The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 20 June 2019 15 Comments

My latest Lush want: Groovy Kind of Love shower gel. "Lost your mojo? Bring it back with this refreshing twist of bergamot and freshly squeezed orange juice that will get you feeling groovy, baby! Take a trip into the shower and feel the flower power as alluring ylang ylang and rose petal infusion soothes your body and mind, whilst rosewood tones the skin to leave you radiating positive vibes." It is available in the UK; in the US so far we have the bath bomb only.

Now that song, A groovy kind of love, is planted in my head. Haha.

This sounds good btw. I may need to overcome my dislike of Lush-upsell strategies (maybe it was a one off, but I hate it when people try to make you buy more….hey I am here, and I am already buying stuff!!!) and pay the store a visit.

Interesting, I have never had anybody try to upsell me in a Lush store! They certainly do keep trying to explain products, but I have never had them try to sell anything.

Hmm I probably was so lucky to meet a sales person who was really trying 😉
        It only happened once…

Or, it may be that I do not recognize the upsell! I usually just say pretty quickly that I want to smell things and I don’t need any help.

It is MIRACULOUS that this works for you, Robin. Lush employees are required by company mandate to approach each person a certain number of times before they leave the store! I love their products but avoid their stores like the plague.

Maybe my local store is full of slackers 🙂

But seriously, I cannot be in there all that long because the smell is so strong…I can’t smell anything after 10 minutes. And my local store is small, so there is not so much to smell anyway, and usually packed — they can only give each customer so much time.

Be strong, Jiji, be very strong ?

    Dear Lush UK,
Please send EVERYTHING you make to the US too.
    Thanks!
