The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 13 December 2018 17 Comments

KFC is at it again. "Imbued with the unmistakable, mouth-watering aroma of Colonel Sanders’ secret recipe, the KFC 11 Herbs & Spices Firelog finally puts to rest the age-old dilemma, “How can I make this fire a hundred bajillion times better?” This one-of-a-kind firelog from Enviro-Log, a leading manufacturer of firelogs made of 100 percent recycled materials, is the result of countless hours of research and development, all done over the last couple of months since we had this idea. Pick up a firelog today, and you’ll be wondering how you were ever able to enjoy a fire that didn’t smell like fried chicken." $18.99 each at KFC.

If you have a fireplace, you can 😉

I would too! Just have to try it once…..

It goes without saying I’d pick up a bucket of chicken for supper…

Ha! Yes. Well, it was the “… wondering how you were ever able to enjoy a fire that didn’t smell like fried chicken” specifically that I found flummoxing.

Heh. I did get that … eventually. (Still not hankering for a fried chicken fireside extravaganza, though. Sorry, KFC nose guy.)

I love KFC for doing this and making me laugh out loud. Just reading this makes me want KFC. But let’s be clear here. No way do I want my house to smell that way.

Only two companies could do this – KFC and McDonalds. The smell of their food items is so distinctive. We once brought KFC home on the bus and everyone around was jealous.

I do think KFC has built up a top notch PR department, or hired one.

I got on a streetcar one day after work. The driver was waiting to depart on his route when he made an announcement over the speaker… “Would the person who boarded the streetcar with Popeye’s chicken kindly get enough for everyone next time? We all cracked up laughing… It was great!

Just the thought of this is making me nauseous. Don’t get me wrong — I eat my share of KFC and mix the original, the extra crispy and grilled. The prices are quite reasonable too for different meal configuration!
