The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 17 May 2017 6 Comments

Lush's Violet Nights Bath Oil has been around for years, and last had a full scale release (that I know of) in 2014. I want it for the name and the color, but it sounds darned good too: "Bask in enchanting baths of sweetly fragrant violet leaf and mystical sandalwood oil. This deep purple bath oil filled with conditioning soya oil provides creamy comfort that leaves skin soft and minds serene. Clouds of cassie oil cast a blackcurranty spell over your mood - sweetly uplifting and nostalgic, while rich Fair Trade vanilla from western Uganda adds exotic notes to the fairytale perfume." Possibly my mood could use a bit of a blackcurranty spell, but unfortunately it's only at the UK Lush Kitchen, where it's about £14 for 245g. (And for anyone else needing a laugh today, they've also got a fresh cleanser called "German Sausage" being sold under the tag line "what's the wurst that could happen?")

    I want it too!
I ordered it yesterday (along with Grass shower gel and Guardian of the Forest), promptly paid for it by phone, and today my order shows as cancelled. I sent an email to their Customer Care asking for explanation, but I do not have much hope.
One thing I definitely do not like about Lush UK is how glitchy their website/ordering process is.

Oh dear, what a shame! I did think they shipped internationally.

They do ship, I order from them from time to time. Actually, my previous order was only last week, and it was dispatched successfully. It must be a technical glitch. My guess is that my telephone payment did not ‘link’ to the website ordering system.
There is still hope that they will answer that my order is actually fine, so I am waiting anxiously.

Got tired of waiting and called them. It was just as I feared: they called it a ‘miscommunication’ between payment and ordering systems. The sad part is that Grass shower gel already sold out, and it was the main reason for ordering (although I wanted the other two products too). So I just asked to refund me. Sigh.
        Maybe another time…

So sorry! You would think one of the nice folks in the kitchen could whip up another batch for you :-(

Thanks. They should have! :D Actually, the lady I talked to said that Grass should make another appearance in the Kitchen soon enough – within a month or so. So I’ll wait. :)
