Dolce & Gabbana has launched Velvet Amber Sun and Velvet Amber Skin, new additions to the brand's Velvet series. The last in the series was Velvet Cypress.
Velvet Amber Sun ~ "Celebrating the rich Arabic heritage of Sicily, in this scent the potent amber accord is illuminated with a striking blend of gold-hued ingredients. [...] Like a warm oriental wind, yellow-petaled ylang-ylang unleashes its exotic power on an amber accord of vanilla and cistus labdanum. As the fragrance develops, the creaminess of sandalwood is suffused with a subtle veil of sweet-scented smoke. Like a mirage, Palermo appears in the tendrils of burning olibanum. Rising in a golden glow, the fragrant coils turn into sculpted volutes of precious ambery woods and patchouli, burnished by a soulful oud accord."
Velvet Amber Skin ~ "An Oriental ambery perfume inspired by the palette of the Mediterranean and the sweet balsams of Arabia. Like a sumptuous piece of moiré silk, the mysterious scent takes on amber and purple tones as it unfolds. [...] Sparkling Italian bergamot sheds its sunny light on aromatic lavender essence, the golden citrus fruit and fragrant mauve flower, conjuring memories of cherished Italian landscapes. As Velvet Amber Skin reveals its heart, labdanum resin adds the burnished shade of skin-soft leather. As purple dusk falls, a powdery veil of cool iris settles on a blend of Oriental resins. Sweet opoponax and magnetic myrrh, honey-hued gems embroidered on violet velvet damask, bring a warm radiance to the elegant drydown of ambery woods."
Dolce & Gabbana Velvet Amber Sun and Velvet Amber Skin are available in 50 or 150 ml Eau de Parfum.

???? These ads. What can anyone guess from them? I am always surprised by what the scent actually smells like, compared to the ad copy. I guess I’m surprised some ad company hasn’t hired an excellent perfume blogger ( looking at you all NST!) o write clear comprehensible perfume descriptions for them. I’d vote for youse guys in a hot minute!
Ok rant over!
Ah well. The bottles are nice-
if my hobby was collecting pretty bottles.
I’ll stop and smell them if I happen on them.
Happy smelling all!
Nonsense — they don’t want clear comprehensible perfume descriptions! And for all I know, they’re right not to 😉
Anyway, yes, the Velvet bottles are always pretty.
missyl, I completely agree with you.
