Happy Almost-Friday, happy World Bratwurst Day and happy Rollercoaster Day! What fragrance are you wearing?
I've got an easy one for you: I'm an angry island.
Reminder: 8/17 will be Guessing Game Friday, edition 2. Describe your perfume to us, OR, give your perfume the name it ought to have had, and we'll see if we can guess what it is.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2018, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: the image title is a clue to my fragrance, so I won't add it in until someone has guessed. And... top image is Corse du Sud, Bonifacio 215 le soleil à travers la grille [cropped] by Pascal POGGI at flickr; some rights reserved.
Tree, tree
dry and green.
Sycomore?
Sadly, no. I have yet to try that one!
Arbole, arbole?
Yes! I was going to cut and paste the entire poem, but I didn’t want to hog that much screen space.
I’ve been craving Arbole Arbole lately but am a bit scurred to wear it in the heat. How’s it faring?
Omg, It bloomed beautifully in the heat and humidity today. I just got my sample last week so this was the first real wear for me. It was love at first sniff. Honey is not listed in the notes, but I swear it’s there.
Love this one!
I could go for a bratwurst right about now 🙂
Poor Man’s Cardinal (and THUNK because I am now using it to make solid essential oil perfumes…I was a busy beaver this morning !!!!)
C’mon over! Brats are a Wisconsin specialty!
Oh I would love to come over right now…I am hungry just thinking about it!
Frankincense oil.
You are the master…that’s 2 for 2 Bear with 100 percent accuracy!
I finished a sample of The Smell of Weather Turning.
I love that weird wonder.
Oh, that’s the real name? What a marvelous name. Does the scent live up to it?
You know, if we are being literal, Demeter Thunderstorm or Snow smell much more apropos to the name. However, it is a lovely, spicy scent that really bloomed in the heat of Texas. The sillage and longevity are great on my skin. I would love to try this in the fall and winter. This is decant worthy, if not full bottle worthy to me. Unfortunately, I believe that it is discontinued.
No, I think it is available at select Lush stores again. I was recently talking to a sales associate who was a little irritated that his store had been passed over for the black label scents. I felt kinda bad for him.
☕☕☕
You’re a superstar,
Yeah that’s what you are,
You know it,
C’mon……????✌????????????????????
Happy 60th Birthday, Madonna! ????
I’m a flanker, none of my notes appear in the original. I’m a bad man! LOLOLOL ???? Part of a mini trend for mainstream floral scents for Men.
Who am I?
????????????????☝????✌????✋✋????
????
R.I.P. Aretha Franklin
Rock steady.
????
❤
No words on Aretha, too much. Is your sotd Bulgari Black Tea?
Incorrect. ????
Dior’s Eau Sauvage?
I just finally looked at news. Glad she got to die at home with family.
Ditto this.
Is it one of the Dior Homme flankers?
No, austenfan. ????
Fleur de Male?
Did bad man give it away? ????
Correct Glannys!
????????
Yes! “Male” = bad, evil and “male” – man. Loved your double meaning. 🙂
Not playing today because my sotd involves reporting: Stash hair mist. I wanted the holiday gift set with Stash, body lotion and hair mist this past season. It was unavailable on the website and the set my Ulta was selling was different but I was nosing around Ulta last week looking to spend my birthday bonus and lo and behold, the hair mist gift set marked 50% off. With my $10 off, a whopping $17! I gave the 1oz perfume to my mother, who loves it. I do love a bargain 🙂
I really like Stash. I got the perfume spray, roll-on and oil combo for around $25 at TJ Maxx, and I have been quite pleased with the purchase.
I am in a perfume from a major house
It’s a flanker, and fresh!
Take a _____ , and guess!
Chance Fraiche!
Ding ding ding
Chance!
✌????
The fraiche flanker
Robin, your scent is Corsica Furiosa.
As for mine. This is a fragrance by a US niche designer. As far as I know, all perfumes of this house are created by its founder.
The scent faithfully reproduces the smell of a certain candy. The name of the scent refers to the color and shape of the said candy.
Yes it is!
By “a US niche designer” you mean someone who also makes clothing?
No, sorry for not being clear. As far as I know, they only make fragrances.
You definitely know this scent. Actually, I learned about it from you.
Wow, was totally stumped then it came to me … I hope … Kerosene Black Vines?
YES!!
And I finished my sample. A very fun and creative scent.
I wore this today too! Luca Turin gave it 4 stars in the new guide and called it Atomic Anise. I questioned myself briefly, is it too strong in the hot weather, but fiddle dee dee! I wore it anyway.
Twins!
Yes, I remember that review. ‘Aromic Anise’ is a good description.
I think that despite warm and spicy notes Black Vines is wearable in summer. Anise has a cool ‘camphor’ aspect (at least so it seems to me).
Robin, I bet you’re wearing Corsica Furiosa!
I’m in Agua de Colonia Concentrada today.
Didn’t get to my Berdoues samples last night because I got distracted by some L’Artisan samples: L’Eau d’Ambre and Seville a l’Aube.
L’Eau d’Ambre is a pretty standard but likeable amber-vanilla-patchouli, which I’ll save for cooler weather. Seville a l’Aube, sadly, still doesn’t work for me. I’ve tried it before, and I still really want to like it (the notes list reads like my dream fragrance) but something about the orange blossom-beeswax combo goes to EXTREME SOAP on my skin. Normally I like soapy scents, but this is just too much.
I really wanted to like Seville too but it goes all corn tortillas on my skin.
Yep!
I’m wearing 3 different patchouli perfumes for comparison sake. One is a new release which is faint next to the second one, which is held in high esteem. The third one is never talked about, but is from my favorite house. Took my daughter to a church fair last night and they had a petting zoo set up. A goat tried to ear my daughter’s pants, I wish you all could have heard her laugh. It was super fun ????
Tempo
Coromandel
Black Opium
Glad you and your daughter had fun! ????????
First two are correct, try again for the third.
Ahhh, Thierry Mugler!
An Alien with patchouli, maybe.
The flankers make my head spin !!!
????????????
Not an Alien, but it is from TM exclusive line.
It’s a Mugler? Angel flanker? The cuir one?
Yes to Mugler, but exclusive. I think I’ve only ever seen it mentioned once.
Mugler Over the Musk?
Mystic Aromatic?
Chyprissime ????????????
Ding ding ding!????
???? is unstoppable
Wearing a remote white floral that is officially called a neochypre from a Swiss niche house.
Love your angry island description!
Sotto Luna Gardenia by Tauer??
Nope
The Sotto Tuberose??
It’s not a Tauer at all.
Manoumalia?
No, not Manoumalia, gorgeous scent though.
Vero Profumo Mito?
Not by Vero Profumo!
Ok, two more clues.
The house is Swiss and is rarely mentioned here or elsewhere, although two of its fragrances are reviewed on this site.
It shares its name with a Duke Ellington song.
Oh! Ys Uzac? Satin Doll?
Yesss!
Crazy week, but I’ll try to play today:
I’m a juice with a purpose, but my bitter tartness surprised many during my limited run…
Stumped!
Headstrong Pamplelune! ????
You might be in the right house…
Famous lovers have mistaken me for wine…
Philtre d’Amour (Tristan and Isolde)?
You got it!
Poison Girl?
Good guess! but not quite right…
My behavior is unusual or slightly strange. I am the second in line.
RIP Aretha. What a glorious voice.
Escentric 02?
Correct!
Wearing inconceivable purple powder flower.
Impossible Iris?
Yep 🙂
I bet you smell great!
In O de Lancome for a super hot and muggy day.
Have a peaceful day everyone!
I’m a fan of O!
I love O! Isn’t it great?
You smell great. Perfect for a hot, humid day.
Thank you LizzieB! ????
You are wearing one of my “pretend buys” of the summer. I love that it’s refreshing plus sophisticated smelling.
O and Cristalle are my favorite refreshing scents for very hot summer days. Beautiful and long lasting even on my scent eating skin.
Love the O but haven’t worn it in maybe 30 years. The flanker of it was great too…O Intense. My dad bought me two bottles when the SA told him it was being discontinued…. drained those years ago. Happy to see you enjoying your full bottles now.????????
I never tried the Intense, but I am sure it was as good as the original. Trying my best to enjoy the summer full bottles before the weather starts changing next month. Unbelievable that summer went so fast!
O de Lancome is wonderful stuff! I was talking to a sales associate at Lord and Taylor about it this past weekend. It goes for crazy low prices on some of the discount sites, too.
It is really wonderful and very affordable. It still has many fans!
I don’t think I’m creative enough for this challenge but I’m sure the perfume namesake would be with a little help from his cat of six toes.
Hemingway!
Right!! By the way, this scent is outstanding. By far my favorite release so far the year. A little dirty but still very clean. Time to save up my dollars.
So you meant Masque’s Hemingway, not Histoires de Parfums’. I was not sure. 🙂 Thanks for the mini review!
Yes. Masque Milano from a sample. ????
Some people find my scent creepy but I think that it’s just a pretty earthy floral.
Zoologist Bat?
Messe de Minuit?
Good guesses but no.
Oriza Legrand Chypre Mousse?
Nope…
Clue, This scent’s name is also the title of a book.
De Profundis!
Commando but trying to decide between fresh samples of two shapeshifters: a snake and a lavender.
You got it!
People find the scent of De Profundis creepy?!?!
If you read some of the more dramatic reviews on Fragrantica. The back story is about loss and death. “From The Depths I Cried”
People describe it as cold or like a graveyard. ????
Oh sure, I understand the Wilde letter was upsetting, but the scent–! It’s cold, but just so beautiful that I could never find it creepy.
Isn’t it some kind of religious reference re: death? And whatever the primary floral note is (can’t remember right now) is one associated with funerals and gravestones… or something like that, IIRC.
Chrysanthemums, I believe.
I’m wearing a couple of drops of vintage Obsession perfume, which I am completely confident that Aretha (RIP) would have worn in the mid-eighties, quite possibly onstage. The top notes are little smudged but the rest of it is completely intact and just as radiantly vulgar as ever. My god, that was a good scent. The current version is not the same.
I love radiantly vulgar!
One of my favorite spicy ambers. ????
I’m wearing an 80s rose chypre that would be appropriate for Aretha.
Mon Parfum Paloma Picasso
Diva? Can’t remember the house.
Ungaro, and I think you’re right! Very nice!
Ungaro Diva is a good guess. I should have worn that for Aretha.
Absolutely right!
Clue: somebody has a three year birthday coming up! I smell fresh and p-frooty.
What am I wearing?
Arielle Shoshanna?
Ding ding ding!
My scent is a ride in a carriage made of sandalwood, traveling through morning fields of iris.
Jo Malone Orris and Sandalwood?
Close!
Calèche?
Yes! You got the “carriage.”
p.s. love your avatar
Equistrius?
Ooh, good guess, and sorry I couldn’t make it back sooner!
SOTD – I’ve got my tomato leaf.
So sad to lose her…
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Ifw8JhDBvs
Aedes?
Good guess but no – AG Ninfeo Mio
Ah, good one!
I’m wearing Rundholz 20 Mars 2022.
SOTD is a super cheap, super underrated, super royal perfume…I’ve raved about it here a lot! Robin gets an enabler pin because it was her review that convinced my to blind buy it.
There. I gave it away again????
Queen for a Queen. ????
Rock steady.
????
Queen!!
Queen?
Totally Queen! And yes, you are one of its biggest advocates here.
Prizes all around! Tomorrow, I’m going to really challenge everyone…????
???? I probably should start now – is it Ummagumma? ????
You are too much, ????
Ha! No, but the original Ummagumma is related to my upcoming Friday clue in a very oblique way????
My scent’s bottle looks like a black Easter egg with a pretty gold top, with a mother and daughter drawn on the front of bottle.
This week has been crazy with doctors appointments with my parents. I have just been listing my scent of the day, and not even having time to read all of the fun hints for the guessing game. I have spare time today, so I get to play !! Yay !!
Arpege 🙂
Yes 🙂
Fun clues, and that is a beautiful bottle. 🙂
I mixed Annick Goutal Neroli with Artisan Parfumeur Ambre Extreme. Not bad at all 🙂
We’re layering twins today!
Guessing game: I am wearing this perfume three days early.
Sunday Cologne?
nope… even more specific than the day of the week 🙂
No. 19?
Yes! 19 August for her birthday.
Yay I got one right! ????
Posting before I get really busy today!
I’ve been in a sweet mood this week continuing with this sweet citrus floral gourmand. It’s a limited edition flanker from a legendary perfume that knows how to flanker. The fragrance it’s based on was released in 2003, and according to my perfume’s name I’m seasonally appropriate.
Is it one of the Omnia flankers?
My guess was Paraiba!
No, not Bvlgari.
I see I made a mistake. I meant to say legendary perfume HOUSE. The perfume itself isn’t legendary. ????
Also, I’ve never seen this perfume mentioned here so this may be a toughie.
Terracotta Voile d’Ete?
No, but you got the perfume house right!
Oh, and you got the seasonal name right!
Quand Vient l’Ete?
Nope, not that one kpaint.
Givenchy irresistible summer bloom?
No, it’s a different house (Regina guessed the correct house above) and the season is in French.
L’Instant de Guerlain Fleur de Mandarine?
Oh so close! It is a L’Instant flanker just not that one.
I’m wearing L’Instant d’Une Ete, which smells so lovely and I’m almost certain I’ll never find again after this decant is gone.
My SOTD refers to a paint color, not a place. I’d rather be wandering the streets of Italy looking at frescos(and maybe catching a whiff of one in progress), but this perfume will have to do for now.
Sienna?
Nope, but nice color!
Orris Ochre?
Monserrat?
You got it!!
Hi all! SOTD is Cool Water Wave by Davidoff. I wanted something fruity and light today. 🙂
I wish I could ride my favorite rollercoasters in honor of Rollercoaster day. My favorites are Kumba, Montu and SheiKra (the beginning of that ride begins with a straight drop into a loop), all at Bush Gardens (and they are loop coasters).
I always loved Cool Waters…back in the day when it was new and very few were wearing it.
I cannot do rollercoasters at all….you are very brave!
Ever since I was a kid I’ve loved them, my husband refuses – he worries about neck and head injuries. I always joke that I have very few brains to rattle and I’ll be just fine! 😆
My smoothie today was kefir, spinach, oranges, limes and mangoes. It was zippy and very tasty.
I love roller coasters but I’m learning that as I get older I can only do a couple in one day, otherwise my neck gets sore and my head aches from all the rattling around. 😉
Planning on mid afternoon smoothie of spinach strawberries and kiwis 🙂
I’m with you on loving roller coasters. However, it’s been ages since I’ve been on one. I honestly don’t know how my body would respond to all those G-forces.
I can’t ride them anymore — have weird motion disturbances (a kind of vertigo, I guess) for hours after.
Unfortunately, I can’t do roller coasters either. It’s the height thing. Generally it’s that first high climb that makes me want to claw my way out of the seat… (I freaked out in Soaring over California at Disneyland’s California Adventure….it’s not even a real ride…it’s a movie!!)
I can do Space Mountain though. In the front car. Why? It’s dark, and I can’t see how high I am. I love the speed, just not the height.
It’s been years since I’ve been on a rollercoaster, I wonder how I’d react now or if I’d get verdigo…
I can’t think of a good clue, so…. wearing Hermès Narcisse Bleu from a sample. I plan to reapply all day and then hear the thunk at the end of the day.
I really need to go through the samples… I have so many and rarely try them.
Rolled $360 in quarters the other evening in front of the TV. Now I have to haul them to the bank. Ugh.
That is an impressive amount of quarters!
Yeah…the last time I did this was three years ago.
Oh and by the way… may I just share that one of the FINEST meals I had was at the old Metrodome in Minneapolis. A brat with sauerkraut and mustard, popcorn and a giant Gatorade. I still remember it. 1992 Final Four. Worst hangover ever. Best cure ever.
Gatorade really does the trick when you’re dehydrated, doesn’t it? I distinctly remember drinking a yellow Gatorade around mile 35 of a 40-mile bike ride (at the time I was pretty physically unprepared for that) and it was like nectar from the gods.
$360 in quarters? Wow! That must have been a heavy container! ????
I bow down to your quarter collecting! I read years ago about a couple who saved jars of change and eventually had enough $ for a trip to Europe.
I get antsy once my (massive) jar gets about 1/2 full, but do empty it out for travel purposes. I cash in my change when I travel and usually have enough for a couple hundred bucks in pocket change.
I suspect it won’t stack up so quickly now that I’m living in Cleveland. The parking meters here require coins (!) thus one must carry change. But the meters even take NICKELS (!!!) My H & I crack up every time we have to pay a meter 😉
None of these are mine… all my husband’s… but I’m the cheapo in the family, so it makes me twitch to see money laying around….
We have quarter-rolling parties twice a year. It makes a nice little bump in our savings account. One year we had over $600 in coin lying around!
My husband tends to leave it in piles around the house so I scoop it up and throw it in a jar. Come to think of it, the piles may have been in response to my calling him the “human vending machine” since it used to be constantly falling out of his pockets.
Good job you! All I can say is thank God for coin counters in banks where there is no fee for using if you have an account at that bank. My dad COLLECTED state quarters and he bought state quarter books, filled up and gave away many books (every teenager working at Wegmans got one, as did young children and grandchildren of workers, my cousins and their kids, etc.) . Theoretically, what we found around the house, in drawers, cabinets and under the stairs storage could fill 1,000 more books…no joke.
Yeah…what was up with the state quarters? I have a set, as do my sisters. I rolled $200 of them at my parents’ house this last visit…. I do need to find out about coin counters for the rest of the smaller coins….
I could seriously go for a good bratwurst right now.
My perfume is one of the classics and my fav. I’m sure you’ll have no trouble guessing ha!
You and me both on the bratwurst…I am seriously craving one right now…and Shalimar.
I’ve got a craving too…
Chanel No. 5?
Shalimar, of course.
Shalimar of course!
Picture this: a tall cool drink made up of citrus, coconut, ginger and mint sits on a table in the shade, looking out over a beach in Brazil. What’s my SOTD?
Wish I were there. Having my own bummer of a week; husband’s broken arm surgery is postponed due to infection. And we’re in trouble with workman’s comp for having had the audacity to get a prescription filled without asking permission first. &%#& that. Don’t ever get injured on the job, people.
RIP Aretha.
Still Life in Rio?
We have a winner!
A trip to Rio, please ????
And sorry about your husband’s setback. Yeah, workman’s comp is a huge bureaucratic nightmare. I had a former colleague go through that after a fall at work and got the play-by-play. She did get a decent comp settlement in the end, though
No possibility of a comp settlement here. Since he’s a volunteer. No pay. All we want is for them to stop obstructing the medical process. 🙁
Oy vey.
Speedy recovery to your husband.
Hope the infection clears up soon. I think some of the worker’s comp case workers are on a power trip.
RIP Aretha. I Googled around and learned that Aretha liked to wear both Bijan for Women and Bijan DNA perfume, and was once seen buying 8 bottles of Clive Christian fragrance.
I’m wearing En Passant for a cool-ish (only 80 degrees!) and damp desert morning.
You smell great! (Although I’m so late your En Passant is surely long gone.)
Have a day off and am working on the Orange Sanguine, as I can re-spritz at will.
SotD = from an old French house, traditional cologne done “mojito style,” a hint of mint makes it great.
Wish I could visit Corsica to find out why it’s furiosa. Everyone, you smell marvelous.
The only cologne that I can think of with mint is Eau de Guerlain.
Eau de Guerlain is the one! 😀
IMHO the best cologne ever!
Guerlain Homme?
oooh, good guess! I just looked up the notes, will try Guerlain Homme next time I see a tester bottle. 😀
Herba Fresca
very close to Eau de Guerlain! I like Herba Fresca a lot. 😀
A mojito style cologne sounds perfect for sweaty summer weather! ????
yes, Eau de Guerlain is very nice for cooling off. 😀
RIP Aretha Franklin. What an incredible voice and SPIRIT.
I wish I were wearing a perfume that could honor her, but I am not sure an Aretha perfume would be…a good summer pick.
Instead, I’m wearing a lovely, woody, incense-y neroli (well, the Internet says neroli; I get a hearty citrus blend). It’s from a French line that taught me that colognes are not just for men.
I think Project Look Nice is floundering a bit–it was a struggle to put on a lace-graced blouse, floral skirt, and leather belt. It was a super struggle to take off my socks so I could wear snakeskin flats instead of sneakers. It’ll be all I can do to dress nicely through tomorrow, I think. Monday will likely see a return to my usual dress code. Sigh.
Is it from Atelier Cologne?
Yup! Holyneroli got the exact perfume from them below 🙂
AC Bois Blonds!
You got it! I can count on the person with neroli in her username to get this one right 🙂
😀
something from Hermes?
Nope, it’s Atelier Cologne Bois Blonds as holyneroli guessed above 🙂
Hey, propers to you for giving it a shot for the whole week!
Thanks, Jalapeno! I’ve appreciated your encouragement and practical advice 🙂
What a voice, what spirit, and what LEGS!!
Oh, yes. Those too will be missed.
SOTD = Handsome Guy Wearing Seersucker Suit Sipping Lemon Tea
Today, I experimented with layering. First up is a gender bender (for me since I am a ????????) from an eponymous fragrance house and my perfume name includes a reference to not noir. I then paired this with a perfume with a series of colorful nose to tail images. What am I wearing? ????
I feel like a vampire. It is so hot with the sun shining brightly that when I went out to get lunch, my skin hurt where the sun hit it!
Allure homme edition blanche and Assam of India?
(1) Great guesses!
(2) I only just realized that your icon is an elephant, and your username is FearsMice. So cute! I never made the connection before.
😀 😀
You are 100% correct!
Bet you smelled great in that combo!
It was really good!
“Handsome Guy Wearing Seersucker Suit Sipping Lemon Tea”
“Allure homme edition blanche and Assam of India”
You’re a perfumista genius. I look at those words and imagine many people would find them utterly incomprehensible!
H. gave awesome clues 😀
Weather is supposed to change again in the next 24 to 48 hours. ????
And for the worse!
I spent yesterday with a chubby power player.
Today I’m with a Dominican designer who was no grouch.
Fun CP!
Fat Electrician and Esprit de Oscar?
99% there for 100% credit. I’m in the original Oscar de la Renta, but I guess there wouldn’t have been any way to differentiate it from Esprit given my clues.
I grant you a trip to Rio! 😉
Ha! Thanks???? I think I associate you with Esprit for some reason.
I wear Esprit more often (good memory!) but woke up thinking about the original for some reason. I love all of the versions, particularly the vintage parfum. But, naturally, rarely wear any of them 😉
great clues for a grand perfume 🙂
I adore Oscar!
Clue #3 for my SOTE: Wreaking havoc in another classic tuberose…
It’s not Fracas, is it?
Indeed it is!
Hurray, I got one!
Late to the game today!
Testing Clinique My Happy Peace and Jasmine today. I LOVE it, but it’s so fleeting on my skin that I’m not sure I’ll buy it. I do have a lock on the Cocoa & Cashmere one the next time I’m in Belk….
Wait for the gwp event.
Always! LOL! 🙂
Checking in late on a funny, hectic day.
Continuing my theme of making you guess based on bad Basenotes reviews: “My husband made fun of me, for wearing this. He said, ‘You smell like our old basement.’ Yes, this is true.”
An extra clue: I am wearing it in honor of the thing that’s made my day so hectic, as its discovery has resulted one animal getting a trip to the vet and another animal, sealed inside several baggies, getting a trip to the diagnostic lab at our local university. (Don’t worry, my pet is fine!)
Bat? Glad your pet is fine. Sounds like the other animal didn’t fare as well ????
“Rodent”? No, wait, there’s probably no such perfume. So how about “Bat.”
You’re both right! Yes, the bat alas was dead when we found it, and by “found it” I mean “had it proudly displayed to us”. I like bats, so it’s sad – no idea how it got in here, but there have been rabid bats in our area lately so we are taking every precaution.
Good to hear that your pet is fine! Too bad about the poor bat, though. ????
Joining in the CP today. My scent is from a niche house. Its name is both very accurate and totally exaggerated. What is it?
Forgot to also add in my RIP for Aretha Franklin. A bit of an eerie coincidence… the radio station I was listening to this morning had just played some of her songs right before they broke the news of her passing.
Fcking Fabulous, obviously.
(I kid. Kinda. ;))
Nope, not a Tom Ford. Good guess, though!
The “niche” reference threw it. But I still had to throw in my guess 😉
Oh, I know: Secretions Magnifiques!
(This time I really am kidding 🙂 )
????
FM Outrageous! comes to mind, though the name suits the price more than the scent IMO.
Not something from FM, either.
Green, Green, Green and…Green?
Sorry, that’s not it.
Vetiver Extraordinaire?
No, but you have hit on the idea behind my first hint. The perfume name has 2 words, and one of them describes what it smells like.
Hmmm… L’Artisan Ambre Extreme?
Sorry, the perfume is not from L’Artisan. Good guess, though!
Tauer Incense Extreme
You are half right! It is not a Tauer, but it is an incense perfume.
Annick Goutal Encens Flamboyant ????????☕
Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner!! ????✨????????
And it is fantastic in hot weather!
????????????????????
YAY !!
I love incense scents in hot weather.
Good job! And I have a partial bottle of this…
My other name could be Lunar Orris but someone decided to put other ingredient in my name. I’m dressed in black and I have a jewellery background.
What am I?
Moonlight Patchouli VC&A?
Jinx! You are the queen of this game.
Great minds! I just love a good distraction from work ???? I think I get more wrong than right, though.
Are you a crossword puzzler? It seems like there’s some crossover skill with this game.
Yes, but only Mon-Wed
Yep
Moonlight Patchouli?
Correct
Music makes the people come together
Music makes the bourgeoisie and the rebel
Happy Birthday to the Queen of Pop, and Rest In Peace, Queen of Soul.
SOTD is Fracas, in honor of Madonna.
Aretha, in one of my favorite movie scenes ever:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WY66elCQkYk
M, your tour remixes/mashups are the best. Make us dance, girl:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2fpBMl3aGE
@Aretha: I especially love the pink slippers in this. Oh, that voice!
I’m a personal favourite of my French creator, but my name isn’t right. It’s not very descriptive. I ought to be called “Heaven of Honeybees.”
By Kilian Back to Black?
No, but a good guess! (Come to think of it, that is an unapt name.
I don’t have any honey in me, either. I’m the source of the honey!
Ahh I wasn’t sure if that was the case or not. Back to the drawing board…
Is it by MFK?
We might be thinking along the same lines… Ciel de Gum?
This or Baccarat Rouge 540.
No
No
Yes
APOM!
Le Parfum de Therese?
No
Burberry Brit Sheer. It’s another fly under the radar scent. In summer my other option is Chanel Chance Eau Tendre. Pretty stuff.
Always a good idea to have a couple of “under the radar” scents! ????
I actually thunked a Burberry Brit Sheer Bottle about 5 or 6 summers ago!
I thunked my Premier Figuier yesterday, and then thunked Jo Malone French Lime Blossom today. One more lined up for tomorrow, going to try to come up with a clue and actually post in the morning….
Good job! Two THUNKS in a week!
Perfect! Keep going!
My perfume smells wonderful, and it is named for a flower, but the name means something like “bad house” and I think that jinxed it. It iss now sadly discontinued. What is it?
Floris Malmaison?
Yes you got it!
Malmaison Floris?
You got it too!
