The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 12 May 2017 9 Comments

More from La Société Parisienne de Savons (if you missed it, see yesterday's Le Baume L'Eau de Cologne), and this time, something you can easily buy on my side of the pond: a Violette de Parme bath soap in a pretty, retro-look tin, 250g for $25. A smaller guest soap in a box is $8, a 10g box of dusting powder is $26, and there are also bath salts and liquid soap available. All at Hampton Court.

STOP DOING THIS. You’re a bad influence. You make me want to buy things. I’m going to Amsterdam next week and found a place where they sell this line (Affaire d’Eau) and I expect I’m going to buy a bunch of the balms. YOU TERRIBLE PERSON.

I wish you wouldn’t post these things. 😉 I adore cheesy tins and soaps. And I have too much soap anyway, and I bought too much tea today…

Some Palais des Thés for my brother ( 7 agrumes, Blue of London and Chaï Impérial), and some Earl Grey Darjeeling,Assam Halmari, Ceylon Silver Candy, Nepal Shangri La Gold and a Palais des Thés Jardin Bohème for myself. I was actually sort of good. I didn’t buy any of my favourite expensive Earl Greys, even though I was close to the shop.

Oh, dear. I just might go a bit into the rabbit hole on this one. This shop has all kinds of violet goodies. In spring I want to smell violets all around me, particularly on my bedding. Some soaps and things would surely be more affordable and practical than spraying d/c’d Penhaligon’s Violetta all over my bedroom…

Does anyone have favorite violet-scented soaps or other home products? I’m partial to the prim English garden variety, a la Violetta.
