Tom Ford has launched Beau de Jour, a new masculine fragrance in the Private Blend range.
Classic. Sharp. Maverick. Beau de Jour fragrance presents the perfectly groomed gentleman who considers every detail. He exhibits the best version of himself to the world, but beneath the surface is something deeper, refreshing and sublime in all its layers.
A fresh, commanding entrance of Lavender from Provence introduces the clean and fervent facets of the Beau de Jour scent. The cool and refreshing open is further amplified with an infusion of energetic hybrid of lavender and lavenders. The core beats with the herbal inflection of African Rosemary and floral green Geranium with its subtle mint inflection, a powerful contrast to the leather-like warmth of Oakmoss and the electric green of Basil. Patchouli and Amber create an earthy foundation of radiant wood and sensual musky warmth, further elevating Beau de Jour’s refreshing notion of masculinity through the finish.
Tom Ford Beau de Jour can be pre-ordered now at Saks Fifth Avenue, $605 for 250 ml Eau de Parfum.

No interest. But $605!! (And that extra $5 over 600? Just seems weird.)
That’s about the going rate for the big decanter size — that’s an 8.5 oz bottle. Did not check them all but Fougère D’Argent was the exact same price. And yes, the $5 seems silly.
That seems to be the going rate for the standard private blends now. If you like the fragrance it makes it worth buying a decanter as you get 250ml for almost the same price as they would charge for two of the smallest 50ml bottle sizes and they throw in an atomiser with the decanters. The atomisers sell on eBay for around £60 so flogging the free atomiser is like a free £60 off the £385 price which makes it even more of a deal over the 50ml bottles. Maybe that’s part of the reason they cancelled the ‘lost cherry’ decanter after announcing it originally – to keep it pricey.
Hmm. “Belle de jour” means “morning glory,” but there’s also the Buñuel film of that name (with its own fragrance connection) about a well-heeled Parisienne who becomes a daytime call girl. Can’t help thinking that Ford is using the masculine form but invoking such a connection deliberately. I mean, if he named a scent Épater les F***ing Boojiees would anyone even turn a hair at this point?
Apparently it’s is discontinued now and they are running down stocks fast – must be the shortest lived private Blend ever after only a couple of months – not sure what went on there !!
Im told the verts are gone now too (vert de bois, vert boheme, vert de fleur , vert d’encens) – seems like Tom Ford are having another one of their clear-outs ready for new stuff
