Van Cleef & Arpels Reve de Cashmere ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 18 August 2017 15 Comments

Van Cleef & Arpels has launched Rêve de Cashmere, a new addition to the brands′s Collection Extraordinaire.

Spawn from Van Cleef & Arpels’ Collection Extraordinaire, Rêve de Cashmere is an intense oriental woody leathery fragrance. The velvety texture of musks, heliotrope and Sri Lankan sandalwood evokes the soft caresses of cashmere against the skin, against a contrast of soft leather. The pairing of black vanilla and Indonesian patchouli brings warmth to the overall composition.

Additional notes include bergamot and jasmine.

Van Cleef & Arpels Rêve de Cashmere is available now at Selfridges in the UK, £252 for 75 ml Eau de Parfum.

Is that odd or what?? Maybe the term is used in other countries in ways which I am not familiar with.

Sure is odd. My money would be on a bad google translation.

Not in A-NZ. Most unfortunate wording!

I think they meant spawned, but I’m sure there are better words for it. Actually had to look up spawn.

Spawn at caviar prices. Cashmere and leather, though…wish I could try it.

I liked the plain black VC&A Collection Extraordinaire bottle more. These stripes are not necessary to me.

At some point, it should get to Bergdorfs. That said, VC&A used to occupy a prominent transition spot between the little alcove next to JAR and the up escalator and the brighter squarish perfume section. Now, they are in an overlooked shelf between Dior and…not sure what and Estée Lauder. None of the SAs nearby want to bother with them.

Same here at the Bay. Completely neglected.

I’m probably the odd one out – I liked my sample of California Reviere, bought a bottle, then eventually sold it on the bay. Off-topic-hajusuuri, have you tested the JAR fragrances? I’m not in the market for any, and I can order samples from STC, but are there any worth testing?

I liked Golconda enough to purchase a bottle. The same perfume on another NYC perfumista smelled like week-old vase water. I thought Diamond Water was nice. The decant site sample set is too $$$…I think you should go through the JAR experience!
