Happy Almost-Friday and happy Europe Day. What fragrance are you wearing?
I had planned on Hiram Green Moon Bloom today, but then I came down with some sort of nasty virus last night. So instead, I'm commando and will probably stick with tea and kleenex today.
Reminder: on 5/10, wear a fragrance by Heeley, Hiram Green, Histoires de Parfums or Honoré des Prés, if you have one. Partial credit for any other small-ish brand that starts with the letter H.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2019, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Wearing HdP Vert Pivoine. On my skin rose and cedar are very prominent with some greenness. Very pretty and office friendly. One more wear and my decant will be gone. Not full bottle worthy. I will not really miss it.
Oh no, Robin! Hope that virus doesn’t stay long. Hope you feel better soon!
I hope so too, I am sure wiped out. Flu season is over, right??!?
Winter is not over!!!
True, but I thought flu season was. But this sure feels like flu — achy, exhausted, headache, bones ache, the whole 9 yards except I do not at the moment have a fever.
Check for tick bites!
Hope you feel better.
HA — I did! I even made my husband check my scalp and my back. But I think (knock on wood) I am too much better today for a tick-borne disease.
Vert Pivoine is one of my options this week. I kinda forget I have it, and I still have about 18ml in my decant. Pretty and office friendly covers it, I think.
It is definitely a nice no-brainer and it has decent longevity. I can still smell it on my sweater after 6 hours!
Sel Marin Heeley sample.
Pleasant, but I prefer Acqua di Sale Profumum Roma.
Agree with you, Bear!
Totally agree! But you still smell wonderful. 🙂
I’m wearing Youth Dew Amber Nude and feeling bummed that my small bottle is less than half full.
I really enjoyed Youth Dew Amber Nude – really wonderful scent and very sexy. Tom Ford hit it out of the park with this one.
It is sexy! Wish it was still around, Estee Lauder doesn’t discontinue scents that often.
Nope, they don’t.
FYI, just took a quick look. Ebay has a ton of ELYDAN available, some for pretty good prices….
I saw that too! Good to know I could get a backup if I need it 🙂
I hope you get well again soon! Being sick is just a nuisance.
SOTD is Vamp à New York
Ah, good choice.
If, I suspect, Honore des Pres is gone, I wish somebody else on earth would hire Olivia Giacobetti to make some WIDELY distributed fragrances!
Agree, especially if they keep on producing Vamp. I’m more than halfway through my first bottle. (I’ve got a BUB). I won’t mind if they change the name. They can even call it Fruity something, as long as they don’t alter the formula 😉
I wish I’d bought Chaman’s Party before it disappeared, and wish I could remember what the Bonte’s Bloom even smelled like — nobody ever mentions it here so it must not be so fantastic?
Glad I did get carrots at least.
Is it just the US where Honoré is no longer available? Their website still carries Chaman’s Party and there are still shops in the Netherlands carrying the line.
I’m sorry…I really shouldn’t have worded that the way I did! They certainly aren’t carried in as many stores here as they once were, and given that they also stopped releasing new fragrances, I sort of assumed they were done, and would eventually disappear once they sold out of everything. But I could be quite wrong so I will keep my mouth shut a few more years and see 🙂
I’m in Feu Secret for what I’m expecting to be another ridiculously busy and fraught day at work.
Good luck! You smell great.
So sorry you are sick Robin! I am wearing Mitzah on this cold windy day. Storm blowing in tonight.
Darned cold here too, although I have a feeling you mean a different level of cold 😉
Very late last night I tried HdP 1828, which I think is “Jules Verne.” The combination of notes listed sounded like something I’d like, but I wasn’t thrilled with how the combination actually smelled on my skin the first few minutes after application. I conked out before I could wash it off. I’ll give it another chance sometime, but for now I like “Casanova” much better.
I remember liking Casanova- I should revisit that one since I’m enjoying/craving lavender lately.
Oh! I think I need to try Casanova then. I’ve been on a lavender binge lately also with Creed’s Aberdeen Lavander and SL Encens et Lavande at bedtime. Also tried the new (ish?) Tom Ford Lavender Extreme over the weekend and really liked it. May be searching out at least a decant or larger sample to give it a further test run. Have you tried the TF?
I haven’t! Is it very sweet? Some of them are too vanillic for me.
It was a just spray on a test strip at NM, but I didn’t find it sweet at all. Some nice depth to it, as I recall but couldn’t say from what, LOL. Not the best at picking out any but the most obvious notes : )
I’m wearing HdP 1826.
Ohhh yuck Robin, so sorry to hear you’re sick! I hope you feel well soon!
SOTD is Piguet’s Bandit extrait – I’m feeling the need for galbanum and leather today, but just a dab or two. 🙂
I finished off yesterday with Sonoma Scent Studio’s Incense Pure, and added a spritz of Chanel No. 22 EDC, boy was that a lovely bed time scent.
That’s a trifecta there! I have not worn Bandit in ages.
I wore No. 22 to bed last night too!
Sorry you are sick, Robin. Get better.
I tried Heeley Verveine d’Eugene in the morning. I love the citrus notes in it, but unfortunately rhubarb smells a bit weird in this scent. Maybe the combinationof rhubarb and blackcurrant does not work very well for me? Apart from that, it’s a delicious citrus-fruity perfume. Recommended for fans of verbena and rhubarb.
In the afternoon, I sprayed some Heeley Menthe Fraiche. Will probably finish my sample today. I described it earlier, so I will only say that I do not want to buy a full 100 ml bottle for 130 euros but still hope to get a decant one day.
If they did a little, reasonably priced bottle of Cardinal I would buy it for sure.
Yes, they should make more of those 15 ml travel sprays.
Feel better Robin!
In Le Labo Bergamot 22 from a sample. Brightens the rainy day 🙂
You smell lovely and cheerful!
2nd that!
It’s my birthday ?
Wearing my sample of Memo winter palace, will report in later.
Feel better, Robin!

Happy birthday, apsara! You are smelling great today. ?
Happy birthday!
Happy Birthday! Hope you are having a great day!
Thank you for so many happy birthday wishes!
35 days to Africa! That’s my gift to me.
I must say that Winter Palace is not for me. I had high hopes. It starts out pleasantly enough, fresh with blood orange, but but noonish or so all I could smell was powdered blood orange. I had been wearing box of eels for a few days and the difference between one that to me is masterfully blended and one that has a bottle with a dragon I had a hankering for…well I’m not buying a bottle.
Guerlain Terracotta Voile d’Eté. It’s sunny (though cool) and I was in the mood for a shot of carnation.
Voile d’Ete is so nice, you smell great.
Carnation you say? I am eagerly awaiting my swap sample of the original Terracotta but you have just created another thing to Google stalk!
Any carnation perfume ideas would be welcome.
Love them!
Histoires de Parfums 1725 Casanova.
Ha!
Hello, darling ???
Hello 🙂
Moderately mainstream Thurs in Montale Pure Gold from a Scentbird decant.
Robin, I hope you feel better.
I don’t miss the rain and gloom but my allergies have returned with a vengence.
I’m not feeling my H perfumes today so I went with La Cri de la Lumiere.
Hmmm. You smell fab!
Sorry about your allergies Petunia, it’s quite a price to pay for good weather.
H or no H, you are smelling wonderful!
We took your rain and gloom! Matches my health today 😉
I hope it passes quickly!
Amyitis MdO. My first niche perfume.
This one must be very special to you.
Negligible points in Jour d’Hermes parfum.
Thanks for keeping me and Mayhem in your thoughts. Still miss him like crazy, but we’re getting by. Mischief (his sister) is doing ok, just a bit clingier than usual. (Well, and also she has been trying to pass a hairball for the past week and has had a persistent cold for a while, so we’re taking her to the vet today, but globally, emotionally, she seems ok.)
We’re going on an intensive ring shopping expedition this Saturday and Sunday, hitting up a number of shops and showrooms ranging from SF to Monterey. Wish me luck. I see rings behind my closed eyes, and have learned more about diamonds than I ever thought I’d know. Any tips would be deeply appreciated.
And feel better, Robin! Today’s pic is a pretty clever choice.
Whatever you need, flickr’s got it 😉
Just catching up on comments, Koyel. I’m sorry to hear about Mayhem, but many congratulations on your engagement! I’m afraid I have no diamond buying tips whatsoever, though.
Thank you, NovemberRose, on both counts <3 That's ok, I think the biggest thing I need in terms of a ring purchase is just to figure out what I want. Too many options.
Glad to hear you’re healing from Mayhem’s loss and that Mischief is handling it really well. I am tickled pink that you used “globally”.
The least romantic advice: If you plan on wearing the ring often after you’re married, getting a nice one makes sense; if not, you’re just getting it for the next generation to inherit.. My grandmother had a ring with 3 diamonds. Before she passed, she repurposed the diamonds to a pair of diamond studs and a pendant.
Agree with this advice. I would also say, think about what kind of setting fits the way you live as well. My husband surprised me with my ring, and after 20+ years I’m still thinking I need to have it reset to be more sleek and low profile.
Haha 🙂 That’s really good advice. We went to Tiffany and I tried on a really beautiful ring with a sharp and uncomfortable edge. The SA insisted I’d get used to it very quickly, but I have my doubts. Reading your comment further solidifies my idea that the SA and I have different ideas of how I should live my life.
Another vote for low profile! I also think a lot about resetting my ring, but I never get around to it. I basically don’t wear it anymore. The high profile rings are beautiful, the potential for catching them on gloves, small people, etc. is too high.
Same — I don’t wear it. I wish I had gotten a fancier band and skipped the engagement ring altogether.
That is good advice, but I am definitely planning to wear it every day! I wear my class ring consistently, so I think I can manage a daily engagement ring, too 🙂 (I went to a school where the class ring was a Big Deal.)
That’s good advice hajusurri! I haven’t worn my wedding or engagement rings in almost 18 years. They stopped fitting my finger during my 1st pregnancy, and I’ve never bothered to have them re-sized. Truthfully, I’ve never been one to wear rings, so I’ve never missed them…..
CONGRATULATIONS Koyel! Exciting times straight ahead for you!
In time, you will remember only the good moments with Mayhem and I’m so glad for you that you can still get cat cuddles.
For the ring, if you go for diamonds maybe consider whether you want it set in yellow gold or white gold or platinum. I wear my aunt’s engagement ring every day and I like the less showy platinum the diamond is set in, but it’s just me and my two cents.
Yeah, we talk a lot about the good moments with Mayhem <3 there really weren't many bad moments, because as soon as it looked like his life was going to get bad, we said goodbye; we wanted his last days to be happy and comfortable.
Good point about the metal. Because of my darker skin color, I think rose gold might be the least "showy." I tried on a ring in rose gold with a peach diamond set in it, and it looked like my finger just naturally had tremendous sparkle and glow to it, if that makes any sense. (I guess, my skin color is the skin version of rose gold?) On the other hand, platinum looks so pretty and shiny on me, and what if I develop allergies to the copper/silver in the rose gold? But I will keep in mind that since I'm not a very blingy person, less showy would probably be good.
rose gold with peach diamond sounds stunning!
Oops, I think I was supposed to call it “champagne-colored” >.> I’ll get there.
The way you describe it, the rose-gold sounds like it complements your skin tone beautifully. 🙂
Another thing you mentioned, about one ring you tried having a sharp edge — that really does not sound like something a person would “get used to.”
I don’t wear much in the way of jewelry — I give most of the earrings and necklaces and such that I make to my mother — and don’t wear rings. But I think the suggestions above about comfort as well as beauty being a consideration make great sense. Also as mentioned, especially if you’ll be wearing it under gloves, you wouldn’t want something that was too high or spiky!
Good luck with the shopping!
Oh that’s a good reminder, about the gloves. I do regularly wear gloves for work (I work partly in a lab). Hmmm, that’s definitely something I should keep in mind. Thanks!
Yay for ring shopping! You smell great. Glad Mischief seems to be okay.
Thanks, KellyC <3 She's very fuzzy.
My ring shopping suggestion is to not forget about vintage or second hand rings. If you have some favorite vintage stores that carry fine jewelry, check there too. I’m technically engaged, though my boyfriend and I decided after getting engaged that we really don’t care about getting married. I don’t cal him my fiance since we have no plans to marry. But we’ve been together for 13 years and technically engaged for 7.5 years. So I wear an engagement ring. I saw it at my favorite vintage store and was so drawn to it . When I tried it on, it fit perfectly. Didn’t even need to be resized. So, consider vintage too!
Now is a time I wish NST had picture capabilities, I’d love to see your ring! I love vintage rings too; my husband and I do not wear rings but if we did I’d certainly have wanted a vintage one.
Emailed you pics! ?
I wish that too! I wanted to post pics of the top contenders to see what y’all think of them.
Email me a pic too, please!
Thanks for the reminder, though this means the field of choices is even bigger than I thought >.> I’d mostly just have to look at vintage settings with new stones, though, since I’m interested in lab-generated stones. I did see that Brilliant Earth (which does lab diamonds) has a vintage section; that seems worth a look.
If you like vintage settings, it’s a nice idea. You can take a vintage band to a jeweler to be polished. I have my original diamond which is in a high profile setting. These days I wear my grandmother’s ring.
It is a low profile antique basket setting and is sentimental, pretty and practical.
I think you’ll know which ring is right for you when you see it.
That sounds lovely 🙂 Yes, I’ve really been liking the antique rings I’ve been looking at today! And high profiles do seem pretty inconvenient….
We got married after 15 years together so we just got matching rings he had made by someone we know. They have little symbols that are meaningful to just us and our relationship. His version is solid and mine is almost a filigree style with small diamond chips. I’m happy with it and it’s comfortable to wear.
That’s very sweet 🙂
Here’s my advice
Remember that the SA is not your friend, they want to sell you something. Also, bigger does not mean better. Good luck!
Haha, thanks for the reminder! You’re definitely right about that.
As for the second comment, also good to remember! Luckily, that’s not a factor I was in danger of forgetting, since I have leetle fingers and bigger stones would overwhelm my hands.
Congrats Koyel on your engagement and my condolences about Mischief. Hopefully that’s the last of your sorrows as we say in Arabic
Thank you on both counts, yasmina <3 I hope so too!
Congratulations on your engagement!
My sincere condolences regarding your little furbaby. And it sure is hard watching the little ones deal with losing their buddies. Sounds like you are good to each other.
Thank you, AnniePerfumes <3 Yeah, it is hard, but you’re right–we are there to support each other.
Spent 8 years as a professional goldsmith, so I can definitely provide advice if you have questions. Nothing that could fit in a pithy comment, because I could write reams and reams and reams.
There are pros and cons to nearly every choice you’re going to make—White gold or platinum? Diamond or no? Do I optimize color or clarity, or sacrifice both for budget? Princess cut, round, something else?—the key is making the choices that best meet your goals, and work with people that are going to set your expectations appropriately about how those materials are going to wear over time, given your lifestyle, whatever that may be.
Oh gosh, I have all those questions! If you’d care to elaborate, my email address is ko bhatta at the gmail!
Finally feeling up to perfume again. I had my poor abscessed tooth out and a bone graft placed one day, and the next I came down with a killer stomach virus. Good times. I can really think of much better ways to spend vacation days.
Wearing Marc Jacobs Daisy, which I never really gave the time of day to before. (I think the plastic flowers put me off.) But, hey, Sephora sent me a sample. And really, it’s very nice. Not earth-shattering, but pleasant and friendly. Simple but not stupid. Sunny and a little sweet and good company.
Ack! Forgot to say, feel better soon, Robin!
Ha, NovemberRose an abcessed tooth and bone graft and stomach virus beats my little whatever I have!
Totally agree about Daisy.
Wow, that all sounds terrible. Glad you’re feeling better!
Ugh. That does sound pretty awful.
I also find Daisy perfectly pleasant.
It sounds awful! Feel better!
This is awful, especially on vacation. I hope you are in a better health soon.
I agree Daisy is a very well done scent.
And most important, may this virus go away, and I hope you won’t have any more problem with that tooth.
Oh goodness that sounds so horrible. Glad you’re feeling better.
Hope you heal fast and well from all of that!
Oh, spending vacation days being sick and recovering from dental distress is just. wrong.
Sending you iron stomach and healthy pearly whites vibes!
Hope you get better soon!
I’m so sorry about your health double whammy! Feel better soon. ?
I hope you’re back to normal very soon.
Ouch! Hope you feel better soon. As I age I’m developing a fear of the dentist I never had when younger. I’m having sympathy pains for you!
My parents were stuck at the airport most of the day yesterday due to storms in their connection in Dallas but they made it to California. My dogs are driving me crazy. The puppy is stealing everything and trying to destroy things because she is confused. Haven’t figured out what perfume yet. I think that I will wear Shalimar to work in spite of it being skanky.
The skank in Shalimar never stops me from wearing it to work haha.
Turns out I grabbed Theorema instead of Shalimar. That’s okay, haven’t worn it in a while.
SOTD is Samsara. Needed something reliably comfortable after a few scrubber samples last night (including HdP This Is Not A Blue Bottle, which I was testing out before the CP—hard No!, so won’t be participating— and accidentally bought 2 samples of, ugh).
Ugh, sorry Not A Blue Bottle is horrid!
SOTD is Heeley Cardinal, from a sample. It’s a little too much for work, I think, so good thing it’s just a couple dabs. The labdanum is strong in this one.
Yes it is, but I do like that Heeley.
Kelly Caleche edp today. It’s a good grey day perfume.
Sorry you’ve caught a bug, Robin ? I hope it’s short lived!
Agree that is a good grey day perfume! You have reminded me to try to finish what is left in my bottle now.
It is, especially for grey days that aren’t too cold since it also smells kind of fresh.
You smell lovely, glad it made a grey day better.
Thank you Aurora!
You smell good.
Merci!
Good morning Y’all…..
Overslept and didn’t choose a frag this morning, but luck was with me….I had a sample of Prada Infusion d’Iris Cedre in my purse. Smelling good!
SMELLY NEWS ALERT: Yves Rocher has a seasonal summer fragrance available in the US this year! (I’ve been sending them occasional emails begging for their Christmas scents to be available here, but I’ll certainly take a summer scent too!) Just ordered a bottle of “My Green Summer”, a citrus/mint EdT. Looking forward to trying it soon……
I just got one… I think I will enjoy it chilled on super hot days. I don’t have it on skin yet due to my SOTD hanging in there, but on paper it’s green and cheerful!
Honoré des Prés Nu Green today. Had to use a whole sample vial and 3 hours later I can’t smell it anymore. Have dabbed Le Jardin de Monsieur Li over it, which I had in my purse for some reason.
Hope you feel better soon, Robin.
Nu Green never lasted on me, either, and it was light to begin with……
I think it’s hard to do an all natural green that lasts.
I’m sorry for your being sick, Robin, and join in with others’ well-wishes. My SOTD is HdP Ambrarem. Oud, amber, pink pepper, iris, rose. It’s pretty potent (as I think most of their scents are) but it’s unusual and complex and keeps my attention. I’ve got three of their scents, so will have to make a major choice for tomorrow and the CP! Guess I’ll see what my mood is–and the weather–we’ve got many more inches of rain in the forecast with possible flooding (again).
Hope you feel better soon, Robin!
SOTD = Chanel Coromandel EDT
It’s still cold enough to wear fall / winter perfumes so here we are. I’m down to perhaps 40% of the bottle but I have a BUB.
With the royal baby named, we had a good time yesterday afternoon at work reminiscing over our favorite “Archie”. Mine was going to the office with my dad and stopping at a little (and I mean teeny-tiny little) hole in the wall newspaper / comic book / cigar shop and picking out an Archie comic book!
Such a sweet “Archie” memory! and you smell great!
Twins! I got this as a sample recently and giving it a first full wear today. Lovely.
Hello all!
1) Gonna be a very warm day today, so I gave all the plants a deep drink. This weekend is a summer preview and whoo boy is it a scorcha.
2) Am in Cap Neroli- which is perfect!
Heeleys Hippie Rose today, a no brainer for rainy days for me, pretty, elegant, and comforting.
Cuir Pleine Fleur again today. I really like it despite the abysmal longevity on me. I’ll use up all I got from Oakland Fresca and then think about a bottle (like I need more perfume…).
Curiously addicting. . . .;-)
Not needing more perfume didn’t stop me from four blind buys yesterday with Fragrancenet’s 37% off coupon. I would like to graciously share Donatella points for that with one of you peeps, who mentioned the coupon here….I don’t remember who it was, but you know who you are. 🙂
So what did you buy??
A few bargain basement items: Histoire d’Amour, Jai Ose, Mackie Iridescence (all in the ten buck range), and the slightly more expensive Aramis Calligraphy Saffron. I can’t help it – I get optimistic.
Report back
Feel better, Robin! I am in Hiram Green Shangri La today. Have the travel size – it’s the only one I HAD to buy, and now it’s discontinued, I believe due to ingredient restrictions. It’s quite tenacious – even after 6 hours it’s still wafting around me.
I feel exactly the same about SL and also own the travel size. You smell great!
Keep warm and well hydrated Robin, hoping like everybody this cold will be short-lived, this kleenex box looks rather posh.
I am in Bottega Veneta Eau de Velours.
Happy birthday!
To aspara, of course! Oops on misplaced post.
Osmanthe Yunnan today, which I just got a new sample of after many years of not smelling it, and it’s confusing!
1. I applied a ton
2. I could hardly smell anything
3. My coworker, who never comments on my perfume, said how much she loved it.
HMMM. I think I may have to give her the rest of my sample.
The same things happens with me with OY. But maybe wait for really hot weather and try again?
My sense of smell comes and goes due to allergies and allergy medications, but I could smell Osmanthe Yunnan strongly after a couple of sprays from a 2 ml sample sprayer. *shrugs* It’s mysterious to me, too.
Feel better soon Robin!
I am in Myhrre Eglantine- the next only perfume that regularly gets compliments. I must say myself that I do smell nice.
Went to toddler’s daycare for mother’s day celebration- they made us blueberry cornbread. I tried not to think about the amount of snot and drool that may have ended in it, just the love!
Baking kills germs 😉
Yes that’s what I bargained on!
Robin, feel better soon.
Today I’m wearing Guerlain Apres d’Onde.
Excellent choice!
Friday here, so I’ll be wearing Hiram Green’s Shangri-La. I did think at first it was a bit a sweet, but changed my mind after a couple of wearings, and now have a FB.
I hope you’re feeling better soon, Robin.
In Coromandel, because I’ve been wanting to give it a full try and I have no meetings of any kind today. I love it!
Robin, I hope you feel better stat!
Jicky, because i long for warm und sunny weather. Topped up with Covet in the evening.
Made a,quiche with asparagus und Feta for dinner. Boyfriend was pleased. We will have to visit bis Father i n Hospital o n saturday, was admitted for heart valve problems. More problems to cope with….
Tannina I must say that you make the best sounding dinners! Are you a chef?
No, I am a radiation oncologist, but I love to cook
I would love to sample your quiche! Do you have a secret way of keeping the asparagus from being too moist or, to put it more bluntly, sweating? I’ve tried to include it in quiches but it always gets watery.
I used fresh asparagus, baked the dough for 10 min, then put the asparagus on the dough without the filling and baked another 10 min. Then I put the filling over the quiche and baked for 25 min.
You could also try to pan fry the asparagus before putting it on the dough, just don’t precook it
Quiche sounds lovely. Thankfully I already ate!
Sending positive thoughts for BF’s father.
I’m in Prada Infusion de Vetiver today. Nice and citrusy, great for my late morning walk in this humid weather.
I don’t think I need a bottle of this, but then again, it’s competing with the banana bread wafting in the kitchen, so I’m not really sure!
I’m wearing 10 Corso Como. Unfortunately, I can’t enjoy it, because my head is splitting. I think it’s the humidity, idk… nothing is helping, not even chocolate chip cookies, lol, because that’s a remedy right?
Robin, I hope you feel better soon.
I hope your headache heads for the hills soon. And…you smell nice. I like 10 CC but I would sometimes get a little dill in the dry down. A friend of mine wears it beautifully. No pickles in sight.
Aww, sorry you aren’t feeling well, lillyjo. Hope you’re better by now!
I wore Hendley Blond again and am quickly falling for it. I am getting a lot more development today since I’m wearing short sleeves and it’s not getting rubbed against fabric. It starts as a rooty, ashy, yet fruity iris (the osmanthus, I think) and the mid development has the most lovely cantaloupe note paired with jasmine and musk. It’s super interesting! I will likely buy a travel size after I finish my sample. It’s currently sold out on the website, but hopefully they’ll restock it soon.
Oh my Robin I wish you a speedy recovery and minimal discomfort with good pharmaceutical assistance!
I have been in a funk all week and only Ormonde Jayne Woman is calling to me. I may succumb to a FB once I reduce my stash.
I am excited for tomorrow as I have one of the last Hiram Green Shanghai
Bottles for the CP. a crazy blind buy but you had me at OakMoss!
I will read all all this tonite!
SotD = Hiris
My Scented Simplification Project says Thursdays are for Hiris. I love it. Last night I wore Infusion d’Iris before bedtime. Soft iris makes me happy. 😀
Missed posting yesterday, life continues to throw me loop-de-loops, but I stayed calm in Terracotta Le Parfum, my Wednesday favorite!
More experimentation today with the HdP discovery set and an HdP sample from Surrender to Chance.
I tried 1804 (George Sand). I didn’t like the beginning of it, and thought to myself, “Give it a few minutes.” I didn’t like it better after a few minutes, so I wiped my inner arms with witch hazel and then washed them with soft soap, which considerably lessened the smell. Then I tried the sample I got from StC, 1873, which I believe is Colette. I actually really liked 1873. 🙂
It’s odd to me that from the notes listed I would have thought I’d like 1804 and 1828, but apparently I don’t like how those notes blend in those fragrances. idk, folks.
Colette is gorgeous!
Wearing some Prada Amande from my little 8 ml bottle.
It was a beautiful day, too bad I was stuck in a freezing cold office. My cubby buddy and I are going to seal off the a/c ducts tomorrow with some cardboard as they are blowing nearly non-stop right over us. We tried to get the temperature adjusted, but someone keeps changing it back. The temps in the office are so different in areas so no one is happy. Think I will plug in my heater too.
Just read an interesting article — I think in the New York Times — about how office buildings that are sealed off from the outside weather generally have temperatures set for men, as determined for their comfort in the 1960s. (Cis-gendered) men generally are larger and have more muscle mass than (cis-gendered) women. Where a man might be comfortable with the temperature in an office being 70 degrees F, a woman might be more comfortable with the temperature at 75 F. The article had pictures of women wearing blankets and Snugglies at work. If it wasn’t the New York Times, it was the Washington Post. Either way, well worth a read, for the “it’s not just you” factor as well as the science.
That certainly explains alot, including struggles over the temp at home. My husband is comfortable at 69 degrees while I prefer it around 73
It explains *so much*, doesn’t it?
