Tuesday, Darwin Day and Lincoln’s birthday. What fragrance are you wearing?
Me: on vacation, day 5. I am commando again and heading to the beach soon. Tea this morning was a cup of coffee.
Reminder: on 2/15, wear a natural perfume, if you have one. Suggested by chocolatemarzipan8.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2019, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: the Teapottery Double Espresso Green Teapot is $167 at Peter's of Kensington in Australia.
Fum Ariose
You smell amazing. I wore Ariose on Sunday, and my sweatshirt still smells of it. I thought about wearing it again today but wanted to change it up. I think once I use up my sample, I’ll buy two or three more samples of it at once. I love it so much but can’t fathom spending $200+ on a bottle right now.
I agree. It’s out of my budget for now but if I won Lotto a full bottle would be mine and yours ?
?
In DSH Chinchilla. Pretty animalic. Honey, musk, oakmoss with a hint of gardenia. I don’t get anything else. Very fleeting and low sillage. 2 hours later it was gone. I will keep reapplying during the day. I like it, but don’t love it.
Did Chinchilla get THUNKED today?
No. It is a rollerball sample, so it will take a little longer to finish it! ?
That is quite a teapot!
I’m wearing vintage-ish YSL Paris EdT–one of my most romantic perfumes– to match my Valentine’s outfit. Lavender button down, pink pants, hot pink jacket. I’m going to a Valentine’s event tonight and alwaysready to dress for an occasion!
Great outfit!
Love vintage Paris! One of my profs. at art school wore it in 1985 or so and I always associate it with that time and place. You smell wonderful!
It is quite a teapot, and pretty sure I do not want one!
You look and smell great!
❤️??
Smelling and looking great Coumarin! Enjoy the event!
My most favourite perfume!
Great outfit!
Have a great time, your outfit sounds great.
Natural perfume of the day is Legno do Nave from Via de Profumo (Abdes Salaam) which is a salty seawater type scent.
That sounds beautiful and it would work for next week’s salt CP too.
Three cheers for both Darwin and Lincoln! Wearing a scarf I just finished knitting and got a compliment on it at Starbucks. Nice way to start the day. Finished my sample of Apres l’Ondee today. It’s very beautiful, but ultimately not for me.
How lovely to get comments on your scarf! And I think you smell great even if you don’t love AlO 🙂
Thanks, Robin. I topped off later with Lipstick Rose. I like my violets with a side of glamour.
Apres l’Ondee is not for me either. But you do smell lovely and compliments are always nice!
Thanks! Knitting compliments are almost as good as perfume compliments.
Congratulations on the scarf!
Thank you!
Congratulations in the scarf! That’s really great.
Thanks!
Fifth consecutive day I’m wearing my respectlessly tweaked Ispahan blend and I’ve gotten two compliments on it!
My sister thought it was a Lutens for chrissakes. At times like these creating perfumes doesn’t seem very hard, even though I know it’s just a lucky fluke.
Lucky fluke or not, that’s pretty cool.
Dior Gris Montaigne for a snowy morning- matches the weather and my soft grey sweater.
That combination sounds so pretty.
Thank you (flutters eyelashes)!
I am wearing Satori, by Satori
I don’t know if its all natural, but it sure smells good!
Mmm. Wore that last night- so good!
Thunked a sample of Attrape Coeur. Wasn’t feeling natural this morning.
🙂
Still testing Patchouli Intense. It doesn’t have the staying power of a Tauer, but that’s fine with me. It lasts about 4-5 hours on me and I can still smell a subtle trace this morning.
I am in my vintage Chloe and watching the snow come down.
I helped an older couple in our building a month ago when found out that the husband had fell and broke his hip. I brought them dinner from a Greek Resturant (the woman I believe is Greek) Yesterday she stopped by asked it she could gift me with two hand me downs as gifts. One was her fur coat and another was a beautiful kimono robe. She paused in my doorway and said “ the kimono robe feels so good against your skin if you were it in the nude. “
PSA Clarins I having their F&F online. If anyone uses their products. I think Koyel…
Sipping chai tea. I love when my FIL is here!
Wow, how fabulous! That’s a wonderful way to repay kindness, bet she really enjoyed the giving, too.
Oh, what a great story, and perhaps an insight into your neighbor’s longevity (and the longevity of her marriage, though of course they may be newlyweds!).
Thanks for the Clarins tip — I will check it out, although I don’t love the recent reformulation of two of my “used daily for years” products (the Extra-firming day and night), and a newer favorite, the anti-pollution cleansing creme, isn’t sold in the US.
For me the product that I love the most is the double serum. I use it on days when its super cold (like today) or just in the evening.
As far as my neighbor, I think there is a stigma that woman of a “certain age” society doesn’t see them having sexual desires or drive. Well, with that comment, she proved me wrong 😉
Great story! Sounds like a scene from an old movie ? And your generosity is admirable ?- wish more people were good neighbors.
Ooh, neat story! Wear the fur coat in the nude, too, ha ha!
I also like and use Clarins–thanks.
I have never owned a fur coat or any sort of kimono.
Thank you for sharing that beautiful story! You are so kind to have helped them and it’s lovely they wanted to recognize you in such a way.
What a great story!
Ohhh, vintage Chloe. You smell marvelous!
Ah, I forgot to mention yesterday that I too love the Castro theater. I remember when I lived in SF and saw a film there they placed the organ? before it started.
Played
Typing is not my strong suit today
What a touching story: the heart that gives, gathers. I loved what she said to you about the kimono?
Wearing Gris Clair to match my mood and the weather; major ice storm overnight to be followed by a snow storm and high wind warning tonight. A big limb broke off the maple tree in the back yard and missed my husband’s truck by inches ? Yes, I do recall griping bitterly because it was so hot last October and I don’t wish for heat now, but sunshine and dry roads would be great. I also remember being a teenager and laughing at old people who were always complaining about the weather 😉
Oh, we have that weather, too, and it would be a great day for Gris Clair. I’m in 31 rue Cambon already, but maybe I will switch it up this afternoon whenI go in to work. OTOH, Gris Clair sometimes has more sillage on me than I am comfortable with at work.
Yes and it lingers a long time, like Pink Floyd playing in the background. I love Gris Clair but need to be in the mood for it.
SotD = Tauer Amber Flash from a new sample
oooooh, I love this amber, and that’s not something I say often. 😀 I think it’s because I’m getting a lot of sandalwood. It will be fascinating to see how this evolves today.
So far I like even love everything I’ve smelled from Tauer. Genius.
Terrific Tuesday wishes to all NSTers! Let’s go forth and waft on 😉
I really love Tauer too!
yah, Andy makes it easy to love his work. 😉
You smell good!
aw, thanks holyneroli!
Oh, the Amber Flash sounds wonderful!
Amber Flash is a good one! I enjoyed it all day long. Sometimes amber scents start to wear on me, but this one is lovely.
From the Freebiemeet, I am wearing Puredistance Warszawa . . . continuing from last night. It morphs from moment to moment and is beautiful. Its cost is banishing any thoughts of a full bottle, but if my world ever stops rocking I will look for a Puredistance sampler, which I suspect I would enjoy very much!
Someone pointed out on Fragrantica that Warszawa smells similar to YSL Champagne and I agree. Lovely!
Huh! I will have to get my hands on some Champagne to try it. Are Champagne and Yvresse basically interchangeable?
Yes, I believe so.
Yep, it was renamed pretty quickly after it first launched. So I doubt that older versions of Yvresse are very different from Champagne, later ones will have been reformulated.
SOTD = AA Tempted Muse. Really lovely, I am sure, but a bit too white floral for my tastes. So far the AA scents have been generally well put together and with distinct personalities and decent longevity. You do t always get those things in an all natural perfume.
I agree with you. Even Unter den Linden, which I really didn’t like, is an interesting fragrance. Calling All Angels is my favourite and I bought a FB of it. I also like Ray of Sunshine.
+ 1 for CAA.
I have a FB of Liquid Dreams, which to me is a very happy scent. I am wearing CAA now that the Tempted Muse from this morning has worn off. I really enjoyed Erdenstern yesterday. I am really happy to see that April Aromatics offers 15 ml bottles from their website.
DSH Bois du Chocolat
Got this in the Christmas set 2017, testing now and will thunk it after shower.
It’s a very nice rich cozy scent.
Enjoy your Thunk as it hits the trash can.
Continuing my Lush week – thanks, Robin, for accepting Lush for the CP. 🙂
In Lush Death&Decay today, layering solid with last drops of my liquid perfume sample. I kind of lost interest in it for a while, but today I like wearing this powdery lily.
I need to try this. Serge Lutens De Profundis is my all time favorite scent, and this seems to have that similar “chilled funereal” scent? What do you think?
Kelly, I can only compare D&D with De Profundis Limited Edition, because I have not tried ‘regular’ De Profundis.
D&D and DP LE both seem to be built around the idea of dying flowers, but I think similarities end here. D&D is slighly warm (especially after you give it some time), dry, with a hint of sweetness and spiciness. “Mummified lily” was what I suddenly thought just now when I tried to find words to describe this scent. No green notes, just petals.
DP LE, on the other hand, is green, wet, bitter and cold. Compared to De Profundis LE, D&D is easier to wear (well, for me) and seems more conventional. I hope it helps.
In Vanilla Musk today and wishing I could wear one of my thick, warm skank bombs to work, like Bal or La Nuit. It is so cold here and the icy snap doesn’t appear to be ending anytime soon. Canada just has too much winter. It’s five or six months of this nonsense, every year.
I am not able to wear my skank bombs either.
I’m testing Encens et Lavande from a sample given to my by an actual non-NST perfume friend! It’s nice but I fear crappy fougeres have ruined lavender for me forever. It just has too many Overscented Dude on the Subway associations.
I liked the dry-down but found the beginning unpleasant – the herbal part (the lavender note is nice).
I only have one non-NST perfume friend in real life. It’s so wonderful to find fellow perfumistas out in the world!
Wearing Stella and feeling sad that it doesn’t have the sillage and longevity of my first bottle from when it just came out.
🙁
SOTD is YSL’s Y (vintage).
I love that teapot! It appeals to my steampunk sensibilities….
I love it too but would not want it as a teapot…don’t want to wash it, for one thing!
Same here about the teapot!
You smell terrific, vintage Y is so elegant, you remind me of pulling out my bottle soon when we move towards spring.
I love this and forget to wear it. I’m glad I cleaned out my sock drawer! 😀
Is that teapot somehow thumbing it’s nose at coffee or is coffee trying to insinuate itself into tea? Would I buy it if it actually made espressos? What about a real espresso machine decorated with a couple non functioning teapots? How about a microwave that looks like a refrigerator?
?
Thunked my sample of Patch Flash. It started to get on my nerves so I sprayed Angel Muse on top of it, after about an hour. I feel much better now?
Oh, I love anything Angel (one spritz though)… Haven’t tried Muse though. How does it wear (sweet)?
To me, it’s sweet, but not sugary sweet if that makes sense. Cozy, hazelnutty. It’s one of my favorites!
I agree with KellyC, but I also get quite a bit of the vetiver. It’s very yummy. I would like to try the edt version, which is more fruity, but I think it’s an online exclusive.
What was bothering you about the Patch Flash lillyjo? And congrats on the sample THUNK!
I think I probably put to much on, and it just felt very dry, I needed to sweeten it up.
Wearing Angel in this morning’s cool, crisp air – it really brings out the minty aspects for me!
Mint? I never Angel had mint in it!
I don’t think it *technically* does but the opening has a chocolate-minty smell to me, especially in cold weather.
I think it’s the patchouli! Via Fragrantica: “The oil has a rich, balsamic and herbaceous flavor with a minty-woody undertone.”
Patchouli is part of the mint family.
Oh interesting! One of my favorite scented soaps is a patchouli-mint blend. Now I understand why those scents marry together so nicely.
Wearing the not altogether natural Bombay Bling. It’s fun and gorgeous and a great mood lifter. All natural will have to wait for a bit.
Bombay Bling is so exuberant you just can’t feel bad wearing it (like Arielle Shoshana in that way).
Fun, gorgeous, and a great mood lifter are excellent reasons for wearing a perfume.
Hello all and happy Tuesday-
1)Rain, rain rain. I will not complain, because we all the need the rain to fall upon the plain!
2) Am in Atlantic, by Starnge Invisible Perfumes, and it fits this watery morning. Like all of the SIPs, there is little projection or sillage, but the scent is lovely- green smoky yet fresh vetiver forward scent.
“The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain…” I’m now singing!
Spent the morning wearing vintage BaV and wondering why Amouage Ubar doesn’t have a matching soap and lotion. Lonestar Memories and Ubar are the top 2 for which one is my next full bottle purchase. I can only choose one. The other part of my refund is going to be used for my mother’s birthday present of Honour woman. Spending the rest of the day in Une Rose Vermeille today.
Lonestar Memories!
I love both, it’s kind of easy to find good deals on Amouages though. At least in the Netherlands it is.
Nice choices for your next full bottle!
Another day of working from home (boo), but one of the main benefits is being able to wear as much perfume as I want. Today I chose Providence Perfume Company Samarinda. It has a lot of heft for a natural perfume, and today I’ll try to pay attention to its longevity. It’s hard to pick a favorite from PPC, and I haven’t tried nearly all of them, especially the newer releases, but Samarinda and Vientiane are both high on the list. I love the roasted seashell note (choya nakh).
I can’t even begin to imagine what a roasted seashell note smells like.
I wish I had the words to describe it!
I’m not sure I can pick it out, but the roasted seashell note is also in Smolderose by January Scent Project, which just came in my Olfactif box yesterday. I wore it last night and found it to be pretty special.
I really like Smolderose too. I *think* it might be my favorite from the line.
Me, too! (WFH) and yes on the perfume benefit. I am about to hop in the shower and after that I think it will be Theorema.
Do you think you’ll make it to the office tomorrow? I’m certainly going to make every effort. I’m quite sick of being in my apartment.
Good luck in getting to your office tomorrow, should the weather permit. Some of the news footage from the West Coast is crazy!
I am wearing Hermes 24 Faubourg and drinking a cup of white tea.
You are so elegant!
You smell divine!
You smell great!
You smell wonderful!
Classy!
My Aftelier discovery week continues with Cepes and Tuberose. It goes on smelling like wet dirt, and has settled into a softly floral, musty kind of territory. Not as fungal as the name suggests, but like the kind of place you might see mushrooms growing, like being in the woods and lifting up a damp, rotting log to look underneath.
I probably won’t wear it again, but I’m not repulsed like I was yesterday. It’s more an interesting experiment than something I’d personally wear. So not good luck so far, but I went with the weirder ones first on purpose.
“Weird” is an improvement over “nauseating”!
I have an appointment today so I went wirh Ancient Resins. I will top off with something else later.
Lovely and it layers nicely!
Good news from your appointment, I hope?
That teapot is OTT.
This is today forecast, which is also one of my favorite songs from the way way back:
https://youtu.be/hCZ9CoiytOA
I’m in Fils de Dieu and loving it.
Must wear this soon
You must! Such a mood lifter??
Must wear this soon
You smell great!
I love T Rex’s approximative sit by the way! My dachshund used to do something similar. She loved swimming but didn’t like sitting down in the wet.
Those doggos are so clever…?
You smell fantastic!
And you smell even better in CM! ?
Smelling great Deva!
I’m wearing Amouage Fate. Just in the mood for its spicy warm intensity. Still under the weather–what I thought was indigestion might be the flu. Yuck to this. Had to cancel classes and am just taking it very easy for now. I’m dressed, but ache all over. With even my neck muscles aching, I just couldn’t face lecturing today.
Feel better!
Get well soon!
Oh no! Please take care of yourself and get well.
Fate is so gorgeous; hope you’ve started to feel better by now!
Awww, that’s a bummer! I hope it isn’t the flu.
Back to work after a long absence, I am wearing Une Rose.
The return to home will be challenging since they are announcing a big snow storm.
You smell great! Be safe!
Thunked a sample of SSS Yin and Ylang. Sad it’s gone, it’s a beauty.
Oh, I adore SSS Y & Y. I have a few stray bottles of hers here and there.
Such beauties, all of them.
We are having a snow day, and it’s a welcome break – in fact, I might just take a nap after this. Wearing a sample of Papillon’s Tobacco Rose and am smelling something like linseed oil…the peru balsam perhaps. Nicely done, although I probably won’t need an entire bottle of it.
A nap sounds divine.
Snow day here, too, but my chatty toddler is so excited that he is boycotting his nap!
Lol. Kids love snow.
Happy Darwin Day, friends! I’m sick and I’m being a big baby about it. I took a NyQuil last night and stayed in bed until 9:30, then read a book over a cup of tea, and now am about to start working from home with a kitten on my lap. I smell pleasantly of the lovely chocolate orange tea I just finished. It’s the last of my teas from the Christmas market in Toulouse from December 2016 (!!!). It’s ok to keep tea that long, right? Well, it still tastes good, so I say it is.
My very loving boyfriend forgot leave me any noodle soup, so I might have to walk down the street to get a bowl for lunch later today, boohoo. Stay healthy, all!
Awww, sorry you’re sick, but sounds like great sick day plans! Or any day plans, for that matter. Feel better!
Thanks, Elisa P 🙂
Sleep is a fabulous medicine. As are kittehs….
Yes and yes! There’s one face-down in my lap right now 🙂
Oh man you must be sick to take NyQuil, that stuff tastes horrible! (And it always makes me think of Denis Leary.)Hope you are feeling better!
Thanks!
I actually take it in gelcap form. But even before then, I never minded NyQuil that much 🙂 It made me feel like pain mitigation was just around the corner!
It’s perfectly fine to keep tea that long. It doesn’t become unsafe in any way, it just might go stale. If you keep it in an airtight container, it will stay fresh longer.
I was mostly worried about the staleness 🙂 but it tasted fine this morning! I really should do a better job of keeping tea in airtight containers….
Oouf! NyQuil! 🙂
I love the stuff; though I’m not sure whether it actually makes me feel better or whether it just makes me not care so much about feeling bad…
Hahaha 🙂 I’m 99 % certain DayQuil makes me feel better, so I’m pretty sure NyQuil does, too. I do know NyQuil is the most effective sleep-inducer I’ve ever tried!
Eeeek, NyQuil! I remember trying absinthe for my first and only time and thinking that it tasted exactly like the green NyQuil.
L´Air de Rien. For me its a cozy cool weather scent.
Totally agree it’s a winter scent, you smell great.
After post work shower, my hand fell upon Iris de Nuit, I find it elegant and comforting at the same time.
Hello Y’all….
In the middle of a tornado warning here in the ATL….winter in the Deep South I guess!
Smelling warm, cozy and ambery in The Architect’s Club by Arquiste. Getting a dose of oud too…perfect for a blustery windy rainy gray day!
Jeeze Louise, Jada! Stay safe!
Looks like it’s over now…..never a fun announcement to make at a psych hospital. We’re agitated enough over here! 🙂
Phew! That sounds scary!
You smell great! All that coziness should hopefully soothe any agitation…!
Stay safe
Aroma M Geisha Vanilla Hinoki. The first couple of times I tried this, the opening really reminded me of a citronella candle. Today not so much.
Yet ANOTHER snow day for madtownteen again today. That makes 6 in the last month which I know is a record. I don’t think my two college kids got 6 days total during their public school years. Apparently this is the new normal. If there is snow predicted, school will be called off. This is Wisconsin after all, snow is expected.?
School was closed early today in my area too. We really haven’t had many snow days this yesr but a few few early releases and delayed srarts. It’s snowing here now but will be turning over to sleet and ice around dusk. The roads are terrible.
And I like Vanilla Hinoki. I don’t get citronella, just aromatic woods, not sweet vanilla and a little light lemon cutting through. It’s cozy. I wore it as a sleep scent last night.
I wasn’t so keen on it the first couple of times I wore it, but today it really worked!
I can send you my decant of Vanilla Hinoki if you want. It didn’t work for me, and I had no takers at the last swap meet. I’d love it to go to someone who will wear and enjoy it.
SW Chicago suburbs for all my school years. I don’t even remember a single snow day except during the winter of 1979-80. The plows just couldn’t keep up and the wind didn’t stop for days.
The only reason I remember this is because we had a visitor who was diabetic and didn’t have his insulin with him. We had to call 911, then they had to call the city plows to plow our little hood so the ambulance could get to him.
When we opened the front door, the portico was snowed in up to the roofline and we had to dig our way out to meet the ambulance. That was also the year roofs were collapsing due to the weight of accumulated snow. I remember my dad being on our mansard roof shoveling away while my mom sipped tea and complained about the cold ?
We never had snow days either. I grew up in the northern part of the state where it snows a little bit almost daily. By spring the snow banks along the side of the road would be taller than the roof of the car. On a day like today I would have wanted to go to school. Recess was so much fun with tons of snow and ones bffs to build snow forts with! They just don’t make midwesterners like they used to.?
Twins! I also get an odd, herbal/aromatic note in the early opening of Vanilla Hinoki. Will pay attention next time to see if it reminds me of citronella too.
Hey twin! Have you tried any others from this line? Yesterday I wore Geisha Blanche and I really like that one. Smells like a pretty smelling soap.
Yes, I got a decant of Geisha Noire in the freebiemeet and I’m really into it. It smells like resins and charred wood, with a lingering sweetness from tonka. I get ambergris too. Lots of people on Fragrantica compare it to Shalimar (I can’t comment because I’m not very well-acquainted with Shalimar).
Vol de Nuit EdT for me today, I was in the mood for something classic.
I am working from home today. I felt like a sissy this morning because no snow as of 8AM and then it started to come down and it is still snowing fine particles.
That teapot…I can’t even…
SOTD = Amouage Bel Aiden Attar
I got a decant from a Basenotes splitter and I’m glad I did. I don’t know where he sourced this since they are no longer in production. Rose, saffron, musk and could be cardamom or something else goody spicy (but NOT cumin).
My decant has a reddish label and the juice is auburn red!
Is this a natural fragrance? It’s probably more natural than not. Speaking of which, is Pacifica really all natural? Or do they actually not make that claim?
Pacifica isn’t all-natural, and they’re too inexpensive to be 100% natural. Their perfumes are “blended with essential oils”. I think they are trying to promote the eco-friendly aspect ie: vegan, cruelty free, etc. I think people see that and assume they’re all-natural also.
It is easy to be persuaded. There was a time when I thought I could only wear all natural fragrances but an allergic reaction to the Body Shop all natural not tested on animals strawberry scented oil stopped me cold before I got my perfume mojo back many years later!
Many of the naturals aren’t really completely natural. Pacifica uses fragrances oils along with essential oils in their natural grain alcohol. Aftelier and Hiram Green use fruit isolates which also aren’t essential oils (which would explain why one of the Aftelier body oils smelled screechy and chemically on me because of the usage of pear isolate). I guess it’s all in how you look at it. Probably the most natural would be to just use essential oils.
I agree with you! I am sitting on my hands with the orris butter / carrot oil blend. Knowing me, I would probably buy the ingredients and let them sit and not do anything with them.
If you want some of what I made just let me know… it’s bergamot, Orris, a dash of bitter almond, carrot seed, labdanum, vanilla and cedarwood… simply but root-y……you know where to find me.?
hajusuuri-
This article may shed some light. I think it’s very interesting and also I am certain that many other so called naturals are doing the same thing-
https://perfumesilove.com/2016/07/17/eu-natural/
I know have a headache…
Too bad he did not open it up for comments ?
I am sure there would have been lots of comments.
I remember seeing that! It was quite illuminating. He’s not saying that the brand isn’t natural, though. I actually took it as more of a jab at the people who think natural is necessarily better.
You were wise to stay home. Nothing sissy about it. Auburn red juice sounds pretty cool!
Given what the weather turned out to be today, I don’t think you were a sissy at all! I bet the trains were an even bigger mess than usual. Just yuck!
Vintage Cabochard EDT, the spray on that bottle is outstanding, wish they were all like this. There is an early spring feel in the air this evening.
Vintage Cabochard is just plain perfect. I think I will join you in some tonight ?
Very envious of your early spring feel????
So we will have been twins in the evening 🙂
I’m wishing some spring weather to come your way soon.
Wearing Chypre Mousse and feeling a bit like a broken record. 🙂
LOL. Could this be from the split from when you lived in CA? That was my very first split and I was lucky that it was a splash bottle!
Amazingly, no! I used that up! At least, I’m pretty sure I did. I think that was only 5mL. I definitely used up my first 5mL.
This is a subsequent 10 or 15mL. I think it was a different split. But now I’m not sure.
OMG, is this the mark of a true perfumista? Not being able to remember how you got perfumes?
We have another snow day, kids are at home and I am enjoying their company. I’ve decided to make today a day off for myself as well- all the chores can wait! 🙂
Took a long shower, covered my legs with a mix of Shea Moisture Baby lotion ( the one with frankincense and myrrh) and Elemis Superfood facial oil and sprayed my arm with Apoteke Tepe Pale Fire from a forgotten bag of samples. I am feeling decadent, lazy and happy! 🙂
I LOVE that body lotion…it smells sooooo good.
It does! Also it is very good at moisturizing- I use it on hands as well. On my second bottle and plan to repurchase it forever 🙂
Have you tried their lavender and ylang baby lotion? Smells so serene, and it comes from someone who doesn’t even like the smell of anything lavender.
Between my husband and I (believe it or not he also loved it not so much because of the smell but because of it’s moisturizing ability) went through about five pumps of it…then my local supermarket stopped carrying it 🙁
I should really look for it again at Target or Ulta to see if they have it. I will keep my eyes open for the lavender and ylang too because I am a huge lavender fan!
What I meant was five bottles (they come with a pump!)
Ha! My DH also uses Francincense and Myrrh for his hands 🙂 and I don’t mind sharing. I also add 2-3 dropps of argan oil to a pump of a lotion to make it work even better.
Target and Ulta still carry it, but Lavender and Manuka Honey with ylang is harder to find in stores. Also check Walgreens

I had to come back and share this funny fragrance video. It does have a tiny bit of swearing, but it’s pretty funny.
?”I can’t believe you’re wearing Sauvage. Disgusting.” Literally LOL.
?, the fish and chips was what got me!
?
Lol, thanks for the laugh lillyjo!
My pleasure ?
I like his attitude. 😀
Commando again for day two of the dog show, but my husband was wearing Rhubarb Eclarte. It’s evening, but I think I’m going to sorry in some Geisha Noire. Goes with the nasty weather.
I so very much want a Miniature Bull Terrier. They were the single most entertaining breed I saw today. Such little comedians! Even the judge was laughing. The other standout was the Black Russian Terrier. So massive! After they were done judging, the winning dog and its friend started playing at the side of the ring while the handlers chatted. The winning dog’s leash actually broke as the handler tried to contain him. Try to imagine a terrier temperament in a creature that’s bigger than a mastiff….
Sorry, not sorry..lol. That should be spray on.
My girls and I love watching Westminster when it’s on TV, I can’t imagine how fun it must be to watch in person!
It’s really fun, but it’s also an ordeal. Some breeds are very popular, so it’s hard to get close enough to see the judging. (I wanted to see dobermans, since my nephew has one, but I gave up.) Others, I found seats in a front row by the ring.
We don’t go to the nighttime thing at Madison Square Garden. We watch that on TV. We used to go, but we prefer the breed judging, which is during the day. You can wander and get close to the dogs in the grooming / benching areas. Or when they’re just hanging around waiting to go into the ring.
Noted, will never consider owning a Black Russian Terrier! Yeesh that must have been a handful.
Eh assuming not entirely natural in 7 Virtues Jasmine of India, and very happy to note that it’s got just a little funk, which is more than enough for me!
I can only take it in small doses too.
Something about indoles… I’d watch that movie. 🙂
Ha!
Posting late today! It was really yucky here weatherwise… mostly a cold driving rain for most of the day. However, Mr. Jalapeno did mention that a bit of sleet was mixed in with the rain during his morning commute. The sleet disappeared shortly after that. ☔
SOTD = Olympic Orchids Ballet Rouges EdP, from the sample stash. Scent-wise, it kind of reminds me of Tauer’s Un Rose Chypree in feel, with both of them featuring dark roses. But there are definite differences between the two. The OO scent doesn’t have the incredible tenacity on my skin that a Tauer does.
Argh! That should be “UNE Rose Chypree”.
Let’s hope this is the last of yuk driving weather for awhile.
Last time I looked outside, it was still raining. ?
Prompted by comments over the weekend, I wore Copal Azur today which perfectly matched the chilly grey weather.
I’m seriously considering breaking out some “Winter Warmer” type perfumes in the next couple of days.
Wearing Pacifica(natural mostly)Island Vanilla body lotion and perfume.
