It's Tuesday and it's Procrastination Week. There are 15 days left of winter. What fragrance are you wearing?
I went with The Different Company Le 15. Tea at the moment is a Kenilworth Estate Pekoe, from Sri Lanka via Upton.
Reminder: on 3/8, we'll celebrate International Women's Day. Wear a fragrance that honors the holiday in whatever way you like.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2019, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: the Suffragette City tea set was a collaboration between artist Gillian Wearing, Bella Freud, the mayor of London and Plinth, to mark the 2018 centenary of women's suffrage in the UK. The individual pieces can be found at several places in the UK, including Sketch and Wolf & Badger. (The teapot is £90. The sugar bowl, which says What Do Women Want, is £35.) There is also a Tee and a Tote Bag.
Playing along today in Gucci EDP by Daniela Andrier.
And I should have said, mine is by Alexandra Monet.
You smell(ed) great today SheriG!
Vintage Houbigant Ideal from the freebiemeet
Also Shalimar body powder
Chanel lippy
Big enamel earrings from the antique store and a sweater dress
Twins in the Ideal; thanks so much to the lovely NSTer who shared it with us.
You’re looking good today!
Yes, bless them for sharing this
I get a lot of similarities to Shalimar, what about you?
I think so, too, although I don’t have any vintage Shalimar on hand to do a direct comparison.
Big fan of a big enamel earring AND sweater dresses! I bet you look great!
L’Envol de Cartier EDT by Mathilde Laurent. Now don’t lynch me, but I prefer the EDT version of this. I struggled a bit with the EDP but the moment I smelled the added brightness and transparency of the EDT, it was love. And I managed to snag a discounted gift set from TK Maxx with a shower gel which is lovely as well.
Now why would you preferring the EdT upset anybody?? There are quite a few fragrances I prefer in EdT.
TF Shanghai Lily from the freebiemeet. Thanks ElisaP.
So beautiful! It makes me smile!
You smell great! Shanghai Lily is such a beauty.
Have a nice day!
Thank you! ?
You smell soooo good!
I do! Thanks! ?
You smell great and have inspired me to wear the same. This was my TF gateway drug.
I cannot understand how this beauty could be discontinued and yet white suede lives on. ( no harm meant if you are a white suede love
Thanks! Shanghai Lily is indeed a gorgeous perfume and an antidote for these endless, freezing days!
I love Shanghai Lily! It was my first “fancy” perfume, given to me by my husband. You smell great.
Thank you! It is one of my big favorites for sure!
Maybe Shanghai Lily will come back at a reasonable price? (Yeah, I know… not likely with TF.)
I doubt it! ☹
Playing along today in En Passant by Olivia Giacobetti. It disappoints me, a little. The lilac is fresh and beautiful, and I enjoy the watery cucumber, but that only lasts for about thirty minutes before it just smells like old cucumbers. I search in vain for the wheat note. Maybe I need to spray more.
Lilac as a dominant note on a perfume isn’t used often enough and I wonder why. I love En Passant and you smell fabulous anyway.
Thanks, Dawn!
In the daily lemming dept, discovered a new-to-me chocolate bar
(while virtuously purchasing my current addiction, the pricey honeycrisp apples): Lindt les Grandes. It’s dark chocolate with hazelnuts and caramelized hazelnut pieces. It was a struggle to stop at the 2-pc serving size.
L’eau d’Hiver today, and see on the Barneys site that it’s now available in a 30 ml size. Hmmm.
2 pc serving size? Now that’s just crazy talk!?
Honey crisp are my favorite too. I have one every morning with some almond butter. ? They are up to $3.99 at my store, so yeah, a pricey addiction that’s for sure.
I love L’eau d’Hiver. You smell nice!
It’s funny that someone on a perfume website would refer to a honeycrisp addiction as pricey 🙂 How many of those can you get for the price of a scent that’s even perfumath free??
Ha! Good point! I guess it’s all relative, right? But they’re three to four times as expensive as all the other apples.?
I wonder why they’re so much more expensive. Harder to grow?
I will have to look for that bar!
I have still never seen the Lindt Toasted Sesame bar, boo hoo. I suspect they do not sell in the US.
I was at the Lindt store recently and noticed those Les Grand bars – they look amazing. Robin… I’m in Toronto and we get the Sesame bars here – they’re good. Let me know – I can send you some! I noticed on a trip to Savannah a few years ago that they had both Lychee and Pomegranate which aren’t available here. Different flavours for different markets. My favourites are the Sea Salt and the Crunchy Cacao ?
I have not seen Pomegranate near me either! Can we do a chocolate bar swap?
Absolutely! Here’s a link to the CDN site:
https://lindtexcellence.com/en/products/#all
Let me know what strikes your fancy! There are two Lindt stores within 10 minutes of where I work! ?????
Wow, lots! I can get most of those, but have never seen Lime Zest or Sesame. Can you think of a US chocolate brand you can’t get that I could send to you? Then if you could, email me, robin at nstperfume dot com.
My serving size of chocolate is considerably larger.
Ooooooh I will have to keep an eye out for those Lindt bars! Some of the grocery stores in my area carry various flavors. Wegman’s would probably be a good place to look.
DSH Habibi- so beautiful. Probably the perfume I’ve worn most this winter, I guess I’m a bit obsessed.
Habibi is a really beautiful perfume. I plan to wear a DSH this week and maybe that will be the one.
Wearing Taklamakan today. I tend to wear it in cold weather, which is what we are having again this week in the South.
It’s very snuggly.
Wearing Joy because I need some! Adorned by countless women of ages past! NO MORE “SNOW”
I hope the snow gods listen to you. My number has been blocked!
I’ll vote for that!
Hey Coin-op. Sent you an email. Need your address to send out the Champaca. Package is ready.
Celebrating Germaine Cellier today in lots of Jolie Madame after losing control of a splash bottle. It is so elegant it even behaves nicely when overapplied.
You reminded me that I own the EDT. I think I’ll wear it tomorrow. It’s a good one to overindulge!
Hahaha. You smell great! Glad you regained control.
Germaine Cellier – Jolie Madame. Today it did not hit the spot.
Oh jinx! Sorry it’s not working for you :/
We must have posted simultaneously! How funny! I only see your comment now, coming back to read the rest of yesterday’s comments. Glad JM did it for you yesterday.
Staying warm in Copper Skies.
Crabby today. I spent a hour yesterday cleaning and organizing a spot in my bedroom and found my sample/travel set of La Maison de la Vanille. All in various stages of evaporation. That shouldn’t happen and I think that it’s the spray and bottle wasn’t really thought out. It’s Fat Tuesday and that means paczis and I am dreading work today. I am wearing Chanel no 19 to get me through.
Good luck at work today, Dawn!
Hoping the No. 19 is giving you the strength you need.
Good luck at work!
Enjoy the paczis! Hope your day went better than you thought it would.
Sideris for me today. Smelling serene on a chilly grey day.
Yes you are sistine!
You smell great.
Lollia Sleeping Under the Stars by Margot Elena is my SOTD
That is a pretty excellent tea set!
Today’s female-created perfume is DSH December. According to the notes, I should be absolutely crazy for this one! Instead, I merely find it pleasant. It smells like Venenum Lite on my skin. I applied it liberally, but maybe tomorrow I need to simply dump the remaining contents of the vial on my skin and see if that helps.
Mayhem the Cat keeps losing weight, and we’re now more sure than ever that he won’t make it to the summer. Meanwhile, my father is on day 8 of chemo. 2019, I have not liked you one bit so far.
I want the tea set! And I really want the sugar bowl, even though I don’t even use a sugar bowl.
Unfortunately, set is not dishwasher safe, which I guess adds an extra layer of irony — for no extra charge! — to the whole thing.
So sorry about your kitty! How is your dad holding up, is the chemo making him ill?
You could use the sugar bowl for perfume samples, just a thought!
Haha, nice touch on the irony 🙂 That sugar bowl is quite desirable.
Yes, the chemo is making him ill, but not as much as we had feared. He gets it in sets of three days, and the nausea and misery sounds like it’s offset from the chemo days by about two days (so, the nausea starts on day 3 of chemo and continues for 2 – 4 days afterwards). I just hope it’s working and that all this misery is worth it. Thanks for asking!
Well I hope it is working too.
Oh a terrible 2019 for you Koyel. How much more chemo for your dad?
It’s six months of three days at a time every three weeks. We’re two months in now, so another four months of this 🙁 And it gets harder each cycle. Ugh, it’s just terrible.
Hugs, Koyel.
<3 Thanks, KellyC.
Life is mostly tough and knowing that you will lose a pet is awful.
Hope your dad can cope with his chemo.
Thanks, austenfan, it is tough 🙁 I’m already writing this year off as a loss, but I hope 2020 will be an improvement.
That’s how 2018 was for me when both my dogs died a few months apart – a total write-off. So sorry 2019 is shaping up to be one of those years for you.
That must’ve been devastating, cazaubon. I remember feeling very sad for you last year, but I didn’t really understand it, I think, never having been through it myself. I’m starting to understand now <3
I’m so sorry koyel, I hope this year improves for you, you’re cat and sending you’re Dad well wishes.
Thanks, mayfly.
So sorry about Mayhem… ?. But I do hope your Dad is hanging in there with the chemo and it’s not too tough,
I hope his chemo works! It’s been odd to see the different treatment plans for my father and for my cat. It’s unclear to me how much of the difference is because of the type of cancer and how much is because one is a human and one is a cat (and then, is it because we try harder to keep humans alive than we do cats? or is it because they’re different species with different responses?)
Sending you all loving and supportive vibes.
Thanks, cazaubon, much appreciated <3
I’m so sorry Mayhem is fading. Sending good wishes to your dad.
Thanks, NovemberRose.
We’re trying to make the most of the time we have left with Mayhem, and he’s being such a sweetie that it’s easy to forget how sick he is.
So sorry to hear that your Mayhem kitty is getting so thin. It sucks watching a loved animal companion go thru something like that. Continued best wishes for your dad during his treatment regimen!
Thanks, Jalapeno, for both of those. I’m trying to give them both all the love I can.
Seconding Jalapeno’s wishes.
Sending you best wishes that all of you may be able to find moments of peace when you can.
Thank you, AnnE.
Sending healing wishes for your father and your cat, Koyel.
Koyel, I’m so sorry you are going through all of this. Sending a hug your way.
Ormonde Jayne Tolu.
I’m not even gonna complain about the single digit temps today because the sun is out, there is hardly a cloud in the sky, and I heard the cardinal chirping this morning. The weather lady said 15 days til spring!
I’m off for a long overdue haircut today. Can’t wait.
I love cold and clear! Enjoy the day!
Thanks! I will take the sun while it’s here!
Enjoy your sunshine and haircut! Virtual high five on spring being close! And you smell amazing by the way!
Thanks KellyC! Virtual high five back!
Hurray for the sun! There’s been too much grey in the sky this winter for my taste.
Hi all, I’m Wearing Le Labo’s Rose 31, both spray and oil.
Nice!
I bet you smell fantastic!
SOTD = Nirvana Bourbon. Not sure how involved the Olsen twins are with the fragrance line specifically, but their massive fashion empire qualifies them as worth an attagirl for women’s history month.
Speaking of which, I watched my first Lao film last night, by Mattie Do. She has the distinction of being the country’s first female filmmaker AND first horror filmmaker. It’s called Dearest Sister, and it’s about a young woman from a poor village who moves to the capital to help care for her cousin, who is going blind and having premonitions/communicating with the dead. There was a lot more psychological and class tension than actual ghosties. I wish it were scarier, but it was interesting as a product of a culture I’m not very familiar with.
I learned that ghosts giving you winning lotto numbers is a theme in Southeast Asian folklore. Booking my Lao haunted house tour now.
The movie sounds fascinating.
I found it on Shudder!
Is Shudder a platform for finding horror movies? Asking so I know to stay away from it.
Yes, it’s a streaming service specifically for horror movies/shows. Either by itself or as an Amazon add-on. Really good selection if you want it, easy to avoid if you don’t.
I really like a lot of the Nirvanas. You smell great.
I still haven’t tried the newer ones, French Grey and Amethyst, but I do like the rest of the line. White is a little boring to me but I love the rest. Cheap (by perfume standards), pretty, and nice bottles, the deadly combo.
White is my least favorite also. I do like Amethyst, but French Grey is just above White for me. But if you like Bourbon, Black, etc definitely try Amethyst! And you’re right, the bottles and pricing are great.
Wearing Iris Ganache to help fortify me through a day of discomfort. 10 days ago, I fell on the ice and fractured both bones in my wrist. They were unable to get the bones to set, so I ended up having reconstructive surgery. 2 plates and 11 screws later, I am very grateful for pain medication.
The positive side is that I can wear any scent I want, and the greyhounds love having me home.
Walk carefully my fellow northern inhabitants
So scary! Ice is no joke. My son fell just yesterday. I’m really sorry that you suffered so much injury.
Oh that’s awful! I am so sorry and hope things heal quickly now.
Ouch. Guess you’re typing with one hand. Honestly, after reading the comments here this winter I never want to live where it gets cold.
And you shouldn’t. No one should. Ever?
On the bright side, your town or city probably doesn’t have: (1) tens of thousands of auto break-ins and burglaries every year, (2) discarded hypodermic needles scattered all over town, (3) neighborhood refuse piles that morphed from encampments, or (4) insanity-level pricing for everything.
So true.. I am fortunate
It’s just driving is scary for me and magnified to a thousand in ice and snow.
Good reminder to pick up some more ice melt on my way home. Wishing you a speedy recovoery!
Oh no! I hope it heals quickly!
I’m so sorry! That’s awful. Ice scares me.
Gosh, that’s awful! I’m glad they fixed you up but sorry for your pain.
Sending tons of healing vibes. You smell great.
Oh my. Sending get well vibes.
Oh no, you poor thing. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
Oh my gosh! That sounds terrible! I hope you are feeling better each day.
Wow — that is an ordeal! Hope you heal quickly.
Ow ow ow ow ow! That sounds very uncomfortable. Will you have to do any PT?
Oh no! That sounds awful. Sending you healing thoughts; I hope your puppies are waiting on you hand and foot (so to speak)!
Oh no! I hope the recuperation time goes quickly for you. I broke my wrist a couple of years ago, but I needed only screws. If you tend to faint, don’t look when they take your first cast off; those screws sticking out look very gruesome.
I did not experience the pain lasting very long, if that’s any help.
Such bad luck, hope the wrist will mend well. Glad the pain didn’t last and that in spite of the circumstances you are enjoying the time at home with your dogs and perfumes.
I’m crabby twins with Dawn today. Heading into work to another district visit. I’m sure they will change their minds again and make us do the opposite of what they last said. Then act like they never said it.
Anyway… Today I am matching Black Orchid and it’s funky mushroom note to Grace Slick. ??
Ugh, I once had a boss like that. You never knew which way the wind would blow. How do they not know they sound confused?
Pretty sure they Just. Don’t. Care. ??
They don’t, they just need an excuse to charge milage for the visit. Uh…. that rack really needs blah blah
+1
I love your spin on the cp this week lillyjo! ( get it? “spin”? Lol, I couldn’t resist)
Sending some sunshine your way to help with the crabbies.??
You spin me round and round Madtowngirl! I totally got it?
Bleah, it sounds like Dilbert’s pointy-haired boss and his upper management bros have invaded your store again.
Exactly! I’m happy to say though, that I no longer have “triangle” hair, like the one character. For a long time I did. Lol
Was going to go for Ormonde Woman for the obvious reasons, but for some reason, my hand grabbed Bronze Goddess….dreaming of summer I suppose!
Feeling melancholy today. So many people lost their lives in Alabama from tornadoes Sunday. The county that was hit was the county my university is in and also I have a lot of family there. Just very sad. Also sad about Luke Perry’s passing, which I realize is ridiculous, but he was my first major crush and just seems like a part of my adolescence is gone.
It’s been a sad couple of days. And it isn’t ridiculous to feel sad about Luke Perry’s death I don’t think. Dylan McKay was a formative crush for many and Perry seemed like a genuinely good guy. 52 is too young.
Being 52 myself I certainly agree. RIP.
SotD Dryad
Just added Nomade on my one arm and the new Jardin sur la lagune by Hermes on my other. Will report back on this one.
I stink haha
I ❤️ Dryad.
Yup I love it too!
I just tried the Lagune today. I don’t think I like it. Nagel is fond of some sort of woody material that I don’t like.
And stinking is good!
My follow up comment ended up somewhere below.
I was not wow’ed. I dont think its bad, but maybe that was because I had Nomade on my other arm….(it was not good on me) haha.
It feels more like a mediocre episode from the Eau series than a real Jardin. If that makes any sense….
As I wore a Goutal yesterday, I’m in a Nicolaï creation today: Cococabana. Discontinued and an odd coconut fragrance. I happen to really like it, but I can see why it never became popular. It is rather heavy and rich.
Tea is Montagne d’Or by way of Mariage Frères 😉
Hey, MF is doing flankers! There is now a Marco Polo Sublime, for instance, and an Opera Haute Couture. Ha.
Wearing Teresa Helbig Old Money from the splitmeet (thanks Pixel!) while home sick in bed. It’s hitting the spot.
Feel better soon Amy!
Hope you feel better soon!
Get well soon, Amy.
“Oh don’t lean on me man, cause you can’t afford the ticket!”
SSS Yin & Ylang today. This is the fifth day of full on sunshine in a row. I think the world may be coming to an end.
If anyone needs schooling on procrastination, please contact me. I’m a black-belt in that particular sport. ?
I do some private tuition in that department as well!
Ha! That’s the first thing that popped into my head when I saw that tea set too! Earworm twins!?
I could also teach a class on procrastination and thought of the Bowie song like you. And you smell great!
I thought of that David Bowie song, too! ?
Announcing it on Tuesday was admittedly a weak move, but I promise I can do better 🙂
House twin with Robin in my old standby Jasmin de Nuit by Celine Ellena. It’s so good in this latest arctic blast we’re having this week. The jasmine is reminding me of the tropics, but the spices warm it up and make it appropriate for the weather.
I never did get to try Le 15 before it disappeared. But who can keep up with everything?
You smell great! Thanks for reminding me of this one, I have a sample somewhere, need to find it now…
I love Jasmin de Nuit. You smell wonderful!
Nobody!
So Nomade leans a little much towards fruity laundry detergent on my skin. I love that bottle so much, but I cant see myself wearing this.
Haha my husband just smelled my arm and his face turned into something like this ? and he called it ‘air refreshner mixed with laundry softener’.
Un Jardin sur la Lagune on first sniff almost felt like its shares more DNA with the Eau series than with the Jardin series.
Its not love at first sniff for me, but it is not bad either, and I think I need to give it another try when its warmer. I smell hints of magnolia and lily, quite fresh and clean, but after an hour while it gets that slightly murky water vibe Eau Gentiane blanche and eau de Narcisse bleu have. If that makes any sense.
….though I think Eau de narcissse bleu is much better. Its more transparent/layered.
Narcisse bleu is wonderful. I happen to really love Eau de Néroli Doré as well.
I also like Orange verte. I don’t know if I need the edt but i wish i had a big bottle of the shower gel.
I still need to try the Néroli Doré.
I like a lot the Eaux way more than this Venetian garden. Didn’t like Eau de Citron Noir at all. Opening is fine, for about 5 seconds and then some spiky wood pops out and refuses to leave.
I did like her Eau de Rhubarbe Ecarlate and I also really like her Eau de Cartier.
I found Eau de Citron Noir awful. Only one I don’t like.
Citron Noir was not okay on me. I never tried the Rhubarbe and the Cartier.
Un Jardin sur la lagune has turned flat and boring on my skin. Even Nomade has more going on right now.
But I think I am going to scrub them both off and wear something more interesting. 🙂
SOTD is Tom Ford’s Vert Fleur. I have lots of Tom Ford’s perfumes and do not wear any of them nearly enough.
I love that one and always get compliments on it. Gave some to a guy who works at my local coffee shop and always comments on it and he took it on vacation where he said all his friends tried to steal it!
I’m really happy reacquainting myself with some neglected beauties at the moment; SOTD Liz Earl no. 15, such a beautiful spicy/herbal vanilla, very uplifting, and comforting at the same time.
That sounds really nice
I love that one, and No 1 and 9 as well. Liz Earle’s perfumes works for me and last very well for 90%+ natural perfumes.
Hello Y’all….
Wearing a wee bit of Lush Cardamon Coffee (solid) this afternoon, which is just the right amount of spicy and cozy on this chilly winter day….
Speaking of which…I’m sooooo over winter! 🙂
Did you get some of that horrible weather where you’re at? Hope all s well in pharmtopia…!
SOTD is Soivohle Green Oakmoss EDP, which is just how it sounds. It’s gorgeous. I highly recommend trying it and really anything from Soivohle. I think it’s an unsung indie brand with a prolific woman perfumer, Liz Zorn. I also love that she’s a fellow Ohioan because I don’t know of many indie perfumers in Ohio.
I so love oakmoss. Must give this one a try.
I have one of the 10mL bottles of Green Oakmoss and love it. Very happy I blind bought it when Soivohle had one of their holiday sales a few years ago.
For some reason I was thinking she was on the east coast…I’m a little overwhelmed by all the selections on her site, as well as some others. Plus, in the back of my mind, I know I don’t “need” anything else…
Smelling fabulous in Coromandel
Yes you do!
Gorgeous stuff.
Not a ballerina but wearing Atelier Cologne Iris Rebelle feels lovely.
Smelling wonderful Lucasai!
I love Iris Rebelle. You smell great!
Kiss Me Intense again today to celebrate Patricia Nicolai. Her Le Temps d’une Fête was my first niche back in the mid 90s, so I have a fondness for the house.
Sigh… It never ends with pets. We are down to two cats now, and I took our boy Blacky in today for first vet visit in quite a long time. We’ve had an instinct he has a GI issue. Only thing confirmed is some tooth problem, but all sorts of blood work, x-rays, etc. performed. Vet was somewhat concerned he was way too mellow for a cat that generally isn’t around strangers. I’m not…he’s always been a pretty placid guy.
But the upshot is…I have now spent a nice vacation in Blackyland. And I’m sure we’ll be spending more vacation time (and money) there soon….
Oh, dear, a vet visit is something I dread most of the time due to the expense. One of my cats has stomatitis and is going to need to have all of his teeth removed at some point. Since it’s easily $1000+, I have to make the choice between fixing his teeth or my own.
Oh no! ?
Yikes. Ours has a broken canine, so that at least will need pulling.
It will for sure, sooner or later. My cat Pixel had the same issue and was much happier when that tooth was finally gone. It was not cheap to take care of, though.
Been there done that with most of our fur babies. But they’re like children/family. It’s hard not to.
You’re a good mama to Blacky!
Best wishes for your Blacky!
Hello all. My SOTD is Ineke Hothouse Flower. I found it by accident this morning–an unopened sample in a cute small box. I’ve got no memory of getting it or when, but I didn’t have any other scent planned and it seemed to fit the CP so I sprayed ahead. It’s nice, not really what I expected given the name. I smell fig and green notes, but the flower appears to be missing. I think I expected some powerhouse like a tuberose or (God forbid) a star lily. It’s pleasant but not earth-shaking. I’d choose Elephant for more green smell and/or a good fig perfume like L’Artisan’s for more fig, rather than buying this one.
Calypso, was it you who recently posted about really liking Areej le Dore Flux de Fleur? If so, please email me! I have a decant of it, and it just doesn’t do it for me. I’m at gmail at the same name as my NST user name.
Yes, it was! Thank you, I’ll write you later tonight.
Maria Candida Gentile’s Cinabre – so nice on this frigid day! ?
Will have to do some research on my stash so I can be sure to honor all the lovely female perfumers represented there this week.
Needed something a bit more quiet today, so went with Lyn Harris L´Air de Rien, which is a contemplative and cosy scent for me.
Continued the cosy skin scent theme with a new sample of Musk Tonkin, which was in the mail today. I like this a lot, but have to sample further. Compared to Peau de Bete the price is much more reasonable???
I love L’Air de Rien. I also liked Musc Tonkin better than Peau de Bête. Money saved. 🙂
Yes, I agree to l’Air de Rien being cozy, it is also different.
Beautiful sunny day, walked the puppy down to the post office and mailed some packages. Now off in the car to do more errands. Wearing Heretic Smudge.
Interesting perfume name. Glad you and the pup got some sun!
It’s an incense perfume, but doesn’t really smell like one of those sage smudge bundles. Puppy and I had a glorious walk, then later in the evening it poured rain. Timing is everything!
Just googled it. Sounds fantastic, right up my alley. Lucky puppy! You may need an adorable raincoat for her…
I am in Osmanthe Yunnan again layered over Nuxe bodycream.
Does anyone have layering recommendations for this one? Its so fleeting!
At Hermès, a SA recommended layering Osmanthe Yunnan with Santal Massoia.
I heard someone recommend putting the perfume on first, then layering cream on top.
Good luck!
Interesting combo I will give it ago…also interesting that the cream goes on top of the perfume. I usually do the opposite
<3 Thanks, KellyC.
Hi Everybody!
Neeed HEEEELP!!!! I am desperate enough to ask if someone could sell me a decant (5-10ml) of Teo Cabanel Barkhane. I have searched Ebay, STC and The Perfumed Court- NOTHING!!! I have finally found my perfect amber and unfortunatelly can’t afford a FB atm. Please e-mail me at lasto4ka5 in the land of gee male.
SOTD- M Micaleff Ylang, lovely, but way too sweet for me, I will use my decant and take it off my want list.
I was planning to wear my spring scents for this week CP ( International Day will always be associated with spring and tulips for me), but it is so cold and windy in MI, that I’ve decided to stick with big guns, the bigger, the better!
This week choices are Chanel Coco, TF Sahara Noir and Clinique Aromatics Elixir.
All excellent choices! I’m also in MI, and it’s blowing snow like crazy.
I can help you with Barkhane. Emailing now…
Inspired by my younger sister, who seems to be coming out of over a year of difficulties with grace. Wearing Eau Rose by Diptyque. She was sure she loved the line but hated rose until she met this scent; now it’s a favorite of hers.
That’s a touching anecdote about your sister.
Glad your sister is on the other side of her difficulties.
Happy for you and your sister that you can share perfume love.
Hello everyone! This is my favorite blog, I used to post and read here every day years ago but somehow I lost touch and my old account password…. I am back again on here and very happy to be back!!
I just ordered a fragrance set as a treat for myself. It was a blind buy… but my favorite brand! Does anyone like Acqua di Parma? I love Fico di Amalfi (my staple since 11-12 years ago), Mirto di Panarea and now unfortunately discontinued Iris Nobile. But now I am so excited for my bottle and body cream of Arancia di Capri to arrive in the mail!!!!! I never tried it before but I love orange and orange blossom, orange anything scents!! Can’t wait to smell it finally!
Welcome (back)!
thank You!!
Welcome back! You can easily find Iris Nobile at Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue and the online discounters. I was not aware it had been discontinued.
I am ought to give it a try now!! Thank You for this information!
Welcome back!
Appreciate Your kind words!!
Good to see you join back. I loved Arancia di Capri when I tried it, the Blu Mediterraneo is outstanding, fico is probably my favorite fig.
Sweet! I love Fico too it is so breezy, fresh, a bit fruity and just deliscious! Well fruity is not that bad for Fico because… figs are fruits after all, right?
Posting late today! I guess I am in tune with Procrastination Week. ? Today was a much better day than yesterday was. Both chocolate and perfume were indulged in and enjoyed.
SOTD = Oriza L. Legrand Relique d’Amour EdP, from the sample stash. A beautiful, calming incense scent for me.
Glad today was better!
Thanks! Me too!
Oh, that perfume sounds good! Glad to hear your day was a bit better today! ✌?
Thanks Deva! ?
SOTD = Papillon Angelique
Woman perfumer and perfume business owner Liz Moore’s. like this the best out of the original 3 – orris butter and mimosa are what I smell.
Embarrassing moment and I admit to being judgey on this – towards the end of a missionary’s message yesterday, someone started to snore. I was nowhere near the person but if I was seated next to him. I may have gently nudged him.
On the way home today, someone other than me smelled good. I finally spoke to the guys sitting next to me and one of them said he was wearing Penhaligon’s but could not remember the name. It smelled like a tobacco non-gourmand vanilla pudding. I am dying to know what it was!
“Someone other then me smelled good” – that made me smile and i can so relate.
I also find it odd that some don’t know what perfume they are wearing. Even before i fell down the rabbit hole I always knew
Glad to hear that you smelled something good on your commute home today! Usually it’s the complete opposite. ?
If I’d heard the guy snoring, I would have laughed out loud. ?
I’m glad you asked him what he was wearing! I’ve gotten bolder about doing that with strangers!
I feel the same way when someone in yoga class starts snoring. How nice to smell something good on your commute for a change!
Very belatedly — I didn’t even know there was a procrastination week, I just live it — scent of the evening was Passage d’Enfer.
