Hump Day and United Nations Day. The splitmeet still has plenty of items looking for owners. What fragrance are you wearing?
I am firmly inside my comfort zone with Fendi Theorema.
Reminder: on 10/26, step out of your comfort zone by wearing a perfume that you find challenging. Suggested by lucasai.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2018, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: top image is from the Fendi Reloaded campaign from 2018.
Well I ma in my comfort zone today in Tolu. Maybe it is outside my price comfort zone, but boy I love it.
You can’t have everything 😉
You smell amazing. I love Tolu.
Such a beautiful scent!
Wearing Lancome Cuir today.
Last evening was a late one due to rehearsals for a Veterans concert I am performing in, so I woke tired and a little grumpy this AM.
Extra puppy snuggles took care of some of the grumpy, and this beautiful leather banished the remainder.
Lancome Cuir is gorgeous!
yeah puppy snuggles
The galgo in my avatar is an absolute champ at snuggles
You smell great!
That pup is adorable!
Glad the grumpies have disappeared.
Today’s SOTD is the original Halston vintage extrait, fitting in with the cheap thrills and 80’s theme. Happy Hump day everyone! 🙂
what is that one like?
Lovestosmellgood – it’s considered to be a chypre/floral and is in the same vein as Aliage (with less dry herbs) Paloma Picasso and Estee Lauder’s Knowing (vetiver/greens/oakmoss but less fruity notes). The nose is Bernard Chant, which explains why I love it so. He created Aromatics Elixir, another favorite of mine. 🙂
Notes from Fragrantica: Top notes are mint, melon, green leaves, peach and bergamot; middle notes are carnation, orris root, jasmine, marigold, ylang-ylang, cedar and rose; base notes are sandalwood, amber, patchouli, musk, oakmoss, vetiver and incense.
I also have Halston Couture, which shares lineage but is closer to Gucci L’ Arte di Gucci edt, more earth, woods and rose and is drier with less moss.
https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Halston/Halston-Couture-3694.html
Halston Couture seems right up my alley! I love the notes 🙂
They both sound wonderful, thank you for describing, and Bernard Chant also gave us Cabochard and several of the Aramis.
He truly is one of my favorite perfumers along with Sophia Grojsman. 🙂
On the 80’s theme as well. Tried RL Safari today, and though it is really not me, and wouldn’t have been even in the 80’s, it was surprisingly good. And a hundred times better than any Gucci Guilty Absolute or Dior currently gracing the department store shelves.
Safari is a little difficult for me in the beginning, but the far dry down is glorious stuff. It’s soft, warm and ambery.
I totally agree as compared to the current releases, they all seem to have a grating edge to them.
Yes, the beginning is a little Joan Collins, isn’t it? 🙂
I’m in the far dry down now, and it is glorious. Usually I don’t even like ambers that much (maybe the grating edge that you mention), but this is smo-o-oth.
That’s the thing with those big 80s perfumes and colognes- they are BIG BIG BIG- but the drydowns are wonderful.
Yes, Joan Collins is a perfect description! And I already have big 80’s-style hair (much thanks to my Jewish ancestors).
So true… I was making an experiment with the 1st Ivoire not long ago, and honestly it beats most niche offerings, it is beguilingly complex, and it lasts forever.
The oldies but goodies sure packed a whallop!
Hello SmokeyToes! I saw your reply in yesterday’s thread, but figured I’d post here. I don’t remember ever seeing Willi Wear back in the day, but that might have been because I lived in the sticks during high school. Benneton was very definitely around during college. It’s funny how different things showed up as trends depending on where I was at.
Omg, vtg extract!! You smell divine ????????
And I’m jealous too????
That must be a fantastic scent in extrait. You smell amazing!
I had a bottle of the perfume (or maybe it was the EDT) and that was great. I loved the bottle!
Gail, I love it also. 🙂
If I’m not mistaken, I think the bottle was designed by Elsa Peretti, who did the kidney bean necklace for Tiffany.
Out of my comfort zone: Sous le Vent
To my nose this one smells like an animal in heat…but I love it.
Sipping on a cup of Inka
I adore Sous le Vent, you smell amazing! 🙂
“like an animal in heat” Yikes! Is it the jasmine that gives perfumes that vibe?
The notes are : basil, bergamot, lavender, tarragon, carnation, oakmoss, iris, woods, patchouli.
I’m comfy, and artichokey, in PPC Rose 802 perfume oil.
Artichokey comfort — there ought to be an emoji for that.
I had feta and artichoke dip for dinner last night. It was comfy and artichokey. I would love to try a perfume with a true artichoke note.
Feta & artichoke dip sounds yummy! ????
Hello all!
I’m wearing a discreet amount of Gucci Rush after finding a bottle at TJ Maxx for less than the going eBay rate! I always check the perfume section but I hadn’t found anything with getting excited over in months.
I’m getting over a rough weekend (still) so I’m holding my discomfort till Friday. 🙂
You must have a magic perfume finding compass!????
I actually found something even cooler on Monday but I’m saving that for the weekend! 😉
Great find!
Sorry to hear that you’ve had a rough time of it lately.
Deeply in my comfort zone in Rien.
Tea is actually tisane, mint and lindenblossom, there is a stomach bug making the rounds and I think it’s paying me a brief visit.
I adore lindenblossom tea. Get better!
Mint tea always helps — hope the visit is VERY brief.
Take care of yourself!
Linden blossom tea is one of my favorite “medicinal” drinks 🙂
I hope you feel better soon!
Oh no, feel better soon!
Yuck!!! I hope that stomach bug is a short lived one for you.
SotM = L’Heure Bleue
Smelling extremely comfy, toe-curlingly so, deep breath and smile wide wonderful. When I smelled L’HB on my arm last night and then added more this morning it felt just right. Delicious. It’s a delight when an old fragrant friend turns on the charm so perfectly.
Gosh, Theorema, that’s another one that is just! so! good! I put my mini out on my dressing table to wear soon. So many perfumes, so little time! I wish I had three noses! 😀
The extrait of LHB is amazing!!
oh gosh, yes! 😀
SOTD Chanel Paris – Deauville
no, not challenging, but I really like it. Boy this has tenacity for an Eau. I sprayed it on last night and it really clings to fabric too. Something in it is reminiscent of RL Romance to me…anyone else?
I love this scent, but unfortunately cannot compare to RL. In any case, you smell great!
Thanks!
This one is my second favorite of the three. You smell good!
Every time I test it, it reminds me of something else but parallel testing so far proved that those were false associations. I should check if I have a sample of Romance somewhere…
Which is your favorite?
If your able to make the comparison, please let me know!
Good morning Y’all….
Totally comfortable and cozy in Clinique Aromatics in White. Makes me think of a cozy blanket in bed, with a huge cup of tea, a book, and then a nap for as long as I want! 🙂
Oh, that sounds marvelous. All of it now, please.
So good to see you’re back JadainGA!
Did you ever try aromatics elixir premier?
It’s great to be back….I really missed it here!
I’ve yet to run across the Premier version….I will keep an eye out for it. I usually head into the city during the holidays for shopping, so I’ll find it at a better dept store I’m sure….
SotD is Lea over The Body Shop’s almond milk and honey lotion. This would be totally in my comfort zone, so I am a fail for today. A good smelling fail though.????
Did anyone else watch The Great American Read last night? madtownteen and I watched, and of course she was disappointed that Harry Potter was not number one. Three out of a hundred is not too bad though. I’ve lost track of how many times she’s re-read that series. Most recently over this past summer (along with 47 other books). I was rooting for my childhood favorites Charlotte’s Web or Where the Red Fern Grows. I’m a sentimentalist at heart.
I hadn’t heard of this, but just read the top 100 list and it’s fascinating! What an interesting snapshot of our reading culture.
It really is fascinating, thanks for mentioning the list Regina, and thanks MadtownGirl for reminding us of the project, I have not been paying much attetion.
The top 100 is so eclectic and “messy” in terms of the mix. Love seeing Their Eyes Were Watching God just barely edge out Jurassic Park! And there are lots of other books there that I’m surprised (but glad!) people still read, like Confederacy of Dunces and Siddhartha.
Both you mentioned are fantastic! The first time I read COD, it felt like I was watching a movie! So 3D and real life, that book is absolutely ALIVE!
Charlotte’s Web is such a favorite from my childhood. And Stuart Little!
Charlotte’s Web has IMO the world’s best opening line: “Where’s Papa going with that ax?”
I was really hoping that The Great Gatsby or And Then There Were None would win, but I am not mad that To Kill a Mockingbird took the trophy.
What an awesome battle!
To Kill A Mockingbird must be the “most assigned” book on the list, I was thinking? Wonder if that is also behind the enduring appeal of Things Fall Apart — great book, but hard to believe it would find such a following otherwise. When my son was assigned it in his first semester of college, I lent him the copy I was assigned in college 🙂
Oh, so happy you mentioned this because I have no IDEA what’s going outside of online news (no tv).
Can I just say TKAM is my all time FAVORITE book EVER?! So happy it was number one. I won’t go on and on extolling its many and varied virtues, but I will say I probably read my copy at least once a year. It never gets old. I had to replace my high school copy years ago because it just fell apart from all the love and handling I gave it over the years. This has made my day! Now I’m going to look at that list…
I love it too. It’s definitely in my top 5.
I’m in TF Soleil Blanc thanks to the freebiemeet and a generous NSTer. I’m loving the sun lotion vibe and layered it with Nuxe Huile Prodigieux. I smell so tropical despite the cold weather
I would love to be in the tropics…
I could really go for a tropical beach today….
I am wearing Jo Malone Blackberry & Bay and drinking English Breakfast tea. I haven’t been good about keeping with the theme this week. I have been wearing the scents that give me comfort. Lots of stuff going on in my life right now. I need my fragrance to help stabilize me 🙂
I have enjoyed reading the comments and the fragrance choices of others the last few days though.
You smell lovely.
Hey, always ignore the project when it does not suit your life at the moment!
Great choice! And it looks like you have many scent twins (in terms of wearing something comforting).
You smell great.
I hope all that stuff in your life calms down as soon as possible. ????
SOTD = Tauer Les Années 25.
Firmly in the comfort zone, if somewhat flaunting my new employer’s policy on scent. (Let’s just say there are some areas I won’t be allowed in, and fortunately I don’t have any plans to be there today.) I’ve got a crazy busy week, so staying in my comfort zone for the time being.
The crazy busy week is half over, so hang in there!
I’m wearing J.Crew No. 57 for the first time. I received a decant from a generous NSTer from the freebiemeet. I was reluctant to wear it because I knew it was a vanilla forward scent and I dislike vanilla. However, after applying it lightly (for me) I am really enjoying it. At this point in its development it is almost an incense scent, although incense is not listed as a note.
I own a bottle of this and don’t associate vanilla with it as much as whiskey
Yes, the very best of a cocktail! I wish this was still available!
I had an almost full bottle up for grabs at the last swap meet. It didn’t get snagged so will probably reappear in the next one!
I am gonna be beady eyed about that one next time! 😀
I’m wearing Sarrasins to the office, because it’s so beautiful (my favourite jasmine, I think). I know some people find it challenging, but I’m not one of them. It actually smells quite mellow to me, velvety and smooth.
Agree that it is just beautiful!
My favourite jasmine as well, and probably my favourite Lutens. I don’t find it challenging at all, although it wasn’t quite love at first sniff.
SOTD Dusita Issara. Somewhat challenging, especially in the early phases, since I get something both rubbery and soapy. I think I like it better smelled from afar than up close. The drydown is quite serene and beautiful, though.
I had a hard time with Issara. I probably didn’t leave it on long enough for the drydown.
I’m in Ouarzazate this morning, and drinking Mighty Leaf vanilla bean black tea. I have one more tea bag to go in this box, so this is a tea pre-thunk. I’ll take ‘em where I can get ‘em.
I’ve actually almost drained the decant of Ouarzazate as well. I’ve really enjoyed this one – thank you, Elisa P!
Smelling great! Glad you enjoyed it ????
Hurray for your tea “pre-thunk”!
Thanks! I thunked a FB this evening, to my surprise.
Nicely done! What was your perfume THUNK?
It was Vanilla Lavender, by Lavanila. I was using it as a linen spray as well as on skin, which hastened the process!
You smell great!
Thanks, Petunia! ????
I’ve been kept from posting for a few days by work busyness and not feeling well late last week and through the weekend. I was either having intense allergies or the beginning of a sinus infection that I fought off.
But I have been participating in the CP. Monday and Tuesday I wore Oriza L. Legrand Foin Fraichement Coup and Parfums Quartana Hemlock. FFC seemed too clean up top and then too powdery not in a good way when I first tried it, but I really liked it a lot on Monday. Hemlock has a challenging vinyl note for the first hour or so, but I’ve totally warmed up to it and couldn’t stop smelling myself today.
And today I’ve come around to another perfume that’s challenged me, Rochas Femme in vintage parfum de toilette concentration. The couple times I’ve worn Femme I’ve appreciated it but didn’t connect with it. Today I’m wearing from a fresher decant that I received in a swap last year as an extra, and it’s feeling very cozy. I kinda wish I’d risked a few more sprays!
I was just reading about that Oriza. I find a lot of their scents challenging, but more in their unique take on common things- and often some medicinal blast.
Hemlock is challenging for me because I’ve really done a 180 on vanilla some time in the last couple of years. I bought it when I still enjoyed vanilla. Though, I still like it *because* of the vinyl, but only in warmer weather, lol.
That’s pretty accurate about the Orizas. I think almost all that I’ve tried have had some challenging aspect except maybe Royal Oeillet and Vetiver Bourbon Royal.
Sounds like you are feeling much better, therabbitsflower!
Yes, thank goodness!
You guys. On the plane from Sweden to Iceland, I decided to go out of my comfort zone and watch Get Out. I hate horror movies, but this one has been lauded as such a cultural touchstone that I decided to go for it. Full daylight, surrounded by people on a plane; how bad could it be?
…What I did NOT consider was how horrifying it would be to watch it and then watch my plane descend onto a desolate island sparsely populated by white people. As a woman of color. I am intellectually aware that that movie is fiction, but my emotions are not in the habit of listening to my rational brain. I would like to be home in California, thank you very much. *deep breaths* Anyway, if you are the kind of person who categorically avoids horror films, as I am, do yourself a favor and stay away from this one, no matter how culturally important it is. I don’t know how long it’ll take me to settle down again.
Well, I’m wearing Baux from the airport. So at least I smell good.
I hope you can feel comfortable again soon. When your emotions and rational brain get violently separated, it is such an awful feeling.
Thank you, Sistine! And how perfectly put. That’s exactly the problem.
What where you thinking???
I also avoid horror movies.
On the way back from Paris I saw:
Shape of Water
The Room
3 Billboards
The Room was my favorite, I appreciated the others but didn’t enjoy watching
I DON’T KNOW WHAT I WAS THINKING.
All three of those are also scary movies, no? Though not strictly horror movies. That’s why I have been avoiding them.
The Room is comedy (you might be thinking of Room)
The other two have a lot of drama, creepiness & some gore, adult content etc.
Would you recommend the preparation you did to avoid jet leg? I may have missed you talking about it but I’m interested to know!
Ah! That explains it. I didn’t know there were two room-related films.
Oh! And if you are the kind of person who can sleep on the plane, then I recommend earlier wake up times leading up to travel. If not, I definitely don’t. The 15-hour fast appeared to have worked out pretty well though! (So you fast for 15 h and time it such that you break your fast in the destination time zone. You can actually do this whether or not you’ve already landed in the destination by breakfast time.)
Sorry it really upset you! I hope it wears off and you can enjoy the other worldly landscape.
I watched Get Out and The Lobster back-to-back on my flight back from Hawaii. Get Out seemed mild (from a horror perspective, not from a social critique angle) compared to The Lobster. That movie really disturbed me.
What I am getting from this is that I should never EVER watch the Lobster.
If Get Out is mild for a horror film, then you can see how poorly I’d deal with worse ones. Gah.
I can’t watch horror and/or suspenseful movies either. According to Mr. Jalapeno, I did some serious damage to his arm when we saw the original “Jurassic Park” in the movie theater. He could NOT pry my hand off his arm no matter what. Poor guy ended up with a series of bruises where I was grabbing on.
Ahahaha I grip my boyfriend’s arm in scary moments too. When he can tell one is coming up, he now often strategically detaches or moves my fingers.
I really like Jordan Peele but decided no way.
Good call. I just fell prey to the hype.
Hi All!
1) Am firmly in my comfort zone in Prada Amande. Perfect for a cloudy, foggy day.
2) Am discombulated by life. Wihout going into many details, I just found out some stunning news about my sister’s well being and economic health. I am most grateful for the safety net of NYC and the USA for helping her; I am so far away. I have been drinking a lot of tea and doing a lot of restorative yoga. the next year will be a project to help my sister find herself again.
I’m sending good energy to you and your sister. And hugs.
Sending good thoughts to you and your sister. (((hugs)))
(hugs back)
So sorry, Ede! Sending positive vibes to you both.
Much needed and appreciated!
Oof. So sorry to read (2). My best wishes.
Sending well wishes for your sister.
This upcoming year will be a challenging one for her. Baby steps.
Thank god your sister has you! ????
I am trying my very best!
Your sister is lucky to have you in her life. Hugs to both of you! ????
Re: 2) well wishes to your and your sister.
Ede I am so sorry, and very good luck to both of you, it sounds like a tough situation.
Today was not a good day to be challenged, so I’m wearing my ultimate comfort scent, Wood Sage and Sea Salt. Yesterday I wore Beige, which I do find challenging. It’s beautiful, but the challenges are a) it seems wrong to wear it just for a normal day and b) I always wear something beige when I wear it. I can’t stop myself.
It’s a good thing I don’t have a perfume called “dirty, wrinkled, smelly”. I apparently am a sucker for names.
Lol!…. maybe put it on some afternoon after you are already dressed and into your day.
????
In wonderful Heure Exquise today. I don’t find it challenging, but when I first fell down the rabbit hole and started identifying notes etc. I found iris scents very challenging. A few great perfumistas on here guided me and suggested different ones to try and now it’s become one of my favorite categories. Go figure!
Can someone please send the sun back to New Mexico? It’s rained for two days straight which I do not appreciate at all. I’ve been spoiled to the almost constant sunshine apparently.
No can do KellyC. Sorry, I gotta horde any sun that comes my way between now and april. ????????
Sad to say, I’m in the same weather situation as lillyjo. My extended forecast is looking gloomy and wet! ????☔????
I heard Saturday will have Big Rain!
Totally in my comfort zone with The One, The Only, Kenzoe Jungle l’Elephant! Gadzooks, I love this one! And to top it off, I’m just getting things started with a boiling hot cup of coffee and a pumpkin spice bagel topped with pumpkin spice cream cheese!
It’s brisk and sunny out, the dog is gaboling about like a five day old foal, and I’m not working today.
My morning is perfection! ????
Pumpkin spice cream cheese sounds good! I’m glad you are having a great morning. ????
Gamboling*
Jealous of your perfect morning!
I love all the pumpkin everything this time of year..
Your morning sounds fan-freaking-tastic!
I now think pumpkin spice whatever is overdone. That said, I still get enabled when I see PUMPKIN SPICE!
Wearing Ungaro Diva from a vintage mini. Beautiful, but old-school rose chypres is a difficult category for me, so I find this rose/oakmoss/honey perfume quite challenging. Diva has a lot of honey, and as a fan of honey, I quite enjoy this scent occasionally, aplied sparingly.
Robin, have you seen Carthusia Advent Calendar? Might be useful for your advent calendar posts:
http://www.carthusia.it/catalog/product/view/id/616/s/advent-calendar-limited-edition/category/118/
http://www.ausliebezumduft.de/carthusia-christmas-collection-adventskalender.html
Rose + oakmoss + honey sounds wonderful!
It is an early 90s go big or go home scent! So fantastic. If you want a sample, email me:
laugsb at sbcglobal dot net
Thanks for the offer, but I have a sample of it that has been trying to get my attention for a while. I should dig it out and just try it!
I know how it is – I have a lot of unsniffed samples myself. I quite agree with Laura’s description, so when you are in a mood for a big old-school honeyed chypre, try Diva.
You smell heavenly! I ♥️vtg Diva!!
Thank you! This is an amazing scent.
How cute is that? Thank you, done with Advent posts but will make it a daily lemming.
I especially like the use of quotations and the fact that they included Mediterraneo. But I heard that this is their best seller, so it’s not surprising.
Wearing vintage BaV today while I look at discovery sets on Luckyscent. I am thinking of the La Maison de la Vanilla sampler set for $50. Five 15ml sprays for that price isn’t bad.
Practically free with perfume math. ????
I am in Atelier Cologne Vanille Insensee and I’m getting surer by the minute that I need to get a full bottle of this for Christmas. It’s comforting but also lively.
Sephora has a mens sample set with Vanille Insensee in it for 65 dollars. Then you can redeem the coupon for a one oz bottle of VI. Even cheaper if you buy it during the VIB sale coming up. No affiliation.
Thanks for the tip! I’m not ready to cash out yet but I’ll check if this is still a thing when I get there. 🙂
Isn’t that on the split meet?
Possibly, I haven’t checked, but right now I really shouldn’t spend. I’m hoping for relatives not having an idea about what to get me and opting for giving cash. Thanks for the tip, though! 🙂
We’re a naught enabling bunch — it is the very first split posted and I don’t think you could get it any cheaper unless you buy a 200mL bottle at a discount. A $12 10mL decant should tied you over until you finish dropping hints to a gift-giver.
Eh, that should have said “naughty”
I’m sampling Abel Green Cedar today. I’ve previously found cedar to be too sharp but I’ve discovered compositions where it has been rendered cozy without losing too much of the cedar. I think Cartier’s Declaration Parfum is a good example of this.
I like this one
Wallowing comfortably today in MFK Oud edp.
I think there is more comforting than out of comfort zone going on here today 🙂
Day two of not going to work. Feeling better than yesterday though. I’m not wearing any perfume, but my daughters sotd was White Diamonds. She picked it herself. When I saw her grab it, I yelled out to only use two sprays. Unfortunately, she took that to mean two sprays on each pulse point. 8 sprays later…. she was on the bus smelling pretty darn fancy ????
Wow, your daughter has the Hajusuuri method of perfume application down! Glad to hear that you are feeling better today. ????
Ha! As I was watching her spray I was thinking 8 spray La Pausa sp? But with White Diamonds, it was truly unnecessary ????
Yes, 8 spray La Pausa except the last time I wore it, I used 10 sprays ????
LOL, except I spray and walk into the mist ????
Perfumes that seem ‘sticky’ or ‘sugary’ are a big challenge ( slightly different to ‘sweet’ perfumes) . Lily notes often cause problems as they seem like pink icing. Caramel notes that become sticky toffee. So my challenge scent is Vierge de Fer from a bottle I own . It is slightly metallic ,and uncomfortable like biting into tinfoil and quite sugary but it is also quite impressionistic and therefore interesting. I re-tried baiser vole lys rose (?) yesterday and that was a bit of a struggle.
The lilacs are in bloom …wish I could press pause on the spring garden world for a month as they are so lovely. All the chesnuts are now flowering too.
I love lilac season, I will be enjoying vicariously!
Enslaved, Roja Dove, from a decant. Super powder, it’s very glam for a rainy cold day.
You smell great!
La Fille de Berlin today for work. And I used up the whole sample….
Jicky in the evening for my workout in the Crosstrainer… This is good if I sweat a little… gets a lot more animalic ????
Oh, Jicky for workout seems like a great idea! I will have to try that.
I’m in vintage parfum sacre i found at the paris flea market in saint ouen last week. Finally home after a day and a half of flying.
Wow, nice find! Hope the rest of the trip was as lucky.
Not quite as much sun here today, but still enough to keep me happy. ???? I’m accidentally participating in this week’s community project. I didn’t mean to wear a challenging scent, but sometimes that is what you get when trying something new for the first time. ????
SOTD = Byredo Bibliotheque EdP from the sample stash, and a lovely NSTer. On me, this is a rather sweet gourmand leather. I’m getting notes of vanilla, marshmallow, maybe coconut, some light blonde woods, and a hint of soft leather. ???? I seem to amp up sweet notes with this one.
Sounds like an interesting perfume. Do you like it? I’m trying to imagine marshmallow sweet and leather together.
It is too sweet for me, unfortunately. The idea behind it could be interesting, though. I should sniff Narciso White Cube and see if it smells at all similar to Bibliotheque.
I thought that white cube was gardenia? It my fav. of that range…although I haven’t tried most of the flankers.
I remember, maybe erroneously, a review/description of White Cube calling it “…marshmallow fluff on a wood plank”. It’s the wood and marshmallow notes that have me wondering.
Chiming in to say I just sniffed this a few days ago and LOVED it. Not as sweet on me, more a warm, honeyed tobacco leather.
I tried my sample due to your mentioning it! ???? I’m going to chalk up my sniffing results to differing skin chemistry.
I’m wondering if spraying more removes the coconut and also makes it less sweet? My Slumberhouse Baque smelled of coconut when I did 2 tentative sprays. When I amped it up (at 3-4 sprays), the coconut was not as prominent.
The sample I have is a spray sample, not a dabber. I did a tentative spritz or two, as per my usual cautious testing routine. Maybe I will try more sprays at a later date, and in different weather.
Hiram Green Slowdive for a morning at the vets getting puppygirl checked out (she is just fine). Another beautiful sunny day!
Another Hiram Green on NST. His scents are so amazingly complex and prismatic
Yay for your puppygirl acing her physical! ????
Glad your sweet puppygirl did well at her appointment! ❤️
Hooray for puppygirl’s good report from the vet!
SOTD + Chanel No. 19 EDP
Not challenging at all but I wore it for a challenging day at work. I am happy to report that prep work paid off and our team did very well in our presentation!
Commuting Woes No 607:
For the 2nd segment of my commute home, my stop is the last one to catch a connecting train. Yesterday, at the second to the last stop, just when the doors were about to close, a guy popped off where he was standing and made his way to the doors. Two of us standing by the door stepped aside to let the guy go through. To our consternation, the guy just wanted to position himself smack in front of the doors so that he can get off first at the last stop! To say we were pissed was an understatement! Today, someone else tried to do that but I just angled my body to block his way. I also let my body sway a little more with the motion of the train to signal that he is in the way.
It’s amazing to me how discourteous and entitled some people are. They never think of anyone besides themselves. At least you smelled great today!
Channeling Deva: ridonkulous!
Good job on your presentation! ????????
Thank you!
I chose Boyfriend by Kate Walsh today. I really like BF but it is a departure from the type of scents that I normally wear. It’s a little too sweet and feels a little dated but I enjoy wearing it anyway. Most likely, I feel like it’s too young for me but that won’t stop me from wearing it when the mood strikes.
I still like Boyfriend quite a bit! It’s still not quite cold enough for me to wear it, though… it’s a comfort scent for the depths of winter
I smell like a cinnamon bun with orange glaze in a good way.
Next time I wear Boyfriend I will keep a sniff out for the orange. I have never noticed that particular note on me.
BTW, do you have the new formulation or the old one?
I have the first release
Me too! ????
Not really a challenging scent today; I’m in some Shalimar extrait as a reward for surviving yesterday at work.
Thankfully today was much better and I accomplished quite a bit for a change. Lots of my prep work paid off finally. I even got an email from my Supervisor saying I did a great job! Those compliments are as rare as hen’s teeth.
Happy fragrant hump day everyone!
Heh, we are prep work paid off twins – this might be a first on NST!
Yay us! Congrats on a successful day.
Congrats on the work compliment! That is awesome!
Thank you Jalapeno! Its nice when someone actually notices and appreciates all your efforts.
Yes! Especially in a work environment.
