National Cookie Day and International Cheetah Day! Plus, happy birthday to Jeff Bridges. What fragrance are you wearing?
After a couple morning errands, I'm planning a test run of Dawn Spencer Hurwitz Urban Moonshine.
Reminder: on 12/7, pick your poison BWF...wear a perfume with tuberose, gardenia or both.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2018, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

BWF you say? Good excuse to get closer to thunking my sample of Matin d’Orage.
Love Matin d’Orage!
Matin d’Orage is very lovely, the one I own and like best is the EDT which has no tuberose.
I’ve never even tried the EDP of this. I think I may have to, as I love tuberose.
Sotd = CdG Avignon
goodness, I love this stuff! I adore cheetahs, will bake some snickerdoodles later today in honor of cookie day, and am so glad to be back to wearing fragrance and reading here! Life got in the way for a few days, I’ve missed you all.
Missed you too! Glad you are back ?
thanks, lillyjo! It’s been a rough go the past few days, not too big of a deal, nothing to write home about, life gets crazy sometimes, so it is SO good to be back among fragrance friends!
I missed your sunny, positive posts, tiffanie! Welcome back! ?
missed you too, Nancyleandros! Sun is shining again in my backyard. š
You smell wonderful, Avignon was my gateway incense perfume.
Avignon is wonderful, I can see how it would open doors in the mind, heart and nose. The opening fizzes and sparkles and it just gets better all! day! long!
I hope for you today is a marvelous day, dear cazaubon!
Missed you, too! Hope your upcoming days are less hectic.
Glad things seem to be settling down. Hope it remains manageable over the holidays?
Welcome back to not-real-life, Tiffanie, and you smell great!
????
Happy to hear that you are back to being scented, and posting here! ?
It’s wonderful to see you, and you smell great.
Good to see you back here. I definitely need to try the incense series from CdG one day – they get so much play here!
Yesterday I inspired flopper to wear Carnal Flower, and today flopper inspired me back. FM website puts it in ‘Opulent White Flower’ category, and I wholeheartedly agree. It’s does not have a creamy feel BWFs usually have but instead has this strange menthol-like greenness – a unique feature. Lots of reviews say that for a white floral Carnal Flower is not very big, but it feels big on my skin. Although I admit it’s not a sillage monster – it’s more like a floral cocoon around me.
You smell lovely! Itās like a cool, refreshing blast of cold air. Iāll have to wear it this week, too. I donāt really find it big, myself, but I mostly dab it so that might be why.
Floral cocoon is a perfect description. You smell divine!
ooooh, Carnal Flower in the cold weather is gorgeous. you smell great! I must find my sample, I know it’s around her somewhere . . . š
Beauty!
I enjoyed my sample while it lasted
Wearing vintage Jolie Madam as that is what I woke up craving. Hopefully diving int BWF territory later in the week when I can spritz with less care for social obligations
I’m wearing Lush Lust. Big white jasmine.
Big is the operative word, lol. But I like it! My comfort zone with that scent is the Godiva shampoo bar. It’s divine.
Godiva shampoo bar?!?!?!?! DOES IT MAKE YOUR HAIR SMELL LIKE CHOCOLATE
I have got to look into this. On the other hand, do I want to walk around having to work hard at not eating my hair?
Oh. Godiva as in Lady. A jasmine scent. I really need to calm down.
Haha! That was cute ? Yes, jasmine. Not sure I’d want my hair smelling chocolatey either. They do make that delicious chocolatey massage bar called “soft coeur” which will make you want to eat your own skin!
HUGE.
I wish I had given this more of a chance (sprayed it once) when I bought Lush Lust about 3 years ago. Maybe Iāll brave the lush store and try it again.
I totally forgot that I have a solid of Lust in my closet! Oooops! ?
SOTD Puredistance Opardu which lists both tuberose and gardenia amongst lilac and other forals. I think of this one as a winter white floral. Took me a few tries to appreciate it, but now I think itās beautiful. ?
It Is beautiful and you smell gorgeous!
Thank you! Your fault ?
I”ll probably save it for Friday. I do love it so!
Wearing Bond no. 9 Chinatown today. My first niche perfume, and still one of my favorite perfumes. I used up my first bottle spraying my sheets with it. Absolutely love the top notes, though it’s more pink blossoms than big white floral. Have a great day everyone.
Thatās the one Bond scent I love. You smell wonderful.
Me too. None of the rest have captured me.
Zoologist Nightingale – gosh, why is everything they do so good?
Have you tried Civet ? – shockingly good
I’ve tried all of them! Civet is great, Rhinoceros is great, Moth is great, Elephant is great, Bat is great, Camel is great, T Rex is great… and even the ones that I don’t personally want to wear I can see are well done.
My lemming for this brand is getting louder every day.
Totally worth getting a sample pack – though apply with care, some of them punch you and all those around you straight in the nose
I wish this brand worked for me! Glad you are enjoying it
So true, it’s a line that really works for me too and the travel bottles are the perfect size. Not all of them suit me of course but I enjoy smelling them all. Nightingale is lovely.
Good morning Y’all…..I try to make everyday National Cookie Day, because I believe in cookies with my whole heart! “I don’t always eat cookies, but when I do, I eat ALL the cookies….” – Cookie Monster
https://www.instagram.com/p/Bq-GZ4ThWJN/
Wearing Angel EdT, and love love love it! Just 2 little spritzes just seem to be bothering the Perfume Grinch…..I have finally found the Angel that works for me!
Mmmmm, Angel š
I want to eat all the cookies too! š Growing up my mother rarely bought treats from the store, so I made cookies from scratch when I wanted them. Mom’s strategy made me learn to bake and taught me to try to slow down and savor my hard work.
I love your instagram feed!
Do you mind if I follow you?
Please do! I’d love to follow you back if you like! š
Happy Birthday Jeff Bridges!
I loved him in the movie crazy heart and I have the entire soundtrack downloaded on my phone.
This morning myself and Chubby Buddha went on an adventure to the grocery store, which 1 block away. It took as 20 min. We saw the garbage man, so we had to watch him..then they were doing tree work..and we watched them. Finally we both got so cold we went back home. He is eating string cheese and having raspberry tea with linden blossom. I am having goat cheese from Murrays and drinking MF Pleine Lune tea. I am in my Bermuda perfume which is a white floral but I am not sure tuberose or gardenia are in this one.
Have a fragrant day ahead
Itās so fun to see the world through the eyes of a child. ?
I have that MF tea also, thanks for the reminder to open it up and enjoy it!
Well, tea twins! Cheers!
Your story reminds me of walks with my puppy. Babies are fascinated with the world and need to stare and take every detail in. :-).
I love watching people walking with kids…standing, waiting, looking at things. So sweet. Chubby Buddhaās Tea sounds yummy.
So sweet and good to have someone to remind us to slow down. He truly is a little Buddha!
Your little guy sounds so adorable!
A one minute video for Chubby Buddha
https://twitter.com/Nukapai/status/1069744526259044352
Adorable.
And I agree, that should be the ad for Joy!
Omg, I love that! Look at everyone stopping to watch ?
What a wonderful, adorable morning.
Murray’s cheese shop is the best !!
So adorable!
That sounds like a wonderful way to spend the morning. I hope the rest of your day was as nice.
Yesterday, I blind bought a bottle at Marshallās of Shiseido Zen, the third formula, circa 2007. Gold cube bottle.
Wearing it this morning, and finding it to be a big mistake. It does have gardenia in it, so Iām participating in the CP at least.
I have a small spritz of Arpege up near my shoulder, which is lovely. Itās outpacing the Zen, which is fine by me!
I remember sampling the Zen perfume, it didn’t leave an impression on me
I got some at an estate sale recently and found it sort of muddled – like, it was pleasant enough but no coherent idea emerged
Kinda what I thought. Some fruity pineapple and citrus at the start, but devolved into mall frag rather quickly.
Pretty sure they will take it back!
I took it back today. ?
Oop, I was going to say “nice find!” but I guess not :-/
Found a LāHeure Bleu decant from STC I bought last year, so Iām gonna use that up today.
You smell wonderful.
Anticipatory congrats on your incipient thunk! ?
enjoy the thunk!
Thank you all! ??
I loaded up on cookies at the Cuban bakery Sunday, so instead Iāll join the bakers in making bread today. Cravind cedar today, so Iām wearing FeminitĆ© du Bois.
You smell great! What kind of bread is on your baking agenda? I picked up a loaf of pretzel bread over the weekend and it’s already more than halfway gone š
Iām making brioche. Never had pretzel bread but it sounds good!
Oh, brioche, congratulations because it’s not the easiest thing to bake.
I’ve had both. I’ve made brioche and had pretzel bread on a cruise. Both are delicious!
You smell amazing. Happy brioching! It’s hard to find good brioche near me that doesn’t cost an arm, a leg, and three teeth (someone said that on NST recently and I loved it!…it wasn’t you, was it, cazaubon?). Anyway, hope it turns out well!
Probably Deva, sounds like something sheād come up with. š
I think Deva used the phrase when you were discussing Tiger’s Nest. It really struck me as a great expression.
Hi cazaubon..I saw your reply about Prince Albert’s Mills Brothers store. Thank you for getting back to me!
My very good friend lived in PA for a few years long ago; she thinks her brother worked there at the store when he was about 14. She said possibly about 40 years ago.
Yes, that sounds right. We used to go there in the late 60ās and early 70ās.
What a beautiful picture!
My BWFs are all put away for the winter (for some reason I only want to wear them in the summer) so I canāt participate this week. Instead Iām wearing a dark rose- SSS Rose Volupte. I have about a third of my travel spray left and will be so sad when itās gone.
That scent has a special name in my heart — I suggested the name for it!
What a good name.
Did you really?? That’s so cool! How did that come about?!
I am glad you like it, especially since it is Tuesday so it should be a teapot! My brain is made of the same porous limestone that is failing to hold up Miami!
š
Oo oo I bet you smell amazing. Never got to try that one.
Wearing a few sprays of vintage My Sin..oooh la la. It’s a big floral but not sure if it qualifies for this weeks CP.
The boys went golfing again so the girls (well, my niece and I) are treating ourselves to a massage at the spa today. I’m having a Swedish Massage, facial and pedicure. I have never had a pedicure so am looking forward to it. My hubby tells me I have ‘Barney Rubble’ feet so I’m hoping they will be transformed today..lol
Have a wonderful day! Smelling good!
I should introduce you to my friend. She claims to have Fred Flinstone feet….
Enjoy! I’m getting vicarious pleasure here, sigh. I never get manicures, but I do love pedicures, though I only get them in the summer. Must remedy that.
enjoy your spa day!
Spa days are the best days! Enjoy!
Wearing Satin Doll, a restrained white floral. Love it, one of the few tuberoses you could wear without offending anyone.
No BWF for me today, wearing the very yummy Rose Infernale on this gloomy Tuesday.
Thatās a nice one! Very subtle and beautiful.
Such a great pick, the rose in it is so natural smelling.
Found my travel spray of Nuit de Tuberose and sprayed with abandon. Frantically trying to finish a scarf – or get as much done as possible – to turn in to my knitting group tonight for donation.
Why are cats so dang finicky with food? Drives me nuts.
It is their way to remind us that although we are bigger and have opposable thumbs they are still bosses. š
It is hard to knit with a deadline. But a fun challenge too..
Alyssa Ashley Musk today – it’s becoming one of my go-to perfumes for work. So, not participating in the CP. But, if I have time tonight, I’ll participate in National Cookie Day by trying my hand at a batch of buttered popcorn cookies. I’m not a very experienced baker, so wish me luck!
Can’t wait to go home and start digging into a batch of orange blossom scents that arrived in the mail from a fellow NSTer yesterday. Big thanks!!
If you get a chance, you should try the matching body lotion for AA musk.
I might just add that onto my next fragrancenet order. Thanks for the tip!
You smell wonderful! I love Alyssa Ashley Musk, have the body lotion and shower gel, one of my favorites!
I have a difficult time wearing BWF, especially tuberose. I will save my Dior Poison for Friday and concentrate on thunking some samples this week before they evaporate.
Wrapped in a cloud of Hermes Paprika Brasil which I adore and will not thunk anytime soon. I am hoarding the samples a very generous NSTer sent me, until some day a full bottle is mine….
Me too re tuberose. It has to be among many notes, especially plum, for me to tolerate it.
The same here. I cannot tolerate tuberose as the center note. Mixed with other notes is always beautiful and easier to wear.
Hurray for more THUNKING!
?
Hermes Eau des Merveilles on one side, Pur Desir de Gardenia by Yves Rocher on the other (so I can participate in the CP). I believe the only intersection in the Venn diagram here is that I own them.
The single spray of gardenia is definitely the attention seeker. Merveilles is slowly worming it’s way into my heart.
If Merveilles had more lasting power on me, it is sooo nice
Ooh, I bet that’s an amazing combo.
Good morning š
I do not own a lot of BWF’s. Today I am wearing Diverti from Hove Parfumeur. Hove is located in the New Orleans French Quarter, and I bought a bottle of this and Rue Royale as early an early Christmas present for myself.
I visited the store earlier this year, and Diverti was one of 6 mini-bottles that came back with me in the set I bought, so I liked it enough to choose but from time to time (not consistently) itās a little too masculine on my skin. Still very pleasant. You smell good!
Thanks š !
The owner told me that she used to put Diverti with the fragrance section for men, but women would smell it and like it. So she classifies it now as a unisex scent.
SOTD: L’Air du Desert Marocain
I can see why this is considered a masterpiece.
What beautiful creatures Cheetahs are.
I agree with you on both statements.
You smell great!
+1!
SOTD is Caron’s Fleur de Rocaille mixed with a touch of Annick Goutal’s Musc Nomade.
I LOVE cheetahs! Occasionally, I visit Safari West to see their lovely animals, the Cheetah enclosure is always well-attended. š
I donāt know the Caron, but love the AG. You smelled great today!
Thanks!
Iām commando right now, but giving serious thought on what Iād like to wear today. Itās cool and bit overcast here, may get some rain later. Iām thinking one of the CdG incense scents I have…
For anyone who loves kittens, cats, and good people, hereās a feel good snippet to start your day. It makes me so happy I could cry when I see stuff like this:
https://youtu.be/qcJb0GhM0SM
Dang it Deva! My mascara is NOT waterproof!??
I know, right?! ?
Awww. What a cutie and his rescuer is lovely too!
Petunia, Iām trying to stay focused on positive stuff so I donāt wander over to the dark side! ?? Aren’t they both adorable? Nothing better than a bright-eyed, healthy, playful kitten, puppy, or kiddo!
Oh my goodness. What a little cutie! And thank you to the lovely rescuer!
Both so cute! A perfect match ??
???! All the feels! So darn cute!
Warm fuzzy feels for sure ?
Oh, there must be dust in my eye. That’s it, right?
So cute. The kitten with the tennis ball!!!
Definitely dust ?
Doesn’t feel right to wear a BWF to work, so I’m in Black Pepper instead. Will participate on Friday, when I have a day off. Looking forward to this weekend, when I’m flying to Jamaica.
Fun fun fun, enjoy your trip!
How fun! I took a cruise last year that made a brief stop in Jamaica. It seemed pretty neat. I would have liked to stay longer. Enjoy!
Flying to Jamaica sounds absolutely wonderful this time of year. Enjoy your trip! ā
Oh, what fun. Have a good time!
Heading off to Book Club in a dab of Carnal Flower. We read A Single Breath and I really liked it. Read it in two sittings.
That looks like a page-turner! Have fun at book club.
I like Black Pepper and must wear that one soon. Today, however, I went with Fleur Nocturne (Isabey) for some gardenia. I can smell the other notes in this one, but the gardenia does stand out on me.
I have lost touch with Isabey, but their regular Gardenia was lovely some years ago.
Sand &Sable for my big white floral today
That is big š
Loved that one! You are a goddess indeed!
Fracas is wearing me. I thought I could handle it, but she’s got the better of me.
Yeah, Fracas is big and takes up space; you have to be really careful with her.
Oops. Fracas can do that, yes.
Good to have advance warning about that one!
Dab it if you can. ?
The sun is shining today?it feels so good! Sotd is SL Cedre. I get tuberose and honey in this. Cedre is definitely one of my favorite perfume finds.
Totally misnamed. I was surprised to find a large tuberose in a scent named Cedar. Need to locate my bottle and wear it again.
I was totally surprised too! It really should have a different name.
That sounds like such a great scent! I will have to check it out.
Do you detect any cedar in it?
If I’m honest, I have to say that I don’t. I keep looking for it though.
Me too! Who knew?!?
Cedre was EXACTLY that on me… all wood, all the time! I smelled like a hamster cage.
Skin chemistry is so weird!
Weird and fun, IMO!
Cookies and perfume, two of my favorite things! I will bake some oatmeal cookies this afternoon, I have dough that I froze a couple of weeks ago. I also have a cold, just 10 days away from the Christmas concert I sing in, so I’m drinking liquids and hoping it passes quickly. There are loads of BWFs in my collection, so I am spoiled for choice. This morning I decided on Carolina Herrera, a big ol’ jasmine/tuberose/civet concoction that I can smell through the congestion in my nose. I probably should stay home today lest I gas people out in my vicinity.
Fingers crossed you will recover in time for the concert.
2nd that!
Feel better soon!
Hope your cold passes quickly!
Yikes! I hope that your cold clears up in time for that Christmas concert. ?
I hope you get better quickly.
I hope you feel better soon. You smell absolutely glorious, though!
Hello! Late to this.
1) Thanks so much for the sympathy guys from yesterday! I just have to be a one and done type of gal; holiday happiness is great but hangovers are not!
2) Drinking green tea (!!!!) and am in a combo of Molinard Jasmine and Carol’s Daughter Buttercreme body lotion. I smell of jasmine, cocoa butter, roses and sandalwood, but in a subtle warm way.
3) Okay, Festivus rant: Scent is unisex guys, and can magazines STOP with the weird fake surprise that so and so movie star, of either gender, like this gender marketed scent or another? Please?
Oh, your combo of scents sounds fantastic! I should try that lotion.
Hello all, I’m wearing Aedes Pelargonium today.
Still not on board with BWF.. I want to wear my cozy, comfort scents this time of year. SOTD is SL Five o’clock au gingembre. I do have a few in mind for later this week.
My cat had a weeping gash on top of his head next to his ear last Sunday. He was either fighting with his nemesis, our neighbor’s black cat who ignores the property lines, or was bitten by whatever he was hunting. After an emergency trip to our vet and several shots later, he is finally coming back to his usual self. I wish that I coukd keep him in permanently but he is grounded for the next few weeks. He’s whining to go out so I know he is feeling better. ?
Hope your cat will recover quickly, it’s difficult to keep them in.
You smell lovely.
Good thing your cat is better.
Smelling great! I hope your car gets better soon!
Been through that before, hope he heals up and stays out of trouble!
Poor kitty! Grounded ? Hope it heals quickly.
Ouch! Poor Kitty cat, probably defending his territory.
We had an interloper on our property fight with our cat several times that we nick-named the ‘prehistoric cat’. He was huge, fluffy and a kind of mottled grey and orange color.
Just before we were leaving on a trip to Hawaii we had to take our cat to the vet due to a couple nasty gashes. He had to get stitches, the cone of shame and antibiotics; along with ‘Grandpa’ having to babysit while we were gone.
Your poor kitty. My cat has been clobbered but never that bad. He does mix it up regularly with the big black tomcat but it’s hard to say. It also could have been an owl or some other type of raptor. It’s a worry but he hates being indoors during the day.
Thanks everyone! He’s on the mend and, I think, feeling much better.
Oh, too bad that you are dealing with an injured kitty! ? I’m glad that my 3 have no interest in going outside… it usually means that they are headed to the vet, which is NOT a favorite!
Not at all!
Glad you friend is in the mend and hope whoever he tangled with left town! ?
Oh, poor kitty!
Today I’m wearing Guerlain Jardins de Bagatelle, I’m glad to have the occasion to bring it out, I tend to forget about it.
That is a beautiful perfume! You smell fab!
It really is but gets often overlooked.
Nuit de Jasmin by Kabeah – I am starting light on for BWF week. This is a lovely airy jasmine fragrance and it is never cloying or overpowering.
It is fresh, light, well behaved and the price & 30 ml size is just right.
That sounds lovely!
I’m in a favorite gardenia perfume, Arquiste Boutonniere. My other favorites are Tom Ford Velvet Gardenia and Aftelier Cuir de Gardenia. Honorable mention goes to Yves Rocher Pur Desir de Gardenia.
BoutonniĆØre is lovely!
Posting a second time today because I forgot to say that my presents-to-self from Cyber Monday are starting to arrive and are filling me with such joy! I got three pairs of shoes that are both comfortable and stylish: one pair of classy, grown-up flats in a neutral beige-y shade, one pair of low heels (the only ones I should be wearing nowadays with my foot problems) in a gorgeous, muted blue shade called Pavement, and a pair of, uh, cute sneakers? Anyway, the flats and the heels have come in, and they are SO BEAUTIFUL. Especially the heels! OMG! Just the most luscious leather, and they feel pretty comfortable when walking in them for a couple minutes. I’ll trot them out this weekend for a holiday party and see how I feel on them all night. If they feel comfortable, I’ll want to go out and buy them in every shade, but they currently cost 67 % more than I paid for them, so I’ll wait until the next sale. But I am so excited about my new shoes.
New shoes are a joy forever! Especially when bought in a sale.
š
Nicely done on the new dress shoes. Finding ones that don’t hurt is a saga for sure!
If you’re on a similar quest for very low heels, check out the 45mm Eccos (they’re called like Shape Shoes or something silly). I’ll let you know how comfy they are for me, if you’re interested š They’re such a lovely shape.
That is so nice of you to offer that info. Alas, no shoe shopping for me for a while… vet bills are expen$ive.
SOTD is Civet, as someone mentioned the tuberose note. If you know this you cant unsmell it. So tuberose with a bit leather sofa, some hot espresso and melted caramel sweets, that is what it smells for me. Just have a sample, but will not Need a FB.
Ordered OJ Woman discounted for half price, so super happy! Threw in Orris Noir, because..shipping was the same. And also half price!!!! Don’t tell Donatella ??
Congrats on your lovely purchases! āTis the season!
Great deals! Enjoy your lovely new scents.
Nicely done on the perfume purchases!
Wow, now I really need to try Civet!
I’m trying MDCI Invasion Barbare, which was one of the samples I got from Luckyscent with my purchase of Camel. I still don’t have my smell-capacity back but as far as I can tell this seems to be a pleasant fougere with lavender dominant. Hope everyone is having a good day.
Hope that your “smelling” comes back soon! It’s amazing how much the sense of smell gets taken for granted.
Robin, I am loving the cheetah picture for today! They are so gorgeous.
Good news on Pixel kitty’s blood work today. That means she is going to have her surgery after all. It’s a same day procedure at the vet practice she goes to, so no overnight stay needed. I’m rather thankful for that, since it is insanely expensive!
SOTD = back in Reve d’Ossian. I might have another couple days of wearing incense scents if the cold winds stick around here. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! ?ā?
That’s great news! Glad she is able to go forward with the surgery.?
Hope you get some warmer weather soon.
Thanks Gail!
However, warmer weather is not in the forecast for at least the next 7 days. It’s not so bad if the wind doesn’t kick up again… those chill factors and “Feels Like Temps” are what get to me.
Glad to hear Pixel’s blood work came out fine and she can have surgery. The best for her!
My sample of Ā Reve dāOssian has been calling my name since yesterday. Such a beautiful perfume. You are inspiring me to definitely wear it tomorrow. Stay warm!
Reve d’Ossian has been perfect right now. It’s so much fun when a perfume does that!
Thanks for your good wishes! ?
Good kitty-Kat news for sure! ?
You betcha! ??
Yay for Pixel kitty! How lucky that she has a loving home!
She is so sweet tempered and loving! The vets and techs love seeing her.
Hooray! She’ll be fixed up in no time.
Yes! It will be great to see her eating without having to avoid that bad tooth.
Glad things are good to go for Pixel Kitty. They say we will get a warm up here in about a week too, by warm up, they mean above freezing, but I will take it!
The wind chills were below freezing here today, and cut thru my polar fleece like it wasn’t there! It was a bit of a shock.
Best wishes for you and your kitty!?
Thank you flopper! ??
That is indeed good news! Now if it would just warm up.
Yay, good news! Best wishes for Pixel!
Yeah, cat surgeries are so expensive š We had to go through one of those two year ago. Even the follow-up X-rays/ultrasounds are fabulously expensive. But we love our fuzzy babies so much.
OMG…THREE years ago! My little cancer cat is such a good soldier <3 he's still going on. (This may seem morbid, but I am just so proud of him for being such a good little cancer fighter for so many years! Look at him beating those odds!)
SOTD = VC&A Ambre Imperial
I cannot resist the siren call of my scent twins Undina and Lucas with them mentioning it in their blog post and Instagram. The weather cooperated by being cold and Amber Imperial excelled. The combination of notes including Tonka, vanilla, Amber and benzoin pretty much made this a must have. I got my bottle at Bergdorf but it and other VC&A perfumes are available at Fragrancenet. To get a larger discount, search for the perfume in Fragrantica, the click in Fragrancenet ad featuring the perfume you want to buy.
A friend of mine thinks itās ok to read the first and last chapter of a book and leave a review (Amazon). I say no. Of all the people I know, she would be one of the last people whom I think would think itās ok to do that. As much as I would like to help her (sheās the author), she just seemed too disorganized and did not give people enough time to read her manuscript. Also, instead of a professional photo, she took selfies and asked me to pick the best one for her Linked In page. Being the brutally honest person that I am, I told her while I picked the best of the lot, she needs to at least have someone else take the picture with the proper lighting and pose. Anyway, Iām seeing her this Saturday for dinner and a holiday event.
AI sounds really good. Does it remind you of anything that I may have tried? Just curious.
Sounds like your friend needs some good advice. Still, writing a book is an amazing achievement.
I totally agree with you on the Amazon book reviews. Basing it on only 2 chapters is like saying you don’t like ice cream because of the one time you tried chocolate and didn’t like it. ??
I think you are a good friend to be honest with her. I hope she appreciates it.
I got my bottle from Fragrancenet this summer. Perfect and legit!
Ohhh that sounds sooo good. I’m a big amber nut, too. Hopefully it’ll still be discounted once I’m allowed to buy perfume again! (And I guess I should hope I can find a way to sample it first!)
I wore Wood Sage and Sea Salt during the day and am wearing Bois Blond over the late dry down. Smelling pretty incredible, even if I do say it myself.
I spritzed 3 different perfumes today – had a long and stressful day so needed the scent distractions. They were Lonesome Rider, Olfactive Studio Lumiere Blanche and now Meringa.
I hope tomorrow is a better day! I am curious if you liked any of the scents that you tried? They are all very different.
They are so different but I love all of them – they hit different stress spots through out the day. The Meringa’s sweetness is perfect for pre-bed wind-down.
I have a rapidly evaporating decant of Meringa. It makes me think of lemon meringue pie with tea. It doesn’t have that lemon pledge scent some perfumes with lemon notes have. I must confess that I can’t do Lonesome Rider. The BBQ note just ruins it for me.
Yes! Meringa is lemon pie, not lemon pledge. It’s very well-done although a tad too strong. I don’t get BBQ with Lonesome Rider and I enjoy the Taureade base, which I know can be polarizing.
