What is it: a Cire Trudon Coffret ("Le Coffret contains the five 10ml miniatures of the Trudon perfumes collection), used extensively for testing — I would guess there is about 7 ml left in each bottle? Think of it as a discovery set, maybe.
How do I get it: For a chance to win, leave a comment telling me either a) your favorite niche brand at the moment, or b) your favorite discovery set or coffret, or c) something else you've been dying to post in a comment.
Be sure to use the “Post a comment” box; do not reply to another comment! All replies to comments will be deleted!
The contest will be open until noon or so next Saturday, then I'll announce the winner on Monday.
The fine print: Don't enter the contest unless I have permission to use the email address in your reader account to contact you. If the email address in your reader account is incorrect, you might want to fix it. If you are the winner and you fail to send me your mailing details within a couple weeks, I’ll give your prize away to someone else. Sadly, it sometimes usually takes me a month to mail a package. Reasonable care will be taken in the packaging and mailing of your prize, but if the contents are lost or damaged or fail to please you for any reason whatsoever, I’m sorry but I cannot replace them.
I am in the US and you can use my email. I have 3 favorite lines at the moment – Slumberhouse and SHL 777 (although I was disappointed by the more recent releases)
Fun giveaway – thanks Robin! I’m in the US. Favorite niche line at the moment would have to be Neela Vermiere.
Thank you for the contest Robin. I am in the USA and you can use my email. My latest favorite niche brands are Tauer, Neela Vermiere and Hiram Green.
Oh, yay, and thanks for the giveaway! I’m in the U.S. Not sure I have a favorite niche but the houses from which I have more than 1 perfume would be Le Labo and Aroma M.
I am in Canada and you can use my e-mail. My favorite coffret is Maison Francis Kurkdjian discovery set.
Thanks for the giveaway
Hi – I am in the U.S. favorite niche at the moment: Profumum, but it changes daily. ????
Question: has anyone tried the new Jason Wu EDP? Would love to hear thoughts!
You can use my email. If this is US only I will find someone with a US address! I am desperate to try these. My favourite niche brands are probably MDCI and 4160 Tuesdays.
Woo hoo! Thanks for the generous giveaway! You can use my email address to contact me. My favorite Discovery Set is Nomenclature, at least from an aesthetics standpoint.
I’m in the US an you may use my email address. Thanks for the contest!
My favorite discovery set would have to be the Amouage set from the swapmeet!
I am in the US (will be by the time you mail this 🙂 ) and you can use my email address of course. I am dying to try these Trudon scents, they sound lovely. I would also like to get a hold of the Jean-Michel Duriez line but sadly they have no US distributor yet.
My favourite niche lines are Tauer, Papillon Perfumery, Vero Profumo and Naomi Goodsir.
Wow, what a nice offer! My new favorite coffret is the set of three travel-size Ramon Monegal scents I recently bought online. My email address should work, and I am in CONUS. Thanks for doing this!
Thanks for the chance, Robin! My favorite niche brand atm is Zoologist.
Thanks for the great giveaway! My favourite niche is Hiram Green, love them all. I’m in Canada and of course it is ok to use my email if I were lucky enough to win.
I’m in the USA, and you can use my email address. I’ve currently been eyeing the new Atelier discovery set, which comes with sample soaps as well as perfume samples. Thank you for the contest!
Hey Robin!
My favorite discovery set was probably the OJ one–since several of those scents have become major swoons for me. Best coffret, though, is the Malle one–fewer swoons, but so many high quality lovlies to play with!
Nice! I love coffrets, travel sets, and discovery sets. I’ve bought quite a few, and almost always found something to love amongst their contents, and they’ve led to lots of FB purchases. I don’t know if Atelier still does this, but when I bought their discovery set a few years ago they were offering something crazy like 30 samples for $30. I still haven’t gotten through all of them, but I did end up buying a bottle of Sous le toit de Paris.
Feel free to contact me via my NST email, and I am in the US. Thanks, Robin!
My favorite niche line is Tauer Perfumes, and I love their sampler sets because you get to pick the scents you want to sample, and they are a generous spray size.
Nice giveaway, thanks! I’m not good at picking favorites so I’ll tell you about my little perfume find at a neighborhood Sunday market/flea last weekend. It was Parfums Corday Fame in a gold canister like a lipstick tube. I haven’t tried it on skin yet, but it smells great when I uncap the bottle.
Thanks for the chance to try these scents! My favorite niche line is Tauer perfumes. Like jirish, I love that you can select your samples for his sample set. I also love that he’s been offering a free sample set with full bottle purchase.
Thanks, Robin. I’m in the U.S. and you can use my email. My favorite discovery sets at the moment are Zoologist and Ineke–could they be more different? This set would be totally new to me; I’ve never sampled any of their scents.
As this doesn’t mention US only I’m dropping a comment as I would love to try these. (I’m in the Netherlands)
Favourite “new” niche brand: Oriza L.Legrand. Their retro style and their fondness for tassels are an utter delight.
I am in the USA.
Triple strength coffee.
I would never purchase a Cire Trudon candle (too expensive) , but I’d like to smell the scents.
Thanks Robin!
????
Hi Robin,
Thanks so much for the opportunity! I live in the U.S. and you have my permision to use my email address. My favieite niche fragrance should come as no surprise: the house that caused me to go down that rabbit hole; Jo Malone.
That coffret is lovely. Favorite brands right now–SSS, Tauer and the Hermessence line from Hermès come to mind. I love discovery sets; I want small amounts of everything!
Thanks for the giveaway! My favorite discovery set is Atelier Cologne. I’m a sucker for their postcards, plus it’s basically free.
I was just talking about splitting this coffret but was disappointed that Cire Trudon doesn’t ship to Canada. Thanks for the giveaway!
I love Guerlain coffrets, I scour ebay for vintage ones all the time
Thanks for the opportunity to win!
How lovely! Thank you, Robin. I am in the US and my email address is up to date and available for use.
I recently realized I have more bottles from L’Artisan Parfumeur than any other house. That makes it my favorite for the moment.
Thank you for the giveaway! I’m in France. (if it’s open to worldwide)
My favourite niche brand, without a doubt, is Parfums de Nicolaï.
Thank you for the giveaway! Current favorite niche is Le labo, serge, or malle…but coveting a zoologist discovery set because they all seem so unique and I’ve never tried any. I’m in the US!
Thanks for the chance and yes to everything. 🙂 My favorite sample set ever was from Parfumes Rosine several years ago. It was just so pretty in presentation. I don’t know if they still do it. Favorite niche is hard but I find Zoologist line super creative. For most worn I’d say Berdoues cologne line. Thanks for the draw.
I am in the U.S. and you may use my email address.
My favorite niche brand right now is E.L.D.O. In fact, I’m wearing Fat Electrician today.
My favorite discovery set by far is MDCI’s. The 12 ml bottles are a generous size. You can choose the scents you want. The cost of a set is deductible from the price of a full bottle. Best of all, they smell divine.
I live in the US and you may use my email address. Thanks for the draw!
Oooh – thanks for the contest & it’s fine to use my email address! My favorite discovery set is the Diptyque set I bought last fall, because I love all five of the scents that were included.
I am very into Imaginary Authors at the moment. They have a new one with orris, tea, and sandalwood coming out soon that I am dying to try. Thanks for the chance!
Favorite Coffret: Hermes Nomad Discovery Set. Best thing about it is that it is the same ml-to-dollar ratio as the largest full bottles so you save money!
I’m in Canada and you can use my email address. Best discovery coffret I ever got was the Etat Libre d’Orange sixteen-bottle set — so many good things in it. The Ormonde Jayne sample set is a close runner-up.
I’ve recently seen an Hermes coffret that’s so elegant, it piques my interest for sure!
I am a US resident, and my email attached to my account is ok to use 🙂
I have on-going love for 4160 Tuesdays as my favourite niche perfumer, but Paul Schütze has claimed a spot too.
(I’m in Scotland, so I hope that UK postal hatred of perfume doesn’t rule me out of entering…)
After buying the Beaufort discovery set
at Bloom in London in June, i am obsessed with all things Beaufort. I realize it’s a phase and I am bound to get tired of all this smoke, tar and fir, but at the moment i can’t live without it.
i’ve never tried anything by Trudon (not sure their perfumes are even available in Germany), but was intrigued by your review of Bruma. My email is attached to my account. Thank you – hope your generous offer applies for Europe. Have a lovely Sunday.
Hi Robin,
Located in the US. Would LOVE these as I’ve been dying to try them out for months now. Hoping to fall in love with them as the free treasured Cire Trudon candles I have (kept under a glass bell – I’m trying to make the fragrance last for years).
My favorite coffret ever purchased was the Comme Des Garcons pocket set (2, 2 Man, Wondereood, Aamazingreen). The bottles are 25ml – practical but not a novelty. I would never have purchased a full size of each of these, but I’m happy to have them all in a smaller format (and was purchased with a Christmas gift certificate so guilt free!).
Cheers!
Danny
Hi Robin,
Thank you for offering this as a giveaway.
Hoping I can enter this as I am in the UK and Trudon don’t ship here. It’s fine to use the email address on my account. My favourite niche line right now is Vero Profumo, also love Neela Vermeire and a few of the Chanel Exclusifs (not the new EdPs though). Best discovery set, probably the Prada infusions mini set would be up there, and the Hermessence 15ml coffrets are just perfect – have one, hoping for the next one for Christmas.
Thank you for the fantastic draw; I’m dying to try these. You may use my email, and I am in Germany. At the moment, I’m trying a sample set from Bruno Fazzolari.
Well as this seems to be international I’ll enter as well! You may use my email to contact me,I am in South Africa. Thanks for the awesome draw!
Favorite discovery set/coffret so far was the 2012 Frederic Malle, containing 18 5ml spray vials.I loved them all of course and treasured them like full bottles.Lol.
My favorite Niche brand always and forever will be Byredo.Love the packaging, the fumes are always interesting.Pulp,Accord Oud and Black Saffron are the standouts for me.
Thanks for this opportunity, Robin! I have heard such great things about these fragrances.
I think my favorite niche brand of the moment is Pierre Bourdon, which is so dang hard to find at this point it is practically a crime against perfumistas. Distribution problems I hear. I’ve been wearing Sous les Magnolias practically daily, which is just unheard of for me: perfume-wise I have the attention span of a mosquito.
I am in Canada (but also have an address in the US you can use) and probably like le labo and Hiram Green better than any other lines.
Thanks for the giveaway! My favourite discovery set are the Hermès one for the Hermssences and the Coqui Coqui which in current perfume prices pays you for the smell 🙂 You can use my e-mail.
I am in the US and you can use my email, my favorite Niche Line is Smell Bent!
I live in the US. You may use me email address. I got a discovery set from Imaginary Authors recently which I’m really enjoying!
I love coffrets. I have two discovery sets from Andy Tauer and finally pulled the trigger on a full-size bottle of L’Air du Desert Marocain. They’re a great way to explore a perfume house’s aesthetic. I live in the US and you can use my email.
Most recent niche discovery I’ve fallen in love with is the Atelier Des Ors line. The packaging and gold flecks did not appeal at all, so I completely gave them a pass but won a sample set recently from STC that included several… just lovely! Full bottles are out of my price range, but will be definitely be picking up some decants there. Thanks so much for this draw! Fingers crossed, as the Cire Trudon candle fragrances are stunning.
Thank you, Robin! I am in the continental US and you can contact me via email. My favorite niche brand (or at least the one I’ve been enjoying the most at the moment) is Phlur.
What a lovely thing to do Robin. I am in Canada, and you may certainly use my email.
I am wallowing in the Frederick Malle coffret I received for Christmas in 2014. At the changing of the seasons, I almost always take it out and see if scents I did not care for are now striking a more positive note.
What a lovely giveaway! I am in the US, and you may certainly use my email. My favorite niche brand is Serge Lutens.
I’m in the US and happy to be contacted using the e-mail in my profile. This is a very generous giveaway, Robin – thank you so much for initiating it!
My favorite niche brand right now is Zoologist, because I enjoy the concepts, the reasonable prices, and the thoughtful, witty scents, even if I don’t always love the way they smell. But why should one love everything?
I live in the UK but I don’t think you mentioned that it was restricted to US only. You may use my email. My favourite niche brand at the moment is by Sultan Pasha. He is London based and makes the most exquisite attars. Now attars are trickier than squirty bottle perfumes in that you have to apply carefully from teeny tiny bottles and………wait. They unfold and develop more slowly than conventional fragrances and release their ingredients in a much more harmonious way interacting with your skin and the different levels of heat or cold. They can be heady and strong but I do have a couple that are delicate and very feminine. My favourites contain Iris Palladia which gives the attar a softness, a very polished subtle aroma that is bordering gourmand. But the beauty is that almost all the attars are 100% natural using macerations, distillations and extractions from the animal and plant world (all sustainable……e.g. Ambergris) His attars have changed the way I view fragrance.
I am in the US , you can contact me via email and my favorite niche at this moment in time is Phlur.
Thanks for hosting, Robin! My favorite niche house is, unfortunately, Slumberhouse.
Not sure if Oriza Legrand is niche, but that would have to be my favorite house lately, also Zoologist. Thanks for the giveaways! 🙂
Wow, this looks really neat! Neved tried anything from CT.
My favourite Discovery kit was the Mona di Orio Les Nombres d’ Or one, really stunning in appearance, that also allowed me to get the beauties I otherwise could’t afford. Loved the variety.
I love a discovery set- the one I have enjoyed the most over the years is Ormonde Jayne’s. I am awaiting the Bruno Fazzolari one (which btw, comes with a $15 voucher if you decide to order a bottle after sampling). Thanks for the draw 🙂
The samples set I enjoyed lately was the one from Parlez moi de parfum and I have to say it was a generous one too!
My favourite niche – whatever that means nowadays- is Etat Libre d’orange, will always be:)
And I have to say that I’m really very curious about Trudon’s perfume line, I like Miller Harris’s work a lot.
Thanks a lot:)
I purchased a discovery set from Olympic Orchids about two years ago. This consisted of four mini-spray sets of 5 perfumes sent every 3 months which were chosen based on the season. It was quite nice and a pretty diverse selection. I live in the US.
I live in the USA and my favorite niche brand at the moment is Therapeutate Parfums based in NYC and I love Osirius and Modern Patchouli fragrances!
thank you so much for hosting this giveaway! My favorite niche brand at the moment? Probably Bruno Fazzolari – his perfumes are just so fascinating. Favorite discovery set would definitely have to be the Malle coffret – it’s a steal if you order it from a European site, too.
I live in the US….I’m enjoying the Histoires de Parfums discovery set lately. Fave niche line EVER is Etat Libre d’Orange!
Wow! Great giveaway, i haven’t tried anything new released in the past two years so there’s a lot to try as I’d love to try this sampler set.
Mortel in particular sounds amazing.
I like the way Hermes lets you build your 15ml sets with Hermessence collection. Not exactly a sampler but i really think that’s a great way to sell perfumes.
I live in the US and you csn use my email address to contact me.
I love me a good discovery set – it gives me the same happy feeling as sitting down at a Korean restaurant and having 10 banchan dishes immediately appear in front of me. Best discovery set for me was probably Ormonde Jayne, acquired quite a long time ago.
I am also quite intrigued by the thought of Cire Trudon perfumes – I really love their candles (though they are stupidly expensive), and hope that the perfumes are equally well done.
What a cool giveaway! I am in the US and email is fine to use. From the stand point of highest-percentage-of-the-line-that-I-like-and-wear, I would say my favorite niche brands are Mugler’s Les Exceptions and Le Galion.
Thanks for the giveaway! I’m in the US, you can use my email address, and my favorite niche brand at the moment is Parfums Dusita.
Hi from the good ole’ USofA. Permish to use email, and my fave niche brand…..hmm, Pacifica, maybe??
Thanks for the draw!
I am in the PNW and you have permission to use my email , my favorite niche brands currently are Andy Tauer and Olympic Orchids. They can’t be beat for well crafted and interesting scents,
Thanks for the giveaway! I am in the US and the set I wish I had bought was the Chanel Exclusifs one, considering I want about 5 of those fragrances right now!
Thanks for the giveaway. I’m in the US, you can use my email. I don’t have a favorite discovery set yet, but I’d love to try the Elizabeth & James Choose Your Nirvana Coffret Warm & Spicy Edition.
I’m in the US and you can use my email. My favorite niche brand today/right now is Tauer. Thanks for the giveaway!
I’m in the US wondering if fall weather is ever going to hit Boston. You can use my email. My favorite niche line is MCMC Fragrances. They’re all very wearable but still different than mainstream stuff, come in perfume oil or EDP or candle.
Would love to sniff these! I am in the USA in NYC. My favorite niche house is Smell Bent!
Also I Heart NST!!!! Thanks for the shot!
