The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 24 May 2018 14 Comments

Scratch-and-sniff stamps! From the USPS: "The U.S. Postal Service’s first scratch-and-sniff stamps will add the sweet scent of summer to letters of love, friendship, party invitations and other mailings when the Postal Service introduces the Frozen Treats Forever stamps June 20 in Austin, TX. [...] The stamps feature illustrations of frosty, colorful, icy pops on a stick. Today, Americans love cool, refreshing ice pops on a hot summer day. The tasty, sweet confections come in a variety of shapes and flavors."

        Why not? Exactly!

I will definitely buy a sheet of smelly stamps and enjoy them, while knowing it will take me years to use even a few.

This reminds me to buy a sheet of Mr. Rogers stamps too. It charms me that they say “forever” on them.

Oh, I did not know there were Mr Rogers stamps! I still have a few things I have to pay by mail so I do go through stamps, although not so many as I used to.

    Too cool.

Stamps remind me of my dad. He kept up with First Day issues and bought them if the subject matter interested him. I used to ask him to mail my swap and split packages and to pick up some of the free flat rate package boxes. One day, he was also proud to have picked up free padded mailers until I pointed out he was accidentally taking the mailers that were for sale without paying!
????. He also used to get several sheets of stamps every few weeks so much so that when we were organizing his papers, we found ~$800 worth of stamps. I gave $200 to a neighbor.

Oh I will definitely be buying these. I buy stamps. I don’t use stamps much, but I do buy them. I bought the recent ones of bio-luminescence and have used quite a few. I love the recent ball ones …⚽️????⚾️???? … and wish I’d bought more. Gave my nephew the Disney villains set.
