Tory Burch Just Like Heaven ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 22 February 2018 21 Comments

Tory Burch Just Like Heaven

Tory Burch has launched Just Like Heaven, a new floral citrus fragrance for women.

Just Like Heaven is an ode to the infinite possibilities in a daydream. It's a kaleidoscopic view of the new and the familiar where Tory draws inspiration and reflects on the past, remains in the present and imagines what is to come. Colorful rhubarb and sparkling mandarin open to reveal potent florals of hyacinth and ylang-ylang.

Additional notes include tonka bean.

Tory Burch Just Like Heaven is available now at Nordstrom, in 50 ($108) and 100 ($138) ml Extrait de Parfum.

Hmmm was hoping it was inspired by The Cure song of the same name, but I suppose that wouldn’t be on-brand for Tory . . .

I thought of The Cure song when I saw this. The Cure deserve better.

She’s pretty irritating, although I think Aerin Lauder has outdone her now.

But we must be in the minority!

Sounds very Irvine. (planned communities, stepford wives)…where nearly every other woman sports her ridiculously priced flip flops in the sun/smog.

Same. I feel like I belong to a different species than the one that’s her demographic.

Hm. Lots of feline yowls going on. Seems to me that notes like rhubarb, hyacinth, Ylang and tonka usually tick a lot of boxes for most perfumistas. I plan to reserve judgment until I get to smell it, assuming it comes to lowly Northwest Arkansas. We do have a nice Sephora, but extrait de parfum screams online only and I don’t know that I’d go so far as to pay money for a sample.

I immediately thought of The Cure too after seeing that name/title. Lots of 80’s music fans commenting on this! ????

I asked the Nordstrom SA this past Monday what’s new and she said Tory Burch. I curled my lip immediately and jtst said my sister liked the first Tory Birch. The SA said this was very different from the first one and offered to make me a sample. Trying to be polite, I said sure. She turned around to get an atomizer and I sprtized it on a test strip. First impression – fruity. She made the sample, gave it to me and I started to walk away, then stopped short because I smelled tonka and thought eh, where is that nice smell coming from? It was Just Like Heaven!

Do like Sapphire and reserve judgment until after giving this a sniff. Now I need to find that sample!

I have yet to wear it so those were only first impressions. I found my sample which was ensconced in tissue and it has gotten powdery and musky so i’ll need to see how it performs when worn.
