Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit! Welcome to July, and welcome to the new week. (And, happy Canada Day and International Reggae Day.) What fragrance are you wearing?
I will be back on the road today, heading home after a lovely week in Massachusetts and Maine. I am going to have one more quick paddle on the lake before I load the car, then my plan is unscented lotion doctored up with a few drops of Sweet Orange Oil, plus I have a spray of Diptyque Tam Dao in my purse all ready for when I need it.
Reminder: 7/5 will be Dealer's Choice, edition 3...propose a theme for a Friday community project, and wear a fragrance that fits your theme. (We did this in 2015 and 2017.)
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2019, where I'll try (but usually fail) to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: the socks were part of Marni's Dance Bunny capsule collection for Spring Summer 2019, but I believe they are sold out. You can still find all sorts of other Dance Bunny items, from sneakers to shirts to key chains.
Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit!
Smelling beachy in Hermes Eau des Merveilles Bleue. Happy week everyone!
You smell great! I love how it smells beachy but different at the same time.
Thank you! You are right, EdMB is more mineral than aquatic. A different approach of beachy scents.
Love that one. You smell super good.
Thank you!
? ? ?
Sipping chai tea and celebrating Canada Day here in ??
Probably no chance of getting my selfie with Trudeau ?
I only brought two fragrances with me, this morning is Omnia and later for the party I will wear Frangipani by Lili Bermuda and I brought a special red and white wrap dress ??
Ooh, thematic!
Mmmm I love frangipani. A good one has been hard to find. I might have to check that one out. Have fun in Canadaland!
Happy Canada day!?? You look fabulous!
Lovely! We went to the parade in downtown Montréal, I’m wearing my red Canada maple leaf t-shirt and Kilian Sweet Redemption.
Yay for Canada Day. Hope you got a selfie with Mr. Trudeau. I’ll be so happy for you but jealous at the same time! ?
Wearing Fleurs de Rocaille extrait current version. Can’t say I’m really impressed… It was an order error (it was supposed to be Nuit de Noël but I was sent FdR by mistakes) but I kept it though.
Wait, is Donatella coming soon?… [hiding]
Girl, I am SO ready for Donatella she’s gonna think I went to reform school.
Always look forward to your posts, though 😉
Tomorrow!!
My chosen CP for this week is Clarity and Focus, the scents that help me stay alert and concentrated (because I have a lot of work this week!). Most aromatic scents and a lot of citrus and woody scents fall in this category for me, so it should be easy.
Someone on NST might have already picked this project in the past, but I do not remember who.
SOTD is FM Geranium Pour Monsieur. Mint, geranium, anise and other spices. I get a feeling of both alertness and calm from this perfume.
I like both your theme and your fragrance pick for it!
Thank you!
Me too! Good Heavens, how did I end up with so many samples? I do not like this. They have exploded out of the one box that smells of hope and despair and are in little containers on the perfume dresser! And scattered on the floor too. Today, I will be tossing a bunch that I did not like at all. I thought to pass them on but they are not good so why would I inflict them on others?
Obviously I am in need of Clarity and Focus. That is what Ylang Ylang essential oil is for…..
LOL. And I owe you a bunch of samples ???
This really made me LOL.
One of the best comments I ever read here was when someone mentioned that her samples were in their resting place, and I found that put a totally different spin on it for me. I guess that’s why I refer to mine as The Sample Sea, as it sounds gentle and calming to me when I start to question my sanity.
In their resting place! LOLOL that is good
Isn’t it? They’re just chillin’ out, doing their thing.
Thanks for the laugh, stinker_kit! 😀
Come on, be positive about your samples. It’s your treasure. And I suggest you give away the stuff you do not like. I found that the samples I really disliked were really appreciated by other people.
I like your positive spin, Glannys! Thank you for sharing it – it’s quite helpful.
I need to work on clarity and focus–sigh.
🙂 We all need it sometimes. (I think I need it more than most people.)
I can’t work on clarity and focus. I’m too distracted. Now what was the cp this week?!?
LOL?
Exactly.
I really like this theme!
Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit!
Home from safari trip. 13 flights in all and it was a wonderful journey with my sister. Perhaps our most wonderful. One bottle of 31 Rue Cambon purchased at duty free.
I am still covered with tsetse fly bites while my sister had not one. No fragrance for entire trip, just Deet.
Welcome back! What was a highlight of your trip?
so many to choose from Yasmina. seeing the big five all in one day at Ngorongoro crater,
a leopard and her cub playing
elephants outside my terrace
a baboon trying to get into our room,
dinner in the bush with a table for us set up on a kopje
the beauty of Zanzibar sunsets
Sounds totally wonderful.
Sounds like an amazing experience!
Wow!! Those are all big highlights
That all sounds amazing! Glad you had a wonderful trip.
OH yay apsara, I am so glad it was just as good as you hoped!! Welcome home.
I’m glad you had a good time! 🙂
Welcome home! Looking forward to details.
Welcome home!
Yaaaasy for an amazing trip! Sorry about the fly bites but I assume it was worth it!
In Azemour today. Not sure what the correlating theme would be – will have to think about that (after more coffeeeeeee).
Nearly wore it today! Then I saw Geranium Pour Monsieur and changed my mind.
Well, clearly I need to check out Geranium Pour Monsieur! Perhaps my theme this week should be Steal Others’ Choices. 😉
You smell lovely! I love Azemour in the summer.
Thank you! Me too. 🙂
Not that I think you regret wearing this but so thought of a theme —
Wear a fragrance you wore before coffee then after getting caffeinated, realized it was the wrong choice for that day
Oh man – for sure that has happened to me more than once, but never with Azemour! 😀 Great idea for a dealer’s choice theme, even though it might result in a rather uncomfortable Friday (if not entire week).
The theme could be best in its class?
Oh, I like that! I might even be able to do a full week of it. What a great suggestion!
I love Dealer’s Choice CPs and seeing what all you creative people have come up with. I am planning to do mine all week, because it comes in a handy set of 5. I’m thinking we’ve done visual art and we’ve done music, so why not have a Friday where we all pick one of the five basic tastes (sweet, sour, salty, bitter, umami) and wear a fragrance that evokes one of those? I’m starting off with bitter. The bitterest perfume I’ve ever smelled is April Aromatics Erdenstern, but I don’t have any of that, so I’m wearing Zoologist Rhinoceros.
Ooh – I like that theme!
Always so clever you are! Looking forward to reading about your Tues-F picks.
Great theme! A bonus would be a perfume that captures them all in one!
I love that theme!
I didn’t get a chance to tell you yesterday, but I love your theme! I’m curious what you’ll choose for umami.
Thanks rabbitsflower! to be honest I’m not so sure myself
Happy Canada Day !!!
This is the first one in a decade I have not performed in a parade/ceremony as my shattered wrist still precludes being able to play my clarinet. It is absolutely sheeting rain though, so I’m OK with that.
Spending today with my best friend and my greyhounds; watching recorded versions of The Handmaid’s Tale and eating our faces off.
Prada Iris is always appropriate.
Sounds like a cozy relaxing day. I hope you will be able to play your clarinet again soon.
Happy Canada Day to you too! Sorry about the wrist and the rain, but it sounds like you had a good day anyway. We went downtown for the parade, then out to lunch, and are now watching the clouds roll in, possible thunderstorm on the way.
Ew, I hope that your wrist is at least making good progress towards healing!
Your day sounds so great! Hope you enjoyed it. Smelling great in your Prada. Hope you are able to play again soon.
Hello all!
I’m in some 90’s L’Heure Bleue EdT today. And while I was happy with my newer bottle, holy cow is this older bottle different! More concentrated, sweeter, more sillage. I would swear it’s EdP. Got lucky with this one.
Got lucky with this one, lol, you are always lucky!?
You’re not wrong! I’m going to have to start casting a wider net though.
So you’ve found all the bargains and wonderful things that are close by you?
Basically! There’s still stuff but I reckon that if I passed it up after all this time I should save my pennies.
You smell wonderful I’m sure!
I’m wearing Sur le Nil. I was craving an Hermes Jardin and I rarely wear this one. I really like it.
This is the only Hermès that I have a full bottle of. I think it really is the best one.
I like all of the Jardins but Apres la Mousson is my absolute favorite. Still, I smell Sur la Nil at least one a week. Lovely lovely.
And the lotion was fantastic. I have been thinking about getting another bottle.
Sur le Nil is my favorite of the Hermès Jardin. You smell superb.
Hi all, wearing Gucci Rush today to organize closets, not my favorite chore but I love how sweet and sultry Rush smells in the summertime.
My mom wore that for a long time and I sometimes go to Sephora to sniff it since my parents live so far away and I don’t see her that often
I love this! What a sweet thing to do to remind you of your mom.
That is so sweet.☺️
Have fun! I actually love cleaning/ organizing closets!?
Spending the moment in Courtesan. Yesterday I gave my dogs a bath. I didn’t realize how dirty they actually were. I was waiting for it to get warm and stay warm to bathe the dogs. I am not motivated to anything today but I will be wearing No 5 extrait after my shower.
No 5 extrait is one of the best things in life. Enjoy.
I tell myself that our pup getting in his baby pool all day keeps him clean (he’s obsessed with it) when in fact, he probably needs a bath in a bad way.
We are in Jersey for the week and I only brought Osmanthe Yunnan so that will be it for awhile for me
Great choice – I could definitely wear that for a week!
It’s one of my favs for summer
You smell wonderful. I haven’t worn that one in a long time, need to rectify.
Hello July! Hope you’ll bring us something good. Today is also Chemist in the Bottle 7th anniversary.
I am wearing Maison Francis Kurkdjian Gentle Fluidity, the silver and more masculine version of it.
Happy 7th Anniversary, Lucasai!
Happy Anniversary!
Happy Anniversary!
Happy Anniversary! Keep on going!
Congrats! I’ve not heard of that MFK but I love the name.
Happy 7th anniversary!
Happy anniversary, Lucas!
Happy 7th Blogoversary, Lucas!
Happy 7th anniversary on your blog!
Happy Anniversary!
My theme is “Because I Like It” and I’m wearing Rozy edp
This is my favourite theme! (Am in Mugler Supra Floral today)
;D
One of my all time favourites !!!
Where’s lillyjo – “that’s the way ahuh ahuh ain’t like it ahuh ahuh…”
Lol! I’m here, I’m here! ?????
My favorite theme haha. That’s usually the reason I wear things.
My theme is numbers. Today’s perfume is Odeur 53. Have a fabulous week! Happy July!
And I can’t remember if we did that before or not! I will have to check.
I love that theme because I could participate a lot haha!
I rabbited!! This is the first time I have remembered.
Simple fragrance for a Monday: Essential Faith oil. I love the CP this week. May have to post on Wednesday, we’ll be camping after that.
Hooray for your rabbits today!
Must be it’s you’re going to have a super month!
My self-imposed theme this week is Sample Week because I have too many untested ones laying about. First up is the new Angel flanker, Angel Eau Croisiere. It’s a big blast of yummy juicy mango when it first goes on, and eventually settles into a soft spoken distant relative of Angel. Seems several times removed, like it’s actually a flanker to La Vie Est Belle. Which isn’t a PROBLEM as I have happy memories of it, but this one isn’t too interesting after an hour.
Oh, too bad, because I love mango.
I honestly haven’t even heard of that flanker. Thanks for educating me!
Blergh! Woke up with a terrible headache. Migraine meds, a hot shower, and few hours later I am feeling shaky but functional. In a light spritz of Bal d’Afrique hair perfume and girding myself for a busy few days of work. My oldest, 18, is in the mountains for 9 days with friends hiking. They hauled in enough food for the whole trip, but are relying on springs and rivers for water. Two of the boys have a lot of experience. My son is not one of them, but he is in good shape and has a great attitude. At the altitudes they are hiking, they will definitely see snow. Ummmm did I mention I didn’t sleep so well last night and woke up with a migraine?
Zomg, I would be an absolute wreck but REALLY THEY’LL BE FINE. Hope you get to functional without the shaky before the days ends.
Hair perfume always sounds so romantic to me. I have a pixie cut, though. It would probably just end in wasted product, right?
I’m sure they’ll be fine, I’ve done the same thing with no problem (well, other than a marmot stole my soap and toothbrush).
Hope you feel better by now!
Bleck on the migraine! I hope it’s gone now, and you are feeling like yourself.
Hang in there Oakland Fresca!
Hang in there, mama. Hugs.
Monday!
1) Taking a cue from a fellow NSTer who combined Wowilla oil with Cap Neroli, I am wearing Prim Botanicals body oil with Cap Neroli. I also did the same thing yesterday with the Brazillian Lime, Fig Leaves and Black Tea fragrance. This is PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT.
2) Am constructing a side blog this week.
Wait, what!? A blog? Do tell.
I am trying to work through whether I want a ‘showcase’ type of blog or a more ‘lifestyle’ geared type of blog. It would not be for profit but for showing off skills and be a place that is NOT Twitter or FB.
Since someone recently mentioned Parfums de Marly, I did a decant dive and pulled out Athalia. Incense, iris and orange blossom, but I’m finding it to be too incense-heavy for me today. Could be it’s more appropriate in cooler weather, but I also remember that when I’ve worn it before I wanted to layer it with more orange blossom. I might try that some day if I’m ever in the mood to fiddle around or who knows, I might just pass it on instead!
That sounds like an appealing combo though, maybe I need to try Athalia.
Making an unhurried start to the day. Going on a three-week vacation soon and and will meeting perfume-loving friend, so I’m gathering up all my unloved samples to pass to her. Anything she doesn’t like she’ll pass to her mum and another friend, who are just beginning their perfume journeys.
The perfumistahood of the traveling frags!
Ha!
Nice! That’s the best way to get rid of unwanteds.
A e week vacation sounds wonderful.
*three
Happy Canada Day! I’m having a great experience in your lovely country! High Five for all the Canadians reading????
Leaving Dawson Creek wearing DSH Chinchilla. But first, another drive-by Tim Hortons. Cheers!
..drive-by Tim Hortons. Yup, Deva, you are definitely an honorary Canadian! Thankfully at my office, there is a Tim Hortons right across the street. I’m pretty sure many folks from my office could own shares of Tim’s based on the number of visits!
Have you had a donut from there?
No, but I did have a maple glazed cinnamon bagel with cream cheese, so probably the caloric equivalent on 3 donuts! ?
Wow, that bagel sounds decadent! ?
I’m out of the loop. Where exactly are you?
I’m chronically out of the loop, so I feel you! I’m road tripping to Alaska. Good to see you back in Perfumista Land. ??
Thanks and glad you are enjoying it with us!
I think my CP theme this week is Summer Scents I Forget To Wear. Today is Cedrat Enivrant, which I last wore nearly a year ago. I don’t think I have too many warm weather perfumes, but why don’t I wear them? I like them all, so it’s not like I’m avoiding them.
Sometimes when I look at my Basenotes history I am shocked by how long it’s been since I’ve worn some things I really love. It helps me cut back on buying… sort of 😉
For years I used a spreadsheet to log every sample I tried, every bottle or decant I bought, and (almost) every SOTM/SOTA/SOTE I wore. I stopped doing it almost a year ago and have zero memory of what I’ve worn or own. The result is that my collection is seriously underutilized. Half of my bottles could disappear and I’d never know it.
How is your dog today? Any better?
That’s a chronic problem of mine as well, I may copy your theme!
I’m definitely guilty of doing this too, so this CP resonates with me. Hmmm… does this mean that I should maybe reorganize?
SOTD = Chanel No. 5 L’eau
Fits the following themes
– wear a perfume from your most worn house
– wear a perfume for which you have the most BUBs
– wear a perfume you were going to dismiss as mainstream dregs but ended up loving
– wear a perfume from a red bottle
In other news, I get offended (easily) when there’s a grammatical error in the dictionary! Look up the word misconception. I know I deliberately make this mistake here but it is to add humor to the post.
Heh. That red bottle was ever so tempting but $ prevails so I ended up with boring old clear glass.
As to your rainwear query:
I am now a Hunter hoor. I bought a rubberized raincoat (like the kind little kids wear but don’t seem to be made for adults except by Hunter) for cooler non-winter weather and a waterproof cotton one for the summer. I was willing to pay up a little as their products are exceptionally well-made and designed. I bought both (plus similar items for my H) at their own website. They have fantastic sales year-round, don’t charge sales tax, and have great service. Fast, free shipping and returns.
Footwear:
Winter isn’t a problem. I wear insulated waterproof snow boots once temps drop to 50F or so.
I wanted a pair of tall rubber boots when an insulated boot is not necessary (and also to wear with my rubber coat because cute.) I have a bunch of foot issues, including overpronating and very sensitive sesamoidal bones, so finding a rubber boot that is comfortable was a challenge. I tried a few brands (Joules, Pendleton and some others) and again, Hunter won out. I ended up with the Refined Slim Fit boot because it offered the best ankle support.
I also have a pair of their Play boots in the short version for warm and hot weather.
As to water sandals, I’ve gone without for many years because I need built-in arch support and they’re very hard to find. (Yes, Vionic makes them but I have issues with Vionic and refuse to buy their shoes.) I am over the moon that Birkenstock is back to making plastic versions of their sandals! They make the Gizeh and Arizona now in EVA (rubbery plastic stuff.) It’s not a shoe I would choose for walking any kind of distance, but now I can go to the beach, walk on sand, go to the pool or spa in something other than a suede-lined Mephisto or clog sandal.
Sorry for the TLDR but hope this helps you and others 😉
Thanks for this info. Mi know Nordstrom has Hunter and I had been eyeing the mid-calf boots except they always seem too heavy! I will try them again.
I remember you mentioning getting cold easily so the 50 degree winter wear makes sense!
As to mid-calf coats, I know you’re quite tall so it is much harder to buy the right length coat so good luck!
The Original line is heavy. The Refined ones are much lighter weight. But unless you need a lot of structure in your shoes there’s probably no reason to pay the exorbitant Hunter prices.
Adding: What I would really like is a below-the-knee raincoat. Mid-calf would be even better. They don’t seem to exist.
Anyone?
I highly recommend the Boden raincoats. Super cute and comfortable and well-made. And a get a compliment literally every time I wear mine
I’ve bought their outerwear before and it didn’t fit me well (likewise for everything else besides their dresses.) They did have a fabulous trench coat that I was eyeing this year, though…
Helly Hansen makes one that hits me just above the knee.
Oh sorry, misread. Burberry makes a mid-calf length.
Oh, and I have a North Face coat that is an outer raincoat mid-calf length, with an inside down liner that is removable. Great for rain and cold wet weather.
Will look into this.
I also bought a Helly Hansen that I forgot to mention. Hits above the knee and is insulated. If it were longer, it’d be perfect.
You have a lot of themes covered with that one! And you smell great!?
I aimed to over-achieve ?
You won’t have any themes left for Friday! I have a giant Websters dictionary that my father gave me when I was about ten. I’m dragging it out when I get home ?
Actually, I googled it, but do let me know if you find it!
From Webster’s dictionary 1979: misconception
Is this the definition?
https://www.google.com/search?source=hp&ei=Gs0aXZmVD4nK_QbSxriYDw&q=misconception&oq=misconception&gs_l=mobile-gws-wiz-hp.3..46i275j0l7.4978.8717..9702…0.0..0.608.4461.0j3j2j4j2j2……0….1…….8..41j46j0i131j46i131j46i131i275j0i70i249.mCSq-vuTulg
It just says – erroneous conception, false opinion, wrong notion, misunderstanding.
Sorry, thought I was looking for spelling. It doesn’t have the “because based” explanation.
I have a rain jacket I picked up 2 or 3 years ago that is incredibly water-repellent. I was outdoors getting poured on for 5 hours, and stayed dry wearing it. It’s Cabela’s XPG brand, and it’s very lightweight. I could fit it into a quart-sized zip bag if I had to. Not cheap, but worth every cent.
Oooh, will check this out!
I like your ideas!
Thank you dearest!
I love L’Eau. You smell so good.
I rabbitted in the middle of the night when I woke up. I do think I spoke after midnight, though, because I went to bed late…..so maybe doesn’t count.
SSS Jour Ensoleille in the hope that it becomes available again soon. I not have a travel spray of this, and it’s just about finished. It’s certainly FB worthy.
Anyone out there doing Weight Watchers? My husband and I are thinking about joining. I’ve done in the past and liked it, but it’s been awhile… main question is whether it’s worth paying extra to go to a weekly meeting….
I rabbit in the middle of the night too. It counts! ?
My mom loves Weight Watchers, but did the online version rather than in-person. I’m a fan of myfitnesspal (also online-only.) My take is that WW is less time consuming and detailed. MFP requires a lot of input, but if you’re a data and details person it’s very appealing.
I second MyFitnessPal. I especially like the phone app. It seems to have even obscure foods in the database, and once you use it awhile, it becomes easier.
Rabbitting in the middle of the night totally counts! ?
I did Weight Watchers for a few years without going to meetings. I had a good friend doing it also so found we held each other accountable.
SotD = Chanel No 5 EdP
Enjoying my Chanel Monday again, also have 4711 EdC on deck for a warmish afternoon. So it’s a hi-brow lo-brow day scent-wise.
Yay yay yay for rabbit rabbit rabbit!!!??? woke up feeling optimistic ? July will be a good month.
So glad it’s Reggae Day, love the music ?? and it’s a good reminder for me that all musics are good musics if they move ya. don’t ya know.
note to self, must find my Tam Dao sample. Robin, you smell great!
I loved your comment on music today tiffanie!
thank u, Jalapeno! ??
And it really works to keep me calm in traffic! But I paddled so long in the lake and generally goofed around and procrastinated, that I did not drive all the way home anyway…am in a hotel and will finish the drive tomorrow. Which is my favorite because I hate long drives 🙂
If I ever buy another FB it will be Tam Dao! ? So calming.
Sounds like a perfect ending for your vacay! Strrrrretch it out as long as you can. ?
I really should buy some of the Tam Dao body products. How bad could the shower balm be??
I wish I could stretch it another day…I’m in Nyack, NY and it seems to be quite pleasant and I’m pretty sure I could find ways to amuse myself if I tried, ha.
Coincidentally, I did self-care today by Ubering to the train station to pick up my car. The driver had on salsa music and I asked what station (97.9) and he also said but it’s in Spanish to which I said, I love the music and the beat so it doesn’t bother me that I don’t understand the the lyrics (although if I focus, I probably get 15% of song lyrics and maybe 40% of the spoken word if spoken slowly.
Smelling great on Chanel Monday!
My CP theme will wear from your bottles bought on vacation. Today I will put on some Calyx by Prescriptives after my shower.
Great theme!
Nice!
Good theme, as I tend to buy a lot of perfume when traveling.
I am wearing Narciso Rodriguez For Her and I am drinking a cup of Nilgiri Winter Frost Black tea. The tea is a gift from my son and daughter-in-law. They put me in a tea service which delivers different tea each month.
What a thoughtful gift!
Oh nice!
That is a lovely idea!
Wonderful gift idea!
You smell so nice. And that really is such a thoughtful gift.
Back-to-work Monday for me, but today’s been pretty low-key so far so a nice way to ease back from vacation.
I’m wearing a layering combo of R&G Fleur d’Osmanthus and BF Monserrat for light apricot-peachy goodness and making up for the first apricots of the season I bought this weekend that all looked pretty but were ALL mealy ?
That is tragic. Good apricots are sublime; lousy ones are a huge disappointment. I hope your next batch is better!
Agree, the bad are just bad. We had an apricot tree growing up in LA, so I got a bit spoiled from that.
This is why I have a fear of eating fruit.
Mealy fruit is a real bummer, lol!
Bummer…hope you have a decently long availability, and that they get better!
I should probably get them from a better market next time. These were probably cold storage from last year:/
Bad apricots taste like sadness, IMO. ?
Yes, same with bad nectarines.
Ugh I hate when that happens! I’m sure you smell great though!
I’m wearing Carnal Flower after the weekend’s discussions reminded me of it. Just one spray was verging on too much on a hot but not humid day, so the theme for the week might end up being, “what can I tolerate”?
BTW, thank you for all of the thoughtful and kind responses to my post this weekend. I did read and respond to all of them this morning. I really appreciate all the support, and I will again say that I know a lot of you are dealing with similar (if not worse) issues, or have in the past, or know someone who is, or is caring for someone who is. After many years of keeping things to myself, I find talking about it very therapeutic and have profound gratitude for supportive communities like this one.
? You smell great!
Good to hear that both your physical issues and the emotional holding back as a result are being dealt with in a constructive and supportive way. It really and truly sucks having one’s concerns dismissed.
Guerlain Eau de Cologne Imperiale
Guerlain Limon Verde
Olfactive Studio Still Life in Rio, from the lovely lightray and the freebiemeet
They are all playing well together. Nice to reek on a Monday!
Holly would be proud! ?
Ha! I’ll admit that I mentally scanned my samples to figure out if I could bang out those three in one go!
Bravo, Nancyleandros! Was your selection intentionally designed to potentially play well together?
Oh, I wish I was that organized, or skilled! I wore the first two to the gym this morning, and added Still Life this afternoon when I picked up the mail.
I need to put the cologne out on my dresser. It’s great for the hot weather.
So yay, you got lucky!
Reek on!
My SOTD is Dame Earth Mother from a generous NST’er. It is on the verge of being too “sharp” and angular like Angel, which I hate. However it’s just slightly gentler and I do detect the sage note, which is interesting and rather unusual. I’m waiting for it to quiet down a bit. I don’t have any good ideas yet for a theme for the CP but will put some thought into it.
Fascinating. Sharp and angular are not words I’d ever use to describe Angel (which I love.)
I can’t wear Angel, but I can wear Earth Mother. Just one spray though.
Too bad that the travel size for Earth Mother only comes in the perfume oil now.
My theme for the week will be things I like, but haven’t worn for ages. Today will be Après l’Ondé, I bought the EdT as one of my earliest purchases as I developed a serious perfume habit, back in 2009.
That’s a good theme.
That is a good theme, has that been done as a cp??
I think, but am not sure, that something along the lines of “Forgotten Friends” was done a while back.
Yes, and I think we did another similar but slightly different…have to go look.
Great theme! I may have to copy you. ?
https://www.odt.co.nz/news/dunedin/red-sky-morning-0
I was out on the hill yesterday looking down on the still harbour when the sun started to rise, a most spectacular crimson and bruised purple that filled the entire sky. I didn’t take a photo but the view was like the link, without the port. Journey layered with Plum, nice winter combination.
By the way…do any of the daily newspapers where you live publish sunrise and sunset pictures on the front page? I get the feeling it is quite quaint
My newspaper doesn’t, but there are several people in my city that post beautiful sunset and sunrise pictures to the local reddit page.
None of the newspapers in my area do that. But every so often, one of the local newscasts will have sunrise or sunset pics as part of the weather forecast.
We get pictures on the evening news broadcast sometimes. That was a gorgeous sunrise!
If they did I might still get a newspaper! (Not really, but it would be nice to see something other than more bad news)
Camelia Chinoise today, another scent for hot weather.
Still pondering a CP, maybe wear your best/worst blind buy???
That’s a great CP idea!
Ditto!
Good idea but maybe for just Friday. I don’t think I could do a whole week. It feels like punishment. ?
I was thinking of something similar, tannina. Wear your most recent blind buy, and was it thumbs up or thumbs down.
So so so tired again today. Yes, boyfriend’s coughing to blame again. It seemed to have been better on the weekend nights and got bad again just in time for a work day. So I put on Jo Malone Basil and Neroli because holyneroli wore it last week and because I needed to wear something easy.
Oh no.☹️Hope you both get some rest soon.
Thank you!
That coughing is sounding serious. Has your boyfriend been to the doctor for it?
He is thinking it’s bronchitis now. He has no other symptoms, just the cough. He’s also a cannabis smoker (it’s legal in our state), so that may be a contributing factor. He’s not planning to go to the doctor. It has only been a week of the cough. My coworker is bringing in his air mattress tomorrow for us to borrow so someone can sleep comfortably in the living room if need be.
Hope you get the bed! ?
Hey, and I am late but keep meaning to ask you how your toe is doing?
Oh, thanks for asking. It’s healing nicely. I just stopped wrapping it every day a couple days ago. I still am very limited in shoe choices, but overall, I’m not too worried about it for the long term. Definitely need to be careful with it though!
Hope he is feeling better soon and also hope you are able to get some rest.
Thanks, Kelly! Heading to bed early momentarily.
I was travel and scent twins with Robin today in Tam Dao. Highway driving makes me quite anxious, so I let my oldest take the wheel. I was in charge of the tunes.?
Now to catch up on comments….
All driving makes me anxious but I couldn’t imagine being able to relax if my eldest was driving. Glad you could!
Thank you Diptyque for keeping 2 of us calm on the highway today!
???!
It’s a gorgeous summer day for me. The heat wave broke on Saturday, with some wild weather late in the afternoon. It did clear out all that humidity, so there have been 2 nice days of seasonable weather. But I just know that the evil humidity monster is lurking out there somewhere, waiting to return…
SOTD = Wrappings x2. Both the lotion and the EdP for today. I think I can officially say that I ? Wrappings! A couple of folks here will get enabler pins when I get my hands on the gift set.
Fyi, it’s lurking in Michigan, lol!
Cue the theme music from “Jaws” then! ?
We had a gorgeous day too, sunny and not too humid!
I’m totally enjoying it while it lasts.
Glad you had lovely weather. Our humidity broke yesterday too. I was caught in a microburst on Saturday after noon. The streets quickly flooded and big chunks hale came down along with rain. The humidity is creeping back in today.
I smelled Wrappings last winter. It’s very pretty.
I have a sneaking suspicion that Wrappings would be a 4-season perfume for me. I’ll enjoy finding out if that is true…
Woo hoo!
I had a super long day at work. I’m fighting off a tension headache.
I loved reading everyone’s choices so far. Too tired at the moment to come up with a theme but my SOTD was Rahele. A firm favorite for summer.
I hope that your headache doesn’t develop any further.
Thanks! Me too.
Wishing you a relaxing night, Petunia.
2nd that, and hope tomorrow is better!
Thank you both. It should be a little better.
Sorry to read about your headache. Hoping you’re better soon. You smell great in Rahele.
Long, busy day. I have a theme, but didn’t follow it today. Tobacco Vanille called my name instead.
You have to go with the perfume that is calling your name! No “ands”, “ifs” or “buts”!
You have to answer. ?
TF is always calling me. Sometimes I can ignore him, sometimes I can’t.?
Too late and no one will read this I’m sure haha. Anyway, I was in Mohur today because it’s fab and no other reason. 🙂
Been thinking of you all, but have been too busy with J visiting to check in. Ive been smelling great the past couple of days in Costarela, Assam of India, and TF Soleil Blanc. Hope everyone has a great week!
Just waving hello! AND, you smell nice!
Thank you! I always miss our little community here when I don’t check in for a few days! ❤️
You probably drove right past my area in Massachusetts! Hope you enjoyed your trip!
Oh possibly! I went down south through Worcester and then 90 to 84 into CT.
Monday’s over, but for the late afternoon and evening I wore Passage d’Enfer.
Hope the Canadians who comment on the blog had a good Canada Day!
