the end, I don’t see what difference it makes. The fact that the plants smell different tells you little…the end products will differ due to other reasons (distilling and processing methods, how the perfume uses them, etc etc).
Thank you for all that!

Hi ?
3X☕️ ?️♀️
Hello Lovestosmellgood! ???????
☕❌Infinity!!!
Rochas Man?
Correct lillyjo!!
You know your stuff!!
Just got electricity back after 5 hours.
Crazy weather.
Good luck with the job interview.????????
Thanks Bear! I still have another day to worry before hand. Even though I don’t wear typical mens perfume, I love smelling and learning about them. You gave me all the right clues! Stay safe from the weather, and everything else!??
just a CLOUD of Olene
Jealous, love Olene:)
Gorgeous!
I love that one!
Which is exactly how Olene should be worn!
Finally a cool grey morning, whew! Dior Gris Montaigne.
I love cool grey mornings.
You smell lovely! I need to find my decant of that … I know it’s somewhere …. 🙂
You smell gorgeous. My decant of that has been feeling neglected; I should go play with it soon.
SOTD is Mugler Cologne.
After riding out the weekend heat wave in an un-air-conditioned apartment, I couldn’t possibly be more thrilled about the cool, drizzly weather we’re having this morning! Even though it messed up my hair on my walk to work 😉
Today’s tea is ginger-peach-molasses kombucha. Yum.
Yum on the tea!
That kombucha sounds great!
It’s considerably cooler today than it has been here lately. Super thankful!
Your booch sound so yummy. Sorry for your miserable weekend, but relieved that your weather has cooled off.
I started this week with Atelier Cologne Jasmin Angelique. I’m telling you, it’s not that easy being green. I got this pen probably a year or 2 ago and I didn’t like this scent. It was in a purgatory drawer. I came back to it few days ago and surprise – now I quite like it!
Wishing you all a lovely week. I’m envious of my parents who started their Greek vacation yesterday.
I am envious of your parents as well!
I agree Lucasai it is very refreshing and holds up well. Sometimes the angelique gets alittle pushy but it really cools you off. I have a small bottle from Sephora and should add it to me hot summer list. You smell terrific. I wish I could sniff you as I haven’t sniffed it on a man before .
I love Angelica, I need to try this.
I didn’t like Jasmin Angelique either, and I also still have a sample or decant floating around here somewhere. I’ll give it another sniff since you’ve inspired me to do so. Afterwards, I’ve decided from here on out that there will be no purgatory. Purgatory and I are. so. done.
So no maybes?
I’m going to the beach this week! Well not really. Nope. Sitting in front of the computer all week, in reality, but at least I can smell like the beach. SOTD is SJP Stash Unspoken, which smells beachy to me.
I didn’t realize there was a flanker to Stash! Do you like it? I really like the original.
Ohhh, yes! Give us a mini review!
I do like it! I never did click with the original Stash, but Stash Unspoken works for me. This one is supposed to be ‘softer and more feminine’, whatever that means. Listed notes include pink pepper, peony, quince, honeysuckle, musk, sandalwood, tonka, incense. I get mainly tonka, sandalwood, a hint of incense and honeysuckle… but my main impression is sunscreen! It’s very beachy and coconutty on me. Dunno why, but there you have it.
Oh, that sounds yummy and something I would very much enjoy…
Ditto!
SJP Stash didn’t work at all for me, so I avoided the flanker. Maybe I should reconsider, and give it a sniff if I come across it.
I’m in Lorenzo Villoresi’s Musk today, which I quickly discovered was a misleading name but wonderful just the same. It’s as much about the dark rose and creamy sandalwood as it is about the Tonkin musk.
Sounds lovely.
That was my gateway musk perfume – probably because it’s not ALL about the musk. You smell gooood.
Happy 130th birthday to Guerlain Jicky ! I received an email today from Guerlain saying that today is Jicky’s birthday. I am wearing it today to honor it 🙂
I finished my decant or else I would be with you! Happy Birthday Jicky!!!
Oh yay, I should have worn Jicky!
I’m wearing a new iris, “Holy Grail” by DUA. I don’t know if this is just ludicrously aspirational marketing or in my case, apt. I’m enjoying it immensely, but it’s really weird! According to DUA, it’s “inspired by Iris Gris/ L’Iris de Fath” but I can’t make any comparison as I’ve never smelled either and it’s highly likely that I never will. I don’t really get most of the listed notes as on me the iris is quite dominant, but as iris lovers know that can go in many directions and this does. I smell a slightly sweet butter like you’d find in Scottish shortbread, soil, a yeasty note, a smidgen of powder with just a tinge of violet, and a ton of orris butter. These facets are all present from the top to the drydown and they shift in and out of my awareness in a way that I find captivating. I’m not sure if this is something that others would find wearable as a perfume, but I sure do! This could be a Hiram Green fragrance – it’s to iris as Lustre is to rose.
Wow, I’m intrigued! It sounds like it captures most of the different facets of iris.
Hmm I don’t see samples available on their website.
A dear friend sent me my sample which she bought on evilbay. I don’t think I can post the seller here, so please feel free to email me: harukirumi in yahoo land and I’ll let you know.
Thanks, I will check there!
OMG I am jumping up & down!! I want this!
I really love it!
What an excellent review. You win the enabler pin for the day!
Agreed!
Thank you! I hope you’ll share your thoughts if you try it!
Thank you! Let me know your thoughts if you try it!
Will do! There’s a you tube video review on their website. I am not familiar with this brand or the perfumer.
He’s prolific.
Being lazy today. Had two things that I needed to do today and took care of one of them already, the other has to wait until this afternoon. A family member’s car broke down and he is using the other car. I am so happy that Kohl’s is accepting Amazon returns and I have a return to make. I wasn’t about to pay for return shipping. Yes, I am cheap that way. I am still in Lyric and haven’t showered yet. It’s cool enough to go with vintage BaV today and that will be the post shower SOTD.
There’s also an amazon locker downtown. That’s where I take all my returns that aren’t free via ups.
I live on a fairly rural area and the lockers are a 45 minute drive for me as opposed to a 15 minute drive. Can you tell I live in Northeastern Ohio? We don’t measure in distance but how long it takes to get there. Don’t ask me why we do that here, we just do that.?
Ha! I had exactly that conversation with someone the other day.
Incidentally, that’s how people gauged the drive (anywhere) in LA – at least when I lived there 20 yrs ago. No matter where you were going it was a “20 minute” drive. Except you can’t get anywhere in LA in 20 minutes, so I had to learn to double or triple that depending on where I was going.
I was wondering about the Kohls option, though. Have you done a return there yet?
Haha! That’s pretty true about the 20 minute drive, lol. My valley friends always insisted they were a 20 min drive from the city. And in the 80s, 20 minutes was actually considered far. Traffic wasn’t as bad as it is nowadays.
That’s definitely a thing in NE Ohio! It’s a thing in Michigan too, where I’m from. I find that Michigan and NE Ohio share a lot of the same regional quirks of speech and language (e.g. it’s “pop” not “soda”).
Yeah, I was shocked to discover other states don’t say pop!
People also say “pop” in the PacNW but I was trained early on living in CA to say “soda” 🙂
Smiling at the comments on both measuring travel by time, and also “soda versus pop”. I’ve always measured travel by how long it takes to get there, no matter where I have lived.
Grandiflora Madagascan Jasmine for another hot day though not as oppressed as the weekend was. It was even too hot to ho sit at the beach, which was our plan yesterday, but hung out indoors at my in-laws on Long Island instead. Dinner was lobster tails, steak, mac and cheese, and homemade baked beans. They feed us well when we visit ?
That is such a stunning jasmin, I would love to have a bottle.
This may well be my favorite jasmine at the moment.
It is my favourite of the Grandiflora’s and it is a stunning jasmine. So I get that it might be your favourite.
Nice! I’d be hanging out there a lot 🙂
We should go more often than we do.
Wow, your in-laws put on quite the spread for you all!
I’m wearing Bergamote 22 because it fits the warm weather and I was able to finish off a sample. I still have a decant from the last swap meet, so I’ll continue to wear it this summer.
I normally take 3mg melatonin at night to help me get to sleep and stay asleep. I had to buy a new bottle last week and didn’t realize I got quick dissolve tablets. Wow, I’m sleeping so deeply just by changing to the quick dissolve. At first I thought it was knocking me out for too long, but I think I’m getting used to it now. It takes me a little while to wake up and feel alert, but I just feel so much better rested on a Monday than I’m used to.
Hmm. I am intrigued by this melatonin…
It’s worth looking into for sure. I just need to be sure to only take it when I really need it. I tend to need it more in the warmer months since it stays light longer and I have more trouble sleeping when it’s hot in my bedroom.
I’m having the same issue this summer (not due to heat, but I’m just more sensitive to light and noise and would **love** to sleep in until, like, 6 a.m.)
I got a fitbit to track my sleep cycles and apparently I’m pretty close to the normal range, but a little short on deep sleep.
I also get WAY off track in the winter (last winter was ridiculous) so I’m trying to think of ways to better manage my sleep in all seasons.
I am also intrigued by this. I am gonna give this a try!
I also occasionally use melatonin as a sleep aid.
Happy Monday!
1) To Robin: Yes, I did relocate some of the borage, trimmed the bolted cilantro (I might pull it) and planted the fresh basil starts. I also tackled the rest of the yard which I neglected and was turning into a jungle. I also took the mint of the pots- they were not thriving- and planted them in ground with plenty of compost. They will spread but they will be happy.
As a result, and with the boost in the sunny weather, the garden seems to have new fresh energy.
2) In addition to garden work, I went to Night Market. Sunday was a much needed hangout time!
3) In Cap Neroli, of course.
4) Mango day! So I will make some homemade mango ice cream!
Ooohhh, can I come over and have some homemade mango ice cream?!
Please do- I will make it with coconut milk!
Wow, wish you would come over here and take over the gardening and ice cream making, ha!
Hee!
It is satisfying to work with your hands and using your creativity! I had bought a couple of mangos a day or so ago so this is perfect- chill out in the garden and eat some ice cream!
What is borage good for? Serious question.
Borage is great for pollinators and bees- the flowers are so cute and the blue color really attracts bees, butterflies and other pollinators. For humans, you can use the flowers in decoration in fruit and savory veg salads, in lemonade and such.
Not participating in SL Vetiver Oriental, which is quite long-lasting on me. Powdery goodness.
It is downright cool here after the weekend heat. While I recognize that most will appreciate the change in weather, it’s a bit of a bummer. Supposed to be cool and rainy for the next few days. But it’s also a good time to test out the 3 oil-filled radiators that were just delivered by amazon.
I’m considering using a $50 bloomingdale’s GC on the travel size bottle of FM Vetiver Extraordinaire. I’ve never smelled it on skin; I only smelled it sprayed on a card years ago and thought it was quite lovely.
Thoughts? It gets very mixed reviews. My favorite vetivers are Prada Infusions, the above-mentioned SL, Fat Electrician, Atelier Vetiver Fatal, Carven, Guerlain Vetiver, and other light fare. Not a fan of darker/inkier types like Encre Noir or Sycomore.
Oh – and I didn’t get around to posting this weekend, so I’ll add this now:
Before reading the thread I had a craving for Prada Iris Absolue. As I was spraying, I realized that I was wearing my favorite snow perfume on the hottest day of the year. It works for both! It’s a very visual perfume for me – all white – which makes me want to wear it when it’s snowing but was also appealing in near-100F weather.
Last week when I was bummed about how hot it was, I thought to myself ‘at least kpaint is probably enjoying it’ 🙂
I was! LOL Had we switched apartments, we’d both have been happy. We’re on the first floor above the basement and our neighbors’ A/C comes up through the floorboards so I was trying to find ways to stave it off this weekend since they had it on BLAST 😉
Have you tried L’Artisan Coeur de Vétiver Sacré? That one seems light to me, and nicely elegant. My personal favorite is probably Vetiver Tonka, but that strikes me as being perhaps warmer than what you are looking for.
Oooh I’ve never thought of that as a snow perfume, but I can totally see it now that you mentioned it.
How could there possibly be mixed reviews on FM Vetiver Extraordinaire??? People must have broken noses. VE is the best. It’s not dark but it is rich.
I agree. It’s wonderful! I think it’s on the cleaner, fresher side of vetiver personally. I don’t find it inky at all like Encre Noir.
Cleaner and fresher is exactly what I’m hoping for!
Thanks for cementing my decision, you two 🙂
Ok, SOTD thanks to holyneroli’s post this weekend is LADDM.
I would do ‘Love is Everything’ for Mango day but they wouldn’t play well together.
I did consider Shangri La for the peach too. I usually never have these many options.
What crazy storms last nite my bones were shook a few times. and here we go again today. ..
Be safe everyone.
😀
I hope that your storms have blown over by now, AngelaB!
BTW, I think you had a question for me about AG Ninfeo Mio sometime last week. It doesn’t read as “fig” to me so much as it does light woods. I will admit that I don’t have a problem with either fig fruit or fig leaves as notes, though.
Thanks Jalepeno, what a memory!
I haven’t worn much w/fig in it thus far and hope it works on my skin. I forget now, exactly but about a year or two back someone (possibly L2SG, cm8 or you?) wore it almost all summer and I remember how she/they remarked at how beautiful it was in the heat.
IT”s on my list this week, (I detoured and went w/Dzongka today because Holly put me in an Iris mood!)
Thinking to splash on some Bel Respiro, craving green after that Palm Trees Please posting. Lol. If I rub my Bel Respiro bottle..maybe I can magically be near beach and palm trees? One can dream;).
I would think! And if you rubbed the PTP bottle you’d end up at the mall 🙂
Lol exactly
HA!! good one
I have many fleeting scents, but for today I went with Aqua Vitae. I swear I sprayed like 5 sprays before I left the house and can’t even smell it anymore. It’s super nice while it lasts though.
Will definitely celebrate mango day tonight with some mango chucks sprinkled with Tajin. Yum!
My SOTD already faded as well but I sprayed only 2 times. You have me beat by your 5 sprays.
I think i gave myself today 10 sprays of my SOTD and couldn’t smell it in the afternoon…..
In Lush Breath of God, the best and only barbecued mango scent I own.
Barbecued mango, huh? That sounds appealing to me, actually!
Sotd is No.5 edt, sprayed lavishly from the Ulta tester, before I came to work. I had to quickly stop in there, because I needed an emergency nail file, lol.
I keep nail files stashed in as many places as my mom keeps reading glasses ?
Lol! I had 2 in my purse, but both were useless!
You smelled great! The EDT barely lasts on me but I am not complaining as that makes it a perfect scent for dinner.
Well I just blind bought DKNY Nectar Love…ugh. lol. I knew the potential of this being kind of bad was pretty probable, however, when I hear honey and nectar I get kind of weak. If the stupid DKNY musk loudness part wasn’t so loud I can actually enjoy the honey underneath. But it’s kind of like every DKNY but with honey. Oh well for $16 for an ounce I guess I can’t cry about it. I swear I smell apple in this, apple musk and honey. Granny Smith musk blast with a drop of honey. This is so bad. It’s almost a scrubber. And I knew better lol.
Did you get it from a store? You can probably return it.
That was my vote!
I did. I may look into returning it. Or selling it..when a car drove by, I was thinking..this should just get ran over haha..it’s that bad.
I have never returned an opened perfume yet but when ai do, I will claim to be allergic to it….most, if Not all companies, would fall all over you to return your money.
Played hooky today; I just needed a mental break. Today I’m in Yardley Iris layered with C&E Iris lotion. Without the lotion, the Yardley is definitely a contender for gone in 60 seconds; almost wears more like a body spray.
Happy Hooky Day for you
Thank you! It was nice. Jeez, it’s certainly a long day when I’m at work; 7-4:30 is brutal!
Yay for a Mental Break Day!
Yes! Wish I could do it every day!
Woo hoo for a day off!
Thank you! Hope I don’t pay too much tomorrow..lol.
Lots of Eau de Merveilles Bleue today, nice but very fleeting on me. I bought a used 30ml bottle with 15ml in and i think i will thunk it this summer easily.
The original EdM is gone in less than 60 seconds on me, which is why I never bought it (same with the bleue).
I can’t smell it at all.
So funny ? I can smell EdM but the Eau Clair flanker goes pfffft on me
Both EdM and EdM Bleue are rather tenacious on me… I can easily get around 8 hours.
Me too! Bleue lasts for DAYS on me ??
In Private Collection Jasmine White Moss today.
I think I may have smelled one or two of the EL Private Collections a few years back. I can’t remember which ones, though.
Hello Jalapeno: It was good trio. Jasmine White Moss smells very like Cristalle EDP before it was reformulated. Tuberose Gardenia is the only one still in production I think.
Still hot and humid even though some impressive thunderstorms rolled thru my area late last night. Relief is on the way, though… tomorrow’s forecast has temps dropping into the upper 70’s! ☔⚡?
SOTD = back in Bandit. This is the polar opposite of fast and fleeting. I could smell hints of the far drydown from yesterday when I woke up this morning. So it made perfect sense to wear it again today (to me).
Oh I’d love rain and 70s!
SO much rain out here this year that even a little bit can cause flooding. ☔
Uurgh, me too, KellyC!
Niiiice! I love it when I can layer more of a favorite scent over a long-lived drydown ?
We got the rain last night AND tonight. There were many flooded areas…I had to turn around 3x and finally just went through 3 segments of flooding. I’m lucky to have an SUV but even so, it was harrowing. I saw several much smaller cars with no choice but to go through the same flooded sections because there was no way to turn around or even wait it out on the side!
Scent of the moment: C.O. Bigelow Lemon lotion. I did get out yesterday and today — before the storms — but I’ve stayed in the house too much to really be able to experiment with perfume. I believe the storms that are currently hitting this section of southeastern Pennsylvania will be rolling Jalapeno’s way soon.
I’m looking forward to the promised better weather tomorrow afternoon. Definitely not hammock weather today, but I would have gotten mangoes last time I went shopping if I knew it was mango day. I have a bottle of mango drink that I might as well start tonight.
Oh, I definitely DID get those storms! The trees across the street were almost bent in half with the wind. All 3 cats were freaking out at one point, and they usually don’t care about the weather outside.
A lot of my commentary has been about the weather these last few weeks, but it’s been fairly dramatic weather for these parts. My brother and I texted the other day — I think Saturday — and he confirmed that Baltimore was also “stinking hot” at the time.
The garden plants and native plants that like lots of water are very happy. I didn’t think geraniums and the various kinds of salvia I have could take that much water, but they’re doing well. The blue flag iris is quite all right with having its roots in water much of the time. The irises that aren’t that kind of iris are not so happy, but they’re pretty hardy. The ones in the raised bed seem to be doing all right, as they’re getting more drainage.
Wearing Chanel’s Eau de Cologne. This is a perfect cologne, and so ephemeral.
It is a perfect cologne. You smell wonderful.
I completely agree. It was an expensive bottle, but worth every penny.
It is the most perfect Cologne I’ve ever worn. You smell great ?
SOTD = Les Eaux de Chanel Paris – Riviera
It’s the newest SAMPLE in my collection. I wore it yesterday for science. Light citrus non-indolic jasmine is what I smell. Very nice and great for summer! 6 spritzes lasted 4 hours. I thought it would bloom in the heat in the commute back but nope. Next time. 10 spritzes just like my plan for the next time I wear Paris Deauville.
I am splitting off 75 mLs if anyone is interested. $1.1 per mL and I will use a plain glass atomizer and new shipping materials. Total cost will vary | $16-$17 depending upon your shipping address. If interested, please send me an email (click on my username). U.S. only please and I prefer to do splits with NST commenters.
Emailing you in just a bit!
Yay!
Paris – Riviera sounds very pretty! Enjoy!
It is very pretty. I do need to experiment with quantity!
Chanel jasmine is beautiful! ? I’m imagining you smell lovely.
It is and thank you!
Thank you for researching for scientific purposes! It sounds so good.
It is very good!
I should have mentioned the $16-17 is for 10mLs. For 5mLs, it would be $10.50-$11.50.
After a pain-filled weekend I had emergency visits today to my dentist and then to the endodontist for a root canal. But after he did his special scan, he pronounced that Tooth #18 is fractured and must be extracted. So now I have a work-in appointment at the oral surgeon’s at 7:40 a.m. tomorrow. Sigh, and $$$. I forgot to put on any perfume today. Please wish me luck. I am terrified of dentists and this tooth is the furthest back molar on the bottom left. I’m also taking triple antibiotic doses due to my recent hip replacement.
Good luck with all!
Can you medicate? Sometimes, dentists help.
Good luck!
Good luck and good vibes sent your way. Hugs!
Sending good thoughts! I was petrified of dentists for many years, but thankfully they seem to be more in tune with patient’s anxiety. My dentist is excellent; never thought I would say that 10 years ago.
Best of luck with all that tomorrow! ?
Good luck! I’m quite familar with extractions, an oral surgeon should be able to knock you out, but you have to have a driver. It shouldn’t hurt much afterward as long as you follow the aftercare instructions.
I’m so sorry you have to go through that, Calypso. Laughing gas helps, as does just having the X-ray apron draped over you. The weight of it is calming. Much, much luck sent your way.
????????????????
Good luck, Calypso!
Wishing you very good luck!
Amazing Grace. Always a favorite. The smell of the storm makes me long for a Demeter perfume.
Is that the Philosophy one? My friend was a Pure Grace girl and wore it all- the perfume, lotion, shampoo everything. She always smelled so good!
Lots of scents today. AdP Iris nobile edp, divine. Then Ti Amo Roja Dove. Then spray from a sample of Dior Joy (it’s pleasant), Stella sample spray. Final spray of Songes from my amazon bottle. Juice is dark orange, smells so pretty.
Wow you’ve been smelling great ALL day!
I have to admit Dior Joy has grown on me.
SotD = Terracotta Le Parfum
