It's Josephine Baker Day, Cher's birthday, and World Bee Day. Oh, and it's Monday. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm in Olivier Durbano Pink Quartz, which I have not worn in ages.
Reminder: 5/24 is Bob Dylan's birthday. Match a fragrance to a Bob Dylan song, OR, tell us who YOUR favorite musical artist is and match a fragrance to one of his/her/their songs.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2019, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

I’m trying my sample of Eight & Bob Egypt — for the Bob connection!
Ha, I need an afternoon latte because it took me several minutes.
Good one!
I love Egypt, you smell great!
MFK Petit Matin, from a sample. This is pretty and I think I would enjoy smelling it…on someone else. It’s a tad sweet for me and I may have to scrub.
We finished watching Les Miserables on PBS last night and it was so, so good. I got teary at the end of course. If you are a fan of Masterpiece, I would highly recommend it.
Thanks for the recommendation!
Good, I have tivo-ed it but not watched any of it yet.
Me too, I loved it. Dominic West was so good and David Oyelowo blew me away.
You smell great Robin! I think you and Lucasai are the only ones here who wear Pink Quartz. I’m wearing Naomi Goodsir Bois d’Ascèse.
Mine’s tucked away for the “summer” (note the air/not air quotes) … but I love it (the Bois d’Ascèse)!
I don’t think I’ve ever worn my winter scents this late in the year – very cold spring!
I do like my Pink Quartz very much
I am about done wearing it…I probably have 1 day left 🙂
I’m testing La Fille de Berlin, which is awfully pretty; I can see why it gets so much love.
you smell gorgeous
I’m glad you’re trying it! It’s quite a treat.
I’m a diehard La Fille lover. Hope you like it!
Providence Perfume Co Violet Beauregarde and drinking a cup of black tea
Sounds perfect.
🙂
Wearing Love and Tears by Kilian, and matching Bob Dylan song is Just Like a Woman.
This is one of a few By Killian perfumes that work for me.
You smell good!
Yes it is!
House twin in Rose Oud, but I don’t have a matching song.
Love the fume, and the song!
I’m wearing Un Jardin sur la Lagune. I think I’ll have to make a decision about it later, it has pretty much faded already.
Does it smell good on you Pris?
On me it very quickly turned into a stale soap smell 🙁
On me too! I so wanted to love it, but no go…
It had pretty much faded by the few minutes it took to get to work. I apply more next time.
Black Cashmere today since the outside temperature has dropped from 85F on Saturday to 49F right now, it’s crazy. Hope all in Oklahoma, Texas and points east stay safe today, looks like another round of wild weather in store ?
We’ve dropped to cool temps again here as well. Not sure I’m a fan haha.
Wow, that is a big swing!
in Neroli outnoire today
sporting a fun MK dress I picked up at a thrift store for little money, its gives me a beautiful silhouette
I always smile when I read about folks wearing NO. It was one of the first non-mall fragrances I purchased as a result of reading this blog. You smell wonderful!
And a big thanks to hajusuuri for clueing me in to this gem. ?
I finally got my hands on some NO. Can’t wait to get the bottle – what a treasure it will be!
Good morning, friends! I’m wearing Camel because it’s exquisite and because it was 49 degF this morning. In late May. In California. Well, at least it isn’t raining.
You all will be thrilled to hear that MY NO-BUY IS OVER!!! I have achieved the health goals I needed to in order to resume buying perfume 🙂 My no-buy breaker has kind of already been purchased: it’s the Arielle Shoshana set of two travel sprays from her Kickstarter campaign. In addition to that, I think I might go get a bottle of Wowilla (nonvital beauty products also counted in the no-buy). Thanks to the lovely NSTers who kept me going with gorgeous freebies and swaps during this very long no-buy. (It was six months long, though it only took 2.5 months once I got serious about it. If only I had put my mind to it two years ago!)
I’m not done with my health improvement journey! Upcoming milestones will be rewarded with: (1) a necklace that matches my engagement ring (and that has a gold chain that I can sling my ring onto while working), (2) earrings that match my engagement ring, and (3) a Hermes cashmere stole in camel (Hermes cashmere stoles are like no other I’ve ever touched, truly). Those will take time and lots of exercise and self-control, but if I ended my no-buy, I am confident I can reach those milestones, too 🙂
I’m afraid to even think of what a Hermès cashmere stole must cost. :-0. But congratulations on meeting your initial milestone!
Thank you, cazaubon!
It costs way too much, but I haven’t found a single reasonably priced cashmere scarf that has the same perfect weight and texture (and do let me know if you find one!). And it costs a heck of a lot less than a diamond necklace or earrings! (Though the plan is to wear the necklace and earrings at my wedding, so it’s a bit more justified.)
You are right – I just remembered I paid a heinous amount for a Hermès belt that is the most perfect belt I have ever owned and I wear it all the time as a result. So the cost per wear is probably reasonable, compared to other belts I’ve bought and not loved or worn at all.
And great jewelry is always worth it. 🙂
Congratulations on your achievements! Keep going!
Thanks, Undina! No better time to get healthy than now 🙂
Congrats Koyel! Wowilla is next up on my to-purchase list too. I’m also feeling very tempted by the new ginger body butter at The Body Shop.
Thanks, holyneroli! Ginger body butter sounds quite tempting. Yum.
Sounds like the Wisconsin weather made it to California.? Sorry
Ughhhh take it back, take it back!!
That was fast (for me ?)! Congrats!
Heh. Thanks, Elisa P!
Congrats Koyel! Good for you!
Thanks, Petunia 🙂
You know I am super proud of you!!!!! Sending you virtual high-fives!
Thanks KellyC <3 Virtual high-five!!!
Congratulations on the end of your no-buy, and on your engagement!
I saw your ring and it is gorgeous! I love the gold, the shape and the pear. You could wear a lily/pear fragrance on your wedding day.
Or not ?
Yes, I am now lemming an Hermes cashmere scarf as well. Why not?
Hey, Coin-op, if you see this and are still interested in Germaine Monteil’s Champagne, please email me: my username at the geeeee mayle. I have some I can share with you (assuming I can get it out of the bottle).
Seriously? That would be wonderful! I think Koyel was the one who sent me the sample in the first place, I was totally surprised it was so nice, and would love some more if you are able to free it from the bottle, thank you!
Thank you, Coin-op <3 Hey, that's a really good idea. What are some lily/pear perfumes? I'm drawing a blank. I can't even think of many lily or pear perfumes separately, though I ADORE Passage d'Enfer, so that might be a contender 🙂
just read up Passage d”enfer, sounds like a serious contender, and what an ironic name if you do choose it, ha ha! Do you guys have a date set?
The only Lilly perfumes I can think of are DK Gold, Anais Anais, Baiser Vole. Pear – English Pear & Freesia – but that doesn’t smell like Pear at all. I am no help, ha.
I know, isn’t that an odd name for a wedding fragrance?! I’ve always thought it’s an odd name for the fragrance in general; the name doesn’t fit it at all. It’s actually named for the street l’Artisan Parfumeur was on, and doesn’t actually have anything to do with l’enfer at all.
Those are lovely suggestions that I will have to sniff! I have a sample of Baiser Vole, I think! The other ones I’ll have to go and seek out 🙂
Big congrats, Koyel! Also adding my (very late) admiration/appreciation of the fabulous design of your engagement ring! (I thought often of you and your four-leggeds over the last month or so. Hope your dad is managing well.)
Thank you, FearsMice, for all of those things <3 We miss our little four-legged who has left us very, very, very much. We picked up his ashes from the crematorium on Saturday. We're not really sure what to do with them (scatter them on the balcony?), but at least now we don't regret NOT getting his ashes.
My father's chemo treatment ended on Thursday!! He's not feeling totally normal just yet, but at least he's all done for now!!! There are a few checkups left, but everything looks good 🙂
Congratulations Koyel!! Wedding perfume is a tricky business, but whatever you pick it’s nice because it will remind you of your wedding whenever you wear it going forward. I would suggest one you don’t already wear all the time, just so you can have that lovely association in the future.
Thanks, nastywoman <3 How's the baby doing? Still don't see you here much!
You have good points. What was your wedding perfume? Do you think you picked wisely?
Congratulations, Koyel, for making your fitness goal and for the wonderful news about your father! What an awesome post!
Thanks, Jalapeno <3 Thanks for all your optimism and support 🙂 I love your comments.
Hi Koyel,
Well done! I’m preparing on instituting a no buy period for myself. The cashmere stole sounds splendid.
Regarding pear perfumes – you know La Belle Helene, yes? MDCI’s lovely gourmand is topped with pear.
Keep up the great momentum!
Ooooh, I’ve never tried that one, actually, but now I’ll have to find myself a sample. It sounds great!
And thanks 🙂
Ah, I just finished my decant or I’d over to send you a smidge!
That’s very sweet of you, but no worries 🙂 We don’t even have a wedding date set, so I have plenty of time to either find a sample or get to a shop where they carry it!
Testing Eau de Minthe, which went on like straight up men’s cologne. Now that its calmed down, I’m getting herb-y geranium. Not feelin’ it for long term, but for this morning I am enjoying it. Looking for geranium scents? Eau de Minthe should be on your ‘to try’ list.
I have a feeling I can skip this one!
You can. Full stop.
Yeah, I didn’t enjoy that one. It was very men’s cologne to me.
Sounds like I can give this one a pass.
Hermes Eau de Neroli Dore, spritzed on over some lavender/vetiver body oil I bought from a local craftsperson over the weekend. The oil has a really pleasant herbal-earthiness that I think will layer well with my lighter, cologne-style perfumes.
SOTD is Datura Noir. It’s keeping me happy as I try to wake up today.
YUM, you smell great Dorsey!
Love Datura! You smell wonderf!
Having a very late morning, devouring my book and having a French press in bed! Put on a spritz of Osmanthe Yunnan which I wore yesterday too. I’ll put something else later, I’m sure, but for now I’m smelling apricotty.
Num. French Press. Double-num, that it’s in bed with a good book! I have been a lifelong pour-over gal, but sometimes I really appreciate the “chewiness” of French press coffee. . . might have to buy a single-serve so I can have the option, when the notion strikes!
Smelling great.
Robin, I’ve been excited for this weeks CP. I’m not qualified to do a week of Dylan, so I’m going to do 4 days of The Stones and Dylan on Friday. Legend has it that Bob Dylan once said to Keith Richards that he could have written Satisfaction but Keith could not have written Tambourine Man. Keith said you’re right but i’d like to hear you sing it. Lol! Keith is also quoted as saying he would play with Bob anywhere, Heaven or Hell. Anyway…
Sotd is Angel and I’m matching it with Get off my cloud.?
In case anyone is worried that it’s to hot to wear Angel, it’s 48 degrees.
Nice! (Scent pairing I mean, not the weather☹️ 48 here too)
Thank you!
I love those quotes, thank you for sharing them!!
Glad you enjoyed them. Keith has alot of good and funny quotes.
Excellent story, and I had never heard it, thank you!
You’re welcome! There is a lot of great history between the classic rock bands. I just eat it up.
I love that story! Looking forward to what else you come up with this week ?
It was actually harder than I thought it would be!
Wow, that is a cool approach to the CP! You are so creative lillyjo.
Aww… thanks Jalapeno. I’m not really. I just love music and perfume.
Hi lillyjo! A fellow music/perfume lover here. Just so happens that I’ve been re-submerged in Beggars Banquet and Exile on Mainstreet lately. I remember reading those Keef/Bobbie D quotes. Great song/perfume pairing with Angel and GOMC!!
Hey thanks! I love reading the history of when and how both those albums were made. 2 of the best ever. !
PdN Vetyver today. It’s my friYAY! ?
Woo hoo! Enjoy your weekend!?
Enjoy your days off!
Yay! Enjoy your free time!
Yay for friyay! Enjoy!
Hurray for Fri-YAY!
Vanille Insensee for me today. This is a really good one. I am wearing the same shirt I wore a couple of hours yesterday and it’s still on there, so I resprayed. It’s cool here today so it’s really nice.
You smell great! One of my favorites.
Ditto!
I have 10mls if you need back up! It’s languishing in my perfume drawer.
SOTD: Aqua Vitae Forte
I appreciate Bob’s lyrics but can’t stand the voice. Sorry, fans!
Finally getting some sun and heat. Gotta love going from low 50s to 80 degrees in a weeks span of time.
I’m with you, floragal – one of the cultural heathens who just don’t enjoy listening to that nasal, ever-changing pitch.
I think a lot of fans treat him more as a poet than a singer. He’s my dad’s generation, and I don’t think Dad ever really listened for the *music*, more for the message.
I do love other’s covers of his songs!
I’ve never managed to take the time to appreciate the lyrics because of the voice! Perhaps I need to seek out covers.
I used to hate his voice. Didn’t quite hate Leonard Cohen’s voice but didn’t love it either.
I am a convert…I think after you know the songs really well you realize nobody else sings them as well.
Am I imagining this? Wasn’t there a moratorium on talking about Bob Dylan on NST? Not that I think there is a problem!
Am I totally making this up? It is entirely possible I am losing my marbles–the few that I have left.
If it is any consolation, I sometimes confuse the conversations I have in my head with those that actually happen and involve other people.
Too funny!
Bob Dylan, politics and religion. You know, all those subjects one avoids at holiday meals. . . ?
?
From the comment policy:
“It is also true that while we frequently allow the discussion to veer away from perfume, we generally try to avoid topics (like politics, or negative remarks about Bob Dylan) that tend to start arguments.”
Ahah!
Your wisdom and vigilance have created a warm, civil space online!
Robin, I didn’t know you were a Dylan fan! I am, too. Sometimes I spend weeks just trying to pick apart Love & Theft. Other weeks it’s nonstop Blood on the Tracks (the greatest break up album in the history of rock and roll imo…)
Bronyraur, I am a huge fan — I listen to all of it, but probably mostly older stuff. Probably 60% of my total music listening is Dylan.
SSS Bee’s Bliss for the World ? Day. I’m amazed it can be that cold here in May. (13C/56F at 9 a.m.) Amazed, not complaining, mind you.
Monday… Oh, well, nothing can be done. But I’ll leave the majority of the U.S. readers with a good thought: think about the next Monday 🙂
You smell so great! I am complaining about it.
Today is our holiday in Canada (Victoria Day). 🙂
SummerByKenzo
84F yesterday, 86F today
Perfect choices for such weather!
Was mentioning the community project to my husband and he told me about a William Shatner version of Tambourine Man. Oh dear god, is it awful! My SOTD has nothing to do with that but is instead the ever lovely French Kiss from Guerlain
The first Shatner music album (that should be “music” album–Transformed Man, if you search it out) is hillariously bad. He does this artsy Shakespeare dramatic reading and then matches it with a “current” (1970’s) song performance–amazing and wonderfully awful, in my opinion!
The second album (Has Been) is legitimately good. He does his own poetry/spoken word and song lyrics, and it is sensitive, funny, and a pretty good listen.
OMG. It is exquisite in its awfulness.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0hTtsqiFCc
I’m not sure I could distinguish between Shatner and Dylan ?
Oh gosh it’s hilarious!
I think that is the same album that has his version of “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.” I remember hearing that song as a kid and wondering why on earth it ever was recorded.
The Shatner version, not the original!! Just to clarify.
Seriously, I would love to know what he was thinking.
Methinks Pink Quartz is lovely and that you smell great, Robin.
I’m in Extrait d’Atelier Maitre Jardinier today, it’s a new launch from this brand. A green floral with an incensy-balmy finish.
Why thank you! Your scent sounds lovely.
I’m feeling very proper in 31 Rue Cambon.
Very elegant indeed!
Thanks, Ede, and you smell great in Red Roses!
Thank you!
Beautiful choice!
Thanks, pl67! All the best to you! ?
No SOTD, yet, but I’m about to venture upstairs and shower, so there may be something soon. . . I may dig out the endless sample pile and try a few things. Convalescing seems like a good excuse to cross some samples off of my list.
We have the blinds folks coming over to install blinds today, which is lovely. No more will we have the college aesthetic of random fabric thumbtacked to the windows to provide privacy! Also, lots of work being done in the basement–banging, clanging and grinding. It will be nice when our home is finished. 🙂
I did my own drapery, but next year I would like proper blinds! I want
the ones that are pleated and sheer at the same time! How exciting!
Blinds are definitely an investment, but they sure add a lot to the comfort of a home! I bought the top-down-bottom-up style honeycomb blinds at my last place, and it was one of the best purchases/improvements I made. We ordered honeycomb blinds again for this place, and I like that they let light in but obscure the view inside.
Ah- so that is what they are called! Okay! So I think you are right! I get a LOT of sunlight but I am exposed to (nice) neighbors who surely do not want to see me walking around in my underwear!
Exposed. snicker.
Update: SOTM Kerosene Pretty Machine, from the sample pile. Smells nice. ?
Yum.
Hope your convalescence goes well — and quickly!
Thank you. I must say, it’s been just under a week so far, and I am truly bored looking at the interior of my (albeit new) house! I am literally surounded by projects I can’t do, yet, so I must twiddle my thumbs and imagine doing them. . . later. sigh. At least installation is included in the blinds purchase, so I get to enjoy that improvement before I’d be able to do the work myself!
Hi everyone,
SOTD is Davidoff’s Cool Water Wave, aquatic/peony/freesia/iris/guava. Kinda nice for today’s humid weather!
If anyone likes Fantasy YA novels, Black Bird of The Gallows (book 1) & The Keeper of Bees (book 2) by Meg Kassel were excellent.
Oh, but that sounds just about perfect for humid weather!
And adding more books to my list!
Ede97005 – let me know what you think of the books! I also read Salem’s Lot by Stephan King. Holy cats alive that book scared the bejeesus out of me!
I should pull out my Cool Water Wave and give it a sniff.
Happy Day After Game Of Thrones!
1) Yoooooo. You know who I feel sorry for? Drogon!
2) But seriously,. for all of the faults, I liked the ending. It was ending of one song, and the beginning of another. Things go on, and it was nice to see that.
3) Am in Red Roses by JM.
Agreed on your GoT statements.
Wearing a couple spritzes of D’Orsay Tilleul since it’s my first jacket less day and wouldn’t want to squash it.
I added a few sprays of my newly gifted Provence Sante Tilleul which my MIL sent me for my upcoming bday. It was a blind “buy” and I really like it! It’s much more honeyed and powdery than the D’Orsay. Smells very natural and pretty!
You smell lovely! I adore D’Orsay Tilleul, and the other Tilleul sounds great too.
Thank you! The D’Orsay is so fleeting, though. The other linden has more staying power. And it’s really a bargain- $30 for 100ml.
Ohhh, another Provence Sante Tilleul lover! If you haven’t tried the soap or lotion in Tilleul, do try it – you’re in for a real treat!
That soap is on my Amazon list for when I use up the 3 currently in my shower. I have therabbitsflower to thank for the D’Orsay precious and the PS inspiration. It is really lovely.
The D’Orsay is quite fleeting! It’s so lovely while it lasts though, and I do cherish having a bottle since it’s so hard to find now.
I’m glad the PS is a winner for you. I like it a lot, and yeah, what a bargain! I can’t wait to start using the shower gel soon.
87 degrees today! Love it! Wearing PdE Corsica Furiosa to beat the heat. Perfection!
Omg! 87F?!???
Corsica Furiosa!! ?
And it will drop to the 50’s tonight! Back to 70 tomorrow! The temps here are like a roller coaster, but I am enjoying this break a lot!
Whew that’s hot, but you smell fantastic!
Thank you! Very hot, but no complaints! 😀
Enjoy your lovely weather!
I am! Working outside for a couple of hours and it feels really good! ?☀️
It is hot! My hubs is off today and went to Rockaway beach. I’m jealous!
You should be jealous! ?. It is the perfect day to be at the beach. Instead, I spent half of the day at one of the sites. Not the best place to be, but it was ok!
Happy you had a great weather day!
??
Crazy weather today for sure! I wonder if it is a preview of the summer? If so, it’s going to be a hot, humid one! ⛱
The humidity was and is still bad. It feels sticky despite the strong winds we are having now. I think today was a preview of summer!
SOTD is Voyage d’Hermes, which I often forget about (probably because it stays in its box, due to the weirdness of the bottle design). The first five minutes are very fresh, citrus-y and with a little bit of spice. It must be the lemon, but after a while on my skin it takes on a bit of a “spray cleaner” vibe.
I like Voyage, but I tend to forget about it too.
Fils de Dieu. When I first tried this, I was underwhelmed – it just smelled sweet to me. Then I tried it again and fell for it. Now I’m back at underwhelmed. I’m glad I got a decant – still plenty of ml left to make up my mind, but no regrets if it won’t work out. Yay for the swap meet!
I have never made up my mind if I want to own it or not either. Definitely like it though.
85 degrees yesterday… 55 degrees today. No joke.
I’m in Vent Vert, hoping I can convince summer to return. Maybe my ebay bottle isn’t “vintage” enough, but this isn’t turning into the classic chypre I was expecting. Sort of green and sweet. *sad face*
Our temps have dropped drastically as well. I’m not happy lol.
I love Bob, but mostly sung by other people. The only song I really like done by Himself is Knocking on Heaven’s Door.
I cleaned out the garage yesterday and it looks so roomy now! Of course, the car is packed with stuff to go to the dump and I have a “free” pile on the curb. I’m wearing Cologne pour le Soir and looking a pictures of Hermes scarves. Koyel has created a lemming!
just don’t get sucked into that purse forum where you can find pics of scarves in action 🙂
You could fit a lot of scarves in a roomy garage. . .
Oh gosh aren’t those scarves exquisite? If you find yourself near a Hermes boutique, do go in and TOUCH all of those glorious scarves. They look great, but they FEEL even better. They feel so good that I nearly bought a scarf once years ago on a grad student budget. (I didn’t, because that would’ve been horrifically irresponsible, but it was a close thing.)
I don’t have a cashmere one, but two silk ones, which are a little easier to find used for an ok price.
Recommend The RealReal site for luxury scarves, including Hermes. Think you have to create a login in order to shop, but have had good luck with the items purchased. Also filter your color preferences and hide sold pieces to save yourself time.
I second that recommendation! One of my scarves is from there. I was watching it like a hawk until it dropped in price and then pounced…
I bet they are beautiful 🙂
I’ve got my Hermès scarf all picked out for duty free in Amsterdam on the way home from Tanzania. The new washed silk ones are delicious. Haven’t bought one in several years and have sold a few on Real Real, also.
Ooooooooh duty free–that’s a really, really good idea! Ok, I guess I need to wait for my next trip abroad, then….
I went with last week’s CP, wearing some Anais Anais edt and body lotion; I got it for $20 at my local Shoppers Drug Mart about a year ago. I wore this quite a bit when it first came out eons ago, now it may be a bit too sweet for me; I will see how it wears for the rest of the day.
Since it’s still our long weekend here, of course today is the first nice day. I plan on cleaning out the vacuum (my hubby says the hair is clogging up the roller (and yes, it is MY hair; he doesn’t have much so I can’t blame him). At least he will vacuum so there’s a trade off somewhere.
Then we plan on walking up to our pub for lunch and sit outside on their deck.
Enjoy your Victoria day! We are thrilled to be at 24C for the first time this year! It’s really windy and we had rain this morning, but we’ll take it.
Thank you! Glad you are finally getting some warm weather too! The wind, not so much.
Well, I needed to wear something light and I did a little too well on that front. Boy, what is up with the longevity of Angeliques Sous la Pluie?! It lasts max two hours on me, probably even less. It’s so lovely while it lasts though.
I had a really great weekend, which sometimes makes Monday extra hard. Today I’m in a pretty good state of mind though. My often annoying coworker is at a conference those week, so that helps my outlook. He was especially annoying last Friday, so I’m really looking forward to a break from him.
Both sad and relieved that Game of Thrones is done. I so hope that George R.R. Martin finishes the book series because his take on it is what I really want.
Did he have anything to do with the TV ending?
From what I understand he provided the show runners with the major plot endings, but not the details. And he would take a much longer time to get to some of the things the show jumped to. I’m a big fan of the series and want more closure than a rushed ending on tv can give,
Thanks! As it happens just saw an article about this today: https://www.cnn.com/2019/05/21/entertainment/game-of-thrones-ending-george-rr-martin-blog-trnd/index.html
Elizabeth Arden Green Tea today. It’s another hot day today.
Hot here too!
Simple Twist of Fate
Amouage sample
I’ve been out of the fragrance loop for a while, and I can’t get over the newer naming schemes of the Amouage line! I remember when they seemed so much more “fancy.” I know it doesn’t make any sense but “Lyric” and “Ubar” seems more high-end sounding than “Simple Twist of Fate.”
In any case, how are you liking it? The Amouages that work for me I adore.
I think that’s the Bob Dylan song title, Simple Twist of Fate, and I’m guessing she is trying Amouage Fate. 🙂
Ah, thank you. I did say I’ve been out of the perfume loop for a while!
But “Twist of Fate” would be a good name for a perfume. . . and a mystery novel, and a band too!
Yes, seems like something Josh at Imaginary Authors would create–with notes of wet ink and bookbinding, or some such.
Ha, this pairing is on my list for this week.
Trying Kyse Bonbons a la Vanille today which is quite enjoyable to my vanilla-obsessed nose. ?
I love that one, got the edp and the body cream. She is coming out with a new marshmallow one shortly. Yum. 🙂
Thank you for the sample!
I am on the website right now debating what size bottle to get and what else I “need”. ?
I think this one is her best work yet imho and the bottle is different so it helps me differentiate b/c I get kind of muddled with her line because they are all pretty much vanillas or gourmands and I keep the names straight on which I like and which I dislike. ? but this one is a winner.
Thanks again for sharing. ?
Thanks for the lemming ?
I noticed there is a spot for a discount code. Do you have one?
Mito EdP for me today. I think of it more as a spring and summer scent, but we’re having some very mild autumn weather – not warm in any absolute sense, but lovely for this time of year.
I’m taking advantage of cool weather and wearing La Fille de Berlin today, instead of making it a Mitsy Monday, as I often do. Speaking of which…
Thank you to those who offered helpful suggestions on Friday for what I should wear to see Avengers: Endgame yesterday! I ended up choosing Mitsouko since it’s only a year off from being the same age as Cap, and, well, I larb Steve. (Ha, Spider-Man joke there.) …Anyway, that was one of the most fun and satisfying movie experiences I’ve had—and I’ve only seen half of the MCU movies!! I need to see it again. ??
Glad you loved the movie!
SotD = 31 rue Cambon
My personal Chanel Mondays continue, and my little sample smells so good!
I’ve had this vial for years, it has aged well to my nose. In the past when I’ve sniffed 31rC it had so much richness and something bordering on harshness, if that makes sense.
Today I’m getting old school classical French perfume real-ness. Josephine Baker would have smelled amazing in 31 rue Cambon. 😀
Have a fantastic Monday, NST friends!
31RC does seem perfect for Josephine Baker.
It’s a little late to say hi, but hi there twin!
I’m wearing a DIY today.
Bourbon Vetiver plus Haitian Vetiver oil generously added in some CDG Cologne Series Citrico and it smells wonderful. I’ve changed the Cologne into at least EDP, if not even extrait concentration ?
Dang!, I don’t know any of those smells, but glad they worked well for you?
Thanks. It’s basically a highly concentrated and smoky vetiver tamed by citrus fruits.
Summer-like weather where I am at today. It is hot and humid. Where did Spring go? I’m waiting to see if it is hot enough for pop-up showers to make an appearance later on. ??
SOTD = back in Nirvana Rose today. It seems to have pooped out early with the heat and humidity. It’s usually an all-day scent for me. I guess I found out how it would behave in summer weather a little early.
It was really humid here yesterday, but not really that hot. Just weird! Maybe NR just needs an extra spray in humidity.
I think maybe my fickle nose is telling me that it’s time to wear a different perfume. ?
So true, seemed like summer today.
I thought I posted earlier. Dang work got in the way again. I work through lunch most days but will usually take a few minutes to post. Oh well, I pressed repeat on Eau de Magnolia. So good…
Sounds like an attack of the Mondays. I forgot to put laundry detergent in a load of wash I was doing today. Kind of embarrassing.
Stupid work!?
Smelling good, Petunia!
Eau de Magnolia is great!
Throw me in with hot and humid. Can I borrow somebody’s dropping temperatures?
Scent is tbd! I was outside. I smell like my conditioner.
Love Bob Dylan and his voice, but not all time favorite. His voice is pretty dreamy to me.
