Louis Vuitton will launch Le Jour Se Lève, a new fragrance for women, in March.
Le Jour Se Lève was developed by perfumer Jacques Cavallier. The notes for the fruity floral include mandarin, blackcurrant, jasmine, magnolia, osmanthus and musks.
Louis Vuitton Le Jour Se Lève will be available in 100 and 200 ml Eau de Parfum, and in a set of travel sprays (four x 7.5 ml).
Interesting…and a lovely bottle
It is nice packaging.
Are all of those things part of a purchase? It looks like a whole kit!
Oh wait. Maybe that’s just the container the bottle comes in. Oops.
Yep…
Hmm..the bottle is pretty (tho I never seen them in real life, yet)..but the notes sounds like every other perfume. Pretty spring perfume that dosen’t do much.
But the price is what have kept me away to try any of the perfumes.
Ah but the name! Doesn’t the name of the perfume make you want to try it, regardless of how boring the notes sound?
Sadly not really 🙁
But I might be surprised..the perfumer could perhaps do magic with the notes, but I doubt it..
The name is (perhaps intentionally) the title of one of the great French poetic-realist movies of the 1930s, starring Jean Gabin and directed by Marcel Carné. Hollywood remade in the late 1940s as THE LONG NIGHT, which starred Henry Fonda and Barbara Bel Geddes and was directed by Anatol Litvak.
It sounds a bit boring, but will give it a spritz when I’m at the mall.
I’ve had the chance to test all of the 5 releases so far – and i’ve been very underwhelmed by all of them. I feel they missed the mark on what a fragrance for Louis Vuitton could have been; for a company who’s central theme is travel and has a rich history in luggage, they could have easily went with a strong rare ingredient sourced from the edges of the earth theme.. Or a strong leather vibe (how perfect would Helmut Lang Cuiron or YSL M7 have been for LV??).
