Happy Monday, and happy New Year's Eve. It's also the 7th day of Christmas (swans a swimming) and the 6th day of Kwanzaa. Birthdays: Diane von Fürstenberg and Anthony Hopkins. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm in Diptyque Tam Dao layered with Diptyque Philosykos.
Reminder: on 1/4, wear a fragrance to match Living Coral, Pantone's color of the year for 2019 (see below).
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2019, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

A big bottle of Philosykos was one of my purchases this year. I regret I waited so long to experience it. It is lovely and not like anything else I own.
Isn’t it wonderful?
I love the woody drydown of that one
I’ve been telling myself that a bottle of this is a MUST for me in 2019. It will likely be the only one, but it will be so gratifying on its own. Good for you!
Oh yes, it’s wonderful. I am so happy I have a bottle!
Robin, you’re Double Diptyque-ing!
Happy New Year’s Eve everyone! ?????
I am ending 2018 finishing a full bottle of Gucci Guilty, THUNK!
Tonight, I will spend it with my family quietly at home. I will be wearing my beloved and #1 favorite iris Chanel 28 La Pausa EdT. Enjoy the day, enjoy the night. Whatever you do be in peace and be happy. Hugs!
Happy New Year, pl67!!!!
I will add some Cuir de Russie to my neck tonight so we will be house twins! But I may be crashing before 7pm LOL!
Happy New Year CM8! I wish I could be in bed by 7pm, but we will stay up until midnight. At least I will be waking up late tomorrow!
Happy New Year! What iris is 28 La Pausa closest to?
Happy New Year Lillyjo. I cannot compare La Pausa to any other iris perfume. I wish I could find something very close to it.
Happy New Year pl67, sounds like a nice evening.?✌️
Happy New Year to you too Madtowngirl. A quiet evening is the best. We will have dinner together and then be watch tv until 12am. I am glad the holidays are over!
28 La Pausa is a great scent to farewell 2018 and welcome 2019.
It is! ?
Ooh, you will smell fabulous. Happy New Year!
Thank you Sistine! Happy New Year! ?
there’s nothing more satisfying imo than emptying products! especially perfume as it’s so rare I actually get all the way through one. Congrats!
I agree! It is much easier to finish body lotions, soaps, make up, etc. I guess the amount of perfumes we have and how little we spend on each bottle prevent us from reducing our collection. Nothing more satisfying than finishing a full bottle. Decants and samples go faster!
Ending the year on a thunk, yay! Happy new year!
It couldn’t be better! ?. Happy New Year Cazaubon!
Congratulations on your FB THUNK! Way to go, ending this year on a high note! ??
Hola from Barcelona! It’s a lovely city, filled with bars, cafes, and shops. I am on the lookout for a perfume shop called Les Tropettes, but haven’t come across it yet in my perambulations. I have, though, visited the Boqueria Market, which is some overstimulating fun.
Happy New Year, everybody. Let’s make this a better one than the last. Safe travels on this eve, and buena suerte in the upcoming year.
¡Hola! One day, maybe I will get to visit Barcelona!
Have a wonderful time! Happy New Year!
Barcelona is the lovely Mr. Spicebomb’s favorite city! He keeps trying to talk me into expatriating there.
Hola Lisa D! Happy New Year!
The Boqueria Market is great. Enjoy your stay!
Thrilled you’re enjoying Barcelona! I love la Boqueria (but yes, it’s a bit much!). Is there any sign of the recent Catalonian unrest? I’ve been wondering if going to Barcelona is ok right now.
Enjoy Barcelona! Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! Good luck finding the perfume shop.
Barcelona sounds fantastic! Enjoy starting the new year there!
Enjoy Barcelona, one of my favorite cities! The Perfumery is lovely if you haven’t visited it yet, and so are Perfumeria Regia’s flagship store and La Basílica Galleria.
Question for everyone: how many bottles did you finish this year?
Me: zero! I didn’t even finish many decanted! But I hate to finish things and live to save them. I hardly ever even finish samples!
Finished one – of Atelier Cologne Silver Iris.
I’m a zero too.
a lot…between making decants for family and friends and just spraying lavishly- a lot….my guess maybe 10? or more?
Wow! What did you finish? What do you wear the most often?
Oud Al Sahraa, Arz El Rab, Stash, leau de Kasaneka, Sublime, Falling in Love, Soleil de Capris, Ginger Musk, Tendre, eau de Campagne, Black Flower Mexican Vanilla… I am sure more that I just can’t remember…. and I have finished a large amount of samples and decants as well.
And Nu, Philosykos and my 200 ml bottle of Orange Sanguine.
And Reglisse Noire which I wore for three and a half weeks straight…. I have approximately 1 ml left in the bottle so I consider it done.
Wow! Great work!
Fresh Cream Warm Cashmere: It’s super light so that was easy to finish.
Fleur de Oranger (Prada) This was a mini from a Prada Mini set.
Aromatics: This was a mini that a bought a few years ago. Potent stuff so it took a while to use up.
Rose Jam shower gel and (almost) Black Jade from Lubin
I *just* bought my first bottle of Rose Jam shower gel. I am aware that I’m am about 3 years behind the times (which, honestly, seems pretty good for me)!
Ha! But honestly that is good, since Rose Jam is now a permanent addition to the shower gel collection available in stores and online!
I’ve been having fun matching/pairing my post-bath scents to it. Any recommendations?
1000 Flowers Rose Cassis Paradis is a perfect match for Rose Jam.
It goes very well with woods and incense!
Smell Bent Prairie Nymph is Rose Jam-esque
I have no idea, except it certainly was none! (How could it not be?!)
However, when I was cleaning up in preparation for selling my house, I found perhaps half a dozen empty bottles (which suggests I occasionally finish them, I suppose). I couldn’t convince myself to throw them out, so at some point I will likely offer them up for freebies to folks who like such things.
I finished nary a bottle….not even close! I need to spray more? LOL
If you have to ask, the answer is certainly yes. ?
Just one actual bottle. Stella.
I believe just one, Prada Candy, early in the year. I saved the bottle, but finally threw it out the other day.
It’s really hard for me to throw away pretty empty bottles and boxes, even though I never use them!
Still have a empty bottle of JM Pear and Freesia, which i finished this year…
1: Atelier Bois Blonds. I would like to finish more this year, and also focus on wearing scents I really love. Life is too short.
I love Bois Blonds and Trefle Pur.
Only one that I can think of—Jo Malone Orange Blossom, a souvenir from our trip to Seattle four years ago. I also hate to finish a bottle unless I have a replacement all ready to go. The thought of never smelling a particular perfume again makes me sad, so I tend to hoard the last few mls. I consider a bottle “finished” if it is down to ~10% or less of its original volume.
Yes, I do that too. I tell myself that the last few mls are for ‘reference’ in case the perfume is reformulated. ?
Zero bottles, many samples! (Dozens.) A large number of 5-mL decants (maybe ten or so). I’ve been making an active effort to finish samples and decants that I think might go bad or evaporate away.
Which decants did you finish?
I probably should’ve recorded this, huh? Let’s see–Dame Verbena, Freesia, & Musk; Dame Dark Horse; SSS Tabac Aurea (but only after I was able to purchase a travel spray!); By Kilian Straight from Heaven; Tauer LADDM; Tauer Incense Rosé; MFK Grand Soir; TF Santal Blush; and some others I can’t recall.
I used to HATE finishing things and would always hoard the last 0.3 mL or so of any decant or sample, but I’ve since grown to embrace throwing out empty vials
I am not keeping a record, but I finished several bottles, decants and samples and I will continue doing that next year.
About 16 or 17 samples, and 3 full bottles (although, full disclosure, none of the FBs were actually full when I started.) I’m hoping to do 12 samples and one FB this year.
None! I used up lots of samples, but haven’t emptied a full bottle in about 10 years!
don’t think I’ve finished anythjng bigger than sample size…maybe a no-buy for next year is in order
Not a one. I finished some samples and decants, though, so that’s something. I did get rid of a bunch of bottles I wasn’t reaching for, so feels like I finished them (really just finished *with* them)!
What did you give up?
I think I must have finished 4 or 5. I work at home so constantly top up . High Country Tussock and Mea (both NZ perfumes) , JM Primrose and Rye, Smoked Ambergris, Kyoto and Mon Guerlain. Mostly 30ml except the Tussock . I don’t buy samples but I also used up a 10ml of JM Honeysuckle and Davina I was given, plus shop samples (2ml?) of all the Chanel Eaux, and a couple more JMs.
I work from home 2 weeks each month and definitely wear more than my customary single spray— but probably not more than 2 sprays. I should do that!
Three 7.5 ml bottles of Chanel extraits, plus 10 3-5 ml decants and at least that many sample vials. My goal is to finish a real FB (50mls or more) in 2019!
I need to finish more decants. I hardly ever do.
One – Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt. At least 40 samples either emptied or given away.
Zero full bottles.
2 – 3 decants.
Not sure how many samples I finished. Some were THUNKED, and others were given away or swapped.
One full bottle (Lush Dear John body pray), one rollerball mini (Pacifica Tahitian Gardenia, but it was partially due to evaporation), one large decant (Pino Silvestre Original, 20 ml), three smaller (under 10 ml) decants – Escentric 03, SL Bois de Violette and Opium, lots of samples.
I finished two bottles: Lavanila Vanilla Lavender and Caudalie The Des Vignes Eau Fraiche!
Started with Cuir de Russie at 1am…post shower Casablanca and an all natural Lartisan to which I added patchouli , orange and mandarin e.o.s to give it a bit more oomph.
Happy New Year everyone!
Don’t forget that tomorrow is RABBIT RABBIT RABBIT
Thanks for the reminder. Happy New Year!
You too lillyjo!
Twins in Casablanca, coutresy of you!
Hi scent twin ??
Happy New Year! Your essential oil blend sounds great.
Happy New year, sistine !!!
Happy New Year, CM8! ??✨????
You too!!! And love the bunnies!!
You smelled marvelous!
1) Doing end of quarter and end of year reports, so am in office instead of my pjs!
2) Am in Aromatics shower gel and nothing else- later on, I will be in something sparkling for the at home NYE party: Lubin Epidor!
I love Epidor! Hope the work day flies by.
You’re in the best layering combo ever, Robin! I’m in Autoportrait today and enjoying the extra time to get weekend chores done. Happy New Year’s Eve everyone!
Happy New Year’s Eve to you!
Happy New Year’s Eve SheriG!
Belated reply, but yes I was
And a very happy 2019 to you.
Good morning…HAPPY NEW YEAR (in a few hours here…)
Ending the year in an old favorite….Chanel No 5 EdT. Guess this scent will celebrate its 100 birthday in another couple of years?
Happy New Year’s Eve! Are you feeling better? You smell glorious.
Feeling almost 100% today…..was some sort of quickly virus!
quickie virus….that left quickly….LOL
Yes, 1921 was it? I’ll have to go check. She introduced it just for her couture clients at first, before it went into full production.
No scent, yet, except maybe some bits left over from last night’s L’Heure Bleue. Might reach for it again; I needed it’s soft, cuddly embrace!
Happy New Year’s Eve all! This time last year, Mr. Spicebomb and I were heading home from our Italian honeymoon, on layover in Amsterdam. Explosions rocked the air from dark until dawn. It was an incredible sight, and I have no need to do it again.
LHB is gorgeous in the drydown, and happy Anniversary!
Thanks! Actually, we married in July and postponed the honeymoon until December, so we wouldn’t be traveling in the hot of August. It was a bit cold, but overall lovely, and I think we made a good decision.
We have a new puppy, and our town goes fireworks crazy on New Year’s Eve. I wish everyone would choose to just have a nice dinner by candlelight instead, because I suspect she will be very stressed.
Aw, poor thing. Maybe some cuddles and a little shirt or just wrapping of towels would help?
Gosh, I didn’t even consider how the crazy of Amsterdam might be for pets–terrifying! Rumor has it that anyone local, who is able to, leaves. Hope they bring their furry friends with them!
Yes, fireworks are hard on pets, especially dogs. Hope it is over soon. Poor pup.
LHB would be a lovely choice for tonight, IMO.
Scent of the morning is Orris Tattoo from a sample courtesy of hajusuuri.
Oh, and Happy New Year! ?
Happy New Year!
Happy new year lilyjo! I hope that you have an early evening.
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year Sistine!
Oh how do you like it? I wore it last night and was reminded that I really like it and may need a bottle.
It’s a like but not a love for me. Something in the base bothers me a tiny bit.
Although, they did a great job naming it.
Happy New Year Petunia!
Happy New Year to you Jalapeno!
Happy New Year’s Eve, dear friends, and New Year’s to those of you who are many hours ahead I am in the exquisite and date-appropriate Tauer Incense Rosé, which is a wonderfully effervescent scent on me (along with a hefty dose of cardamom). My mother says I smell like snuff and won’t come near me, but tobacco isn’t even in the notes.
And now [drumroll please]: my stats! Now that it’s the last day of the year, I can tell you what my most-worn perfumes and houses are. My accounts are not perfectly accurate. I have had no-perfume days, but I have also had multiple-perfume days. Instead of keeping track of how many 0 or >1 days I had, I just put my secondary perfume names into the blank slots. I may change this in the coming year, but that would mess up the nice automated features of spreadsheets, so I don’t know. It would be nice to know how many scentless/overscented days I have.
The clear house winner is Hermès, at 26 wears. Honorable mention go to Serge Lutens (18), l’Artisan Parfumeur (17), and Tauer (15). This is totally expected for me and agrees with my idea of my tastes.
The individual perfume victors are less obvious to me. Camel is the winner at just eight wears, followed by Passage d’Enfer and LADDM (six). I’ve also worn something called Vétiver six times, but I discovered that that might be the Guerlain, Annick Goutal, or Dior, so I can’t count that. Sheesh, come up with more names! Anyway, the winners are three of my favorite scents, but I’m shocked by how few times I wore them. I’m also surprised at how few times I wore other favorites. I’m surprised by how many scents I wore just once (109 perfumes!!!). I guess surfing the sample sea necessarily means I don’t wear my loves as much.
I’m torn between my goals for the coming year. On the one hand, it would be great to keep sample sea surfing. It helps me figure out which samples to give away, because my strong FOMO keeps me from passing on samples I haven’t made a decision on. On the other hand, I spent nearly a third of this year wearing something I didn’t necessarily love. Do I want to do that again, or do I want to be more focused? Something for me to ponder over the next few days.
But I definitely want to try and keep track of my usage next year again. I have much to ponder perfumically indeed. Best wishes for 2019!!!
I’m going to try and keep track this year, except with pen and paper ?
Nice! I’m CERTAIN I’d be much worse at keeping track on paper than I would be on the computer (and would make end-of-year stats more time-consuming), but it’s awesome if that works for you Good luck!
Wow, really great statistics!
I think the dilemma between sampling and wearing what you love is a really essential question about priorities! Is it more important to you to experience variety and give new things a try or do you value savoring known loves? Of course, it doesn’t have to be all or nothing–you could set a sample “budget” of, say, no more than two days a week, or whatever seems appropriate.
Me, personally, I’ve mostly decided to let sampling go. The sample bowl is full-to-overflowing, and I will likely never get it all properly tried. I sniff things when I go out shopping, but otherwise spend time with the scents I love (and like 50 Roses above, make sure I have a back-up-bottle before I finish anything). But I am not the novelty-seeker I once was.
Thanks, MR I look forward to being like you someday (perhaps by the end of next year, depending on how the year goes!). I really like your idea of budgeting exploration of the new vs. indulgence in the loved. Maybe a weekday/weekend split!
I tried that for a while (weekend/weekday split) but I kept running into scents I loved that I didn’t think were right for work. Then, I needed weekends to let my freak flag fly . . . And I didn’t want to sample at work because what if it was an awful scrubber, and I had no recourse to get rid of it?!!
This might explain why I hardly ever sample anymore. ?
Hahaha! I have EBPs at work (emergency backup perfumes), but ending up with a scrubber in a place where it would be difficult to get rid of scent is a very real concern!
I’m also less considerate about work scents than you. I don’t like many freaky scents, and in any case don’t work in terribly close physical proximity with anyone (at least 10′ and two cubicle walls between me and my closest neighbors), so I tend to wear whatever I want.
This was my decision too. Just get rid of the samples and wear my true loves that are in my collection. I don’t need any more than what I’ve already got.
Great stats! I am wearing many of my samples to use them up and discovering which I enjoy and many which I don’t particularly care for.
Next steps are to burn through decants. For the most part, I love what I already have, so $$ saved.
I have been doing the same…focusing on samples and decants…not because I don’t like or love them as quite a few I do but rather because I am worried about evaporation and would rather use them than lose them!
Thanks! Yep, gotta use them up before they spoil or evaporate!
Great summary! I will be doing mine tomorrow. I didn’t want to choose today’s perfume to try to skew the results for 2018.
I have decided to order no more samples (or indeed bottles) – I have so many lovely things just waiting to be tried or used, and I want to enjoy the beauty that is already in my closet.
Good for you! I am sure shopping your closet will give you plenty of enjoyment
I know what you mean–I regret having figured out how to analyze my year’s results on 26 Dec. Once I saw what my results were, it was very difficult to actually wear what I wanted to with no thought to how that would change the numbers. I was aided by the fact that I’m far from my primary collection, so I was already limited. Looking forward to seeing your list! I’ve loved seeing people’s lists here today.
Hi there, house twin! I do not smell anything resembling tobacco or snuff in Incense Rose (thankfully). Tobacco is one of those “exploding” notes on me… I amplify it and it will take over.
Hey there I always thought I’d love le Maroc pour elle, but I tried it earlier this year and HATED it. Maybe I need to give it another try.
I was wondering if maybe I don’t really know what tobacco smells like? Maybe perfumes that have tobacco all also have another note that I think is tobacco? Or else my mother knew people who used very aldehydic, incensey snuff!
Hope your 2019 starts off better than your 2018 is finishing off <3
If you have ever been near a tobacconist’s shop, you have definitely smelled tobacco. I’d say that it is woody and leafy, maybe with a hint of allspice.
Oh–meant to say I LOVE Jungle l’Elephant, so I’ll definitely need to try out Fils de Dieu!
Thanks for your stats, Koyel.
To keep some balance between old and new, I assign five scents from my FBs and large decants for each month and make sure I wear each of the five at least thrice in that month. I also rotate smaller/medium-sized decants (6-15 ml). Plus, I make sure I try at least 8-10 samples per month. I usually do it chronologically. Kind of complicated, but otherwise I feel that I either neglect my favorites or leave samples unsniffed too long.
That sounds like a great idea! I tried to have some rotation system, but I ended up flooding the system until it was ineffective. I will need to be more organized about it this time! (Though I’ll have to allow for cheat days for when I get new packages or when I really want something!)
Happy New Year’s Eve! For me 2019 is just a little bit more than 6 hours away.
I’m spending tonight at home with my dad with some food, drinks and tv. My mom has to be at work (hospital) for this night.
Closing this year with one of my favorites – Prada Purple Rain.
Here’s to hope 2019 is fantastic to all of us
Happy New Year Lucasai! You smell fantastic in such an iris beauty!
Happy New Year! Enjoy your night with your dad.
Happy New Year, I enjoyed reading your blog post of best of 2018!
Sharing your hopes for 2019 lucasai!
Swans are a-swimmin’ was the first thing that popped into my head this morning when I saw that image. It took me a few minutes to place the lyrics, but now I have The National playing in my head.
SotD is Aroma M Geisha Blanche. I have the edp on one wrist and the perfume oil on the other. Pretty sure it was Elisa P that made me want to try this one. Perfumes that smell like fancy soap is one of my favorite categories, and this one definitely fits the bill.
I’m sure I will be fast asleep when the clock strikes 12. Happy New Years Eve everyone!?
You know I never really pursued the Aroma M line. I emailed her a while back with a question and never got a response back so that kind of turned me off to the brand.
Bummer! The same thing happened to me with Vilhelm perfumes. When I discovered there was a perfume called Dear Polly a few years ago, I just had to try it. At the time only Barney’s was carrying the line, and I live…nowhere near a Barney’s.? I emailed them directly and never got a response.? Rude. I agree, it can turn a person off to an entire line.
Totally agree, I wouldn’t suffer through rudeness for any perfume.
Have you tried it yet? You can buy samples of it from Aedes.
I have! When Arielle Shoshana started carrying the line I was able to order a sampler set. She even included a sweet, hand-written note- now THAT’S customer service.
It is a really nice tea scent, but I’m not sure if it’s a love. I really wanted it for the name.?
Aww. That’s too bad. Though I’ve met her in person a couple of times at perfume events here and she’s pretty nice, so I doubt it was intentionally dismissive. In any event, she makes some interesting stuff and they’re definitely worth trying. I’ve liked quite a few!
Yes but there are other indie perfumers whose scents I adore… I won’t go chasing after a house who can’t respond to an email.
Yeah, I try to give people the benefit of the doubt and avoid attributing intentional malice in such cases, especially to busy people.
Probably me, lol. I think I’m the only one I’ve seen mention it. How’s the edp? I only have tried the oil. And I think you smell great! I like it in the summer a lot.
Thank you! To my nose, they smell exactly the same. Maybe sprayed the edp would project more…? The oil seemed to last longer, but they were both pretty short lived. I will have to put my samples aside and try them again in summer. It is a really pretty scent.
I love Aroma M Vanilla Hinoki. It’s so beautifully sheer and aromatic that I really don’t think of it as a vanilla scent.
I can totally see that, it’s definitely not a syrupy sweet vanilla, but I got too much lemon- almost reminding me of a citronella candle. I finally found my “perfect” vanilla in Atelier Vanille Insensee.
p.s. I saw your post yesterday and I would be happy to send you some Fleur de Peau if you’d like.
Aww. Thank you MTG! You probably won’t see this so I’ll comment again when Robin opens the daily post.
You can email me at pkwisdom in the land of yahoo. Happy to share!
Happy New Year’s Eve madtowngirl!
Happy New Year’s Eve to you Jalapeno!
I know you have had a lot of things going on in the past few months and I hope 2019 has good things in store for you!!
Thank you! ??
Currently wearing Tuscan Leather. .. another one I don’t wear enough. We are getting freezing rain and snow tonight, so I will probably switch to Casmir before work for comfort. Wishing everyone a safe and healthy New Year!
Two gorgeous scents….every time I hear mention of Tuscan Leather I think of Peter from fragranceview…and Casmir, well middle Marzipan “borrowed” my bottle
Stay safe and warm lillyjo! We are getting freezing rain too. and Happy New Year!
I think of Peter too! Interesting, though, he describes it as being huge projection wise, I dab it on, so it really stays close to the skin on me.
Casmir!! Lillyjo, I meant to tell you…I was going through box of old keepsakes recently and came across a mini of Casmir! I had totally forgot I had it, I was so excited.?
Oh my gosh, I bet it’s so cute! I’ve never seen a mini of Casmir!
Yes, it is super cute! I’m guessing it was part of a gift set because I also have a jar of the Body Silk that is kind of a peachy/ flesh color- I haven’t used either one and I have probably had them since about 1994.
Body silk?! Wow, never seen that either. Casmir was sold here for maybe 6 months then poof, gone.
Oh yay! They took me out of the advisory! Yes!
Great news! Happy New Year. I hope you stay warm and comfortable
You smell wonderful! Glad you’re no longer under the freezing rain advisory
Glad that the freezing rain advisory went away for you! Stay warm and safe!
It is a lovely day here in the southern hemisphere…
Perfect temperature and sunny!
I will wear (and actually open!) a bottle of Le Jardin de Monsieur Li tonight. So I can start the new year and a new Hermes perfume at the same time.
Runner up was my trusty Brin de Reglisse but I think I will wear that tomorrow for lunch with the in-laws.
Happy New Year to all!
Happy New Year! Enjoy your new bottle ?
Happy new year, how great is that to crack open a new bottle to ring in the new year!
Happy New Year! You will have a great smelling holiday.
Happy New Year from a fellow southerner. What perfumes have you been wearing this summer? I expect it’s really hot were you are.
Attrape-Coeur. Yesterday was Vega. These two represent the dangers of keeping precious bottles of perfume shut away for safekeeping. I forget that I have them and consequently never wear them. I am hoping that’s by clearing out the bottles I never wear, I can pay more attention to some I simply forget to wear.
Ooh, you smell amazing!
How/where do you store your bottles?
I keep mine in a drawer, safe from sunlight but still pretty visible. This is a great reminder not to let my collection get bigger than what I can see!
I’m always amazed by the people who have cabinets and cabinets of perfumes. I want to have that available to me but given how much trouble I have with using the things I love already, perhaps it’s best that I don’t.
When I reorganized my perfumes Saturday, I discovered I have two bottles of Attrape-Coeur. Good news, but the fact that they were so crammed together I had no idea is a bad sign. All fixed now, I can really see what I’ve got.
You know, if you don’t need both bottles, you could sell it. That stuff goes for really impressive prices on eBay.
Ah-hem. I have personal data that backs up this statement. ?
Yes I have some Vega too, and love it, and forget to look for the bottle and use it!
Chergui for a bright sunny day. ?
Yay for sun? Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to you too! T-Rex just posted a greeting for you know who! Sorry for the huffing and puffing- these dunes are a workout! ✌?
Awesome! Will show her when I get out of work tonight ?
p.s. Please send sun! It was sunny in the northern part of the state, but now I’m back home to dreary.?
Very familiar with dreary weather! It gets old after a while, for sure. Hoping the sun makes a strong appearance in your part of the world very soon! ?
It looks gorgeous in Oregon. Thanks for posting so many videos and pictures. Happy New Year!
You’re welcome! I’m glad you enjoy them. I think I should have been a travel photographer or something along those lines. Hope your New Year’s Eve was fabulous!
Happy New Year Deva! ?✨???
Thank you and same to you! Sorry for the delayed response- I was in the no phone zone. ✌?
Waft some my way…
Beautiful fragrance. Hope you had a great day!
Thank you and you too! ✌?
L’Artisan Mont de Narcisse for the last day of 2018.
Have a happy and healthy 2019!
Happy New Year everybody.
Wore Bulgari Black in the morning, now switching to vintage Shalimar EDT.
Will have a nice dinner at home with the boyfriend. Homemade Gravlax, then Foie Gras with homemade baguette and Tete de Veau as a main course with roast potatoes and Sauce gribiche….
My most worn scent of the year was Fils de Dieu, followed by Dzing! Then LDDM and Felanilla. Had not thought, that i had such a thing with vanilla, i thought i preferred rose scents or fresher ones. Just surprised myself
Fils de Dieu sounds wonderful. I’ve been wanting to find an affordable rice perfume since I sniffed and loved the much pricier Santal Basmati this spring! I’ll have to give that one a try.
If you Like your Rice with herbs and spices and savoury, then get it… Would send you some, but i am in Germany, sorry
Thanks for the kind thought <3 I sure do like my rice that way!
Koyel, if you like Jungle l’Elephant, then you should totally try Fils de Dieu.
Can I come over for dinner? It sounds amazing. I’ll bring the champagne.
Wow, that is a gourmet feast!
Dug out an oil I bought on sale about a year ago and haven’t worn much.
Nuit Desert by LVNEA which is an all-botanical brand. This is a really nice slightly indolic jasmine and earthy wood-smoke, a little vetiver. It doesn’t last long though ?
Hoping things look up in the coming year for those going through trying times.
Not sure how I’m going to celebrate tonight ? I’m working today so I probably won’t be super motivated to go out late. I may attend a NYE meditation and intention setting Buddhist ceremony locally and in walking distance (and free!) About as much energy as I probably will have to expend, lol.
That sounds like a wonderful, quiet, empowering way to end the year!
It’s only about 10 blocks away so that’s my primary motivation, lol. But, yes, it does sound nice and hopefully meaningful. I intended to go last year but it was like 2 degrees out and didn’t even want to walk a block! It’s much warmer today so hopefully I’ll get there…
Oh, and just thought I’d spread the word for the film “If Beale Street Could Talk” which I saw last night. I really enjoyed it and, unfortunately, still timely. I think James Baldwin would be proud of this translation to film.
I hope you have a great New Year’s Eve, no matter what you end up doing.
Thank you Sistine! And same to you ?
Whatever you decide to do tonight, I hope you enjoy it Elisa P!
That’s a beautiful way to ring in the New year.
Back to my personal project of trying all the untouched samples in my collection. Today it is The House of Oud The Time. Not as interesting as I had hoped.
How many are there?
I am ending the old year in Chanel no 19. Needed some extra backbone to deal with customer nonsense. When I get off, it will be vintage BaV.
Twins, though I am starting 2019 in 19 . Happy New Year, Dawn. I hope 2019 brings you happiness
Thank you, working retail tends to bring out the worst in me. Hopefully it will get better.
Same. Hope it’s not so bad.
Both smell wonderful. I hope work is better than you expect. Happy New Year!
Retail is challenging this time of year, I’m sure. I can’t really even stand to shop these days. Hope 19 is helping and hoping things quiet down after the new year!
Dawn, I hope that today is/was a reasonable day for you!
Happy New Year friends! Thanks for another year of wonderful community and like-minded souls. It’s December 31 and I’ve already abandoned my no-buy and spent my January budget. There was a little bottle of Slumberhouse Brosse for under $100 and I couldn’t pass it up but still, HA.
Here’s what Basenotes says I wore most this year:
1 Thé Pour un Été by L’Artisan Parfumeur (10)
2 L’Eau du Fleuriste by L’Artisan Parfumeur (9)
3 Sådanne by Slumberhouse (9)
4 Moss Gown by Providence Perfume Co. (8)
5 Monsieur Balmain (new) by Pierre Balmain (8)
6 Sweet Jasmine Brown by Providence Perfume Co. (8)
7 Elephant by Zoologist Perfumes (8)
8 Scandal by Lanvin (8)
9 Équipage by Hermès (7)
10 Tea for Two by L’Artisan Parfumeur (6)
Sigh, I really do have enough beauty in my closet… but I’ve also just discovered DSH Chinchilla… maybe a 6 month no-buy? Surely I could last till July!
Ahahaha. Good luck with the six-month no-buy! I believe in you! I’ve hardly tried any of your most-sniffed, but a lot of them sound lovely Enjoy Brosse (and probably soon Chinchilla? it really is beautiful, especially when layered with something a bit tempering)!
You know, Orthodox new year’s is on January 14th, you could start then. Just sayin’.
And Chinese New Year is February 5.?
The school year doesn’t start until August/ September.
Very nice deal on that Slumberhouse bottle!
Happy New Year’s Eve everyone! It’s one of my favorite days of the year! Everyone I encountered out and about today seemed particularly friendly and happy, so much so that I took a look in my car mirror to see if I had something on my face that made everyone beam at me in apparent delight!
I made an effort! I located my sample of Rahat Loukoum which I may buy a decant of at some far-distant point in time. I almost went for Eau Cerise cuz it’s close-to-hand but hey! I just might layer that on or around or what-have-you later. No wait … I WILL do that, no “might”!
Exclaiming’s my favorite!
I am now beaming with delight myself and really and truly looking forward to 2019. This last year has taught me a lot and I have had to stretch to accommodate the growth that change brings. As the song says, thank u next. I’m ready, bring it on!
Happy New year, Holly. Glad to hear that you are back to enjoying your fragrances. All the best for 2019.
Love this post! Also love exclaiming!
Hurray! and thank you!
I’m glad everyone around you is having a great day, and that you are as well. Happy New Year’s Eve!
Thank you! Happy New Year’s Eve to you as well!
!!!!! Your post made me smile ?
Thank you! I’m glad to hear it!
This was a ray of sunshine in written form! ?
Thank you, Jalapeno!
Happy New Year, NST!!!!! Best wishes to all of you for a wonderful 2019!
In Jasmine de Provence this morning/afternoon. I will switch to something (probably vintage Byzance, which will then be a THUNK) for the evening’s party.
Ooh, you smell great! I love both Jasmin de Provence and Byzance.
Oooooh, congrats on your upcoming THUNK!
On the last day of the year, I’m wearing a happy, cheerful perfume and have finished off another small decant. Diptyque L’eau des Hesperides is an interesting sweet yet bitter citrus with mint and other herbs. It’s fun to wear lots of sprays of a bright citrus on a cold day.
I didn’t check back in to the lazy weekend poll but caught up this morning and see I missed a lot of good discussion on introversion. I’m definitely an introvert with some extroverted tendencies, and I’ve read and enjoyed Susan Cain’s Quiet. I will try to remember to say more on the topic tomorrow when I have more time to write a comment, as I’m at work right now. I have to tell you guys about a rude, weird run in my boyfriend had with one of my aunt’s friends at the dinner on Saturday.
I remember really like the minty zing in Hesperides, but it didn’t last long enough on me to be worth the investment of a FB. So pretty and refreshing while it lasts, though!
It’s actually lasting a decently long time on me, though it definitely doesn’t project as much after the first couple hours. It’s perfectly nice, but I don’t need any more.
Happy New Year to all. I am wearing Cognoscenti Tomato Leaf and Tobacco? Is that really what it’s called. I got their sample set and there are some great great things here, Includijf this one. An unexpected but really successful combination of the fresh and the leathery.
I’m glad to hear that perfume is good – I’ve wondered about it. Happy New Year!
Thank you! It really is nice. The carrot one is too.
This year zipped by quickly, didn’t it? I’ve let sampling fall away, I stopped buying them because my success rate was so low. I concentrated in the latter part of the year on enjoying what I have. Today’s scent is vintage Bellodgia. My top ten most worn in 2018 were:
Aedes de Venustas (6)
Chypre Mousse (6)
Bois des Iles parfum (4)
En Passant (4)
I logged 136 different perfumes last year, and probably wore another 20-30 that I tested but didn’t log or that weren’t in Basenotes’ database. I tend to wear one perfume per day, so that impacts the stats as well.
Best wishes to all for a happy and healthy new year. I am so glad 2018 is over.
Great list! I love four of the scents on your top 10 list. I have a BdI parfum but don’t wear it nearly enough. It feels soooo indulgent and decadent. I need to indulge in it more!
I’m with you on Slowdive, that was my most worn this year as well. Salome was up there too, along with Dulcis in Fundo. 2018 was not a good year for me, very glad it’s over.
I like a lot of the perfumes on your list, and I used my sample of Slowdive in no time!
Belladogia is beautiful!
Stood in front of the cabinet blankly looking at bottles and samples. Dug around and a sample of L’Ambre des Merveilles popped out at me. I remember wearing it once on vacation and a woman in a store followed me around before asking what I was wearing.
Wishing everyone joy in 2019, no matter what challenges come your way.
We stay in. My husband is very, very good at cooking steak, so I think that’s what we will do.
Happy New Year to you!
Sounds like a nice and tasty evening. My husband is good at steak, too! Too bad he’s working til late today… Happy New Year!
You smell fabulous. I hope your dinner is delicious, and that the next year is full of peace and happiness.
Happy New Year, LizzieB! Enjoy that delicious steak! ?
Update: the steak was fabulous. Thick rib eye. Roasted Brussels Sprouts, baked potato. We ate late. I fell asleep for a half hour on the couch before dinner while my husband’s football team was making a big comeback to win its bowl game. A good night. Thankful I have never felt even the tiniest desire to go to Times Square.
Happy New Year!
We spent a very pleasant evening with friends who regularly host a New Year’s Eve party. It’s a few years since any of us really partied, now it’s sitting talking and eating, and we were home in bed just before midnight.
Now that it’s 2019, I am allowing myself to get properly excited about my upcoming trip to Europe – Paris and Seville in March. That’s not far away now and I have a list of perfumes to buy! The first on the list is Thierry Mugler’s Chyprissime, which I kicked myself for not buying when I sniffed it two years ago.
Meanwhile, we are still working our way through home renovations, and my task for today is to continue cutting the old lounge carpet away from the skirting boards to make it easier for the painter. It’s very old carpet and it’s been stapled every inch. Yesterday’s effort included a small crowbar. A generous spray of 31 Rue Cambon might make it easier today
Happy New Year!
And to you
Happy new year! Your trip sounds fantastic. So does a freshly painted lounge.
Oh, I absolutely loved Seville. (Paris is nice too, of course!) But I’m such a huge fan of Spanish Baroque art, and the museums and offerings there are so amazing. It was broiling hot when I went there (July) and I imagine you’ll have a better time walking all around in March when it’s not 100 degrees! Maybe you’ll even be there when all the orange trees blossom? I am not sure when that is. It’s got such elegance and history, and lovely cafes and streets to stroll–and the ART! But I said that already.
Best time for orange blossoms–late February and early March!
That sounds fabulous! I hadn’t thought of that.
And two hours later, I’ve made some progress on the carpet – it’s been stapled every quarter inch in places, I think I’ve strained every muscle in my body! I’m sure the 31 RC helped.
That sounds like a dreadful way to spend the day. Thank goodness you smell great and have an amazing vacation to anticipate.
Best of luck with the home improvement/renovation projects! ??
Slept through my alarm this morning so I threw on what I happened to have in my purse, a Balenciaga Rosabotanica mini I picked up because the design is cute but I couldn’t justify a whole bottle based on just that.
I like it, don’t love it. Get a lot more fig leaf/grapefruit than I do rose, which is fine because I love fig, but I also love rose so that’s slightly disappointing. It found its way into my purse because I have a figgy lotion at my desk at work (fig, nutmeg, allspice) and they layer well together.
I did that with Miu Miu too – had to have that cute bottle, so got a mini. It scratched the itch.
can’t blame you, that one is super cute!
The next time I wear Rosabotantica, i need to pay attention to the notes and see what I get.
do report back!
Happy New Year. Wearing Chanel 19 on this first day of 2019, a day for lazing in the sun.
Most worn perfume of 2018 and most favourite is Fiele Viola. I love this perfume…it’s like opening a squeaking, sticking door on a large antique cupboard in a warm attic to reveal a rich dusty, dry, bitter interior with a perfect fig on a piece of paper inside . We’re talking Dutch still life, Vermeer. No sweetness. Notes are viola ( violet leaves) geranium and other stuff….but it has that old wood, old paper thing too.
I had the Fiele sampler pack (thanks to Oakland Fresca who got the enabler pin for making me purchase it) and rather enjoyed all of them. But then the prices suddenly shot through the roof in a massive price hike ( I think it was in the vicinity of 30 USD per bottle increase) before I got to buy a bottle of anything so I just gave up….Viola is beautiful though. Glad you are enjoying it.
I discovered this brand in a local designer clothes shop so I actually got to sniff them . I liked Boswellia too. Viola has grown on me more and more but that could be because I bought it in winter and it is one of those scents that needs summer heat to bring out all the notes. It’s $200 here which is pretty average for most 50ml perfumes here.
Yes I tend to Dave Viola for summer. It seems to get a little buried in the winter.
Ugh. Save. I don’t know who Dave is.
That sounds amazing!
Perfect choice! Happy new year!
No. 19 is an absolutely perfect pick for the day!
I love your idea of wearing No. 19 for 2019! I think I’ll borrow inspiration from you and wear it to bed to wind down New Year’s Day.
Running Commando today. My cold is not in any hurry to clear up, and I am a drippy mess. Since I can’t smell or taste a darn thing, I didn’t waste any perfume, and had healthy, tasteless things for lunch.
Wishing you all a fun, and safe NYE. Drive carefully – your perfume will miss you if you don’t come home
Poor you. Hope you feel better soon.
Get well soon! Stay warm and get lots of rest.
Bleck! Hope you are at least starting to feel a little better…
Love those swans in the picture! I sampled Pekj Ruh about a week ago and decided I needed a little more of it. That arrived today, so of course I put some on. It might be my scent of the evening, too, as it has a lot of notes I like (saffron, coffee, cardamom, rose & Jasmine).
Oooh, that sounds wonderful.
Happy New Year everyone! I’ve caught the cold that’s going around, haven’t worn much scent to avoid sneezing myself silly. Homemade chicken soup is helping a bit and SmokeyToes is keeping me company while I take work-related online training (Smokey and I have decided it’s mind-numbing and possibly a cure for insomnia).
Today my order of Tauer’s Wowilla and Amber Flash body oils arrived, my postman was commenting how nice my package smelled. Also included was LDDM spritzed on a card. It is such a beauty and one of the perfumes I will purchase this year. This (along with Fendi and Magie Noire) are my stranded on a desert island scents. It also reminds me of Tama, and her love of Andy’s work.
Everyone have a joyous and Safe New Year’s!
Hope you feel better soon! I hear wowilla is great layered under LADDM, will probably wear that tomorrow.
Thanks!! I will have to give that layering combo a try.
A combination I adore is Un Rose Chypree layered over Aromatics Elixir body lotion. I’m on the tail end of URC but that one can wait for now.
Feel better soon! Smokey Toes sounds like a great nurse.
Yuck and double yuck on the cold! Get well ASAP! ??
Home on a dark, rainy day, cuddled up with the puppy. Got a package from Chocolatemarzipan so I put on a smidge of Casablanca. Heavenly stuff. Later I was going to put on Jubilation 25 but now I’m waffling and may join Missionista in Byzance, my oldest perfume love that I still own.
Give that cute puppy a *squish* for me! I love how their ears feel like velvet…
Her ears are so big and fluffy! If you want to see a picture, go to Undina’s blog under Rusty’s 10th birthday celebration.
Oh, is your puppy a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel? SQUEEEE!
Super adorable. Give cutie pie a *squish* for me.
Or is your puppy the Papillon?
She’s the Papillon, Mila.
Have a great puppy day. Mine has suddenly gotten into a “bark at everything in the entire world, including raindrops” phase, so it’s quite loud around here.
Mine is in a destructive phase – the baseboards are evil and must be destroyed.
Keep it at a smidge! I put on a bit more and for a huge headache! Happy times with the puppy.
Puppy love ??? Give Mila a kiss from me! And you smell amazing!
Enjoy both puppy and perfumes tonight! ??
Cazaubon – She’s so beautiful! Enjoy your new furry baby.
I love the swans in the picture! Such graceful creatures.
This morning I tried the Areej le Dore sample of Malik Al Taif–the rose scent. It was pleasant enough but did not shake my world, so after my shower, I put on (a lot of) T-Rex. Later this afternoon my best friend is coming over who is a docent at the science museum, along with her date, the museum’s paleology curator, so I’ll see if they “recognize” it, ha ha! (They have a pretty impressive collection of dinosaur skeletons and bones in the Houston Museum of Natural Science.)
You might have to bury yourself under a layer of dirt!
Also re. Your orange pomander . I layered JM orange butters over Snowdrop and White Moss and that became a nice orange spice with a bit of heft
Thank you for the tip!
I hope he walks in and immediately asks “Is there a T-Rex in the kitchen?”
Not quite but he was clearly taken with it and took down all the information and said “We should sell this in the museum!” Who knows?!
That was a typo and should have said “paleontology.”
Wearing a sample of Tiger’s Nest. Hate the price, like the bottle, love the juice. Sigh.
In the new year I will finish my current bottles of Seville a l’Aube and Mohur Extrait and finish decants of Amber Oud by Killian, Iris Silver Mist, Hanbury, Lys Soleia, and Wit, all of which I would like to replace or upgrade to full bottles. But, we’ll see what happens there.
I have also finished samples of POAL and Rose de Petra, and I believe I need some more of each of those. Also Jovoy’s La Liturgie des Heures, which I like better than Avignon, for some reason.
I am sort of content with my current collection of scents. This is a pleasant and unfamiliar feeling.
Happy last day of 2018, everyone, and looking forward to the New Year!
I liked La Liturgie better than Avignon, too. Avignon was too heavy, Heeley Cardinal was too light, La Liturgie was just perfect!
Ah, I was wondering about Cardinal! Thanks for the impression! Sorta tells me what I wanted to know!
I just bought a travel size of Tiger’s Nest as a gift for a friend. Glad to read that you like it.
I love Tiger’s nest, my bottle should be here Wednesday, yay! Got it for a lower price by buying from First in Fragrance (no VAT) during their 15% off Advent sale. The $275 USD price is mega steep.
Oh I need to try this! I like the Memos I’ve tried this far.
Oh and a run down on most worn perfumes! I just started using the basenotes app a few months ago I think, but I’ve worn 174 perfumes. (This is leaving out summer scents! I often wear two, sometimes three perfumes in a day.)
Most worn this fall:
MdO Suede de Suede – 8
Cire Trudon – Bruma – 7
MdO Santal Nabataea – 7
Dilittante – 6
Dryad – 6
I Miss Violet – 6
Comme de Garconne Honolulu – 6
Misia – 5
Slowdive – 5
Nice list! I like a number of those, myself. What’s the CdG Honolulu, though?! Never heard if it and can’t find it in a search anywhere ?
I’m going out on a limb and guessing that’s an autocorrect for Holygraphie or Holygrace?
Yes I didn’t reread! Spell check for Hinoki!
Omg spell check! It’s Hinoki!!!
I dunno, I think that CdG Honolulu would be a GREAT idea!
I started the day in Santal Massoia, then switched to Bois Farine after yoga. I love the way I smell.
My hope for 2019 is that everyone has a joyous, peaceful and healthy year. Thank you for the wonderful community you all have created at NST – it is a light shining in a sometimes foggy world.
Hear, hear! NST is a great balm to counter the crazy we all encounter sometimes.
This is a special place, for sure. Happy New Year!
Wearing Miel de Bois and ringing in the New Year with a glass of sparkling wine. It’s midnight here, so Happy New Year to everyone – whether it’s already 2019 for you or it soon will be.
My stats for 2018 are below. The numbers in the brackets indicate the number of wears.
When it comes to the perfume houses, my big three are:
1. Guerlain (62)
2. Serge Lutens (52)
3. Chanel (49)
4. (Annick) Goutal (32)
5. Hermes (30)
6. Lush (29)
7. L’Artisan Parfumeur (25)
8. Acqua di Parma (20)
No surprises here.
My most-worn perfumes:
1-4. SL Ambre Sultan (8)
1-4. Le Couvent des Minimes Cologne of the Missions (8)
1-4. Goutal Mandragore Pourpre (8)
1-4. FM En Passant (8)
5-10. SL Chergui (7)
5-10. Chanel Cristalle EDT (7)
5-10. Lush Death&Decay (7)
5-10. Goutal Eau du Sud (7)
5-10. Tesori d’Oriente Sandalo del Kashmir & Vetiver (7)
5-10. Guerlain Shalimar Initial L’Eau (7)
Cristalle stays strong – it is the only repeat from 2017, when it finished with the same stats (number 5, 7 wears). I am suprised my all-time favorite, Un Jardin Sur Le Nil, did not make it to top ten in 2018, but any scent deserves some rest, I guess. And I am glad to see Ambre Sultan and Chergui here.
I love all these lists everyone has posted! You have been smelling great all year long!
Thank you very much, madtowngirl!
Doing a sniff-off this afternoon of L’Attesa vs L’Heure Exquise, and both are pretty nice, with the former being a bit drier and the latter being a bit sweeter, but both getting along with each other. Wishing everyone a terrific (or at least not-horrible) 2019…
I would settle for “not horrible” any day?happy new year!
Happy New Year’s Eve NST! And to the folks already in 2019, I hope it is going well for you all thus far. I’m ending 2018 on a grey and rainy note. I will not miss 2018 very much.
SOTD = Tauer Le Maroc pour Elle, from my sample stash. Some people mentioned this one in the Lazy Weekend poll. And since it fits into my category of “comfort scent”, it was an easy pick.
Best wishes to you all for 2019! I hope that it is a healthy, happy and prosperous one. ??✨?
Wishing the same back to you, Jalapeno.
Thank you lillyjo! I’m hoping that 2019 is a better year. So many people had a rough 2018.
Happy New Year Jalapeno! The best for you always!
Thanks perfunelover67! Happy New Year to you!
Happy New year!!!
Back atcha CM8! Will the mini Marzipans be celebrating there, or have they gone off to do their own things this year?
The two stayed home and the eldest went begrudgingly into the city with her BF (she did NOT want to do this). They went for dinner only but all the avenues and streets were closed off so they had a really hard time getting back to Grand Central to catch their train. She was soaking wet and freezing and texting me how mad she was that she did not put her foot down and insist that they “stay in”.
Happy new year, you smell lovely!
Thank you cazaubon! Happy New Year to you!
Wishing you all the best Jalapeno; Le Maroc pour Elle is an early Tauer favourite!
Thank you austenfan! Le Maroc pour Elle is one of my favorite autumn scents… something about fall weather really brings out the best in it.
Happy New Year, Fragrant Friends! We are 51 minutes into 2019 and I’m finishing my glass of Prosecco. My guests have gone home and my eldest is visiting his cousins for a week. The house is empty. May 2019 be kind to you all. (I may join Glannys in Miel de Bois just now. Just because…)
Loved reading this the next morning…wearing Miel de Bois to welcome the new year in an empty house seems perfect to me!
Happy New Year’s Eve, NST!!!
After a lot of indecision and a bit of apathy this morning, I landed on the perfect SOTD: L’Heure Bleue.
I’m looking forward to a cozy night in with family, ringing in the New Year with a cheese fondue dinner and midnight bubbly. Thank goodness the bottle glögg mix is gone. The first half was used to make a wine-based batch on Boxing Day. The second half was used, per the alternative suggestion on the label, to make a vodka-based batch last night. Someone—I’m not naming any names—may have had someone else’s unwanted leftovers on top of her own generous serving, while watching ‘Temple of Doom’.?
Enjoy yourselves, my fabulous-smelling friends, and be safe out there!
Your NYE plans sound great, Creosote! Have a happy new year!
Best wishes for a wonderful 2019. Evening in, watching the final season of “Suits”. Wore Lys earlier, now smelling samples and a spritz of Serendipitous. Vanilla with chocolate.
Happy New Year flopper!
Thank you Jalapeno, you as well!
Happy New Year to everyone! Just relaxing at home tonight in some vintage Vol de Nuit edt after a long day at work.
We will probably watch one of the Harry Potter movies tonight, but if I’m in bed 10pm it will be a win!
I started the year by keeping track of my SOTD on a spreadsheet, but by about June or July I had stopped. I found that I’d forget to log it for a few days so would go back through the prior days NST comments to try and find my SOTE (if I logged it there at all). Now I just enjoy what I put on without having to think about it or write it down. I think my most worn house of when I kept track will be Guerlain.
I just want to thank everyone here who makes NST such a haven for me at the end of each workday where I can relax and wind down.
Happy New Year Gail!
Thank you Jalapeno! Happy New Year to you!
Happy New Year NST!
I´m going to start the year in Paris YSL. It never fails to lift my spirits.
Paris is so beautiful.
Looks like we were both in a “rosy” perfume mood today! ???
