Monday (argh), International Dance Day, Duke Ellington's birthday. What fragrance are you wearing?
You would not know that it's almost May from the temperature outside this morning. I'm staying warm in Bruno Fazzolari Feu Secret.
Reminder: on 5/3, wear lily of the valley for May Day (which is really on Wednesday).
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2019, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

I had a wonderfully fragrant day!
A birthday is a great excuse to test some Vero’s. I hope you have a great day!
Now I know what all the fuss is about with the Veros…. beautifully crafted.
Happy Scented Birthday CM8! Hugs! ?????? Did you get a birthday cake or some kind of sweet to mark the occasion?
The hubby wanted to take me out but I said no. I would rather watch TV in bed LOL ? ?
My good friends gave me tea, chocolate marzipan, artisanal bread and tricolored Italian cookies so my sweet tooth has been satisfied.
And my elderly parents sent me a picture of themselves celebrating my birthday with cake and coffee from Martha’s bakery in the city!! It looked delicious.
how sweet!
Well that’s okay, then. ?
Hope you’re having an enjoyable birthday! ???
Thanks , AnnE!
Happy birthday!
Thank you!
Woo hoo, happy birthday!
???
Happiest of Birthdays to you!
Thanks!
Happy birthday, Brigitte!
Thanks, OH!!! I now have a whole bunch of samples to test, some of which you have written about recently! Looking forward to that.
39 degrees and raining. Like Robin, trying to stay warm with Dior Addict.
Rescued CD of the day: The best of Linda Ronstandt ??☂
I haven’t listened to Linda Ronstandt in years! Another Spotify playlist to make 🙂
Love Linda. Another fave from that era: Karla Bonoff
Oh sheesh, that’s so cold this close to May!!
Another fan of Linda here!
I remember the waistocoat fashion revolution following the music clip of Blue Bayou. She looked so good and what a great voice. Cold here too!
It was hailing when I mowed on Saturday. What is up with this weather?????
UGH for 39 degrees F and raining! On the other hand, as nasty as it is, it does not need to be shoveled.
Love Linda Ronstadt!
I wore out at least one of those in vinyl, years ago!
Oh, and just googled her wondering how old she was. Did not know she had Parkinsons.
My sense of smell is getting better everyday, for which I’m ever so grateful. Celebrating spring in Sous les magnolias by Pierre Bourdon. I might actually be able to do a week of Muguet. I’ll see what I feel like.
Sorry to hear your weather is still so cold, overhere it’s not as hot as it was last week, but very much like spring. We’ve had some nice rain and everything looks much better as a result.
I love spring rain after a dry spell, everything is rejuvenated and fresh.
Great news about your sense of smell! I hope it’s back up to 100% very soon.
Yay!!
It did get sunnier and warm, and I think tomorrow we will go into the 70s. But right now they are calling for 58 on May 1, which is just weird.
SL Serge Noire. I used to disdain it but then they reformulated it into something I really like (and how rare is that?), adding or amping up a leather note to downplay the incense: it’s not in my top 10 of Lutenses but it’s in my top 20, and that’s good enough.
How rare? This may be the first time I’ve heard someone say that they prefer a reformulated fragrance. I thought there might be a law against it.
Ha!!
It was horrible BO on me when it was first launched. I’m almost afraid to retest it.
I wore that yesterday! I can only wear it when I’m not planning on going anywhere. It takes forever, but at some point all of the cumin-y stuff morphs into a cloud of the most enchanting incense. I’m still not sure if it’s worth the wait. 🙂
I think that I have heard only a couple of people mentioning that they prefer a reformulation to the initial version of a scent. So it’s really unusual in my book!
As much as I hate to admit it, there are a few reforms that I like better, because they are more wearable.
There’s no shame in liking what you like re: perfume!
Chilly and a bit of drizzle in SoCal this morning. Still getting over last night Game of Thrones….
Tigers nest, methinks.
Good pick, what an episode! I may join you in some icy iris!
ISM or gris clair methinks 😉
Yesss!! GoT!!!
Chanel, Misia, one of my favourites for a cool spring day.
Nice!
Robin, you smell lovely again today. I’m in Chanel 19 EDP and wishing I didn’t have to go to work and could stay home and play in my garden – it’s supposed to be a gorgeous day here today. Ah well.
Twins, SheriG!
We smell great (and we have excellent taste)! 😀
I second wishing I could stay home and play in my yard.
Third, except I just wanted to sit on the porch in my rocker, ha! Pretty sure that will happen tomorrow so can’t complain.
Wearing L d’Lolita Lempicka today, just because. It’s pouring rain again but since we had a a little snow Saturday night, mim not complaining. It would be nice to put the sweaters in storage though, since it’s almost May.
Ha, yes I hear you on wanting to put the sweaters away. I just recently put my down parka away and made the transition to my wool coat.
I don’t know why I don’t have more LOTV scents, but I have one for Friday. I’m wearing Bottega Veneta Eau de Velours from a mini that I got last month. I love minis and the companies sell their scents in that size.
You smell lovely.
Keiko Mecheri Un Jour d’Ete to cheer up my Monday.
Hope it works!
Ha – not completely. I’m cheery enough, but not happy about Monday.
Good morning. I am wearing Aqua Allegoria Ginger Piccante today and drinking a cup of Lady Grey tea. I need more caffeine because I am dragging today, so I will make a cup of something stronger.
That is a very handsome picture of Duke Ellington, Robin.
Have a great week everyone !
Isn’t it though? He was a fine looking man when he was young, and distinguished looking later on.
How is Ginger Piccante?
Alaïa today. Why? Because the cap caught my eye as I was trying and failing to make a decision this morning. Something about the texture stood out among all of the shiny caps…
I agree, it’s a stunning packaging, it also goes with my bottle of Habanita.
+1 for Alaia! that is a stunning bottle, I’ve been tempted so many times, must! look! away! 😀
That is a gorgeous bottle. Still too cold for me to wear it, though. Alaia is one of my “height of summer” perfumes.
I’m in Drole de Rose, which I did not like on first sniff but am sort of turning around on after putting some in my bath last night. Somehow that brought out the violet more, and I like it more when I think of it as a violet scent than when I think of it as a rose scent, which makes no sense but is nonetheless true. It’s rare for me to want to smell this kind of dainty-soft-pretty, but this will work for when I do.
Drole de Rose is a beautiful name, very poetic. 😀
I’m wearing MDCI Promesse de l’Aube this morning from a dwindling sample, and wishing I had more. It seems lately I can’t get enough jasmine scents. Not sure what I have with LotV but I’ll do a search soon. After a lazy weekend I’ve got to get back to grading final papers to try to finish out the semester, and I’ll also go visit Mom in her new assisted living apartment. She’s not adapting well, which isn’t surprising after so many recent transitions, but we took her a cat this weekend (one of mine) and I’m hoping that will provide her with some company and comfort. It’s a pretty adaptable cat so I hope she’ll enjoy having Mom’s undivided attention, too.
What a nice idea! I hope that if I ever move into assisted living, someone will bring me a cat.
Good luck – I hope the cat will help your mom.
Jasmine – yum! I haven’t sniffed your SOTD, but if it smells like jasmine then it’s great in my book.
It’s also heavy on citrus, and has ylang-ylang. A good combination, not skanky at all, as some jasmines are (which I also enjoy).
What a sweet idea! I do think our animals give us so much comfort and joy – something that mom will appreciate in her new environment.
An adaptable cat! I am not familiar with those. But what a lovely idea <3 I hope it will help her!
Ha ha ha, right! She came to live with me a year ago after her human couldn’t keep her. She hid under the couch at first but her former human promised me “That won’t last long. She’s too nosy to hide for very long!” and it turned out to be true. She’s already emerged at Mom’s place, too! She is half-Manx and half-Siamese and a very unusual cat.
Your kitty cat sounds adorable! Siamese are very chatty too. 🙂
Ha! Me neither.
Such a thoughtful decision, I bet it will cheer your mum up. But… won’t you miss the cat?
Well, yes, but I’ve got another 10 or 12… lol… Meow (I didn’t name her) is the most adaptable, and fairly sedate, and a great lap cat. Also she doesn’t like living with other cats and should thrive there as the queen of the realm.
Sounds like a good match then! Hope she and your mom are happy together.
LOL, I can picture you turning out pockets and cats tumbling out ?
Oh, wow! That’s quite a stash of kitties! I’d bring home a couple more if my gate-keeper wasn’t in my way. I do hope Meow cheers up your mom!
How lovely to have a cat to keep her company in her new home!
I wish I had a daughter as caring as you ( I don’t have a daughter). And congratulations on your final lecture last week. What a ,milestone. I tried Kai last week for the first time which was an easy jasmine for me. I also like the JM jasmine-marigold for a non skanky jasmine. And A la Nuit for bigger jasmine.
I thought Kai was gardenia?
You smell wonderful! I adore Promesse.
Aw, that’s a bummer your mom is having a difficult time. But it’s also understandable. I hope that Meow makes her feel better.
Fleur de Peau. Because Petunia wore it last Monday and it seemed like a good choice for a rainy morning.☔️
You smell wonderful!
Caron Pour Un Homme today. I wanted something a little sweet and a little aromatic, and this is a happy marriage of both. I almost wish I still had some of my L’Occitane lavender oil left so I could amp up the lavender just a little more.
I love Pour Un Homme. An APJer gifted me a sample then an NSTer gifted me a bottle because I was gaga over it. Now, the mister wears it too… it’s replaced First Cut as our “frisky scent” because it’s more affordable….plus, 200 MLS!!!! So he can spray lavishly and we can share it.
Monday….I’m REALLY struggling with you today!
Wearing Guerlain Champs Elysees and enjoying the vintage vibe. So far, it’s the only vibe I’ve got going on…..
Tonka Imperiale Guerlain
Twins!
I’m wearing Arizona today. I have no idea why, but it was what I wanted when I stood in front of the perfume tray this morning.
you smell like beautiful! Arizona and Alaia, though I’ve smelled them a just few times at perfume counters, are two fragrances that should get more love.
Started out nice and sunny this morning, which put me in a good mood, so I went with PdN Neroli Intense, which is a cheerful one.
I spent all weekend writing a paper and didn’t get out much at all. I’m still not done and it’s due tonight.
I previewed the 2 assignments for this week which are both long and involved and it’s nearly making me want to quit! Ugh. Not sure about this whole school thing…
Stay strong ElisaP!?You can do it!?
Thanks mtg! I can, I suppose, but “want to” is another story, lol. You next!
Goodluck elisap! fellow student here, I feel you’re pain..
Thanks for the commiseration mayfly! What are you studying?
You can do it! Refresh my memory please on what class you’re taking.
I’m retroactively doing a bachelor’s in nursing after a 26 year RN career of not needing one ?
My mom got grandfathered in, sorry you’re having to go through the trouble after all these years!
No one’s making me! It’s not required where I work- I’m sure they’d be happier not paying my tuition reimbursement, lol. I’m doing it for future job security.
keep going! u can do it 😀
Don’t quit!! Eyes on the prize and all that. Good luck
You can do it Elisa! Although, it seems crazy for a BA to be required for current employees.
Hang in there ElisaP. Go for It!!
Don’t give up!!!!! You can do this!!!! One class at a time.
I’m rooting for you, Elisa P! You can do this!
Adding a cheer for you! You can do it!
Hope that paper is done now and you are getting a proper rest!
Awww, thanks everyone! You guys are the best smelling cheerleaders ?
Sleepy morning. Smell Bent Gypsy.
Sleepy DAY here…not enough sleep, running around all day. Glad it is almost over.
SOTD is Safari. I want to finish off a bottle for a ‘thunk’ for the week. Next bottle to finish is vintage Shalimar and vintage Chanel No. 19. They both are starting to turn and what is life if not for enjoyment of beautiful things?
Had an eventful weekend, was out lunching with a friend and an unattended Chihuahua wandered up to us (not wearing a collar). After unsuccessfully knocking on several doors, I delivered him to Peninsula Humane Society. Very sweet pup, he cuddled on my lap and promptly started snoring. He was chipped, PHS called the owner and hopefully, they’ll claim him. I’ve got some rescue agencies lined up in case they can help. Good deed for the day accomplished!
Nice job! I love to hear stories about caring people.
You smell real nice and you are a wonderful human to care about the little dog, hoping for a happy ending.
OMG!!! Do not thunk that vintage Safari!!! ???
😀 I’ve got another vintage bottle of Safari. It’s all good….
??
Here’s hoping that Chihuahua has a happy resolution to his/her story. That was a really cool thing to do.
Hello, hello, darlings!
I’m back from Milan, from Esxence. It’s been a blast thanks to some great people.
I liked quite some fragrances but didn’t fall in love with any immediately. Guess I need to spend more time with all the new things rather than judge them by the lense of preliminary sniff. Hope to find a pearl in this sea full of oysters.
I need some time to put everything together (and to put myself back together) but before anything else I will be posting my Esxence reports.
Today I’m wearing Osmanthus Interdite. So glad this week ends tomorrow (public holidays for the rest of the week)
Consecutive public holidays? The US has no such thing.
Public holiday is 1st and 3rd of May here. I’ve taken 2nd off from work 😛
I think it’s illegal here 😉
I always enjoy the Chemist in the Bottle’s reports from abroad! I think I saw photos of Michelyn there too? 😀
Yes, we bumped onto each other several times 🙂
Welcome back and looking forward to your reports!
Grazie
I enjoyed seeing all the new releases you posted on IG. Curious about that citrus Perris Monte Carlo… Hope you had a blast, though!
That was a good citrus inspired by Sicilian blood orange.
I wanted something simple and pretty this morning, so I chose Mancera Roses Vanilla. Looks like my decant is evaporating pretty quickly, so I better wear it more often.
I’m already tired of avoiding Game of Thrones spoilers this morning. I guess this will be the last episode that I wait to watch until Monday night. I’m hoping I can start watching earlier than 9 p.m. using HBO Go (I’m on the West coast) because I like to get plenty of sleep on Sunday nights, and all work nights really.
An email spammer sent out an Avengers spoiler to my entire organization over the weekend. It didn’t spoil anything for me personally – the Avengers movies aren’t really my cup of tea – but it just seemed so petty and mean-spirited to rain on so many people’s parades at once.
Ugh that’s the worst! I do watch the Marvel movies though am not a super fan. I’m planning to see Endgame on May 11, and I have no doubt something will get spoiled for me before then.
You made me laugh! My eldest saw the Avengers movie with a friend, but when I picked them up I embarassed him in front of his friend by saying “I really only ever liked Venom”. Which is true.
Happy Monday, friends! Ok, let’s try an Ede-style list:
(1) Am wearing Muguet Porcelaine in the first time in at least 1.5 years. (Scent database tells me I wore it 0 times in 2018!!!) It is so much more beautiful than I remember! I put on three sprays two hours ago and it has quieted to a whisper already.
(2) Concert on Saturday went fabulously! This past year, I’ve stepped into an unofficial leadership role, and therefore had a lot of investment in the show. It felt great to see all that hard work pay off. I wore A Quiet Morning to the show, thanks to an exceedingly kind NSTer, because I was stressed out beforehand and needed to calm down.
(3) Had a rather eventful Sunday that I think I’d prefer to tell you about on Wednesday, after I predict other events taking place. Suffice to say I’m feeling rather glowy today. #vaguecommenting For now, I will say that I found myself near a Dior and discovered the exclusive line has bloated dramatically since the last time I paid attention to it. I tried and enjoyed Bois d’Argent (gorgeous iris that softens with time!), but the SA wouldn’t give me a sample, so that’s the end of that.
Ooh exciting mystery!
It IS exciting, Regina! I am fidgeting just thinking about it!
Intriguing and delightful! You smell marvelous. If I ever buy a bottle of perfume again, it just might be 15 ml of Muguet Porcelaine. 😀
I’ve been having that feeling recently—do I ever need to buy another bottle of perfume again??? I have SO MUCH already! But 15 ml of this is a lovely choice 🙂 I won’t even consider it until I finish my sample.
It IS delightful! *fidget fidget*
Congratulations on your concert turning out so well! Having a leadership role in that seems to suit you.
Oooh, I love Muguet Porcelaine! Was lucky enough to get my hands on a reasonably priced tester some time ago. I’ll probably wear it this week for May Day.
Wearing Phi Une Rose de Kandahar today. I tried Faberge Tigress last night and didn’t like it too much. I loved Tigress Musk though. Will review Tigress tonight.
I wore PHI over the weekend. SO GOOD! You smell fantastic today. 😀
Twins with PHI. It’s such a great fragrance!
Spring is in the air here, but it’s seasonal temperatures, just right for this time of year and cool enough that I decided to wear Kelly Caleche EDP. I had forgotten how nice the citrus opening is, it seems to be one of JCE strengths, really outstanding imo.
Kelly Caleche is a beauty, I’m so grateful a friend shared a sample with me. You smell great!
Thank you Tiffanie, so glad you enjoy it too.
You smell lovely! It’s such an easy one to wear. Glad I got a decant in a swap.
Thank you Elisa, I agree with you, enjoy your decant.
Kelly Caleche has been going onto and off of my full bottle list for a while now.
It depends a little bit whether you already have a light leather in your wardrobe, it really is a classic of the genre.
SotD = Chanel No. 22 edp
My little sample is many years old but still smells hugely beautiful. It’s a symphony of flowers. Lily of the valley is listed as a top note on fragrantica. This morning No 22 reminds me of Crabtree & Evelyn’s Spring Rain, also a floral with lotv.
And it’s Spring raining hard here, surprisingly as it was not in the forecast. Google weather only gives us a 10-20% chance of showers, so I guess today is a very lucky day rain-wise.
Had an unplugged weekend, our home internet flickered on and off so I turned away from the screens. It was nice to be less distracted and pay more attention to people irl.
Want to share an article I came across about Annette Green, a very interesting perfume industry person who just turned 95 years young.
https://www.newyorker.com/culture/on-and-off-the-avenue/the-grande-dame-of-the-perfume-industry-turns-ninety-five
Have a fantastic week, NSTers! The world is waiting for us to make it more beautiful. 😀
Thanks for sharing….I LOVE articles like this! I’d say Miss Green was pretty successful at getting some of us to buy more than one fragrance! 🙂
lol, yes, she is a perfume genius 😀
Nice to have that well-aged sample of No. 22 still around!
Interesting article. Thanks!
I adore No. 22! You smell great!
Cold but sunny here, still waiting for spring. Wearing Tonka Imperiale and getting ready to brave the cold again to take the dog for a walk, after my morning killer yoga class and lunch.
sounds like a perfect day! 😀
It was, it actually warmed up to 50F!
SJP Lovely today. Once it warms up i switch my work perfume to something without prominent musk.
Prada Id’I, Burberry Brit Sheer, Hermes Un Jardin Meditterenean are all contenders.
Saturday got my surrender to chance package, first perfume purchased this year i think. Dzongkha and L’Air du Desert Morocain. Wore both yesterday, l’addm to bed. was a good smelling day.
Yay for scented packages!
SOTD = Chanel No. 19 EDP
Because No.19, because Monday and and and it just so happens to have LOTV, according to Fragrantica.
I have to report that I was an inadvertent shoplifter yesterday. I had an unusually full Target shopping cart and had to use the bottom rack for an almost transparent filing box. As I was loading my car, I had that just stepped off the curb feeling — I did not pay for the box ??? but it was too late for me to go back into the store. I will rectify it this week but oh my!
If anyone is interested to pooling an Aftelier samples order, please email me. Take a look at one of the last entries in this past weekend’s Lazy Weekend Poll. Thanks.
Hi, house twin! Two snaps up for Chanel Mondays 😀
lol, I’ve done that at Target too! I was in a rush and forgot I had laundry detergent down there. Felt so bad and a little silly, but was happy with myself that I went back a week later to take care of it.
Yes to Chanel!
I guess Target doesn’t have a bottom of the cart camera similar to Wegmans. Also, I have seen a Wegmans cashier’s checklist that included checking the cart as it passes by.
That happened to me once at a grocery store while I had my three little ones with me. After we got to the car, the oldest (about 5 or 6) noticed an item on the bottom of the cart that I had not paid for. Then I HAD to drag everyone back in with me and pay for it right then rather than wait as he was concerned and I felt I needed to be a good example. The youngest was a crying hungry baby and I was near tears when I finally got home with them.
You set a good example for your kids!
Oof, I’ve definitely done that. I once bought a giant bottle of vodka at Costco for a friend and didn’t realize they failed to charge me for it until I was checking the receipt to see how much he owed me. Another time, I got two of those fantabulous cakes at Whole Foods for my birthday party. I was in line with a friend and we were chatting away, and I didn’t notice that I had paid 50 % of what I had expected to pay until many hours later. I wonder how many other times this has happened that I have just never noticed.
It’s always a great feeling when a customer comes back to make things right with the purchase ?
On the flipside though… there are times when customers are not charged for an item, then they come back and want to return it for a refund!
Sharing Cazaubon’s cold and sunny morning. I am in bed after a tortuous migraine that woke me up at about 3:30 am. I am basically taking Maxalt every 12 hours, so clearly I am in some vicious rebound cycle. I’m about 73% recovered at the moment… drinking lots of water and coaxing sympathy from the cats. Just applied an angel’s share of Sublime Balkiss, but am a little worried that may have been too much for my sore noggin. Weekend perfumes were Good Girl Gone Bad on Sat, and Brin de Reglisse on Sunday. My mother told me a story about her and her husband eating out the other night—a woman at a nearby table was wearing so much perfume that my mom asked to be moved. Given my universe of mothers and daughters, I wondered if it was a dig a me on some level . . . Oh well. I certainly hope my level of perfume application never puts anyone off their meal!
My mom just left after a six day visit. My husband thought it went really well, “you didn’t talk about all the usual things you disagree on”, but I’m pooped. Told him I didn’t think it went well, but it must be a mothers and daughters thing. I often wish I had an effortless relationship with my mom, but find myself in your universe all too often. Wondering whether it’s just my perception that my mom thinks we’re in competition with each other.
Hahahaha. This paragraph makes me feel SO UNDERSTOOD!
Plenty of effort in my relationship with my mom!
I’ve often categorized how we relate as “It’s complicated”.
There’s a great book about communication between mothers and daughters, by Deborah Tannen. It’s called: “You’re wearing THAT?”, lol.
My mother could smell a drop of perfume a mile away, and would always let me know it. Once in a mean moment, said how she hopes I’m happy with my perfume after she was gone. Of course, when that time came, I didn’t want to wear perfume anymore. Eventually though, I had to go back to wearing it, because I HAD TO. Ya, know… I had to.
My mom also had a nose like a bloodhound and she thinks I’m trying to kill her by wearing perfume.
don’t let the perfume comment bother you, everyone says things before they think! I’m excellent at putting my foot in my mouth, heh heh. Does remind me of the days when restaurants banned Giorgio, Poison, and one other, oh what was it . . .
hope your migraine gets better soon, I feel your pain.
Ick on the migraine! I hope it goes away soon… nasty headaches can be the worst.
Very sorry about the migraine. I remember those wake ups, but, thankfully, it’s been awhile.
I miss my mom’s challenging personality….your post made me chuckle.
Ow, so sorry to hear about your migraine.
Thankfully I have a very peaceful relationship with my mom.
So sorry about your migraine. I hope by now you are at least 98% better!
Oh goodness I hope you’re better! Hugs!!!
In Donna Karan Black Cashmere Mist. When I don’t have the energy to even think about perfume. I’ve had a tiring couple of weeks, it’s Monday night here but it feels like Friday night and I’m having my second glass of wine and reading NST. Best part of my day so far.
Perfect evening…wine and perfume talk. Such an escape.
My Monday was like that last week. Knowing it was Monday, but genuinely feeling as if I had endured an entire week of exhausting work days, made me little weepy.
Have another glass of wine. Tomorrow is NOT Monday.
Hope your evening was good. Wine and NST always seem to help me too!
I will wear Satin Doll (Ys-Uzac) once I can get into my room, a smokey tuberose, luscious perfume. Until then I have yesterday’s Marrakech intense. I went through a jazz phase when I was younger ( doesn’t everyone?) which made the Blue Note something of a holy grail on my only trip to New York. I think my favourite music novel is the Bass Saxophone by Czech author Josef Skvorecky. Two novellas: one set during soviet occupation, the other during nazi occupation. It is a long time since I read it but there was a reference to Ellington, something to do with the misguided belief that he had dropped his title ‘Duke’ ( as if he had been born an aristocrat) and become a common man. My favourite jazz movie was Round Midnight which was a French movie starring Dexter Gordon. There is a scene that sticks with me where he blows out a birthday candle and the way he controls his breath for such a small act is just incredible. I used to rewind the video just to watch the scene over again. Oh well, waiting for sunrise then up the hill. Then driving my mother to my brother’s three hours away. Should be a good day.
https://www.kirkusreviews.com/book-reviews/josef-skvorecky-4/the-bass-saxophone/
I love Satin Doll! So glad I got a bottle, you will smell wonderful.
I loved that movie too! Haven’t watched it in years, but I should.
Some Molecule 01 in the morning, because i want to thunk my decant. OJ Woman in the afternoon after my thai massage session.
You’ve smelled great all day!
Good morning all, it’s cold here today, it’s time for the winter coats and boots. I’ll keep myself warm with Fille en Aiguilles.
Fille en Aiguilles is an excellent scent for cool/cold weather.
Like quite a few other NSTers, I’ve had a cold morning here. There were even frost warnings across the river in some of the counties north of Philly. Very glad that the heat was on last night, and that I haven’t put away all the heavy wool socks for the year. ?
SOTD = Silences EdP, from the sample stash. Still on a bit of a “green” kick right now.
I haven’t turned my heat off once yet! Hopefully we get a little spring before summer. Lol!
I’ve gone from needing the heat on, to nothing, to air conditioning and back to heat. The temps have really been bouncing around lately.
Same here.
My car was completely frosted over this AM. The temps really dropped last night.
No frost on the windshields here. Or maybe I should say that I didn’t see any. Glad I did not have any easily killed plants in the herb garden!
I had today off and it was gorgeous. SOTD was Lumiere Blanche.
Back to work with more rain tomorrow.
Hurray for a day off with nice weather! ?
It went by too fast but yes!
I love the name Lumiere Blanche it just sounds so sophisticated and fancy! Glad you had a nice day off.
It’s really not fancy at all. The bottle is very unisex to my eye as is the scent. I love it though. Ginger, almond, woody dry vanilla. Not totally unsweet but not cupcake, which I usually don’t like. What is sort of cool is that juice has a white cast, as if some cleaned off a small white paintbrush. The opening is effervescent but not aldehydic…sort of like really good gingerale soda. ?
Was with a friend who likes rose scents this weekend, so I finished a sample of Rose Perfection by Piguet. Topped off with Une Zeste de Rose by Rosine.
Yum.
Very late to comment, but I am opening the LOTL week in Yardley Lily of the Valley (old version).
Cuir de Lancome for me today thanks to a swap. First time I’ve ever worn it and can DEFINITELY understand the love! Good grief it’s gorgeous.
One of my good friends graduated from law school in the fall and passed the bar this spring. Today was her swearing in ceremony in front of the NM Supreme Court. I went to support her and it was really cool to witness. Had a yummy New Mexican lunch with her family after. It was a wonderful morning!
Congrats to your friend. It’s a tremendous achievement!
Congrats to your friend! That’s awesome!
Congratulations to your friend! It sounds like you had a lovely day and smelled beautiful.
Congratulations to your friend! Did your lunch include red & green chile? ?
I’m usually a firm “Christmas” girl but went with red today! ?
Congratulations to your friend, what a great achievement! And how nice that you were able to attend on her big day.
Congratulations to your friend!
And, yes, CdL is gorgeous. I blind bought it a few years ago and sprayed it. Liked it okay but then about an hour later I moved my arm and this incredible scent came wafting across me. I really need to get a BUB.
That’s great, and a big achievement by your friend!
SOTD = Flower Market, by Maison Margiela Replica.
I like that one! You smell great!
