European skin and suncare brand Lancaster has launched French Riviera, the brand's yearly limited edition sun-safe summer fragrance.
In 2019 we introduce a delicate and elegant fragrance inspired from its Mediterranean origins. The sunbathed richness of the sublime Orange Blossom Absolute is inflused with a radiant citrus essence for a Mediterranean scent. Spray it and and embark an olfactive journey on the Riviera.
Additional notes include neroli, bergamot, heliotrope, magnolia, musks and woods.
Lancaster French Riviera is available in 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

The notes sound interesting. I wonder what it smells like…
I think there is a Lancaster counter near me, but I’ve never laid eyes on any of their summer scents.
How is it “sun safe”? What makes it so?
Supposedly many citrus ingredients (plus, I think, fig leaf? and possibly others) should not be worn in the sun…bergamot and lime, for instance, are considered phototoxic.
“bergamot and lime, for instance, are considered phototoxic.”
and it has bergamot listed among the notes.
I guess the phrase “sun safe” (to me, anyway) usually means something with actual sun protection in it?
Right, but if they have watched the percentage of the total formula, that’s ok.
A non sun-safe perfume might have a concentration of citrus that is phototoxic.
Oh, that makes more sense. Thank you! The optimist in me hoped for a sunblock/fragrance hybrid product, I suppose.
Yeah, that would be nice too!
