Happy Creamsicle Day! (Yes, it's also Monday's Ugly Little Sister.) What fragrance are you wearing?
I went with Kerosene Unforsaken. Tea at the moment is a Keemun Hao Ya from The Cultured Cup.
Reminder: 8/17 will be Guessing Game Friday, edition 2. Describe your perfume to us, OR, give your perfume the name it ought to have had, and we'll see if we can guess what it is.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2018, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: the Bloomingville Zoe mug is £6.50 at Huh Store.
Guessing game. My SOTD is by L’Artisan, and it is one of their early perfumes. It has a lovely name, but they could just name it ‘Jasmine’ and it would be pretty accurate.
Is it La Haie Fleurie?
Yes! Well done. 🙂
It’s a gorgeous jasmine and you smell wonderful!
I don’t know why, but I never realized La Haie Fleurie was a jasmine! Now I really want to try it – early L’Artisan was so great.
Sometimes it seems too indolic too me, but overall yes – a gorgeous one. For the days when you really want jasmine.
The pour une Ete?
No, Elisa P guessed it (La Haie Fleurie). Actually I have not tried The pour une Ete, and the notes look good.
Ah, good choice! I only ever had a sample, but it is a lovely fragrance. Sadly I dithered about it too long and now it’s practically vanished.
Enjoy your day!
ahhh, that one is so pretty!
Heh, I’m having the opposite reaction as Regina. I also never knew it was a jasmine fragrance, but have always wanted to try it because of the name. Now I think I needn’t bother.
I’m in The Pour un Ete and have forgotten how to get accented e’s on this keyboard. My cuppa this morning is a medium-strength latte.
Lovely! A truly refreshing scent.
Not dressed yet, but am in the remains of Lancôme Oud Bouquet. A blind buy which I swore not to do ever again. Getting some caramel so nice, if in the neighbourhood of Prada Candy. Will test further.
I’m glad to see someone else getting the Candy vibe. To me it’s more creamy though. I don’t get any oud, or bouquet.
So is it nicer or less nice than the Prada?
I prefer Candy. The Oud Bouquet is so sweet on my skin, I can really only wear it in cold weather. I think this one really depends on skin chemistry because some people get alot of oud, and/or rose.
Perfect then.
That’s interesting bc I get oud front and center. But btw the two, I definitely prefer Candy.
That’s two for two, and I already own Candy 🙂
You smell fabulous!
Creamsicle Day! Gosh, I can’t remember the last time I had one.
I’m taking L’Artisan Caligna for a test drive today (Thanks Jalapeno!)
So far it’s not a love, but I do like it, and prefer it to Philosykos, which is the only other fig scent I’ve tried. Caligna has a fresh piney-sagey-woodsiness that’s especially appealing in this heat and humidity.
Today’s tea: Stash Chai White.
I haven’t had one in years myself! Not sure I’d like one now.
I love Philosykos, but I also really appreciate Caligna. You smell lovely!
Neroli, I had something approximating a creamsicle last summer–a mix of soft-serve vanilla ice cream and soft-serve orange sherbet mixed together by the machine. It was DIVINE. Now I want one again.
YUM. There’s a frozen yogurt place near me that might have something like that…
Hey, I’m glad to hear that Caligna found a home where it is liked! It was a scrubber on me, unfortunately. Had one of those “exploding” notes with my chemistry that just took over.
Tendre
Awesome! You smell great! 😀
????????????????
Wearing Diorling EdC from a NIB bottle I was gifted over the weekend. I’ve actually never even seen Diorling in person so I was really thrilled when the “vintage Dior perfume” was in fact one of the rarer ones! It smells phenomenal, light brown leather and a chypre smile. Doesn’t last long but I’m not complaining!
Wow, heck of a gift! I recently tried this for the first time too and liked it very much!
Right? I thought it was for sure going to be Miss Dior.
I do like it but not enough to pay eBay prices to try the higher concentrations.
What a fantastic gift!!
I was very grateful. It looks pristine.
I was very sad when I tried it: vintage Diorling is so beautiful but so hard to find in a good condition!
You smell great!
It’s a quite elegant leather, isn’t it? It reminds me of Caleche but a bit heavier on the leather.
Wow, what a lovely gift!
I’m still a bit shocked too be honest.
Wow! That’s a gorgeous surprise.
I’m already plotting a return gift! 🙂
Fantastic gift and gift giver! Wow!
Creamsicles always remind me of summers visiting my grandparents…..Ma always had creamsicle pushpops ready for us! YUM!
Smelling nice and summery/beachy in J Lo’s Deseo. This is such a great scent at an awesome price! Lasts all day too….
Those pushpops were the best!
Pushpops!!!????????
“Creamsicle pushups”… what a blast from the past!
Autocorrect, that should have been “pushpops”! Quit putting words in my mouth! ????
Wearing Manguier Metisse today
Is your bottle (or sample from) white or black bottle? I remember liking the original one, long time ago, but since then it was reformulated, and I don’t want to get it any longer.
White bottle and I’ve had it since before Henri Bendel’s closed
I still can’t forgive myself for not getting it back then. Oh, well… 🙂

My perfume already has the EXACT name it ought to have, which I learned recently from someone here means “headstrong.”
Cabochard
You know it! Seriously could there BE a better match of name to scent?
NOPE 😉
Cabochard!
cm8 beat me! 😀
LOL! we must have been typing at the same time 😉
Love Cabochard! Are you wearing vintage? I’ve never smelled the modern stuff!
Yes, vintage – that stuff is plentiful so I haven’t tried the modern yet either!
You smell wonderful!
I’m hooked on the old parfum too. I am morbidly curious though.
My favorite version of the creamsicle was Baskin Robbins daiquiri ice + vanilla ice cream. Mmmm.
Guessing game: This company’s not-terribly-different take on this variety of flower from Iran. But it’s pretty and I enjoy it!
TDC, I miss Violet?
That’s not the one, but nice guess!
Kashan Rose!
Yup!
How is this one? It’s gotten good reviews? Is it
I love it. It’s a fresh, light, citrusy rose with a hint of spice (mostly cardamom).
Im also curious about this one as I adore roses. Is it worth it?
I was gifted a decant by a kind NSTer and also got a decant in a swap. If you like fresh roses it’s worth sampling at least. It’s one that needs to be sprayed generously since it’s light.
If you please, how does it compare with Grace Coddington?
Similar, but Kashan is maybe less fruity sweet and has the spice note. It also strikes me as vaguely creamy at times. I like both, own full bottles of neither, but if I were to buy one, it’d be the TDC (that kitty bottle, though????). I suppose one could have both if one couldn’t have enough fresh roses in one’s life.
Well Elisa, my bottle will be up for swap again at the next swap. ????
Oh man I loved daiquiri ice. Never tried it with vanilla!
Yeah, it was good stuff, the taste and the color! I never see it there anymore. It was splendid alongside a scoop of vanilla.
I only ever tried it when I was waaaaaaay to young for it. So naturally, I didn’t like it (I think I was about 8 at the time, and loved the color. The taste was a disappointment for a kid who really wanted the bubble gum ice cream.) Now that I’d probably be into it, it’s long gone.
I liked it as a kid, myself, and probably picked it because of the color initially. I didn’tknow what a Daiquiri was. But I also liked pickled herring and black Sanka, ha! I’ve moved on from Sanka, though.
Oh I LOVED the Baskin-Robbins Daiquiri ice in high school! It was my favorite flavor.
I am in Zoologist Camel, thanks to a fab sample pack from Regina (thanks, mon ami!). Thus far, I am loving it. Reminiscent of Arabie, but more easily wearable (more floral, smoothly blended, and no cumin).
I’m again drinking Betty’s Tearoom Blend, and wishing for some of Mrs. McCarthy’s award-winning strawberry scones.
That is one of the ones I upgraded to a travel spray! Glad you like it.
From the sample stash today. I never see this one mentioned. It’s a recent, straight up vanilla. Not much else to say about it, except that my favorite George Clooney movie has a similar and cooler name. Oh and THUNK ????
Eau d’Italie Morn to Dusk?
You got it!
I’ve been wanting to try that one ever since it came out. Apparently no FBW for you?
Not for the price. I like it, and I think it’s probably better sprayed. I really just get vanilla. I would rather be wearing Dior Addict.
You’re doing pretty good on the THUNK count lately! ????
Guessing game: very nice perfume with 3 simple ingredients, and you can use the bottle to sand off callouses from your heels.
CDG Concrete
wow, good guess, but no!
That was my first guess as well 🙂
Sand and Sable?
nope 🙂 I like the idea of using sand as an exfoliator – by the way, why is Sable in the name of this perfume anyway, is it supposed to be a contrast?
Not sure. It’s a beachy scent to me!
Taklamakan by SHL?
No, but that top does look like it could be a good exfoliant!
None of my guesses fits the “3 ingredients” clue but for the second part – how about Alexa Lixfeld 001 https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Alexa-Lixfeld/001-8013.html ? 🙂
No – but my goodness there’s a lot of perfume in the world isn’t there?
Answer: Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black
Gabriel
Thunk!
Chai tea, homemade thanks to my FIL
What did you think of Gabrielle? It was too sweet for me.
It’s sweet, yes
I am not shopping for a full bottle
I guess you have decided to join the THUNK IT UP team 🙂 Jealous of your chai…..
I am wearing a modern version of a perfume from a famous French house but Je ne parle pas francais.
The house is also a place that I’d like to visit.
Correction… the name of the perfume is a place I’d like to visit, not the house.
Is the house Caron?
Montaigne for St. Michel de Montaigne?
No, no, no, nope. ☺
LOL! I am bad at this 😉
Paris? YSL is a french house.
The house is not French but the perfume is reminiscent of a famous scent from the house.
Again, no clue about the perfume, but thanks for your cast iron info yesterday. I had seasoned and cleaned it exactly as you suggested with flax seed oil????????
So happy to help!
Just to clarify: your perfume, with a place name, is not from a French house but smells like a version of a famous French perfume?
I want to get that part right before I start obsessing over it ????
You got it!
The place is a sort of utopian. A place that I wish existed.
Ok, well, I’ll take a shot. Hiram Green Shangri La (for Mitsouko)? Though you can only only visit there in your mind…
Ha! YES, smart girl.
That was a fun one and I spent more time thinking about that then about work today, lol!
Initially, I was just going to say it’s a modern Mitsouko but that would’ve been way too easy.
A modern Mitsouko sounds intriguing. Not the right weather for me to try anything like that, though. I figure in a couple of months the weather will be much better.
It really wasn’t too heavy today because I sprayed lightly but it isn’t normally a scent I’d wear during summer. Remove the oakmoss from Mitsouko and voila. Although it does have the HG base but even so, it’s remarkably similar. It can still be found in travel spray size, which is what I have.
I’ve been playing with the Sugandhco oils coin-op so generously shared with me (thank you!) and have ended up in Jashn-e-oudh
(“The four facets take turns expressing woody oudh, sweet amber, spicy saffron and warm musk. None of these facets attempts to outshine the others.”)
I’m both wearing and drinking it as it transferred to my teacup somehow 😉 The opening reminds me a bit of SSS Winter Woods, as it is cool and airy.
Happy Monday.
Monday?
I want what she’s having.
????
Ha!!!!
You probably don’t. I’m just really tired and have been fighting a sinus infection that makes me super spacey.
Also my H took yesterday off for our anniversary weekend, making it feel like Sunday, so…
…um, I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but…it’s tuesday.????
Oh, wait! It’s Tuesday. LOL
That must have been SOME weekend.
oh yay! I really like Jashn-e-oudh, but it is very potent!
Here’s the important question: What do you think of Musk Amber?
I didn’t love it. You?
I HATED it. It was an instant scrubber and didn’t get any better. It was like some furry animal had crawled onto my wrist and DIED. Persolaise loved it and I find that bewildering. He raved about it and I just couldn’t get it off my skin fast enough.
guessing game: this ambergris-saffron-rose transcends a name that would make Edward Said spin in his grave.
Aye, the latter part of that clue really doesn’t narrow it down much…
Aramis Calligraphy Rose?
nope, but good guess on the smell side of it 🙂
Hm…
Two guesses, both probably wrong:
Montale So Amber
Roja Dove O The Exclusive Parfum
sorry, neither of these…this is way more heavy handed on the naming
a bit more info, because, yeah, there are an awful lot of cringemaking names around, and saffrony roses… this is by their house perfumer Thierry Wasser and was released as one of three.
Ah! Encens Mythique D’Orient?
huzzah! yes. That’s the one (and it’s a real favourite of mine)
This Orange Flower is from an independent perfumer who has beautiful shots of the desert on his website and is known for being very generous with his samples. Another sample thunked!
Dame Perfumery Orange Blossom and YAY for the sound of thunk!
OR Passionfruit, Orange Blossom & Vetiver.
Yes and yes!
I finished another sample today. This one was one of the first samples that I ever bought from Luckyscent, many years ago. Miss Marisa from Ebba. It’s not quite a scrubber, but close. No wonder it took so long to finish it.
Wow, long time since I even thought of that one! Used to be popular on MakeupAlley. I always thought it was pleasant…do you think it could have been a scrubber just from age?
Actually, the top note was very melony, although melon is not listed as a note. The dry-down is innocuous, but pleasant, and rather fresh. I think that I just didn’t enjoy the top notes on this one. I don’t need a decant.
Interesting. I honestly can’t remember exactly what it smelled like except fruity.
Guess: this fragrance, described as a “spicy oriental,” was created by the storied perfumer of a storied house and given a name suggesting — to me at least — that it reaches back a lot further than in fact it does (merely the early ’90s). It’s rarely mentioned (or worn, I dare say) to boot.
Maybe Guerlain Heritage?
Impressive.
Is the house Imaginary Authors?
I spent a lot of last night trying to find the names of fragrances so that was kind of fun!
My SOTD is the muse within the collection of a small but rather longstanding French niche house. It’s a soft patchouli-rose and one of the few of its kind I will wear in summer.
Divine L’Inspiratrice?
Yep!
What I am wearing today:
“The fragrance brings notes of cypress, turpentine, camphor, cedar, thyme, pine, Georgian wood, frankincense, moss and vetiver.”
Well thats what fragrantica says 🙂
Hi guys, missed you last week. I ve been so busy,
I hope you are all well and smelling fab of course! 🙂
oooh! the cdg hinoki?
(I have been hankering after that after a very quick sniff… if it is that, how does it wear?)
Yess! Hinoki
With two sprays, sillage starts out moderate and after a few hours it gets somewhat softer.
It lasts at least 6 hours on me.
I wear it year round. Its pretty versatile. My husband sometimes steals it.
Fille en Aiguilles?
Nope,
Its Hinoki, also a pine-y vibe but less sweet 🙂
I am wearing Turquoise by Regime des Fleurs. To me it has a nice late summer dried flower kind of scent.
I just happen to be wearing Eau Aimable at the moment. So I will add a spritz of vanilla in honor of creamsicle day. Yum! ????
Nice!
I’m an old French book of spells.
What am I today?
Grimoire (Anatole Lebreton)?
Ding ding ding! You’re right
Ik just wanted to know what your fragrance was yesterday?
Liquides Imaginaires Dom Rosa, that smells like champagne and was inspired by Dom Perignon.
Oh, yay! I got it right, but late yesterday ????????
Hi all,
My SOTD is Dior’s Addict (from the older bottle). Boy am I glad I used only one spritz! This one grows more fragrant on me as the day goes on.
Today’s breakfast is a Peach smoothie with kefir, spinach, peaches, strawberries and flax seeds.
A neighbor gave me apples from their tree, so I spent last night making a few batches of apple dumplings. This house smells so good this morning – it smelled of apples, vanilla and cinnamon.
Yum! I wanna come over 🙂 I had a “mango Lassi” for the first time last week at an Indian restaurant. I had never heard of a lassi, but it basically sounds like yogurt & mango & ice. I wasn’t going to get one, but we were splitting the bill, so….
Love mango lassies and they help to cut the heat of the spices
I adore mango lassi’s – I love the creamy sweet goodness. One of my favorite restaurants serves a rich one, and their chai tea is also stellar (probably because it’s sweetened with loads of honey and they use real cream in the mix).
Now I want Indian food for lunch!
I loooove mango lassi!!! A good one should also have some lime and salt 🙂 Pretty easy to make at home! Especially if you, like me, want to avoid dilution and therefore don’t use ice (frozen mango chunks work nicely!).
Good to know!
I made blueberry muffins the other night, because blueberries are plentiful and cheap right now. The recipe included a crumb topping and wow, you’re right, that smell of something baking in the oven with sugar and cinnamon is hard to beat!
Yum, blueberry muffins sound great about now! My mom used to make them with a dallop of lemon curd in the middle. 🙂
Wow! Look at all the comments already! Just rolling out of bed out here in the Wild, Wild West.
I’ll jump on board the CP today, but keep in mind I stink at games. Since I also stink at describing perfumes, I’ll just describe the bottle.
SOTD come in a hefty bottle with a fancy cap that reminds me of a gilded ornate onion dome. The perfumers name is three letters followed by three numbers. This particular scent is deliciously warm and cozy, ambery, and benzoiny- may have some laudanum in there too, who knows?! It would probably be considered a cold weather scent by most.
Off to catch up on comments and enjoy my coffee✌????
Taklamakan, of course. And it’d be even more popular if it contained laudanum ???? One of my favorite autocorrects.
Holy cow! Didn’t even notice that! Yes, you are the winner on all fronts. It would indeed be a hot commodity if it had laudanum! If I had a prize, I’d send it to you…! I can loan you T-Rex for a week or so…I’m sure your cats could whip her into shape within the first hour ????
Oh! I’d love a week of T-Rex???? One of my cats would love her, I’m sure, since she’s dog-like herself. The other would be cowering under the bed.
That was a truly funny autocorrect that I did not notice until I read ElisaP’s reply to you. Then I LOL’ed on the couch.
I NEVER catch those auto corrects! I’m really not a grammatical ignoramus, but typing on this iPhone sure makes me feel like it????
Wait. Maybe I am and just can’t face myself…????
Yesterday is was light andy airy in Idylle Love Blossom and then a bit heavier in Misia for bed time. The Misia thunked when I finished spraying….
Today I’m saying hello (or goodbye) with a tropical flower. (As easy a clue as you’ll see this week…)
Off to visit Pooh and Christopher Robin later today.
Aloha Tiara? That one is very popular in our house.
Yep. Aloha Tiare.
My clues: Saguaro, Petrified Forest, Grand Canyon, Sedona.
Why is there so much work when you go back to work? Aggh!
Mojave Ghost?
Hope the work flattens out a bit. Hang in there!
Is it the new Prouenza Schouler Arizona?
You are correct! It’s Arizona.
I am named after a famous person – well more like an alternative persona of that famous person. Who am I?
The first thing that came to mind was Cumming, but that’s rare so probably wrong.
Could be one of the many Andy Warhol-inspired scents? Or Maria Candida Gentile Rrose Selavy?
You are right!! MCG Rrose Selavy – another one of the 3 Luca Turin 5 stars I have
Rrose Selavy?
You are right
SOTD = Iris Vetiver
Sprayed lavishly from a cut glass bottle that comes with its own pouch. My name is that of a song but for the life of me, I don’t see the connection. The price is not for the faint of heart but I’m worth every penny for my human.
Anybody of any shape or size can wear whatever they want. This is my unsolicited advice to petites with a long torso and short legs. One way to guarantee that you would look even shorter: pair a below the waist shirt with knee length shorts in a contrasting color. You can fool the eyes by: wearing the same color for your top and bottom, wear bottoms with vertical stripes or wear tops with a peplum.
Commuting Woes No. 449:
A guy standing in front of the guy sitting next to me had pants so loose at the waist that when we arrived at the last stop, his pants fell down to his knees. Thank God he was wearing longish loose gray underpants. Oy!
I finished a jar of Solstice Scents Creamy Whipped Soap in Maine Moon. THUNK! And guys, I cannot buy any more of these as I have plenty…well, ummm, I may allow myself 2 jars when the fall scents are released. That’s it. No more. Keep me honest!
Well, that must have been interesting!
In SF, I’ve seen all sorts of views/sights. And personal grooming on transit as well. O_o
My brother used to live in the Sunset district and I used to take the N Judah downtown. Perhaps I was enamired as a visitor and easily forgave the personal grooming foibles!
I don’t know what your SOTD is, but it sounds wonderful, so I look forward to finding out!
I think Tiffanie’s got it but we’ll wait for her guess!
Named for a song . . . could it be the musician-artist has a “royal” title?
You’re on the right track!
What is whipped soap?
It is Soap with oils added and whipped to the consistency of an airier body butter. The texture is between Redi-Whip (out of a can) and light whipped cream that comes in a small plastic tub.
My sister is a huge fan of Solstice Scents.
I bet the pants guy won’t even blink or change how he wears his pants….
I remember you mentioning that your sister likes Solstice Scents.
As to pants guy, literally just dropped the bag he was holding and non-chalantly pulled up his pants.
Poor Mister mistaken pants, and his poor fashion choices.
Today I sat way too close to a smartly dressed middle aged man who spent fifteen minutes excavating the upper reaches of his nasal cavity. And, yes, consuming the results. Vile.
Wow, that description actually triggered my gag reflex!
Egads! The flickers are just as bad but really, EWWWWWWW!
No!!????
Yay for your soap THUNK! Keep it going!
As for your commuting follies, all I can say is it’s a good thing that guy was wearing underwear, or he would have mooned you! Yikes! ????
Oh believe me, I’ve seen my share of b-tt crack of both genders although they all look alike ( ‘ ).
If just realized you literally meant mooning as in the whole enchilada. Thanks but no thanks.
Yep, that’s exactly what I meant!
I meant “I” just realized…stupid fat fingers…
No one guessed it?? What was it?
I’m pretty sure tiffanie would have guessed it right. I wore Prada Purple Rain…oh so good!
I guessed it too before I scrolled to see your answer! I’ve never even tried it but have read enough about it on here.
I still owe you an email!
yes, that’s what I was thinking! Fun perfume riddle and a great scent. 😀
Yesterday was very difficult so today I took no chances: I went with LPRN Couture, a solid favorite and one that never disappoints. My day is going much better. I credit the perfume.
Sorry yesterday was stinko for you. I’m glad Couture is working for you today ????
A good perfume can certainly make a day better!
Glad to hear that today was better for you.
Oy, glad today is better than yesterday!
My scent is from a not-very-niche niche line, and was one of the first perfumes I ever fell in love with! Its most prominent note is a Middle Eastern spice made of the dried pistils of crocuses. There, this is an easy one 🙂
Today is Day Two of Operation Dress Better. As a scientist/engineer, I’ve skated by on jeans/t-shirts for the past four years or so. I miss looking nice! So I’m trying to make an effort to wear nicer clothes (my clothing is protected in lab by a clean room suit). Today, I’m wearing a flared black flowered skirt, a fitted blue, grey, and gilt blouse, and even earrings! Let’s see how long I can keep this up.
TF Noir de Noir?
And I’ve gone in the opposite direction, clothing wise. I started out looking very businesslike and professional, but it didn’t last. Though I can’t wear jeans, but I’ve gone more casual.
Haha. No one cares what I wear to work. I have gone through a very comfortable leggings-as-pants phase and no one has said anything except “Your leggings look so comfortable! and they have pockets! Where are they from?” I sometimes wonder if I could just roll in in pajamas and uncombed hair. Would someone at that point pull me aside and ask me to dress more appropriately? I kind of doubt it.
(And I hear great things about Noir de Noir, but I have yet to try it! I’m wearing Safran Troublant, as LizzieB guessed below 🙂 )
Oh, yes, ST! That would be the obvious choice ???? NdN is more rose-forward than ST, anyway. It’s nice.
I’m mostly in hospital patient units at work, and it kind of shocks me to see how people dress in the hospital environment these days. Female residents wearing uber short skirts or leggings as pants, plunging necklines, spaghetti straps etc. They dress like they’re going out clubbing!
But if I could wear PJs to work, I probably would…
Safran Troublant?
I’ll 2nd that guess!
You’re both right!
Yay!
Ding ding ding, that’s the one! 🙂
SotD x 2 = kumquat-jasmine-banana-ylang-vanilla creamsicle
Layered two of JCE’s scents, a garden plus an essence. This combination smells nice.
Will also do an Atelier Creamsicle with Orange Sanguine + Vanille Insensee later today. 😉
Have a terrific Tuesday, NSTers.
Let Jardin de Monster Like + Vanilla Galante????????????
Let not let…. spell check taking over ????
OMG it did it again!!!! LE LE LE…. take that spell check!!!
And it’s Li
I give up…. Monsieur not monster
And this is why I don’t use my phone LOL ????
???? That was awesome, though!
Thank you for that….
Persistence is a virtue, LOL!
And you are correct, it’s M. Li + VG for the win today. 🙂
My LOLLLLLLLL of the day!!????????????❤️❤️✌????
A kumquat-jasmine-banana-ylang-vanilla creamsicle sounds delicious! I’d love to try that ice cream. ????
I’m in the very last dregs of the Cierge de Lune sample I tried to finish up last week. I had to use it to the last drop lol. I think it is so pretty but I probably will not spring for a FB. There are other things I like more.
Trying to get through this Tuesday! Ugh! Also, today is my 30 day no drinking mark. I do feel better and do think it changed my relationship with alcohol. I’ve only dropped a couple of pounds, so still not as many as I’d hoped, but it’s been a good experiment!
Yay. You made it to the end!!! And a couple of pounds is better than none
One pound = 3500 calories! Congrats on completing your challenge!
Good to know!
Congratulations Kelly! I think these challenges are fun and useful for gathering information about yourself. I’m not done until August 25 – I also don’t feel like it’s helping me slash calories – but my positives are more even energy, (wine makes me very sleepy) and more self-control, in the sense that I always look forward to a drink to “help me relax” but now I have to rely more on myself
Those are two valuable lessons I learned as well- learning to rely on myself to unwind, not a drink. Also, my sleep is much, much better.
???? I like the ritual of cocktails, so after work I pour some kombucha into a martini glass garnished with lime and ask Alexa to play “twilight time“ ????
Back when I used to go to WeightWatchers, my leader carried in 2 lbs of beef fat. She said she was tired of people complaining that they had only lost 2 lbs that week. She had us look at it and hold it, and asked if anyone wanted to carry that around for the next week, or would we be glad to “lose it”.
Oh, man. That’s some visual, but good point on her part.
Wow, that’s a very effective and visceral demo!
Congratulations KellyC on making it thru your 30 day challenge! ????✨????
Good job, you, KellyC! Are you planning to extend it?
Another day in the mid-90s, sigh. I have a terrible tomato crop this year, it has been so hot the plant either doesn’t produce flowers or the flowers wither before being pollinated. Last year at this time I had pounds and pounds–this year one or two a week. Ah, well, maybe next year. Today’s scent no one would guess, a one man outfit from Chicago–I’m wearing Madhat Mysore Lime. Great lime note that dries down to a lovely creamy sandalwood (real stuff, too).
I haven’t tried that one but love lime and sandalwood. I bet you smell great!
Our garden struggled this year too. I think we replanted cucumbers 3 Xs. I am getting tomatoes and eggplant though.
I love that mug! It sits right in that sweet spot between a mug and a cup.
Figging it up again today in Premier Figuier on a base of Laura Mercier fig body scrub and body creme.
Love figs…to eat and to wear
It’s a mup! I got fresh figs from Costco last Saturday and I am working through the tray …fresh, skinned, halved, with a dollop of balsamic glaze, topped with a crunchy Parmesan crisp. I was tempted to get prociutto bit it is kinda messy to wrap and not healthy.
Have you tried them with goat cheese and honey, baked? So good
No, no and no. I don’t like goat cheese although perhaps I can substitute with Bleu cheese. Honey sounds good as the ones I got this time around are not sweet…and as to baking, maybe I will microwave for a little bit instead. Thanks for the suggestion!
No doubt today is Monday’s Ugly Little Sister!
Smelling good in Arielle Shoshana Eau de Parfum. I found out this morning that I have less than what I was expecting 🙁 No wonder I wore it a lot after getting it from the splitmeet.
It is so fleeting on me. No more than two hours, even on clothes. Even though I love it, I do not know if I would consider a replacement after it is finished . Time will say….
Missing the “THUNK” a lot! 😀
Travel sprays are coming soon….
That’s really good news!
It’s fleeting on me as well… even on clothes.
Good to know that I am not the only one!
I’m happy to offer a large decant from my bottle if you’re interested! madtolive88510 at gee male. 🙂
Thanks for your kind offer Elizabeth! I really appreciate it, but what it is left will still last me until next summer. ????
Sounds like getting a sample of Arielle Shoshana makes more sense than buying a travel spray unsniffed then. I’m not sure I could handle having something last only for 2 hours. 🙁
It is so much fun wearing AS Eau de Parfume. It is so good! You should really try it. I have a scent eating skin, so I am not a good reference. It might last on you!
That’s really good news!
SOTD!…I was the favorite ballgown designer of Carrie Bradshaw, who once read an article from Vogue about me out loud so eloquently,it was almost poetry.I share some DNA with J’Adore, and might be the perfect BWF for Springtime for Johanob…????????♂️✌????????
SOTE!Say my name twice and cast a spell envoking fields of lush violets…????
Oscar de la Renta
Yes!Hehe!Oscar de la Renta,Live in Love,to be spot on.✌????????????
Miss Dior Cherie (2005) ?
Lovetosmellgood got there halfway Bear!????
Great episode.
Galop d’Hermes for me today
wearing fougere d’argent again today. tried out eleventh hour and sale gosse last night. eleventh hour struck me as a personal scent version of a posh fall scented yankee candle, and sale gosse is a nice neroli.
Had a THUNK today with L’Eau d’hived (finished a sample from a generous NST’er). It was very powdery and fleeting. Totally do NOT need a full bottle, yay!
Those of you who want to come to Scotland, OMG, by hook or by crook, get here! It’s wonderful, even in the rain.
Hurray for your THUNK!
I’m just not feeling creative with the CP. Today is L’Eau Corail from Nicolai. Tomorrow I’m going to start with the random pick of samples for the next couple of weeks until school starts in the hope of using SOMETHING up.
Have fun using those samples! I am sure you will enjoy them!
Better weather in my area today. ???? No crazy traffic reports this morning, although there were still a few road closures of some well known low spots by rivers and creeks. I guess I should clarify that because I live where I do, I can get traffic reports from parts of 3 different states.
If any NSTers are familiar with PA geography, it seems that yesterday’s storms got part of The Mall at King of Prussia a little wet. The food court and a couple of stores near it were closed last night. Latest news was that the mall was open today.
SOTD = back in Cristalle EdT. It’s been fantastic in all the stupidly wet and muggy weather.
Cristalle is a gorgeous scent! We actually had some sun this afternoon. A miracle! I hope it clears out for good soon!
Totally agree with you on Cristalle! It might make my FB wishlist after this summer.
Cristalle is full bottle worth for sure. You will not regret a purchase! ????
I saw 2 (2!) rainbows on my way home from the train station. One appeared to be bursting up from the ground with fat fuzzy reverse ROYGBIV (is this even possible?) bands and the other one was the left side of a rainbow.
Yes, reverse rainbows do happen. If the sun is in the right spot with regard to the viewer, they can see 2 rainbows, a primary one and a secondary one.
From Wikipedia: In a primary rainbow, the arc shows red on the outer part and violet on the inner side. This rainbow is caused by light being refracted when entering a droplet of water, then reflected inside on the back of the droplet and refracted again when leaving it.
In a double rainbow, a second arc is seen outside the primary arc, and has the order of its colors reversed, with red on the inner side of the arc. This is caused by the light being reflected twice on the inside of the droplet before leaving it.
Ha! This is more than I ever knew about rainbows! Thanks for the science lesson.
????????
I’m no good at the guessing-game but really enjoy everyone else’s clues and guesses. SOtD is Mousse de Chene. Inspired by it being Creamsicle Day, I made a search of the frozen desserts section when I went to Kroger’s this afternoon, and came home with Kroger Deluxe Orange Cream Ice Cream! It tastes exactly like it should!
Been so busy at work today I haven’t even read posts. I wore Lolita Lempicka Midnight from 2004 and smelled wonderful. Still do.
Funny how perfumes used to last.
Yes, and the LL perfumes were so well done, even the flankers. LL Midnight is interesting through every stage of the development too. It’s good stuff, lots of tonka.
No guessing game here either. I’m wearing a few sprays of Chanel No 19 EDT again. I may have oversprayed last night as I could still smell it today at work, ever so slightly.
When we started our ‘tomato wars’ in the spring, my hubby and I each started off with little 2 inch pots. My hubby’s tomato now stands at least 5 feet tall plus he’s had to tie it back in multiple places so it can stay upright. He does have quite a few tomatoes too. Mine is waaaay smaller, maybe 2 feet tall, but has way nicer tomatoes; better color and bigger size. Will do a taste test tomorrow to crown the “winner”.
