The (almost) daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 17 May 2019 26 Comments

Oh my goodness. Mitsouko is 100 this year, and just look what Guerlain is doing to celebrate: a bottle decorated by the Hakuichi gilding workshop and calligraphy artist Suitou Nakatsuka. 3099 were made — surely one of them will turn up at TJ Maxx, right?? 75 ml, €650.

For that price, at least they could’ve given you Lalique crystal. It’s a great bottle but not *that* great. :/

Interesting — I think it is one of the best they’ve ever done.

It’s very pretty but I prefer the one they did some years ago that was the colorful porcelain edition. NOW that one I coveted!

The porcelain ones (I think there are 2) were great.

The porcelain ones I loved. This one? Meh. But different strokes and all that!

This is gorgeous and I adore Mitsouko and apparently the current version is better than the Fléchier formulation.
Plenty of reasons to get it, but the price.

The price is an effective deterrent, and even more so for me since I do not adore Mitsouko.

What kind of monster are you? lol! But you’re not alone. I like it. And can appreciate it for its importance in perfume history. But I don’t *love* it.

I wonder why they made 3099 ? There must be a reason. Or did they make 4000 and one broke.

I like that scenario. Or someone put her foot down and said forget it, I’m done.

Gorgeous…I took calligraphy and enjoy it..so I really appreciate her artwork. Well done:). Though I will never own it or see the bottle in person due to the price.

It’s like going to a museum: you admire and ooh and aah, but you don’t actually buy anything. Oh well. And a lottery win would clinch it for me, too.

I think I prefer the Arita ones as well, though this is certainly beautiful! If it was vintage parfum, it might justify the price…?

Lovely bottle, but like several other posters have commented, the porcelain special edition bottles were extraordinary. Not a snowball’s chance that I will see any of them.

I hope it would turn out in TJ Maxx haha I haven’t been able to find anything too interesting there or Marshall’s like I used to. Before I was able to find a lot of treasures. Not only that but their prices on perfume are really high now, I can find cheaper deals online. I guess they realized they were getting ripped by us perfume connoisseurs haha
